We live in an 1895 Victorian top flat with 12 foot ceilings on the best block in San Francisco. Our calendar is always up to date. Location Location Location~ Our home is close to the Mission, Lower Haight, and 2.5 blocks from the Castro theater. The underground is 3 blocks away, with a street car even closer. The room is small and cosy, but a great price for one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the US! Please fill out your profile if you are interested~and make sure to arrange a time to meet prior to your arrival, I lead a busy lifestyle, work full time, and wouldn't want to miss anyone! Check in is at 5 and we are 37 steps up from street level. Restaurants are plentiful and beautiful Dolores Park is quite close. Your room has a twin day bed 75 inches long with a desk and a solid door. The room is 9.25 feet by 8 feet. Amenities include wireless and a gorgeous full kitchen. For all you foodies out there BiRite Creamery, Tartine, Delfina's Pizza and Proper are within 4.5 blocks of our front door. Michelin rated Range is just a few farther. As much as we love bikes, and we do, we don't have space for storage. If you rent one please return it at the end of the day or lock up on the street at your own risk. Please ask if you would like to have a friend for a short visit.
  • Staying with Brenda was an amazing experience. Her place is immaculately designed, with a very worldly feel to it. The house is situated in the heart of the Castro district, and is surrounded by excellent restaurants offering various cuisines from around the world. Brenda is a lifelong world traveler that is very open-minded, and interested in meeting new people. As a design enthusiast, her apartment is furnished with beautiful details. The bedroom is excellent for 1 person, though I don't think it would be comfortable for a couple. Also, if you are very tall (6'4"+), you will likely me too tall for the bed. Other than that, the place is fantastic. Would stay there again.

  • First off, Brenda lives in the heart of SF in the Castro. Her house is so superbly located for anyone wanting an authentic experience of San Francisco. Brenda keeps an immaculate, beautifully decorated home, and has two pets, a dog and a cat, who are well-behaved and neatly groomed. Her price is an excellent value considering the location and comfort of the house. I did not stay long, but I was able to find parking consistently, which made me very happy too. As for Brenda, she and I have a fair amount in common, so we got along fabulously. I don't feel like I had a host, I felt like I met a friend.

    Jaime2012-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda was great host; welcoming, helpful, and fun. We had several interesting conversations and she offered some great tips on places to see and restaurants to try in area. She has a beautiful, comfortable place in a perfect location for exploring the Mission, Lower Haight, and Castro. I'd highly recommended staying with Brenda while you're in San Francisco.

    Mark2010-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed staying with Brenda and getting to chat with her. Upon arrival, she had left me a map of the city as well as a list of some local spots to check out. I didn't get to visit all of them, but I hope to go back and try the rest. Her place was clean and quiet, and I enjoyed the time I spent there. I'll definitely consider her availability first the next time I'm visiting SF.

    Marc2011-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda was awesome and her apartment even more so (maybe). It was the perfect size for me and located in a great area. You will love staying here!

    Kayleigh2012-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • I was looking for a spot in a nice neighbourhood (with good coffee& wifi joints around, but also good connections for venturing out to explore SF) as a base for my 3 day stay there.. and Perfectly Located Castro was, well... perfect! Brenda was lovely, extremely helpful and friendly. I really appreciated her hospitaliy and personal recommendations of places around the neighbourhood, which offers so much in terms of eateries and cool shops. The flat is beautiful, and the room, very comfortable. It has great character, very cosy and clean. Location wise, it's a nice (and I felt very safe) walk down to the very cool Mission Dolores and Valencia street. Public transport links are also very good for venturing afar. In sum, I had a really fun stay - thanks Brenda! PS. For anyone who tays here in the future, I would definitely recommend starting your visit with a climb up corona hill, which is just a short walk away and give you a perfect panorama of the city.

    Misato2011-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda's home is absolutely lovely and she is a wonderful host. Perfectly located Castro is perfect-near public transport, great restaurants and shopping. You will feel like a true SF local staying here.

    Chantal Valencia2012-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic stay. Brenda's place certainly is 'Perfectly Located' with everything I needed within easy travelling distance. Brenda herself was very welcoming and made me feel more like a friend than a paying guest. She leads a busy lifestyle, but was always there when I had any questions, and recommended many fantastic restaurants and places to visit. As for the room, it is a perfect size for a solo traveler - the bed has a very comfortable mattress, which was perfect after a long flight, and the desk in the room is a good size, with enough space to work if you need it. The rest of the apartment is nicely decorated, with a light and airy feel throughout. I also had the opportunity to meet some of Brenda's friends and family and had some very interesting conversations with the group - thanks for that Brenda!

  • Great place, neat and clean in an amazing location!

    Mathieu2012-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific apartment. We loved the huge space as well as the comfortable and tasteful furnishings. The gas fireplace was a romantic touch. If you have mobility issues (can't climb hills), this place may be a challenge, but the location was very quiet. Overall excellent bnb, nicely fitted out, and in a cozy neighborhood. We even found parking!

    Richard2016-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • We rented this apartment for friends visiting us in SF from France, and it's even more adorable than it looks in the pictures. Our friends were thrilled with it, and frankly, I really wish I lived there. You couldn't hope for a better place.

    Mac2013-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • I loved the set up of the space-was really nice to come "home" to.. my studio space was like this so it's nice feel at home I almoSt didn't want to leave. The area is over a hill so you get to see view of the city and a short hike away lets you see more of the city. The room had a mix of Island feel/1920s/bohemian eclectic mix of things but all were useful and purposeful. It is on pricey side but worth it for second honeymoon or a treat if you can afford. The street is on a steep hill so know how to park and turn your wheels. Mike is really nice and met us around our schedules. It is quiet area, although my friends mentioned they were jamming a bit loud one night.. I was sleeping early, and didn't notice. All in all not bad. It was good experience. Would've been great experience if my friends had paid their full share of the space.. ended up costing me more than I planned for SF trip as I would not have gotten this if they didn't need a place as well. Had to cancel a place that would only cost me $111 for 5 nights instead of this $678 (551 plus the other cancel fee 24, plus $103 for another night at another place as this isn't available) for 4 nights.

    Kathy2017-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Was a great place to stay. Clean, cozy, quiet, confortable and close to down town. I am a light sleeper and here I slept like a baby. Thank you guys!

    Elizabeth2015-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful lovely place, much larger than expected! Even though it's a studio the curtains around the master bed help created some privacy. Mike and Nic were very communicative, even when they were out of town (their friend took care of the place and helped us with things).

    Angela Ruohan2016-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Good location with street parking nearby. Mike and Nic understand their position when their property is in use. Privacy was appreciatiated. Very spacious. Great flat screen TV in HD. Very clean and tidy and I was able to use their kitchen utensils which were adequate. After 10 days of use, there were no issues.

    Ernest2012-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in San Francisco. Mike and Nic's place is in a quiet neighbourhood just 20-25 minutes away from downtown (bus lines 9 and 9L) and 5 minutes away from the Mission (bus line 67). Although the area is quite hilly, as one would expect in SF, and the streets around Bayshore Boulevard feel rather dubious at night, if you are looking for a clean, affordable place to stay in the city this is definitely a good option. Could have done with comfier beds, but on the bright side we had complimentary tea, coffee, crackers and biscuits waiting for us. Mike and Nic were easy to communicate with and were fast and helpful answering our questions. We met Nic the last day and she was really friendly.

One bedroom sanctuary with a beautiful garden view and cozy fireplace. Comes with it's own entrance just steps from bus lines, train and all that Haight Street has to offer. Complete privacy with a separate bedroom, bathroom, and breakfast bar.
If you want to be within walking distance to Golden Gate Park, Haight St, Buena Vista Park, and Cole Valley, this is the spot. Full size bed in the bedroom with 400 thread count sheets and a pull-out twin in the living room. Just installed fireplace and large screen tv makes hanging out fun in the comfortable living room. Bathroom has a shower within the tub and white fluffy towels.
You will hear from many that this is the best neighborhood in SF. I chose this area for the many Victorian homes, the ease of mass transit, the walkability, and the abundance of parks, restaurants, and nightlife nearby. As a recent transplant to this area I can tell you that the stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and pubs are great here. I forget I have a car most of the time! Street parking is easy except for Wednesday 8-10 due to street cleaning.
  • Great place. Clean, quiet and friendly. Super location. Wished we had more time in the city -- we would have stayed here longer. Highly recommended.

    Trey2014-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Sara was a very warm and accommodating host, making us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. The property itself is a characterful self contained apartment, in a lovely old Victorian house up in the Haight district, which is perfect as a base to explore the delights of San Francisco. A highly recommended listing and I would book again without hesitation.

    Lee2014-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Loved Sara's place just north of Haight. It was exactly as described with a larger bedroom than I'd expected with plenty of room for us and our 2 year old. Light and airy but also super cosy with a gorgeous fire. Parking was really easy and we found on-street spots right outside on both sides of the street (for street cleaning day). The neighbourhood was great - not sure I'd spend too long on Haight itself but really near Golden Gate Park and with some nice neighbourhood restaurants (we liked Zazie for breakfast and Sparrow for lunch). Easy hop into town on the 71 bus, and you can even switch route half way to the historic trolley buses. Very much appreciated Sara's help with questions in advance, and we both particularly enjoyed the nicely stocked fridge as we spent the first night enjoying a beer in front of the (very warm and cosy) fire. Lovely spot to stay that opened up a whole new neighbourhood to us.

    Shelly2014-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Sara was very accommodating. She was up to greet us before 7am when we flew in from Hawaii on an overnight flight. She allowed us into the apartment early so we could catch up on sleep before setting off the explore the city in the afternoon. She offered help and advice and was available when we needed her.

    Mary2016-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location!!! Did I say perfect location. Very bright and airy and completely comfortable. A wonderful coffee shop and brewery 2 blocks down hill. I would definitely stay here again.

    Peter2016-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay, Sara's place is in a great location and really lovely. Would recommend to stay. Friendly host, fast response to any request and very helpful.

  • "If you're going to San Francisco..." Presuming you are of a certain age, you'll recognize those lyrics. And if you have a hankering to stay in the beautiful Haight district, you'll do well to consider staying in this ground level apartment with a handsome backyard patio overflowing with vegetation. Conveniently located near bus and train lines, as well as the sprawling Golden Gate Park, this apartment offers quiet and comfortable solitude only a couple blocks away from lively Haight Street. Cole Vally is nearby, offering a great breakfast and brunch restaurant, upscale cheese and wine shops, and an awesome ice cream bar sporting a decor straight out of Archie comics. We were in the city both for business and pleasure, and did a lot of traveling around town and the Bay Area generally. It was always a pleasure to return in the evening to the sedate comforts of this Airbnb. Also, our host was highly responsive to our queries and flexible too. Highly recommend.

    John2017-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Sara was there to welcome us when we arrived, which was great, she showed us around the appartment & let us know how everything worked. Sara was a great host she gave us instructions should we need her, but not at all intrusive & kept completley out of your way if you wanted that. The overall feel of appartment was really homely & comfortable. She had left us some complimentary popcorn & a lovely bottle of red wine which was wonderful! Sara's place was so peaceful. Positioned at the back of the house with a private garden to sit in & such a wonderful dog, Boo! Boo deserves a paragraph on her own. She stays away unless you call her down from upstairs, which we did quite a bit. My family & I used to call up to her to say goodbye when we left in the morning, if we hadn't, she just stays out of your way. My daughter loves dogs & would watch Boo come for a wander in the garden & then go back upstairs. Even if you not keen on dogs, this is a wonderful place as Boo has got to be the most quiet obedient dog I have ever met. Both beds were wonderful to sleep on, daughter kept comparing other beds to Sara's spare, and none came close. ( we were on a 3 week road trip from UK). Bathroom had great water pressure & Sara had left toileteries that we didn't need, but were a great touch. Location was fabulous, one block from Haight and close to loads of great shops, you will find everything you need in the Haight. Close to park which is fabulous if you have children, the park could take a whole day up it's so huge with lots to do there. Easy to explore rest of San Francisco, we had a fabulous time there & I'm sure you will too.

