Situated on the sunny side of the hill "The Large House" is one of the oldest homes in Napier. Built in the 1880's it has grand rooms, ornate fireplaces, high ceilings, spacious balconies and is surrounded by a wild organic garden which is very secluded. Inside, go up the spiral stairs to the cozy mezzanine bedroom (please note that it's low up there). The unique stairs are from the old star observatory on Titirangi (the local maunga/mountain)! The sofa bed in the lounge can sleep 2. There is no kitchen, but there is a kitchenette with microwave, toaster and kettle.
