Location, location, location! Large, classy, timeless, comfortable, entire top floor with private entrance in our private house out of a 1890's novel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn one block from the East River. So easy to get to Manhattan by subway, ferry, cab or even foot, and all the best places in the "Burg" Wifi/cableTV/air/heat. (We stay in our separate floor below you never compromising your privacy!)
Perfect location on the Northside Williamsburg, Brooklyn Waterfront scene, my place is a wood beamed classic, with hard wood floors and restored original brick wall. It is the top floor of a 1894 restored house on a very nice semi residential street block. The nicely outfitted place, "the country in the sky" as I refer to it, has a beautiful totally functional "Peerless" antique prewar stove for cooking, generous amounts of pots, a wood burning fire place and a full size refrigerator in the kitchen. The feelings are cozy, warm, cabin like yet elegant. The kitchen and living room are in the same open area. There is a dining room table that seats 4, a beautiful brand new couch that folds down to become a very comfortable queen size bed that sleeps 2. Beyond the living area is the large master bedroom with a queen size bed that sleeps 2 with a large antique dresser and 2 riverside windows. Off the master bedroom is a large tiled classic bathroom with an antique skylight and large tub with shower, and a small bedroom with a twin size bed and riverside window that is nice as a separate rest area, a great place for a child to sleep, or an out of sight room to put your luggage and things. My location is beyond great and safe. 10 minutes maximum in a cab or car service over the Williamsburg Bridge and you are in Manhattan. It is a short walk (3 min) to the North 6th Street East River Ferry ( the scenic quick river route to Midtown Manhattan or lower Manhattan, please check schedules). Subways: L train ( gray line): First stop in Brooklyn, only one stop to Manhattan and a neat 10 minute walk from my place going by shops, restaurants and street vendors to the very frequent Northside L train subway stop at Bedford Ave and North 7 St, (Everything you want to pick up to take back to my place is on Bedford Ave or Kent Avenue which are the walking routes to the subway. (Among the small shops, restaurants and bars, there is now a "Whole Foods" supermarket and a Iphone store on Bedford!) The JM subway that goes over the Williamsburg Bridge with wonderful views of the river and NYC skyline to lower Manhattan (Chinatown etc), is a little further (13 min walk ) through the South Side. After a night out in the neighborhood, you will find this quiet, comfortable, timeless place to come home to that is the top floor of a restored Williamsburg house. All East River parks are a short walk away with their spectacular river and skyline views. During the warm months the weekend flea/food markets down Kent Avenue/North 8 on weekends are fun and back dropped by the river and Manhattan skyline. Grand Street River Park is only a block and a half away. I love going there in the mornings with a cup of tea and taking in the NYC view. The quaint restaurants and music clubs are amazing and abundant, the "Williamsburg Foodtown" Market has all the groceries you need and frankly the only reason I would leave the "Burg" would be to go to a museum, St. Patrick's, Grand Central's Oyster Bar or ice skating at Rockerfeller Center. Indoor Flea Market on North 7th right off Kent Ave, "Mast Brothers Chocolate" on North 3rd off Berry, "Beer Garden" restaurant lunch, dinner, brunch with live music on Friday nights on North 3rd and Berry, "Sea" restaurant (Thai) on North 6, "Sweet Water" (Bistro) restaurant on North 6, "Dumont Burger" for awesome burgers on Bedford between South 2-3, "Aurora" (Northern Italian) with great brunches, lunches and dinners is right around the corner as is "Coxley's" sport bar with 40 beers on tap and great chicken wings on Grand St. "Teddy's" rest and bar (American Bistro) on North 8, a landmark that serves brunch, lunch and dinner and also has music sometimes at night, and the "Knitting Factory" music performance space and bar is 6 blocks away on Metropolitan. The best NY steak house, "Peter Luger's" reservations only, is in the vicinity. The floor is divided in 4 areas: upon entering you are in the kitchen and living, dining room with a wall and door that separates this space from the large bedroom in the front, the large tiled bathroom and the smaller front bedroom. The living area can easily convert to a sleeping area for 2. The place is adorable and sleeps four comfortably. Much quieter than most places in the area. Heat, air conditioning, wifi, fine linens/towels and kitchen utensils are provided for my guest. Full laundry drop off service and dry cleaners is available a couple of blocks up the street at "Berry Cleaners" or 302 Bedford Ave. My personal assistant/butler and I will check with you on your arrival time, hand over keys and be close at hand for anything you need during your stay. I and my husband are on our private lower floor of the house.
The neighborhood feels like a small village. It is very safe and has such a mixture of different foods, cultures, and restaurants. The Manhattan skyline views along Kent Ave can get no better and the wonderful Pier off North 5 on a Sunday afternoon is full of families, tourist and the occasional fisherman. During the warmer months there are outdoor flea markets and food markets of North 8 on the East River side. Bedford Avenue (3 blocks away) on the North and South side is filled with non chain restaurants, bars and shops.
  • Great location, amazing host