Private entry, sidewalk-level suite of living room, kitchen, bedroom and bath with artful touches in 1911 Edwardian. Close to beaches, GGate Park, GGate Bridge, groceries, cafes, restaurants on city-wide trolly line for memorable vacation/business/retreat. Easy drive to Marin.
The private sidewalk level suite, is clean and comfortable with original windows and doors providing natural light and fresh air. It's San Francisco living so you can be sure to hear the sounds of a trolley passing by and footsteps from people in the flat above. SF STR permit number (4 zeroes) 949
We live in a friendly neighborhood with cafes and restaurants, and are perfectly situated to walk or take local transportation to nearby visit museums. Step out the yellow door and there are walks through wooded trails to Baker Beach, the Golden Gate Bridge, Land's End, and Ocean Beach -- to the Legion of Honor Museum in Lincoln Park, the DeYoung Museum and/or the Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park, with its lakes and beautiful gardens of the Arboretum. If you prefer to sidewalk explore, it's fun to walk down Clement Street from 25th Avenue to Arguello, stopping in at the pubs and Chinese restaurants (little Chinatown) -- head a bit further to Fillmore Street, or take the full journey on the California 1 trolley (electric bus) - 7 miles to the Ferry Building (about a 2 hour walk) through the distinctly different neighborhoods that make San Francisco such a great place to visit and live. If you are looking for a movie and dinner -- Pizetta 211 and the Four Star Theater are just around the corner. There's something for everyone.
  • Dennis was a fantastic host! The listing was very cute and cozy. It was exactly what we were looking for. Dennis was very accommodating to my girlfriends and I! We had a few changes in our plan and we had a few house key mishaps and Dennis was very polite and forgiving:) Dennis and wife gave us our space, which was nice:) The location of the listing was great...very safe and quiet! And a quick Uber or Lyft ride away from all the shopping and attractions. I would definitely recommend this listing to others!

    Kenzie2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation was charming. Clean with everything you need. Kitchen had good cooking facilities but I grabbed meals from the cafe on the corner. Bed was comfy and warm. Nice quiet location. Right on the Muni line from downtown. Did walk to Golden Gate park and Baker beach. The park is great you could spend a few days there alone. The view of the bridge from baker beach was great and the perfect place to see the sunset. During my stay there was an issue with the hot water, Dennis and Nancy had a repair man out immediately and kept me informed of the repair. Loved that hot shower. Would highly recommend this accommodation for solo travelers or couples. Thanks again Dennis and Nancy, lovely to meet you.

  • Very good experience and really sweet and helpful hosts. Highly recommended.

    Malte2015-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable, cozy, charming, spotless, — all adjectives describing Dennis’s place. Quiet neighborhood, well laid out entry and departure. Delicious corner cafe.

    Olivia2017-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Good location in the Richmond District. Great neighbourhood. The small double bed was an issue for us. Really comfy but we just didn’t fit. My husband slept on the lounge. No TV either. We knew this booking the place but just to let others know if this is something you like to do after a big day of sightseeing. Owners were lovely and extremely helpful.

    Jacinta2018-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great local spots around the location! The neighborhood is so calm and beautiful. The space was great and had great San Francisco charm.

    Krystal2018-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderfully quaint and charming apartment in a lovely residential neoughbourhood. Though small, it has everything you need for your comfort including extra bedding and amenities like bottled water and quality toiletries. The hosts kindly accommodated a last-minute addition to our party (our teen ended up coming on the trip); he was very comfortable on the living room sofa with the extra bedding that was provided. Although San Francisco can get chilly, the apartment was super cosy, as it was equipped with a portable space heater, and our bed had been pre-heated for us courtesy of an electric mattress pad. Very thoughtful touches, much like keeping the kitchen stocked with basics like coffee, tea, sugar, cream and other essentials. This is just a really great Airbnb. Very happy with our stay!

    Yuki2018-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Dennis's place was very cute and had a lot of nice personal touches. He was easy to get in touch with and left very clear instructions for us. It is a little far from most of the tourist attractions, but there is a nice cafe and market right outside. The apartment didn't have heat, so it was a little chilly (we were there in February) but they did have a space heater, heated mattress, and lots of extra blankets. There is no TV, but we didn't really plan on staying inside and watching TV while on vacation so it wasn't an issue. You can certainly hear footsteps from above and we heard the dog running around, but its a basement apartment so that was to be expected. We were talking at a normal volume in the living room on Saturday night around 11:30 pm and got a message that it was time to quiet down, so just beware that voices carry. Overall, we were very happy with our stay!

The location is super convenient to shops and restaurants on Fillmore St. and we enjoyed being able to walk right across the street to Mollie Stones for morning coffee. Bed/bathroom both clean and comfortable with everything you would need. Highly recommend!

Communications and check in were effortless and the guys couldn't do more to make our stay more comfortable. We managed to get into a local restaurant, State Bird, they guys recommended and we really enjoyed it!! Thanks again and would recommend if looking for a well located and comfortable bed in San Francisco! Tony

They even let us leave our luggage in their place since we had a late flight. The area is great - lots of wonderful recommendations and centrally located to what we wanted to do. The bed is clean with wonderful sheets. The bathroom is nice and new - and I always appreciate it when hosts have extra towels! Overall, fantastic place to book and we plan on staying there for our next stay in SF!

Relax around the fire pit on the private patio at this garden Craftsman studio. Smooth concrete, edison bulb lighting, and chunky furniture create an industrial look, while the open-plan layout keeps things relaxed and comfortable.
This studio promises to absolutely take your breath away upon first sight. Cool and romantic, carefully decorated and recently renovated by master architects; the space gives you plenty of room to breath while still retaining a sense of invigorating calm. Abundantly spacious with the addition of our beautiful back garden and shack - this home guarantees the stay of a life time.
The Outer Richmond holds all of the excitement of San Francisco while retaining a low-key feel. Nowhere else has unique and delicious eateries, a surfers' beach, museums, parks, hiking, and historical sites all within close walking distance.
  • What a wonderful place to spend a long weekend! The apartment is beautifully and comfortably furnished and there is some gorgeous outdoor space as well. The location is perfect especially if you like walking - the beach, park, restaurants and cafes are all very accessible. Getting to downtown or other neighborhoods is just a cheap Lyft/Uber away. I don't think we could've been any happier, will definitely consider staying again next time I am in SF.

  • Josh's place was exactly as shown in the pictures, it's very comfy and well maintained, and located in a nice quiet street about 2-3 blocks from the beach! We had such a good time there, we tried a few of the restaurants and cafes that he recommended and they didn't disappoint! Josh is very easy to communicate with and would defiantly recommend!

  • The apartment is exactly as in the photos, very stylish, spacious and comfortable. Great location, convenient, safe and quiet, and just a few minutes away from downtown SF. Josh & Lizzie were great hosts. We'd love to stay here again, and would highly recommend this place to family and friends.

  • Great space and good location. Perfect for our family of 4. Everything you need for a city break provided.

    Nicole2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time. The place was exactly as we expected. They provided everything you needed and more. The convenience of such a lovely backyard was perfect for our dogs. The location was ideal. We walked almost everyday. The nearby park and beach were part of our morning adventures. We looked forward to waking up in such a lovely place everyday.

  • We had a wonderful five night stay at Joshua's place in the outer Richmond district. It was very quiet and after a busy day in the bustling city it only took a smooth bus ride to return to our little haven for night. We took at least three different buses (the 31, 18, and 5) and were able to get wherever we wanted to go, and the bus stops were very close to Joshua's home. The basement studio was open and bright, very clean and efficiently yet very comfortably furnished. The big room had a kitchen, big table, desk area, chair and sofa, comfortable bed, with a large closet and a big (Website hidden by Airbnb) on two sides let in a lot of light, and the third side was all windows and glass doors to the sweet little back yard with a fire pit and flowers. We were able to park in front of Joshua's house the entire week (free parking!) and never used our car once. It was a private experience - we met Lizzie briefly and she gave us a vase for our flowers, but never met Joshua. However they live upstairs and were there if we needed anything. They provided clear directions and suggestions in a booklet. Since we know San Francisco and knew what we wanted to do, we didn't need advice, but they provided a great book of suggestions for out of towners. The location has the advantage of being only a few blocks from Ocean Beach and the amazing Lands End hikes. We found some good neighborhood restaurants nearby, although we most often ate in other sections of the city, and occasionally at home. A great place. Yes, we would stay at Joshua's place again.

  • We had a wonderful time staying at Josh and Lizzie's place! It is conveniently located close to Golden Gate Park, the beach and hiking trails. Groceries were easily accessible and Josh's recommendations for coffee and pastries were spot on! The apartment is exactly as pictured on the listing - bright, clean and comfortable. Our only recommendation would be the addition of wine glasses ;) We definitely recommend this place!

    Sarah2015-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • We found the apartment to be exactly as pictured and in a nice neighborhood very close to a beautiful beach. Josh checked on us but did not interfere which we appreciate as we like privacy. The apartment was well stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, towels, soap, etc. Apartment was close to great hiking and Safeway was close by. The only complaint is that the pull out bed was not the most comfortable for our 17 year old son but the other bed was very comfortable and that was ours so who cares :) I would definitely recommend to someone visiting San Francisco.

Beautiful 1bedroom with balcony, classic bay windows and newly remodeled kitchen. Only 3 blocks from all the best shops, restaurants and night life in the city on Fillmore, Union and Chestnut. Walking distance from the Marina and Presidio. Best neighborhood in the city!
  • Blair's condo is absolutely beautiful! It's located in one of the prettiest neighbourhood's of SF, it's quiet, very well decorated, equiped for making your own meals. We felt like home there and could see ourselves settling down in that kind of lifestyle! Shops are a few blocks down but you need to be a good walker ! Alot of steep streets to get to bus stops, grocery stores etc Perfectly located for siteseeing around SF, pretty central. Blair is very available to anwser your questions which is very helpful & nice. Overall I definately recommend staying in Blair's condo!

  • Blairs apartment was in a beautiful area, was magnificently decorated and we had a truly superb stay!

  • Blair's condo is gorgeous and in such a great location!!! As soon as we walked into the condo, we were blown away by the chic decor and style. Blair was also super sweet and always easy to communicate with. The location is in Pacific Heights, which is mostly residential, very quiet, and safe! We loved coming back to a nice, comfortable place after a long day exploring the city and would definitely love to stay here again on our next SF trip!

    Megan2014-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent stay!! This place is beautiful and the location is awesome. Blair was very helpful and easy to communicate with. We wore ourselves out sightseeing all day and it was so comforting to come "home" at the end of the day and feel right at home. This was our first experience with Airbnb and I'm glad it was, certainly recommended.

  • Blair's place is AMAZING!!! She is very easy to communicate with which made the entire trip a very pleasant experience. The location of the condo is perfect! We were able to see how the locals live. Close to Union and Chestnut Streets. Blair's condo is beautiful and very clean. There is a balcony off of the living area. A great place for a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. On my next trip to San Francisco I would love to stay at Blair's place again! Cheryl and Robert

  • Blair’s place is awesome! We used to live in SF for a year in 2014 and know pretty much about the city. And i can tell the location of blair’s house is the best in SF. Nicely decorated and well equipped. We enjoyed our staying here for 6 days. Would like to recommend anyone to stay at her place. Thank you

  • Staying at Blair's place was a great experience. The house is beautiful and very well-appointed; a tranquil retreat in one of the nicest spots in SF. Blair was super cool and made sure we were comfortable, and she has an impeccable sense of style. Everything went smoothly with the communication and check-in. A total gem. Definitely recommended.

  • Our first Airbnb experience was great. The house was beautiful. And the neighborhood was within walking distance to so many great shops/restaurants. It was fun staying outside of the hustle of Union Square. Would highly recommend this property.

30 day min. Parking space fits compact car only. Whip up a tasty brunch at the tidy, fitted kitchen in this modern studio. Expansive windows grace the stylish, neatly arranged layout with plentiful light.
Our studio includes parking for a compact, midsize, or entry-level luxury car. If your car doesn't fit (SUVs won't fit) you'll need to use street parking, which is metered, or pay for parking at a nearby garage. Check-in time depends on the day of the week. Absolutely no smoking is permitted in our studio. We also appreciate if guests avoid using strong perfumes/colognes while staying at our studio. This modern studio is located in one of SF's newer buildings. It has light brown floors, brand new furniture, and includes wifi and a 39 inch flat screen TV which streams Roku, Amazon Prime, Netflix and over 60 local channels. In addition to the everyday essentials expected in a modern home (heating, oven, fridge, etc), a dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, iron, blow dryer and a washer/dryer are included for your convenience. Our unit is extremely quiet; excellent for getting a good night's rest on a cozy queen size bed. The building's common areas are monitored around the clock for your security. The entrance to Highway 101 - southbound (to the Peninsula) and northbound (to the East Bay) - is 4 minutes away. We can provide a twin -size blow-up bed upon request, in the event 3 guests want to sleep on separate beds.
The building is located in the town center near the SF Civic Center, varied nightlife options, and tourist attractions. It’s just a few blocks from classical lures including the San Francisco Opera and ballet.
  • Graciela's studio was clean, new, and very comfortable. I lived here with my partner for four weeks between our move from Denver to the Bay Area. It was a lovely place to call home for a few weeks. Graciela was very accommodating with my check in given that I arrived from Denver with four suitcases before my check in time. While we were there, SF experienced some seriously hot days and she graciously purchased a fan for us during that period. The studio is in the Tenderloin which has a reputation for a reason but I felt safe during the day but rarely ventured off at night when I imagine things get a little seedier (Graciela equipped the tv with Netflix so why would I leave...). Thanks for a great stay, Graciela!

