Sleep staring at stars! Featured in The New York Times, The Today Show & called by Forbes "The World's Most Beautiful Tiny House," the Hudson Valley Glass House is a magical getaway. Just 90 mins from NYC, but a world away. 30 acres of rolling hills give total privacy and isolation as glass walls open up onto endless views of vineyards, orchards, & wildlife (spy coyote, deer, & amazing birds!). Modern comforts (WiFi, A/C & a loaded kitchen) keep you from feeling like you've given anything up.
Hi! If you're thinking of booking, please message me first to confirm, and also please read the entire listing to the end as it likely answers any questions you may have... Welcome to The Glass House. Come see why Forbes called it "The World's Most Beautiful Tiny House" and called an "off-grid oasis" on The Today Show. Sleep staring at the stars and feel the stress melt away in this glass-enclosed tiny house (just 180 square feet!) retreat, just 90 minutes from NYC, but a world's away. This is a truly special place, and most people find it surprising that it can exist so close to New York. With all sorts of wildlife coming within inches of the house (don't be surprised if you see coyotes, families of deer, and every type of bird you could imagine), this is a truly immersive experience into nature. But despite its small size and isolated location, it is surprisingly luxurious on the inside. The listing includes: -A 180 square-foot glass-enclosed tiny house, offering spectacular 360-degree views of the Hudson Valley and surrounding vineyards and apple orchards -Lots of privacy on a 30-acre farm. -Outdoor dining and lounging furniture, along with access to a fire pit that you can definitely grill on. -A plush queen-sized bed with a super-comfy memory foam mattress and insanely comfortable pillows -A dining table with two chairs for sitting and eating. -A modern stainless-steel kitchen with a mini-fridge, induction cooktop for cooking, microwave, and electric kettle. Despite the small size, it has just about everything but a range oven. -Wi-Fi for keeping in touch with the real world and streaming shows on your personal devices. Also note that while the house is tiny and has a maximum occupancy of two people, I am sometimes able to accommodate larger parties for those bringing tents and willing to camp outside. Please inquire about pricing for such scenarios. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: Q: Can I get to the house without a car? A: The house is about 25-minutes driving from the Beacon train station. If you choose not to drive the whole way there are Zipcar pickups at the train station (reserve in advance!) and Uber JUST launched in the area ($20-$30 for the ride from the train). A car is highly recommended (especially if you want to explore the area), but this definitely makes things possible for the car-free—just be sure to show up with everything you need for the stay as the farm is in a rural area that is not particularly walkable. Q: Do I need to bring towels or linens? What about a hairdryer? A: Nope! I provide all these things. Same with basic toiletries (unless I happen to be out, which is very rare). Q: Is this house really off the grid? A: Yep! It features solar panels for power, a propane HVAC system for heating and air-conditioning, and a unique dry-flush toilet (more on that in the "Other Things To Note" section below). One exception: You absolutely have working Wi-Fi. Q: How will I receive the key? A: The house features a keyless entry system with a code that lasts as long as your stay. This allows for effortless check-in and entry. Q: Is the place professionally cleaned between guests? A: Yes, and I take pride in providing a clean home for guests. Take a look at my reviews—I think you'll find my guests agree! Q: What's up with the cleaning fee? A: I get a lot of questions about this, so I'll just break it down so you understand why it is what it is: All but $10 of that goes directly to my cleaner. She is a professional who does a great job and who I insist on compensating fairly for her work. The dry-flush toilet cartridges cost me about $20 apiece, so the remaining $10 lets me split that cost with guests. (Of course, if you happen to use more than one cartridge, I cover that cost alone). Q: What's my total booking price? A: I honestly have no idea. With fees included, Airbnb only shows the guest, and not the host, the total cost. This figure should be present after you enter your dates. Note that, pricing varies on a daily basis, and Airbnb actually uses some crazy algorithm to adjust it automatically, so I don't actually control this. Q: I am looking for a last-minute stay. Can I make a same-day booking? A: If you're looking for a same-day booking and the place is free, please inquire and I'll try! It depends on whether my cleaning crew can spring into action at the last-minute, which isn't a sure thing. Check-in may also have to be later than the listed time in order to make sure the place is ready. Still, can't hurt to ask. One last thing: I really, really appreciate that you followed directions and read the whole thing. Please put the phrase "Don't throw rocks at glass houses!!" at the top of your message so I know you did so as such bookings tend to go so much smoother! And thanks for hanging in there!
The Glass House is situated on a 30-acre farm in the rolling hills of the Hudson Valley. Guests have total privacy, but are joined on the farm by the main farm house and a smaller residence with live-in caretakers that can help out in case of an emergency. Around the farm are views of rolling vineyards and apple orchards—many of which are absolutely worth a visit. Downtown Marlboro is minutes away and has a few nightlife and dining options, and the hopping town of Beacon (home of the Dia; Beacon) is about 25 minutes away. Storm King Art Center (a must) is also about 30 minutes away. Also near: New Paltz, Cold Spring Poughkeepsie, and countless other Hudson Valley gems.
  • The Glass House is truly a magical experience. It had everytning we needed to cook a nice meal and the location was amazing for our overnight stay before a climbing trip in New Paltz. The huge glass windows offered an amazing starry sky to fall asleep under and we loved waking up with the sun to all the birds! Seth was super accommodating with our last minute booking and was incredibly helpful and responsive throughout! We’ll definitely be back.

  • My girlfriend and I had a great time at this house! The Tiny House was gorgeous, with great views of the surrounding meadow. We would definitely recommend it. Lots of vineyards and cider distilleries close by to explore as well.

  • The Glass House is a fantastic place to stay! It has all the seclusion and feeling of camping along with the comforts of a home. We cooked dinner on the campfire, star-gazed, explored the state park close by, and listened to the birds singing as the sun rose each morning. The Glass House is spotlessly clean, has a mini kitchen complete with the essentials needed, a comfy bed, stellar views, a secluded setting, and Seth is a helpful, prompt, and attentive host. We look forward to returning soon!

  • This Tiny House is so lovely. Clean and Cozy. Expertly stocked with every little thing you might need. But no clutter. So well designed. The large windows just make it feel so open and huge. The bed is great and really comfortable. Plenty of storage to put your stuff away. The bathroom was small and yet large enough. We were a little worried about the electric toilet, but in the end (no pun intended) it really wasn't a big deal at all. It's perfectly sanitary and easy. My wife and I had such a great relaxing time. We look forward to returning.

  • What a gorgeous view! My boyfriend and I chose this place for a quick getAway- he's always been interested in the Tiny house lifestyle. The home is identical to the pictures. I couldn't believe the views from the crystal clear windows. The home is in a very private location, but there is a nearby home over the hill. I personally enjoyed this- I don't like feeling I'm miles away from civilization. There is a small town about 10 mins from the home, which was very convenient. Seth has all the basics in the home, we even got some eggs (which were absolutely delicious- you need to try). Just an FYI, there is a nearby chicken coop with some cute chickens. One of the chickens is known for escaping the coop and strolling around. Don't freak out like we did, she knows how to get back in when she wants. Thanks again Seth!

  • The Glass House is amazing! Wonderful space with the huge windows surrounding the bed! Truly incredible! Also, Seth was so responsive and accommodating!

    Iris2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • It you are looking for a memorable experience in just about the most luxurious tiny house one could possibly imagine, then Seth's place is for you. Seth is a meticulous host making sure we had everything we needed in plenty of time before the reservation, and then let us be. The house is set back on an old apple orchard that has gone wild. We saw fox, deer, groundhog, and some nice birds. The house itself and all the accoutrements feel new and are lovely. IKEA at its very best - clean lines and colorful touches. The bathroom is impressively comfortable for its scale. Pretty amazing to have a hot shower with good pressure and all. If you dislike camping, but like the idea of being out away from it all and in nature, tiny houses are for you! I think I may never camp again.

  • Most amazing trip. Romantic, comfortable, secluded. Would give it 6 stars if we could.

We are conveniently located within a 10 minute WALK from the Poughkeepsie Train Station and the historic Walkway over the Hudson! Our three family home is nestled in the Little Italy district of the City of Poughkeepsie - Appropriately there is no shortage of Italian bakeries or Italian restaurants in our neighborhood! Four restaurants (Amici's, Milanese, Cosimo's and Emiliano's) and two bakeries (La Deliziosa and Cafe Aurora) to be exact, all within WALKING distance! Good food is definitely not hard to come by in our neck of the woods. WALK on down to the Poughkeepsie waterfront... Dine inside or al fresco overlooking the beautiful Hudson River at the River Station Restaurant. Make sure you try one of the five delicious soups, homemade daily or pop into the historic Ice House on the Hudson for some of their yummy eats! Maybe you're just in the mood to cozy up next to a fire and enjoy a delicious glass of wine? Well then WALK down the street and around the corner to the Nic'L Inn. The ambience and artfully crafted menu never disappoints but be careful because their complimentary fried spaghetti can be addictive. Obviously we enjoy introducing people to our favorite neighborhood spots but lets not take away the fact that your journey to Poughkeepsie is just the gateway to the Hudson Valley. Located within 20 +/- minutes to the Village of New Paltz, Rhinebeck, Beacon, Breakneck Ridge (Hiking), Millbrook and multiple Breweries, Wineries, Distilleries, Orchards and attractions in Historic Hyde Park. • We found this apt to be very clean and comfortable for our short stay in the area The location is perfect for anyone wishing to visit the Hyde Park historical sites, Marist College, walkway on the Hudson, and the other rail trails. The listing was very accurate and Regina and Robert were very responsive, including making recommendations for dinner. We hope to get back to this area again within the next year and would definitely book another stay.

