Location, location, location! Large, classy, timeless, comfortable, entire top floor with private entrance in our private house out of a 1890's novel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn one block from the East River. So easy to get to Manhattan by subway, ferry, cab or even foot, and all the best places in the "Burg" Wifi/cableTV/air/heat. (We stay in our separate floor below you never compromising your privacy!)
Perfect location on the Northside Williamsburg, Brooklyn Waterfront scene, my place is a wood beamed classic, with hard wood floors and restored original brick wall. It is the top floor of a 1894 restored house on a very nice semi residential street block. The nicely outfitted place, "the country in the sky" as I refer to it, has a beautiful totally functional "Peerless" antique prewar stove for cooking, generous amounts of pots, a wood burning fire place and a full size refrigerator in the kitchen. The feelings are cozy, warm, cabin like yet elegant. The kitchen and living room are in the same open area. There is a dining room table that seats 4, a beautiful brand new couch that folds down to become a very comfortable queen size bed that sleeps 2. Beyond the living area is the large master bedroom with a queen size bed that sleeps 2 with a large antique dresser and 2 riverside windows. Off the master bedroom is a large tiled classic bathroom with an antique skylight and large tub with shower, and a small bedroom with a twin size bed and riverside window that is nice as a separate rest area, a great place for a child to sleep, or an out of sight room to put your luggage and things. My location is beyond great and safe. 10 minutes maximum in a cab or car service over the Williamsburg Bridge and you are in Manhattan. It is a short walk (3 min) to the North 6th Street East River Ferry ( the scenic quick river route to Midtown Manhattan or lower Manhattan, please check schedules). Subways: L train ( gray line): First stop in Brooklyn, only one stop to Manhattan and a neat 10 minute walk from my place going by shops, restaurants and street vendors to the very frequent Northside L train subway stop at Bedford Ave and North 7 St, (Everything you want to pick up to take back to my place is on Bedford Ave or Kent Avenue which are the walking routes to the subway. (Among the small shops, restaurants and bars, there is now a "Whole Foods" supermarket and a Iphone store on Bedford!) The JM subway that goes over the Williamsburg Bridge with wonderful views of the river and NYC skyline to lower Manhattan (Chinatown etc), is a little further (13 min walk ) through the South Side. After a night out in the neighborhood, you will find this quiet, comfortable, timeless place to come home to that is the top floor of a restored Williamsburg house. All East River parks are a short walk away with their spectacular river and skyline views. During the warm months the weekend flea/food markets down Kent Avenue/North 8 on weekends are fun and back dropped by the river and Manhattan skyline. Grand Street River Park is only a block and a half away. I love going there in the mornings with a cup of tea and taking in the NYC view. The quaint restaurants and music clubs are amazing and abundant, the "Williamsburg Foodtown" Market has all the groceries you need and frankly the only reason I would leave the "Burg" would be to go to a museum, St. Patrick's, Grand Central's Oyster Bar or ice skating at Rockerfeller Center. Indoor Flea Market on North 7th right off Kent Ave, "Mast Brothers Chocolate" on North 3rd off Berry, "Beer Garden" restaurant lunch, dinner, brunch with live music on Friday nights on North 3rd and Berry, "Sea" restaurant (Thai) on North 6, "Sweet Water" (Bistro) restaurant on North 6, "Dumont Burger" for awesome burgers on Bedford between South 2-3, "Aurora" (Northern Italian) with great brunches, lunches and dinners is right around the corner as is "Coxley's" sport bar with 40 beers on tap and great chicken wings on Grand St. "Teddy's" rest and bar (American Bistro) on North 8, a landmark that serves brunch, lunch and dinner and also has music sometimes at night, and the "Knitting Factory" music performance space and bar is 6 blocks away on Metropolitan. The best NY steak house, "Peter Luger's" reservations only, is in the vicinity. The floor is divided in 4 areas: upon entering you are in the kitchen and living, dining room with a wall and door that separates this space from the large bedroom in the front, the large tiled bathroom and the smaller front bedroom. The living area can easily convert to a sleeping area for 2. The place is adorable and sleeps four comfortably. Much quieter than most places in the area. Heat, air conditioning, wifi, fine linens/towels and kitchen utensils are provided for my guest. Full laundry drop off service and dry cleaners is available a couple of blocks up the street at "Berry Cleaners" or 302 Bedford Ave. My personal assistant/butler and I will check with you on your arrival time, hand over keys and be close at hand for anything you need during your stay. I and my husband are on our private lower floor of the house.
The neighborhood feels like a small village. It is very safe and has such a mixture of different foods, cultures, and restaurants. The Manhattan skyline views along Kent Ave can get no better and the wonderful Pier off North 5 on a Sunday afternoon is full of families, tourist and the occasional fisherman. During the warmer months there are outdoor flea markets and food markets of North 8 on the East River side. Bedford Avenue (3 blocks away) on the North and South side is filled with non chain restaurants, bars and shops.
  • This is a lovely apartment. Great location, great view. Maria and Azul were extremely friendly and helpful. I couldn't agree more with the other positive comments posted. I plan on staying here every time I'm back in the city.