    Jenna2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • A great cozy apartment-modest and modern and just as described in the photos. Land lady is good and responsive. Me and my husband had a lovely stay and will definitely be back in our next visit.

    Evangeline2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed almost 1 month and a half in their apartment. The apartment has excellent furniture and the layout/furnitures are very well thought of. The neighborhood is very quiet and close to the Civic center. I would definitely rent again from Carlos and Graciela!

    Karim2017-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • I spent a month in this apartment. It's a great place - beautifully furnished, very clean, quiet, bright (it's a corner apartment, so lots of light!), and easy to make it feel like your own. So nice to have a washer and dryer and parking available if you need it. It's in a pretty central location and quick to get to most places. I was a little nervous being right next to the Tenderloin, and while it's still not my favorite neighborhood, there is a lot to offer and I never felt unsafe walking around. It's close to some great restaurants and theaters. Graciela and Carlos were very prompt in responding to any questions or issues I had and were great to rent from!

    Margaret2017-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Carlos' place is amazing. It's clean, comfortable and most importantly really well equipped. I did not have to worry about getting around too. Buses around the area to downtown are fairly frequent. I liked it that they prepped the place well before my arrival with shampoo, soap, dishwashing detergent, cooking oil and i do not have to worry about such essentials upon arrival. A Walgreen's is in the ground level of this building. Overall loved it and would come back to stay.

    Shi Tong2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • I loved the location of this apartment and the quiet of it. I stayed here for over a month and was very happy. Graciela greeted me the first day and explained everything and later attended quickly to the toilet which was running all night about two weeks in to my stay. She was responsive and helpful. I totally recommend this place.

Mingle and share with fellow travelers in an environment rich with experience.
You will be sharing this space with me and other Airbnbers! Three other private rooms are listed in addition to this one and the space is a tranquil retreat for travelers alike.
In town you can hear music at various venues every night of the week and the renowned Frank Lloyd Wright Civic Center is a 5 minute drive away. San Francisco is only a 20 minute drive South and Sonoma, the wine country, is 30 minutes North. The beach town of Bolinas is an hour away and is a scenic drive or bus ride to the coast. There are many hiking and biking trails close by with beautiful views including one just at the end of the street around a scenic, bridged island surrounded by a waterway. The immediate neighborhood is quiet and friendly and enjoyable to stroll.

  • We really enjoyed our stay! Great house, Great host.

    Fe2018-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • The house and property were very well taken care of, and everyone was friendly and welcoming. My only complaint was, due to the unusually warm temperatures, our room was extremely warm until 10 or 11pm, at which point enough cool air came in through the windows to cool it off, which made it difficult to sleep.

    Noah2015-05-02T00:00:00Z

  • Mathia's home was just as it is described, both in the description as well as the reviews. His home is very clean and uncluttered! He is very friendly and yet knows how to give you space when you need it. He was very accommodating to our need of keeping the large common area warm in the evenings so we could comfortably hang out. You will be surprise how cold can be in CA in the evenings! Thanks Mathias for everything! Will definitely be back! Miryam

  • Great experience. My first time doing a shared space AirBNB and felt very comfortable with Melissa and the set up.

    Kathleen2018-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Before booking, we messaged and asked if we could bring out two year old and three month old, who are very well behaved and relatively quiet, and were told it would be no problem. We were made to feel very uncomfortable, even though we were doing our best to tiptoe and whisper and ended up just driving home late the second night of our stay. Their description said minimal noise, but some of their requirements are a bit unrealistic. I also wish that when I had reached out to ask about our kiddos coming with us, they had just said no. Our hostess had a conference call at 7:30 in the morning and pretty much insinuated we not be there during her call, because she needed absolute silence throughout the house. Wish she would have just said her home was unavailable during these dates. We had a bit of a hiccup upon check in. My husband and I purchased the airbandb along with my mom and dad. My husband and I got there a few minutes after them, though, and because of some miscommunication on my family’s end, my aunt, sister and her husband met up with my mom at the house. Had I known this would happen, I would have contacted Melissa, but I didn’t. As bad as I feel that it did happen, we were all trying to be really quiet and I wish she could have been more understanding of the situation. We left as soon as we could for dinner because she seemed really irritated. This was our first time using airbandb. Everyone in my family who was there and overheard Melissa’s reaction uses airbandb often and has assured me this is a very odd situation and I should not be discouraged from using it in the future. I should have read the home description better. It was a very awkward check in to say the least. The parking situation was interesting. Only one spot for the entire unit. If you have two cars, plan on a good walk. We ended up not even staying the second night of our trip and drove 4 hours home late at night with our two baby girls because we were made to feel so uncomfortable. Every time my little one made a peep I rushed to her to try to calm her down because I felt so weird about letting her make noise. These people should not allow kids at all because it’s too stressful on the parents to keep them quiet. The home decor was very nice and we thoroughly enjoyed her husband’s artwork around the house. Just overall, not a great first experience. We could have booked a large suite at a hotel for much less. We are really nice people and we strive to be good guests. It was hard to do so at this house.

    Holly2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely adored our Stay with Michael and Melissa. We've been able to stay at many AirBnBs and felt extremely welcome here -- one of our favorites. The neighborhood is awesome and you'll be just a short walk from downtown, but far enough away that it feels cozy and quiet. For people new to the area, this is a great launchpad for getting into San Francisco, Napa, etc and the listing is right on in that regard. We found that Michael and Melissa were more present than most hosts we've stayed with -- we had some nice conversations with fresh fruit and wine which was such a nice, unexpected touch. Be prepared to chat since the upper floor was more of a shared space than we expected. Based on the listing, we did expect a little more privacy on our floor, but our hosts were lovely and welcoming so no big deal. Bathroom and bedroom are both wonderful with everything you need. The balcony was one of our favorite spots with a great view and a very comfortable atmosphere on the whole. Nice decor, beautiful light, highly recommend on the whole.

Your guest suite with private patio and hot outdoor shower (shared) in a bamboo garden is in the heart of Marin, minutes to San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito, John Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, and Mt. Tamalpais State Park. Whole Foods and Trader Joe's are right down the street, and downtown San Rafael is five minutes away, with many restaurants and shops. We're a short drive to Napa and Sonoma!
This listing is for a comfortable room with a private half bathroom, outdoor patio with Adirondack chairs, and an awesome hot outdoor shower under a palm tree in a bamboo grotto. Please note that there is no indoor shower. Please note: the "Agave Room" is attached to our main home, as it is our guest bedroom, but it has a private entrance. One reserved parking spot is included. It is in the driveway, which is shared with our neighbors. Your room is equipped with a coffee & coffee maker, mini fridge, robes, and a TV with Netflix and Hulu. Be advised that we have a detached, private, backyard tiny home studio that we also rent on Airbnb, and they will have access to the outdoor shower, which is available to anyone staying on the property.
The house is located a couple of minutes from Highway 101, in the Dominican neighborhood of San Rafael. The Dominican University is a 10 minute walk from the house. Whole Foods is a 10 minute walk down the road, and downtown San Rafael is a 15 minute walk. San Rafael has a variety of restaurants, bars, and shops. 4th Street is a great place to explore, with a multitude of eateries, including many different international cuisines. Nearby, approximately 10 minutes away, is the Larkspur Ferry. Here you can take a beautiful boat ride into San Francisco. Other local towns of interest include San Anselmo, a beautiful quaint town perfect for a stroll and some shopping. Nearby Fairfax is "the home of mountain biking." Fairfax is an eclectic community with restaurants, shops, and a brewery. Of course, you can't visit Marin without checking out Sausalito, the closest town to San Francisco, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. This community is extremely beautiful, with homes built on the hillsides, a houseboat community, and many sights worth exploring. Mount Tamalpais State Park is astounding, with breathtaking views, redwoods, and a multitude of hiking trails. Over the mountain, you will find Stinson Beach, a world famous surf spot with a relaxed beach town atmosphere. Our proximity to Sonoma and Napa Valleys is great. We often spend the day up there, as it is so easy to drive.
  • We stayed at Sean's place for one night. Everything was lovely, clean, and exactly as advertised. We loved the outdoor shower! It was a great experience and we would definitely stay again!

    Nicole2018-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great, affordable stay in a very popular, expensive area. The room was sparkling clean, it felt very private, and the outdoor shower is kind of a cool feature. One thing we weren't expecting was the hostility from the neighbors (several "No AirBnB" signs) but no one said anything to us directly--just kind of a "we're not really welcome here" kind of vibe. Also, aside from texts, there was no contact from the host at all. We're used to being greeted in person, and that warm welcome was missed. Those are minor quibbles, however, and don't outweigh the great stay in a great place. We'd stay here again, and we'd recommend it to any friends who might be in the area, too.

You'll love this large sunny space with a small deck overlooking the (partial) view of the bay. PLEASE NOTE: The available BR is a large living/dining room separated from the rest of the apt by a privacy curtain. The “Sleep Number” queen bed allows for separate individual comfort control for each side of the bed. The twin sofa bed sleeps a third guest; a fourth guest (5'5" or less) can sleep on the adjacent comfortable sofa (made into a bed). My gentle, older INDOOR CAT enjoys meeting guests.
Large, quiet apt complex overlooking part of Richardson Bay. Teensy bit of background freeway noise, barely audible with sliding glass door closed. My apt has some Asian-inspired furniture. The available room (combination Living/Dining Rm) has a queen bed, a twin pullout sofa bed and a comfortable couch (which can be made up into a bed for a shorter fourth person, 5'4 or less) with partial views of Richardson bay and a privacy curtain to close off the area from the shared kitchen/entry. Shared bathroom/shower/tub/sink. Great (road or mountain) biking and hiking fairly close by. Close to public transportation (bus) into San Francisco -- usually 30-45 minutes bus ride or Airporter from SFO. WiFi available--written info on dining room table--can't miss it! Places to rent bikes and kayaks are accessible by car, within 5 miles. Variety of good restaurants, gas stations, and grocery store are about 1 mile away. Coin operated laundry 40 feet away ($2/load). There's a med-sized plasma TV in the Living Rm. Let me know in advance what activities you're interested in. I look forward to meeting you - Morna
View of water and hills, quiet, peaceful, VERY safe neighborhood, good restaurants (Japanese, Italian, Indian) within 15-20 minutes walk. A 30-40 minute walk or 5 minute drive gets you to Starbucks, Safeway grocery store, pizza, banks, Chinese, Thai, AAA, Mexican, McDonalds, In and Out Burgers. Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s are 5-10 minute drive away.
  • Morna was a most gracious host who opened up her home to me. Her apartment is conventionally located in Mill Valley just after the Golden Gate Bridge. In effect, it is the ideal sport to explore Highway 1 and SF from. Despite staying only one night Morna was very kind and offered all kinds of food and advice to me! If your looking for a affordable, convenient, and cozy spot to explore the SF Bay area from, Morna is your host!

    Robin Tim2015-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay, and I highly recommend it! Morna is a great hostess, friendly, organized, and considerate. The space is perfect to relax, and the bed is super comfy! I liked the large desk behind the couch; this made it easy to prepare for my seminar. Also, the view outside of the bay is beautiful, and there are plenty of nice places to walk outside, and gorgeous hikes nearby. I wouldn't change a thing!

    Steven2015-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Morna let us know ahead of time that she wasn't feeling well and would probably be asleep by the time we arrived. Nevertheless, she did such a wonderful job getting everything ready for us, even leaving us delicious scones on the table! We were greeted by her adorable cat and felt comfortable in her home. Would love to stay here again if we are ever in the area.

  • Morna is a great host with excellent communication.