  • What a great little apartment! Beautifully decorated, very clean with many nice touches. I appreciated all the extra toiletries available and there were plenty of towels. When we needed a few things Rob was very quick to help out. We had a lovely dinner at the Nic’l Inn, just a five minute walk from the house. A great farm to table Italian restaurant. Thanks so much!

  • As described! Clean, comfortable, private.

    Andrea2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Easy access to train to NYC. The furnishings and decor are lovely. We appreciated the cold beverages left for us in the fridge too!

    Elizabeth2017-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place and completely met our needs. Unfortunately during this get away I wasn’t feeling great and we ended up calling it an early day. Having a comfortable space with a kitchen to make our own food was just what I needed. We were still able to relax and just hung out there. It is in a city area and by a train station. If you are looking for a quiet country space this isn’t the place to be. This was very close to the walkway over the Hudson and had several places to eat near-by (though we didn’t utilize). I would recommend and definitely stay again.

  • We spent a wonderful time in Highland at casa del arte. We were welcomed by Rob who gave us excellent advices to discover the area (walkway aver the Hudson, restaurants, etc.). The room is very confortable (A/C, fridge and coffee machine) and decorated with Elisa's artworks which are original, interesting and beautiful. We liked our discussion with Elisa who introduced us with her art studio. A very unique place that we highly recommend if you want to visit the Hudson Valley.

  • My husband and I went to Hyde Park, NY to celebrate our retirement, birthday and anniversary and we found the perfect AIRBNB to do it! Troy greeted us at the door, with a hug, along with his 2 beautiful dogs (BTW-other than barking to greet us, they were perfect ladies the whole time we were there!). Troy's home and property are well maintained and lovely. Guest rooms include 2 bedrooms on the main living area upstairs (shared bathroom) and a more private room downstairs with it's own bath - comfy mattresses and bedding. Troy does provide robes (but please don't take them home :-)! He encourages use of his home and will provide you with any information you need on the area. The location is perfect for those wanting to explore Hyde Park and all it has to offer (CIA, historic mansions, hiking, etc). Troy is a wealth of knowledge on the area and provided us with maps and other books. We also dined at the CIA; however, Troys Scandinavian culinary breakfast adventure far exceeded what the CIA had to offer. Whatever your needs, don't be afraid to ask, as Troy is always there to make your stay more enjoyable. Thanks Troy - you are a job - hope to see you again in the not-so-distant future. Evelyn & Sam

    Evelyn2016-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Troy's house was great! We stayed in the lower room, which gave privacy and a separate bathroom. The bedding was comfortable and temperature perfect while it was sweltering outside. Troy is so hospitable, with helpful advice on where to go and what to see - and got us in to see the Vanderbilt mansion and gardens just down the street. The highlight of course is the delicious Scandinavian breakfast each morning! Troy was a fantastic host and we'd gladly stay again.

    Amy2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent hospitality and a good local guide all in one

    Lois2017-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • The most considerate, fascinating host…with a breakfast not to be missed!

    Beany2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this place for my parents. They greatly enjoyed their stay, chatting with Troy in his beautiful living room, and visiting historic sites in the area.

    Wendy2016-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Troy and the experience he offers is exceptional. A warm, spirited and amazingly generous person, he made our weekend away from the city a truly relaxing time. His house is beautiful, and the attention to detail he offers his guests is outstanding. It's really like stepping into a Scandinavian cultural exchange. The breakfast he lovingly prepares is 5 star quality, and being someone who enjoys cooking and food, it was great to talk and share dish preparations and connect over our appreciation of food and culture. Troy is also extremely knowledgeable about the area and was more than happy to offer advice on things to do and see. Thank you Troy! We will definitely be returning in the future.

    Ivan2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying with Troy. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The three course breakfast was delicious, with Troy providing plenty of variety. We felt like we were staying with a friend! Next time we are in the area, we will definitely try and stay again.

    Aaron2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Look around. See the other reviews? Spot on. Troy is the definition of a great AirBNB host—he's the sort of person who knows when to guide you along your journey or let you discover things yourself. Troy's home is a living testament to Norwegian hospitality and how it changed his life. Go along with the flow while there—you'll enjoy yourself.

POUGHKEEPSIE: Home to 4 colleges (Vassar, Marist, Dutchess Community & The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park), Poughkeepsie is both a college town and a city in transition with a diverse blue collar urban community. With close proximity to restaurants and cultural destinations, Poughkeepsie allows you to experience the conveniences of “small city” life while only being a 10 minute drive from the country. A historic industrial port city, Poughkeepsie is currently going through an exciting resurgence, characterized by a grassroots local food movement, farm-to-table restaurants, and a number of revitalization projects, including the renowned Walkway Over the Hudson, the world’s longest pedestrian bridge spanning the width of Hudson River. The Walkway connects the Dutchess County and Ulster County rail trails, making Poughkeepsie a destination for bike enthusiasts. Vassar College and the city’s south side also make for wonderful bike routes with cute residential streets, historic homes, and lots of trees. We love Poughkeepsie for its diversity – its people, its culture – and the way it encompasses the full socio-economic spectrum, from its pristine college campuses to the developing commercial zone and restaurant scene in the historic main street corridor. Poughkeepsie is an exciting place with a unique energy, and an ideal home base for experiencing the rest of the Historic Hudson Valley. THE NEIGHBORHOOD: Gray Street, where the guest house is located, is a residential, tree-lined street in a transitioning neighborhood 5 minutes from Vassar College. The neighborhood is a blend of everything from young entrepreneurs, academics, government workers, tradespeople and low income families. The guest house sits across from Forbus Butternut Park, a 1-acre greenspace overseen by a local non-profit. There is a church on the other side of the park, and the Poughkeepsie High School and football field is about 2 blocks away. During the day, kids sometimes play in the street, but for the most part it's very quiet since Gray Street isn’t a major thoroughfare. AROUND THE REGION: Because Poughkeepsie is centrally located, it makes for a great jumping off point to explore the rest of the Hudson Valley region. Towns like Beacon, New Paltz, Rosendale, Millbrook, Hyde Park and Rhinebeck are all within an easy drive with lots of things to see along the way. Hudson, The Catskills, Cold Spring, Phoenicia and the Berkshires all make for wonderful day trips – full of meandering country drives, antiquing, hiking, fishing, wine-tasting, museum-hopping, or cooling off in a swimming hole. I run a blog that’s dedicated to travel, food and culture in the region called An Upstate of Mind, and I’m happy to send along recommendations for our favorite spots tailored around whatever you like to do. The surrounding Upstate NY towns are lovely, but to make for a full day, it’s sometimes good to combine a few destinations into a “mini road trip” that lets you soak in the local flavor and experience the sprawling natural settings the Hudson Valley is known for.
  • Seth was a great host and the house was lovely! Very charming and lovely and he gave us plenty of great recommendations of things to do around the area. Would definitely come back!

  • Seth's house is one of the nicest places I've stayed in and I've used Airbnb all around the world, it's beautifully decorated and I felt right at home. Seth was also very helpful with recommendations and always quick to respond.

  • We stayed at the Artist Apartment for two nights while visiting our son at Vassar College. The apartment was entirely lovely. It's clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The mattress was firm, which was really nice. The kitchen and dining area were pretty spacious, and the layout allows us to cook dinner for our son and a couple of his friends. Seth was a very gracious host. He gave clear and thorough instruction about the house, and intensive information about Poughkeepsie and surrounding area. We were also grateful that the air condition worked really well because it was in the 90's when we were there! Thank you Seth for having such a great place, really made our visit so pleasant.

  • Clean room, apartment and bathroom. Van was readily available when we needed him for check in and via text prior to our trip. Construction upstairs at 9am after a wedding was a rough way to wake up, but otherwise everything was great.

  • Van is a super nice guy -- very accommodating and responsive. The place is cozy and comfortable. Perfect for a few days in Poughkeepsie. The bottle of wine he left us was a nice touch. We definitely plan to stay here again next time we're in town.

Van was very communicative regarding check in and to let him know if I had any issues or questions (which I didn't). Van's place is a great quality, and I would stay there again.

  • Veronie's place was truly a "home away from home" and may be one of the best AirBnBs I have stayed at (I have stayed at over 10 places). She was very accommodating and understanding of my constantly changing schedules, and it really helped that Veronie was super RESPONSIVE. Getting in was a breeze as she had clear instructions. The entire place was IMMACULATE yet also very warm and well-decorated. Another great feature was that the entire place was self contained and very much autonomous, so you can have a lot of privacy. I almost considered extending my stay in Poughkeepsie just because I wasn't sure I would find another great place to stay at during my travels.

