The Cabin is privately located in Seatown a small hamlet under Golden Cap, the highest cliff on the south coast and next to the SW Coast Path, 200m from the sea and world heritage Jurassic Coast. The Cabin is has everything you will need including a spare camp bed and bbq. View Lyme bay, sunset and sea while dinning or just with a drink, in the Anchor inn beer garden on the cliff.
At 5 x 3 metres The cabin is compact with a comfy double bed + z bed if required, shower, small cooker, microwave, and fridge. Linen and towels are provided .There is broadband and a small tel . The patio outside is great for breakfast and dinner. Tea, coffee, milk and orange juice are provided. The Anchor Inn, next door serves good food . The lavatory is 50 meters away and also contains a washing machine and tumble dryer.
West Dorset is one of the most Beautiful and interesting parts of England, so much so that it is often used for film and television locations, Far From The Madding Crowd, Broadchurch, River Cottage, Tamara Drewe, The French Lieutenant's Woman and Harbour Lights, to name a few. The history and archaeology of the area are very interesting and the coast is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic coast. Lyme Regis with its ancient harbour and connection with the Monmouth Rebellion is a must. Bridport is a lively town with a brilliant street markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There are many pubs and restaurants, an Arts Centre and an original Art Deco cinema and the Lyric Theatre which has many children's events and puppetry entertainments as well as interesting plays.
  • The cabin is a really delightful little place to stay. Humphrey could not have been more accommodating and brought fresh juice and croissants each morning and was full of information about the area. It was nicely private and quite tucked away from anyone else which was lovely. As it rained quite a lot during our stay we were quite comfy in the little place. I must stress that it is not large but nicely done and really everything you need. The price was also very accommodating so if you are expecting a palace you will need to pay a lot more. The pub 2 minutes away cooks up delicious fish and we ate there nightly and the beach, though pebbly, is vast and clean. I would certainly spend another few days here on another occasion quite happily. A visit to Lyme Regis was charming and you are close to many national trust houses to visit. A real find!

  • What a lovely place to stay! The snug cabin is very close to the beach, and the location itself is quiet and offers a lot of privacy. It was really great that we could bring our small dog with us. Thanks!

  • Cosy little private cabin. Like a 5 min walk away from the beach and a nice pub. Perfect place to recharge your batteries and enjoy a relaxed walk. We really enjoyed our stay.

    Vidhyesh2017-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a brilliant week in Humphrey's cabin! It is in a perfect, peaceful location, 5 mins from the beach and the pub, 30mins walk to the summit of "Golden Cap" for those who like a good walk with beautiful views, and a short drive from many villages and towns along the jurassic coast. The cabin has everything you need, including shower and cooking facilities and a very comfortable bed. We absolutely loved it and will be coming back later in the year if we can find any availability left! Thanks Humph!

    David2016-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • It was great, we really enjoyed it. Was lovely having orange juice outside in the morning. Many Thanks to Humphrey!

  • The location is just great and very close to the coast in a beautiful area, the Jurassic Coast. The cabin offered everything you could ask for and is a great hidden gem. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and would come back anytime.

    David2016-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed the stay. So private and charming. Tucked away but close to a wonderful pub!

    Diane2017-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the cabin! It's really tucked away and secluded and although there's no sea view you can hear the sea and it's set in a pretty wooded garden. Seatown is really sweet, the pub is lovely for meals or drinks and the beach is fab for windy winter walks. The cabin is like a Polly Pocket - there was nothing missing that we needed (except a pen to do the crossword! My bad) there's a fold out table in case you want to eat a proper meal in the cabin, a lovely hot shower, and unless you're really picky the toilet being 50yards away is no big deal - Humph equips you with a powerful torch and an umbrella. The bed is super comfy and there's an electric blanket and a heater so you feel super cozy. It's the perfect hideaway for a lazy morning lying in bed reading the paper and listening to the birds (or the owl at night) followed by walks on the beach and a pub lunch. There's a lovely retro cinema in Bridport "The Electric Palace" which is fun for evening entertainment. Pack wellies in the winter if it's wet as the cabin is a stepping stone track across the garden.

  • Our host, the lovely Lisa Herridge, was more than welcoming to us throughout our stay. While some guests, as I learned, are perfectly happy left to their own devices, some like us chose to hang about from time to time, and in doing so we happily had the opportunity to get to know a bit about her and her family. I (who am a pianist) ended up making friends with her pianist daughter and having impromptu playing sessions. There was even an incident when we found we needed an oven and she was courteous enough to let us use hers!! Again, she has had people stay who just do their own thing and consequently she doesn't see much of them - and she's perfectly happy to leave them alone! - but like us, some like to stay and socialize and get to know the (beautiful, picturesque and very, very Dorset) neighborhood. She absolutely went above and beyond to make us comfortable and make sure our needs were met, from fresh-baked goods to (in my case) someone to confide in. I can honestly say I made a wonderful friend and I would recommend this very highly to anyone considering a stay in the West Country!

    Athena2014-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little Dorset bolt hole. Kitchen stocked far beyond out needs and perfectly clean and tidy. The bed is huge and almost impossible to leave. All in all we were very happy.

  • For our first experience of AirBnB all I can say is WOW!! I doubt if you could find a more hospitable, friendly host and an absolutely gorgeous accommodation. The accommodation is beautifully furnished, with all the commodities you could possibly need. Lisa really looks after you and in my eyes she goes far beyond expectation. She stocks the accommodation with lots of food and snacks, no need to bring anything. We visited the coast each day, from Bournemouth to Lulworth Cove and almost everywhere in-between and all is within easy reach. Thanks Lisa for a wonderful stay and for making us feel so welcome

  • The cottage is centrally located for touring local sites, lots to do within 30 miles radius. The garden picture does not do the justice to a lovely spring blossoms there right now. This is a charming ,well decorated and independent cottage within family yard with parking..Lisa is a great and very thoughtful host .Food supplies and snacks were in abundance.

    Thomas2016-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation is located in a beautiful English country garden. It comprises a very comfortable bed, an excellent stocked fridge for breakfast, a well equipped kitchen area. Lisa is an extremely friendly host who goes to great effort to make you feel welcome and provided very good directions to the cottage by text. It's the perfect venue for dog lovers; our dog was able to roam freely in the enclosed garden with the host's dogs pretty location with lovely walks and some very good nearby National Trust properties to visit. Excellent value for money. We would love to go back!

    Kate2015-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa is kind, helpful and incredibly thoughtful as you will discover if you stay at her lovely cottage. It was warm and very comfortable with luxuriously soft pillows and duvet - something rarely found elsewhere. She had put all manner of goodies in the fridge and in the kitchen right down to wine, juice and beer. She makes a wonderful breakfast and one is made to feel thoroughly welcome and instantly at home. We're house-hunting in Dorset and, having experienced it once, wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.

    Andrea2013-05-02T00:00:00Z

  • Great place to stay! David and Pamela seem to have thought of everything even fresh coffee beans and a welcome glass of wine! Really couldn't ask for more. My stay was very brief but I hope to return.

    Scot2016-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • David and Pamela's place is easy to get to and close to the beach and the shops. Free on street parking is also located outside if you're lucky enough as we were to get a space. Both David and Pamela are very friendly and helpful. The apartment is very clean and spacious, everything we needed for a weekend away. The kitchen is well stocked so no need to bring utensils. Defiantly would stay again and recommend to friends and family.

    Kieran 2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Hosts David and Pamela were great, contactable throughout our stay and very attentive and on hand if needed. The studio - a lovely space to unwind with all the facilities you need and more, although we did not avail of the drink and snack bar (pay as you use), this was a nice touch. Located a short walk from all the amenities Weymouth has to offer and perfectly located to explore Weymouth and surrounds on foot or by public transport. Thank you!

From shampoos and towels to the necessary food supplies. Pamela even gave us details about the area and places to visit. Very pleased with the whole experience. The place really felt like home.We definitely recommend staying at David's and Pamela. Thank you :) P.s. the complementary red wine was a great  enjoyment having it next to the fire place.

  • Great little place close to Weymouth seafront. Lots of charm, cosy and clean. Really warm welcome from Pam (and David) who took time to make sure we knew where everything was and how things worked; this was much appreciated. We were only staying one night but the apartment seemed to have all that you would need for a longer stay too. Definitely recommend. Thank you both.

A truly amazing floating tree house set in a spectacular private location in beautiful Dorset countryside. Tastefully decorated with everything you need for a cosy, romantic break. Mains power, Heating, Stereo, hot and cold water, toilet and showers. A basic kitchen with grill plate and everything you need, a fire pit, Bbq and a double bed with far reaching views. Simply an incredible and unique space for a romantic getaway. You will need to bring Bedding, towels and Ice for the Cooler box.
Built in the trees on top of a bank with a great view. Peaceful, purposefully basic, but has everything you actually need, to have a cosy romantic time. We have uninstalled wifi so you can actually enjoy talking to each other and listening to music on the sound system, being in nature and de-stressing. Feel free to walk around the site and see deer and great woodland to enjoy. You are only 2 minutes away from shops and great pubs if you need anything.
Quite, yet only 10 minutes away from Wimborne, Poole and Sandbanks beaches, The jurassic coast for walking and fossil hunting, and many other amazing Dorset attractions. There is a great car boot sale at Ashley wood if your a bargain hunter and numerous good country pubs.

  • We had an amazing time. It was just as fun / magical as we had hoped. The grounds are pretty spectacular and if you are after getting away from it and connecting with nature this is the place. We are 100% coming back for more.

  • A lovely place to go glamping. Your in a meadow surrounded by woodland, with a party field immediately behind you. I would take your own bbq as the one provided is very small. Ensure extra towels are with you to cover furniture. A small cosy shed to spend an evening.

  • We booked in a daddy/son night at the sphere after a go ape adventure and a bit of mountain biking for my sons birthday and it was perfect. The booking process was easy and being a first time user on this site I asked for the host to email and confirm the booking and he did. All the info provided in the itinerary made everything run smoothly from check in to check out and the sphere and location are both things my son will not forget. Thank you for helping us make memories x

  • Lovely place to stay. Very relaxing and comfy bed. Friendly hosts who were easy to deal with.

    Flick2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay in Roy and Kim's Shepherd's Hut despite the wet and windy weather during our time in Lulworth. In fact the warm and cosy hut (fantastic heater in there!) was just what we needed after a long day on the hills, and it couldn't have been better designed to accommodate all our needs. We even decided to brave a January barbecue for which Roy and Kim were kind enough to set up a fire for us and provide us with all the cooking essentials. Both bathroom and hut were spotless, with plenty of hot water in the shower and a tea station in the hut which really was the icing on the cake. Plus Kim was always on hand to offer advice for local walks and attractions. Thanks so much Kim and Roy - we loved meeting you and will be back soon!

    Izzy2018-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed our stay at Roy's Retreat. A great find, walking distance to Lulworth Cove (good fish and chips here at Finleys!) and such a lovely cosy hut. Kim and Roy were both very friendly and helpful and were able to accommodate us at short notice. Would definitely stay here again.

Sunset Cottage was built 300 years ago out of Portland Stone and was a fisherman's cottage . Although refurbished to a high standard all original features still remain. Fantastic sea views of Chesil Beach.
Sunset cottage is very cosy with all its original features. Portland stone walls and wooden beams and floors. Wonderful views of Chesil Beach and Jurassic Coast and just a few metres walk from the shingle beach. Cottage is over three floors .
Portland is an island but is connected by a road to Weymouth. The landscape is rugged with beautiful views . Suitable for those who love the outdoors.
  • My parents, boyfriend and I felt at home right away in Helen's cosy cottage - having a welcome bottle of Cava to enjoy in the garden helped! Such a lovely surprise! Check-in was a breeze, as Helen communicated everything very clearly, and well in advance of our arrival. The cottage itself is easy to find, and well connected to the rest of Portand, as well as Weymouth, via bus (the stop is right outside). There are some lovely pubs and cafes nearby, and Helen prepared a really helpful information pack which included absolutely everything we needed to know about the cottage and Portland. We spent the week going on long walks and eating seafood - perfection! My favourite thing about the cottage was the beautiful garden that gets the sun throughout the day, and boasts an amazing sea view. The bed in the double room was incredibly comfortable, too, and the free-standing bath is divine. I would wholeheartedly recommend Helen's cottage if you'd like a cosy retreat in a picturesque location, with a kind and welcoming host.