  • What an awesome spot. We had a great time and had all of our needs, requests, and emergencies handled. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

  • We all loved our Williamsburg 'home'. The light, the wood & the very comfy bed. It's a very laid-back neighbourhood with loads of great coffee shops, bars & restaurants. Maria was a very generous long-distance host, & Azul a very helpful on-the-spot one. Best of all was the daily 'commute' by the East River Ferry, great views & a lovely way to begin & end the day away from the heat of Manhattan.

    Rachel2014-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most wonderful time staying in Maria's apartment. We walked in tired and exhausted from our journey from Australia and were greeted by soft lamp lights and warm earthy tones of the decor - it felt like being at home from the first minute. It is warm and cosy when it was cold outdoors and the location just perfect being just a short stroll to the subway station, supermarket coffee shops etc. Azul helped us during our stay with anything we needed and he is truly a wonderful guy. After a busy day seeing the sights of Manhattan we so enjoyed the quiet walk home from the subway station through the local neighbourhood. We felt safe at all times and highly recommend this as a place to stay whilst in New York. Thanks Maria, Greg and Azul!!

  • Great location. Steps away from new riverfront park. Quaint and comfortable space.

    Cami2018-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect spot for a base in Williamsburg, the neighbourhood is great. Short walk to the riverfront for a great view of Manhattan. Subway easy to get to straight into midtown. Fast response from Maria to any queries we had. Would definitely recommend.

  • All the great reviews of this fabulous place were true. The process, the place, the host and the atmosphere combined to make staying at this lovely apartment a must do if you’re wanting to explore Brooklyn.