    Tigest2016-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Veronie was wonderful and very accommodating as our schedule was slightly changed and we had to arrive later at night than we expected. The room was clean and quaint with a wonderful working fire place that was such a wonderful surprise! Perfect place for a weekend getaway.

  • Veronie made me feel welcome by being available via text when I needed to tell her when I was coming. I really did not meet her :-( but she was easily accessible. The description was accurate and the neighborhood very beautiful. Everything was clean and functional.

  • I am a multi-time stayer. The room and Veronie are great.

    George2016-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Veronie's 'Home Away From Home', was a nice respite from a hotel stay. It was a relaxing and quiet overnight stay. Veronie's timely responses were helpful to me as it was my first AirBnB booking. I only met with Veronie at check in, but it was clear if I needed anything, she would be available. The rooms were spotless and the bed was and comfortable. I would stay again whenever in the area.

    Julia2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a comfortable, quiet and convenient location while in the Wappingers Falls area. It is in a lovely residential neighborhood, and the accomodations are very pretty. The hostess decorates with pillows, flowers and throw blankets which encourage cuddling up to relax infront of tv. If you are in the mood to shop, eat in nice restaurants or visit historical sites, all are within a short drive. I also had a private entrance to the rooms, so I never felt like I was inconveniencing the hosts. I'll book this place again, every time I visit the area. It's a great value for the experience.

    Elizabeth2017-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • The experience here was very nice and simple, Veronie was an excellent host and she accommodated us very appropriately. The place definitely felt very welcoming and an actual home away from home.

This spacious suite is peaceful, & wooded with separate entrance, patio, wifi, full kitchen, bathroom (small shower), queen bed, sleeper sofia, TV (uses fire stick, wifi & blu-ray, no cable) Local (seasonal) sites to see: Walkway over the Hudson, FDR Home & Library (Hyde Park, 14 mi.away), Culinary Institute (11 Mi), Vassar College, Highland Landing Park, Old Kingston (original site of NYS Capital), SUNY New Paltz, Antique stores of NP, Huguenot Village, Minnewaska State Park, Mohonk Mtn House.
We're unique because we live in a rural setting, yet within a few miles of - Mohonk, apple orchards, vineyards, 5 colleges, The Walkway Over the Hudson, etc. We also are 10 minutes from the train to NYC. *If you come from NYC by train - we offer pickup roundtrip for $10 (please make sure you ask if you need this.)
We fondly call our neighborhood, "the Outback," because we're in the woods. 1. The biggest plus is the peacefulness and we are centrally located near SUNY New Paltz and Vassar Colleges. There are also 2 community colleges nearby as well. 2. We regularly have a family of wild turkeys, deer, and red tailed hawks coming through the yard. Of course the usual chipmunks, ground hogs and squirrels. We even had a huge, beautiful large Owl land right outside the Suite window this past spring.
  • My experience at Kit's place was great. Kit and her husband, Mark, are great hosts. They are very caring and accommodating and always answered my questions and concerns quickly. Always asked if I needed anything. Treated me like I was part of their family. The apartment itself has been newly renovated. Very spacious and very comfortable. Included everything you need. It is about 10 mins away from New Paltz, NY ( restaurants, movie theater, grocery store, etc). I have been using Airbnb for the past 2.5 yrs, and this has been my best experience.

    Sarfaraz2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Kit and Mark were great hosts with us. Although we didn’t get the chance to meet her, kit was very responsive to communication and flexible to our requests. Mark let us in at arrival, gave us a quick tour of the place and some tips for local restaurants and spots to visit. Nice and clean place with great amenities. Bed and couch were big and comfy. Kitchen had everything we needed functional. Drinkable tap water (actually tasted good). The place is in the middle of beautiful nature rural area but only 10 min to the nearest town. Highly recommend!

    Mohammad2018-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very cozy stay at Kits. The reviews are spot on and the title - home away from home is totally accurate. They’ve thought of everything to make the stay intuitive and comfy. We were only there for a short night but felt totally at ease

    Caroline2017-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time staying at Kit's place. The description is spot on and Kit and her husband Mark are wonderful hosts. We already have booked it again for a future stay. It has everything you need to be comfortable for a multi day stay and cook your own meals if you want. We loved being able to cook breakfast in (and having the placed stocked with breakfast staples was fantastic) and also had dinner in one night. On this trip we went into the nearby town of New Platz and enjoyed walking around the cute town as well as visiting the FDR House and Presidential Library across the Hudson - about a 20 minute drive.

    Lori2018-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the quiet. The sounds of the woods and all of natures sounds! Seeing the deer, swans with babies, turtles, peacocks, cows, new born calf etc. was wonderful. Brought back lots of memories for me. Both Kit and her husband are wonderful people. We look forward to staying there again next year.

    Marie2017-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful and cozy home! We saw deer, and heard frogs and it was the greatest experience!

    Bree2017-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying here! She was very nice and also we had movies, puzzles, games and the fire stick to keep us occupied. Also everything was well stocked! Hopefully I’ll make it back here again!

    Emma2018-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Roomy, comfortable apartment in a quiet country setting. Everything you would need - laundry, wifi, food in fridge, lots of books to read......even music lessons from Kit. Hosts were responsive and friendly. We chose this location because it was central to the places we intended to visit - a good base for our activities.

  • Coming to Poughkeepsie? Do yourself a favor and stay here! Loraine made me feel at home with her open personality and her thoughtfulness to provide little things I may have forgotten. The backyard and pool were so calming I barely left the patio couch all afternoon and evening. Loraine is a great cook and shares freely. She provides information about local activities and knows a lot about places to eat too. I'm so happy I decided to book here.

  • Nice shared home, lots of people, loved the dogs! Friendly family with loads of food options and great hand made soaps. Didn't see them much but they made the stay easy and comfortable

  • Fantastic! One year ago this week I stayed at my very first Airbnb. It was right here in Poughkeepsie with Loraine. It was great. Since that time I have stayed at Airbnb’s in St. Louis, London, Prague, and, Vienna. They have all been wonderful experiences but Loraine has been the most comfortable. This time around I got to visit with her daughter and son-in-law. I love sitting on the back porch each morning drinking my coffee and soaking up the tranquility.

  • All in all the listing and photos are accurate. Van provided as described. Figuring out keys was a little annoying, but minor. The room we stayed in was on the second floor. The third floor is occupied by a long term tenant. Unfortunately we stayed on a night where our upstairs neighbor was "getting lucky" and the walls were thin. I could make out what songs were playing, how rickety our neighbors bed was, and how vocal they are while they had their fun. Unfortunately this kept me up through the night. If I were to isolate this incident from my overall experience I would say my stay was fair.

    Ceasar2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Family Friendly, quiet and clean. Van is easily accessible at all hours and is willing to go the extra mile for a guests comfort. 10/10 experience.

  • Great room! Comfy bed! Lovely host! Fun time was had by all! 10/10 would stay again!

    Erik2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Van makes you feel right at home away from home. A generous and considerate host, Van's accommodations were clean, comfortable, and organized. The area is quiet and quaint. His place is about a 7 minute walk into town where you can find food and some entertainment. It is also just under a 15 minute walk from the train station. I would highly suggest driving or renting a car as cab service is not always reliable in this small town and, as of this posting, neither Uber or Lyft is operating in this area. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask. Van was very easy to reach and communicate with. The wine and snack basket was also a nice touch!

    Karole2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Van hospitality was tremendous! He really went above and beyond to accommodate my family.

    John2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. The place was clean and in a safe neighborhood.

    Alex2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • I had a good experience at Van's place. The place is located close to the Poughkeepsie train station (15 minutes by foot / 5 minutes by cab). Van's place was clean and comfortable, and stocked with a bottle of wine and snacks. He also allowed me the convenience of an early check-in given my schedule. He was also easy to access over text messages and we communicated as required about early check-in and getting into his place. Overall, a nice place to stay in Poughkeepsie.

Built over 100 years ago as a chicken hatchery, this gorgeous little gem has been fully restored as a two-story guest cottage. Located in New Paltz just minutes off Exit 18 on I-87 in a very private, quiet, country setting. Only ten minutes from New Paltz Village & SUNY New Paltz and set back on a lightly traveled road for those long summer strolls. You don't even need a car to get here! It's just 12 minutes by taxi from the New Paltz Bus Station or bring your bike up and cycle everywhere!
The Little Yellow Cottage displays much of it's original construction including post and beam, stained glass in the cupola (even an original stained glass portrait of Abraham Lincoln!) and a screened in porch for breakfast with a view or just hanging out. Inside you’ll find a spiral staircase and all the 21st century amenities you’d expect, including radiant in-floor heat, AC, TV, wi-fi and laundry in the full kitchen. One queen bed sleeps two on the ground level and one Murphy bed sleeps a single on the lower level. Private picnic table right outside. And the postal code may say Highland, but the Little Yellow Cottage is really in New Paltz!
Check out the funky art hub of New Paltz or SUNY New Paltz just 10 minutes away or climb the Shawanagunk Mountains 15 minutes away. You don’t even need a car! Bring your bike up on the bus or train and take a taxi ($12) to the Little Yellow Cottage. Cycle the 20 minutes into New Paltz or even spend a day on the Hudson Valley Rail Trail also just 20 minutes away. Talk a long walk on a quiet country road and snap a selfie at the tranquil Black Creek just a minute away.
  • Adorable place just a few minutes away from New Paltz or Highland. We especially loved the screened sun room, where we spent every morning and ate meals. Very tiny space, so be prepared for that.

