The Stone House is self-catering and contains, in the main bedroom, one double and one 3/4 bed with an en-suite bathroom, flush toilet, bath and shower. The lounge, with a fireplace, contains a single bed and couch. Bedding is provided and mosquito nets. Joy River Backpackers is situated at the very beginning of the Blyde River Canyon. A genuine African village experience, rustic & laid-back atmosphere prevails and the buildings blend serenely into that of the village. The water is potable.

The houses are completely independent and respectful of the environment, relying on solar energy. Our aim is to not impact the environment in any way. With only 3 luxury rooms catering for 6 guests, Ntoma House offers a romantic and intimate experience and is the perfect hideaway for a private family or secluded lockdown destination. 2 Bedrooms with king size/twin beds and another with a double bed are available. The lodge is designed with modern day comforts, using materials that allow guests to continuously experience the natural beauty of their surroundings. The cosy lounge is equipped with a TV and offer Shomax and Netflix.

Ngama Bush House

Located in a Private Nature Reserve and nestled under large Marula and Sausage Trees, the Bush House is the perfect place to sit back and take in the beauty of the natural environment or explore the surrounding attractions. The house sleeps 8 adults in 3 bedrooms, with an additional sleeper couch in one of the rooms to accommodate 2 small children. Although the house is complete private you have the added benefit of being within the grounds of Rukiya Safari camp where you can go for meals, enjoy a dip in the pool and join safari activities. The house has beautiful river views and when staying you have access to Wild Rivers Nature Reserve.

A diverse array of birds also inhabits the surroundings, their constant songs creating a beautiful backdrop to the natural environment.