    Sally2017-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful stay at the cottage, we arrived late on day one to find a lovely hamper awaiting us and a picture perfect cottage, could not have asked for a better start to our christmas in Dorset. The cottage is beautiful, excellent facilities and immaculate, it's location was superb, with the beautiful coat on our doorstep and close to the local shops and amenities, particularly the local pub. I've been delighted with the whole experience of booking this trip, prompt, efficient and helpful messages from Helen before our stay began, a delightful cottage exactly as portrayed (if not better) when we arrived and a perfect location for our trip away. What a lovely trip we had.

    Stuart2015-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful cottage with wide open views across Chesil Cove. It's well equipped for self catering. The bath is fabulous and the bed is very comfortable. We also loved the walk around Portland. A wonderful stay. Thanks Helen

    Virginia2015-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Helen is a wonderful host, she made sure everything was perfect from fresh flowers chocolates wine together with a selection of breakfast items in the fridge. If you a looking for a unique place to stay sunset cottage will definitely fit the bill. The cottage overlooks the sea where you can experience wonderful sunsets. Thank you helen for making our stay memorable.

    Irene2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful week at the end of August 2017 at this beautiful stone cottage just a few minutes walk from Chesil Beach. The house is immaculate and very well finished. The view from the garden is stunning, parking was not a problem and all the appliances were in good working order. Helen, our host, popped over to check we were settling in OK on our 2nd day and made us feel very welcome. There was lots to do in the area for our family of 4, so much so that we could easily have fill a 2nd week. I would highly recommend this property.

    Ian2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a delightful stay at Helen's Sunset Cottage. Helen was extremely prompt with her response to our initial inquiry, and maintained the perfect amount of communication. Her directions to the cottage were clear and complete, including suggestions of where to park to unload, and providing parking permit for a nearby car park. It is for good reason that the cottage was awarded 4 stars and enjoyed a Gold Award by Enjoy England. Helen had put in many personal touches that makes this more than your usual AirBnB stay. Apart from the welcome chocolate sweets and wine, there was also ham, eggs, tomatoes, and bread for a breakfast. Our five year old enjoyed the stuffed toys on the top floor with the twin beds. We used the cottage as a base to explore the Jurassic Coast. Helen had provided a folder chock full of information about places to visit in Portland, as well as recommendations for places to eat on the island as well as in Weymouth. We spent the first day walking around the Portland Bill and visiting the Tout Quarry Sculpture Garden, and the next day in West Lulworth visiting Durdle Door (30 minutes' drive away). The place was perfect for us, cosy and warm, with a generous bathroom. The bedroom and bathroom are even better than they look in the photographs: there is a shower (not pictured) in the bathroom, and there is more light and the walls and sheets are white in the bedroom. The stairs may be a little steep for people with bad knees. The cottage is halfway up the hill, and a short walk uphill to the main street in town where there is a small Co-op where we could buy additional supplies. We loved the place, and would not hesitate to come back to it again when visiting the area.

    Elaine2015-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was absolutely wonderful. Helen is a delight and has thought of everything for her guests. Very relaxing and like a home from home. Will go again.

    Marcus2016-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable and stylish cottage. Wonderful walks to Chesil beach (along the road) and a short drive to fantastic views on road to Easton and wonderful wildlife at Portland Bill. We saw a pod of Dolphins off shore. Great for bird spotting. Good food in local pubs and restaurants. Shame about the noisy High Street but lovely sitting in back garden enjoying the sea views.

  • Brilliant place for a group of adults

    Sarah2018-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • We both had a amazing time and felt it was almost our own secluded area in the park. Keith and Serena were both extremely helpful if we needed anything and would definitely come back again in future!

  • Very good lodge, location and facilities

    Adam2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely lodge ! Well equipped for anything you need, lovely location only a 40 minute walk to nearest town or 5 minute drive, if you want to just get away from everyday life and just do nothing for a few days but sleep eat and get in the hot tub, this is the best place for you ! So beautiful, would love to see what it's like in the summer !

    Jade2017-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • the log cabin was amazing , the surrounding area was brilliant and lovely for walks . Richard was very friendly and answered any questions i needed to know . Even though it was July there was still wood already chopped if we wanted a fire in the wood burner so that was a nice touch . Would of been good if there was wi fi and expected milk tea bags and coffee to be there , apart from that everything was perfect .

  • Amazing lodge, with everything you could possibly need. Very private and lovely surroundings. Would highly recommend!

Perfect View Apartment is in the centre of Weymouth. The apartment has a panoramic view of the golden beach. Within a few minutes walk to the train station and bus stops. This comfortable space has recently been refurbished and comprises of a living room and en-suite bedroom. Unfortunately at the moment there is no cooking facilities. Please note the apartment is on the second floor of the building. Guests with limited walking ability will potentially struggle with the stairs.
  • John's apartment has a great view of Weymouth Beach. It's right above the lovely "cafe good life" which serves delicious breakfast and tea until 5pm, after that, the house is very quiet and although directly on the esplanade we could sleep with open window and heard just the sea coming in and out. The flat is super-central and Joh very helpful with tips for parking or eating out. A Marks&Spencer is next door. We stayed with our kids (6, 9) who loved to have so much space and to be close to the carousel and other fun stuff. We also enjoyed walks on the beach. Would definitely like to go back!

  • Amazing view from the apartment and great location

    Annie2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay , made to feel very welcomed. John was very helpful giving us information as to where to park and how to find the key. As we stayed in December it was very cold but was very pleasant to see that the heaters had been switched on before we had arrived.

    Andrew2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Its no exaggeration when the view from this gorgeous place is described as the best in Weymouth. Every time we sat by the bay window and gazed at the 180 panoramic view of the beach and the seafront, it WOWed us. Waking up to this every morning was bliss. John. the host, was very friendly and helpful and the location is just right for the harbour, station, restaurants, shops and beach. Wonderful stay and hope to return again as soon as possible.

    Cheryl2018-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • John was very helpful as a host. He even helped us carry our luggages and other stuff. He would allow you to treat the place as your own. The only downside is that the accomodation is on the 3rd floor which will make it difficult if you have lots of stuff as there is no lift. But as i said earlier John was very helpful and he carry most of our stuff upstairs. Very spacious place and clean. There is no kitchen but there are lots of takeaways nearby. And the window view was amazing as it is facing the beach. My 8 year old son said it was like a perfect paradise. Would recommend this place if you are visiting Weymouth. Again thanks so much John!

    Maureen2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great little apartment. Lovely view out to sea in the morning. Everything you need in two rooms. Host was very helpful.

    Beth2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • The place is really nice and central with beautiful sea view. John was really nice, friendly and let us leave our suitcase afterwards. However, John phone was not charged on the day we arrived so we couldn't reach him for checking in. Overall the place is lovely, but communication for checking in arrangements could be improved.

    Anh2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at Johns. The location is fantastic, the views from the flat are amazing and the bed is very comfortable. We booked the flat for 4 people (as this was what was advertised) in the knowledge that there would be 1 bed and 1 sofa bed. However we were unaware that the only bathroom is an ensuite off the main bedroom. In theory this is not the end of the world but it is just a little bit awkward and too close for comfort. So much so that two of our party booked another B&B for their stay. It would be helpful for this to be highlighted before booking. The flat is perfect for 2, but not for 4 adults. Check in - John was good at communicating but couldn’t meet us to check in. This wasn’t a problem however some better instructions on which flat it was, would have been appreciated. Overall I would stay here again, but only as a couple.

  • Had such a lovely time, beautiful surroundings, supplied more than we expected, was lovely to be left to our own devices, but to know they were just a call away for anything needed

  • The Glamping accomodation is very well thought out and provides a quiet, rural experience for those seeking a break from city life. Accomodation is immaculately clean and comfortable. Be aware that there is a 30 metre distance to the bathroom and you will need to use the torch that is provided.

    Geoff2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Was ein Abenteuer! Das Kochen im Freien mach riesigen Spaß, dazu noch die Natur ringsherum.. sehr cool.

    Andrea2015-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The pod was lovely as were it's surroundings. Alan was friendly and lenient (family problems kept us from arriving when we said we would! All in all great experience! Would come again.

  • The location is peaceful and very much out of the way.. But close enough to Wool to stock up on the essentials. It was a short drive to Lulworth Cove and the Stair Hole. Took the opportunity to do Sea kayaking, that was fabulous. All in all a great podding experience.

    Barbara2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful relaxing retreat. Loved glamping in the pod and exploring the local area. We will be back!

Our cosy Studio for 2 nestles on the edge of woodland, yet only 5 mins away from Shaftesbury in Dorset. Wake up to bird song, go for long walks right from the door step, explore many nearby attractions, enjoy a meal or drink on the private terrace.
This self contained, modern & comfortable studio annex as its own entrance with private terrace and outdoor space. The property sits in an area of outstanding natural beauty, nestled on the hillside on the edge of ancient woodland. The property is set in 1 acre of wildlife gardens in a quiet hamlet just 5 minutes drive from the historic hill town of Shaftesbury on the border between Dorset and Wiltshire. We are located about 1.5miles outside Shaftesbury in a small hamlet on the edge of the woods. The Studio has a very comfortable King size bed (5 feet wide and 6 feet 6 inches long – 150 x 198 cm), well equipped kitchenette, sitting & dining area, a quite small shower room with basin and toilet, and a walk-in wardrobe/storage. Ideal for walking holidays and short breaks. The studio is well located if you want to visit the End of the Road Festival or Larmer Tree Festival. The kitchenette is well equipped, including full size fridge with freezer compartment, oven with grill, 2 plate induction hob, kettle, toaster and extractor fan. The Studio is ideal for individual travellers, close friends or couples (we welcome all couples!). We're also happy to accommodate parents with babies, but you will need to bring your own cot. Please note that children need to be supervised in the garden! There is a 42" TV with Freesat and DVD player, free Wifi Internet connection (although this can sometimes be slow or disrupted because of our rural location - we can therefore not guarantee the internet service) and stereo speakers for plugging in your iPod or MP3 Player. A selections of DVDs, games and books are available. Outside is a picnic table and we are happy to provide a BBQ at request (please purchase your own BBQ coal). You can view the many different birds on the bird feeders, stroll around the wild gardens or sit in one of several quiet benches around the garden. Please note that we basically live in the woods, so there is no view from the Studio terrace. However, guests are welcome to stroll to the end of the garden and enjoy some views from the bench. There is a well stocked village store only 2 miles away in the village of Ludwell, a small grocery store at the petrol station 1 mile away. In Shaftesbury you will find a large Tesco superstore and a lovely town centre with interesting shops and cafés including some very nice food shops. There's a market on Thursday mornings. Shaftesbury is famous for its Gold Hill (from the Hovis Bread ad), it's Abbey, historic buildings and the amazing views across the Blackmore Vale. Salisbury is only 35mins drive to the east and Bath an hour north. An hours drive will also get you to some of the most stunning beaches of the Jurrasic Coast. We have created our house and the Studio as environmentally friendly as possible. We have solar panels to help heat the water and Solar PV to generate electricity. Rainwater is collected and feeds the toilets in the house. We use environmentally friendly cleaning materials and recycle and compost. The Studio is extremely well insulated and has central heating. Please note: both the central heating and hot water are heated by an air source heat pump. Tis is a very efficient and low energy system but works on low temperatures. Therefore please wait 10 minutes between showers, as there may otherwise not be enough hot water available. Similarly the central heating does work on low heat, therefore please don't expect the radiators to be piping hot. The temperature in the Studio should always be comfortable. If not, please let us know as the settings may need adjusting. What makes our place unique is the location. You will be right at the edge of the woods. Deer and badgers sometimes visit the garden and we have an abundance of different birds including Woodpeckers, Long Tail Tits, Jays, Song Thrushes and Bull Finches. You will find some wonderful walks (short and long) right on your doorstep. Yet we are only a 5 minute drive from Shaftesbury, Dorset which has an good selections of independent shops & cafés and a large Tesco. You can park free in Tesco carpark for 3 hours and walk into town from there. The Jurassic Coast (Poole, Studland, Weymouth) or Bath are within an hours drive. We run a non-smoking property, but you are welcome to smoke outside. Just leave your cigarette butts in the receptacle provided outside your entry door. We have a dog ourselves, so know how difficult it is to find accommodation that allows dogs. As the Studio is only a one-room accommodation, it is not suitable for large dogs. But if you do want to bring a small dog, please ask and we will consider it. A surcharge of £5 per night for bring a dog applies. We also have a cat, Misty. She's basically an outdoor cat, but she likes to manipulate guests to let her into the Studio. You should know this if you're allergic to cats, as we cannot guarantee that the Studio doesn't contain allergens. Also if you do not want her in your room, just chuck her out and keep the windows open only a small gap at night, as otherwise you might receive an unwanted visitor.
My favourite thing about living here is that one can go on walks from 30 minutes to 3 hours through the most glorious country side and woodlands right from our door step. Guests always comment on how well they sleep here because it is so quite and how they like being woken up by bird song. You really are in the midst of nature, yet only a 5 minute drive away from Shaftesbury on the Dorset/Wiltshire border. You can walk into town if you wish. It will take you approximately 40-45 minutes through fields and woodland. Salisbury is a 40 mins and day-trips can be taken to Bath, Stourhead, Poole, Weymouth and the Jurassic Coast.
  • This was an amazing place to stay! We loved it. Gabriela made us feel very welcome. It is clean and has a nice "vibe", perfect for a relaxing few days. In a secluded spot outside of Shaftesbury, you can feel cut off from the world without actually being far from convenient towns and beautiful natural spots like the coast. I would recommend it to all travellers.