    Jeff2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • I spent a very peaceful 8 days in this space resting while on a trip to the area for business. It was a welcome reprieve from the local hotels and an astonishing and whimsical space. Justin was attentive and detail-oriented in all communication with me and the space was great. Definitely consider this lovely place when traveling to the area.

    Jon2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The yellow cottage is so charming! We loved the natural light and the screened in porch was amazing. Justin, thank you so much for the hospitality! We love your little place!

  • We really enjoyed our 4 day vacation at the little yellow (Website hidden by Airbnb) is conveniently located close to New Paltz and to several trails in the area. The cottage has all the necessary amenities and it is sparkling clean. For us,the highlight was the screened in porch ,where we often served our breakfast or just enjoyed listening to the birds' free concerts! Justin was very quick to answer all our questions via email, and even checked out with us in person following an unfortunate mishap in the area(that was promptly taken care of). The suggestions in the cottage handouts were great. We tried out a few,but The Village Tearoom was by far our favorite! We hope to be able to visit this property again in the future.

  • The Yellow Cabin is the perfect place to stay in New Paltz, we absolutely loved it and there were incredible amenities and Justin was an amazingly responsive and accommodating host. One of my best airbnb experiences.

    Cindy2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • We called it our little tree house in the woods, a beautiful yellow cottage that met all of our needs, was very relaxing, and had a lovely screened in porch where we had all of our meals. It was spotless with every amenity you could want, quiet, had bright natural light streaming in and was so convenient to New Paltz and all of the sights in the Hudson River Valley. Justin is a wonderful host and responded quickly to any issues that arose. My husband and I would gladly stay here again.

Close to Marist college, the C.I.A. The house sits just off the rail train that leads to the walkway over the Hudson! Feel free to use the kitchen, living room, spare bedroom, bathroom, and internet.

Norge Room is one of 3 rooms in my home. This room has a brand new double bed, cable tv and shared bathroom. It is perfect for 1 person or two smaller people. Down and feather comforter and pillows. This room is a shared bath with the Euro Room. My Dutchess County room has a private bath and entrance.
A Scandinavian Comtemporary home with a great host!
Wonderful neighborhood up from the Hudson RIver. River views in the Fall, Winter and Spring. Quiet with a sound of the train whistle
  • A wonderful experience! The room and home were as lovely as expected; Troy was happy to offer a drink when we arrived and a chat on the deck; and the breakfast was fantastic. All in all, a wonderful stay with someone who genuinely enjoys hosting people in his home.

    Eva2015-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Troy is a consummate host and we would return on a moments notice. He exemplifies the 5 star ABNB host and I'm sure we will return

    Ralph2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed one night at Troy's stylish and cozy home (the bedroom on the lower level). The location was perfect, a great base for exploring Hyde Park and the surrounding area. We enjoyed talking with our host, and meeting his two sweet, happy dogs. Recommended!

  • Troy is extremely hospitable and friendly. He has a lovely home that is well decorated, comfortable, and a great value. He provides a beautiful full breakfast--a one a kind experience on AirBnB! This would be my first choice to stay here if I come back to the area.

  • My stay was one-of-a-kind! His space was beautiful, clean, and inviting. Also, Troy was a flexible and accommodating host with incredible cooking skills! I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

    Madeline2015-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Troy’s famous Scandinavian breakfast is not to be missed. And Troy is incredibly generous—he invited us to join his neighbor’s birthday party!

  • Troy is a great host. The house is lovely and very clean. I highly recommend anyone to stay there.

  • Right after my boyfriend and I stepped out of the car, we felt like we are in a different country. Troy welcomed us into his house and show us his lovely and comfortable house. Troys house looks really clean, cozy and full of light (especially in the morning). Our room was clean, warm and just perfect decorated. The bed is super comfortable and warm. The bathroom is great and looks amazing. Especially the tissue holder :-)!!! Troys two dogs Annie and Ella are super friendly and like to be loved. They both have a super good behavior and making the house more alive. We didn't expect, but Troy made a big surprise for us. In the morning we got a three course breakfast. It was so delicious and so unique. Troy is a good cook and believe me if you will choose his house you will never forget it! When I set there and had my breakfast, I felt like it's my house and I have my own butler. The feeling was amazing!!! Troy is a great, friendly and helpful person. You will never be bored with him and his place is really unique!!!! I would love to come again!!!! :-)

This spacious 1 BR apartment is located on the second floor of a charming 1930s Craftsman home – lovingly restored with beautiful light and flow, and a blend of warmth and minimalism. The apartment serves as a perfect home base for experiencing the beauty and culture of Upstate New York. Or just chill at home with a good book and your laptop. The spacious eat-in-kitchen is perfect for whipping up a delicious meal with fresh ingredients purchased at Adams Fair Acre Farms just 5 minutes up the road. The apartment features 1 bedroom with queen-sized bed, and a large living room with 2 twin fold-down beds w/ memory foam mattresses. As well as a 77" standard sofa that can serve as a bed for one.
  • The apartment was wonderful! Seth was terrific. Before we left, he sent a long email with instructions and also recommendations of restaurants and other places of interest. We used this several times, which made our stay better than if we'd just used an app to show which restaurants/groceries/ etc. were in the area. Interior decor in the apartment was really neat! Bed was comfortable. Everything was clean (windows were so clean I kept thinking they were open). Would definitely stay here again if we came back to Poughkeepsie!

    Jeanette2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time! Apt was exactly what you see on pictures, very well designed and maintained. A true little hidden gem, and a perfect getaway from the city. We loved the passion for details, and Seth's very detailed list of recommendations truly made the experience 10 times better. He knows how to cater to his guests needs and backgrounds. We would absolutely go back, and definitely recommend this place.

    Fabien2016-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • My brother and I stayed at Seth's apartment over a weekend and had an amazing experience. The place is beautifully decorated, the bookshelf is stocked with classics and must-reads and the location makes it a perfect home base to explore upstate NY. Seth went above and beyond in providing us with suggestions on what to do, where to eat, where to hike, etc. We managed to hit many of the items on his list, and we were not disappointed a single time. We couldn't have been happier with the apartment, and we can't imagine there being a better place to stay or a better host to have in Poughkeepsie.

    David2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Seth was very welcoming and made sure to provide us with a great and extensive list of places and restaurants to explore in the area. The house is incredibly well decorated, clean and the craftsman details are most enjoyable. We didn't have a car (took the train up from NYC) and would highly recommend that guests have one as Poughkeepsie is not so walking friendly and Taxi service is lacking (Uber doesn't exist up there). Seth also provided taxi numbers which helped with our stay. We highly recommend this little Poughkeepsie gem!

    Catherine2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Poet Guest House Apartment is a charming and peaceful apartment for two people located within few minutes driving time of Vassar College. Although the house isn't much to look at from the outside, the apartment itself is extremely relaxing to be in. It has great light. And the owner has decorated the apartment tastefully. Seth offered us many fine recommendations for things to do and places to eat while in Poughkeepsie, and was prompt in responding to requests for more information. He was professional and courteous.

    Joe2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • We can't praise this place enough! Seth was a super welcoming host, provided us with a ton of super helpful (and very hip) information about the area and the apartment as soon as we booked. The place was immaculate upon arrival and Seth was super attentive for any of our questions. Everything we needed was there, and so clean - shampoo, conditioner, full kitchen, ect. We didn't have a car (by choice) and got around easily for 2 days, with lots to do on foot. If you are interested in exploring outdoors and hiking/lakes, other towns, ect. you'll definitely need a car since the apartment is in a residential area. For us, it was a perfect 2 day escape from the city, with more than enough books, movies, music and zen decor to enjoy in the apartment, and a market and Walkway Over the Hudson less than 30 mins away.

    Lindsey2015-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • I found The Poet Guest House to be exactly as described. I was visiting Poughkeepsie for a Vassar College event and it’s less than a mile from campus, so very convenient. I’m a middle aged woman and felt very safe and comfortable in the home. The bed was very comfortable and I loved the furnishings. Every meal I had was at the suggestion of Seth, and all were excellent. The unexpected gift was Seth’s thorough knowledge of places to eat within an hours drive, and suggestions of things to do in the surrounding towns. While I didn’t have time for those things on this trip, I plan to file away his research! I would stay here again if I’m up in that area.

    Ginny2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • The experience exceeded our expectations. Seth has a wonderful eye for good design. We visited Poughkeepsie with our adult son in February and found both units in the GSGH beautiful, comfortable and the location very convenient. We took full advantage of Seth's terrific set of recommendations for cool places to eat and explore. The true test of a great host is how they handle issues when they inevitable come up. When we had a slight glitch with the heat on our last night Seth was an ideal host and was on top of it immediately. We recommend GSGH without hesitation and plan to stay there again when visit the area in the summer.

