My place is close to great views of the Southern Alps and away from the hustle and bustle of city living. It is a peaceful country escape. 10 mins to Darfield & 20 mins to Rolleston, and 30 mins to Christchurch or Christchurch airport. My place is good for couples and families (with kids). We are only a few minutes away from the hot air ballooning and an hour from the ski fields. The nearest golf course is only 5 mins down the road with several others available in the Selwyn district.

Our cottage has 4 steps up to the deck, ideal to relax by day & watch spectacular stars of the milky way by night. Close to many outdoor activities in the heart of Mt Somers Village. A self contained studio apartment inside the Brinkley village. We’re not part of the resort business, so can offer better deals with the same facilities. If your view is to have a great night's sleep to ski, whitewater raft, fish, mountain bike or hike then this is the place for you. On the shuttle bus route for skiing at Mt Hutt. We know you'll love everything the outdoors has to offer from Methven. The resort also has a spa pool, restaurant in peak season & tennis court.

Beautiful native trees and birdsong surround your own peaceful, private, and quiet cottage and gardens. We have a star gazing area where you will be awed by the clear sky and see the Milky Way and all the constellations. Our Retreat Cottage is very well equipped with everything you need, including a 3 pin EV charging port. Your hosts, Drew and Sally, will meet you and show you where you can browse the large vegetable gardens and orchard.

Montrose Estate NZ - Paewaka

Set on 750 acres of prime riverfront land, Montrose Estate provides self-contained luxury accommodation. Sitting on the back of Mount Hutt - a world renowned skiing destination, it has breathtaking views of the Rakaia river, mountain ranges and of it's own 5 acre lake. Montrose Estates is truly a special place to get away and unwind - "Paewaka" is a gorgeous 3 bedroom 2 bathroom lodge with large living spaces perfect for entertaining.

Country Cabin

The warm and cosy cabin is a self contained unit detached from the main house, with BBQ, private deck and restful native garden. You will have your own access/key and off road parking. Our place is great for couples. On navman route, we are 2 hours from Christchurch and 4 hours to Queenstown. Only 1 hour from Mt Hutt ski field and 1 hour from Mt Dobson ski field. Aoraki Mount Cook is 2 hours distance and Tekapo is 1 hour.

Middle Rock High Country Farmstay

A genuine NZ farm stay on a working sheep farm in the panoramic Lake Coleridge high country just 100kms west of Christchurch city. The Quarters sleep 8 in the main building and an additional 4 persons in 2 adjoining cabins. Beds are illustrated as Queens (in fact super-kings) but all rooms can be split to twin shares. Exclusive use to each group booking. Preference is given to larger groups at weekends.