  • Myself and my girlfriend spent 2 nights in the eco lodge and found the place to be so peaceful and relaxing. We came to dorset to visit family and decided this was a nice alternative to staying in a hotel. I'm very pleased we did as the to eco lodge was like home away from home. It was very spacious, clean, warm and inviting. Our host also left a very nice welcome pack filled with local produce which came in very useful. We will certainly be staying again

  • Absolutely lovely stay at Gabriela's place! Perfect location for our lovely weekend away. Amazingly helpful with arranging a bottle of prosecco for our stay to celebrate a birthday and adapting check in time. Super friendly and helpful and the place was clean and cosy! Thank you so much. Highly recommend!

  • This is a lovely quiet place to stay. The nicest thing is the morning wildlife and silence at night, I would recommend to anyone who wants to escape.

  • Fell completely head over heels with this beautiful space, it was everything we had hoped for and more. Peaceful, comfortable and incredibly scenic. Beautiful outside space and situated on the edge of some gorgeous woods (a 10 minute walk away from a cosy pub also!) Many many thanks to Gabriela for a glorious weekend! and i am so happy i had the opportunity to meet William the pug, i left a little bit in love.

  • Gabrielas little hideaway was the perfect break for us frazzled Londoners! The studio was simple, clean and comfortable with lovely organic toiletries, yummy local produce breakfast basket and to my delight my favourite tea bags which I can't usually get hold of on holiday! Aside from the lovely walks around the area and day trip proximity to Stonehenge, Cerne Abbas Giant and Gold Hill there was also all mod cons to help us zone out and watch movies in the evening. Also thoroughly recommend Grosvenor Arms in Shaftesbury for a good, interesting evening meal (we're massive foodies!). We also loved the friendly cat - we always miss our two torties when we're away so was nice when he came to visit!

    Alicia2014-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place was wonderful. The studio was clean and modern, but also felt homey. The location was lovely and secluded yet still convenient to town. Are only regret is that we didn't stay an additional night.

  • Convenient for Portland Bill and the south west coast path. Good size room and comfy bed but not as clean as it should have been.

  • We very much enjoyed our stay with Alison at Ocean Studio Apartments. The view from the building of Portland Bill a few hundred metres away was spectacular. Great location.

  • The heating was put on for our arrival, which was quite late, so it was was nice and cosy. A great base for the island and near Portland Bill. It's a travel lodge experience with added bonus of toaster, microwave and fridge.

  • Location is amazing. 5min stroll from front door to amazing cliff edge and view.

    Kevin2017-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was a very last-minute booking (less than 24hrs) due to a family matter. Alison got back to us quickly with confirmation, details etc. and alerted us to the possibility of a bit of noise from school children in the mornings. This was not an issue for us. Overall, considering the price etc, it was a successful stay, as good as a Travelodge with a better price.

    Barry2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had a very pleasant stay and found the room comfortable enough for our needs, massive comfy bed and very powerful shower. Early morning was rather bright as the room faces east, but nice to have mostly sunny weather for our stay! We certainly needed the curtains. This was a good base to explore the Island and I think we saw most of it over 5 days, plus travelling further afield around the Dorset area. We met Alison during our stay and she was very helpful, otherwise she left us to enjoy our stay, which we very much did, thanks.

    Trevor2016-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Though a little tricky to find, the apartment was very clean and provided bathroom products as well as cutlery and crockery. Situated close to the coast with the sea in view from the window, and just a short walk from Portland Bill lighthouse, it is a convenient location for exploring the Isle. I saw some stunning sunrises!

    Zarrin2017-09-24T00:00:00Z

Tranquil, s/c compact garden studio with lovely views in the hamlet of Ryall. Adjacent to owners' eco-house & midway between Lyme Regis & West Bay, it is ideally situated for the magnificent walks & extensive plant/wildlife on the doorstep. Footpaths to Golden Cap, beach, Charmouth, & Marshwood Vale. Local village, Whitchurch Canonicorum, has its own saint & holy well. Bustling Bridport, & West Bay’s cliffs & restaurants are a short journey. Great local pub food. Good farm shop at end of rd.
The Walkers Retreat is a light, bright, compact (5X3m) studio space, detached and adjacent to our ecohouse and offering beautiful views through the east/west light on the rolling green hills of the Marshwood Vale. Thoughtfully designed and newly furnished, it has everything to make it a perfect short stay for one or two people who are keen to explore the attractions of this wonderful part of Dorset. It has a kitchenette with hob, microwave and silent fridge, sink, cutlery and pans. We provide tea and coffee and basic ingredients for breakfast. The living area has a small table and 2 comfy chairs which fold away to maximize use of space. There is a radiator, a small two person sofa and a TV and wifi. There is a separate shower room with shower, toilet and heated towel rail. Towards the back of the space there is a comfortable full size double wooden frame bed with new pocket sprung mattress and cotton linen. Please note the bed is on a solid raised area and head height when standing is limited here.
You can take paths North, South, East or West out of your door and enjoy some wonderful scenery each way. On a clear day, start by going up the (Hardown) hill behind - a ten minute stroll through an SSI heathland to enjoy the panoramic views to Portland, Golden cap, Lyme Regis and beyond. Up here, swathes of bluebells in Spring will be followed by purple sheets of Ling and Bell heathers during the Summer and clumps of giant parasol mushrooms in the Autumn. Coming down the other side of the hill, cross over to 200 acres of National Trust land with its scenic clifftop views and myriad of paths and fields leading to the Golden Cap, past St Wites Well. Or go the other way to the fossil beach and museum at Charmouth, When the tide is out you can walk on to Lyme Regis, the cobb and the attractions and quirky shops of the old town. Alternatively, walk down Butt Lane alongside fields overlooking the sea to reach the ancient smugglers route along Hells Lane (described in Julia Bradburys book on Britains best walks). An atmospheric stroll along the narrowest of lanes with gnarled tree roots often at head height past etchings in the sandstone rock on each side, then finally out the other end in to the “normal world” through to the small town of Chideock. You can then walk further on to Seatown where there is an excellent pub with great food by the beach. Returning to Chideock you can catch the bus a couple of miles on to the historic rope-making town Bridport with its eclectic mix of shops and people and a regular vintage market. Stop by cafe (Soulshine) before continuing to West Bay (approximately a mile round the corner) with its famous cliffs (the setting for Broadchurch), smart cafe/gallery, Sladers yard and small antique market. There are several good restaurants here and also a fantastic fishmonger with takeaway packs of fresh shellfish. You can get the bus back to the end of our lane hourly and a cab if in the evening (see below). Walking in a different direction yet again, inland, there is a lovely walk via our local village Whitchurch canonicorum taking in the Church of St Candida/St Wite) known as the Cathedral of the Vale, parts of which date back to 12th Century. Interred within for over 700 years is the Shrine of St Wite; the only other church in Britain with a similar shrine is Westminster Abbey. From this, you can walk (or cycle/drive) to Wootten Fitzpaine with some beautiful wildflower meadows where rarities such as Corky fruited water dropwort can be spotted along with more common drifts of wild narcissus, red clover, yellow rattle and various spotted orchids. Beyond this, Charmouth Forest has huge wooded areas of bluebells in Spring and makes a lovely walk through beech trees flanked in places by masses of Asplenium scolodenrium ferns. Venturing further afield, Trinity Hill, home of Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall and nearby Trill Farm; the latter set in magnificent wildflower meadows provide further attractions at specific times of the year. For horse-lovers, riding can be arranged very locally over the national trust land overlooking the sea. On a rainy day, the small museum at Lyme intriguingly set out around a spiral staircase provides a fascinating distraction. Continue on to the many quirky shops and fossil centre, perhaps taking coffee at the Giants and Idols coffee shop in Silver St or a light lunch at cafe Aroma set down below. Later on, the Harbour Inn near the Cobb is a good place to stop for an evening meal. After a day exploring, you can return to see hawks and buzzards priming the fields, horseshoe bats rising and dipping across the hill and the odd deer flitting across the lane. At nighttime, Owls and badgers are frequent visitors, (there is a badger trail at the foot of our garden), Nightjars and Glow worms can sometimes be seen round the corner on and around Hardown Hill in July (this makes a wonderful moonlit walk less than 10 minutes away). Eat out at several excellent nearby pubs (The Anchor Inn in Seatown is consistently good and reasonably priced) or The Olive Tree in Bridport is very popular; for a special occasion, The Station Kitchen in West Bay mostly set within a railway carriage is very good. Axminster also offers the popular River Cottage Canteen and a good pizza place (The Pisani). Alternatively, eat in with fresh produce from the award winning farm shop, at the end of our road!
  • Stunning view out of the window. Everything clean, neat and well kept. Lovely welcome with homemade bread and jams available. All that we needed for a short stay. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

  • Walkers Retreat, as made clear in the listing, is small but perfectly adequate and comfortable for a couple. The location is “Rural Great Britain”, at it’s best. An ideal base for exploring the surrounding area on foot, bike or by car with lots of local knowledge and help, if required, from an excellent host.

    Peter2018-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very enjoyable week at the Walkers' Retreat. It's very well thought out and makes good use of the limited space. The views are superb and the location is very quiet and peaceful. You can walk out in a different direction every day! Lucy was very welcoming and full of information about the surrounding area. Highly recommended.