A snug, rustic getaway only 75 miles from New York City. Our newly renovated barn is near fine restaurants and the banks of the Hudson River. Visit Storm King or the Walkway over the Hudson, go hiking, travel our Craft Beverages, Distilleries and Wine Trail! Take in New Paltz, Hyde Park, Woodstock, Rhinebeck for fun shops, restaurants and history. A truly gracious space with top reviews, we are easy to get to by train or car and Uber is available. Have a wonderful getaway in the Hudson Valley!
I am told again and again that our photos don't reflect the beauty and size of the space. It is quite large and very pretty! We hope you will love the antiques, artwork, and amenities. Fully renovated, it has a large great room, a galley kitchen, a dining area, a lounging/TV area, a sitting and reading corner, and a queen sleeper sofa. The separate bedroom has a queen sized bed and a washer and dryer. There is a deck for lounging, al fresco dining and enjoying the gardens. We supply handmade soaps, fair trade coffee, and Sonoma linens and high speed wifi. We are located in an old Quaker part of the village of Milton. The barn was used for the gardens and greenhouses that were part of the original larger property. There are beautiful gardens all around the house and the river is at the foot of the hill! There is also a lake behind the house and an old Quaker cemetery next door. Very friendly neighbors! However this property is not a farm; it is in an active neighborhood with country life going on. The barn was originally used for the gardens, not farm animals. Since we live on property and have close neighbors we ask that you be respectful if you are returning late at night by being quiet and turning off outside lights. Unfortunately we don't feel that our space is suitable for children under 12.
We are very central to everything the Hudson Valley offers The Poughkeepsie train station is 5 miles away and taxis, Uber, car rental and Zipcars are available from the station. We are within a short driving distance from Vassar, Marist, SUNY New Paltz, and several other colleges and schools. A partial list of attractions and distances: In Milton and Marlborough We are very fortunate to have a world class music and art venue in the neighborhood. Please make sure to drop by THE FALCON for brunch or dinner, drinks, and amazing artwork and music! We also have many fine vineyards in town; you can visit them by following our very own Shawangunk Wine trail Bad Seed Hard Cider Tasting Orchards- Fruit picking Riverfront Park Nearby Another local claim to fame, the Walkway Over the Hudson, is in Highland NY, 4 miles north. It is the highest pedestrian walkway in the world and a breathtaking experience! Make sure to take it in, it is easy to find and has lots of parking. Rail Trail Biking and Hiking-Ulster and Dutchess County Fanny Reese Park- Highland NY. Hiking Minnewaska State Park, Gardiner NY. Hiking and Rock Climbing Poughkeepsie - 4 miles: The Bardovan Theater Shopping and Restaurants the Chance Theater Civic Center Locust Grove Historic home of Samuel Morse The Ranch Skydiving Gardiner NY New Paltz -10 miles Shopping and restaurants Hiking and Climbing the "Gunks" Hyde Park- 12 miles Shopping and Restaurants Franklin D Roosevelt Home Hyde Park- 12 miles Vanderbilt Mansion Hyde Park -13 mile Storm King Art Center Cornwall NY, 20 miles West Point Military Academy Tours and Museum- 24 miles Beacon NY- 14 miles Galleries and restaurants DIA Art Foundation Colleges Marist 7 miles Culinary Institute 9 miles (several restaurants on site, reservations required) Vassar- 9 miles Mount Saint Mary 11 miles SUNY New Paltz 11 miles Kingston is 15 miles away and there are just too many attractions to list but I will mention the Rondout waterfront is amazing and you can rent kayaks there at A Day Away Kayak Rentals. Amazing restaurants and Maritime museum, lighthouse tours, etc!
  • Lovely and charming little place. Was great for me and a couple friends (two in bedroom, one on couch). Jeannie was kind, responsive and proactive about coordination.

  • This cabin is super cozy, well decorated, clean, and easy to find. The host Jennie was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. We spent most of our time exploring Poughkeepsie, which was a quick 10 minute drive away. Highly recommend renting out this adorable place!!

    Rachel2017-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful host and great location to get away from the hustle and bustle. Driveable to other things if desired.

    Ryan2017-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • The barn is beautiful. The perfect amount of seclusion from the big city, but close enough to restaurants and places in Milton. Jennie was extremely friendly and had great recommendations for things to do and places to eat at nearby.

    Brianne2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Jennie's exceeded our expectations. Although the room is located in a nice village, we felt as if we were in our own little cottage in the woods. The space includes a large main room very conducive to reading and relaxing, a roomy kitchenette, a large sleeping area and small bath. Each of the rooms were very clean and thoughtfully decorated and visitors will enjoy the artistic touches throughout. We definitely hope to return when we find ourselves back in the Hudson Valley.

    Ken2016-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • We planned this trip very last minute. Jennie received the request and answered quickly. She made everything easy even including detailed directions. She had the barn warmed up for us and she basically had everything you could possibly need in the house. And she knew the best places to visit and eat !!! The barn was the coziest place we’ve stayed in and was very close to towns like New Paltz. We loved it and will try to make it a tradition of coming here. There were some rain showers and it was cold, but she salted everything. We just loved this place.

    Lisa2017-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely hidden gem. Our weekend here was lovely! We had a couple of great dinners and meals in town. This is such a nice place to relax and spend quality time together. Jennie even has puzzles to pass the time :) if music is important for your stay, make sure to bring a little Bluetooth speaker with you. We did and it worked out nicely.

    Kareem2018-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • I was attending a wedding at Buttermilk Inn which is about a mile away from Jennie’s place so the location could not be more perfect. I could have easily walked if the weather had permitted it. I was originally supposed to stay with a friend but ended up staying by myself - I was sad when I walked in to the house because it was wat too cute to not share the experience with someone!! It’s such a romantic little guesthouse(you get a whole house just for you). Bed is comfortable and you just see the garden and hear birds outside the windows. It was just lovely. The only thing I wanted to note(not as an issue for me but possibly for other guests) is that the shower booth is quite small - if you have a bigger build, you should still be fine to take showers but you might feel a little squeezed with not too much room to move around. I’m sure not many would do this in the area but I didn’t rent a car so I resorted to rideshare; be advised cars take quite a while to come to you since they usually come all the way from Poughkeepsie station area(about 15 min away). The evening I arrived Jennie had some free time so she even offered me a ride to the wedding venue which I appreciated so so much!!! Oh and of course I left my jacket hanging in the closet(I realized once I was on the train back to the city) so I had to inconvenience her again but she so kindly took it all the way over to Buttermilk for my friend to bring to me. Sorry again.... all in all I recommend staying at Jennie’s if you can! Bring your significant other or a friend or a family member and sit around talking in the cute living room she has set up ! Thank you for everything Jennie :)

A Cool, Quiet, Artistic 1930's Bungalow with an acre of fenced in space!! We Welcome all Beings, Humans, Faiths and Colors, as well as Dogs and Cats! Great all year round!!!
I've opened my Air BnB in April of this year and it has been a great success!! People seem to love the vibe and the quiet. But I've also noticed that not all AirBnB's offer pet space and Hotels are expensive with no run! What I provide is an acre yard for solitude or for pets to run. The fire pit and paved driveway are great in the winter, and dogs just LOVE it right now. I've had cat and dog owners, and all agree that this is a pretty good deal if you want to bring them on vacation with you. But you don't need to be a pet owner either, as you can read in my reviews!! You'll dig it!
The neighborhood is very safe and very quiet. Close to Vassar, Marist, Dutchess Community College and the Culinary Institute of America as well as a direct route by rail into NYC. North of here is Woodstock and the Catskill Mountains, and some great bike trails including the Rail Trail!!
  • We had a great stay!

    Bob2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was super easy to communicate with and was very flexible. The house is very trendy, modern and comfortable and the cats are a huge bonus. Would recommend to anyone.

    Chuck2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Christopher was very nice and accommodating. His place has a lot of character. We enjoyed our stay

    Danielle2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Christopher was BEYOND accommodating as a host. He picked me up at the airport late at night even when they switched flights to an airport 40 miles farther than expected! I don't know many hosts who would've done that! He also watched my cat while I was in NYC for 2 nights. Christopher always tried to go above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. Neighborhood and home are lovely also. Thanks Chris!!!

    Melissa2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time at Christopher's...his feline staff, Bebo and Roscoe, greeted me on arrival (I met his shy little girl, Daphne, later.) Christopher himself arrived after his late shift at his "day job". I was very comfortable the whole time I was there, and my host(s) were very flexible, allowing me to check in a day early for about the same daily rate. It was very close to the nursing home my mum lives in now, so I had more visits with her than I might have otherwise. All in all a great first time visit, I'll probably be back in the fall to see Mum again, and I'll definitely want to at least visit Christopher's Gallery of fine art again...a great fit for me, and I believe other cat lovers will be very comfortable there as well.

    Doug2017-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Chris place was great, he was always very easy to communicate. The house is in meddle of nature, in a very calm street. It's exactly like the pictures. The big bedroom is confortable, we had a shared bathroom, but it was super ok. It was the perfect home away from home for 3 days. Our dog Lua also loved the house and the super friendly cats :) I would stay there again!

