Spend a unforgettable holiday in the enchanting surroundings of the town of Cisternino (reachable from the near airports of Bari and Brindisi). Trullo Edera offers a heaven of peace and tranquillity, set in an elevated position with a stunning view. It's the perfect place if you like nature. You can stay under an olive tree reading a good book, you can have a walk in the small country streets or go to the nearest beaches. You can even easily visit any of the sights in Apulia such as the caves of Castellana, the trulli of Alberobello, the baroque cities of Lecce and Martina Franca, the excavations of Egnazia, the zoosafari of Fasano, Castel del Monte with Frederick's castle, Grottaglie famous for its ceramics, Taranto, Brindisi and Lecce museums. Prices vary on period and are to be considered included: in-outcoming cleanings, towels, sheets, water, gas, electricity.
  • Wonderful! Fantastyczne miejsce dla ceniących spokój, ciszę, kontakt z mieszkańcami. Rozciągające się wokół oliwne gaje czarują swoim urokiem. Gościnność Any i jej mamy to dodatkowy atut tego urokliwego miejsca. Szczególnie polecamy Materę, Poligniano a Mare, Arbelobello, a najlepszą bazą wypadową będzie trullo Any. Domek i otoczenie naprawdę robią wrażenie. Domek jest wyposażony we wszystkie niezbędne sprzęty i przybory, jest przewiewny i wygodny. Czuliśmy się w nim jak skrzaty w baśniowej krainie. Szczerze polecamy to miejsce. Anna dba o swoich gości i zawsze służy radą i pomocą.

Everything was perfect. Anna is one of the best hosts ever. She took care of us from the very beginning - brought to the house as we lost when we arrived in the night, in our trulli waiti forus breakfast for the next day with homemade jam! The area is beautiful, we recommend Alberobello and Matera. Anna is a lovable person. Bravo for her !!! Thank you.

  • What a magical place. So few things in life live up to expectations. Anna's Trulli, any of them, live up to and exceed any expectations we could have had. You'd think you're living in a storybook fantasy. If you go in winter, like we did, it can get very cold in Southern Italy. The Trullo, however, was never cold. Trulli are very insulated by nature, and the heat works very well. Plus, it gave us extra reason to use the fireplace. The surrounding area was absolutely gorgeous, and in winter you get to avoid the crowds of tourists. We can't wait to go back!

    Andrew2017-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • SPECTACULAR. I can’t rave enough about this place. It is a dream come true. Ana and her family are so inviting and we felt at home. The trullo was spotless and beyond accommodating. If you are there, make sure you check out Almond down the street, you will not regret it.

    Aurelia2018-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing place. Anna is the most welcoming and warm host and she went out of her way to make me feel special and cared for during my stay. The Trullo is simply beautiful and true to all the photos online. The Trullo is located in a rural area just outside of the gorgeous town of Cisternino. Anna even came to collect me from the local supermarket as it can be hard to find for the first time. It was a fantastic spot for walks and bike rides if you have a bike. You must have a car to enjoy the local region of Puglia. I have no hesitation in recommending Anna's Trullo, look no further! Thank you Anna :)

    Pene2018-09-06T00:00:00Z

    Sina2018-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, lovely views and a very warm welcome from all the family. There is everything you need for a relaxing break but you definitely need a car.

    Carol2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • For years we have dreamed of staying in a Trullo home. The house far exceeded expectations in a quiet country location. Yet it was a perfect central base to visit the gorgeous and largely undiscovered Puglia region. We did not realize we were staying adjacent to Anna and her family's farm. We love fruit, and each morning found a few new fruits, grown on the farm, at the door. Some unrecognizable, all delicious. Anna, her sister and her mother made you feel a part of their family, and judging by the WWI war memorial in nearby Cisternino, this is a family with deep local roots. The house was very clean and well equipped. We have normally stayed in city centers on Italian visits, but once you see all the stars in the sky on the beautiful terrace off the bedroom, you will, like us, make plans to return.

Escape civilization to this incredible and peaceful getaway! Reconnect with nature and disconnect from technology on your own private deck surrounded by pristine and untouched nature just a short drive away from LA.
This is the personal Airstream of a nature-loving Malibu designer who built it as his personal getaway from his busy hectic schedule. Stripped down to its bare aluminum studs, the airstream has been redesigned into a large studio with three large frameless glass panels that slide open to a huge cantilevered deck with unrivaled views of the pristine Santa Monica mountains rolling down to the Pacific ocean below. Lounge in our luxury extra thick wool rugs and cotton poufs, drive down to surf one of Malibu's best breaks or go hike Sandstone Peak (Santa Monica's highest mountain). But whatever you do, make sure not to miss the incredible sunsets off our deck. At night, watch the milky way appear and count the constellations above or the moon reflect on the ocean below. And if the wind is right, listen to the sounds of the crashing waves travel up the canyon or even the seals barking down below. And then at dawn, if you're lucky with the morning fog, wake up above the clouds like you are the only person in this planet. VERY IMPORTANT: DO NOT CLICK ON THE AIRBNB LINK FOR DIRECTIONS as it might take you to the wrong location. Only use the accurate directions provided on our itinerary. If you don't you might get lost and we are not responsible if you do not follow our easy and foolproof directions. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS LISTING if you are afraid of nature or its creatures. Understand you are surrounded by thousands of completely untouched nature. You are very likely to hear (or see) coyotes, owls, seals, roadrunners and bunnies. There is a bobcat in the area but these are usually very skittish. There are a mice in the Santa Monica mountains. About once a month, a guest will complain that they saw a mouse. Said mouse might come into the airstream if food is left outside the fridge. We do not offer refunds if a mouse comes into the airstream but we do have 4 traps around the airstream so the odds are heavily stacked against the mice. In three years we have yet to ever see a rattle snake near the airstream so the area is definitely not prone to them. This listing is weather dependent. If there is a high chance of rain scheduled during your stay we reserve the right to cancel the reservation due to potential slippery road conditions and the fact that we have to store all the expensive furniture inside the airstream. The beauty of this experience lies in seeing infinite views and yet no trace of humankind. Sleeping with the doors open, under the milky-way while hearing the ocean waves crashing below and the occasional seal barking in the distance or coyote howling for its pack. Our guests have the most special nights here. Reconnect with nature and disconnect from technology :-)
Circle x ranch, county line beach, matador beach, zuma as well as many other hikes are all less than 10mn away.
  • A one of a kind stay. Great views and seclusion for a perfect night or two away from everything.

    Christian2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first AirBnb rental and what a way to start. Not sure if there is anywhere to go from here but down thanks to this little piece of paradise on the California coast. This listing is definitely not analogous to a luxury hotel room, even with its luxury pricing. It is an Airstream with simple amenities and an outdoor bathroom in the hills above Malibu. Expect rustic, expect natural beauty and expect to leave wanting to come back. The water pressure for the shower is great, for the kitchen sink not so much. The water temperature is dependent on the weather but the view of the Pacific Ocean from the outdoor shower makes up for it all. Be sure to get there in time to see the glorious sunset (it would also be difficult to find your way up the narrow dirt drive in the dark). I wouldn't try to cook anything complex in the Airstream's tiny kitchen. Bring a picnic basket and you will dine happy. And don't forget to bring the wine. Light the candles provided, set yourself under a blanket out on the deck, lie back and count the shooting stars flashing overhead (we saw five the night we were there).

    Mike2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Place is amazing! I surprised my girl for a 3 year anniversary and it blew her mind. Views are awesome and the Airstream is so well designed. It felt like a little home with everything you need to be comfortable. So cozy and again - those views! Bring some wine and chill on the deck for a few hours. Rani is responsive and super easy to communicate with as well. Read all the check-in info and you will be fine. Also - stereo in the place has an iphone hookup and sounds amazing! Check in and check out. Perfect little getaway. I will be back!

  • What a magical place to stay! This was the perfect place for a relaxing, cozy stay in what felt like the middle of nowhere, but just an hour from LA. The views were spectacular. Everything looks exactly like the photos.

This experience is not like any other, Hideout is not some fancy hotel, it is truly an adventurous experience, rustic and authentic right in the middle of Balinese village life. Hideout is a perfect place for long-time travelers, lovers of nature, a spiritual-minded people, trekking-lovers, backpackers, artists, musicians, and eco-enthusiast to have their own unique Bali experience. We are most happy with environmentally thinking guests, who treat this little bamboo home with love and care. We would like to share with you some of our guest's experience as quick PROs & CONs when you consider staying in this little Hideout. PROs - Solitude. The nearest village is 500 meters far. - Fully equipped kitchen. You are your own master chef. - Scooter for free. - Music. Stereo system, ukulele, drum! - Hideout is also a shelter for kittens, which is super cute and cuddly. You can also meet our friendly Hoki dog if we are in the garden with her. - You can experience authentic Balinese lifestyle, cultural habits and observe many wonderful things in nature. CONs - You can’t lock the bamboo house, there are no secure doors. But there is a safe box installed. - From time to time, villagers need to use the river for bathing (naked), washing clothes and performing ceremonies. - Hideout is part of local nature, our cleaning standards are at the highest, but that doesn't stop occasional insect, frog or mouse from visiting the house. Please consider this before booking. - Did you know that a spider can make a new web in under 1 hour? With our biggest efforts to keep the houses perfect and insect free, you have to expect that there will be some spiders, some bugs and some mosquitos. That is just nature and we can't do anything more for it. :) - The Internet is very poor and sometimes not working at all. We recommend being prepared for the off-the-grid experience. - There are cats and dogs living on the property and visiting Hideouts daily. They are all vaccinated and well behaved. Don´t book Hideouts, if you have an allergy or if you don´t want to be close to the animals. - We are not a hotel, we don't offer hotel services or 24/7 reception. We are true Airbnb experience. :) If you want a daily clean-up, please let us know when you check-in. Because the house is located near river and rice fields you will be in touch with nature. That's why is Hideout most suitable for guest which enjoy animals and are not afraid of a little bit of the wildlife. :) If you have any questions regarding living animals, please ask us in advance. The building has two floors, on the first floor, you can find a neat, fully equipped kitchen, cozy living/relaxing area (with extra hanging hammock), wardrobe with safety box, bathroom, and entrance to the outdoor shower. On the second floor, there is a spacious bedroom, providing king size bed with mosquito net (and extra bed 140cm - no mosquito net) all possible to accommodate up to 4 adults if needed. Right in front of the unique triangular window, there is large lounge bean bag for reading, cuddling and relaxing, the perfect place for meditation or playing a musical instrument, all with direct view to the shimmering river. Bamboo is well-known for its temperature stability, thanks to natural ventilation, there is no need for AC or a fan. There are no secure doors in the bamboo house, you can't really lock the house, don't be afraid though this is a very safe area. Recently we had an amazing time cooperating with SUKU Home. We are very grateful for this happy cooperation, thanks to the amazing collective behind SUKU Home products, our guests have the pleasure to experience their super smooth Bamboo beddings in Hideout. Ultra soft and delicate bedding made from 100% Bamboo Rayon, carefully & individually hand-dyed using a traditional batik technique. Hand sewn and made with love. Bamboo-derived rayon is softer than any high thread count cotton. They also have naturally antibacterial properties, making them great for anyone with sensitive skin. These sheets will keep you cool even in the hottest night. No AC required. :)
Hideout is in walking distance from a resort where you can have a lovely dinner in the restaurant with unforgettable view to Gunung Agung. You can easily reach many traditional small shops / warung. Beware that the nearest ATM is from a local bank, it only accepts Mastercard. International ATM is about 35 minutes by car away - do come prepared! There are so many things to explore around - by foot or by bike. Just to mention.. you can go trekking through the rice fields, you can climb Gunung Agung, visit Tirta Gangga, Ujung Temple, go snorkeling or diving, visit night market, visit shaman or local temples, go to experience Pura Besakih, have a wild day of rafting and many more.
  • Unique place. Great stop to sleep before seeing Ubud, etc. Best part is the shower. Dont be intimidated by the naked locals swimming in the river. They are friendly.

  • Alena has been more than a host, their whole story of the creation of this amazing hideaway was extremely inspiring. We fell in love with this place the minute we started our drive out there. It's located far from the beaten track and surrounded by rice fields and mind blowing scenery. Make sure to book at least two days to get the right feeling and to give yourself sometime to soak in all this beauty. It's extremely peaceful and a real treat to sit on the bench, listening to the river and playing with the baby kitten that comes for visits now and then

  • We were left speechless. This truly is heaven. A place to reconnect with Nature and meet warm hearted, welcoming people who go the extra mile to make sure you have the best time possible. We will return with no doubt. We suggest you arrange the transport to get here through HideOut as it is quite difficult to find it if you don't know where it is. Thank you Rumah Surga

  • This is a beautiful place to stay and relax, while very comfortable it is secluded. Ali, Jarmil & Wayan were all extremely helpful and responsive with any questions we had or activities we wanted to do. The house is a beauty for sure!

  • Hi Alena I just wanted to message to tell you how much of a dream it was to stay in your hideout. It was truly magical from the moment we walked down the path and then seeing the beautiful bamboo treasure through the sunlight for the first time was breathtaking. After studying interior architecture I truly admire the design and beauty you and your friends have created. It is a hidden gem set in a pure blissful location. Thank you for sharing. • Hideout was the best part of mine and my boyfriend's three week trip around Bali, and the only regret was that we didn't stay for longer. I award anyone with the imagination to create something so beautifully thought out and designed, let alone build such a place, which is truly amazing. Although it took a while to find Hideout was an ideal location for someone looking to escape the hustle and bustle, and for a couple living in working in London this was the perfect getaway. It was simply heaven to just switch off, unwind, listen to the wildlife and the fresh flowing river, eat the most delicious banana pancakes ever made, and feel at peace. What was even more epic was showering in what felt like the wild - sure did give me some laughs. From reading a book on the edge of the lake, swinging in the hammock or going to sleep with a clear view of the stars Hideout was an utterly magical experience. Thank you Ali for being so accommodating. Can we come back? X

  • Hide out is definitely a great place if you need some quiet time for yourself. Veryy close to padi fields, river which water flows from Mount Agung, and a very responsible house care taker (Pak Wayan). The house is well maintained n clean. Visiting great Mountain View Resort to have your breakfast or lunch is a def place to go! Eventhough its 2 hours journey from Denpasar but the journey is worth going through! Enjoyed myself on the water rafting n fishing. Thanks Ali & Jarmil for the great experience :)

    Anis2016-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We were the first guests in Alena's and Jarmil's Hideout and we immediately fell in love with their place. The house is entirely made out of bamboo and has its own powersupply using a water mill. We arrived by our own rental car and thanks to the driving instructions it was easy to find. The house is situated between two villages next to rice fields and a river in which you can even take a bath, all in all a very romantic scenery. Nyoman, a true Balinese from one of the villages who is there for you to organize trips is very helpful. Indeed we were able to visit a Balinese ceremony of his village with him which was very insightful. This is the real Balinese life, as he put it. There are many activities related to nature and culture that you can pursue in this place where you will probably not meet any other tourists. We only stayed two nights to climb Mount Agung, but we wish we would have stayed longer! On our last day, we visited a lady from the village who produces coconut oil and took some home with us for our own kitchen - pancakes are delicious when made with this oil!. We can highly recommend Hideout to people who would like to escape from the tourist-flooded areas in Bali and spend their holidays in a beautiful, remote place to explore the real Balinese culture and beautiful nature!

  • Absolutely stunning house perched over the river entirely made from bamboo! The only thing is the walls are literally made from paper so do not expect any kind of privacy at all. (not even toilet privacy) . All in all house is exactly as in the pictures, very spacious and breezy. Once in a lifetime experience!