  • Maria greeted us upon arrival and showed us to the beautiful apartment, firing up the wood burning fireplace to make us feel welcome, warm, and cozy. The apartment is exactly as advertised--spacious, clean, elegant, rustic, with all the amenities you may need. In addition to the fabulous fireplace, there is an amazing kitchen with all the basics you might need to settle in for your country in the city getaway retreat (oils, spices, tea, coffee). The bed and linens are extremely comfortable; the apartment is warm (we visited on a blistered winter weekend); the shower is hot; the decor is in fine taste. We would come again and again. Thank you, Maria, for a lovely stay.

  • We were met by the exuberant Azul who was a joy to behold. He explained the whole set up and some of his favourite places in town. The apartment was on as described and there were some neat touches like the old working stove and comfy bed.we lived e neighbourhood and ate there every night as the restaurants were fantastic. Supermarket 5 blocks away, yoga 3 and the metro 7. It was quite hot but we had air in each room. There was unfortunately some road works outside which was quite disturbing but it is expected in any big city. The kitchen window was large and light but didn't give any privacy from down stairs tenants who were outside on their deck quite a bit.two stiff flights of stairs with bags was managable but could be hard for some.

  • Maria's place was a great find and very well located.

  • Great place to stay! Awesome location- 2 blocks from the East River, 5 minute walk to the Brooklyn Flea/Food Markets, 10 minute walk to Williamsburg bars, shops, and Bedford L train stop, $20-$30 cab ride from Manhattan depending where you are. HUGE apartment. Gorgeous wood floor. Extremely helpful landlord (Azul). The only problem I found with this place was that there are mosquitos, so make sure the windows have screens on them if you are staying in the summer time. Small AC, but with windows open at night the place can get pretty cool. Would definitely stay here again. Maria was very helpful and responsive, as well.

  • This is a lovely apartment in a great area. This was our first time staying outside Manhattan and we absolutely loved it.We will definitely return. We were there in December when the weather was cold but the apartment was lovely and warm all the time. The bed was extremely comfortable. We did not eat at home at all but the facilities are there if you want to. there are brilliant shops and restaurants all around. One of the nicest things was how decent the owners are. They trust you to look after the place and not abuse it and i think most people completely engage with that. It is nice to be made to feel so welcome. One thing to note: the apartment is on the second (UK) floor of a lovely old building. That means there is no lift and you will have to carry your suitcase up the stairs. Just bear that in mind when you pack. thank you Maria and Greg for a lovely place to enjoy our trip.

  • Williamsburg is a lovely place and definitely worth a visit, we stayed 5 nights, there were 3 adults and a teenager, we were slightly cramped but we made it work, the apt is good for local memories and Azul was very helpful in check in “Sunday in Brooklyn” does lovely food and only a few mins walk away, the ferry to Manhattan is the best way to travel and has lovely skyline views, there are many supermarkets within easy reach, be sure to go down all streets as there is so much to see

    Jen2018-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place - a bit out of the bustle of Williamsburg but within walking distance of the shops, restaurants, etc that make this such a happening area. A funky, pleasant, fully equipped and comfortable hideaway right near the water. (Note - the walk from Bedford Ave subway is fairly lengthy for dragging a suitcase - and the stairs are very steep, so not a spot for anyone with challenges.)