    Daphne2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • There are so many great parks and outdoor recreation areas nearby, and the restaurants and river-front in downtown Poughkeepsie is minutes away.

    Laura2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very quiet, spacious and safe place. It has a welcoming, calm, artistic vibe. Christopher is a great host. He made every effort to make my stay comfortable. I'll definitely stay there again in the future.

  • Such a perfect situation for me, I felt like I was staying with family. Mariama was away but her son was very nice and a great host. This is what AirBnB is all about. Thanks for hosting me at your home.

  • What a gracious host. A very relaxed and easy stay.

    Stephanie2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Mariama's place. It felt like home and Mariama was very welcoming along with the black cat sweet Oreo. It was a great overnight stay while visiting Vassar college. Thank you , Mariama.

    Shawna2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Mariama is a very warm, friendly and lovely host. Before my arrival she was easy to comunícate with and she was helpful and provided me with the information i needed for my stay. The location is 5-10 min drive from Poughkeepsie center but it's easy to get around with an uber if you don't have a vehicle and Mariama is happy to drive to supermarket and train station if she is available. The house is located in a nice and quiet neighbourhood and has a little garden that I really appreciated. The room I stayed in was cosy with a comfortable bed. I stayed with Mariama for 6 weeks and I felt like home already after a few days. Im gonna miss the house, her and Oreo (her super sweet cat that comes cuddling with you when you need company) and will definitely stay there again if I get the chance to come back!

She made us fruit smoothie, blueberry pancakes, and coffee/tea in the morning. This was definitely one of the best stops on our entire road trip!

My warm & inviting ranch home has a true homey feeling. It comfortably accommodate 4 people (please unreported guest will be charged extra $15 per person per night just be honest about it); located in heart of Hyde Park. Just mins to Culinary Institute of America and Marist College; perfect for parents attending graduations or orientations , FDR Presidential Library, Vanderbilt Mansion and Walkway over the Hudson all within mins away.
This beautiful newly renovated ranch has 2 bedrooms and a good size bathroom with laundry unit; fully equipped kitchen with outdoor fenced in patio. There's a 2 good size sofas for guests in the living room to hang out and watch the ball games. There is a dining table will seat 4 people and 2 extra bar stools with island in the kitchen.
This neighborhood was built 1950s; its literally 3 mins from FDR Presidential Library by car. 6 mins from Vanderbilt Mansion, Culinary Institution of America about 3 mins drive and that makes this house so appealing
  • Cynthia’s place was fantastic! It’s spacious and very clean. We enjoyed the treats and coffee out on the patio every morning. One of the nicest places we have stayed. Ideal location to visit FDR home and Val Kill as well as bike or walk the Hyde Park trails.

  • Best place to stay in Hyde Park!

    Keshiki2016-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. We'll equipped and maintained. We'll stocked. Close to FDR site.

    Joe2017-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so conveniently located to the Visitor's Center for all the FDR/Eleanor tours. Cynthia is a very accommodating hostess and the place is immaculate with lots of amenities!

    Anna2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia's place lived up to its excellent reviews and was very much as advertised. We didn't meet her in person but she was a perfect host by remote control. She responded to messages instantly and checked in to make sure everything was going well. Her house is in an ordinary, quiet suburban development, pleasant enough and conveniently located. The FDR estate is just across the road, and there's a craft brewery pub just up the road and a drive-in movie theater just past that. Inside, everything is comfortable, very new, and exceptionally clean. I've never stayed anywhere that was so well stocked with little packaged things--everything from toiletries to Keurig coffee and popcorn. This reinforced the impression that Cynthia was really dedicated to making us feel welcome and well cared for.

    Jonathan2016-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay here immensely! The house was just the right size for our needs, and the location was absolutely ideal for our purposes. It's located very near to the Culinary Institute of America, where we spent a great deal of our visit, Marist College, and downtown Poughkeepsie. There is good shopping in a mall just the other side of a wooded area and across Albany Post road, so it's within easy walking distance, as is the FDR Presidential Library, with Eleanor Roosevelt's home at Val-Kil only a few minutes drive away. The house was exceptionally clean, very attractive, and very well organized. The furniture was modern and comfortable, there was an abundance of clean linens, numerous snacks and beverages, and wonderful clean and modern stainless steel appliances. The host, Cynthia, was very friendly and approachable, and proved very helpful and considerate with respect to any minor issues that arose. Our overall feeling was that our stay was an extremely positive experience, and we were very impressed, both with Cynthia, and with this house. We would most happily stay again!

  • I came up with a friend for the NY Sheep and Wool festival in Rhinebeck. It was an easy trip to the Duchess County fairgrounds. Check-in was easy, the place was spotless. A+ would bnb again.

This listing you get 2 bedrooms. If you want only 1 bedroom select the other listing under BnB SHARE 1 bdrm, City Home. That's $49 a night, this one is $59 a night because of the 2nd bedroom use. This is a "City" home with what I call a country feel near all colleges, train n hospitals. It is a 2 story home, w upstairs bedroom n private half bath. Down a small bedroom. The first floor has a extra lg. shower stall, no tub. Great room, combines living room n kitchen.
The share simply means I usually fall asleep on the sofa, waiting for folks to get home. I and my dogs are up 6 AM to make the Breakfast. The dogs will bark. I give you as much space as you need, but I'm around most of the time. You are entitled to use, more or less, the total of the home, but I am there all the time, as I live there with my 2 dogs. Oft times we all watch TV together, and I find I often fall asleep on the sofa waiting for folks to come home. One person has had a problem with this situation. I point it out because of that. Because I live here, I am going to be there. I have always stated this in my ad. Also I have to be up to cook and clean 6 am, so falling asleep on the sofa is no problem to me. My cousin some times sleeps in the play house, sometimes with one dog in there. Keep in mind dogs bark. I also need to point out that we are updating the home, so things like trim and some extra things I am doing may not be completed when you get here. Nothing we are doing will get in the way of your stay. I just want you to understand while there may be trim, or tile, etc. that needs to be put up, it has never been an issue to most folks. (Had a carpenter who stayed a week, so you know he pointed out EVERYYHING 😘) So, if you are the "white glove" kind of person, you might pick another spot, as those of you who have dogs know it's impossible to keep every spot free of tell take doggie signs. Also since the space is a 2nd story cape, one customer said I should say it is an "attic".. This is a bedroom, taxed as a bedroom and approved as a bedroom. It is not an attic. Please review the pictures, before you book. Thanks.

  • Tom and Mo's place was fantastic! It's an amazing value. The price is great, the location can't be beat, and the thoughtful touches they include are heartwarming (OJ, water, English muffins, chips, etc.). We can't wait to come back for another visit. An added bonus, Tom offered us tickets for the Walkway over the Hudson fireworks show. We were too busy to take them up on the offer, but it was very thoughtful!

    Adam2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The place is amazing!! Literally felt as though I was at my own house. The amenities are out-of-this-world! I can tell that Tom & Mo really cares about their guests while respecting privacy. My boyfriend and I went up to New Paltz area for a quick weekend getaway. Bought tons of utensils, food, etc. at a local supermarket only to find out that they had them all at the house ready to be used! They were very quick in responding back to our messages and made our trip a very memorable one. Cant thank enough and for the price and location, definitely worth it and I would love to come back again!

  • Tom and Mo have a wonderful place to stay and so convenient to downtown New Paltz. Their place is super clean, quiet, comfortable and supplied with many "extras". We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Communication was super easy and fast responses.

    Renee2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Mo's place is in a great location, it is clean and cozy, and they provide lots of extra treats and local tips. I 100% recommend staying here! We had the best time.

  • Tom and Mo's place was perfect for my wife and I. The house is clean and spacious. There's nice touches like chips, orange juice, coffee and bottled water. The location is so close to downtown New Paltz. To top it off, the bed and bedding is super comfortable. Great value!

    Jeffrey2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Mo have a cozy space that is comfortably furnished and designed to be welcoming. They also went above and beyond, providing snacks and breakfast in the fridge that were so thoughtful. Communication was quick and thorough so it was a smooth process beginning to end. I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a place in the area!

    Lauren2018-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Mo were great hosts, they went out of their way to make our stay comfortable including setting up a second bed. They were quick to respond/communicate and it was a easy check-in and check-out. Their place is in a nice, quiet neighborhood just a short drive to the heart of New Paltz. The apartment was very clean & roomy with well stocked items and thoughtful touches (a variety of complimentary cereals, shampoo, toothpaste in case you forget, etc). The separate bedroom had a super comfortable bed, and beautiful views of the woods. I wish we had had time to sit out on the private patio in the backyard with views all around. I would definitely recommend their place!

Deborah was a thoughtful host, communicative and hospitable, and the bedroom was incredibly comfortable, stocked with water and morning coffee. The house is well located, near Wappington Falls services and the NY Thruway. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or return!