    Les2018-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place is fantastic! The view is fantastic! One of the best stay in Bali! Super recommend.

  • We can nothing but repeat, what a lot of the other posts say: Bamboo House is absolutely amazing!! Better than any picture can say. We really loved our stay and didn't want to leave after two nights. The sounds of nature (river, bugs) can be quite loud at night, but we liked it. We enjoyed visiting the bamboo factory, another bamboo house across the river and the green school. Eva Nirvana is an extremely friendly and warm person, very easy to communicate with and her answers through email were fast. We would recommend the bamboo house to all nature and architecture lovers. Stay away, if the thought of a bat flying through your living room makes you shivering.

    Iria2014-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • A truly unique experience of staying in a house all made of bamboo. I would recommend a visit to the nearby Bamboo Factory to truly appreciate the bamboo house for the structural design, construction and materials used. The villa manager (Maggie) and the staff were very professional. Stay at Green Village is highly recommended if you are comfortable with a few bugs and bats invading your personal space.

    Sumeet2014-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is really a very very unique 'house' in the jungle! The setting on the cliff, in the middle of the tropical forest is already super. But the design, concept and building of the villa itself is truly a masterpiece. We will never look at bamboo with the same eyes again! The spaces, the views, the details, the service (breakfast, massges,...). Next time we don't go to Ubud center anymore (disappointing) and just stay in the Bamboo Villa as it reflects the true Bali spirit better in our opinion. Last detail: the small private and bigger 'public' natural pools are perfect refreshing oasis. Get there, it's unique !

    lucien2016-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is such an amazing space to retreat from life. It is quiet, lush, peaceful, spacious and very comfortable. I would liken it to spending the night in a luxury tree house, with open aired living areas and bedrooms. We were amazed at the volume of the home, which makes it a wonderful place to share with friends and family. Eva, the manager of the Green Village, was incredibly welcoming and very helpful with suggestions for local activities and transport. I would highly recommend the bamboo factory tour and the tour of the Green School. Both are an inspiration to the possibilities of this unique and artistic building material as well as what you are able to do with a dream. A truly memorable experience.

Located in the coffee region, in the Andean mountains of Colombia, South America, a charming cabana made from bamboo, with a great view and a "sendero" or pathway through the bamboo forest which criss-crosses our 5 acre organic farm, leading down to a stream. A place to relax and commune with nature.
Surrounded by beautiful rainforest plants, strategically placed for privacy, with an outdoor shower in a garden. Commune with nature, listen to crickets and night and birds in the morning. Situated on a small organic farm. We grow tropical fruits and trees, flowers, with aloe vera as our main crop. There is an enchanting pathway through our bamboo forest, leading down to a mountain stream and a small waterfall. Near many coffee region tours and attractions, including our own organic farming workshops, visiting a nearby bee farm where our neighbor propagates bees in danger of extinction, local coffee tours, butterfly emporium, hang gliding, zip lining, white water rafting, horseback riding, hiking, visiting nearby historic towns and world heritage sites.
We are situated in the heart of the coffee region in the Andean mountains in Colombia. We are in "Vereda La Pradera" neighborhood, near the small town of "El Caimo", 20 minutes from Armenia and 20 minutes from the airport, by car. Close enough for comfort and easy access, far enough from the hustle of traffic and city noise that you can commune with nature. Sleep to the sound of the crickets and awaken to the sound of birds.
  • The cabaña was as beautiful as described in the post/pictures. It is very private, it has a relaxing feel, and the outdoor shower/bathroom added a fun touch to the overall experience. The hosts are very easy to get in touch with and Yudy was very kind to stay up to ensure we made it to the finca (we didn't get in until about 10pm). The finca itself is georgeous!! After a delicious breakfast, we enjoyed the hammocks, walked to the creek, watched the different birds, before leaving to explore the coffee region. It was a great experience where we got to disconnect and enjoy nature!!

  • Yudy and Victoria's place is INCREDIBLE. It's the perfect little getaway away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The interior decorating of the home is impeccable and Yudy and Natalia (who live in the main house) are amazing. Yudy speaks very little English but we managed to communicate through hand gestures and (Hidden by Airbnb) Translate. The breakfasts were amazing and we paid for Yudy to cook us dinner one night and it was amazing! The home is definitely located far away from anything (like a (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) drive away from stores and restaurants down narrow dirt roads) but if you're looking for a getaway and something remote and beautiful, this is your spot!

  • Very friendly and helpful. A beautiful space to relax and get away from everyday life. I highly recommend!

  • Yudy was a wonderful host, she, Adela were such friendly persons. The food was amazing, they gave us good tipps, and of course the cabana was absolutly enjoyable. I will come back. Also the neighboor hernando is a great guy ;)

  • The cabin is rustically beautiful and tranquil, set in a garden full of flowers, trees and birdsong. The veranda opens out onto low growth with a background of tall trees full of flitting and feeding birds. We saw hummingbirds both from here and the outdoor shower, parrots and dozens of other colourful birds and butterflies too, waking and dropping off to sleep to the sound of birds and crickets. There is a twisting path through a dense bamboo grove to a small waterfall a short walk away. The land around the property is a large plantation, growing coffee, plantain and other crops, with a dusty track, several kilometres long, and houses set along it at intervals, backed with dramatic mountain ranges and drifting clouds. Despite our lack of Spanish, Yudy, Adiela and Hernando managed to communicate well with us, providing transport even when our bus from Medellin was 2 hours late, letting us know what local sites we could visit and taking us to the bus stop when we set out on public transport. We only wish we could have had more conversations with them, we'll have to improve our Spanish! We particularly enjoyed visiting Kasaguadua, near Salento, a fascinating, sustainable cloud forest project, the coffee plantation at Rucuca where we had an informative and enthusiastic guide and the botanical gardens where we taken round by another knowledgable, enthusiastic, english speaking guide. The meals we had at the house were simple, tasty and plentiful, Colombian style food, our hosts hospitable and friendly. We really enjoyed staying in the cabin, surrounded by so much natural beauty.

    Catriona2018-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is really something special, and probably the most unique Airbnb I have stayed at. It’s also a nice little “Finca” and Yudy and her daughter made our stay very memorable. Absolutely great service! We stayed for 3 nights which seemed fine for us. The place is tucked away in the countryside and you have to take the house taxi to get around. We used it as a base to explore the coffee region, rather than relax much at the finca, and that added some taxi costs to our trip rather than a stay in e.g. Salento. All in all a great experience!

The Joshua Tree House is a two bed two bath 1949 hacienda located 10 minutes from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park in Joshua Tree, CA. This is a place for dreamers to reset, reflect, and create. Designed with a 'slow' pace in mind, our hope is that you enjoy every part of your stay; from making local coffee by drip in the morning, choosing the perfect record to put on as the sun sets, or by relaxing in the hot tub surrounded by over 100 Joshua Trees and a starry night sky.
Instagram: @thejoshuatreehouse (all photos tagged with #thejoshuatreehouse) This house is very close to downtown Joshua Tree with many shops and restaurants about a 10 minute walk from the house. This also means that some sound from the highway can be heard. If you're looking for a completely silent desert experience, we would recommend our other property: The Joshua Tree Casita (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10614974). Please also check that listing if you can't find the dates you're looking for. Welcome to the Joshua Tree House! This hacienda was built in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) With over 100 Joshua Trees on the property, the views from the house are magical. If you're up for it, sunrise on the front porch is incredible. We estimate that some of the larger Joshua Trees on the property are as old as our country! *Mattresses and Bedding by Casper* There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms in the house, and works well for a group of friends, two couples, or small families. We can also set up an extra memory foam mattress in the hammock room (has privacy with pocket sliding doors) to accommodate groups of six.
Joshua Tree is a small community made up of musicians, artists, and explorers. In the village you will find locally owned and run restaurants, art galleries, music venues, and vintage shops. There are many wonderful places to visit during your stay at the house including the Joshua Tree National Park, Pappy & Harriet's, the Integratron, Salvation Mountain, the Salton Sea, Noah Purifoy Outdoor Museum, Crossroads, BKB Ceramics, and la Copine (a delicious new french restaurant in the desert).
  • The Joshua Tree house was very well appointed and decorated with an attention to detail. The bedding was extremely comfy and it had everything you needed for a relaxing weekend escape.

  • Loved it so very much - amazing, beautiful, magic x

    Rebecca2016-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a magical, extraordinary space! If you're lucky enough to be a guest at the Joshua Tree House, expect the most amazing stay. The interiors are true to the photos; Sara & Rich have create an incredible space, with so many gorgeous details that the house itself will truly inspire you. The kitchen is well appointed, you have everything you need (TV, apple TV, fast internet, aircon) and the most comfortable bed & fabulous shower. It was wonderful to sit in the jacuzzi at night, taking in the huge night sky full of stars. The cowboy pool in the front garden offered us relief in the middle of summer, after a hike at the National Park. And the sunrises and sunsets from the patio are incredibly special. The actual location is easy to find and near the main road, and you're close to cafes, food, petrol stations etc. The Joshua Tree national park is minutes away - and an absolute wonder. Hands down, one of the best Airbnb experiences I've ever had.

    Sarah2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was seriously the cutest Airbnb. It was so welcoming and all the aesthetic was amazing. Loved the hammock and hanging chairs. It's very close to the national park which was beautiful to watch sunset. Sara & Rich were nice enough to give many recommendations of things to do and places to eat. Thank you so much for our stay!

    Amber2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great, easy communication and everything was perfect.

    Katharine2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia was such a great host! She was very helpful and made us feel at home. The house is a real get-away and it definitely provided a great desert experience as opposed to staying in a hotel. It was quirky with fun decor and Cynthia planned everything to the last detail - including our iced moon teas and peppermint shampoo. She even hand drew maps for us for places to go. She was not there most of the time, so we had the place to ourselves a lot. The location is great because you can walk or take a short drive to all the restaurants near by (which are all local and amazing!). Joshua tree park is also a short drive away. Despite going there in the middle of the Summer in the heat, it was truly a magical time, and the heat adds to the desert experience of it all. So I would say, take a trip there in the Summer too! Did I mention, there's a beautiful clean jacuzzi with powerful massage jets? Check that out too! I highly recommend staying here if you are staying in Joshua Tree.

    Mai2011-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Joshua Tree House is magical! We stayed for two nights and enjoyed ourselves so so much. The beds are heavenly, and the decor is beautiful! We loved hanging out in the living room - there is a record player and a bunch of old school games. We felt like we went back in time. It was wonderful. HIGHLY recommend!

Appearing in numerous books on natural building, our cottage is a welcoming and cozy retreat hand sculpted of local, sustainable natural materials located on a lovely acreage with sheep, gardens and orchards.
Our neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. We are a ten minute walk from the beach and a twenty minute walk, in the other direction, to a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce, as well as galleries, a bookstore, and a spa.
  • Im actually not very sure if I want to leave a review since Im being very greedy about this place and prefer not to let anyone know about how amazing, beautiful, peaceful and special this place is so I can be able to book it for myself anytime I want! but here's my review:) Doesn't matter how many times you look at the photos before you go, you still won't know what is waiting for you and you'd be totally surprised by the character of this fabulous place and the lovely owner's hospitality. The cottage is extremely clean and comfortable, they have thought about anything you may need and they have put it there for you use. Overall you will be living a dream at Alexis and Manny's cottage.

    Sahra2013-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Manny and Alexis were great hosts and we really enjoyed our stay. We booked this place for our 10 year anniversary and weren't disappointed! A lovely setting, tucked into the back of there wonderful property on the quiet, peaceful Mayne Island. Cozy, filled with everything you need for a relaxing weekend. We were greeted with fresh banana bread, eggs and milk in the fridge. We also really appreciated help getting to and from the ferry. Thanks again!

    Tai & Kasia2016-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We were welcomed to this beautiful Cob Cabin with farm fresh goats milk and butter, fresh farm eggs, and a delicious banana loaf. It was a charming little country setting with chickens and lambs and the Cob Cabin was amazing in style and architecture. This is definitely somewhere we will come back to. We couldn't have asked for more. It far exceeded our expectations.

    synergetic2016-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend a visit to this unique home. The house is even more charming in person than the photographs illustrate. Mayne Island is beautiful and quiet. Alexis is a lovely and friendly host. She had left us a loaf of homemade banana bread as well as fresh eggs, butter, and milk. The bed and bedding was super cozy and comfortable. We spent our time there relaxing and exploring. A great getaway for those looking to experience nature, peace and quiet. The ferry was surprisingly expensive and infrequent but was also a fun ride and a chance to see all the mountains.

    Cara Lynn2015-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in Alexis's cob cottage!!! I bet everyone will be impressed by her unique cabin. Everything in the cabin is wonderful including the milk and eggs!!! And Alexis is such a nice, patient and beautiful host who gives us lots of information about hanging out on Mayne island. We saw deers, Eagles and seals, like what her said before:)) nevertheless, I believe we will visit this unique cob cottage again in summer time! Thank you Alexis!

    Xiaoxuan2015-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Alexis and Manny were kind and welcoming. It was fun to stay in this unique, creative, eco-friendly space! I loved all of the creative touches. We also enjoyed meeting the farm's sheep and chickens. Alexis kindly offered me some handspun, hand-dyed yarn from their sheep, Opal! I am excited to knit this special yarn into something cozy. We enjoyed exploring a bit of Mayne Island, and hiking on lush, mossy trails. The hosts were very supportive as we dealt with car issues, including providing a ride to the ferry. Thank you to Alexis and Manny for your kindness!

    Wendy2016-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Alexis is a wonderful and welcoming host, and the house was everything it appears to be (wonderful!). If you want a magical experience in a 'little cottage in the woods', this is it. Alexis was great with communication leading to our visit and was available (without being intrusive) throughout our visit if we had an questions or concerns. She made us feel incredibly welcome.

    Michael2016-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at the cob cottage, thanks to Alexis' and Manny's gracious hospitality. There were fresh eggs and a stellar banana loaf waiting for us. The cob cottage has everything you'd need, including different linens in case the nights are hot or cold. There are numerous cozy nooks to sit and read in, share meals, or relax. We loved making meals in the cottage and on the grill outside, and shared many laughs watching the chickens try to convince us to share our portions with them. Both day and nighttime is totally serene. As soon as we arrived, we wished we had booked a longer stay. We'd come back in a heartbeat.