  • The Walkers Retreat was just what we needed for a weekend away from busy London. The studio is small but perfect for two people for a short stay. The place was clean and cozy. Breakfast essentials were provided including fresh eggs from Lucy’s chickens, coffee and bread. There were also a lot of helpful guides with recommendations for activities in the area. Lucy was also always available and responded quickly to all our messages. Great place and hospitality!

A new log cabin built autumn 2015 in its own grounds and completely private, overlooking heathland where horses and cattle roam freely 6 months of the year. It's next to farmland with a fishing lake nearby. Great for walks and enjoying the outdoors.
The log cabin is spacious, cosy and comfortable. The sofa in the lounge also converts to a double bed , so up to 6 people can to stay. The cabin sits in an exclusive paddock of one acre surrounded by field, woods and heathland. It is a haven for wildlife. Guests can enjoy the grounds where there is a trampoline and can also enjoy cooking and eating outdoors. There is also a coarse fishing lake in the adjacent farm.
It's location makes the cabin very unique. Its a rural retreat. No neighbours (except the cows, horses, deer and squirrels!) Great for wild life and being close to nature. Completely secluded with a beautiful view of the grounds. A great escape from the city! The Cross Keys pub, which is within walking distance, offers good food. There is also a good selection of country pubs nearby. There are excellent restaurants, pubs in the towns previously mentioned, as well as theatres and nightlife. We have wonderful beaches in Bournemouth and Poole. Close by, we have Potterns Park in Verwood and Moors Valley Country Park. Great for outdoor activities with the family and friends.
  • Beautiful lodge, very peaceful and a wonderful experience.

  • We had a wonderful week in the log cabin. We loved the peacefulness; sitting outside each evening with the fairy lights lit and just the sound of wildlife for company (nightjars, owls, horses) was blissful. Our son loved the large garden and we all enjoyed exploring the beautiful surroundings. Len and Luisa were so kind and helpful. We didn't want to leave. Highly recommended!

    Nicola2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our one night at Luisas log cabin. Arrived in torrential rain and a howling gale but cabin was lovely and cosy, superbly equipped with all you could think of including hot water bottles! Very remote position but v peaceful and secluded. Would highly recommend and hope to come back when the weather is better so can enjoy the lovely outdoor space too!

  • My group really enjoyed our stay at this log cabin. We stayed the day before and after a wedding, and it was an ideal location for us, at a great price. It was well kept and maintained, with a lovely welcome from the host. The little extras that were around including food for breakfast (bread, eggs, cereal) was brilliant, as where the facilities of the cabin. I would strongly recomend this log cabin as a stay for others in the future.

    Jennifer2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Luisa met us on arrival and made our stay feel so special with little touches :) she showed us all around and had provided us with everything we needed for our stay.

    Sophie2016-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful location - properly dark and quiet at night. The cabin has everything you could need and we had a really lovely stay. Making plans to come again!

    Vicki2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Luisa and Len's cabin. The cabin was immaculate and very cosy. The location is excellent to access the surrounding area for walks and National Trust. We felt like we were in the middle of the countryside surrounded by nature. But still accessible to everywhere. Our 20 month old daughter was fascinated by the chickens. We hope to visit again someday as it was a great weekend.

  • The Cottage is cosy, well equipped and incredibly peaceful. Simon and Doey were perfect hosts. We are already planning our return!

    Luke2015-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was absolutely lovey and indeed very cosy. There were additional little touches that added to the 'home from home' feel. The location is very peaceful which suited us perfectly, others may wish to be aware that there are no local amenities within walking distance. A perfect setting and cottage for a quiet break for two, particularly if you love walking and country pubs. Simon and Doey popped by to say hello and were there if we needed them. Thanks for a lovely stay.

    Alison2016-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Doey and Simon were both very helpful and friendly. They've set up a lovely spot. The apartment is very comfortable and we had everything we might need provided. Highly recommended.

  • My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights after being in the local area for a wedding. When we arrived Simon showed us round the cottage and explained where everything was including the name's of a couple of great pubs nearby. The cottage itself was accurately described as by the photos and was perfect for the 2 of us and loved the mixture of the old and new style of furniture. The bed was very comfy and had no trouble getting to sleep after a long day of exploring. They provided some croissants, a loaf of bread, milk, orange juice, butter and preserves for breakfast but there's also a big Morrisons supermarket nearby. We had a great stay here and want to come back to use the fire in the Winter. Thanks!!

This is a one bedroom apartment with separate living room and shower room with off-street parking for one car. It is part of a Victorian Villa at the North End of Swanage Bay which has been divided into six. The apartment has great views and is ideally positioned for the beach and restaurants - only 100m from the sandy beach - and a 10 minute stroll along the sea front into town. Unfortunately the lease does not allow pets.
Small but perfectly formed. The Bedroom has a double bed, chest of drawers and hanging rail with hangers. From the window in the bedroom you can see Swanage Bay. The Living Room has a sofa bed and 32" TV - If you require the bedding for the sofa please book as if for three people so that we know to make both beds - there will be a small additional charge for this. One end is dedicated to the Kitchenette with electric oven, hob, sink and fridge. The shower room has an electric shower.
The surrounding walks both to the north, south and even east are fantastic but a little hilly for those who struggle.
  • We had a super two days at Jeff's apartment. Great location with a lovely view of the sea siting up in bed with a cuppa in the morning. We walked the south coast path both days coming back to relax in the cosy apartment which was perfect. Also had a delicious meal out at The Black Swan too. Jeff was great with communication and an earlier check in, thank you.

  • Fantastic little rooftop apartment with great views in a lovely seaside location. Perfect for a couple or single person wanting a seaside break. Apartment was small but has everything you need, and you can pick up anything you need in Swanage. Jeff was great host with plenty of helpful info left in the apartment. We would love to come again

    Oonagh2018-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • The flat was great for the two of us. Getting the key from the key safe was really easy (meaning we could arrive whenever after the check-in time/change our plans etc), there was a helpful pack of info on the flat and surrounding area. We did some basic cooking and that was fine. There was not a microwave (not really the space) but was not an issue as managed to cook what we wanted easily enough. The flat was clean and tidy, the TV and DAB radio were good and TV had built-in DVD player that we used a couple of times in evening. Having own marked parking space was handy (right next to front door), although some skill needed to make sure you avoid the step drop, but once parked up we did not need to move the car as everything in Swanage was within walking distance. Some great views out along Swanage bay and towards the town.

    Michael2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely getaway for a few nights. Perfect size for two people, with everything we needed in the location we wanted. So easy to get in touch with any queries, we can't wait to come back! Thank you Jeff

  • Excellent flat with great location for walking to town in the evening.

    Andrew2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic flat in fantastic location just by Swanage centre (maybe 10 minutes to walk to the town centre) with a cute view of the bay. Clean and comfy with everything you need! Great host and great communication before and during our stay. Local pub just opposite with a fantastic selection of delicious food (and drinks ;)). Will hopefully come back soon.

  • Our host was there to greet to us, explained about the bus and all the facilities. We only stayed one night and the children were disappointed because, they had a great time in the garden. It is a relaxing place to stay and the bus is fab. It was cold in the evening but the wood burner made sure it was toasty and we all slept really well. Thank you for a great stay and we will be telling friends and family about it.

  • We've enjoyed a wonderful few days down at the 'Magic Bus'. It was everything we hoped for, a fabulous location in the grounds of Dorset's oldest home (they have their own forest, it's amazing!), a beautifully converted bus that five of us stayed in very comfortably, and a lovely welcome from our wonderful hosts. We know and love the area, and the bus is perfectly located just between our favourite spots of Corfe Castle and Weymouth. It's very easily reached and set in one of the most beautiful villages we've seen in the county. It's an easy 15 minutes from Weymouth and the postcode takes you right to the beginning of the clearly marked drive. The bus is set about 100m away from the house across a lovely bridge over the stream that runs through the grounds, and you can drive almost all the way to the bus. You have your own private grass area with a table and chairs and it backs onto a large field where we watched deer grazing as we ate our breakfast. It's been beautifully refitted, with wonderful use of recyled materials to create the beds and fixtures (the old bannister rail around the wood burning stove, for example). Something we'd really like to highlight is how incredibly comfortable the beds are - no expense has been spared on fitting these out, with incredibly comfy mattresses, luxury down duvets, we slept wonderfully well. The bus is very cosy in fact it's quite easy to overheat, the wood burning stove is very effective. Properly seasoned, bone dry wood is supplied so starting it was as simple as using a log with the supplied firelighter and a single match. No kindling or effort required! The bus has smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. The solar power for the LED lighting and dual USB charging points and one mains socket worked very well, it's quite a sophisticated system, and even on a cloudy day the battery seemed fully charged the whole time. The bathroom (in the main house) was nicely decorated, easily accessible, and had a very large, and powerful shower with plenty of hot water. There's also a shelf kept free in the fridge in the adjoining room that you can keep food in safely, which is next to the clothes washing facilities. The wonderful play area isn't really done justice in the photos. Our kids spent hours happily climbing and running around. There are huge fishing nets up to the treehouse (platform), a great swingset, summer house to lounge in, tables to eat at, firepit to sit around, and more. It's all very well fenced off from any water and within shouting distance of the bus. So, highly recommended, a wonderful first Airbnb experience. We will be going again next year!

  • Dizzi's communication and guidance before our arrival was fantastic. Although we didn't actually meet Dizzi, everyone we met during our stay was friendly and chatty. The bus and it's setting are truely special! We loved the escapism of it and it was so relaxing. Our small dog loved the set up too and the smells in the next door field :-) If anyone is trying to get away from it all, this is the perfect place for it!!

    Viki2016-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic 2 night stay in the bus. Dizzy and Ralph were helpful, welcoming and friendly and the bus itself cosy and unique. Our 3 year old loved her stay and we all slept very well. Whilst we didn't have time to enjoy it, the garden had lots to offer, with plenty of space to stretch out and have fun or relax. It was also quiet and private - ideal for our short stay.

    Alex2015-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Magic Bus was exactly what we'd hoped it would be - great quirky vintage fun in a beautiful location! The beds were really comfortable. The children loved the bunk beds (the 5yo was particularly delighted that the 10yo couldn't fit in the top bunk (ceiling is very low)) and both of them slept really well in lovely fluffy fresh bed linen. The double bed area was much more generous than we expected; plenty of room, tucked in at the end of the bus. The log-burning stove kept the place lovely and warm and, with the good supply of candles (there is solar power lighting as well), made it a very cosy place to hunker down on a chilly evening. Our host, Dizzi (Rebecca), was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The children needed little encouragement to explore the lovely adventure garden (several times). We didn't cook on this first visit, but everything was there that we needed if we'd wanted to. Tea and really lovely coffee was provided. Note that the bathroom is quite a walk from the bus, but the path is very clear and a good torch is provided. When we were there, there were also two other sets of guests in the grounds who shared the bathroom. We arrived on a Sunday forgetting about Sunday hours. Next time we would definitely avail ourselves of the offer of provisions from the nearby farm shop that Dizzi highlights in the main details. All in all, we loved it and will definitely go back. Lots of fun.

  • We've just had a wonderful stay on the Magic Bus. We were given all the information we needed about how everything on the bus worked, and were given a tour of the grounds including the large play area which is every child's dream space. We were made to feel really welcome and relaxed. The bus was comfortable, full of quirky detail and plenty of board games to keep all ages entertained in the evenings. The kitchen was well equipped for a small space and store cupboard with all the essentials like tea, coffee, pasta, baked beans etc. We loved the new shower which was lovely and hot even on a chilly spring evening. We will definitely be back!