Downtown, the best bit of Manhattan. One of, if not the, LARGEST space on Airbnb in NYC. Your Own PRIVATE Bathroom & PRIVATE Bedroom, a Terrace off the bedroom, near to subways/buses, restaurants, bars, real luxury right in the middle of things. Just read our 400+ 5-STAR REVIEWS and you will see why we are SUPER-HOSTS and why you will just love this place, like other guests, I promise. Si, hablo bien espanol, Français parlé assez bien.
Downtown Manhattan, .. just like you see it in the films. Only so much better in real life !! All the details are below so that will see all that you will experience on your trip to the Big Apple - there are lots of things you will love when you stay here, but PLEASE PLEASE (did I say please?) try to read all the way to the end of the description, including sleeping arrangements, information on the area, getting around and the frequently asked questions. I know it is a bit of a novel, but it is well worth it and, from experience, it makes sure you understand everything in detail and ensures you will have the best stay that you can. Anything at all that you are not sure about, if you are new to Airbnb for example, just ask and I will get back asap and clarify. • Very spacious loft apartment ( about 2000 sq feet, 188 sq m, at last measure - so very BIG for New York) in the center of arguably the coolest area of the city (please do not argue ), modern, minimalist furniture , very open, very clean, I take great pride in having a spotless living environment (that goes for the host too). A Massive space that gets flooded with light via a wall of windows. Just take a look at the pictures. High security. Walking distance to subways & museums. Friendly building and very safe neighborhood. • Your own PRIVATE bathroom - Large, spacious, with Jacuzzi Bath, Shower, Hairdryer, Kohler fixtures. Fresh towels etc. Fully-stocked. All the shampoo and things you will ever need. Just for you. • Your own PRIVATE bedroom - Queen Bed for 2, firm and soft pillows for every type of sleeper, linens, towels, Large Flat Screen TV, Netflix, Amazon TV etc, Wardrobe. Again only for you. • Large kitchen - Open concept with an area to eat and with everything you need to design a gourmet feast, top of the line GE appliances, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle , Dishwasher, stainless steel counter top etc. Make any food you want - if it is really good, give me some. Make coffee there in the morning - always available -- you have your very own little coffee bar. • Very large living area, Real Fireplace, WiFi, Surround sound HDTV with HDMI hook-up and Roku TV, Bose sound system with iPhone/iPod hook-up, the best choice in music (in my opinion, most not consulted). Sit.... Enjoy • Large dining area - seats lots, great views over the city and over the Williamsburg Bridge. Eat foods mentioned above (probably while seated, although one can never be sure). • Natural brick walls (as opposed to unnatural I suppose) and a lovely Merbeau wooden floor, both of which look good (but don't say much). • Floor to ceiling windows throughout - bathed in sun (when the sun is out, mainly, of course) • Outside secluded seating area and balcony - you access directly from your room - very secluded (sometimes I cannot find it) • Full air conditioning / heating in the room and in rest of loft - be hot, be cool (most likely one at a time) • Bosch Washer and Dryer - for you to use - we like to reserve that for guests who stay for 3 nights or longer - being kind to the world too, we try to use cold water as well where possible. • Keyed Private elevator entrance directly into Loft - of course you have your own key (or stairs if u have the energy - does not seem so popular, strangely) • Printer / Scanner available. Pens and paper too, if you are a traditionalist.(although we draw the line at camel hair brushes, I'm sure you understand). And there is a universal power adapter for you to use to charge your gadgets too. • The building is a very smart development, a recently renovated 7-story apartment block with original brick facade, great views of the city skyline. Quiet, lovely, village feel, with parks and pedestrian areas just outside, but close enough to get anywhere very easily. I think I am allowed to say it is authentic. • This is a very large and comfortable space that you will be free to enjoy as you wish (this is your vacation after all). You will have lots of privacy and as well as the city, you have Books, Music (great as mentioned above), Roku TV with lots of channels and an online DVR and more .... or just relax and chat. Up to you. We provide the following publications too New York Times New York Magazine so you can feel a bit like a New Yorker • Located in the heart of Downtown - food (some of the best in the city), drink, fun, shopping all very, very close. A very cool residential neighborhood just a short trip to all the action. Perfect location for exploring both sides of the river too, as very close to Brooklyn and Williamsburg. One of the most historic neighborhoods in the U.S. (perhaps the most). We are only a few minutes away from the walkway along the East River, it has a great view of the Brooklyn bridge and Manhattan Bridge. Nearly opposite the Tenement Museum (which is really great). TV, Film and general interest media all the time (become a star - or an extra anyway) ,music clubs and comedy left right and center and Alphabet City, Ludlow Street , East Village, Chinatown and Soho all in spitting distance - and I can not spit far. Direct Access to cabs just outside building. • Food shopping wise, it is 3 blocks from a Whole Foods and a couple of blocks from the Essex Street Market. Great food shopping if you want. I hope everything is covered - email if you need more information. I hope to see you soon and I hope I can be part of your visit to this unique place.
Best neighborhood in Manhattan for independent coffee shops, cozy wine bars, up-and-coming restaurants (the area has 4 out of the top 10 best places to eat in this years NY magazine list) , intimate music venues, and interesting owner-operated shops. Like no other area in the city. A very peaceful cool neighborhood, yet just a short trip to all the action. Check out the "Guidebook" with my listing -- I send a much longer one that I have written directly to guests that do decide to stay before they get here - and they love it, mention it often in their reviews and keep asking for extra copies!!