With a geodesic dome loft & a large deck in the trees, you'll feel like you're in a tree house in the woods. Since we book so far in advance, if you would like to stay here, check out our other listing, the Hummingbird Haven: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/6562632. We have been listing with airbnb since July '09 and have had the most reservations of any of their listings! But you've got to plan ahead if you want to stay here.
We have 10 acres next to land without fences so you will get to enjoy nature: just hang out on the deck, take a hike in the woods, watch the hummingbirds, pet the goats, go to the beach or gaze at the stars - as long as the moon isn't full. ; ) During the summer, if there isn't any nightly fog, we can see the Milky Way here. To check our availability, click on the "Request to Book" link. And yes, if it isn't available, it is already booked! If you want to stay here on a weekend, you will usually need to make your reservation request about 9-11 months in advance. (Please read all of this description before making a reservation request.) The cozy and clean semi-rustic cabin has a loft under a geodesic dome (the "mushroom cap"). In the loft is a Queen-sized super popular Casper Mattress which allows for very comfortable sleeping and just hanging out. We provide clean sheets and pillow cases. Plenty of blankets are also provided. The other "bed" is a couch that we can make up into a bed. If there are going to be 2 of you, but you want separate beds, please make the reservation for 3 or let me know ahead of time - there is a $10. charge for using it as a bed. In the loft, we have a 32" HD Flat Screen and a DVD player (no TV) for movies. (We have over 80 movies you can view as well.) On the main floor (a Pentagon) is the couch and a pull-out table. We provide a small refrigerator, a blender, Hot Air Popcorn Popper, French Coffee Press, an Electric Water Kettle, (ask about our other appliances) a salad spinner and dishes. Yes, we have a wine opener. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals, games, etc.: 1 inside and 1 outside on the large deck that faces the redwoods. We also have a barbecue grill on the deck with an extra gas burner on the side. We provide Organic Coffee, teas, Oatmeal, popcorn, butter, honey, sugar, nutritional yeast (for the popcorn!) spices, oil and vinegar and various snacks. Our well water is treated by an ozonator, a UV light and a soft water filter. If you have a baby and you won't be needing the second bed, make your reservation for 2 and let us know if you will need a small pad for the loft. Again, if there are 2 of you but you want to use the second bed, please make your reservation for 3. The cute bathroom has a Travertine shower, custom tiled sink and a Natures Head self-contained composting toilet. Some guests have had a problem with our bathroom, so I want to make it clear that we have a curtain for the door to the bathroom and we require that you put your used toilet paper in the trash. (it won't smell) If you follow the instructions for how to use the toilet, it won't have any odor. If the thought of using a composting toilet grosses you out, then don't make a reservation here. ; ) We provide towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, a hair blow-dryer, etc. (a word of caution: the bathroom has a low ceiling. If you are over 6' you may have to do a little ducking here and there.) As Saturdays are very much in demand, (and we like to be free on Saturdays), we require a minimum 2 day stay on the weekends. Keep in mind that Friday and Saturday nights are $155. - $160. each. Therefore, to stay here on a weekend will cost $310. $360. plus the $35. cleaning fee, the $41 airbnb fee and the 11% Santa Cruz County Transient Tax of about $42. So for the weekend, it will be a total of at least $428. To stay for 1 day mid-week costs a grand total of about $200. On 3 day holidays, we require a 3 day reservation. (This includes Presidents Day, Memorial Day, M.L.King day, and Labor Day.) But to stay here on a weekend, you will usually have to book the cabin 6 - 8 months in advance - unless you are lucky to find a cancellation! Check-in time is between 4 and 10pm. If you want to come sooner or later, this can sometimes be arranged. Check-out time is noon. As we have experienced some damage from guests, we are now requiring a $100. security deposit. Although it feels very isolated here, we are less than 10 minutes to Aptos Village where you will find stores, restaurants, a health food store, Safeway, etc. We are centrally located on the Monterey Bay: 10 minutes from the beach (Rio Del Mar and Seacliff State Beach) as well as the 10,000 acre Nisene Marks State Park for miles of hiking or dirt biking in the Redwoods and along Aptos creek. We are 20 minutes to downtown Santa Cruz, 25 min. to the Beach Boardwalk, 45 minutes to Monterey and the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, 50 min. to Carmel and 1 1/2 hours to Big Sur going south and San Francisco to the North. Yup, we are located in one of the most beautiful areas of California. (these times are not during rush hour(s) ; ) If you love hummingbirds, bring your camera. Our garden is the year-round home to many Anna Hummingbirds. (We usually have about 250-500 year-round) During the summer, we are also called home by many Rufus and Allen Hummers as well. So you have got to see our "Hummingbird Airport" where we feed them about 120 oz. of syrup on a summer day! Please, no smoking in the cabin or on the property. We used to let smokers stay here, but they stink up the cabin and it is a fire hazard outside. Some cell phones don't work here, but since we have free wifi in the cabin, if your phone works with a wifi network, you are good to call. You can sometimes get Verizon service on the swinging seat by the driveway. To learn about things to do in the area, do an internet search for Santa Cruz, CA. Dogs are welcome to stay here but with a few requirements: since we have so many animals, we require that your dogs be kept on a leash when outside (the goats get very nervous with large loose dogs). Also, we don't allow dogs in the loft or on the couch downstairs so please bring a doggie bed. (your doggie can go on the couch if you bring a cover for it) If that is difficult, let us know and we will provide a doggie pillow. We have a gate that we can set up so your dog can be off the leash on the deck. If you are bringing a small child, we can put a folding futon (2/3rds of the futon or a foam pad next to the bed ) Just let us know ahead of time. Keep in mind, though, that a child should not be left in the loft by themselves as the bed is fairly high up against the rail. As we are about 3 miles to the nearest bus stop, it is pretty difficult to stay here without a car. You are invited, if you feel you would be harmonious here. Pet the goats, check out our chickens, cats, miniature dog and enjoy the very fresh air. I might even teach you how to milk a goat. If you come here when there is no moonlight and the sky is clear, you will see lots of stars. Tired of the heat in the summer? Since we are on the edge of the "fog belt", it can be both sunny and cool here. If you want a noisy place, you won't like it here: most of the sound here comes from the birds or crickets chirping, the tree frogs croaking and the breeze blowing through the trees. People do live on the land here though, so don't expect it to be totally devoid of human sounds and the occasional chain saw. : ) (We feed the goats oak branches)
Even though we live only a 8 minute drive to Aptos village and the beaches, it feels very remote and private here. It is usually very quiet at night - sometimes we can hear the ocean waves crashing on the beach. There is lots of land to hike on and explore here as well. We have 11 people living here in a rather loose community.
  • Kitty was very friendly and hospitable. She gave us very clear directions on how to get to her home in the hills and was available to chat with us and show us around. We loved seeing her hummingbird sanctuary and enjoyed our conversation. Hope to stay with you again sometime!

  • The Mushroom Dome is everything you hope it to be. Beautiful scenery! A warm and friendly host! And the ocean just minutes away! You won’t be disappointed.

  • We very much enjoyed our 2-night stay. The location was wonderful-- close enough to drive to some great hiking areas, and such a peaceful and beautiful setting in itself. Kitty and Michael made a point of coming over and introducing themselves (they were out of town the first night we stayed), and we cooked some great meals in our home away from home. Thanks!

  • I loved my stsy here it was fsr enoughbaway but close enough to Santa cruz. I loved the coziness of the cabin, and getting to hand feed the hummingbirds was one of the coolest and most memorable memory of the trip! Anorher first was the goats milk fresh!Thank you Kitty and Michael for the weekend!

  • My boyfriend and I had a great experience visiting the mushroom dome. We enjoyed talking with Kitty about her dad's geological research, and many other things. The house itself was fun and quirky. Looking forward to visit again and stay in their new hummingbird hangout! We lucked out with perfect weather for a February, so we were spoiled seeing so many hummingbirds and insects buzzing around, as well as a clear view of the ocean from a trail stemming from the dome. Thank you!

    Jenn2016-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Kitty is so warm and welcoming! We loved staying at the dome and chatting with her. The property is super beautiful and is pretty close to Aptos and beaches. We had an amazing memorable time! We will definitely be back!

  • We had a delightful time staying at Kitty and Michael's Mushroom Dome Cabin in Aptos. The area was stunning and the cabin on the property was peaceful and perfect for the relaxing trip we hoped for. Kitty was very welcoming. She greeted us and our dogs and made us feel at home. The cabin was exactly what we expected. It was charming and had everything we needed. We would definetly like to come back to Aptos and visit the community furher.

This inspired dwelling nestled right into the breathtaking Columbia River Gorge mountainside. Reverently framed by the iconic round doorway, the wondrous views will entrance your imagination and inspire an unforgettable journey. Every nook of this little habitation will warm your sole, every cranny will charm your expedition of repose. Up the pathway, tucked into the earth, an unbelievable adventure awaits!
The majority of your neighbors will be deer, rabbits, birds & grouse. It's 2 miles up the mountain and although there are houses it gets more remote the closer you get to the hobbit hole.
  • I don’t think I could sufficiently describe just how stunning and magical this AirBnB is! The Hobbit Hole is situated atop a hillside overlooking the Columbia River Gorge and is very much reminiscent of the Shire except in the magical PNW. Luxury and simplicity at its finest here! I spent hours taking in all the beautiful details from the beautiful wood slice flooring to the intricate design on the back of the door, to the beautiful wood vanity and driftwood sink and the wood detailing on the privy. Everything was so, so beautiful! The environmentalist in me was also giddy at the fact that my one night stay had very little environmental impact with all the lights and outlets being powered by the sun! A few things to consider: it is quite a trek up to the Hobbit Hole from the parking area, which definitely adds to the experience, but I didn’t really plan for this and brought a pretty decent sized cooler with wheels. Had my hubby been with me, I would have had him carry the cooler up, but it was a pretty monumental cooler drag for me up the hillside! haha! Worth the work out though, as I had turkey/cheese sandwich and salad for supper and lox on a bagel and strawberries for breakfast the next morning. I also brought my pup with me and he was in heaven! So much open space for him to run free, but I did encounter either a rattlesnake or a bull snake on our morning walk a little ways from the hobbit hole (my heart was in my throat so I didn’t get close) so I suggest keeping your fur babies on a leash if you do go out for walks around the hobbit hole. Just to be safe ;) Thank you so much Kristie & crew for answering all my questions and making my stay one I will never, ever forget! Hoping to come back to the Hobbit Hole (aka dreamiest AirBnB in all the land) with my husband soon! :)

    Amanda2016-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Hobbit Hole was the perfect retreat during our Lake Chelan weekend. The view was stunning and the accommodations were comfy-cozy. We especially loved finding the hidden treasure in a unexpected drawer. I'm sure we'll be back again for another adventure.

    Heather2016-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house is really all about the attention to detail! You really feel as though you have entered Middle Earth as you look out the round open door. I love that this combines luxury with off-grid! Be sure to be on the look-out for the Ring. The whole experience was great, with lots of details about what to expect in the welcome packet. We loved the view and the feeling of being away from everything, but also enjoyed being close enough to Lake Chelan to stop in town for the day. Stay here and you won't regret it!

    Melissa2016-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • I will be dreaming of this place for the rest of my life.

    Deborah2016-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny home was a delightful 're-creation of Bilbo Baggins home! Really loved the multiple lanterns over the bed, the panelling and all the woodworked cabinets!

  • This home is very difficult and dangerous to get to in the winter months because of the very steep incline and ice covered roads leading to the home. Please be very careful if you intend to stay in the winter months. We encountered quite a few scary bit coming up the 30 minute climb and we had both 4 wheels drive and chains on our Nissan Xterra. The home was beautiful and everything was very clean. Great place to stay but be advised on when you choose to book your stay.

    Katie2018-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • What a magical experience! My boyfriend and I came here with our four legged friends in tow. We enjoyed the view, hiking, bath, fireplace, and finding secret of the Shire. We decided to bring food and not leave the hobbit hole. It does get quite windy so be sure to bring a sweatshirt or extra blanket to enjoy the outdoors more.

The Eden Valley is the quiet side of the county of Cumbria in North West England, naturally beautiful quiet & away from the crowds of the nearby national parks of the The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales . Its not remote , is very easy to get to but still feels well off the beaten track.

  • Simon and Wendy's place is simply amazing. From the moment you walk in it feels like taking a step back in time to enjoy fine country living, a warm welcome and treatment as an honored guest in their beautiful castle. Very much looking forward to being back!

    Tatyana2017-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had one night experience in Augill Castle which was good. Wendy recommended us Orangery room which is good for couple who want to hide away from other guests. The day when we arrived, Wendy's daughter Emily gave us a fast tour and showed us the honesty bar. We met Wendy in the morning, she was also friendly and easy communicative. The breakfast was fantastic. Overall, it made our castle dream come true.

  • This is a magical family friendly castle which is beautiful inside and out. I give it 10 out of 10.

    Ranita2018-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Augill Castle is spectacular. The staff maintain the sophistication and elegance you would expect of a Renaissance era castle. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun adventure or to enjoy a quiet weekend in the country. Brilliant, all around.

  • 酒店非常漂亮,非常有特色,还有儿童玩耍的地方,孩子们玩得很开心。

  • What an amazing place! Was made to feel very welcome and the whole experience of staying in a castle was perfect. The room and ensuite were superb and the meals devine.

  • Staying in a castle was something on my bucket list- so I had pretty high expectations! And, staying here exceeded those expectations! We loved our experience in the castle, and the staff was very friendly. We rented a car and drove here from Manchester then drove to London. I highly recommend this-the drive is beautiful. I wish we could have stayed more than one night, but even the one night was completely worth it. This place is great for kids, teens, no kids, weddings, honeymoons, family reunions, etc. Loved it!!!

The Off-grid itHouse brings together raw industrial aesthetics with the tactics of green design to forge a new home in the sunbaked wilds of the California high desert.
The Off-grid itHouse is an architecturally significant house, recently noted by Dwell as one of the 'Best Homes in America' and in the Los Angeles Times as one of the best houses of all time in Southern California. The Off-grid itHouse is one of 10 IT Houses built in California, which have received much acclaim such as the Western Home award sponsored by Sunset magazine. Also noted as one of the top 10 airbnb rentals worldwide. This is the prototype for the pre-engineered system known as the IT House. The house is 100% off-grid, powered by solar panels for energy and hot water, and is located in a pristine remote valley in the beautiful California high desert. The house observes key green principals of smaller footprint, minimal disturbance to the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape, use of renewable resources, and living simply and minimally. The setting of the house is remote and serene, a quiet refuge from everything, free from distractions. Amazing views and vistas in all directions. Perfect for design or green aficionados, writers or those needing a secluded quiet getaway.
Located in Pioneertown, CA, nearby several unique attractions, Joshua Tree National Park, Pappy and Harriets Pioneertown Palace, local museums and art venues such as the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum, the Integratron, and other seasonal events.
  • We had a wonderful time at this house, it is beautifully constructed and in a gorgeous location. We couldn't have asked for anything more!

    Rachel2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most magical time at itHouse! There was a little bouquet of fresh wild flowers to greet us and we felt very at home there. The architecture creates an experience of really living in the dramatic Joshua Tree landscape - which is really the whole point of being there. And not having phone or internet really allows one to rest and renew the spirit. I loved it and would go back again!

    Sarah2015-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Off-grid itHouse was wonderful! The setting is stunning and the structure is quite impressive. The capacity of solar panels also impressed us as we had no need to compromise whatsoever. The house is located relatively close to Pioneertown, but certainly far enough from everything and everyone to maintain a piece and quite that every city dweller has forgotten existed. We thoroughly recommend the Off-grid itHouse if you are planning a trip to Joshua Tree. You simply can't go wrong.

    Wesley2015-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I have been fortunate to travel often and we would rank this place and Linda's home as one of our top five experiences. We came for our babymoon and this experience offered us the perfect opportunity to disconnect. The house itself is worthy of every award and praise it has received. Although you're off the grid, you do not feel as though you are without any luxury and waking up to the desert breeze and the view is simply magical. The house is located about 12 minutes from Pioneertown where we enjoyed a night out at Pappy's and Harriet (make reservations). Prior to our rental, we also spent time in Joshua Tree National Park - I would have to say the surrounding area of this house is like having your own Joshua Tree Park in your backyard. We will be back and can't wait to share this amazing place with friends and family. Thank you, Linda!

    Raquel2016-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. Gorgeous setting & views, and the house itself is awesome. Linda was quick & easy to communicate with, and very accomodating. Finding the house and getting access to it was super straight forward. Didn't have any issues with water or electricity, although we were pretty careful. Definitely plan on returning many times!

    Raza2014-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place. We spent 5 days enjoying the stunning desert view at daytime and the star filled sky at nighttime. The house is everything you could wish for at such a great location. Thank you for hosting us.