  • Morna was very nice. Her place was quiet and comfortable. Great view

    Amanda2016-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent location to explore San Francisco, Muir Woods and the Napa Valley area. Morna was very knowledgable and offered us lots of good advice, especially on different restaurants. The Barrel House was a winner in Sausalito. Room was as described and we made friends with Morna's lovely cat. Thank you for a great stay.

    Claire2016-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Waking up to the view is definitely worth the stay! The place is nice, cozy and calm. You can go out and go for a run with ease, not much traffic to worry about. Close to most places but far enough to get away from the noise.

    Gerardo2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Morna is an exceptional host; we immediately felt at home in her apartment. She gave us great ideas for restaurants and how to tour San Francisco by bike. Her apartment is well situated for reaching all the usual (and unusual) tourist venues. Although close to the busy 101 it is peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed our provided breakfasts and delicious coffee and tea. Seamus the cat was delightful, quite the personality.

  • Mary was wonderful! The space was amazing. The description of the space was perfect. We felt so relaxed and content. You are literally hugged by beautiful redwoods. It is a very peaceful and quiet location that truly gives you a chance to unwind and enjoy.

  • My friend and I had a wonderful stay in Mary's studio. The studio was clean, comfortable, and cozy. The redwoods that surround this studio are so beautiful. They really took our breath away every time we stepped foot outside our door. We loved that this studio offered both the seclusion and peace of the red woods while being only a 5 minute drive or 15 minute hike from downtown mill valley. Mary was super sweet and was there to welcome us in and gave us great pointers about the area. Thank you, Mary for a wonderful stay!

    Josephine2016-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay here! The description of the space was on point. The place was perfect or our weekend getaway for rest and relaxation. The neighborhood was quiet, cozy, and tucked away among a ton of redwoods. Mary was friendly, welcoming, and full of knowledge of the area. I definitely recommend this place and hope to come back in the future.

    Joshua2016-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • There 's no way to get the full impact of this space with pictures. It was a secluded tree house nestled in the Redwoods. Mary's quiet, thoughtful demeanor made me feel welcomed and respected. She gave me tips on how to best explore the area. A wonderful experience.

    Sandy2016-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Mary was a great host. She gave us very clear instructions on how to reach her home and told us everything we needed to know about the area. We had a lovely time visiting Muir Woods, which was within hiking distance of the studio, and visiting downtown Mill Valley and Marin in general. The studio was comfortable and private, with plenty of space. The price was also very affordable. I would definitely recommend staying here.

    Molly2016-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem in the hills of Mill Valley. This was my first experience with Airbnb and what an experience it was. The unit is separate from the house which gives you all the privacy you desire and the view was amazing. The deck overlooks the beautiful hillside COVERED with trees. Mary was the ultimate host who gave you your privacy but was very attentive to your needs. The unit itself was perfect for my daughter and I with everything we needed. Thank you so much Mary for your beautiful hospitality.

    Mark2016-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Mary is a fantastic host. And her house is located in one of the most impressing settings one could imagine. The place itself is just georgeous. Clean, tidy and tastefully decorated. It was a true privilege to stay here a couple of nights. We hope we will come back next summer.

  • Joe was a consistently great host to stay with, and the rental house is a charming property to boot! Joe was extremely helpful from the onset; very easy to book with, and was straightforward and easy going from there on. Really made me and my friend feel right at home. The property is in an amazing little space, very clean with a nice bathroom, on demand hot water, a small fridge, and very comfortable bed with a nice new TV. Enjoying coffee with the Chickens and the beautiful citrus trees in the back yard was a great start to both mornings. Looking forward to my next trip to the bay and hoping Joe is available!

    Peter Alan2016-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Joe was very nice and easy going. I need a few days away from family and surroundings and got exactly what i needed. The place is not fancy but clean . Good for one person needing a quiet place. Only draw back for me: No coffee maker!

  • Great place to stay. Guest house was very nice with all of the amenities listed. Bed was comfortable and location is very close to all that San Rafael and other surrounding cities have to offer. Will definitely stay there again.

    Troy2015-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely the best value if you're going to stay in the bay area. This place was way cheaper than grimy motels in the area It was easy to find, clean and comfortable. The location was within walking distance of the downtown area of San Rafael and pretty close to drive over to SF. Overall great experience :)

    Sydney2013-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Joe and his wife made me feel very welcomed. I met his wife and daughter and 3 chickens. All of which were very friendly! The place is cozy and as described. I brought an extra pad for the bed which really helped. The place is clean and the water gets hot quickly so not to have to waste! Parking was within a block in a safe neighborhood. I hope to have dinner at the Panama Hotel which is around the corner when I next visit in June. And if you're there on the first Thursday of the month, don't miss the local fair on 4th street! Good fun and music!

    Andrea2016-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Joe was a great host, friendly, but not intrusive. He made me feel welcome and was generous with offers of help. The room suited my needs perfectly, clean, private and everything worked as advertised.

    Robert2014-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place, and Joe is easy to connect with. It's small and perfect for one person or a couple, good location too.

    John2017-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Joe's place was clean and fully equipped for a comfortable stay! Joe is very friendly and welcoming. The guest house is next to their beautiful garden and the neighborhood is very nice. At first I was a little worried about the futon mattress but it was actually more comfortable than I had expected. My partner and I stayed here for a couple of nights over the 4th of July weekend because we wanted to get out of the city and check out the Marin County Fair. It was a nice stay and I would definitely recommend it.

Enjoy the beauty of Muir Woods from the comfort of your cottage. We have a natural stream that runs through our yard. You will have your own entrance to the cottage without going through the main house. **Important** Cell phone reception will be very spotty in the neighborhood. Unfortunately the Wifi connection is also slow. (Would not recommend doing work that requires fast internet.) The bathroom does not have a solid wood door. However, it has a curtain to protect privacy.
Spacious cottage in the heart of redwood trees. Enjoy relaxing shaded yard with natural stream outside your window.
Drive to Muir Woods and Muir beach.
  • My family came to Marin 57 years ago. I am in the process of selling my home and so have been staying at various places. Daniels place is one of the most attractive places I have ever stayed at in Marin...

    John2017-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel's cottage was perfect! Nestled inside a gorgeous tree lined street, we were immediately in awe of the Redwoods that surrounded the property. My son (14) especially enjoyed the tree house! Larkspur is lovely - a playground just down the road from the cottage, public library, hospital, grocery store and more. Daniel was the perfect host, replying to all my text and emails promptly and professionally. Its easy to track leaves, dirt and the outside into the cottage, so I suggest keeping a broom and dustpan in the cottage for guests to use. We slept like babies in the big bed, and my son loved sitting outside sketching the tall trees and listening to birds as I drank my morning coffee. Close and easy to get to Muir Woods, Muir Beach, Richmond Bridge to the Bay Area and more. Thank you, Daniel, for a perfect spot in the heart of the Redwoods!! We will definitely be back!

    Lisa2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Daniel's place! Finding the location and checking in was smooth and easy, although I contacted Daniel before he contacted me (maybe I was early). Check-in time on the site says 2pm which we planned for, but we were asked to check-in after 2:30pm. Not a huge deal but we were antsy for a post-hike shower! The studio itself is super comfortable and has most of the amenities you would need: street and private (gated) parking, comfortable bed with soft linens, towels, coffee, privacy. Downtown is a 15-20 minute walk, and if you don't make it there just stroll the neighborhood and admire the trees surrounding you. There is also access to a trail just down the road. Things to note, however: no full size mirror, kitchen and bathroom are separated by a curtain instead of a door, there is a constant low hum from the fountain pump, we weren't able to keep the window open due to a dented screen. These things were minor though and overall I would say we loved our experience!

    Jamie2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel was really great at communicating with me about the place and thoroughly responding to my inquiries! He was accommodating and made sure our experience was stress-free. My partner and I loved how close the place was to town (Wholefoods, restaurants, etc.), but also appreciated how it was surrounded by a sea of redwoods! Unfortunately, it was raining during our stay so we didn't get a chance to explore the hiking trails. However, from our window, we had a beautiful view of the redwoods and a little stream running along in the backyard. If you're interested in a home cooked meal be sure to bring your own spices/basic cooking ingredients (oil, salt, pepper, etc.). My partner and I cooked dinner during our stay. Fortunately, the place was stocked with silverware as well as basic cooking appliances (pans, a pot, knives, etc.). That aside, we had a great time and are interested in returning during the warmer months! Thank you, Daniel!

    Linda2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel answered all texts ASAP. He was helpful and friendly. The neighborhood was gorgeous and I recommend equator coffee in town!

    Iris2016-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Surrounded by redwoods. Short drive to downtown across golden gate bridge. Quite, clean and cozy. Would definitely recommend.

  • Overall great experience! Super easy instructions for checking in and checking out.

    Jess2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great little spot, has a kitchen, full size fridge and is nestled nicely in the Redwoods. There is a comfy couch and comfy bed and a heater if you get cold. I would recomend the spot to anyone who wants to be out of town feel.

Romantic hide-away for one or two. Unique charming cross between Ewok village, high tech Shire and Olympian Eyre: suitable for the eco tourist, road weary business traveler, honeymooners, bird watchers, tree huggers, athletically /aesthetically inclined artist nerd, exotic dignitaries, celebrity monks, training retreater wanting to experience nature by visit/living an experiment in social future building. In room refrigerator, electric water kettle, toaster oven and private bathroom. Ultimate quiet and privacy with separate entrance and house privileges, kitchen, laundry, hiking/bike trails, ample outdoor parking. WIFI, work on-site office facilities and many unusual options. The room is light filled all day with sumptuous down comforters and natural fiber linens to snuggle in for a long winter's nap. The 100+-year-old Heidi house craftsman style local redwood construction is warmed by old-fashioned fireplace of the same vintage, letting your imagination time travel to the age of dirt main streets when the Gravity train passed not far from our access trails. History buffs, globetrotters, poets, mycologists, physicists, jam with the achieved musicians and entertainers who frequent this house. The environs of the quaint southern Marin community offers many of the traditional seasonal artsy/athletic events: Mill Valley Film Festival, the famous Dipsea Race, ascending and descending the adjacent ridge, the esteemed annual Old Mill Park Fall Arts Fair, the birth place of mountain biking utilizing the abundance of hiking/biking trails - linking the Bay fronting the Portofino like Sausalito, to the majestic white sanded coast of the Pacific. Enthusiastic wind surfers and hang gliders dot the horizon. Jack Kerouac authored Dharma Bums and The Scripture of the Golden Eternity, near the trailhead outside our Canyon entrance. Access by trail to the property or ascend meandering stairs suggests minimum baggage maximum health. Smoking cigarettes is an unwelcome hazard on the mountain; the parking lot below allows. To fully enjoy the opportunity of being in this piece of paradise, 16 minutes from the Golden Gate Toll Plaza, be prepared to energetically relax. Enjoy organic gardens, honey from our happy bees, chlorine and fluoride free water, and take deep breaths of pollution free air. The makings are all here for your pleasure and appreciation. Seeing is believing. You will prefer a vehicle to get to the main road, if you don’t want to walk a mile and a half to Miller Ave., main street in Mill Valley, for public transportation. Inevitably you will want to stay longer than you have booked. Happy trails.
  • Great conversation, nice quiet place, lots of steps, but overall a great time. Can’t wait to come back again!!

    Bryan2018-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Faustin’s place is like she describes. It’s nice, clean, quiet, and yes it’s in the woods. If you need somewhere to eat she has a lot of great ideas. If your looking for a retreat away from the hustle and bustle, this is the place to stay. I would recommend it to anyone. Another plus is Faustin is a great conversationalist.

    Nicholas2018-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • its an adventure in time travel, back to the 60s. I was swept back to my days as a student in Marin. Beautiful redwoods on steep hillsides, clean air and peaceful evenings. Faustin's home has an air about it of colorful Funk & Flash. You expect to see J. Joplin or Jefferson Airplane walking up the stairs. It is a hike to the top but being in the trees is worth it. Parking can be an issue if you drive a large vehicle.

    Eleanor2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was my best AirBnB experience thus far. Faustin has a very cozy, bohemian kind of a place, with a whole lot of character. The room I was in was the only room on the floor and has it’s own entry door, so it was pretty private. Spiral stairs lead upstairs to the living room and kitchen area which I was welcome to use freely. Just outside the entry door is a balcony of sorts with a chair and lots of flowers and other plants…a great area to sit and sip some coffee, maybe do a little reading or contemplating. The bed (I believe a feather mattress) was very comfortable, and the internet was fast and reliable. The shower is a bit cramped and, as others have noted, there is a pretty steep climb from the parking area to the room so if you are a big person, and/or out of shape (and not interested in the exercise) that might be something to consider, although I should note that there is a lift for your luggage. Beyond the room itself, Faustin was a great host and, beyond that, just an super person. Every thing about this place was great. If I ever return to SF, I know where I'll be staying.

