Artist's Studio

Originally the studio of a visual artist (long ago garden illustrator for The New York Times), this petite building is completely private. Firm queen bed. Mix of antiques and artisanal built-ins. Radiant heat. AC. Mini fridge and microwave, electric kettle, Chemex coffee maker and French Press, excellent wifi. Unique space in one of the best country neighborhoods around. 6.5 miles to Hillsborough healthy grocery store, 8 to Carrboro/Chapel Hill, 18 to Durham. Serene pond and grounds.

Christmas Tree Farm Bunkhouse near Jordan Lake

Ever thought it would be fun to experience a day at a real working Christmas Tree Farm? Be our guest at the bunkhouse, a beautiful 320 sq ft tiny house full of character. Remodeled from salvaged materials on the farm, this bunkhouse features a full kitchen, bathroom with roomy bedroom and living room. Relax on the porch or roast marshmallows by the firepit. You can take a stroll through the Christmas trees, by the pond and in the spring and summer, through our U-pick flower patch.

Two Dachshund Farm (Lavender & Fiber Farm), LLC

Stay on a working fiber/lavender farm convenient to the Raleigh/Durham area - 20 min. from Interstate 85 & 50 min. from 95. Interact with our alpacas, sheep, llamas, Angora goats, donkeys, & more. Shop our farm store, stroll the property. Tours are free for registered guests. Friends may join the tour for a fee. Use of the pool is for registered guests only. Twenty stairs lead up to the 700 sq ft over-the-garage apartment with private entrance. Includes a king bed & pullout couch.

"Enchanted Forest Garden" A One Bedroom Retreat

A 600 s.f. cottage retreat designed by Robert Phillips. One bedroom, full bath and kitchen, and spacious living room. Ten ft. ceilings and fine architectural details; terraced; fountains nestled in a tree grove on 10 acres with foot paths. 15-20 minutes to Chapel Hill/Carrboro, University of North Carolina; Pittsboro and the Saxapahaw arts community on the Haw River. You’ll feel like you’re getting away from it all in this modern, private tiny house in the trees, even though you’re just minutes from Duke, downtown Durham, shopping, and restaurants. It’s the perfect balance of peaceful retreat and city convenience. The home includes all the essentials — full kitchen, laundry, A/C, and high-speed internet — but many guests find themselves spending most of their time relaxing on the screened-in porch, listening to birds, and recharging.

Rustic Cabin on a Working Farm in Durham

Come get away from it all—while conveniently close to everything—at Laurel Branch Gardens, a 12-acre farm that uses organic growing practices. About 100 yards from the farm house, the cabin is a renovated tobacco barn with a sleeping loft, full kitchen, bathroom (with a shower and composting toilet), and living area. Meet the pigs and chickens. Lay in the hammock. Listen to bird calls. During June and July u-pick blueberries will be available for harvest for $3.50/lbs.

Come relax and remember what it’s like to be away from noise and light pollution and hear only crickets at night. 1 King bedroom + private loft with king and queen beds.