    Sebastian2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The house is really such a wonderfully designed place that you are spoilt afterwards for the standard house. Great architecture in a fantastic surrounding so you can just sit inside enjoying the view in that amazing landscape or looking at the sky and watch the light changing. And you become aware of the waste of energy in our daily life because you have to save it for cooking and lamps if you don't want to sit in the (Website hidden by Airbnb) it's an eye-opener in every sense.

    Anuschka2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Just like all the reviews have all written before me, this is a very unique, special place. You are surrounded by sublime desert wilderness. Our days at the house followed the rhythm of the sun—waking up at sunrise with the changing colors, watching rabbits and birds greet us from the floor-to-ceiling windows. It was magical. The location is off the beaten path—it helps to have a robust car or SUV for the dirt roads to get here. We checked-in after dusk, but thanks to offline map data on our phones, we got to the house just fine. Arriving during daylight is highly recommended. There is limited wifi available on-site now, but my partner spent the whole time off-line to truly feel disconnected. There is no TV, cell service (unless you hike/drive some distance away from the house), or a landline phone—so plan your trip accordingly. Living off-the-grid with solar electricity and limited heating had us very cautious at first, but we lived comfortably—helped in part by the beautiful fireplace. Supplies (or take-out) can be bought in nearby Yucca Valley, about 25-30 minutes by car.

  • Very pleasant stay and spectacular view of Akureyri from the patio!

    Nicolas2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • What an epic getaway location. Set in the mountains of Akureyri, this modern little place was our home away from home as we visited the north of Iceland. Thank you for being such great hosts!

    Crystal2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • We were snowed in the entire time of our stay, but other than that the apartment was very nice. The house is not in such a deserted area as the pictures might make it seem, but it has a nice view nonetheless. The host was very responsive and when we lost our Internet, she was very helpful and accommodating in helping us with any questions we had. The house did lack certain basic amenities, such as cooking/olive oil and a corkscrew

    Laura2013-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Inga was uncontactable for our stay. It was only out of luck we figured out her mother rented another room in the building and we spoke to her regarding questions we had. You need a hire car to get to the place. You could get a cab however if you are moving between the town often it will be cheaper to hire a car.

    Erin2016-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was beautiful, we never wanted to leave!

    Rosanne2014-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in Akureyri. The apartment is very cute, and very accessible from both the airport and town. On the second night there we were treated to a northern lights display, and didn't even have to leave the porch! The bed was quite comfortable, and we were able to make all of our meals at the apartment, which was very helpful for staying under budget. In-floor heating made the house nice and toasty, and no cold feet! The area is very quiet, the only nights we heard any noise was when the apartment adjacent tours was occupied.

    Rita2014-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Apartment no. 3 looks amazing in the pictures. The view is almost unobstructed 90 degrees and it is by far the best thing about this place. Now the cons: The owner didn't respond to messages. TV didn't work. We got two channels and they didn't get good reception. If there was a cable channel card, we sure didn't benefit from it. The windows, the deck and deck furniture were soiled with bird poo. Kitchen was NOT fully equipped: No microwave oven nor dishwasher, which is a standard these days. No coffee maker either, just a weird pot with no instructions whatsoever. Not enough kitchen/tea towels, though we were expected to wash the dishes. The drying up rack itself had probably never been washed, which was gross. The walls were dirty, there were sprays of some liquid even up on the mezzanine. There was dust on the mezzanine floor. WiFi was poor... sharing it with the two other apartments left us practically nothing. Also, the soundproofing in the house is ridiculous: we could hear toilet paper being torn in the bathroom! Noisy neighbors in another apartments woke us up. Traffic and airfield noise is disturbing at times.

Family from Sweden

Assorbi l'energia della natura vivendo in questa meravigliosa casa posta su di un albero. Confortevole e vintage, panoramica e intima, ti regalerà colori e istanti indimenticabili mentre i pini che la circondano ti sussurreranno storie secolari.
casaBARTHEL is a perfect place for a vacation and an artist residency, immersed in the Tuscan landscape only twenty minutes’ from the Duomo and one hour from Siena. Come and live with us: enjoy our olive trees, the kitchen garden, the tennis court and the small swimming pool. The TREEhouse is a romantic room immersed in the pine trees with fire place for the winter and AC for the summer. It offers a bedroom with a queen size bed, a small kitchenette with stove and fridge; a bathroom with shower, and a private outdoor terrace. And a fantastic view towards the Tuscan landscape! And if you want to see and know more about our passion for the interior design, the arts and crafts, and antiques you should come visit our design and make shop ‘Riccardo Barthel’ in Via dei Serragli n. 234 r, in the Santo Spirito district of Florence! At the beginning of the 1980 our family moved into the ‘Poggio Secco’ (Dry Hill) farmhouse, just outside Florence city center, in front of the Certosa dell’Ema. The compound had a big stone villa surrounded by olive trees, a compost hub, a pigeon house, a barn, a tall cypress tree and an old German shepherd dog. Everything in the farm was placed around a large terracotta courtyard, a sort of public square. Thirty years later the ‘Dry Hill’ is still our home and a small community that includes my mum Daniela, aunt and uncle Sandra and Nanni, me, my daughter Cristina and my husband Andrew. We all live here sharing the same love for the countryside, its olive oil, good food and the family lifestyle! The rent includes the use of the communal swimming pool and the tennis court; the dining porch with the BBQ and the wooden oven; dryer and washer; table tennis and football table, plus a car parking inside the property. We are glad to interact with our guests; you will be part of our large family! Galluzzo is a nice small village with everything you need:crocery stores and a nice farmers market open every day. The certosa monastery is a must. Le Corbusier was there to learn! There are public busses in Galluzzo to go to the city center and to go to Siena. But to get to our house and to enjoy the surrounding you should come by car!

Siamo stati accolti in maniera sublime. È stato tutto perfetto. Gli interni della casa non li voglio descrivere a parole, ci sarebbe troppo dire, quindi vi consiglio di andarci di persona ed assistere a questa meraviglia! Grazierò tutto... • Wooooo, i have to say staying with Elena's tree house was one of my most memorable experience ever with Airbnb. It was located only 10 mins driving from Florence town center (Florence Central train station), but a total incredible view of the whole city as well as the unique Tuscany sort of landscape will beyond all your imagaination. The house is recently designed by Elena's father a interior designer and everything is on good consideration, for example the kichen, bathroom and even the sleeping net above the bed as the house is interestingly stands among tress in the backyard of Elena's family garden where guests can meet the entire big family. We arrived at nearly midnight, Elena brought us some food first and Elena's sister Danila provided us the most typical and tasty Italian breakfast the next day. Thanks to Danila as we heard she had to queue at 7am to bought ham and other ingredients as we informed her too late that we need breakfast service. Everyone in the family shows great hospitality and I am expecting a second visit in mid summer to try their swimming pool and tennis court.

  • This property is amazing, absolutely idyllic and perfect for the Florence part of our honeymoon! Elena was so helpful on the run up to the trip and we were welcomed warmly and made to feel right at home. I couldn't recommend this highly enough and we will certainly be back!

  • Elana's treehouse is in an amazing location up in the Tuscan hills around Florence. The place itself is a bit out the way, a 20 Euro taxi from central or a hire car is needed but it's worth it for the view and the relaxing environment. Unfortunately we weren't able to make the most of the serene surroundings/pool/tennis court provided but they were all available to use. The treehouse itself is small but unique with a generous bathroom and a great lookout. Elena and Teresa are fantastic hosts and tried to accomodate us as best they could, even delivering fresh croissants in the morning!

    Lizzie2017-07-04T00:00:00Z

Charming and romantic,' Round' Cottage on the Santarella Estate in the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. Formerly, the cottage was sculptor Henry Hudson Kitson's summer studio on the Santarella Estate. The two-story cottage has a charming bedroom with 35 foot high conical ceiling with canopied bed upstairs with views through massive, multi-paned "mill windows" to the trees and sky and out to the lily pond. The downstairs sitting room looks out on the babbling brook and lovely gardens.
Now open year-round! Charming, One Bedroom Cottage, former sculpting studio on the Santarella Estate in Tyringham, MA. Known as the "Silo Studio" Cottage. There is a bedroom with canopied queen bed upstairs and a sitting room with window bench-seat, coffee table, table and chairs, kitchenette area with wet bar with Micro/Fridge coffeemaker, toaster and bathroom with shower are downstairs. Fall asleep to sounds of the babbling brook and views to pond and forest from the large screened openings upstairs, like living in a "tree-house". Accommodates two only, fully furnished, all linens, towels included. There is Satellite DTV and Wireless Internet on site. The cottage is situated on four acres including lovely gardens, beautiful lily pond, running brooks and 2 acre woods. Absolutely unique, one-of-a-kind experience! Please Note, the cottage has traditionally been a three season rental from approximately March- November, however, due to much interest and demand, we have recently added a larger capacity pellet stove and made winterizing efforts and plan on keeping it open for guests interested in a winter experience in the cottage! Please keep in mind that access to our grounds may be limited with the accumulation of snow in winter months. During predicted extreme weather events, we will gladly work with guests to change reservations as we are always concerned for their comfort! Our lovely grounds are open to our guests. There are garden paths, babbling brook with stone bridges, loveliest of lily ponds, stone bench seating area with 'chiminea' and firewood for guest's use. There are two acres of woods with a loop trail as well. The town has an exceptionally beautiful Swimming Pond about 2 miles away which our guests may use. There are BBQs and picnic tables and it is often deserted. While we do have a pet friendly policy, prior approval and acceptance of our rules and policies is required before a pet may stay with you in our accommodations. There is also a $25.00 additional pet cleaning charge. The cottage is located on the Santarella Estate surrounded by gardens and storybook architecture. Santarella is located in the Tyringham Valley, tucked away 3.5 miles from Mass. I-90, a lovely and magical place where one feels like they have stepped back in time. This is definitely a place to 'get away from it all', enjoy quiet, rural surroundings close to the Appalachian Trail and Tyringham Cobble for hiking and many lovely ponds for swimming or kayaking. Vehicle is necessary. Grocery and other shopping at 3.5 miles.
Tyringham Valley was one of the original settlements in Western Massachusetts. It is mostly agricultural conserved land giving it a very rural, bucolic and idyllic character. The lovely 'Hop Brook' runs through the middle of the valley which is sparsely populated with mostly historic homes, making one feel like they have stepped back in time. An original, beautifully preserved Shaker settlement sits on top of the hillside opposite Santarella, overlooking it. At the far end of the valley, the gracious columns of the burned Ashintully mansion overlook the entire valley and are all that remain of the gilded-age estate which has beautiful preserved formal gardens, great to visit and hike. The Appalachian Trail is 2.25 miles from the cottage.
  • Denise's Santarella was a wonderful experience. The property has a whimsical atmosphere to it and the Silo Studio was no exception. It was the perfect escape for a romantic getaway, and the bottle of champagne included in the mini-fridge was a much-appreciated detail. We would not hesitate to recommend the grounds and the friendly hostess and we look forward to visiting again!

  • My boyfriend and I stayed in the Silo House for a romantic weekend away and it was a wonderful experience from beginning to end! The bed is such a cozy nook, from the heated mattress pad to the soft fluffy pillows, I had to be dragged out of bed! Plus, the owner Denise is wonderful. She explained everything and answered all of our questions, gave us great restaurant recommendations and even a complimentary bottle of bubbly! Loved every second of our trip :)

    Alisha2016-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was by far the best experience I've had using Airbnb. Denise and her husband are very attentive and the studio and grounds are nothing short of a real life fairytale. If you are looking to step inside of a Tolkien story or a witches cottage this is the place to visit. The grounds are draped in moss and beautiful trees and I was excited to enter the home only to hear a soothing brook rushing through the yard and classical music playing in the background. The studio is located about 15 minutes from restaurants and other attractions so you get the feeling of seclusion with a large selection of conveniences not far from the home. Can't wait to go back.

    Bill2017-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • The silo studio was magical and the area is right out of a storybook. Denise is super helpful and knowledgeable and easy to get ahold of when needed. I would definitely recommend this place for a romantic getaway.

  • We had an amazing time at this truly unique and wonderful location. Denise and Dennis were perfect hosts and took the time to familiarize us with the area as well as the very interesting history of the property itself. Highly recommended and we look forward to returning!

  • This is a wonderful place to stay. The accommodations are wonderful, gardens beautiful, and everything we needed was provided. Great spot!

  • The Silo Cottage is a uniquely wonderful place - very comfortable, restful, peaceful amid serene surroundings. We didn't want to leave. What made our visit even more extraordinary was the guided tour of the grounds and buildings - a history lesson in the making and true pride in ownership. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing escape, look no further. You can't help but fall in love with this place.

Old Smock Mill is a romantic place for couples. The atmosphere inside is peaceful and relaxing. Everything is designed to unwind you from the moment you walk in. • Our stay at the Old Smock Mill was wonderful we had beautiful weather and couldn't say one bad thing about the mill, it was beautiful inside and out! Clare was a great host chatting when we crossed but also leaving us to our own thing, she's a sweet motherly lady and made our stay as relaxing as possible. We visited a number of places in the area including Chapel Down winery which for ten pound we received a tour and tasting of around 8 wines, well worth the money and would advise to go! Taxis are good price in the area as we was charged £25 for there and back with AR Taxis I think they were called. If your planning on eating out I'd suggest The West House. It may have been pricey at either £60 or £90 per person depending on the menu but was certainly worth it for 5* food. Overall I couldn't fault my stay and have been showing our friends all the pictures, on that note the pictures Clare shows on her page are up to date and a perfect representation of what you'd arrive to! 10 out of 10!!

  • We loved staying at the windmill. A really memorable place that we long to return to. Two nights definitely wasn’t long enough! Not only is it the perfect setting to stay, but the surroundings are so picturesque. Clare’s little details did not go unnoticed; the windmill is very well decorated, and the homemade bread and fresh eggs were just the cherry on top of the cake! Emily and Sam

  • We couldn't of asked for a better city break. Clare greeted us and showed us around the windmill, telling us about it's history and all the ways in which it was renovated. We were spoiled with freshly made bread, tomatoes, grapes and eggs from her very own Mr and Mrs Duck. Everything was as described if not better. Clare was a wonderfully kind host who was always quick to respond if there was an inquiry such as how to get to the nearest pub. We cannot wait to go back.

  • Fantastic retreat away in the countryside! The windmill was beautiful and just like the pictures shown. Claire was a wonderful host who made our us feel very welcome- loved the fresh duck eggs and local products left for us on arrival. There was lots to see and do around the local area. A trip to Rye and Camber Sands is within easy reach. The food at the local pub (The Bull) was yummy and well worth a visit!

  • The Old Smock Mill proved to be the perfect hideaway for our honeymoon! The mill has been beautifully restored and we loved sitting out on the balcony and enjoying the views surrounding us. Clare was an excellent host and welcomed us with lots of lovely home produce! The local area is absolutely stunning. The local pub 'The Bull' is just a couple of minutes walk away and Bodiam Castle is well worth a visit! We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the seaside town of Rye and exploring Camber Sands and the Chapel Down vineyard (all a short drive away). We will most definitely be trying to return to the windmill soon!

  • We had a wonderful stay at The Old Smock Windmill. It has been beautifully restored & Clare is the perfect host. She's there if you need anything but never intrusive. We loved the little touches upon arrival, with the incredible fresh eggs and the baked bread. The surrounding areas are lovely, with plenty to do. Equally the windmill was so nice, we were happy to just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Thank you again Clare, we hope to visit again one day.