    Gemma2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Idyllic place to stay; for me this was sent perfect Airbnb experience. The bus itself is just fab, beautifully converted & really cosy with so much thought put into each aspect. My kids loved the communal gardens & we all enjoyed the great company. Can't wait to visit again.

A friendly welcome into our warm and cosy log cabin set in the cherry orchard along with the use of our spa with the big Jacuzzi and Sauna. The Cabin is set in a lovely cherry orchard in a coastal village on a quiet and historic lane with views of the cliffs. We have had literally hundreds of happy guests who all enjoy the peace and tranquility of our cherry orchard. It is set within the village and so very near great pub/restaurants and shop. It really is a cabin in the orchard!
Enjoy the highly insulated and toasty warm cabin in winter, or lie in the Orchard under the trees. The cabin is 7m x 4m, and you can Barbecue, and visit the Beach and experience the fine local pubs that serve great food and ale. There are 3 pubs within walking distance! Explore the Majestic Cliffs of the Jurassic coast you may even encounter a fossil if you're lucky. Discover BRIDPORT known as “foodie heaven” tasting lots of local cuisine, visit picturesque Lyme Regis and enjoy getting blown off the famous cob. Excellent opportunities for outdoor sports with ample walking, running and cycling trails. Note you are really close to nature i.e. the odd bird and spider make their presence felt as it really is a log cabin in an orchard :-)
The famous Jurassic Coast of Dorset has been awarded World Heritage Site status. The Dorset and East Devon coastline where countless fossils have been found is a remarkable place. The coast includes the highest point on the south coast right here at Seatown of Golden Cap and the historic nearby resort of Lyme Regis. If you like food we are situated in a Foodie heaven, and Bridport will hopefully ring a bell… it is home to the original River Cottage where Hugh started his quest of local, home grown and foraged stuff. Love food, love West Dorset! You'll find fantastic produce grown in the area and that chefs did not wait for celebrities to tell them to cook local. Take the Riverside two-course meal from £16.50 in West Bay, Bridport's harbour. Bang in the middle of this unpretentious fishing harbour, it looks like a large wooden hut sitting on the river Brit. Fish is the speciality, of course, straight from Lyme Bay. Also the Anchor Pub in Burton, for great food, and the Three Horseshoes... Another good place to enjoy fresh seafood is the Hive Beach Café in Burton Bradstock also fantastic. These guys are committed to local. There's something tasty for all purses.
  • Very welcoming. Very lovely place. Really enjoyed the hot tub and my girlfriend really enjoyed the massage!

  • Thank you so much Will and Tanya, we had a lovely weekend. You guys were perfect and a pleasure to meet. Hopefully we weren't too noisy for you. The cabin was perfect for the 3 of us, exactly what we needed with the coast and shopping being so close. The hot tub and sauna was just amazing, a real treat. Thank you so much for everything xxx

    Julie2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed two nights here and it was very lovely, will and Tanya were excellent friendly hosts who were there if we needed but left us to it. We had a beautiful walk over golden cap to charmouth and got the bus back, to a well deserved sauna which was very good.

  • A place with a difference. Great communication, wonderfully accommodating. Hot tub is a luxury but the weather was too hot for us to make the most of it. Same can't be said for the bbq though! Highly recommended and if you're like us and wanted to escape to the Jurassic coast with the dog for some fossil hunting and pleasant walks and pubs, then this is ideal!

Up the stairs to a spacious bedroom, nicely decorated and in good order, bathroom next door clean and as you would expect and a nice kitchen well stocked. Great I thought just what i wanted. Help yourself anytime to drinks *tea and coffee( and breakfast too. A key to get in. Perfect. This is a great place to stay I enjoyed it. Thanks for making it a bit like home and so easy. • I can not put into words, how much I enjoyed my stay with Hayley and her LOVELY mummy! The location is PERFECT!! Amazing transport all around the area and so frequent to. Cleanliness is a huge thing to me, ( I have severe dust allergy) but can I take a moment and say WOW. The bathroom was sparkling, the kitchen and my room was immaculate.. it felt like staying in my own house. Alot of thought and effort has gone into the service that they provide! Although I didnt see Hayley much, I had several conversions with her mum. This woman is just AMAZING, she is one of the most kind hearted people I have ever met, she went above and beyond to assist me in so many things! 10/10 for everything from the room, to the hospitality, to the extras they provide during breakfast. ( The beds are so COMFY!!- I Slept like a baby) I will 100% be back!!!!!!!

  • Stuart and Ali were very responsive when we contacted them about our arrival time. The ground floor apartment was very clean and welcoming, a bonus was a loaf of bread and a pint of milk! It had all the facilities we required for our family of 3. The car space is located directly in front of the apartment door so it was super quick to get all our belongings in. Boscombe beach and pier is only a 5min walk away with good places to eat and drink. We will definitely recommend to our friends and family if they are visiting the Bournemouth area.

  • Stuart's flat is a perfect base for exploring Bournemouth and the surrounding area. Despite being near to the busy shopping area of Boscombe and the seafront and being part of a pretty large block of apartments, it was very quiet. The flat itself was clean and comfortable and came with all necessary supplies and amenities, including an allocated parking space round the back of the building. The flat also has its own direct entrance, right next to the parking space. Stuart also met us in person to give us the keys and show us around, despite us not being able to confirm exactly when we'd be arriving till very close to the time. Highly recommended.

  • Centrally located accommodation. Not far away from the cute beach as well as the pedestrian area with many shops. The accommodation was perfect for us as a Family (2 adults+2children). When we had some questions Stuart did not hesitate and directly came over in person to help us. In total it really was a nice and relaxed stay.

  • Lovely stylish flat in a great location. Host was very helpful. Thank you Stuart & Faith.

    Gertrud2017-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, comfortable flat hosted by a very attentive and supportive couple. The flat is more spacious than it appears in photos. Beds are comfortable and generally speaking it has everything needed for holidays. Very considerate touch of milk and bread available upon arrival. Great location, just a few minutes' walk from beach, shops and bus stop. I would definitely book it again.

    Paola2018-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so close to the beach it was perfect for our family and well equipped with a cot and high chair

  • Really nice apartment exactly as described and true to photos. Ali met us on arrival and was really nice and very helpful. She recommended the pub over the road for lunch - Urban Reef - and it was fab and we went back the following evening. A perfect couple of days away by the sea and then on to Peppa Pig World!

Our home is a 300 year old farmhouse (circa 1737) with flagstone floors and an inglenook fireplace. You’ll love it because of the peace and beauty of your surroundings! Four miles from Bridport and the Jurassic Coast, with Dorchester 12 miles away. No TV's, great social space with open fire, half size snooker/pool table, dart board and board games, books, WIFI. The house is suitable for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), and furry friends (dogs).
Surrounded by Iron Age Hill forts, not far from the amazing Jurassic Coast, walking, cycling, paddle-boarding, rib rides, mackerel fishing, fossil hunting, and many artistic events all within easy reach and lots more besides.
Despite being close to the main artery of Dorset - the A35 we are in an isolated position with extensive views of the valley and coastline albeit in the distance. Dairy farming is the local industry although the fields around us are cultivated cows are never far away.
  • A lovely house in a spectacular location. Julie and Mark made me very welcome and provided everything that I could possibly need. I hope to become a frequent visitor.

    Clare2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Well, what can I say? Julie and Mark are probably the most genuine and accommodating people I have had the pleasure to stay with. I was treated like part of the family the moment I walked in the door, had a wonderfully comfortable bed, a room with an incredible view of the Dorset hills and free use of the kitchen to organise and cook my food. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for accommodation in the area. Thank you both ❤️

  • Julie and Mark are very friendly, provided us with great info, and we really enjoyed our stay. We were travelling from place to place for 2 weeks and stayed in many Airbnb’s, and they have been the best host so far.;) Their dogs are lovely too!

    Toh2018-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Large room in private house, with shared use of kitchen/bathroom facilities. Welcoming hosts and an ideal location for visiting the Dorset coast. A good stay for a good price.

  • Julie and Mark we're amazing hosts and went above and beyond for us while we we're staying. The house was lovely and homely with the best views ever! We would definitely stay again if we we're visiting the area.

  • Absolutely great little place - the hot tub was so lovely!! Anyone looking for a rural retreat, this is the perfect spot! Gill & Simon are fabulous hosts, extremely friendly and approachable for anything you might need, however they also appreciate that you want alone time. We hope to be back!

    Emma2016-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the place, could have stayed there for much much longer!!

    Katt2017-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cider barn is beautifully cosy with lots of privacy. The hot tub was made extra special by a couple of nesting swallows which you get to have a very close look at.

    Matthew2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent retreat which has been carefully and thoughtfully executed. Good for families and couples looking for a quiet break. Good value for money. The pool, croquet, sauna, jacuzzi and private garden and BBQ all excellent with some lovely personal touches thrown in. Well done!

    Rosie2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic stay at Gill's place, the pool was great and of course having the hot tub was perfect for the evenings.

    Tom2018-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was comfortable and clean with lovely cake on arrival and the enclosed garden was great for our dog. There are plenty of interesting places to visit nearby. The listing needs to make clear the "Cider Barn" shares the space with other large holiday houses and the shared pool, although lovely, is right next to the the cottage garden. This combined with being next to a busy A road doesn't make it a "rural retreat".

    Caroline2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location with some lovely pubs near by, the Lime Kiln being my favourite. Easy access to every thing you need near by. Great place to take your dog. However the garden was a little wild and the path is very dark at night so take a touch.

The Milking Parlour is just 3 miles from Sherborne & Yeovil. A great base to the South West. Enjoy the uninterrupted views across the Somerset and Dorset countryside and the peaceful location. 5*Adber Barns (The WoodShed also available) are great rooms for couples, small families, walkers, local pub adventures and business travellers. Fully equipped kitchenette, TV and large walk in rainfall shower. Welcome basket on arrival & friendly hosts. Outdoor seating area and BBQ to use for the summer!
Some fantastic local places to eat, walking distance and staggering distance! Fantastic views, newly built, tastefully decorated and an amazing rainfall showers that’s not the size of a small cupboard! Drop us an email and we’re happy to advise where to go & what to do.
Close to both Sherborne and Yeovil, but tucked away in a quiet hamlet you’d never know how close you are to local towns. Peace and quite guaranteed - possibly the odd cockerel or cow noise - but our guests frequently tell us how well they sleep.
  • Our thanks to Thanks Jo, lovely welcome goodies to help refresh us from our journey. The prepared information was a great asset, we visited some of the sights and used some of the restaurants recommended. The location was amazingly peaceful in what can only be described as "scenery heaven". So many places to visit in just a few days. The quaint accommodation with modern amenities suited our needs fully.

Our lovely double height wood and stone barn directly opposite our house is found at the end of a long private drive in glorious countryside. An incredibly comfortable 5ft bed, woodburning stove and lovely views, a perfect relaxing and cosy retreat. Easy access to lots of interesting places. Guests can play tennis and croquet. The Barn sleeps two adults. Ample parking directly next to Barn. Please note the Barn is not suitable for children. NB There are no shops or pubs within walking distance.
The Barn is set at the end of a long drive, well away from any road, in a private 33 acre estate, no noise, no light pollution, just peace and quiet. Although directly opposite the main house, it is quite private. High ceilings, french windows with country views, kingsize double bed, wood burning stove, oak dining table with candles, WIFI (not super fast or that strong), TV DVD player - everything you need for a comfortable weekend or longer stay. It is not a hi-tech/spec barn but it is comfy and in a beautiful setting. Parking directly next to the Barn. Well situated for visits to Bath, Salisbury, the Jurassic Coast, Gold Hill, the new Hauser & Wirth gallery/restaurant in Bruton, Longleat, and much more. Fantastic walking and cycling country. Adjacent to Copse View alpaca walking as seen on Countryfile! One king bed on the mezzanine level in the Barn. Private BBQ area Tennis Court Croquet Lawn Clay pigeon shooting (extra cost) We are happy to collect guests from nearby railway station at Gillingham, Dorset (where there is Waitrose/Lidl/Asda). Bear in mind nearest pub would then be 30 mins walk. Beautiful unspoilt countryside - watch the deer and buzzards from the windows - and lots of good pubs nearby. Excellent access to lots of lovely places - Bath, Salisbury, Stonehenge, Stourhead, Jurassic Coast. Bed made up with 100% Egyptian cotton linen, towels provided. Gas rings, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine. Logs can be provided at £5 a large basket. NB The steps to mezzanine are quite steep(URL HIDDEN)No bath, only a shower. NB There is wifi but being in the country it is not strong enough to download movies etc
  • Great location. We spent a couple of days here for a midweek break. Loads of pubs and nice country side nearby. Felt like the barn itself was a great space but needs some freshening up.