Downtown, the best bit of Manhattan. One of, if not the, LARGEST space on Airbnb in NYC. Your Own PRIVATE Bathroom & PRIVATE Bedroom, a Terrace off the bedroom, near to subways/buses, restaurants, bars, real luxury right in the middle of things. Just read our 400+ 5-STAR REVIEWS and you will see why we are SUPER-HOSTS and why you will just love this place, like other guests, I promise. Si, hablo bien espanol, Français parlé assez bien.
Downtown Manhattan, .. just like you see it in the films. Only so much better in real life !! All the details are below so that will see all that you will experience on your trip to the Big Apple - there are lots of things you will love when you stay here, but PLEASE PLEASE (did I say please?) try to read all the way to the end of the description, including sleeping arrangements, information on the area, getting around and the frequently asked questions. I know it is a bit of a novel, but it is well worth it and, from experience, it makes sure you understand everything in detail and ensures you will have the best stay that you can. Anything at all that you are not sure about, if you are new to Airbnb for example, just ask and I will get back asap and clarify. • Very spacious loft apartment ( about 2000 sq feet, 188 sq m, at last measure - so very BIG for New York) in the center of arguably the coolest area of the city (please do not argue ), modern, minimalist furniture , very open, very clean, I take great pride in having a spotless living environment (that goes for the host too). A Massive space that gets flooded with light via a wall of windows. Just take a look at the pictures. High security. Walking distance to subways & museums. Friendly building and very safe neighborhood. • Your own PRIVATE bathroom - Large, spacious, with Jacuzzi Bath, Shower, Hairdryer, Kohler fixtures. Fresh towels etc. Fully-stocked. All the shampoo and things you will ever need. Just for you. • Your own PRIVATE bedroom - Queen Bed for 2, firm and soft pillows for every type of sleeper, linens, towels, Large Flat Screen TV, Netflix, Amazon TV etc, Wardrobe. Again only for you. • Large kitchen - Open concept with an area to eat and with everything you need to design a gourmet feast, top of the line GE appliances, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle , Dishwasher, stainless steel counter top etc. Make any food you want - if it is really good, give me some. Make coffee there in the morning - always available -- you have your very own little coffee bar. • Very large living area, Real Fireplace, WiFi, Surround sound HDTV with HDMI hook-up and Roku TV, Bose sound system with iPhone/iPod hook-up, the best choice in music (in my opinion, most not consulted). Sit.... Enjoy • Large dining area - seats lots, great views over the city and over the Williamsburg Bridge. Eat foods mentioned above (probably while seated, although one can never be sure). • Natural brick walls (as opposed to unnatural I suppose) and a lovely Merbeau wooden floor, both of which look good (but don't say much). • Floor to ceiling windows throughout - bathed in sun (when the sun is out, mainly, of course) • Outside secluded seating area and balcony - you access directly from your room - very secluded (sometimes I cannot find it) • Full air conditioning / heating in the room and in rest of loft - be hot, be cool (most likely one at a time) • Bosch Washer and Dryer - for you to use - we like to reserve that for guests who stay for 3 nights or longer - being kind to the world too, we try to use cold water as well where possible. • Keyed Private elevator entrance directly into Loft - of course you have your own key (or stairs if u have the energy - does not seem so popular, strangely) • Printer / Scanner available. Pens and paper too, if you are a traditionalist.