Red cinder leads you through the dense jungle to your secluded bamboo treehouse. Nestled on top of stilts 15' up in the canopy of the local flora, ascend to your retreat via the trapdoor or begin your adventure in Volcano National Park 10 miles away.
Upon arrival, let the red cinder path be your yellow brick road as you are lead through the jungle to your personal paradise. At ground level you will encounter a hanging bed, suspended beneath the floor of your new living quarters. Stop and relax or continue up the staircase to the trapdoor. It is through this trapdoor that you are allowed access to the lanai amongst the canopy of trees. A beautiful wrap around lanai allows for a 360 degree view of the lush jungle, while two sliding glass doors grant access to the bedroom. Upon entering, you will notice that the generous windows and doors allow for natural sunlight to flood into the house, complementing the bamboo fixtures and vintage 1970s wallpaper that backs the bed. The white bed linens reflect the light giving a dreamy, cloud-like aura to the space. There is counter stocked with a local coffee and snacks nestled into a corner of the house and overlooked by the handcrafted porthole windows. Bamboo backed cubby holes and hangers furnish the wall behind you and create an elegant, minimalist closet space for you to store your personal items for the duration of your stay. Just past the closet is a sliding door that accesses one of the most fun areas of the house: the bathroom. The bathroom jalousie windows stretch from the floor to the ceiling and the horizontal glass plates open up, creating an indoor-outdoor effect. Naturally caught rainwater cascades from the large shower head above before disappearing into the floor boards below. You'll notice that the natural theme spills over into the bathroom with sustainable cork board backing the shower and air plants intermittently growing throughout. The toilet and hand-made rock sink in the corner make use of grey water eco-principles by allowing you to wash your hands with fresh water before it goes on to fill the bowl. One of the most fun aspects of this property is that it allows you the opportunity to experience true off-grid living without sacrificing any of the comforts of normal life. Natural lighting, solar power and rain water catchment are the three principles that have been integrated into this tree top design, making it almost like a living organism itself. The beauty of this high flying haven is in the details. I spent the better part of three months personally constructing the building as well as the accessories inside. My goal was to create a customized and secluded space for your occasion. The chandelier, hanging lights, port-hole windows, rock sink and platform bed were all DIY projects that I specifically created to enhance your experience. The bamboo pillars that 'support' the lanai and the moss carpet under the hanging bed were harvested from local areas on the Big Island. IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS BEFORE MAKING A RESERVATION Don't worry, the capital letters are just to emphasize importance. I'm not mad at you. But please read this entire section before making a reservation. As lush and inviting as the Dreamy Tropical Treehouse is, there are inevitable 'challenges' that come with staying in an off-grid treehouse in the Hawaiian jungle. My goal is to give you an experience that combines adventure and luxury so I want to make sure that you are aware of the following things: 1. The treehouse is about 15-feet off the ground and is only accessible by the 'ladder-stairs'. 'Ladder-stairs' is just another way of saying 'very steep' stairs. There is a hand railing and none of my visitors have ever had a problem going up and down. There is a pulley system for hoisting up your bags. Only those who believe they are physically capable should book a stay. Just remember to go up and down the stairs facing them... like a ladder! 2. The running water comes from the rain falling on the roof and is not treated; therefore, the water is not potable. I will provide several bottles of drinking water. 3. The electricity you use is generated by sunlight and is stored in a battery. Once the battery runs out of power it has to recharge. This shouldn’t happen but just be mindful not to leave lights or power hungry items running for extended periods of time (No hairdryers). The windows allow for plenty of light during the day. 4. This is the rainy side of the Big Island so expect some showers! Realize that the pitter-patter on the roof is the rain's first stop on its journey to the water tanks and then to your shower. Also notice how warm it is. Don't think of rain as a trip ruiner but instead an asset to be enjoyed! 5. There are bugs but this isn't the Amazon. For such a tropical climate you will be surprised at how few bugs there are. The main things you will see are moths, fruit flies (due to fruit falling off of the trees) and mosquitoes. Bug repellent is provided but it never hurts to bring your own. They really don't get that bad but their presence increases after a hard rain and during the twilight hours. Luckily, the hanging bed has mosquito netting that drapes down to encompass it. 6. Noises. Living off-grid in the jungle also brings about its own set of noises. The water pump and solar inverter will make soft noises throughout the day as they are used. The falling fruit from the vivie trees can also be alarming if you don't know what it is, and at night you are going to be serenaded by the sweet chirping of coqui frogs. Rustling branches, grunts and squeals typically means that the cute family of wild pigs is nearby. They are harmless and will runoff as soon as they sense your presence. Quietly grab the binoculars and, if you are lucky, you may catch a glimpse of them! All of these aspects are what makes this place so unique and, with the right mindset, they’ll only enhance your overall experience. Guests have free range to fully utilize every aspect of the house. The hanging bed, wrap-around porch, indoor-outdoor shower and closet are at your full disposal. I have recently installed a kitchenette that has a sink, cooler for storing food/drinks, and a coffee maker (also capable of heating up water). Any and all goodies stocked in the house are there for your enjoyment. Here is a more comprehensive list of amenities and features that will be available to you: •Indoor/Outdoor Shower •Toilet with Overlaid Sink •Organic Shampoo/Conditioner •Towels •Ample Parking •Tiki Torch ‘Flashlights’ •Hanging Bed •Table and Chairs for Lanai •Binoculars •Several Books •Outlets (3-prong and USB) •Kitchen Sink •Coffee Maker •Clean Linens •Gramophone Music Player for iPhones •Cooler for Food/Drink •Card Game Guest interaction can be tailored to your needs. My goal is to make sure your stay is unforgettable so you can always contact me via phone or email. Because I do not live on the island year round, a local neighbor can assist you if you have any problems that need tending to. Upon your arrival I can arrange to have someone greet you and show you the property or simply stow away the key for your convenience. The choice, of course, is yours. Even though I am not on site, I can always be reached. Feel free to call/text/email me at any time during your stay should the unlikely event that a problem arises. I will immediately contact the proper authority to have the problem remedied. The treehouse is located at the end of a neighborhood street making it very private. It is set about 50 yards off the street behind a windy, jungle path further adding to your privacy. There are only about five full time neighbors scattered throughout the neighborhood so don't expect to see a lot of people. The treehouse is about 20 miles from Hilo, 23 miles from Pahoa, 12 miles from Keaau and 8 miles from Volcano. Volcano is the closest place for laundry, good restaurants and groceries, though you will pay a little more for the groceries than in Hilo or Keaau. I recommend you stop on your way in from Hilo. When you book I will include a guidebook that has the locations, hours and prices of local restaurants and grocery stores. There is quick access to highway 11 and it is 10 miles from Volcanoes National Park. Numerous opportunities for sightseeing and adventures are within a 40 minute drive of this treehouse paradise and they will be included in my guest guidebook as well. This is the ultimate spot for couples seeking romantic seclusion in the middle of a tropical jungle or individuals who want to escape the world. Unless you feel like hitchhiking, you will definitely need a rental car with high ground clearance to comfortably explore the surrounding areas and access the treehouse. While nothing is 'far' on the big island, everything is just a bit out of reach by foot... except of course for those lovely, yet dense, jungle strolls.

  • The Dreamy Tropical Treehouse was a great stay for 2 nights during our Honeymoon to Hawaii. The proximity to the Volcanoes National Park was wonderful, and the experience was truly unique! The house is located in a very private setting and all of the off the grid features make it a very different stay from elsewhere on the island.

  • Very well designed treehouse! I was so impressed! Every detail has been considered in this place. Arriving late was no problem, everything was fairly easy to figure out. The shower was a little tricky so best to watch the YouTube video and read the book. Also, didn't quite realize there was a way to pull the luggage up ... Very handy once I figured that out! Loved staying here, was amazing to wake up in the forest In such a thoughtfully designed place.

    Sandy2015-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment you walk up the path the treehouse is just perfect, every little detail has been thought of and it is a great place to just tune out from the world and be with nature for a few days. The treehouse is easy enough to find just make sure to follow directions given as the phone maps aren't as accurate. Will definitely be back one day.

  • Loved staying at the treehouse. It was so nice to fall asleep to the sound of the rain. So private and secluded, exactly what we needed for 1 of the nights for our honeymoon. Appreciated the bottles of water and snacks from the host. Ate out at the Thai restaurant since there's no microwave or fridge in the treehouse. Not a problem at all. Nice towels and bathrobes provided. Very clean and organized. Lots of travel size amenities in the bathroom. Great use of space! Tips/Things to know: -Don't plan on bringing big luggage up. Easier to just pack a backpack and bring it up the ladder stairs. Otherwise, there is a rope and pulley to haul up heavier items. -Don't be too afraid of the huge puddle/ponds of water on the road leading up to the treehouse. They're not as deep as they may appear. Our rental Nissan Versa made it, though we were scared of getting stuck. -Disconnect from the outside world, and just enjoy the treehouse and surroundings. You'll be able to get service on your cell phone, but don't spend all your time on that :P -Color in the coloring book :) -Use the gramophone and place some fun music! We played the Jurassic Park theme song, haha

  • Amazing stay. This is the perfect place for any couple visiting the Big Island.

    Corey2017-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in the tree house, we spent most of our honeymoon here and it was a delightful get away. I loved the surrounding windows with the forest being or privacy. The one thing I would say is that it is out of the way. We found a few good places to eat near by but most is in hilo (1hr) or kona (2hrs) so if you don't mind driving its a great location. We had a very fluid arrival and departure, not problems getting in apon arrival. I would recommend giving the tree house a try, it's a good mix of luxury-cabin life.

    Landon2016-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Tree House was amazing! It was our honeymoon and this was the perfect experience. Everything was incredibly designed down to the open air shower with living wall. There was ample hot water and plenty of power for this being off the grid. Kristie answered all of our questions and provided a really helpful guide to the tree house and surrounding area. The attention to the smallest detail is something we really appreciated. The pulley system for our luggage, for example. Brilliant! The shower was fantastic and we probably took one too many. :) The bed was very comfortable and we had so much fun listening to our music through the Gramophone! Did we mention that shower? Thank you for sharing your beautiful house in the trees!

  • The treehouse is simply perfect. It is a beautiful place in the middle of the rainforest. We absolutely loved our stay. From the beautiful indoor/outdoor shower to the pulley system for your luggage, Kristie has thought of everything to make this place truly magical. In addition, she includes a guidebook with things to do on the Big Island. We highly recommend staying here if you want to make your trip to the Big Island unforgettable. We will be telling all of our friends about it. Thank you Kristie!!!!

    Soledad2014-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was perfect in every way. Anthony is very attentive to explain all the questions that may arise before the stay. In the property, the caretakers/'caseiros' are very receptive and friendly people. The house is beautiful, exactly - and even more beautiful, I would say - like the photos. Fully equipped with everything you could need. The parking is very convenient too. I strongly recommend to everyone who want to relax, surrounded by a beautiful architecture and cinematic view. :-)

Thank you in advance! *** The restored cabin, which has been featured in the New York Times 'T' travel magazine, Wilder Quarterly, The Weekender and the book 'Jackrabbit Homestead,' was constructed in 1955 and still has its original green paint. The renovated interior has a cookware-outfitted kitchen and dining area. There is an outhouse with a dry toilet and roofless shower a few yards from the cabin. Wireless internet is available if you require a connection to the digital world. The cabin is equipped with air conditioning. Joshua Tree National Park is a 15 minute drive from the cabin. The Integratron and Giant Rock are also 15 minutes away. The cabin is less than two miles from artist Noah Purifoy's famous sculpture garden site. Two miles in the other direction is Dhamma Dena, teacher Ruth Denison's Vipassana Buddhist center. The always swinging Pappy & Harriet's BBQ and music roadhouse in beautiful Pioneertown is a 30-minute drive. The Lou Harrison House, which hosts occasional devotional, folk and avant garde music events in an intimate setting is less than 10 minutes away. We will be happy to give you directions to each of these unique places (and many others) that we frequent ourselves. The cabin sits on 5 acres, and feels remote, but it's just 12 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree. You will travel a few miles on a secure, hard dirt road to get here. Enjoy the spectacular panoramic sunset and sunrise—as well as a blanket of stars. In the wintertime, you can build a fire too. Sleep comfortably in a queen-sized bed. The cabin is located next to BLM land and a wildlife corridor, which means you will witness these wild animals in their native habitat. The cottontail rabbits, cactus wrens, lizards, desert tortoises, jackrabbits, coyotes, owls and roadrunners (and more!) that make the desert their home make a visit to this serene cabin all the more special. Guests may have freshly prepared organic juices made by local juice cleanse guru Angela de la Agua delivered to the cabin. A menu/pricelist is available upon request.
  • We had a great stay in the cabin. It was an adventure and we can highly recommend it.

  • The house and surrounding area are awesome! Jay was very warm, informative and helpful. We are looking forward to returning in the future.

  • My sister and I LOVED staying here. The cabin was warm and cozy, Jay was super helpful and friendly, and the view...amazing. It's definitely a rustic place, but I would recommend it over and over (and plan to). Such a great weekend!

    Lauren2013-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • We were welcomed by Jay on the evening of December 13 to his beautiful blue homestead cabin in the middle of a serene part of the desert. He was a great guide and gave my girlfriend and I some great tips for the weekend (including a meteor shower that was happening and the Joshua Tree farmers market). The cabin itself was cozy and uniquely decorated. The property was surrounded by some great art sculptures as well. Can't wait to come back to this desert gem!

    Theadora2013-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • We've stayed here several times now, and our visit in late August was wonderful. The cabin was clean and comfortable, and the view of the sunset is amazing.

    Paul2014-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing experience. The cabin is exactly as depicted, there are many thoughtful little touches and details, and it is the perfect backdrop/setting for relaxation, contemplation, quiet, and being in nature. Jay was very helpful and communicative, and we hope to visit again frequently. This was a special place for us.

    April2015-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was absolutely magical! Jay met up with us and showed us around the property and explained all we needed to know. The directions we were provided were easy to follow. The house is all you need for a city getaway!

  • The villa was very beautiful and comfortable. The swimming pool was amazing. We have a lovely holiday.

  • This was a fantastic Airbnb experience. The host is a real professional, and has thought of everything. This is a traditional older Balinese property, and has been charmingly furnished. A lot of thought and care has been taken to make the place feel homely and comfortable. The decor is full of little quirky touches and traditional handicrafts. Other than that, the location is great, right in the middle of a bustling neighbourhood, but being tucked away at the end of a lane way guaranteed a peaceful environment. Last but not least, the staff were extraordinarily helpful and considerate. Highly recommended.

  • Staying here was absolutely great! Robyn and Richard we're great to deal with when booking the villa, and Erni the manger of the villa and all the staff were lovely! Would definitely be staying here again, we didn't want to leave!

  • We had a great stay Robyn's place. The location is fantastic. It's on a quiet alley/street close to Double 6 Beach and restaurants. The building is old, but quaint with lots of character. Great staff. We would definitely come back.

  • We had a very lovely 5 day stay at Love Villa 4! The place is very homely and perfectly clean. Ernie was there to meet us on our arrival and made her best efforts to ensure we were happy and comfortable at all times. Thank you for your kind hospitality.

  • I know maybe it seems too much that we just had a fantastic experience - but we really Loved this place! The location first of all was prime for our family of 5. The space was perfect. The staff excellent. Robyn's décor here gave us the cozy feeling to make ourselves at home. Will for sure return to one of Robyn's villas.