  • An amazing few days spent in excellent accommodation and beautiful scenery. Thanks Cara, a great host with a lot of local knowledge! Highly recommended for a country get away :)

  • I can’t recommend this property enough! It’s a perfect hidey hole surrounded by verdant countryside and ideal for a relaxing break. Cara and Stuart are perfect hosts and make you feel completely welcome. There’s lots to do in the surrounding area with Corfe Castle and a trip to the Jurassic Coast a must do!

    Sam2015-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a absolutely fantastic and relaxing week-long staycation. Originally we had chosen it just to get away from the bustle of a big city but it was perfectly located for day-trips to Bath, Longleat and Stourhead among others. Cara and Stuart were exceptionally welcoming and pointed us in the direction of many of the above. Truly cosy - wood burner and a nice glass of wine every night!

    Tim2015-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • This stay exceeded my expectations and I did not want to leave! The barn, the setting, the location (endless views of the countryside!) were outstanding, but what truly made this place so special were the hosts, Cara and Stuart. You cannot ask for better AirBnb hosts-they were so warm, welcoming and made me feel so at home. Their communication was top-notch. The barn was dreamy and even better than the photos, which I didn't think was even possible. They clearly take care of their property and barn. It was very clean and beyond comfortable. I was so lucky to find such a fantastic location with the best hosts any traveler could ask for! I am so grateful that people like Cara and Stuart open up their home for others to enjoy. I have not stopped dreaming of the English countryside and I cannot wait to return.

    Rachel2015-08-12T00:00:00Z

Stunning studio with lovely views of Lyme bay based in the pretty little village of Charmouth with the famous fossil beach. This apartment has stunning views of Lyme Bay . Ideal for complete relaxation. It has its own private terrace and parking . 5 minutes drive to Lyme Regis
Completely refurbished modern studio flat with stunning seaviews from Golden Cap and Lyme bay to Portland Bill. It has its own private terrace and boasts a fully integrated kitchen with all appliances including a dishwasher, fridge, microwave, oven and hob. There is also a modern fully tiled shower room with underfloor heating.
Charmouth is a charming village right on the Juassic coast featuring Golden Cap, the highest point on the south coast, which has wild & wonderful walks in and around the Dorset village of Charmouth. Charmouth is at the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coastline. One mile to the east of the Regency town of Lyme Regis, Charmouth has its own distinct identity and is renowned worldwide for its fossil beaches and famous museum. The village has traditional pubs, shops, post office, chemist and playing fields and eateries. It's not just the fossils that make Charmouth such an attractive holiday destination. The beach is safe for children of all ages as it shelves very gently and low tide reveals wide expanses of sand and many rock pools. Away from beach there are spectacular cliff and inland walks and a centuries old landscape of meadows and hedge rose surrounding the village. For the more leisurely walkers or picnickers, the rolling Devon countryside & Trinity Hill make the perfect setting for an afternoon stroll. Or just pop down to the beach to find yourself a fossil. A stones throw away is Lyme Regis; one of the Jurassic Coasts most famous coastal towns, boasting a micro-brewery, the Marine Theatre & the setting for River Cottage's fishing trips, from the world's famous Cobb Harbor. The rugged coastline is magnificent & has been awarded World Heritage Site status, just the most magical setting. Our recommendations for Restaurants and Pubs Charmouth Fish and chips is seriously good anytime. Great for Sunday Lunch, The Harbour Inn on the front in Lyme Regis, amazing roast beef. Best for breakfast, the small cafe next door to the Harbour Inn, they even do a Mexican style breakfast! The kitchen In The Symonsbury Estate ( Stunning walks and breathtaking views from Colmers hill and Hell lane, recently featured on Julia Bradbury Tv documentary) The Hive Cafe at Burton Bradstock are great for breakfast and lunch ...where you can also eat Oysters and Lobsters in the evening, its location is right on the beach and has everything you could wish for. Also the famous Hix cafe if you like sea food., based again in Lyme Regis ( less than ten minutes in the car from us ) Lyme have a new Vegetarian restaurant called Tierra kitchen, which has fantastic food. The anchor Pub in Seatown is a great choice, The lovely walk over Stone Barrow to get there, also provides sunning views of the coast. English wine is highly under-rated, take a tour of Furleigh Estate& if you are not already, you will be converted. This is home to some of the country's best red, white, pink & sparkling. The hustle & bustle of nearby market towns of Bridport & Honiton will totally overwhelm your senses. On a Saturday, the market is brimming with vintage, retro & antiques & all the cheeky dealers that are coming down from London to grab themselves a bargain... if you are a keen haggler this is the place to be. NB. Make sure you pop down to see Sharon at Old Albion, an absolute gem in this vintage paradise! . If you are here during the right time of year & prefer to take making wine & spirits into your own hands, you can head out on your own foraging for elderberries, damsons & sloes or take a guided foraging tour. For the more adventurous, there are plenty of watersports to be had in Lyme Regis & West Bay, paddle boarding, swimming, surfing, kiteboarding, ribbing, sailing & deep sea fishing Check out (URL HIDDEN) for fantastic blogs about the whole area
  • What an amazing lil spot! Spent a bank holiday weekend on the Jurassic Coast in this lovely studio. The space is perfect, spotlessly clean, modern appliances, comfy bed, and the view, amazing. Can't wait to return, if you're an outdoor enthusiast this is a playground, the hikes and trails are surreal, and they all finish at PUBS!

    Kevin2016-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place for a relaxing Easter bank holiday weekend. Waking up to the views of Stonebarrow, Golden Cap and the sea was delightful and the studio is very well equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay (right down to the champagne flutes, roasting pan and gravy boat!). The area offers coastal walking and fossil hunting minutes from the door but the apartment is so comfortable that a rainy day indoors watching the stormy sea from the sofa is also very pleasant. The studio is very well thought out with a brand new kitchen and bathroom and high quality bedding, towels and kitchen equipment which made cooking a pleasure. Thoughtful touches like a delightful welcome basket, milk in the fridge, tea and coffee plus a lot of local information made us feel right at home. Howard and Wendy were the perfect hosts – considerate in ensuring we had all we needed for our stay while leaving us to relax in peace. Their communication was extremely prompt and helpful throughout the booking process and the trip itself. We would both like to come and stay again and would certainly recommend the studio to friends and family.

    Gabriel2016-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely studio. Had everything we needed. Very modern and clean. The views were stunning. It was very memorable.

  • I booked this short break for my parents as it was my mums 80th birthday, they very much enjoyed their stay. Howard and Wendy were very helpful, everything was as described and very high quality. Mum loved waking up to beautiful sun rises and had a relaxing break with wonderful sea views. A lovely basket of goodies was a nice surprise for them too. Thank you for your great hospitality Howard and Wendy.

    Rebecca2016-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • We visited Charmouth to escape London for a couple of days walking the Jurassic coast. The studio flat was newly refurbished, well equipped, cosy with excellent views. It was a lovely base to set out in either direction and a short drive from Lyme Regis. Would definitely recommend visiting in November. Wendy and Howard were very accommodating and we were very grateful for a lift to Axminster to catch our train back. Thank you!

    Eva2016-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely long weekend at Howard and Wendy's. The view from the flat overlooking the sea was beautiful. It was really easy to walk down to the beach. We especially enjoyed walking along the beautiful beach to Lyme Regis for dinner and drinks. The flat was very clean and tidy and had great amenities. We felt at home very quickly. We would definitely recommend the studio for those looking for a relaxing beach stay.

This is a bright, tastefully decorated, private annex with self catering facilities. The living area is well planned to make use of the space; there is a two ring hob and a convection oven, a fridge freezer, breakfast bar and spacious, comfortable sofa with large flat screen TV. The bedroom has a comfy king size bed and plenty of storage with en-suite bathroom and powerful shower over the bath. Private, enclosed area catches evening sun. A lovely 10-15 minute walk into Lyme along the river.
An easy walk to Lyme and the beach and a short drive to River Cottage, this bright and airy annex has everything you need to enjoy this beautiful area. You have your own access and very private, sunny outside space. Our house is attached to the annex and so I'm generally on hand if you need anything but I also appreciate the need for privacy. You will probably hear some family sounds particularly when we are in the kitchen, which joins the annex by a single locked door, and one bedroom partly above the annex lounge. This doesn't seem to be disruptive and we try to be considerate. This space is very comfortable for two people and has been known to fit a travel cot in the bedroom. I am happy to accommodate young children either in the same bed or using your own travel beds.
Colway Lane is a lovely, peaceful part of Lyme Regis. The walk to the town and beaches is very pleasant, along the river and feels safe at night as it is street lit all the way. It can be very hard to park in the town particularly in the summer and many people park their cars by the river and walk into town from Colway Lane as it is such a nice walk. The area is riddled with footpaths and there is a folder in the annex giving details of some beautiful walks that you can do from the front door or further afield on the South West coast path exploring the wonderful Jurassic Coast.
  • Sara was welcoming and helpful and gave perfect directions right to the door.

    Toni2015-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We chose to spend the last 3 days of our holiday in Lyme Regis and as soon as we opened the front door to the annex we were pleased we did. The little extra touches provided by Sara (including the numerous printed copies of the route into town, the maps and guides of local areas, the welcome note and ice already frozen ready for our gin!) all added to an enjoyable stay. The annex was spotlessly tidy, in a very quiet location and had everything needed for your stay; we immediately felt relaxed and at home. Following the very clear directions we enjoyed the beautiful walk into Lyme Regis (seeing bats on the way back was a real treat). The annex proved to be a perfect base for exploring the local area and we had a lovely day in Charmouth and another in Beer where we walked along the coastal path down to Branscombe – highly recommended for the views and the wildlife. Sara was away when we stayed but this didn’t prove to be problematic as she ensured that everything was in place for our visit through emails beforehand and a note for our arrival. We would definitely recommend the Annex as a perfect place to stay to explore Lyme Regis and the surrounding area. Sarah and Raye

    Sarah2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Although we did not meet Sarah because she was away she gave us plenty of information beforehand communication was very good

    Rose2016-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very easy to walk into town and get onto the beach. Nice quiet residential area, with private patio for sitting out on - we had a lovely relaxing time!

    Jacki2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Sara was in touch well before our visit with good directions, her mobile number and how to gain entry to the annexe if she wasn't there to meet us. Nice touch of a card (written by daughter Lucy) and milk and fudge! Plenty of info on walks etc. Annexe was compact, well designed, and very clean. Bed large and comfortable. Quiet location and a nice 15 min walk into town. Would recommend.