    David2017-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • DON'T bring any expectations! This place is not like any other. An amazing, quiet simple room like none other. Hidden in the woods up 101 stairs you'll appreciate packing light and planing to keep it simple. I think of this place as a vacation from my vacation (work day). The main house is a common ground to gather and meet other Airbnb travelers staying in the other wings of the tree house. Faustin's is an "experience" that's enhances you Marin visit.

    Holly And Dan2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • The house is an old school rustic style Mill Valley house, the kind that feels like a cabin in the woods. It's on a small lane in a quiet redwood forest, and after you ascend the stairway up the hill and past another house, it is even more secluded. However, it only takes a few minutes to get into town. Faustin and her helpers are quick to offer help, such as to offer to make breakfast. The room is private and has its own bathroom. Just above the room via a short spiral staircase is a living room and kitchen where guests and residents tend to congregate in the evening to eat or for conversation.

    David2016-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sleeping among the redwoods was just what I needed during my short visit to the bay area. Faustin was such a great host. Her home is cozy and beautifully filled with her unique collections-so comfortable you'll probably have a hard time leaving. But don't forget to visit downtown while your there, its only a short walk away along a fun meandering path through the forest neighborhood.

    Jack2016-10-06T00:00:00Z

Unique setting next to the San Geronimo Valley Creek. Across a footbridge and next to our happy chickens you will find your cozy little Nook. Situated close to Pt Reyes National Park and other spectacular hiking and biking trails.
This is a studio in a private hideout in Lagunitas, next to the main house. The property is situated in a gorgeous valley full of redwood trees, flora and fauna. It is separated from the main road by a small creek, with a walking bridge connecting the home to the carport though a password protected gate. Trees, flowers, and ferns populate the yard, bringing in little birds, dragonflies, and frogs. We recently built a pond with lots of fish. Hopefully very soon we'll have some turtles in there as well. The studio has an extra-long full-sized bed, 2 lounge chairs, a TV, and plenty of closet space. It's equipped with a small kitchenette with a small refrigerator, convection oven, sink, and 2 burners. The bathroom has a fully functional shower. At night you can see the stars from the comfort of the bed through the skylights. Stepping outside the studio, you'll see a lounge area with comfortable blue chairs, and the chicken coop with our hens (all named after famous female singers. We'll introduce you, if you'd like!). Beyond the fire pit is the creek. We have a little island where you can climb down and observe the salmon swim upstream, and the crawdads fight one another for their ladies honor. We are located within a 5 minute drive to Spirit Rock, 30 minutes to Stinson Beach, and about 45 minutes to San Francisco. There are lots of places to go hiking and swimming around here, and it's a great area for biking. As far as media entertainment options, the studio does have a TV with premium cable, and we offer free wifi.
  • What a wonderful little find! The grounds and surroundings were so quaint and loved listening to the chatter of her chickens. I grew up in the country and Linda's place just fit the bill for our stay. We were out and about so much we did not have the opportunity to meet our host. Thank you again Linda for offering up this great lil get away when staying near San Francisco.

  • Linda was a very welcoming host. Great little cottage with many Point Reyes attractions 30ish mins drive away. Little store down the street has all your basics and is walkable. Beautiful river and scenery all around!

  • We had a great experience in the tiny house. It was perfect. Love the array of teas as was needed once we arrived. The place was immaculately clean! Love the literature, maps, local brochures. Addy the dog was very friendly.

  • We have stayed at this little hideaway at least three different times and we are forever happy that we did and plan to return. Its location is quiet, yet right where it needs to be to visit Point Reyes nature areas. You're sure to enjoy! Eager to return, Mary & Mike.

  • Linda's spot is perfect and everything is described as it is. Great location and beautiful spot. Will be back for sure.

  • We couldn't have asked for a better stay at the nook- cozy, clean, and thoughtfully hosted- in a beautiful valley hideaway.

    Amanda2016-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Linda has a lovely cottage among the red woods with a brook along side the property. Lying in bed we were able to look up at the stars and clouds, quite lovely. There are magazines and maps of the area for your enjoyment. The only negative is the tiny bathroom - if you are over 6 ft tall and 200 lbs, you might find it a little crowded. Our son and family live in Fairfax, so this was convenient for us. We would stay again.

    Marjorie2013-09-24T00:00:00Z

Imagine falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves. This clean, quiet garden apartment is perfect for the nature loving city dweller. Steps from the beach, Golden Gate Park, the Zoo and more. Ample street parking and MUNI train 2 blocks away.
Private in-law apartment offering 2 beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable rooms. The bedroom includes a queen bed with crisp linens a down comforter, warm wool rug, beautiful art and closet and dresser for your belongings. The second room is a living space with a couch that converts to a full bed, a separate comfortable reading chair and lamp. The 42" flat screen is equipped with Apple TV and high speed wireless internet. The kitchenette is fully stocked with pots, pans and dishes. A microwave, toaster oven, electric kettle, 5 cup coffee maker, electric induction counter top range and small fridge complete the kitchen and make it operational for light cooking. Complimentary coffee, tea and a bottle of wine offered to all guests. The private bathroom is small but bright and clean with shower over tub, complementary shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. The private garden has a bistro table making it a perfect spot for morning coffee while listening to the waves and surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers. Ample, free street parking available in the neighborhood.
The "outerlands" as this area of the city used to be called is where nature meets urban, widely and wonderfully. Families, surfers, artists, hipsters, techies and eccentrics come together to create a multicultural neighborhood that is dominated by the ocean and the sky! Really I think the Sunset District is San Francisco's best kept secret. It is clean and safe and quiet at night. You are about a half hour from the hustle and bustle of downtown (by car or public transport). Out here the streets are wider, the backyards bigger, and free parking is easy to find. People who like the outdoors love the location, especially for surfing, jogging, cycling, and hiking. Typically the Sunset can be foggy in June and July, but is clear and beautiful most of the rest of the year. Fall is stellar. Yearly temperatures hover in the 60-65 degrees. Golden Gate Park is only 4 blocks north and is filled with absolutely everything you can imagine: free concerts, archery ranges, entertainment pools, beautiful gardens, a bison paddock, polo field, duck ponds, and everything that you could possibly imagine! Including, The Academy of Science Museum, De Young art museum, and Japanese Tea Garden, The Arboretum and Conservatory of Flowers, plus great hiking, running and biking trails. We're also a popular destination for marathon participants and concert-goers, with events nearby like Bay to Breakers, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, and Outside Lands. There is a beautiful 5 mile walking path directly across from my home. It spans from Sloat Blvd. to the Cliff House/Sutro Baths. Popular restaurants include: Thanh Long, Outerlands, Cliff House, Beach Chalet & Brewery, Celia's Mexican Restaurant, Sunset Reservoir Brewery Company, Devils Teeth Bakery, Andy Town Coffee shop, Java Beach Café and many more. Great choice of shops selling locally made surfboards, jewelry and art... The Last Straw, San Franpsyco apparel, Establish and The General Store just to name a few.
  • Heather was so awesome! We engaged in many wonderful conversations with her during our trip where she quickly became a friend of ours. Her property is so lovely and cozy and it was so easy to travel to nearby restaurants and other sites to experience the life by the Bay. We LOVED our stay with Heather! We hope to return soon!

  • Heather’s place was very quaint and comfortable. We loved the bed and enjoyed the privacy is offered. Also, the wine and chocolates were amazing. Heather is very accessible and nice!

  • Heather’s place was fantastic. It’s in a great location for exploring the city, yet getting away from the hassle and bustle in the evenings. Heather doesn’t leave you needing anything! The place itself is sparkling clean, has beautiful garden, comfy bed and any facilities you may need during your stay (including the use of a washer & dryer). The book with very personal SFO advise is very useful and the spots recommended were fabulous! The coffee & personal touches through the apartment were a real bonus and we felt homely from the start! Heather is lovely and her place allowed us to explore San Fransisco feeling like a local! Thank you Heather!

  • Heather is a warm, thoughtful host who offers the visitor a clean and inviting apartment that stands out from the rest because it has a patio garden off the bedroom with beautiful flowers and trees. A little bistro table invites you to enjoy your morning coffee, while on the kitchen table a bottle of wine, some chocolate, and fresh cut flowers welcome your arrival. The apartment is comfortable, clean, and located right across the street from the ocean. It is within easy reach of public transportation into the heart of the city, but it is far enough away from the city to offer a quiet respite from the hubbub of San Francisco. We loved our time there and highly recommend this apartment.

  • Heather was such an incredible host. The apartment is fab, really beautifully decorated, well equipped and the location was amazing for us. We walked to the Golden Gates park in less then 10 minutes and beach is just steps away. We had a wonderful stay and wished we could have stayed longer. A million thank yous Heather. Xx

    Julie2016-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what a fantastic stay. Our family of three loved both the neighborhood and Heather's beautiful home. I wasn't sure if it made sense to stay farther away from the bustle with only 48 hours to spend in the city but I am so very glad we did. We discovered a whole new San Francisco with a laid back, beachy, safe, non-touristy vibe. It was very relaxing to be able to just drift across the street to magnificent Ocean Beach for hours of playing and collecting sand dollars in the shallow surf, linger for sunset, pop home for a shower, then wander off to a delicious and cozy local dinner. Heather's apartment was so comfortable (that bed!!) and our needs were so well anticipated (organic coconut oil and honey to name just a couple) that it really did feel like home. We truly lacked for nothing but appreciated knowing that both Heather and her co-host LaRocha were just a text away. We would return again and again. Note: Heather's recommendation of Outerlands restaurant was wonderful, not only for dinner but also for the incredible bread that they sell by the loaf. That bread, coupled with a few other supplies gathered at the health food coop made for some delicious in-home and picnic meals.

The Richmond neighborhood is clean and friendly and there are lots of restaurants nearby. The Suite has everything that one or two people would need including access to the garden. There was no traffic noise at night and you access the suite with a code so you don't have to worry about a key. Highly recommended!

  • Su's place is in a quiet residential neighborhood close to the Golden State Park, The Presidio and Golden Gate Bridge. We never met Su in person during our 2 day stay, but she readily corresponded via Email or text. We had no trouble finding the place and getting in. The room was clean and we slept comfortably.

    Andrea2014-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • I was very happy with the space and how clean everything was. Su met me at the apartment and made sure I had everything I needed, which I did. The bathroom had all high quality appliances, and the bed was super super comfortable. The park near the apartment is beautiful, and I highly recommend checking that out. Parking can be a bit difficult, but public transit in the area will get you anywhere you need to be. Good stay.

    Paul2015-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • - keypad for lock is very convenient - spacious, airy, bright, private, clean - coffee/tea/chocolate are welcoming - pantry: microwave and fridge/freezer - plenty of outlets and abundant natural as well as artificial lighting for night time - wi fi signal is strong - comfortable bed, nice patio (although too cold to sit outside - summer mornings in Richmond district of San Francisco tend to be very misty and foggy, but wonderful to have open space)

    Ricky2016-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place was perfect! Exactly what my friend and I needed after a week of camping in the woods. Everything was clean and ready for us when we got to San Francisco. Linda even left us chocolates on our pillows!

    Patrick2013-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Super awesome host! We had a very short but great stay at Su's beautiful garden suite. She left some ghiradeli candies and had all the directions and information handy for us and we had a wonderful time in SF. Definitely wound recommend staying there over any hotel!

  • I had a wonderful stay at Su´s. The location is perfect for long walks or for running in Golden Gate Park! I felf really confortable. • Sehr herzliche Gastfamilie!

  • This retreat is amazing! Upon check in we were greeted so comfortably by Chris. She had many tips for the area and showed us around the room. The area is perfect - so close to the park, yummy bakeries and public transportation. The space was so clean and quiet - a perfect retreat to the end of the day. A small kitchen area with fridge and fresh fruit and breakfast items were so appreciated. Travel guides, books and a beautiful garden setting beyond the glass doors made this the perfect choice for our San Francisco getaway! We can't wait to come back and would choose this Airbnb in a heartbeat!

    Blake2017-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Host was great! Even went as far as saving parking for us before our arrival (parking in SF can be a bit difficult). The actual place was extremely clean, nice and we had a great time. The place has it's own private entrance and is much bigger than appears on photos. Also half a block from Golden Gate park. Can't beat that.