My place is good for cooks, solo adventurers, business travelers, and furry friends (pets). This lovely Cosy room features a new comfy double bed. Private bathroom has a deep soaking claw foot tub.
Built in 1827 this Greek Revival features a secret room in the basement you can only get to through the trap door in the dinning room floor. 9' ceilings on the ground floor. 6+/- acre property is fully fenced and gated. Cook's room guest must enter and exit by the back staircase. Cosy room has a double bed (new). Wonderful deep claw-foot soaking tub for a relaxing bath.
Red Oaks Mills is centrally located and we live near the trail trail for cycling and walking enthusiasts. Walkway over the Hudson is only minutes away. Minutes from Vassar College and close to Marist.
  • Just wonderful. This is a cozy, ample space in a gracious home, on a wonderful, large, and quiet property. Access to Hudson Valley activities and Vassar College are perfect, while providing a quiet getaway with a conscientious, friendly, and helpful host, in a historic home. I can't say enough good things!

  • Tremendous experience! Didi and Jim made every effort to make us feel at home. Staying at a close to two century old great house in a beautiful setting is unforgettable. The room had a phenomenal view to a snow covered forest. The accommodations were splendid. And a dog friendly environment to boot. Our boxer, like us, enjoyed the stay making friends with their adorable dogs.

    George2018-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our first time doing airbnb and we were so happy to have started on such a high note ! Didi and Jim are so welcoming and fun to be with ! We got on great with the dogs and cats (even the cat that is more wary !) too ! An added bonus was that, unknown to us, my nephew had also booked to stay with them, so we had a mini-family reunion ! The rooms are beautifully furnished, the shower works well, there is plenty of bath linen and the bed was really comfortable and it is lovely and quiet at night. Didi is a great cook and very generous, and we had some great discussions in both French (great for my hubby !) and in English. All in all, a great place to stay, and it's a pity it's so far away !

    Eileen2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This 1825 home sits far back from the road atop 6 private acres bordering another 20+ acres of nature preserve/state land with paths. I would have loved to hike through this area but it was raining during my stay. Didi is a wonderful hostess. The house is charming, and the value is excellent. Beautiful old clawfoot bathtub in your private bath and the mattress/bed was brand new and extremely comfortable. I brought my dog, and she had a wonderful time as well. Yard is completely fenced in, and Didi's dogs are older and friendly.

    Emily2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this place is amazing! The house is super charming, the room itself is very nice and comfortable. The area is very beautiful and secluded. It was a perfect place to escape the city. I visited them with my dog and they were both so accommodating and sweet. They really helped me make the most of my trip. I feel like I won the airbnb lottery with this one. I will definitely be back!

    alex2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Didi was excellent and worked with us even though our plans changed during the process. The place was nice and clean.

  • A cozy space in a beautiful and historic home. The hosts were welcoming and eager to show us around the property.

    Josh2017-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Didi and Jim were exceptionally friendly hosts. They made us feel right at home. The house is historic and charming, and located close to routes that will take you to any part of Dutchess County to explore. Pet friendly, a great location for a weekend getaway, and just lovely people.

  • I arrived at the house later then I intended, Janet was communicative and understanding as it pertained to my fluctuating arrival time. Once we got there, Christine was waiting and quickly gave a tour of the room and gave us instructions in regards to locking the door and the availability of the space heater. We made ourselves at home and enjoyed our night together as a couple would. At a point in the night after falling asleep, I awoke to find a message from Janet requesting us to check out in the morning. The host deemed noise loud and suggested we stay elsewhere. Upon reading the message we had apologized, asked politely if we could continue staying at it would've been inconvenient to go elsewhere, and we asked to speak with Janet the next morning before a proposed checkout. She relented in us leaving under the circumstance we respected their privacy. She did not seek to communicate personally but through Airbnb which was to her discretion. Throughout our first night sm staying, we had used the bathroom and the bowl would fill up with water. I tried to plunge it and let it settle. On the following day after stepping out I alerted Janet to our issue, she let us know the issue was resolved and presumed we had been throwing things in the toilet. We had only used the bathroom and flushed toilet paper in. She informed us of the proper way to flush her toilet, you must flush and turn the handle up so the water didn't continue to run. We noticed an odious smell within the bathroom and weren't sure if it was from the water or something else. The next day we stayed in and relaxed inside. It was pleasant, the bed was comfortable, everything was to our liking overall. During the day we heard footsteps and conversation alike which gave credence as to why we were heard the initial night. Janet asked us when we intended to checkout the night before we let her know. She gave instructions to us in regards to leaving the key inside and leaving the place as we found it. We checked out the next morning and left things we found them. Overall it was a good stay.

  • The 2 room portion of the house with bath was good for our visit. This a place to stay when you are gonna be out and about and need a home base close to your places to visit. One of the rooms has a small fridge and microwave with a Kurig. We brought our laptops and watched Netflix at night when we returned from our day excursions. There is radient heat. This was nice as we experienced temps in the teens. Taking a shower in the spa tub then getting out to a heated floor was great! Nice thirsty towels. We we very comfortable. So close to everything Hyde Park and Poughkeepsie.

  • A friend and I weren't able to show up until 1 am. Despite this super inconvenient timing, Goswald was waiting for us and let us in and showed us our room. He was very friendly and nice. Good place and the right price. One suggestion to future guests; we stayed a Wednesday into a Thursday (weekdays when normal people go to their jobs). These people are working people so they get up early. Since the room is beneath the house, you will hear them walking around and taking showers in the morning. If you can't deal with it, this may not be the place for you.

Sunny, semi-private lodging on the second floor of a historic downtown mansion. My art studio has a comfy queen-size convertible bed; a separate sitting room has 2 hotel twin convertible beds that can be joined into a queen bed. Private entrance. Charming private bathroom with clawfoot tub and 1880s stained-glass window. Enjoy a beverage on the breezy back porch. A third room in the Robin's Nest apartment is my smaller art studio, which might be in use during your stay (it has its own door).
Two rooms and a private clawfoot bathtub/shower in a separate apartment, on the second floor of our spacious, warmly furnished historic home. The apartment features a cozy back porch—perfect for sipping your morning coffee or tea, or enjoying a beverage while watching the sun set. We offer guests coffee, tea, and continental breakfast in our home on the main floor.
Our home is situated on an intimate cul-de-sac oasis of four historic homes, two historic public buildings, and a church. Walking distance to the Walkway over the Hudson, Waryas Hudson River park, the Bardavon and Cunneen Hackett theaters, government offices, and several great restaurants and bars. Our porches and back yards are available for your enjoyment.
  • Pina is a sincerely gracious host who wants to please. However, we found the fact that there were no real beds in the space, disappointing. The two "twin" beds are 32" wide metal cots, and not appropriate for the average sized adults. The space they are in does not allow anywhere for setting the suitcase to open it up or store clothing. This space is open to the kitchen, entry and bathroom, and there was no privacy for the couple that stayed there as it had no door or walls. Whilst a very eclectic property, we city folks, felt the foldout queen bed should be exchanged for a real bed, and no extra charge should be added for the cots, or the guests willing to sleep on them. Parking was a problem as it was very limited, on street. (though Pina was kind enough to let us pull in behind her car for the few nights we stayed). We were in town for a wedding, and super busy, so we spent no time at the property except to sleep. A tv in the unit would have been appropriate as sharing the living room downstairs with the host, were not something we were comfortable doing. The location was convenient to stores and restaurants and the neighborhood was quiet.

  • Wonderful hosts! We were so pleased with the accommodations and also the service. I would recommend this listing to anyone needing a place in the Poughkeepsie area! The hosting was warm and everything that is great about Airbnb! We will definitely be staying again if we need a soft landing in the area!

    Andrea2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • The robin's nest was exactly where we wanted to be in Poughkeepsie. The space was comfortable and the building beautiful. We particularly loved sitting out on the porch watching the sunset, walking down to Waryas park, and taking in DJ Fuzzy at the Derby.

  • This is a great place to stay if you ever find yourself in Poughkeepsie for the weekend. It's centrally located which is obviously convenient, and the house itself offers space and privacy. The hosts were truly lovely. Very warm and friendly, and super accommodating. They went above and beyond in many ways. Highly recommended.

  • This is a great spot for an eclectic stay. The location was great, walking distance to restaurants and the waterfront. Great breakfast in the morning and very friendly hosts.

    Matt2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is in a charming and quirky old house in a quiet side street with many original features. The bedroom is in Pina's studio which is just full of cupboards and shelves of art materials and photos and paintings to inspire her work. There is a big private verandah where you can enjoy a peaceful cup of tea in the morning and breakfast is taken downstairs with your hosts. There are sights to see and places to eat in easy walking distance. Pina and Daniel are lovely thoughtful interesting people and we enjoyed our long chats with them. We had come up to Poughkeepsie by train and had no car, so on the Sunday, as it was pouring with rain, they took us for an afternoon drive to Saugerties to show us the countryside and introduce us to the joys of antiquing!