An ancient trullo surrounded by panoramic contryside , away from the noise. Just relax, time taken lying on the hammock or a dip in our cristalline sea and in the evening a great apulian dinner in nearby villages. simple and authentic things
Trullo aromativc green is a 300 year old building, with the traditional "trullo" cones of this region of Puglia. Trullo is situated on the west facing slope of a delightfully quiet valley with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and ideal place for relaxing and is beautiful to explore on foot or by bicycle. The property has been designed to be beautiful, comfortable and environmentally friendly. Solar power is used for hot water and and waste water is re-used (please use the organic bodycare and cleaning products provided). In cooler months, heating and the woodburning stove will keep you warm. The trullo's traditional thick walls and high ceilings keep it cool in summer. And through the marvels of technology, a wifi connection is now available in this idyllic rural setting. The surrounding grounds are maintained organically. Set in four acres, Trullo aromatic green provides the space and tranquillity for real relaxation. Amongst the 110 olive trees are many almonds, walnuts, fig, cherries, apple, pear and mulberry trees, providing a garden banquet that guests can feast on. Produce from the land, including olive oil, is provided for your enjoyment at the property, and available to take home. At the front of the house is a large dining table under a shady gazebo. Nearby there is a barbecue . A large terrace is available to enjoy the landscape from a new perspective. Comfortably furnished, it's the perfect place for sundowners or digestifs. There is also an ancient aia where you just relax on a hammock. The kitchen inside is equipped to the standard that you would expect from this impressive property. I expect that you will dine outside most of the time, but if the weather turns, or you fancy a change, the intimate dining room will delight you. The living room provides ample space for everyone to relax. Enjoy the sound system - Bose iPod docking station and CD player - or watch a film on the Tv. A wood burning stove will warm the spirits in the cooler months. The bedrooms: there are one double bedroom and one can be configured as double or twins. They all have their own shower room and bathroom. Two miles away, in a small town called Casalini you can find everything you might need (delicatessen, supermarket, wine cellar, bar, newsagent, butcher, post office) Puglia and Trullo aromatic green will delight you throughout the year. Each season brings its own climate, festivals and produce. In April the days are warm, but Puglia is still quiet. So you would have a great time to explore the surrounding towns, markets and scenery. There are many festival processions over Easter. On May soft fruits such as cherries, mulberries and fiorone (early figs) are in abundance, markets are full of spring vegetables and the fields are full of wild flowers. This is a fantastic season. On June enjoy the countryside and the beaches before the crowds arrive. Days are pleasantly warm, and the nights clear. On July the real start of summer. Enjoy a day on the beach l, followed by a summer festa or concert. Famous classical concerts in nearby Martina Franca run from mid July to mid August. Finally on August explore the beaches and get plenty of rest during the day to ensure you are full of energy for the many festivals that take place throughout the region during summer. On September as the blazing heat of high summer subsides, enjoy pleasant days and some spill-over festivals such as the Jazz festival in Lecce, or buskers in Martina Franca. Places to Go Puglia offers a wealth of diversions; two coast lines, a vast number of hill towns each with their own characteristics, and always beautiful, rugged scenery with knarled olive trees, spring flowers, red soil and acres of vineyards. There will be plenty of information available to you on arrival (or booking, if you prefer) including recommendations and directions for your days out. Local Hill Towns Ceglie Messapica is just 10 kilometres from trulo aromatic green i, and provides all the amenties that you may need, including an attractive old town for your evening promenade. It is famed for its restaurants, including "Ricci's" - which has the accolade of being Antonio Carluccio's favourite restaurant in Southern Italy. Ostuni, just 07 km from Trullo aromatic greeni, is a fantastic hill town, with the centro storico revealing great bars and restaurants. The town has many facilities, and the market on Saturday morning provides everything you can imagine. Cisternino, just 6 kilometres, has its own character and charm, many free summer concerts and great restaurants. Alberobello is a must for anyone interested in the region's trulli buildings. It is a small town, consisting almost entirely of trulli. Although crowded with tourists in summer, it is worth a visit... and we can recommend some great local restaurants to complete your day. Martina Franca is the smartest town in the area. The Sunday evening passeggiata is a display to behold! The old town centre is a typical example of baroque art, with its white lanes, elegant mansions and stately churches and commune buildings.Beaches On this peninsula, you are never too far from the sea. The Adriatic sea is just 10 minutes from Trullo aromatic greeni, with family beaches and all facilities you need - including seafood and gelato! On the opposite coast, the Ionian, you will find stretches of open beach. Both coastlines offer large beaches and quiet coves, with beautiful clear blue water. Further south the shore becomes more rugged and dramatic. As well as a huge number of towns and beaches to visit, many other activities are available in the area Golf, Horse riding, Scuba diving and snorkeling, Kite-surfing, Cookery courses, pasta making, gourmet tours, Yoga (nearby classes or private lessons at Trullo aromatic green), Massage. We will, of course, be more than happy to help you plan and to make you reservations. Please note, some weeks we hold yoga holidays and gourmet tours for individuals or groups. For special occasions a local chef can come and cook for you. Nights There are many bars, restaurants and clubs to be discovered locally. Puglia is famous for its food, and there are many places to enjoy fabulous cuisine at excellent prices. In the summer there are many bars and clubs set up on the ne Nearby beaches, as well as a multitude of festas and concerts (many free) to make the most of the warm evenings.

Cisternino, just 6 kilometres, has its own character and charm, many free summer concerts and great restaurants.
  • Trullo Aromatic Green was great! My wife and a couple of friends just spent a week there. The house is absolutely beautiful, with good design integrating modernity with the traditional trullo and well-chosen furnishings. There are two double bedrooms, each with its own bath, very private, so excellent for two couples or couple with kids. No AC, which was fine for June -- don't know about July and August. A great place to cook italian meals with excellent fresh ingredients from the Cisternino veg market (7 km). The grounds are lovely -- olive groves, apricot trees bearing delicious fruit, lovely patios on three sides of the house, even a threshing floor! Rough dirt road getting there, but that's part of the beauty. A great place from which to explore Ostuni (7 km), the coast (maybe 10 km), and other small towns. We went as far as Matera (about 2 hours). Isa is lovely: friendly but unintrusive, offering her help and conversation only as much as you might want. It's great to have a smart, friendly hostess, happy to answer questions (we enjoyed half in english and half in italian) and offer information. I would highly recommend this place to almost anyone.

  • We spent at week at Isa's Trullo. Isa was the perfect host and her place was just magic. The cat and the dog were an added bonus. You'll need a car to get around as it's fair way to the nearest town, but the countryside is beautiful. A great place to stay and relax and unwind.

  • The pictures of the trullo are great, and they were the reason that we chose to stay here. However, they can't actually capture the wonderful essence of the place. You pull up to a modern automatic gate, when it opens you see tons of olive trees, beautiful flowers, and the most amazingly restored trullo. Everything about the place is perfection. From the remarkable host, Isa, who helped us with everything. She is clearly such a kind-hearted person, and I wish that we had more time to get to know her. To the inside of the house where everything was so fabulously designed, the perfect mixture of old and new. To the amazing grounds, where when we got hungry we would go outside and pick the most delicious cherries. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, and plan on it. In fact, if it was for sale I would have wanted to buy it- furniture and all. One thing to know, you must rent a car. It is too far from Ostuni, but not having a car in this area would be a shame- there is too much to see!

  • Over the last 4 years since we moved to England, we've stayed in over 20 AirBnbs in 7 countries and Isa's beautiful home including the unparalleled hospitality and phenomenal destination provided our best experience yet! Stop looking and just book Trullo now. The home and grounds are stunning and extremely comfortable. The bed and shower were also fantastic. Isa even left us cherries from the garden, tomatoes from a friend's garden, olive oil from the property, a bottle of wine, yogurt and other snacks in addition to her kitchen being very well stocked. She also went above and beyond what's been provided at any other Airbnb by arranging several wonderful activities for us during our stay. Isa arranged an olive oil tour at a local masseria, a couples massage at the house and one of the single best days of my life taking a cooking class at Giardini 36 in nearby Cisternino. The private class was led by the amazing chef Katia and her mother and was translated by a lovely American. We learned how to make two kinds of pasta, sauce, focaccia and a ricotta dessert. When we were finished, we all enjoyed a phenomenal meal together. We truly felt like part of the family. Don't miss this incredible experience if you stay here. I will remember this place for the rest of my life and I hope to be able to return some day.

  • Isabella's Trullo is a magical place in the southern region of Puglia and is one of the best places we have ever stayed in on Airbnb (and we have been traveling all year!). It's in a secluded community of other Trullo homes along a picturesque white gravel country road, surrounded by olive groves and offering a breathtaking view of the valley below. Isa decorated the Trullo with beautiful hand-carved furniture and art. The location is perfect for exploring the Puglia region and all of the historic little towns around it. There's Locorotondo with its white washed buildings and narrow streets, Martina Franca with its beautiful churches, Albertobello with its fairy tale village of 1000+Trulli and many others. Isa knows everything about the region and will help you make the most of it. Our first day we arrived to find fresh fruit, cheese and wine awaiting us in the kitchen. It was my birthday and Isa even left me a delicious birthday cake in the fridge!! We spent a little over 2 weeks at her home and it was one of the most beautiful, relaxing and memorable experiences of our lives. I can't recommend it enough. If it's available, book it immediately and never look back!

    Antony2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We, two couples, had a delightful tome at Isa's trullo. Great communication all the time leading up to our visit. We were met w/ lots of provisions to get us started. We found many good eating options in the vicinity and our location made it easy to venture out to Puglis's sites. Be sure to take in the olive oil tour near Ostuni. At home lots of places to relax and Ida's CD collection provided a variety of options for background. Getting to feed the cats was a bonus. As a base from which to explore all Puglia's, a dandy choice.

    John2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Trullo aromatic green is the most perfect of places to stay. Isa is an amazing host, taking time to show us around and sharing the history of this extraordinary trullo. On our arrival both food and wine was available - after a long journey we were very grateful for such thoughtful provision. The trullo itself, whilst having an incredible history - its origins and careful conservation - has modern amenities needed for a restful stay. It's a very special place, cool (despite the wonderful Italian heat) and its outside spaces allow for long lingering lunches and evening meals. The view(s) from the trullo are Puglian picture perfect and we enjoyed picking fruits and herbs from Isa's land. We can't wait to return.

On reviendra!

  • A truly remarkable and memorable stay! The pictures of the "cave" are very accurate and it is even more beautiful in person! Our hosts made us feel more than welcome and the pride that Alexis and Lotte have in their place is evident in all they do. The little touches like fresh flowers, towels, candles and the beautifully laid out delicious breakfast and care put into the quality and presentation of the food was an experience in itself! We had a truly wonderful stay and only wish we could have made our visit longer! We highly recommend a stay with this charming couple! Thanks again Alexis and Lotte for a wonderful time! Regards, Sherwin and Laura

  • My husband and I really enjoyed our stay! The room was even more beautiful in person and the most romantic cave I've ever seen or been in. I feel like I should also mention how lovely it smelled, I don't normally notice one way or another but it was quite pleasant. We were welcomed in by Alexis and Lotte who are both super nice and friendly. They were around if we needed anything but we had our privacy also. We also really enjoyed sharing some wine with them and learning more about them and their projects. The place is a few km out of town and since we packed light we were able to bike out there without any problems. There is a beautiful tree lined street we biked down to get there that was pretty impressive. We really enjoyed the extra quiet of being out of town and took some opportunities to explore the immediate area. The little outdoor sitting area was a nice place for some views of the houses and trees. The breakfast was a very wonderful added bonus. It was delicious and beautifully laid out for us in the morning and it was a great way to start the day. Everything was just so perfect. We loved everything about our stay.

  • This was our first Airbnb experience and what an excellent one it was! Alexis and Lotte made us very welcoe, they are a lovely couple who obviously enjoy sharing their home with other people. The accommodation was just as described, with tasteful furnishings and imaginative layout in their amazing troglodyte house. We enjoyed a very pleasant glass of wine in their garden on arrival. As they no longer provide evening meals they booked us a table at one of their favourite restaurants in Amboise, only a 5 minute drive away, which was indeed very good. In the morning we had one of the best breakfasts of our whole trip, with fresh fruit, egg, ham and plenty of fresh bread, good coffee and tea, juice, etc. We would love to return to see the end results of the work they are doing to create a new apartment in an adjoining cave. Special mention also goes to their lovely pair of cats, in particular their kitten who kept us well entertained during our visit. Many thanks to Alex and Lotte for a very pleasant stay, we certainly hope to return one day.

  • The cave/apartment was a great base to explore the Chateaus and region around Amboise. Very quiet, cool on the hottest of days, well equipped and decorated. Alexis and Lotte were great hosts and were always very responsive. Definitely recommend their apartment to others!

  • This is an amazing B&B. The limestone cave is extraordinary and beautifully updated. Far from being a dark damp place as you may expect it is light (south facing) and dry and warm as anything. It is tranquil in the extereme with 8 metres of rock above and of course on 3 sides and below. Not only have Alexis and Lotte created a beautiful space but they have filled it with fitting objects with style and beauty. The service is like a 5 star hotel with great attention to detail for example at breakfast the coffee and tea were presented nicely and warmed by candle most attractively and the "unbranded" natural yoghurt was delicious. This was a wonderful and unique experience for us.

Hector Cave House, carved into the unique caldera cliff for more than 250 years, was originally used as a wine cellar. Then it became a family owned complex of three different properties that opened its doors to share its unique character to travelers from around the world. The three different properties are: The Hector Cave House The Hector Luxury Cave The Hector Caldera Nest
The Hector Cave House, carved into the unique caldera cliff for more than 250 years, was originally used as a wine cellar (“the canava”). The traditional “canava” became a family owned summer house, which then opened its doors to share its unique character to travelers from around the world. The bedroom has one built-in King size bed LOCATED ON THE LOFT and one single sofa bed 200 cm x 80 cm. In the living room area there are two built in single sofa beds. The kitchen is equipped with all the facilities for self-catering holidays, including microwave, refrigerator, electric hot plates, toaster, electric kettle and an espresso machine. Outdoor: The private veranda offers a private space for relaxing, dinning, or even sunbathing, having as a background the most breathtaking views of Santorini: the Volcano, the caldera cliff and Thirassia Island. Hector Cave house is situated in a very convenient location, right on the main path of Oia traditional settlement. Within walking distance, visitors can reach all the highlights of Oia and wonder around picturesque shops, cozy restaurants and romantic caldera-view cafes. Also, the complex lies a few steps from the old castle and the best viewing spot for the famous Oia sunset. Although close to local activity, the Hector Cave House provides peacefulness and privacy.
  • The Hector Cave on Santorini is perfect! Our host could not of been more helpful. He took care of our needs (like transport from the port, taxis to the airport, restaurant recommendations, and help to find a local supermarket) as if we were members of his own family. If you are coming from a quiet Island on Greece (as we had), Santorini had many more tourists. But, the Hector Cave house is a haven from this hustle and bustle as well as a historical treasure.

  • Incredible experience 10/10! Far and away the best Airbnb experience I've had to date. Giannis was an excellent host - kind, knowledgeable & accommodating. To any future travelers staying at the Hector House, listen to all of his recommendations! We stayed for 3 nights and explored the majority of the island. Some highlights were the southern beaches (Perivolos & Vlichada), Pyrgos, Ammoudi Bay and cliff diving, plus all the breathtaking views and delicious restaurants in Oia. The apartment is even better than pictured (hard to believe), but it's true! Highly recommend to anyone traveling to Santorini! Thank you again Giannis & Alexandra!!