    Marc2015-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • A spacious comfortable room with most amenities and a first class shower. Convenient for many SF attractions. All was clean and recently refurbished.

    Michael2016-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was extremely welcoming and a gracious host. Her studio is a beautiful place to stay. It was a close walk to Golden Gate Park, bike rentals, and public transportation. I appreciated how Chris checked in with me the next morning and flexible with my delayed arrival. Thank you for opening your home to visitors of San Francisco!

    Stephanie2016-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • I couldn't stay as I had to go home early but this is the review from my travel companion: Chris's place was a welcome sight for sore eyes and not to mention tired feet. The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious and clean. She was fast to respond to any questions and very accommodating with arrival times, especially as my flight was delayed by an hour. A true delight!

Please note: a 12% tax has to be collected on the nightly rate to comply with local regulations. Details are in the space description on this page.
The apartment is completely private, with its own entrance and staircase going downhill from the street (28 steps). It has one bedroom with a very comfortable queen bed, a walk-in closet and views from the south-facing window. There is a full-size washer/dryer in the unit, an ironing board and iron. The living-room/kitchen area has french doors opening onto a 7ft x 27ft deck with similar south-facing views as the bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave/hood, an induction two-burner, a small toaster oven, an integrated dishwasher and a stainless steel fridge/freezer. Other small appliances, such as a toaster, a sandwich press, rice cooker, blender etc. are provided. The bathroom has a large shower, a Toto (Japanese-style) washlet and a hairdryer. It's a very welcoming and comfortable space and it can accommodate longer stays. I strive for green living and avoid harsh cleaning agents whenever there is a good alternative. Street parking. To make life easier for everyone in the street I only allow one guest car. If you have two, please let me know before you want to book and I will let you know if I can accommodate you. The house has a view over Homestead Valley and is close to Whole Foods and downtown Mill Valley. Public paths and steps to downtown are nearby. Wireless high speed internet is included. A HDTV and Blu Ray/DVD player with access to Netflix, Pandora and other services is included, as well as a collection of DVD's available for use at no charge (we can have Netflix deliver DVD's on request too). We have an Xfinity digital starter package and I am happy to add other TV services or channels for longer stays on request. On-demand shows and films are extra and if you add anything that will be billed to us you must let us know and the cost will be charged as an extra service through Airbnb. There is a turntable with an eclectic collection of vintage vinyl (they are also available for purchase), portable speakers if you prefer to listen to music on your phone, a guitar and a couple of other instruments. For coffee lovers there is a burr grinder, a french press, filter coffee maker and an Italian stove top 'moka'. And a milk frother if you want to make cappuccino. We provide coffee beans so you can grind them to fit whatever method you choose. Please let me know if I can answer any questions regarding the house or the area. Viewing can be arranged easily, since I work from home. Additional cleaning will be arranged every 2 weeks for longer stays and will be added to the total at time of reservation. To comply with local regulations there will be an additional 12% tax applied to the nightly rate for stays under 30 days. This will be collected at check-in and in cash, to avoid additional Airbnb fees. An inflatable mattress is available on request if two guests are not sharing the same bed.
Residential, quiet neighborhood but with easy access to Miller Avenue and downtown shopping, restaurants and bus stops. You will be surrounded by trees, hiking trails and views. You will be immersed in nature but still be very close to all the amenities.
  • Stayed here for a weekend. 5 minutes from downtown Mill Valley, 20 minutes to golden gate bridge, less than an hour from Napa/Sonoma wine country. Great, clean space with very up to date appliances. The patio deck has nice views and a hammock to relax and drink wine. Street parking was easy the entire time we were there. Check in was easy and the host made sure to contact us and make sure everything was fine. Highly recommended.

  • What a wonderful place to stay. My partner and I love California and, having decided to return to the San Francisco area for an extended period, chose Alessandra's apartment in Mill Valley for our base. The apartment was in an ideal location, close to bars, restaurants and shops and a short drive to Sausalito, Tiburon, Mount Tam and Muir Woods. If you are feeling energetic, you can also walk to downtown Mill Valley, where there are more restaurants and bars. The apartment is cozy and comfortable and the blankets in the walk-in wardrobe were a welcome touch when the temperature dropped in the evening. Although Alessandra was unable to meet us on our arrival at the property, excellent detailed instructions and photos on how to get there and where to park were given in advance, so we were able to find the property without any problems. And the day after our arrival, Alessandra visited us to ensure we had everything we needed, showing us how things worked and offering suggestions on things to do in the area during our stay. All communication prior to our stay was excellent and Alessandra responded promptly if I had any queries. All in all, our stay was excellent and we would recommend this to anyone looking for somewhere in this area.

    Sarah2017-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • It was a very pleasurable short stay. The house is a gem, nicely decorated, very functional and cozy space. The was everything you can imagine for a living from cooking supplies and appliances to washer and dryer. The bed was very comfortable. You won't regret staying with Alessandra!

  • Alessandra was a great host! Very warm and welcoming. She went above and beyond as a host. Lots of nice touches on arrival with lighting and music in the apartment. Very clean and the pictures are accurate. Communication was excellent and she really made sure I had everything I needed and was comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. Mill Valley is a great town and this apartment is in a great location.

  • Thanks so much for going above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and awesome!

    Anna2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • The place was as advertised and had everything we needed. Enjoyed the deck for a cup of coffee in the morning and catching up on emails at night. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Very comfortable stay, clean and spacious. Alessandra made the experience so much more enjoyable. Great views from balcony too!

  • This is a beautiful space situated in one of my favorite areas in SF, right on the beautiful Mill Valley hillside. Only a couple minutes to some delicious and cozy cafes and restaurants, and redwoods at Muir Woods! About a 20 min drive to the Golden Gate. Everything was great!

Newly remodeled 1 BR/1 BA, 600 sq ft private unit w separate entrance. The only living space on top floor. Great views, wireless, TV w local broadcast, minifridge, microwave, portable a/c unit, Keurig coffee maker, private patio, 2 queen size beds, and a couch that folds down into a futon.
This rental is for the entire upstairs floor of our 1952 Oakmore ranch style house. It has a separate entrance on the side of the home, and is located up one flight of stairs. The interior of the private unit is clean, uncluttered, and modern. There is a door frame, but no actual door between the sleeping quarters and the living quarters. Included within the unit are two queen sized beds. The one in the bedroom has a memory foam topper. There is an additional queen size bed in the living room next to a couch/futon that folds down into a bed. The beds are outfitted with 1500 thread count sheets, and the one in the bedroom has a down comforter. We provide clean linens, towels, shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner. We are a residential home and operate on a residential hot water heater. For that reason, we're best suited to host groups of 2. We also are equipped to host families consisting of 2 adults and 2 kids. We absolutely cannot host groups of more than 4.
Oakmore is a safe, peaceful residential neighborhood in Oakland. It is close to highway 13, making commuting easy. The house backs up to green space, and we often see deer running through the back of our property. The house is a very short drive to the restaurants and shops on Park Street, and in Montclair Village.
  • When yoy go to San Francisco go to Christie. Yoy have an appartment just round the corner. A lot if space in a good neighbourhood.

  • This cute Airbnb is stylish, clean, and comfortable. It was located at the top of a mountain and offered great views on both sides. Felt as though we were in the trees. Check in was quick and easy and offered us exactly what we needed. I would highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking to stay outside of San Francisco and to those looking for a more relaxed vibe.

Plan the day while sipping coffee at the white lacquer dining table of this stylish, second-floor flat in a Victorian home. Orange textiles, colorful ceramics, and board games are eclectic accents amid minimalist furnishings and pale hardwood floors.
Private studio flat on the second floor of a duplexed home with one flight of steps to get to the entrance and two more to get into the door. Street unmetered parking or a space can be made available nearby for an additional fee.
Situated between the heights and sites of Bernal Hill, known for its stunning views, the studio is close to shops, cafes, and restaurants, including some of the best taquerias in town. The Mission District is also nearby.
  • El apartamento de Jan nos encantó, moderno, nítido en limpieza, con fácil acceso a nuestros sitios de interés y con excelente anfitrión. Fue realmente como estar en casa!

    leonor2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay at Jan and Bernard's charming and well designed place. They are so thoughtful. They left out doggie treats for our little pooch and coffee and english muffins for us in the fridge! The listing is walking distance to all the small shops on Cortland, so very convenient. We'll be back!

    Sasha2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in the mission district. The apartment includes everything you would need. The couch is not big enough for two adults to sleep comfortably. Nice place.

    Evan2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jan's place is great... adorable in fact. I found it very comfortable for two adults. We brought our dogs and I liked that the apartment was on the second floor so my dogs didn't bark at every dog passing by. The kitchen had everything we needed. Jan stocked the fridge with the essentials - milk, creamer (thank you!), coffee, orange juice, English muffins. Enough to get us started - especially for a coffee addict like me. The bed was super comfortable. I couldn't tell if it was a queen or full sized bed, but it was enough room for two adults to fit comfortably. The bathroom was roomy enough as well. Everything is brand new - so it all works. The water pressure is fine. We'd definitely stay here again (and we will). The neighborhood has a lot to offer for food. We tried the curry pizza place a few blocks away which was pretty good. If you're looking for a place near the mission or a safe place to stay in SF that you can walk around and get places... this is a great choice. :)

    Babette2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Spent a month at this studio and everything was phenomenal. Jar of cookies waiting for me at my arrival, after my own heart for sure! Very clean, very functional space. Having a private dishwasher and washer/dryer is a touch of class I'm typically not graced with! Location great as well. Nice quiet neighborhood, but steps away from the essentials: grocer, convenience store, drug store not to mention all the wonders of Mission and Valencia mere blocks away. Had a great time and Jan made everything easy. Cheers!

    Lloyd2018-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautifully decorated, and spotless little pied-a-tier in a wonderful neighborhood. On the Mission side of Bernal, you can walk to some of the best bars and restaurants in the city. Both BART and Courtland Ave are just a 10 minute stroll away so the location can't be beat. The space itself is bright and clean and our hosts were exceptional, they even stocked the fridge with breakfast foods and left us home-baked cookies, such a nice touch. All around, a perfect experience, I will definitely be booking this again.

    Alison2017-05-10T00:00:00Z

This is a lovely place to stay, just minutes from San Francisco. Halfway between an apartment and a hotel suite, it is the 1st floor of a 3 story building with a private entrance and an exclusive driveway. Please read our numerous glowing reviews.
Sausalito is a great place to spend a night...or a few decades (I came here for three months from NYC...thirty years ago). If you're visiting San Francisco, this little village is right on the north side of the Golden Gate Bridge...a charming alternative to big city hotels. It's a convenient HQ for trips to SF with easy access to the California Coast and the Wine Country. Nightly rates range from $99 for isolated single dates to over $200 for holidays and special events (when a minimum number of nights may be in effect). This recently renovated modern unit is like a luxurious hotel suite with a private entrance and no other access from the rest of the building. It's like a studio apartment without a kitchen (just a microwave, beverage cooler, and coffee maker). A separate bedroom and closet behind french doors (shown open and closed in the photos) with a comfy queen-size bed. A living area with a beautiful sectional, gas fireplace (ignited by a remote). There's a small dining area and breakfast bar. Bathroom with Jacuzzi tub (with a European-style hand-held shower head, not one mounted on the wall), bathroom sundries and separate WC. It also has a big screen TV (with cable) in the main room and a second little TV in the bedroom, as well as WiFi. There is no kitchen, but there is a beverage cooler, washer/dryer, iron, ironing board, microwave, coffee machine, coffee & tea, popcorn, condiments, serving supplies, and a private patio. There is a driveway exclusive to the Suite which leads to the private entrance but most Guests prefer to park on the street which, unlike most Sausalito roads, is wide and flat. Some cars which are low to the ground (like my litttle convertible) can't cross the crest of the sidewalk, so it's good that there is ample street parking. It is one beautiful floor, approximately 650 square feet, with an entrance off its own patio with two tables (the umbrellas in the photo were destroyed by storms...twice and are no longer there). There isn't a pool or luscious landscaping (thanks to the drought, the lawn has reverted to a field), just a restful and private enclave. I do my best to juggle the check-in and check-out time needs of the Guests, looking for a compromise between them to allow enough time for a thorough cleaning. It's a half-block off Bridgeway (Sausalito's main road), five stoplights to Highway 101 (five minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge and less than an hour from the wine country) with a bus stop at the corner and off-street parking. A private driveway leads to your front door (if you don't have a low-slung car like I do). It's within walking distance of the Post Office, Grocery, Tennis Courts, Schoonmaker Beach, Banks and Restaurants. Just minutes to SF and a short drive to the Redwoods, Beaches, and Wine Country. It is one mile to the Golden Gate Ferry which goes to downtown SF and The Blue & Gold Ferry which goes to Fisherman's Wharf. It's a great getaway. Feel free to ask any questions.
The Suite is two blocks from an upscale supermarket and walking distance to a dozen restaurants, from Mexican to Chinese to French casual. Within one mile, there are over a dozen; Italian, Mexican, Chinese, American, Thai...and Sushi Ran, one of the most-awarded Japanese restaurants in California.