(although we draw the line at camel hair brushes, I'm sure you understand). And there is a universal power adapter for you to use to charge your gadgets too. • The building is a very smart development, a recently renovated 7-story apartment block with original brick facade, great views of the city skyline. Quiet, lovely, village feel, with parks and pedestrian areas just outside, but close enough to get anywhere very easily. I think I am allowed to say it is authentic. • This is a very large and comfortable space that you will be free to enjoy as you wish (this is your vacation after all). You will have lots of privacy and as well as the city, you have Books, Music (great as mentioned above), Roku TV with lots of channels and an online DVR and more .... or just relax and chat. Up to you. We provide the following publications too New York Times New York Magazine so you can feel a bit like a New Yorker • Located in the heart of Downtown - food (some of the best in the city), drink, fun, shopping all very, very close. A very cool residential neighborhood just a short trip to all the action. Perfect location for exploring both sides of the river too, as very close to Brooklyn and Williamsburg. One of the most historic neighborhoods in the U.S. (perhaps the most). We are only a few minutes away from the walkway along the East River, it has a great view of the Brooklyn bridge and Manhattan Bridge. Nearly opposite the Tenement Museum (which is really great). TV, Film and general interest media all the time (become a star - or an extra anyway) ,music clubs and comedy left right and center and Alphabet City, Ludlow Street , East Village, Chinatown and Soho all in spitting distance - and I can not spit far. Direct Access to cabs just outside building. • Food shopping wise, it is 3 blocks from a Whole Foods and a couple of blocks from the Essex Street Market. Great food shopping if you want. I hope everything is covered - email if you need more information. I hope to see you soon and I hope I can be part of your visit to this unique place.
Best neighborhood in Manhattan for independent coffee shops, cozy wine bars, up-and-coming restaurants (the area has 4 out of the top 10 best places to eat in this years NY magazine list) , intimate music venues, and interesting owner-operated shops. Like no other area in the city. A very peaceful cool neighborhood, yet just a short trip to all the action. Check out the "Guidebook" with my listing -- I send a much longer one that I have written directly to guests that do decide to stay before they get here - and they love it, mention it often in their reviews and keep asking for extra copies!!
  • Staying with my Girlfriend at Carol's and Mark's was absolutely perfect! Even so we were only staying overnight, Carol was very kind and from the moment I first contacted her, she made sure we knew how to get there with ease, and she made absolutely no trouble to let us leave our luggage many hours before check-in time at her apartment so we could walk around Manhattan without our travel weight. Apartment is gorgeous, located 2 minutes from the nearest subway station, very accesible to anything you would want to visit in Manhattan. Carol's very detailed guide was also amazingly well done and helpful. The room is very spacious, bed is big and comfortable, Tv works and looks great. The room itself has big windows with excellent views and direct access to a very beautiful terrace. The room was also very, very clean and the attention to details, from the way you get your clean towels to the beautiful decorations make it a 5 star Hotel experience. Bathroom is also huge, very clean and has everything and more than what you could wish for, ranging from Soap and Shampoo to Afterburn-lotion and relaxation-candles. And the best part is that you have the bathroom for yourself, no sharing whatsoever. And I can't stretch enough how clean and new everything is. Internet connection is great all over the apartment and is very fast. but by far the best thing about this apartment are Carol and Mark themselves. They are one of the kindest couples I've ever met and even though we only stayed overnight, they made us feel right at home. Both of them are very well-spoken, helpful and accommodating. Carol speaks flawless Spanish which also helped when my girlfriend and I had trouble finding the correct way to say something in English, and Mark's just a delight to listen and speak to. They even let us, once again, leave the luggage at their apartment for the whole next day, way past check out hours, and left us the keys to their apartment until late in the night when we were actually departing. Both my girlfriend and I just wish we had more time to spend in NYC just to get to know Carol and Mark better. If I ever go back to Manhattan rest assure this will be my top choice to stay in, and I really do hope I get the opportunity to do so. Would definitely recommend to anyone. 10/10