  • The Hector Cave House was beyond amazing. Giannis was a great host and was easy to contact with any questions. The cave house was in a perfect location, close to restaurants and off of the main walkway. It was clean, bright, it had amazing views, and a great patio area. We did not want to leave this amazing place! Would definitely recommend to anyone and can't wait to stay here again! :)

Merci Giannis!

  • My partner and I had planned a vacation in Oia for 5 days while touring through Greece. We decided to look into AirBnb vs a hotel and had no idea what we were about to find, the best place we could have ever hoped for "Hector Cave House" which turned out to be the most magical vacation we could have ever dreamed of. I don't even know where to begin. I have traveled extensively around the world and have stayed in top hotels and locations and Hector Cave House was by far the best place we have ever stayed in. Not only was the House a dream but Giannis, out Host, exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived he was waiting for us, he had helped us set up our transport from the ferry prior to arrival and gave us the biggest welcome!! Is like we met a good old friend. He helped us with our luggage and soon we stepped into the most beautiful Cave in Oia, right at the heart of downtown!!!. The location could not be better. This place is out of a postcard.. The views from the terrace are like you are watching a movie and the Cave itself was so beautifully done and decorated, I felt like I was in a dream. The bed was extremely comfortable and the set up for the bathroom and eating area were perfectly done. The welcoming wine and fruit were such an unexpected beautiful touch. The pictures on the site truly reflect the beauty and quality of the Cave, yet you can't capture in pictures the beautiful energy it has when you walk in. Giannis takes hosting his guests to a whole new level!! He is seriously one of the kindest human beings we have ever met. He gave us such great ideas on traveling around the island and even helped us set up a cruise tour for the day. He checked on us all the time and made sure we had everything we needed. Any time I had a question I would text him and he would get right back to me. His level of care, commitment and connection to his guests makes Giannis the ideal host to have when going to Oia. We actually miss talking to him and miss his warm smile. The Cave House is centrally located to the best shops and restaurants in Oia. We had the most beautiful vacation in Oia and a big part was the beauty and energy the Cave holds with the essence of its host Giannis. We are missing the Cave already and are for sure coming back to stay in the Cave for longer time. It feels like a part of us was left behind in the Cave. If you want to experience the most magical vacation in Greece this is your place to stay and Giannis is your host and your friend waiting for you!! Thanks Giannis, you are the best!! Dr Judy and Anton

    Stephanie2013-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely incredible. We spent two nights here towards the end of September but could have stayed forever. I can't speak highly enough of Giannis', Dana's and Dimitris' hospitality. The cave house is set back from the main walking street with gorgeous Caldera views, and famous Oia sunsets some ten steps around the corner. You won't want to leave the cave pool but you'll have to, so you can enjoy the hosts' excellent recommendations for food and activities. There's much more to be said but just book it and find out for yourself - Hector Cave House is an oasis of calm. We can't wait to come back!

    Jesse2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We have been renting places for vacation and business travel for several years all over the world and without question the Cave House has been the best in all respects. In fact not just the best but at least twice as good as anywhere else we have rented. Our experience was outstanding: the property, the location and above all the warm welcome and help we received from Dana, Dimitris and Giannis. I hesitate to provide specific details because I feel that if you're looking to stay in Oia you should just click to book and enjoy the experience first-hand. I will say that the view is one of the best anywhere, and that the first thing you will hear in the morning as you sit sipping your coffee on the terrace is the soft click of cameras as the first passing tourists of the day take pictures on the path below. However, they are not taking pictures of the view, but of the steps up to house you are staying in because they look so amazing! Our only regret is that we did not plan to spend longer here. This is an exceptional property and we hope to be lucky enough to return one day.

  • If you're thinking about where to go in Marrakech, book this place already! Reb is an above-and-beyond host. Instant and clear communication, clean and spacious rooms, and central location. The best part is he recommends excellent side trips and tour companies and arranges everything with all expectations/expenses being crystal clear. In Marrakesh (and Morocco), this is immensely valuable since it's hard to find a reliable and trustworthy tour guide on your own. Reb is someone you can trust. Have you booked it yet? Because I really think you should.

    Mubnii2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a nice time at Reb's, wish it could have been longer. Lovely.

Gracias Mar!

  • Good location and apartment. We got detailed information for apartment, hotel and bar.

  • Mars Apartment is great! Very stylish and very big. Kitchen well equipped and styled interior. We stayed with 5 18-year old girls and it was excellent

    Valerie2017-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place exceeded our expectations. It was refreshing to walk into this gorgeous place after a very long and exhausting plane ride. We met Mar at the location and she showed us around. All of us were in awe. The place is immaculate, sparkling clean and very spacious. It fit 6 of us (3 couples) comfortably. The amenities were great. We are so happy we chose to stay here rather than a hotel. The location was also wonderful. It was away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy locations but close enough to walk to. It’s also a very quiet place so we did not have any issues with noise- in fact we had to ensure that we kept noise to a minimum after 10pm. In addition the AC was amazing! We would take a jog every morning around the city and it felt so nice to come back to a very fresh space. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone. It’s by far one of the best Airbnb’s we have stayed in. Mar is also a great host. We kept in contact up until the day of arrival and she is so quick to respond. She’s readily available for all of your questions or concerns.

  • Very spacious, attractive apartment but only 1 of the 3 bedrooms is air conditioned and the rooms were insufferably hot. Could not sleep. Not what we expected for this price. Combined with a good deal of early morning street noise, we did not have a pleasant stay.

    Steven2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible space and great location. Mar is an amazing host, and easily reachable for everything we needed. Space is in a great location, very clean, big and looks just like the pictures. By far the best apartment we stayed in during our Spain trip. Cannot recommend enough if you have a bigger group. You will love it!

    Bryan2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • A spacious, beautiful apartment in a great neighborhood. Convenient restaurants, shops, and an easy walk to areas of interest. Mar was a perfect host with prompt communication and met us in the apartment to show us around. Along with our adult children/partners we had a wonderful holiday thanks to this great apartment.

Be surrounded by nature and yet have all the comforts of home. Be our guest in this cozy log cabin surrounded by tall pines and mountains, and yet still a short drive to Lake Tahoe and the casinos.
Cozy cabin nestled in South Lake Tahoe perfect for the relaxing or adventure filled getaway. This rustic charmer has evolved over the last 10 years to bring you and your family a warm and comfortable stay. At 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, the Lake Tahoe Chalet is perfect for families of up to 8 people. We do consider the family dog on a case-by-case basis, please ask, and the backyard is fully fenced.
The Lake Tahoe Chalet is about six miles from Stateline and the Lake, or a short 10 minute drive. It's located in a quiet neighborhood with no one across the street, with views of mountains and tall trees. There's a large meadow and the Truckee River just a short walk away. The cabin is located in a quiet family neighborhood so PLEASE respect our neighbors' peace and quiet and keep the noise down after 10PM. Also, no parties or groups exceeding 8 are allowed and may even result in immediate eviction and/or loss of deposit.
  • Well appointed space easy drive to South Lake Tahoe. Would be an excellent spot for two four-person families that want to vacation in the area together.

    Michelle2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Home is cozy, photos really make the home appear bigger. Living room and dinning table are a little crowded. Home needed some spring cleaning and TLC.

    Yvonne2017-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Lake Tahoe Chalet is absolutely gorgeous. My friends and I came here for our senior trip and had a blast. You have everything you need inside of the chalet. The only thing I could suggest bringing is a fan because it gets kind of stuffy with multiple people in one area. The neighbors are very friendly and showed us local trails we could hike on. Thank you both so much!

  • Nice and cozy place, fit our group of 7 perfectly! Loved the amenities, the shampoos were really cute. The kitchen was well stocked, it was easy to find the place. Great price for the weekend!

  • Thank you R&D. My little family and I had a great stay in Tahoe this year. We’ll remember it forever:) My daughter especially thanks you for all the great places to play “hide ‘n’ seek” :) The Tahoe Chalet is a fantastic place for kids. We made Pizza in the fully equipped kitchen and explored the pine cones in the backyard. Heaven! Thank you!

    Christopher2018-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • First off, Ryan and Darnie were as gracious of hosts as they come. They are very easy to communicate with, accommodating, and welcoming. From our first interaction with them you could tell they take pride in accommodating their guests. When we first walked into the cabin, the place was clean and organized and felt like our home for the few nights we spent there. R&D checked in the first night to make sure we arrived and settled in with no hiccups. If there was anything we needed they were very approachable to find a solution or check back to see if we needed anything else. They were super hosts and would recommend staying in their Lake Tahoe Chalet. The location is very nice because it's not far from the lake and its set back a little ways so you are in a quiet neighborhood. This is a great escape!

A sturdy cabin with lots of natural light, right in a flowerful garden. It will feel like living outdoors, while inside the cabin there is a lingering aroma of larix wood and crackling of the woodstove.
This charming garden room has a 180 degrees garden view, with large windows in the front and in the roof. (Full length curtains for the windows allow for privacy.) In the cabin you will find a comfortable bed with good mattress - size 165cm by 205cm and plushy pillows. A comfortable desk and chair, free WiFi – to read or even finish some work. Water cooker and drinking water available. Besides being well-suited for the summer, it is also very cozy for the autumn and winter because of the romantic woodstove. The bathroom and toilet are just a few steps away in the main house. Inside the cabin itself is a faucet for water and thanks to good suggestions from guests there is now a chemical toilet for a pee in the night. We don't offer breakfast or cooking facilities, but her you get quietness and romance :) A small stream meanders past the front of the cabin. In the evening the garden is nicely lighted and makes for a beautiful sight and there are multiple sitting areas in the garden. And chickens to enjoy :) - no roosters! The cabin is about 8mts behind our house. Welcome!
The location is in the largest natural area of the Netherlands. The area is great for both walking and bicycling (if you did not bring your own, we have two you can borrow). Many short and long walking and biking routes through heathlands, woods and meadows start within a kilometer from the house. Also within walking distance (800 meter) are the town centre (with shops and several decent restaurants) and swimming pool. Lakes (including beaches) are 5 kilometers away.
  • Bea and Frans are a happily married couple and I hope that my husband and I will grow to be like them as well.. they were great and the fruit cups they prepared for us on our last day there was great... really loved your place..

    Jennifer2018-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Bea and Frans were lovely and thoughtful hosts. The garden house is very peaceful! It was wonderful being able to relax and see the moon at night while laying in bed. I was having trouble connecting to Wifi and Frans tried very much to help! This morning, he offered me a wonderful cappuccino, a bowl of fruit, AND a ride to the train station!

    Maryn2018-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Having not checked the amenities before booking (bad mistake will know for next time!) I didn't know that there's no breakfast included which kinda shocked me so we had to find some place out to have breakfast but the next day there were two cups of salad fruit waiting for us by the front door, what a charming surprise!

    Aurélie2018-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Bea and Frans are amazing hosts! They know how to make you feel like you've been on a long holiday even if you're just staying a few days. Every morning you wake up to another lovely surprise at the front door step and they help where they can :) They were super easy and helpful with the check in even though we were way too late on arrival and there was no stress on check out. There was also a heap of information material in the garden room :) We could even use their push bikes and were allowed to bring our dog! The garden room itself is beautiful!! You go to sleep looking at the stars and wake up after a good nights sleep on a comfy bed looking at the pretty skies... It's furnished with love for details, there's everything you need in there and enough fire wood to survive a winter ;) I would highly recommend staying there, you won't be disappointed but your expectations will be more then exceeded!

    Maria2013-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The garden house was AMAZING! It was clean and the space was perfect for a friend and I. Only thing I would advise people is that if you plan to get to the home very late or very early then show up showered. We were fine with cleaning up in the sink provided and then showering when we got back midday. A thoughtful cup of fruit was placed out for us when we let them know we were checking out earlier then them waking up. Beautiful property, adorable town, and sweet hosts.

    Brittany2018-04-29T00:00:00Z

    Laura2018-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • There is no other room like the gardenroom! The place is beautiful, clean and quirky. The whole atmosphere will give a lot of piece midst travelling and the surroudings are just breath taking! Thank you Bea and Frans.

  • We had a great experience here. The people of Morocco are very friendly and love to help out the tourist. This includes Sabbah. Because there was an issue with breakfast the next morning, she was kind to make up for it by doing our laundry twice. This helped us a lot because traveling in July with two small kids was difficult. We also took the tour to Essaouira (which was not planned prior to our arrival) with Sabbah's help. The host was kind enough of arrange a taxi to and from the airport.

    Cassandre2014-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in Dar Ahwach for 1 week during July/August. The riad is a real peaceful escape from the busy and bustling streets of Marrakech - the sun terrace is beautiful and the air conditioning was much appreciated in the bedrooms. Sabah made us feel very welcome and her breakfasts were excellent. I would also recommend ordering an evening meal in the riad - her chicken tagine was my favorite meal of the trip. The location in Dar El Bacha was also perfect and was relaxed with some nice nightspots/restaurants close by - but only a short walk to the busy 'square' and souks. I would certainly stay at this riad again if staying in Marrakech.

    Ross2015-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location in Marrakesh. Quiet and peaceful. Dinner was delicious and I always slept well. Francoise was very communicative and helpful with tips based on my questions prior to my arrival.

    Ronda2015-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible riad convenient to everything you want to see in Marrakech. The riad is even more beautiful than the photos suggest - beds are comfortable and warm, showers are nice and the rooftop terrace is amazing. Sabah and her son met us upon our arrival and were helpful and lovely. We hope to visit again soon!

    Matthew2018-01-20T00:00:00Z
Empfehlenswert! Und auch für 6 Personen gross genug.

  • Dar Ahwach is truly a special place! The riad is beautiful & is in a great location. The housekeeper, Sabah, was so warm & welcoming! Also, Fayssal, the driver was amazing & very accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

This bamboo cottage is a secluded eco retreat down a quiet foot path nestled in the rice fields and only a five minute walk to central Ubud. Open air basket weave bedroom with mini loft, modern elegant bathroom and outdoor living area make this a truly unique Bali experience.
This is a woven house made almost entirely of bamboo. It is open air and as close to living in nature as you get. Our main lodge is down a private foot path only accessible to cottage guests. if you choose to join us for dinner, a swim or for socializing with other guests you are welcome to enjoy this common space with a saltwater pool and a swing. :)
This is a hidden spot literally just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Ubud with its restaurants and shops, but it feels lost in time and like a total retreat. In the day you will only meet rice farmers and local women blessing the rice. At night you will only see fireflies and hear the rushing river, crickets and the distant sounds of the temple. An evening massage is a great way to end the day at sunset on the terrace. We have an in house masseuse who is available by appointment.
  • Great for outdoor lovers! We only stayed one night, but definitely enjoyed our stay. Waking up to a peaceful morning was my favorite part! The food was also delicious. Overall a great and unique experience.

