Local attractions such as Zip World, Antur Stiniog and Llechwedd Slate Caverns are a few minutes away. The cottage is also ideally located for visiting nearby Porthmadog and Betws y Coed.

Hafod y Rhedwydd, an off-grid cottage in an SSSI

At 1150 feet above sea level Hafod y Rhedwydd is one of the 12 highest houses in Wales and completely off-grid - private water supply, electricity by petrol generator, broadband via satellite - in the Snowdonia National Park and surrounded by National Trust land with amazing views. The cottage lies 8 miles from Betws y Coed on the northern edge of the Migneint, a 200 square mile SSSI and Conservation Area that is home to a rich variety of wildlife including Hen Harriers and polecats.

Our guests love the cottage for it's rustic charm and beautiful gardens with viewpoints over the Lledr valley. It's on a quiet hillside surrounded by craggy ancient woodland about 3 miles from Betws-y-Coed, well placed to explore Snowdonia but also well off the beaten track. Traditional 19th Century Slate Miners Cottage

A characterful original slate miner’s cottage dating from the late 1800s. Located in Tanygrisiau, just outside the historic slate-mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, the cottage is a short walk from local shops, amenities and the village pub. A narrow-gauge heritage steam railway runs along the bottom of the garden and can be seen from all rear-facing windows. Ideally placed for Llechwedd Slate Caverns, zip wires, mountain biking and mountain walks.

My cottage is a mid terraced small miners cottage, perched high above Blaenau FFestiniog with stunning views in a quiet residential area but only a few minutes walk from the town centre. You have access straight into the mountains. It is beautifully warm in the winter and in the summer catches the sun from dawn until dusk. Zip World, Bounce Below , the LLechwedd Slate Caverns and the FFestiniog Railway are all close by.

This is our family holiday cottage in Blaenau-Ffestiniog. Walking distance to Zip World, Bounce below and Llechwedd slate caverns. Blaenau-Ffestiniog is ideally located to explore Snowdonia National park. Approx. 10 miles to great beaches (Porthmadog, Harlech) and other picturesque towns such as Betws-y-Coed and Beddgelert. Catch the historic Ffestiniog railway to Porthmadog or explore Portmeirion village.
