The Goat Cottage

Goat House Cottage is a charming self-catering holiday retreat in Wakkerstroom, within easy reach of the town center and nearby restaurants. It accommodates 4 adults with 1 bedroom (king-size bed) and a separate bathroom fitted with a shower, basin and toilet. The living area contains, 2 three-quarter beds. Guests can light the fireplace to stay warm on Wakkerstroom’s cooler days or evenings. The cottage is completely solar-powered and features a gas geyser for the shower.

Vlei House

A large, comfortable, self - catering holiday house. Walking distance to both the Wetland Reserve and Wakkerstroom Village. Tranquil, with a very large garden that leads onto the 'vlei'. It is perfectly located within Wakkerstroom. We deliberately do not have wifi or television so as to enjoy the 'digital detox' that Wakkerstroom offers. There is erratic mobile network coverage in Wakkerstroom and at Vlei House. There are TVs at the hotel and some pubs, in need.

Sunbird Cottage - Relaxed Farm Getaway

Sunbird Cottage is on a working farm 30km from Volksrust and Wakkerstroom Wetlands, it is a place to come and relax and recharge, we are off grid. There is great birding, walking, mountain biking and bass fishing on site, there are also kayaks for the dams. The cottage overlooks a gorge that goes down to the Slang River with an indigenous forest and has great views over the valley towards Amajuba Mountain and Battlefields for those interested in history.

Estee House is a home away from home situated in Newcastle, Central. The house is tastefully decorated with modern finishings. It has a fully fitted beautiful kitchen with granite tops. Very neat and secure. It is close to both hospitals and the Newcastle Mall. Housekeeping will be done free off-charge every alternate day. Change of towels are available on request. It is ideal for long stays with quiet and peaceful surroundings.

This town was our home for three years and sadly we had to move to the city, away from the peace,tranquillity and charm of the Vleiland-town But that opened up the opportunity for us to share our house and secrets of Wakkerstroom with many a traveller.