The home is located on 3 acres of peaceful, wooded property with a pond and fountain in the front. A private entrance leads to the guest suite, with a living space, kitchen area, and separate bedroom and bath with shower. We are close to Hyde Park Historic Sites, the Culinary Institute of America, and local colleges. Welcome!
  • Pros. 1. Doris is adorable, warm and very helpful. 2. Snacks are plentiful and well organized. 3. The apartment, which is in the basement, is very clean and spacious. 4. The outdoor seating ie the porch etc seemed well kept but since it was chilly we couldn't use it Cons. 1. Almost zero water pressure in the shower. Close to a trickle. Combine that with the hardness of well water and showering took ages! 2. The bed is a double at best. Definitely not a queen. My wife and I took turns to sleep on the couch. 3. The heat comes on accompanied by a thousand groans of pipings. Very very noisy!

  • From the moment we drove up, Doris was welcoming, funny, and simply lovely!! She was the most thoughtful and gracious hostess!! The apartment was private, and we were allowed to wander the gorgeous, quiet, wooded property. The surrounding town was lively, fun, and had great food and history!!! We will most definitely book with Doris again, and for a longer stay.

The woods behind the home are also very serene and breathtaking. The guests suite is clean and has all the amenities you could wish for. She provided snacks for my daughter and I and a lovely breakfast as well. Conieniety locates in the Hudson Valley, there are many things to do in several areas.

  • Good and timely feedback to all questions made this an easy visit. This listing has shared bath and kitchen, but we did not nee the kitchen. A/C in the window was appreciated and worked well. Price is favorable for location and more than basic amenities.

  • Very nice room very clean house very welcoming. Only minor thing I would say is. simple listing of the channels for people that are not local. ground coffee for the coffee maker and better communication about where to find the keys. We would visit again and stay with Van for sure!

  • I had a very pleasant stay In Van's home. He was very friendly and accommodating and flexible with our schedule. The room and space are as pictured. The parking space is a plus as there was very limited street parking. Van was also helpful in suggesting local places for a couple to enjoy on a night out. I recommend Van's stay to anyone in the Poughkeepsie area for travel.

  • Van was a great host, meeting me at the exact time we agreed on and made me feel welcome in his home. He let me know who was staying in the other rooms. The room was as described, small, cozy and quiet. The room had a window air conditioner for the evenings where it was a bit warmer. The private parking was great and the street was generally very quiet. The location was great, I went running over both bridges each morning. The car bridge is less than a half mile from the place.

  • I had a great first time Airbnb stay at Van's place, he was welcoming and check-in was easy. Everything was as described: great location, clean, quiet, fast wifi, and even a bottle of wine. This place is a good value and I would recommend it to anyone staying in Poughkeepsie.

  • Van is friendly, made my family and myself feel very welcome. Would highly recommend his airbnb to others.

  • Van was a wonderful host. He made sure that we had everything that we needed and was very prompt with answering our messages. We had no trouble coordinating our arrival and it was very easy to leave the keys behind. The location is very convenient for anyone traveling by train. Van also leaves a lot of snacks for his guests!

  • The stay at Van's was very comfortable and clean. The location was right in the city which was great for my visit. I would stay again

Located in the historic part of Poughkeepsie. This multifamily home is in a beautiful residential area close to all major attractions in the Hudson valley. Walking distance to metro north train, Vassar hospital, and the beautiful walkway over the Hudson. Within 15 minutes walk/5 minute drive to Marist College, Vassar college , and the culinary institute of America. Huge variety of restaurants and pubs in the area
Clean, quiet, and private, with private parking
    It is quiet and private
  • Great place! Van was very accommodating and helpful. He made sure to help me check in even when my plans changed. The bottle of wine was a very nice touch! He did come into the apartment unannounced, which I found a bit surprising. But, overall I’d recommend it

  • Consistency is very important. If I need any assistance Van is always responsive. And Van's location is always clean and quiet. And the off street parking is a plus!

  • This is my second time staying at Van's place and it's great! It's clean, comfy and convenient. The location is residential within walking distance of restaurants and the train station. I highly recommend staying here.

  • Nice clean place, Van even setup some snacks for us. Definitely recommended.

  • Van failed to reach out to me after my request was automatically accepted. I had to initiate contact with him a few days prior to arrival to confirm that he was still expecting me. I never could get Wifi connection. He was sending me messaging to "try" this password. He was slow to reply to my messages asking for help. I finally asked him to call me to help resolve the problem, which he never did. The bed wasn't comfortable because there was no box spring. On a positive note: His check-in instructions were clear, he puts a bottle of wine in the room and it's pretty quiet there. However, overall it wasn't a positive experience. I've used Airbnb probably 50 times this year, so I know how guests should be treated. I can't recommend.

  • Beautiful apartment in a convenient location. Van was super professional and everything was super smooth. The apartment also smells really nice :) Highly recommend staying with Van!

  • Stayed solo 2 nights for a local cycling event. My expectations for a private room with shared bath, kitchen, living area were far exceeded! Rooms within the house are all individually secure and Van has a great check in system. Common areas were well appointed and open. Shared a bathroom with a very nice couple with no issues at all. Walking distance to waterfront restaurants/taverns. All that and parking right beside the house. Highly recommend!

  • Van's place is well located and was very clean. It was the perfect road trip stop for us.

Close to Vassar College, Marist College, Walkway Over the Hudson, FDR Presidential Library/Home, Eleanor Roosevelt Home, Rail Trails, Shopping, Restaurants & Vassar Hospital. You’ll love the comfy bed, cozy feeling, quiet neighborhood, central location. Coffee, tea, sparkling water provided. Perfect for couples, parents and kids looking at colleges, academic lecturers in town for a few days, and solo adventurers. Large private back yard with hammock and anti gravity chairs.
Wifi is available in your room. There is one TV in the living room - you're welcome to join me if I'm home watching, or watch on your own if I'm out. Laundry (washer/dryer) available if needed. I am an avid recycler of all plastics, non private paper, aluminum and glass, and ask that you use my recycle receptacles for those items. Thank you. I
I've lived in this house for many years and found it to be a very safe neighborhood. While there are no sidewalks, there isn't much traffic, so its very conducive to taking walks for those who enjoy doing so.
  • Erica has a very nice place, and she is a great host! Highly recommended!!

  • A great place to stay when visiting the Poughkeepsie area. Erica is a friendly, great host who provided everything we needed and even accommodated special circumstances (we got in very late due to a late flight and she worked with us on that!!). The home is clean, the bed comfortable, the location a perfect relaxing get-a-way spot in a quiet bedroom community, conveniently located near shops, groceries, colleges, and the Hudson River trail. The Culinary Institute is not far away either - a great place for breakfast by chefs-in-training! I recommend it without reservation and when in the area will most definitely book this location again!

  • I attended a wedding close to Erica's, so it was a perfect home base for me. The house and room are comfortable (and just as described), and Erica was a lovely and helpful host. Though my stay was very brief, I felt right at-home with her and the space. It's not far to anything you may need, but it was definitely helpful to have a car.

  • An excellent place to stay. It is as advertised. It is very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was right across the hall from our bedroom and easily accessible. Erica was very helpful in telling us what to see in the area. It seems to be in the middle of everything. We attended a convention in Newburgh as well as visiting the Roosevelt Homes and Vanderbilt mansion. All destinations were just a short drive from Erica's.

  • Erica has a really lovely place that is really clean and cozy. She has a good size room for two and a bathroom that’s nice as well. I would have stayed a second night, but it wasn’t available. So book early and have a nice trip.

    Boris2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Erica was a wonderful host. Her house was clean and welcoming and she was very knowledgeable about the area. She’s very interesting to talk to and makes a filling but not heavy breakfast if you take her up on that offer. I would highly recommend her place to anyone who wants a nice, quiet place to rest.

    Renee2018-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Erica is one of the nicest persons you could wish to meet. Hospitable, friendly and most helpful. The room was immaculate and Erica had a great breakfast ready for us every morning. It was a delight staying there and I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks again, Erica!

    Philipp2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy! A+ Erica's place is perfect for the solo traveler or a cozy couple. The house is vintage 50's with original floors and woodwork. Everything modern has been seamlessly integrated to not look out of place. The house is tastefully decorated with books and art from her travels. Erica is warm, welcoming and a great conversationalist. Because this is a post war saltbox style house, the room was small (as were all rooms in this home) but the bed was large and very comfortable. The large bathroom had plenty of hot water for showers. My daughter and I stayed one night before a college visit and we made tea and ate breakfast in the kitchen.

What a fantastic retreat!!! Kay met us there (and even accommodated an early check-in!) to give us a personal tour of their beautiful home. Everything about The Mission House is high end, but it still felt warm and inviting. It was cleaned meticulously prior to our arrival and was as gorgeous as the pictures depicted. They even provided us with a delicious birthday cake for my husband. The hot tub was INCREDIBLE and all of the guests were very comfortable in each of the four bedrooms. We stayed in the master bedroom which is simply stunning. The guest house, although extremely spacious with 2 beds and amazing details, was tricky to get to, particularly at night in the dark. Overall, this place (and the owners) are true gems.

We had a wonderful weekend in New Paltz. Sherrill and Clark were both so warm and friendly and made us feel so welcome. The apartment was very clean and both beds were very comfortable. The apartment was perfect for our family of four. The extra touch of leaving fresh fruit and breakfast items was much appreciated!! We will definitely want to stay again next time we are in New Paltz.