  • This is the place to stay if you are visiting New York. The location is perfect!! You can catch the D subway to Central Park or Empire State Building. Right outside their door you can catch the M15 bus to the Ferry and see the Statue of Liberty or take the bus to the Freedom Tower/911 Memorial. If you need help Carol will be right there to assist you in getting on the right train or subway. Her husband Mark will hold you in great conversations and they know where all the good restaurant and bars are for you to try. Take the doughnut recommendation! These are extremely good people making your stay enjoyable and relaxing. The room has your own TV which is nice for relaxing and the queen sized bed is comfortable. The room has a balcony, we enjoyed sitting out their with a book and drink. You also have your own private bath with a large shower. If we are ever in New York this is where we will stay. You can not find nicer host than this who make you feel comfortable and help guide you around the city. You will not be disappointed staying here.

  • We felt very welcome and accommodated for during our stay (we were even included on Christmas Day!). We loved having random little chats with both Carol and Marc. They also gave us great advice. The apartment is very comfortable and funky. It's location is great; very close to the subway/attractions, but not too busy. A perfect base to explore NYC!

  • My girlfriend and I had an excellent stay in this apartment during our recent visit to NYC. We felt truly at home - Carol and Marc were fantastic hosts and the apartment was spectacular (very modern, neat, great location) and we would not hesitate to come back again during our next trip! My NYC stay wouldn't have been perfect without staying here! Looking forward to the next time!

Cozy, warm atmosphere, perfect for the traveler looking for a real NY experience. This reservation is for one person. If you want to book for 2 guests it is an extra $100 per night. Best neighborhood in midtown Manhattan for the best price. In the hub of Hell's Kitchen nightlife, restaurants, theaters, museums.
Bedroom is small, but very comforting. Kitchen is HUGE with tons of sunlight and every spice you can imagine for all you chefs. Very easy going apartment- smoking is perfectly fine. Part of the apartment is an art workshop. Bathroom is large with skylight. Apartment is in back of the building, so the apartment is very quiet. An oasis in midtown. This reservation is for one guest.
Hell's kitchen is THE center of the entire city. Some of the best and affordable restaurants in the city, with any type of cuisine you could want. The apartment is walk able to virtually any subway line in the city. The neighborhood is in the center of the arts, with Times Square, Broadway theaters, and Central Park a stone's throw away. • Jeffrey is an excellent host and it was a pleasure to stay with him in NYC over Labor Day weekend. He was very helpful during my stay - directions from the airport, showing me around Hell's Kitchen, advice on what to see and do - and accommodating. The apartment is in a wonderful location, accessible to all that Manhattan and NYC has to offer, and is a great place to come back to at the end of a long day. One of the best parts of the stay was Jeffrey himself. He's a true native New Yorker and knows his stuff, but is also great fun to hang out and talk with. Thanks for the breakfasts and conversations, Jeffrey - see you next time!

This is a comfortable studio apartment with exposed brick that has a true city feeling. This studio has a newly renovate bathroom and kitchen with stain steel appliances. The space fits four and is centrally located on a Historic quiet street. This unit is loaded with cable and wifi. Just blocks away from public transportation A and G train lines. And minutes away from the bus route B25 B26 and the B44. Come and explore the charm of Bed-Stuy and all the Historic's. I love this neighborhood. !
This historic section of Brooklyn is home to some of the most magnificent brownstones streets in the world, with charming architectural landmarks. There so many new restaurants and bars popping up in the area such as Peaches,Hot house,Royals, Saraghina, and Gallery.
  • We spent one week in Michelle's appartment in October. The appartment was clean and fit with the description. It's about 30min from downtown New York but on an express train station so we didn't faced any problem to get to the apartment even late at night. Michelle was easy to contact and respond very quickly wich is very convenient. I definitly recommand this apartment.

Deli on every corner, juice spots, coffee, and late night bites around the area. Trains to downtown manhattan are accessible. Tv, wifi, couch, kitchen, and bathroom. Perfect space for a couple or someone traveling on their own.

Grace was a fabulous host. Steve and I got lost on our way and arrived very late. Grace was welcoming despite the late arrival and was assisting us in getting to her place. The space itself is roomy and private feeling despite the apartment being shared. We had the best night sleep here during our entire week long trip. The space is quiet although in the city. We highly recommend staying with Grace. Carla and Steve.

David and Janet were very welcoming and accommodating especially with our late arrival. We appreciate David hanging out til we arrived and made sure we got to our room okay. Thank you for always being available to communicate with if we had any questions or additional delays. We enjoyed learning about sustainability in New York and the history of building the container. The area was safe and secure and the Airbnb was just like the pictures. We hope to come back again when we return to Williamsburg.