  • Tedd and Charlesie have a lovely Airbnb which we would recommend without hesitation. As other guests have commented, the home bakes and plentiful organic products on arrival are very welcome and thoughtful. The rooms are beautifully decorated with large fluffy white towels in the bathroom and comfy beds and pillows. Nothing is too much trouble for the helpful hosts. Even saving spaces for cars outside their house and letting you know when you’ve parked in a red zone! Thanks again for your hospitality.

  • Perfect place for our family! Most hospitable hosts we have ever had.

    Josianne2016-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent hosts who went out there way to help make our stay as comfortable as possible. The details on the site are very accurate for what you get. The extra touches of having some supplies and homemade scones where very appreciated. Their local knowledge and the supply of visitor information was very helpful. If you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city but within an easy commute by good public transport links then this is the place to stay. I would have no hesitation in recommending Charlesie and Tedd as hosts.

Enjoy the sunny, plant filled backyard deck just outside your front door. There is a private entrance alongside the main house that leads back to the cottage. Easy access to everything in the Bay Area, great neighbors, excellent restaurants, coffee houses nearby. Easy to walk, bicycle and enjoy our usually great weather.
  • Chris and Barbara are the bests hosts you can imagine. We felt welcome from the first moment. Whenever we met there was time for a chat. Nevertheless you will not see them a lot. Everybody has to do some work or business. If we go to SF again, a stay at their tiny little cottage would be mandatory

    Harald2016-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great people to communicate with. They helped us with any questions and concerns about the city or surrounding area. Check in and stay was smooth and helpful.

    Edna2016-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • The backyard cottage was an ideal space for me. I felt as if I had a home and deck of my own. It was private, clean and comfortable. Chris and Barbara helped me with getting around using public transportation and they were located only 3 minutes from the nearest stop. No need to rent a car in this urban area. You won't find a better value for the location, price, comfort and quality. It was also nice and quiet with no hotel noises in the hallway. If I'm ever in the area again I will continue to avoid the corporate hotel giants and check them out again. Happy travels fellow Airbnbers.

    Savanna 2013-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara and Chris were warm and welcoming, and their backyard cottage was just as described. We loved the books lining the shelf in the room and the table and chairs on the back deck. Our hosts were also very accommodating and allowed us to store our bikes and luggage in their garage during our stay. Our young son also loved interacting with the friendly cat and dogs.

    Meghan2014-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful! Chris was welcoming and the cottage was comfortable and private.

    Mika2016-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Barbara's place is nice and they are excellent hosts. Using the kitchen and bathroom inside while our bedroom was in the bungalow wasn't problematic for us at all. Use of the full kitchen was very nice and Chris and Barbara were very accommodating and friendly.

    Fred2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Barbaras' little cottage was perfect! They were extremely welcoming and were easy to contact if you had any queries. lovely location. We had a car so was extremely easy to get to downtown Oakland or even across to San Fran, just being off the highway. Plus Little Ace was a great addition! would defiantly recommend staying here

    Teish2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this apt for my husband (yes just him, not me!) and Chris and Barbara were great. They responded very quickly and was totally accommodating to his arrival and departure times. My husband had a great time - their place was cozy, clean, well kept, and just what he was looking for. Thanks Chris and Barbara!

Our downstairs studio is like a hotel room with its own entrance, a kitchenette, bathroom and a comfy bed. Our home is close to public transportation and lots of shops, restaurants and parks. It is near the lively Mission district and quaint Cortland Ave. There is easy access to 80, 101 and 280 if you're driving south or east. Its best for 1 or 2 people, but might be able to accommodate a couple with 1 child. A small dog would be okay, but there is no outdoor area.
The studio is about the size of a small hotel room, with a queen size bed, smart TV you can watch your own streaming service on, breakfast table and chair, a side chair. There is a closet for your use. The kitchenette includes an under-counter refrigerator, sink, and microwave, as well as an electric kettle and a French press coffee maker. We provide coffee and tea for you to make yourself. There are glasses, mugs, plates and bowls. There is silverware, a can opener, a bottle opener. We provide granola, oatmeal and some light snacks or breakfast items. The shower and toilet are each behind a wall for privacy, and there is a heavy curtain separating the bathroom from the studio. There is a door for the toilet. However, the bathroom is not a completely separate room, so the studio is best for people who are comfortable with one another. Our studio is cozy and quiet, and with the curtain pulled to cover the glass entry door, it is quite private. There is no outdoor space. There is a smart TV and you can sign into your own streaming TV service.
Our home is in Bernal Heights. We are on the North-West corner, and our home has a view of both Twin Peaks and Downtown, although there is not a view from the studio. Bernal Heights is hilly, with great views, some steep streets, stairways and tiny parks tucked into side streets. From the park at the top of our hill, there is a 360-degree view of the City, including the bay, the Bay Bridge, the Golden Gate bridge, Twin Peaks, Downtown, Mt Diablo and south to the airport. During baseball season and at the 4th of July, fireworks are often visible from our hill. There is a very sweet commercial street with restaurants, shops and a library. Several parks are nearby for strolling, playing, picnicking and dogs. Our neighborhood is south of the Mission neighborhood, but still within walking distance of the lively nightlife there. It is quieter and cleaner than some of the Mission streets, but not so far from the center that anything is difficult to get to. Bernal Heights was voted America's Hottest Neighborhood in 2014 on the real estate site Redfin: (URL HIDDEN)
  • Wow! Fantastic location right near mission. Everything you need and more for a base in San Fran. Great restaurants within a ten minute walk. Angela was very helpful and communicative. She gave great tips on places to eat. The studio is beautifully designed and great for a couple.

  • Very efficiently designed space with all the amenities you need! Close to neat areas with good food and nightlife, and walkable to public transportation. The host has a great packet with recommendations at the Air BnB. We really enjoyed our stay!

    Meagan2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic, cozy space for a single or a couple located just outside the Mission District. The neighborhood has some great gems and public transportation is a short walk away. The space is very tastefully decorated, with a comfy bed. The kitchenette, typical for SF is tiny, but has everything you need. Angela was thoughtful enough to provide coffee, biscotti, oatmeal, and water. There is a small library and record player to help you unwind after a long day exploring in the City. The bathroom area in the far end of the studio is also thoughtfully set-up, though it could use a small shelf to set up toiletries. Checking in was a breeze and Angela provided some helpful recommendations to “show” us around the neighborhood. All in all, a great place to stay for a weekend getaway.

    Anthony2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Angela was a fantastic host who was quick to respond! Her stylish and charming AirBnb was located in a convenient location and was very clean and comfortable when we arrived. Would stay here again!

  • This was my second venture into the world of Airbnb, and my first sharing a space with an Airbnb host(s). I think it is safe to say most people express a bit of worry going into a shared space situation when traveling- there are so many variables at play. If I had any concerns beforehand, they were put to rest as soon as we arrived. From the Library Suite we stayed in, to the cats, to our hosts Brian and Stephen who offered up an abundance of great information about San Francisco, we had an enjoyable first experience (both in shared lodging and in travels to SF)! I recommend considering their home as you plan your vacation.

    Genevieve2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • The location couldn’t be better. The space is clean and ample. The Bay windows in the room made every night relaxing and amazing. The view from the windows is very San Francisco. There’s also lots of cool books and a great desk to get stuff done if you need to. Enough plugs for your phone and laptop and anything else you may need. The hosts were really hospitable but not intrusive. They are happy to chat with you, but they understand if you are in a rush. The room had lots of cool pamphlets for things to do and eat in the city. Lots of towels and backup shampoo and soap. :-)

    Erick2018-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed with my partner at Brian & Stephen’s place on a holiday. The room is great, in a good location with good transport links and easy to walk to most areas in the city (Castro, Mission, Haight Ashbury, Corona Heights). In addition, Brian & Stephen are great hosts, happy to share tips and historical information about the city. We look forward to visiting again in the future!

  • Wunderbares Zimmer in toller Wohngegend. Sehr gute öffentliche Anbindung und sehr nette Gastgeber, danke!

  • Jolie chambre, pleine de charme. Un bon séjour pour découvrir San Francisco. Bien situé, merci pour tout. Nous avons passés un bon séjour !

    Mathilde2018-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen's place is gorgeous. I personally really like historical stuff so just walking around his house was a great entertainment for me. Despite the antique environment, his the room is really clean and the bed & blanket is sooo nice. I really wanted to take the blanket with me. The two cats are really cute too. Stephen and Brian are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, so we asked them a lot. They also put lots of brochures in the room, so that was helpful too. Another thing was that they have a map where all the guests get to pin where they are from, and I was so touched(?) by that. I think it's really thoughtful of them and shows me that they take airbnb seriously. Overall, I really liked my stay at their house. Would definitely come back!

    Steph2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • We very enjoyed our stay, thank you Stephen & Brian! Everything was perfect, totally recommend this place.

Our large guest bedroom in a tranquil neighborhood is available in a cool, modern house with hardwood floors, high ceilings, and views of San Francisco.
Your room is a well-appointed bedroom with two closets, a nice bed, a desk, a chair, TV with Netflix, hardwood floors, and 13' ceilings. Our home has a view of SF, nestled on a hilltop with a park behind us. We love the house and are excited to share it with you :-)
A good burrito (and Huevos Rancheros in the morning) can be found at Taqueria Dona Maria, 3550 San Pablo Dam Road El Sobrante, CA The closest grocery store is Raleys, also on San Pablo Dam Road. There is a Trader Joe's in Pinole about 10 minutes away. There is a small park directly behind our house which can be accessed from the stairs at the end of our street which is perfect for running, or just a look around. For hiking, we love Wildcat Canyon and Point Pinole. Of course, you're a short drive from one of the greatest cities in the world!
  • Joshua and Emily are excellent host. Friendly people who make you feel at home. The bed is super comfortable and you have your own private bathroom. Parking is never a problem with a nice large open street. The view of San francisco from the bedroom window is a nice touch. I will definitely book again...I had a very pleasant stay. I like the two pups...very friendly and fun to play with...a house full of love. Thanks Joshua and Emily