  • Such a beautiful place to stay! If you've got the chance to enjoy some days/nights in the Bamboo Cottage - you should do it! Simple but fantastic, no windows or doors - feels so amazing! Everything was very clean and there's a daily roomservice as well. WiFi, hot shower, friendly staff - what else do you need? :)

  • We sadly did not have the same happy experience as the other reviewers possibly due to our age - 57 and 62. Being fit and young at heart this sounded like fun. I can only tell it as we experienced it. The location is stunning in every way. Staff met us on arrival and walked us along the track to the villa, gave us a phone and said to call if we need them. I stepped out onto the tiled deck, stepped on the tiles, slipped and hurt myself. As there was no fridge our driver was kind enough to leave his esky and we asked the staff to buy us ice, bottled water and a couple of beers which they did promptly. (There was water in a jug supplied). We ordered Kumara chips and another dish from the 4 choice menu which arrived cold. That night there was a storm and we got wet in bed until we clamoured over the back of the bed to pull down the bamboo blind to close off the open space. We saw some fire flies in the paddy which was lovely. The mozzies so were fairly bad so the mozzie net was a God send. No door on the villa proved embarrassing as breakfast was delivered during an intimate moment (the curtains blew about), due to the foot traffic past the door there was no more intimate encounters planned. What finished it for me was when I was cleaning my teeth naked in the bathroom I looked out the window to see a worker walking on the back track looking at me as he went past. My partner said that's it we are leaving and we didn't stay the second night. We told staff and got a call on the phone supposedly from Rainy the owner who said not to write a bad review as it would affect her business, we could not figure out how Rainy (who staff told us is American here for 3 years) could sound like a Balinese person on the phone? I told her they need an esky or a fridge and bottled water and a kettle and she said "We bring you tea and coffee anytime and can get food from town for you". Too bad we found this out on departure???? She also said "it's not for everyone". Yes that is true. We walked past her house on the way back to the road with no personal contact from Rainy at all, on leaving or arriving. To end on a happy note, both the Eco cottage and scenery are very pretty, beautiful outdoor shower too. Younger people will no doubt love it.

  • What an amazing place! Our favorite 3 days of our trip were spent in this gorgeous valley of rice fields, smiling faces, and this unique and magical bamboo cottage. For about $60 per night you get a delicious morning breakfast, 24 hour staff available to help you, 360 degree view of greenery, rice fields, crickets, frogs, geckos, a rushing stream. It doesn't get much better. Icing on the cake, about 5 minute walk from a home run spa that has great services for very cheap. You can take a bath after your massage with a unhindered view of the rice paddies. 100% recommended!!

  • The rice field cottage is marvelous and i would recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing time in the middle of nature in the rice fields. Also the staff is super friendly and very helpfull! Keep up the great work Firefly staff.

  • Amazing, unique, and majestic place in the middle of the rice fields! Super cool bamboo home. 1 minute walk to the kitchen, bar, pool, swing, common work/chill space. They served us breakfast right outside our bedroom door. This place was perfect

  • We loved our stay and can't wait to go back. Everything from the greeting to the exit was welcoming, friendly and accommodating, and the property and views were exactly as pictured: beautiful! The hosts are upbeat and and very knowledgeable of the surrounding area, and we would highly recommend this location to anyone wanting to experience "living in L.A." for few days. A+

    Billy2016-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first trip to LA and we could have stayed in any number of places but the views and seclusion of a Pool House intrigued us to DnA's place. It exceeded our expectations. From the excellent communication with our Hosts to the views to the amenities to the beautiful house and cool neighborhood, everything was perfect. The pool house is secluded and is a spacious one bedroom with bathroom, living room, kitchen, bedroom, closet space, and a beautiful private patio. We could pack light because there was a full size washer and dryer to use (no checking bags!) and there's a few grocery stores nearby to quickly stock the kitchen with a few items. There's also ample secure parking. This is the NELA area, close to Highland Park, Pasadena, and Eagle Rock, all places I didn't know much about but was very excited to be near for the coffee shops, bars, and record stores within a quick drive. Downtown and Los Feliz were a short drive away and getting further into LA took about as much time as we expected. If we come back, this is going to be our first option to stay again over any other place. The hosts treated us to wine and chocolate on arrival, detailed instructions on the house, and a list of plenty of things to do during the stay. The price was on par with a hotel but the service went above and beyond, we were truly made to feel like friends of the family during our stay. For all the years I wanted to visit LA, I couldn't have dreamed up a better place to stay for a first visit, this is what Airbnb is all about.

  • DnA's place has scenic views, it is very clean and well-equipped. The stay was wonderful. Highly recommended!!!! Excellent space, awesome hosts.

    Soni2017-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The place was easy to find and really stunning. You have the possibility to cook yourself, grill and enjoy the privacy of a home. Both Dennis and Alex will respond to you almost instantly and the are very hospitable. It feels as is you are living in LA, not just staying there. No hotel in that price range can offer that experience. 10/10 would recommend!

  • The house was really nice with An amazing view. Great location if you are looking for a cottage outside of town. The house has three bedrooms, but only one shower. Hot tub outside was nice but doesn't get very warm. When you're in freezing temperatures it would be great to have it a little warmer. The heater in the apartment wasn't working too well so we were quite cold in the evenings. Other than that - stay was pleasant. It is a short drive to the ski area as well.

    Mary2016-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • It was so good to meet Gunnar at the BSI first day we arrive in Reykjavik. He was so kind to give us all kinds of travel information, we had no worries at all, even as our first time to visit Nordic nations. The villa was very well equipped, only a minor problem with the oven timer. It's a shame to know from Gunnar that someone took the hair dryer at his villa - it's just essential in such a cold winter. Gunnar has everything you need to tour around in Iceland - an extravagant villa, a monster 4WD. Only one thing - you need to talk a lot with him face to face, as he was not very keen to reply your every inquiry in text messages. We had no problem talking to him, but some misunderstandings came up on our text-message conversations. Anyway, my thumbs up to Gunnar (Website hidden by Airbnb)

  • This is an absolutely beautiful villa in a great location near Akureyri. Warning: if arriving in winter you'll need a 4 wheel drive to access the villa. The outdoor hottub is amazing and we even managed to catch some northern lights from it :D

This spacious, unparalleled cave house, hanging on the cliffs of the caldera in the center of Oia, is part of a traditional complex of cave houses, owned & renovated by a family of architects.
Crowning a unique complex of cave houses which used to serve as the old bakery of the settlement, and just a moment from the main pedestrian street of Oia, lays the remarkable cave house of sculptural aesthetics. Originally renovated for personal use by local craftsmen, the house perfectly combines traditional style with comfort. The plasticity of its forms, the use of local techniques, the built in beds and the selection of antique furniture together with the modern amenities, strike the right balance between sophistication and coziness. The cave house has two private bedrooms one of which was actually the old cistern, now transformed into a cocoon, cave room. This couples' nest, is five organic-formed steps sideways and below the main level of the house, with an emperor size (200 x 200 cm) built in bed and vintage wooden furniture. The original path that was naturally created by the cliff structure, connecting the two caves which form this house, leads to the master bedroom, on the other side of the house, maintaining the original architectural plan. With a private entrance, two windows and a door that separates it from the rest of the house, this bright and spacious bed room comfortably fits an oak queen size bed (160 x 200 cm), a large desk with a chair, an antique bookcase and a handcrafted mirror. Both bedrooms are equipped with high quality latex mattresses. In the commodious, off-white living room, a warm and relaxing corner has been created by the two large built in sofa beds (easily accommodating two for sleep) and the square beech wood coffee table. On the side, a solid, oak wood dining table is surrounded be a wooden and a built in bench, comfortably sitting a company of six for a luscious meal, right next to the fully equipped kitchen. There, an oven, ceramic hot plates, refrigerator, coffee machine, electric kettle, toaster and cutlery ensure your stay will be as convenient as possible. The bathroom, deeply curved in the cave, with off white local stucco technique and marble from Crete, has a handcrafted marble wash basin and rain shower. Outdoors, the private terraces expand on different levels literally on the rim of the caldera, creating unique angles and comfortable sitting spaces. You have travelled miles in order to come here; this is the time that you can finally dip in the white washed, semi cave whirlpool. Grasp the serenity and beauty of the sensational, unobstructed view of the volcano. The caldera, the sea and the sky which will undoubtedly leave you breathless. Enjoy!
Oia is the most picturesque coastal town on the northwestern tip of Santorini. The town has whitewashed houses carved into the rugged clifftops, and overlooks a vast caldera filled with water.
  • Great spot in the middle of Oia. Just about 50 steps down from the main road and a skip away from the bus station parking lot. Lots of great restaurants around, if you want a bite. It's close to the main path but quiet, and the lower bedroom is cool and quiet even in the height of summer. Nice deck looking onto the caldera. And so spacious inside, even the bathroom, which also has a great shower. Clean linens and multiple towels, for the bathroom and maybe the beach? The space is much better than I expected...truly. John and Laskarina are very helpful with whatever you need. Great spot, and I would recommend it to everyone.

  • A great find in the heart of Oia on the rim of the caldera. Steps from good restaurants and magnificent views (between the tourists). Highly recommended for 2-4 adults

  • Hands down the most beautiful place with the most beautiful views I have ever stayed in. Clean, spacious, unique modern style with THE BEST VIEW of the island! Love, love, love!

    Sara2016-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Spectacular view from the patio and plunge pool! A unique architectural experience and perfect location just steps from Oia restaurants and shops.

    Roger2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a special place in Oia, look no further and book this special spot!! The photos can't do justice for just how spectacular this place is - both the views and the interior. Laskarina was very helpful in arranging transfers for us and someone to assist with our luggage and finding the place. It is ideally located for exploring the shops and restaurants, but you'll find yourself wanting to return time and time again to your own outdoor seating area (there are so many different areas for you to enjoy.. Truly one-of-a-kind home! You won't be disappointed!

Oak paneled walls, wooden window shutters, and warm parquet floors surround you. Choose from hundreds of books and read in a secret bed box behind floor-to-ceiling shelves. Family portraits and heirlooms happily coexist with works of modern art.
Romantic and stylish apartment, It's the perfect base from which to explore Edinburgh from. I've already had some great people come and stay, so I welcome you to my home. Edinburgh castle is a short walk away from the apartment, and the National Gallery, St Giles Cathedral, National Museum of Scotland are all close by. My apartment is on the fourth floor of an 18th Century tenement with views on to the historic Royal Mile. With all mod cons and a unique location, this is the perfect apartment to have as a base while you explore Edinburgh. The apartment retains the unique character of the Old Town with oak panelled walls and parquet flooring, mixed with family portraits, antiques and works of art, but also all the modern comforts of a home. It is on the fourth floor and is reached by a spiral staircase (76 steps in all!) For our American cousins that's a walkup :-) There is no elevator. The apartment is South facing and full of light by day. The hall has a cupboard to hang clothes/store shoes etc. There is also an ironing board/iron and a hair dryer kept here as well. The bathroom has a bath and a shower, there is always hot water and plenty of towels for you to have. Then through the main door off the hall, is the open plan living space. Five full height original Georgian sash windows face you as you walk into the space. Floor to ceiling book cases and a large period fireplace with French empire over-mantle mirror. There is free wifi throughout the apartment, also a big collection of fiction/history/cookery/poetry/art/design books to while away the time with and I have a music/radio player with an eclectic choice of C.Ds. Plus cards and board games. A large kitchen space with character and all the modern cons - toaster, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, oven, kettle, induction hob etc. However I don't own a microwave. There is a washing machine and there is washing liquid capsules for it under the sink, just put one of these inside the washing machine drum and close the door and turn to what ever setting you want. I do not have a dryer (it's not that typical here in Scotland/Europe) what I do have is a clothes horses which you can hang your clothes on. Their kept folded up in the hall cupboard. I hate staying in apartments on holiday where there aren't even any basics to cook with like salt and olive oil, so the kitchen is stocked with all the usual larder fare to help yourself to if you're cooking in. Plus coffee and all sorts of teas. I also have an honesty bar if you want to finish off with a drink or two after a long day of walking around town. By the windows is the generous dining space with oak dinning table and six chairs. The bed is a unique 'bedbox chamber' made from architectural salvaged fitted Scottish 18th/19th century carved oak. A floor to ceiling hidden panelled door lets you into this cosy space with reading lights on the headboard and it is fitted out with a British king size mattress - width 150cm and length 200cm, white cotton sheets, pillows and duvet. Mary Queen of Scots would feel quite at home sleeping in it! The living room area of the apartment is tucked at the West side of the room and has two good size sofas, reading lamps and is perfect to socialize in and also have quiet time with a good book. I hope to hear from you. I'm more than happy to answer any questions or give advice about Edinburgh/restaurants/bars etc All the best Calim
Edinburgh is beautiful and historic. This apartment is in the oldest part of the city, close to the castle. Museums, restaurants, and good coffee shops are really close by, as are the train station and airport links.
  • This is one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed in. It's worth going to Edinburgh for.

  • This was our first experience of airbnb and it will be extremely hard to beat! Calim was a wonderful attentive host and his apartment was the most interesting, beautiful little hideaway I've ever had the pleasure to stay in. From the lovely touches of classical music playing and fresh bread, juice and coffee as we arrived, to the amazingly helpful restaurant guide he emailed to us a week in advance for us to be able to plan our stay, our couple of days away (definitely not long enough!) couldn't have been any better. We will definitely be back, thank you so much for your hospitality Calim! Love Talia and Ste x

  • We were very warmly welcomed at the start of a wonderful weekend. Calim's home is beautiful with every possible comfort. The location proved to be perfect for a first visit to Edinburgh. The detailed information that Calim kindly sent ahead of our visit meant that we had great recommendations for restaurants, bars and shops galore, the only problem being our visit proved too short. My daughter and I would certainly love to return. Thank you so much Calim.

    Charlotte2016-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • The photos don't do this apartment justice. This home could be in a decorator's magazine. It was spotlessly clean and stocked with everything we could have possibly needed. The location is right on the Royal Mile, very close to the castle and convenient to everything. We did not need a car for the 4 days we stayed here. Calim quickly responded to my questions and provided clear directions to the apt. He met us upon arrival and we felt immediately welcomed. I highly recommend this beautiful Edinburgh apartment.

    Glenda2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! The best Airbnb experience I've had. The apartment itself was perfect and had everything you could need, including food for breakfast. The apartment was so unique and in a great location--walking distance to everything. Calim was an incredible host. Easy and quick to communicate with. So accommodating with our arrival and departure times. And his list of food recommendations was incredible! I just wish we could have stayed in Edinburgh longer! thank you, Calim, for making our trip to Edunburgh so great!

  • Calim's flat is a wonderful place to stay while in Edinburgh. The location couldn't be better and the flat itself is so nice that we nearly forgot to go outside and see the city. Calim is a great host, with clear communication, and he was very helpful in coordinating our arrival which helped immensely, much better service than you would get in a hotel that's for sure. Highly recommended.

    Jon2013-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • I came to Edinburgh for a 3 day break with my mum. The reason for our trip was mostly due to the fact I had found this Airbnb in one of my favourite UK cities and was so bowled over by it that I had to see for myself. I was not disappointed by the reality- in fact, it beat all my very high expectations. We were met by a lovely friend of Calim's who showed us around (and incidentally gave us some excellent bakery recommendations- worth asking!) and made us feel welcome. The flat is located at the top of the Royal Mile, in the very heart of old Edinburgh. You get tourists and bagpipes outside, but that adds to the charm! The photos are exactly what you can expect- that is cosy old world glamour with historic features and imposing portraits mixed with cutting edge style and design. The book collection is better than my local library at home. The bed in the box (for want of a better description) is utterly charming. I've never experienced anything like it and reveled in telling all my friends at home about this epic feature! The flat is kitted out like a hotel, but better- with toothpaste, shampoos and conditioners, candles, a fully stocked fridge (with the best honesty box I've ever seen) hot water bottle, towels....basically we wanted for nothing and could have spent 3 days without leaving the flat. Calim came over specially at the crack of dawn on the last day to help us down the stairs with our heavy bags in time for our early train. A very charming host. I'm so impressed with the whole operation that I've already booked his other flat for next spring. Book this experience. You'll be glad you did!

  • This was our first Airbnb stay and it certainly won't be our last! Calim's flat is just perfect and just like the description! There was a note and honeymoon treat waiting for us, as well as a book with everything we needed to know about the flat. It was wonderful!