  • This is a fabulous place to stay - a real home from home. Marc met us on arrival and was very helpful with local information and was full of anecdotes about both the UK and USA. The room was a great size, wardrobe huge and the bed so so comfortable and is exactly as described - the balcony is accessed from the bedroom. Having a huge bathroom was great - the jacuzzi bath is just the thing after a long day pounding the streets. It was equipped with toiletries in case you forget anything. Nice large towels provided We were out a lot so didn't make use of the shared living space much, but it is large and comfortable and Marc & Carol very welcoming and easy to chat to. The area is very safe and a short walk to the subway - great coffee shops nearby lots of great places to eat. We will definitely stay here again on our next New York trip. Many thanks for sharing your amazing home with us.

  • Fantastic location, amazing apartment and wonderful hosts! This place really is as good as everyone says. Carol and Marc go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable and are a really lovely couple to get to know. The apartment is in an ideal position to explore the lower east side (and the rest of New York) and such a nice, clean and relaxing space to come back and rest in after a busy day.

    Kelly2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay! Carol may be one of the nicest and most gracious ladies I have ever met. The loft and room are spectacular and I could not have felt more comfortable during my weekend stay. The personal touch of freindliness is not to be underplayed as I was on a stressfull business trip and the hosts's amazing and fun attitude took the edge off enough for me to me successfull in my meetimgs!

  • We felt very welcome and accommodated for during our stay (we were even included on Christmas Day!). We loved having random little chats with both Carol and Marc. They also gave us great advice. The apartment is very comfortable and funky. It's location is great; very close to the subway/attractions, but not too busy. A perfect base to explore NYC!

    Carolyn2015-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Convivial, congenial company combined with classy yet comfortable accommodation! We loved our time at Carol and Marc's and would unreservedly recommend it. The location is terrific, close to subway, sights, wining and dining. 10/10!

  • What can I say here that hasn't already been said many times before. From the moment we made the booking Carol (& Marc) were brilliant, great communication and fabulous advice for both local and NYC wide places to eat & see. Great information on arriving from JFK, made our journey very easy. When we arrived at the apartment, it is everything you expect from the photos shown on AirBnB, very clean, tidy, well presented, details as described (own bathroom, bedroom & pretty much your own lounge). The location couldn't have been better 2 minute walk to the F line and easy access to NYC. Both Marc & Carol welcomed us into their home and were chatty, friendly and helpful, more than we could have wished for. Great advice for local places to eat and enjoy the atmosphere rather than going to the "chain" type cafes & restaurants. I will have no hesitation in booking again with Carol & Marc when returning to NYC - just wish they could have made the city a little warmer for our stay!!!

    Stuart2015-02-24T00:00:00Z
Einfach perfekt! 100% Empfehlungsfaktor!

Cozy, warm atmosphere, perfect for the traveler looking for a real NY experience. This reservation is for one person. If you want to book for 2 guests it is an extra $100 per night. Best neighborhood in midtown Manhattan for the best price. In the hub of Hell's Kitchen nightlife, restaurants, theaters, museums.
Bedroom is small, but very comforting. Kitchen is HUGE with tons of sunlight and every spice you can imagine for all you chefs. Very easy going apartment- smoking is perfectly fine. Part of the apartment is an art workshop. Bathroom is large with skylight. Apartment is in back of the building, so the apartment is very quiet. An oasis in midtown. This reservation is for one guest.
Hell's kitchen is THE center of the entire city. Some of the best and affordable restaurants in the city, with any type of cuisine you could want. The apartment is walk able to virtually any subway line in the city. The neighborhood is in the center of the arts, with Times Square, Broadway theaters, and Central Park a stone's throw away. A vibrant nightlife and artist community with a neighborhood feel. Anything you're looking for is here!
  • Jeffrey was a great host to me - helped me with my luggage up the stairs on arrival and departure, and he is very accommodating - happy to be as involved or not as you wish in giving you a lovely stay in New York. He is a true native New Yorker and very knowledgable. He talked me through all the different neighbourhoods, and he even very kindly walked round the east village with me to show me all the boutique vintage stores :) He also makes a mean breakfast, and had iced coffee and iced tea to hand at all times when I'd come in looking for some solace from the humidity! Great host, great location and I had a fab stay - thank you Jeffrey!