NOVEMBER 2017: Kathy: “This spot was perfect. The neighborhood felt safe and boasts many lovely spots for a meal. The lodging was sparkling clean and exactly as described. Beds were comfortable, plenty of linens, bathroom boasted hairdryer, shower gel/shampoo/conditioner dispenser. Lots of tour guidebooks and reading materials on site. Wifi worked perfectly. Electric lock system meant not worrying about keys. There is a market within walking distance on Clement to stock up on necessities.”
JANUARY 2018: Fernanda & Family - We had a great time at Christine's place. This place is beautiful, comfortable, neat, clean, well kept, quiet, well equipped and the location is excellent. The neighborhood is quiet. It was a very comfortable place for my family. We always found a parking space nearby (within a block or two). It has markets, restaurants and shopping nearby. You can tell Christine makes an effort to make her guests feel at home, we found maps, city guides, books, restaurant menus, and all sorts of info that made our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this place!! San Francisco Registration: STR-(ON-FILE) Accommodations: Charming 2 bedroom with private entrance in San Francisco's Richmond District. Neighborhood: Walk a few blocks to the Presidio and Kid-Friendly Parks. The Richmond district offers a diverse culinary experience at prices that are more affordable than other parts of the city. The Clement Street Farmer's Market, on Sunday mornings, offers a great selection of fresh local produce and gourmet food selections. Public Transportation: Public transportation is within a 1 to 3 block walking distance. The closest transit lines are the 1 - California, the 38 - Geary, the 2 - Clement and the 28 - Daly City. We offer a clean, comfortable place in one of the worlds most popular destinations at a great value. When we are home, we can have as much or as little interaction as you'd like. Don't hesitate to ask if you need anything The Richmond district offers a diverse culinary experience at prices that are more affordable than other parts of the city. During your stay you will have a more realistic native San Franciscan experience than the touristy areas of the city. National Geographic Best Trips of 2015 lists: The Presidio, San Francisco (we are located right next to The Presidio & 5 minutes from The Golden Gate Bridge) From Spanish Conquistadores to Star Wars If the San Francisco Peninsula resembles a forearm ending in a fist, then the Presidio is the topmost knuckle-by-the-Bay. The virile park of viridian woods and knockout vistas can make travelers forget its original function was for war, not Instagram. To San Franciscans, it's both muse and playground—with the latest addition being the newly reopened Officers' Club, reimagined as a local hub for exhibits, performances, and dining. Established by Spanish conquistadores in 1776, the military garrison of Saint Francis and its 2.3 square miles defended the bay from any invaders tempted by the riches of Alta California. For the next 218 years, soldiers stood guard against the machinations of empires. But the English, Russian, Japanese, and Klingons—Star Trek's Starfleet Command is headquartered here—never came. The base became a coveted (website hidden) assignment. Officers dream of three things, the saying went: “to make colonel, to die and go to heaven, and to be posted to the Presidio." In 1994, ownership passed from the Army to the National Park Service. Now the Presidio is a self-sustaining trust, thanks to rents paid by one-percenters like George Lucas, whose Lucasfilms office here blessed with a Yoda sculpture on a fountain. (Critics prefer sculptor Andy Goldsworthy's nearly hundred-foot-tall “Spire," near the Arguello Gate.) But why nitpick? Instead, savor a hot chocolate after a hike on Crissy Field. Listen for the whiz-whir generated by bikers pumping down Lincoln Boulevard above North Baker Beach's clothing-optional sunbathers. Delight in the eucalyptus-scented footpath called Lovers Lane. The Presidio, young Skywalker! The Force is strong with this one. —Andrew Nelson, @andrewnelson Travel Tips When to Go: April, May, October, and November typically are the best months to visit due to the warm, sunny weather and minimal fog (providing better views of the Golden Gate Bridge). Weekdays are less crowded. How to Get Around: From San Francisco International Airport rent a car, or ride BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) to the Embarcadero station. From here (at the corner of Drumm and Market Streets), take the free Presidio shuttle bus (9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m on weekends). Where to Eat or Drink: Housed in the former mess hall, The Commissary at the Presidio serves light breakfasts, eat-in and takeout lunches, and a full dinner menu (reservations recommended). Award-winning chef Traci Des Jardins mainly uses locally sourced ingredients to prepare the Spanish-influenced California cuisine (salt cod fritters, Marin Sun Farms burgers, and roasted chicken with Marcona almonds and dates). Most seating is communal. To watch the chefs prepare your meal, request a (email hidden) surrounding the open kitchen. What to Buy: At the Presidio, Warming Hut Bookstore and Café, located at the west end of Crissy Field; the Golden Gate Bridge Pavilion; and the Fort Point Bookstore have the best selection of Presidio-related souvenirs, gear, and books. Practical Tip: To stay warm (and avoid looking like a tourist) wear long pants and several light layers if visiting the Presidio in summer (June-August) when the weather is typically cold and foggy. What to Read Before You Go: Set at the Presidio, The Enlisted Men's Club (Running Meter Press, 2014) is the first in a trilogy of military-life novels penned by late author and Vietnam War veteran Gary Reilly. Helpful Links: Presidio of San Francisco and San Francisco Travel Fun Fact: Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, the executive order authorizing the internment of Japanese Americans was issued at the Presidio. At the same time that their family members were being relocated to internment camps, Japanese-American linguist soldiers were training at the Presidio for critical military language duties such as translation and negotiation. The soldiers' training site, which reopened in 2013 as the Military Intelligence Service (MIS) Historic Learning Center, is open to the public Saturdays and Sundays, 12-5 p.m. Insider Tip From Andrew Nelson: Got a yen for nine pins? The old army base supports its own late bowling alley. Presidio Bowl is open every day and until 2 a.m. on the weekends. (Note: In the other direction, we are 5 minutes to Golden Gate Park, another National Park with museums, gardens, etc. Our home is located 2 blocks to The Presidio & about 8 blocks to Golden Gate Park).

  • Jon & Christine are really reactive by e-mail. When we arrived they were nice, really pleasant, helpful as they came to see if everything was ok in the morning. The appartment was perfectly clean and calm. It is quite close to the Golden Gate, and to the Academy of Sciences. There is a lot of buses coming around that can drive you downtown too.

  • Great basement apartment, sunny, spacious and clean. Good communication with host. Walking distance to great restaurants and attractions

  • We were a family of six in the appartment. Everything was just as promised, pictures are just like what we found. The appartment is comfortable and clean. The kitchen as big and super complete, with all you need and more. We cooked diner several times. We had a really nice stay there and we have a lof of fun in SF. It is really complicated to find a parking spot in the street, specially if you come with a SUV and specially if you come home late. Jon and Christine were very good hosts, really helpful and taking care of all we needed. Excelent location, we really recommend this place. Thanks Jon and Christine for the great time in SF!!

  • This apartment was perfect for the three of us on a guys weekend sports trip. Each one of us had our own bed, two of us had our own bedroom and everything we needed was provided including shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The place was clean and the kitchen was a bonus - we cooked breakfast on Friday morning. The back patio was also a nice retreat in a crowded city. We were worried about access to mass transit but the 38 bus line was only a five minute walk away and picks up every seven minutes. We felt safe at all times of day including late at night. If we ever stay in SF again this will be the first place I return to - thank you!

  • Everything was as we anticipated. The space was homey and felt like staying with family. We come from backgrounds where comfort rather than new and showy are important and this was a perfect situation for the four of us--very comfortable, very cozy and in spite of the less than ideal weather, we had a lovely visit with our daughter. Thanks!

  • Unit is clean; it is located on the ground floor. There are two beds, each in the two bedrooms, and there's a futon in the living room. Finding a parking spot on the unit's street can be a bit tough (like many streets in SF); drive around a bit to find a spot. There is a pay parking garage around the corner, however. The neighborhood is quiet. The unit is a couple of blocks from Geary St which has restaurants, coffee shops, a pharmacy, and a retail store all within a short walking distance from the unit. Our general stay was comfortable and Christine and Jon were accommodating as hosts.

  • This apartment was great for our family of four (two teens). It had a nice sized kitchen with plenty of amenities. Everything was clean. Jon was very helpful and it was great knowing your hosts were right above you if you needed anything. It's located in a very quiet, pretty neighborhood, and it is half a block from a major bus route that will take you downtown easily. There is a yummy bakery right around the corner. We would definitely stay here again and hope to soon!

Bella esperienza.

This lovely, self-contained suite will feel like your own private hideaway, with a beautiful terrace overlooking the city and surrounding greenery, and access to all the neighborhood cafes, restaurants and shopping you'll need to make your stay perfect. Although it's on the 4th floor with many stairs to climb, the view and privacy will make the effort well worth it.
This lovely 1-bedroom suite in Cole Valley has a bathroom, small kitchenette and private deck overlooking the city and takes up the entire top floor of our classic Victorian house. It is decorated with soothing earth-tone fabrics and charming seascape paintings, and will be a relaxing retreat whether you're in town for work or vacation. I will mention that to get to this lovely apartment does involve lots of stairs to climb, some of them up a steep spiral staircase, since it's on the 4th floor and set above the street. But the view and light are well worth the climb. (See notes on PARKING in last paragraph below) It has one extremely comfortable queen-sized bed and chaise with terrific views of the city, as well as a twin bed tucked away in a nook in the bedroom. It has a living room with a twin-size daybed that has a pop-up twin trundle bed underneath, to comfortably sleep two people. It also has a small kitchenette, a desk, free wifi and cable TV. The large deck also has magnificent views of the city. It is situated in lovely Cole Valley, and is a short walk to Golden Gate Park (great for running, walking, or just exploring beautiful gardens and nature), the Haight-Ashbury, and steps from public transportation (1 block to the bus stop, 2 blocks to the N-Judah train stop; we do not have a garage) and very close to the charming restaurants, shops and services of Cole Valley and the Haight (including a short stroll to Whole Foods and other natural food stores). This apartment is perfect if you're in town for work or just in town to relax and visit! In terms of getting to the apartment from the airport, you can take an Uber or cab here, a bus, the Super Shuttle or the MUNI train (it's right on the N line-- towards Ocean Beach if you're coming from downtown/ Civic Center; the N-Judah if you're coming from the other direction). Getting here with public transportation is very inexpensive and very easy. You just take BART to the Civic Center stop from the airport, and transfer to the MUNI "N" line, going toward Ocean Beach. Our stop is Stanyan Street (at the intersection of Stanyan and Carl streets). We are extremely close to multiple MUNI stops (San Francisco's public transportation system), so public transportation is easy, cheap and plentiful. However, if you're driving, please note that while we don't have a parking spot, it's a fairly easy neighborhood to find free parking in. However, while parking is free, it is not unlimited. They ticket every two hours from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, so you need to either move your car by 10 am (not too hard, there are usually spots to be found, and most people start their day by then anyway), or park in a nearby parking lot (Kezar Parking Lot is within a 10 minute walk down the street on Stanyan near Frederick Street, and you can pay to park all day for ~$20-~25 for 24 hours, should you want to leave your car there for the day). There are also some streets nearby (Rivoli street, for example) where you can park round the clock for ~48 hours for free and they don't ticket, but you have to search a bit for those spots as everyone wants them!
Strolling Cole Valley’s tree-lined streets often leads to a postcard-worthy afternoon. It's easy to spend a day enjoying Cole Valley's idyllic vibe, admiring the neighborhood’s Victorian architecture and snacking at its cozy cafes and charming restaurants. Cole Valley’s proximity to Golden Gate Park and Haight-Ashbury promises countless options for wholesome fun and eclectic entertainment.
  • Stacey's place was lovely and spacious for our family of three. Our teenage son took "possession" of the comfy chaise during our stay. The views from the bedroom and balcony were stunning in the sun and fog. Stacey was very kind and went out of her way to help us with a couple of needs. We made full use of the coffee shops and restaurants that are just a three block walk. We enjoyed our dinner at Padrecito. The biggest surprise was how easy it was to find street parking within a block of the house. Highly recommend.

  • The notes all over the house were super nice, and the shower was amazing. Thanks so much for everything!

  • We had a very great time in San Fransisco mostly due to Stacey's kind, helpful and positive nature. From the beginning she answered any questions very quickly and she helped us to have a great stay with all the tipps we could need. The appartement is very cosy, nice bathroom (!) and a incredible view of the city. The place is located in a lovely neighborhood, near from Public Transport and the Haight&Ashbury neighborhood. We highly recommend this place mostly because Stacey is such a nice host!

  • Fantastic view over downtown San Francisco from this apartment, also from the patio outside. Location seemed a bit out of the way on the map but ended up being perfect. Quiet, but only 15 minutes to downtown taking a MUNI (tram), nearest stop 2 blocks away. Golden Gate Park down the street and nearby cafes good also. Very smooth booking, collecting keys etc. Stacey very friendly, happy to assist with any enquiries. Comfortable bed, kitchenette well-equipped. Large bathroom. Good-sized living area with couch, cable TV. Wireless internet. Handy folder with information re getting around, restaurants etc.

  • We really enjoyed this place. We were with a family of five. The children (14, 14 and 8) slept in the sleeping room; we took the couch. The top roof gave a splendid view of SF in the early mornings and the late nights. The kitchen was fully equiped and we prepared some good breakfasts and a dinner. Shops are very close, as is public transport downtown. Although the owner was not at home we were in close contact.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Post Castro. Loved the room, the comfy bed, spotless bathroom, and access to the kitchen to cook our own not-restaurant breakfast. We could not have felt more welcome. Neighborhood clean and quite. Excellent all the way around.

Jeff and Mike were perfect hosts. After a helpful and warm intro to the apartment and the neighborhood we felt very much home during our stay. Their recommendations for food and sights were fantastic and right to the point. It has been a real pleasure!

We had a phenomenal stay at Patrick's place. It was very clean and tidy, exactly like the photo's. It was really beautifully decorated and had a great view from the room. Patrick was gone for our stay, but his cousin came to let us in and was very helpful throughout our stay. She was super accommodating and flexible to work with. The location was great as well. Just a block off of Haight street, which includes grocery stores, bars, and restaurants. It's walking distance to Golden Gate park, Haight & Ashbury, and even downtown/Fishermans warf if you're willing to take on the SF hills! I'd definitely recommend this place for your visit. I plan on booking it when I come back with my parents in the fall!