    David2015-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Communications with Sara before the start of our trip were friendly, helpful and reassured us that we had made a good choice of accommodation. Once we reached Lyme, Sara's instructions re the location and gaining entry to the accommodation were clear and easy to follow. The annex itself was exactly what we wanted - the freedom to come and go as we pleased, sited away from main roads so quiet at night (so we got a good night's sleep), well-equipped so that we could cook a meal if we wanted to, and, although small, gave us the comfort to relax when we got back. Its location suited us perfectly - a minute's walk to the lamp-lit route along the river into the middle of Lyme, and with good access, too, to the coastal path. Sara's welcoming gift of fudge, milk and a birthday card for my husband (the visit was a treat for his birthday) was a lovely way to start our stay. And after meeting Sara the next morning, this reinforced our feeling that we had found the obvious place to return to, when we next visit Lyme. Plus we loved the sight of the passionflower from the kitchen window - still in flower in mid-November. Beautiful!

    Ellie2015-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely 4 day break in this cosy annex. Sara was a very friendly welcoming host, the card and fudge on arrival was a lovely touch. The annex was equipped to a very high standard. The bedroom was beautifully furnished with a very comfortable bed. Nice, peaceful locality with a beautiful walk along the river into the town and beach, only a short climb up on the way back! Lots of good places to eat in Lyme Regis covering all budgets. Hopefully we will return. Sadly, we didn't get round to doing Sara's walks.

    Rosemary2015-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • have just spent a wonderful 4 days at Sara's annexe.   There is a lovely short walk along the river down to the beach. We cycled down and back but it is a bit steep on the way back. .   The location is great.  Not far from the main street and the beach. I swam in the sea every morning.  We loved the little area outside the annexe with patio table and chairs, although some evenings it was too hot to sit outside!! It was great to soak in the bath every evening and Sara very kindly left bubble bath as well as shampoo and conditioner.  Would definitely recommend Sara's place. Show

My place is close to great views. You’ll love my place because of the light. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and furry friends (pets).
    Spacious holiday let for two.
It is a short stroll to Chesil Beach and you can sit and relax to the sight and sound of the sea at Quiddles Cafe or the Cove House Inn. Walk the round the coast path, investigate the Nature Reserve Quarries and enjoy a cream tea at Portland Bill. Good base for climbers, divers, sailors, bird watchers, fishermen and, of course, walkers. About 5 Mins drive from Marina and National Sailing Academy.
  • Lovely cottage with nice period details and comfortable furnishings. Very cosy with all the practical modern features for a self catered holiday. Pretty handy for transport links into Weymouth. Surprisingly luxurious bathroom! I didn't meet Marion in person but she was friendly and efficient via communication. Recommended.

  • We had a lovely time staying at this cottage. Well thought out space with everything you could need, a real home away from home. The views from the attic room are lovely. A good base for exploring Portland and surrounding area. We had no problems with parking, using the car parks recommended by the owner. All in all a great holiday.

    Gina2017-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The house of Marion was very nice and well located. Everything we needed was there, the bathroom was very nice and the view from the attack was impressing! You really feel at home on the Isle of Portland. We made nice walks in Abbotsbury and around Milton Abbas. Only remarque: the bed was rather simple.

    Marja2017-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Comfy cosy cottage. Lots to see and do. Very friendly place.

    Roz2017-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning place. Walk away from some shops, and some amazing views. 20 minute drive into Weymouth and 5 minutes to Portland bill lighthouse. The views are breathtaking. Cottage is gorgeous and homely. Lovely bathroom and complementary bottle of wine on arrival. Couldn't ask for better, especially for the value.

  • We have just returned from a wonderful 5 night stay at Tate Cottage on the beautiful Isle of Portland. The cottage is in a great location within easy walking distance of Chesil beach and just around the corner from shops, pubs and cafes as well as a bus stop with a regular service to Weymouth. Marion kept in touch and checked in with us during our stay, she had also provided lots of helpful information about the area in the cottage. The cottage is beautiful, set down a quirky little side street full of funky little homes and flower-filled gardens. The terrace area is small but very pleasant for breakfasts in the sunshine, great well equipped kitchen and a fairly basic lounge but with everything you need. Upstairs the cottage comes into its own, beautiful bedroom and a truly sensational bathroom, and then a gorgeous further room on the top floor with amazing views over the sea. We hope to visit again and will definitely recommend the cottage, truly an idyllic holiday enjoyed by myself, my partner and our dog.

    Emma2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Marion's for a long weekend, and could have easily stayed longer. The cottage had everything we needed, and Marion had left information on local restaurants and activities. The location was perfect for exploring Portland, and an easy commute to key spots along the Jurassic coastline. The cottage is situated on a quiet road, so it was very peaceful. We would definitely stay again.

    Hayley2018-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Very well equipped home. Lovely and clean. Bedding and towels were hotel standards. It's a great base to travel around the Jurassic Coast.View from top floor was wonderful. Directions and instructions provided by Marion were 'spot on'.

A recently completed contemporary 'woodhouse'. Finished in a beautiful Scandi Chic decor that simply makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. Polished concrete floors, fully fitted high-end kitchen and spectacular views. Set in the heart of a rural property and surrounded by horses grazing and rolling Dorset countryside. Fantastic location but only 10 minutes drive to the picturesque harbour town of Weymouth - with beaches, cafes, bars and restaurants. The perfect retreat? Quite possibly
The Woodhouse has been designed with one thing in mind, making guests feel relaxed or entertained - whichever they choose. The spec is high end but not pretentious. It comes with fully fitted kitchen including sink, 4 ring hob, extractor, fridge with freezer compartment, washing machine and dishwasher. The Woodhouse comes with polished concrete floors, high grade ply walls and Scaninavian themed furniture. The space also includes smart tv (with only internet services), fibre optic broadband, premium woodburning stove, large outdoor decked area, beautiful outdoor wood fired pizza oven/heater, outdoor dining area for 6 with parasol, and 6 seater hot tub with bluetooth speakers, mood lighting and of course, spectacular views.
The Woodhouse is set in the heart of a rural property just outside the village of Chickerell and is in a World Heritage Site AND Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It's location is superb due to its rural outlook, but close proximity to Weymouth - a picturesque fishing town. Weymouth has bars, restaurants, cafe's, award winning beach and a huge variety of tourist attractions for adults and children. In the opposite direction is the Jurassic coast. Here you will find quaint villages and more epic scenery.
  • Really relaxing stay, really enjoyable. Loved the hot tub and log burner, I need a bit more practice with the pizza oven, nobody died tho!!

    Paul2017-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house, fabulous scenery! Added bonus was the horse/pony Christmas fancy dress, have never seen so many rudolphs! Perfect for me with the equine setting. Wood burner was fantastic, hot tub was a huge bonus! Loved it all, will book again for sure! Didn't want to leave!

    Rachel2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and my partner came for valentines and weren’t disappointed. This cabin is simple and clean. It has some lovely extras like Hot tub, Pizza oven and log burner. The equipment is all to a good standard and little things are taken into account like dishwasher tabs etc. Its peaceful at night with lovely unspoiled views. A great base for the local area which is filled with some of the best coasts in the U.K Reasonably priced and we only had cause to contact the hosts once for more firewood as we were enjoying the pizza oven, more wood was sorted very quickly. Our dog Sid enjoyed himself and the cabin was perfect for him.

    Chris2018-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • If you re looking for a get away that offers modern, quiet, clean and comfortable accommodation with beautiful views, walks and surrounding areas then this is the place for you! Fantastic communication and were on hand to answer any questions and offer advice. We loved the hot tub (even if we had gale force wind and rain) and the prosecco and eggs on arrival was a really lovely touch! Great place to bring in the new year 🍾🎉

    Hannah2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Woodhouse is just as described and more. The facilities provided were brilliant and Stephen left lots of extra touches that made our weekend even better. Communication throughout was great and hosts answered any questions we had, including bringing us extra firewood in the dark! Could not fault the woodhouse and everything that Stephen has done here.

    Siobhan2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish accommodation and a really lovely place to stay. Tranquil setting with gorgeous views across unspoilt countryside. The living space and patio with hot tub and pizza oven offer a haven to relax and take in the views. Made for a really nice relaxing break. I don't know if was the country air or the peace and quiet but we all slept really well! Our hosts were good too and were quick to respond when we asked for recommendations etc. Would be more than happy to come back again :)

    Claire2018-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen's place is great fun! Clean lines and a comfortable space set near to the Equestrian centre, we found it exactly as described. The hot tub on the deck was lovely... clean, bubbly and hot..and has a lovely view west over the hills and into the sunset. The Scandi theme worked for us.. we slept well, cooked on the outdoor pizza oven and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings.. we will definitely come back one day!

The Barn is a delightful studio apartment, situated next to our family home in the quaint village of Burley, New Forest. Recently refurbished, the barn features an open plan living, kitchen and sleeping area with its own private entrance and small outside space with eating area and space for a BBQ. It is a truly fantastic base for you to enjoy what the national park has to offer; including walking, bike riding, horse riding, or exploring the beaches of the south coast.
Inside, the barn features a full kitchen which includes an oven, hob, microwave and tea/coffee making facilities. A choice of eating areas either at the breakfast bar or at the dining area table. There is a comfortable sitting area with Smart TV, wireless internet and whole range of DVD’s, books, board games - something for every one to enjoy. Our guests can enjoy a cosy reading corner with high back chair and a overhead lamp. There is also a self-contained shower room which features a sink, toilet and freestanding shower.
The Barn is surrounded by woodland, and just 100 meters from open new forest heathland, with spectacular views reaching towards the Purbecks. This is an amazing spot for a picnic glass of wine or a beer and watch one of the best sunset views in the new forest over the moor. We have picnic blankets and hamper for our guests to enjoy as they wish. We regularly have deer and horses outside the gates grazing which our guests love to see. The village is a 15 min walk through the woods in both directions which loop around to make a really nice distance stroll, with a pub or cafe break in the middle. The village has a couple of country pubs perfect for a nice meal and drink, and a selection of quirky shops. Just 3 miles down the road is the Market Town of Ringwood with a range shops and supermarkets.
  • Lovely clean secluded barn conversion, warm and inviting with all the mod-cons that you need.

  • We had a lovely stay at the Barn! Very comfortable and relaxing. Great location and friendly hosts. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

  • This was a lovely, homely, peaceful place with amazing countryside on the doorstep. We loved our stay and the host really looked after us. All was as advertised, check in was smooth, and we completely relaxed. It was really well set up for our little boy too - Emily provided a cot and high chair and some toys for him. It's a great little forest hideaway and we plan to come back.

    Andrew2018-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Absolute pleasure to stay and wouldn't think twice about rebooking. Very cosy and homely. We loved the nice touch of the milk, oj, eggs and bread etc. Thank you so much!

  • The Barn was lovely and cosy. It was perfect for our stay. Great location, the forest is on the doorstep, but also an easy walk into the little village. The eggs, bread, juice and milk was a nice surprise! Would definitely stay again.

  • Wonderful accommodation in an idyllic peaceful setting, would recommend to anyone and we will certainly return

    Karen2018-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • The barn is in a most beautiful spot in the New Forest, you just step a few yards outside and you're in a beautiful, peaceful tranquil haven with ponies roaming around. It's around 20 mins walk into Burley where there are a few pubs and tea rooms and a small shop. The barn itself is very well equipped and beautifully styled - it's got everything you need for a comfortable stay. Emily greeted us shortly after arriving and made sure we had everything we needed which was a really nice touch. The barn is next to the main house but maintains its own privacy. Thanks Emily and family for a lovely stay, we hope to be back again soon!

  • A perfect place to stay for the Bank Holiday weekend. Our only disappointment the weather wasn't nice enough to enjoy the private outdoor space. Thank you Amanda for the welcome and delicious breakfast.

    Lesley2015-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Loved The Lodge, comfortable, spotlessly clean, good location and Amanda was very welcoming. Loads of things for brekkie, and the little private garden was great. Will definitely stay again.

    Ian2015-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Lodge was absolutely brilliant, so quaint and homely. There is a lovely private garden behind it with a wood burner which makes for great fun having a few drinks and playing board games. Parking is ample and access to the Lodge is through your own gate. Amanda was on site to meet us on the day of our arrival and is a lovely charismatic woman. She provides you with a page of her top tips for local eateries and watering holes, 3 of which we visited and can highly recommend!! Amanda goes the extra distance, providing useful items that help you explore the local area, it sounds silly, but sandwich bags had not featured on our shopping list prior to arrival, so the fact they were provided was a nice touch. Great location and everything you need is within walking distance, or short driving distance if the weather isn't as nice as it was for us. Highly recommended.

    Frances2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for 2 nights and had a fab time. The lodge is small but perfectly formed. The breakfast was fab and on the Saturday night we walked into the town and had an amazing Thai. New forest is beautiful and we would definitely recommend Amanda's lodge to other visitors.

    Emma2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda was very helpful, answering all questions immediately and was very friendly. I told her I was vegan and she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The lodge was even nicer than the airbnb description - it had a nice little garden round the back of it with candles and there was a resident hedgehog in the garden. It was easier to get to the lodge on public transport than I thought it would be, and it is a ten minute walk from town. They provided us with useful maps and recommendations for walks. It was very clean and quiet apart from the dawn chorus of birds, which was nice to wake up to.

    Tanya2015-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • The lodge was great, small and compact with everything you could ever need! It was clean, easy to find and the hosts were very helpful with great instructions, even though we didn't meet.Breakfast was a great touch and really delicious. Thank you for having us!!

    Sarah2015-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place to stay in, only 20minutes away from Bournemouth beach! Very clean inside and out. Also comes with few films which is a plus for a night in! Thank you for your hospitality! Would recommend anyone to take up that specific lodge!

    Muhammed2015-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived in Ringwood to one very smiley and welcoming Amanda ! From the word go nothing was too much trouble, she even accomodated us a space for our bikes as we were down for the sportive even. The loge itself was beautifully clean and comforatble, well kitted out for a weekend away, and located in a very well kept garden. It was far enough away from the house that it still felt nice n private, and having the added space with he wood burner at the back gave you another little retreat in the evenings. If you're a young couple like ourselves looking for a nice retreat for the weekend, then i would thoroughly recommend this place. It's well located with just a 2 minute walk to the co-op shop, and only ten minute walk into the center of Ringwood, which has some really great places to eat out, and has good lively bars in the evening. Would definitely recommend the Noisey Lobster for some lush seafood ! And for getting further afield Amanda was ver y knowledgeable about the New Forest and provided a plethora of maps and cycle tracks etc to keep you going. Thanks again for a lovely weekend. Jim and Emily x

Our modern Eco Pod is set in it's own secluded wildlife garden area, giving a true nature experience with all the comforts for 2 people. Only 5 mins drive from Shaftesbury, Dorset, and 50 minutes from the Jurassic Coast. Superb country walks! It's normally set up with a kin size bed. The Pod is tiny. Think of it as a two berth wooden caravan. It really just has the large bed, there is no table on the inside, but a small kitchen area with sink and hob.
The Pod is a small compact space built as an airtight structure that self regulates temperature and therefore is very comfortable. It's ideal for couples, close friends or one parent and child. It features a large bed (1.80m x 2.20) under a sloping ceiling, a small kitchenette with 2 burner hob and sink with hot & cold water. Please note that there is no table inside. There is literally just the bed and kitchenette. The kitchen is equipped with all essentials including kettle and toaster. You will also find Organic English Breakfast Tea, Organic Coffee, sugar, salt and pepper. There is decking on the outside which gets sunshine most of the day (when the sun shines). A few steps up is a Gazebo with a table and 2 chairs. This is a great space to have an al-fresco meal and watch the wildlife around the pond. There is a small cubicle with a compost toilet inside the Pod. Some people have commented that it is too small for a tall person to have the door closed. Please keep this in mind. Guest also have use of the separate unheated shower shed with hot water. Please note that during the Winter the shower shed is not operating. In that case guests are welcome to use the shower in the main house. There is a summer house that houses a fridge freezer, a small oven, two camping chairs and space to store luggage or wet clothing/shoes. The Pod sits in it's own part of the garden, with 2 wildlife ponds. This creates a lovely, secluded garden area for our guests. You basically have your own little wildlife patch here. Ducks often visit the pond early in the morning. Look out for deer, badgers and pheasants. Because of the ponds our grounds are not suitable for small children.
The Pod is located in a small hamlet 1.5miles outside Shaftesbury, Dorset on the edge of ancient woodland. This is a quiet area and the most you will hear is the occasional dog barking, lawnmower or strimmer. However, don't be surprised to be woken by birdsong and to hear owls and other creatures at night. The local village store 'Ludwell Store and Postoffice' is approximately 1.5miles away and can be reached by foot, car or bicycle. The nearest pub is half a mile and the nearest supermarket 1.5 miles.
  • Gabriela was a fantastic host and made us both feel very welcome. It was a idyllic hideaway in the country and it was so peaceful and serene. Thank you!

  • Really enjoyable stay, would definitely recommend. Great hosts in a beautiful part of the world. Many thanks for your hospitality!

  • We stayed in the pod for two nights and found it to be warm, cosy and really well fitted out with a big bed and lots of cooking equipment. The location is beautiful, we saw lots of deer, rabbits and pheasants in the surrounding woodland. The pod is a great base for lots of lovely walks and nearby Shaftesbury is worth a visit (if only for the cream tea). Gabriela and Neil were great hosts, accommodating and quick to respond to any queries. They let us use their shower and lent us some cooking basics (oils, seasoning) which was very handy. I would definitely stay again.

    Natalie2015-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is our first experience of AirBnB. If it's always this good then it's amazing. The Pod is a great little haven with wildlife outside and a wonderful calm feel. Gabriela and Neil are perfect hosts; helpful when you need them but not 'in your face' at any point. I'm sure we'll be back.

    Deryck2015-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend in Gabriela's pod. It was amazing to stay somewhere which felt so free, and tranquil. It was beautifully quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed going on several walks right from the pod, without using the car at all, through woodland, meadows and hills. We had a great pub lunch at The Grove Arms, and a delicious curry in Shaftesbury too. Gabriela was a helpful but unobtrusive host. We left feeling thoroughly relaxed. Thank you so much!

    Rachel2015-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed in the eco-pod as an escape from London, and I couldn't have been happier. Everything was clean, even the shed which houses the shower was modern and virtually cobweb free. The eco-pod is in a large wildlife garden, which you get free reign of to relax in. Gabriela was a great host - she made it clear that she was at the end of the phone if I needed anything, but otherwise left me to my own devices. Perfect!

    James2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Perfectly formed space with everything you need. Warm and comfortable even in cold weather. Very peaceful and calm

    Kirsty2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very nice 2 nights stay in the pod. Gabriela was friendly and flexible for check-in and check-out, as well as for access to the shower - which is located inside her house. The pod is very small but has a comfortable and large bed, and everything we needed (kettle, cook/tableware). A fridge is also available. The garden and surroundings are really lovely.

  • We had a lovely stay at the willow annexe. The space was exactly as described and we really appreciated the breakfast items which were provided. Sally was a very welcoming host and was very accommodating when we arrived a little later than expected. She also provided some excellent recommendations for food and places to visit. The annexe is in a lovely village and is a perfect base for exploring the Dorset countryside. Overall we wouldn't hesitate to recommend the willow annexe and we would love to return one day.

  • We were warmly welcomed and shown round the property by Sally who was an excellent host. The annex is deceptively spacious, bright and clean . Everything you need to make for a very pleasant stay is provided, along with tea, cereal and pastries for breakfast, milk and bread and of course free range eggs! None of this is expected when you book a place to stay but it was very much appreciated and enjoyed. We forgot towels and were pleased to find even these were provided as well! Other hosts would do well to note that these sort of things go a long way to making a great stay even better. The location is peaceful and although a little remote just a short trip to the main road allowing access to so many different places to explore. The property is modern and well cared for and is ideal for short breaks or longer. I would not hesitate to return and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking to visit the area.

  • We had a lovely stay in Sally's annex. Sally was very welcoming and showed us round and explained everything. The annex was very clean and finished to a high standard. It had everything we needed and was a great place to stay. We enjoyed seeing the chickens in the morning! The accommodation is well placed to explore the local area. The local pub was nice (but very busy so worth booking dinner in advance).

  • We had a great stay at Willow Annex. The bed was comfy, the kitchen was well equipped. The breakfast basket was a great touch which we very much enjoyed, plus the eggs were very tasty!

  • Such a fab host and annexe! Sally made me incredibly welcome, gave me lots of ideas of things to do which was really helpful and made my stay much more enjoyable. The annexe itself was amazing- Really clean, comfy, warm and I could really make it my own for the duration of my stay which was lovely. The village is really nice and the views in the area are just stunning! Loads to do so it's hard to get bored, but equally, the place is nice enough to just stay in all day and do nothing! I loved every second of my stay and will no doubt be back again at some point!

The Salt Box is perfect for solo adventurers, business travelers and couples. It is small, but we think "perfectly formed"! Easy to get to, being 5 minutes from the A303.
Newly converted in 2017, The Salt Box offers a compact studio space with everything you need for an overnight stop or longer break. There is a modern shower room and plenty of outside space for parking. The kitchen includes an induction hob, combination oven/microwave, fridge freezer and kettle & toaster. We provide the basics for a drink and snacks when you arrive.
Take a pause and breathe in the tranquility of Somerset in this quiet hamlet. There are loads of good local pub/restaurants, several National Trust houses close by and the Jurassic Coast is under an hours drive away to the south.
  • We had a lovely break. Sarah and Tim were very accommodating. It is a lovely clean barn conversion 35 minutes drive from Lyme Regis.

  • On small country road close to restaurants/pubs and shops. Accommodation was Stunning with everything we needed. Sarah was a wonderful host. Highly recommended.

  • Sarah went above and beyond to make our stay restorative and enjoyable. We were doing a walking trail in locations without easy access to transportation and got caught in the rain. Sarah very kindly helped us dry the only clothes we had, and offered us a ride to a nearby place if needed. We were able to walk into town, which has cafes, shops, restaurants, and lovely buildings. We had a comfortable night's sleep in this private yet conveniently located space, and were happy there was a stovetop we could use to heat up our soup for a hot meal. Many thanks!

  • We greatly enjoyed our stay at the secluded, quite and modern Salt Box. Sarah is a great host and the accommodation offered us all it needed to help busy city dwellers relax in style in such beautiful, rural surroundings. We highly recommend a stay in the Salt Box.

Clean, smart room at the bottom of the house with view of garden and access to ensuite shower room. Extra nice touches include free parking space, use of guest slippers, shampoo/conditioner, hairdryer, cut flowers, biscuits, tourism info. The room is next to the study which is used for work/calls in the week and which you access to get in and out but otherwise you have the floor to yourself. You can also use the garden to have the very filling and delightful breakfast which is included. Noise was only noticeable from the study next door or upstairs in the morning as the family get ready for work/school in the week. But in fairness they made an effort to make minimal noise throughout our stay. And frankly if u want peace and quiet then book a caravan in the middle of a field! It is what it is, a room in a shared house for a good price with excellent accommodation and breakfast. Hosts were very friendly and left suggestions on where to eat which we took up and were very good. If you want to visit Lyme and meet a friendly couple then book here, you won't regret it.

We were incredibly impressed with the top quality furnishings, fully equipped kitchen and sophisticated heating system. The showers were roomy and the generous sized beds comfortable. The property was tastefully decorated and impeccably clean throughout. We could not find a single fault with our stay and will certainly be recommending it to our friends and family.