    Kate2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is located in the heart of Manhattan which makes very easy to visit all the things from the tourist guides. Almost everything is in walking distance and the subway is also very close if you want go to the Downtown or to Brooklyn (It took 35 mins for me.) If you you have questions about NYC you can ask Jeffrey who is very helpful. The room is not too big but enough for two persons and clean. Unfortunately the building has no elevator so I don't offer the apartment for small girls with big suitcases without a strong man.

  • Jeffrey makes my very first airbnb experience so Memorable! He's so attentive and is ready to help if needed. He makes me feel at ease and the place is such a cute loft. It's something you would see in the Pinterest. Did I mentioned he had amazing ice coffee recipe? Highly recommend his place and especially if you want to taste the famous ice coffee.

  • Jeffrey was fantastic to stay with. I haven't spent too much time in NYC, and he was helpful at every step of the process from finding his place, learning the subway, recommending things to do, and more. Highly recommended.

  • To live in Newyork and to live with Jeffry for seven days, has been great! The room is small, but it is everything you need, the room is quiet and the bed is large and comfortable. The appartment is placed at a central spot, and the neighborhood has everything you could wish for. Jeffry is the best, kindest and most helpsome host you could have. It has been a huge pleasue to live with him!

    Lotte2015-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • As this was my first airbnb-experience I didn't exactly know what to expect and I am totally overwhelmed still by Jeffreys friendliness, hepfullness and way of making people feel welcome in his home. I had two absolutely awesome days within his tiny artisty appartment that is located absolutely perfectly, but the best about it has been the host itself! Thank you Jeffrey for all our talks, for the wonderful breakfast and waking up to the smell of delicious coffee! There will be definitely more desert!!!!

    Carolin2016-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • I felt welcomed by Jeffery the entire time I stayed with him. Jeffery was a most gracious host and a very creative and fun person to hang out with. I am grateful I found his artist experience space to be most comfortable.

This is a comfortable studio apartment with exposed brick that has a true city feeling. This studio has a newly renovate bathroom and kitchen with stain steel appliances. The space fits four and is centrally located on a Historic quiet street. This unit is loaded with cable and wifi. Just blocks away from public transportation A and G train lines. And minutes away from the bus route B25 B26 and the B44. Come and explore the charm of Bed-Stuy and all the Historic's. I love this neighborhood. !
This historic section of Brooklyn is home to some of the most magnificent brownstones streets in the world, with charming architectural landmarks. There so many new restaurants and bars popping up in the area such as Peaches,Hot house,Royals, Saraghina, and Gallery.
  • I am a fairly frequent AirBnB traveler. Michelle’s home was top notch and all communication with her was 100%. My wife and I felt like locals in this space. It was about a 10 minute walk to the train that took us into Manhattan. Take the express and it’s pretty fast. The neighborhood is totally residential. Easy parking on street. Another reviewer mentioned some noise from neighbors. We did not have any issues at all. I would definitely stay again.

    David2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice B.B. As described and Michele was a great communicator, very helpful

    Mary2017-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • The host was excellent and helped us with all that was needed. Although she had family health issues, she still made time for us. Trains and buses just minutes away. Just make sure to prepare yourselves for the very cold outdoors. Wear the right clothings as it could get very nasty. One word of advise. Avoid small grocers such as the one in the coner just seconds away from the apartment as they will rob you alive. They do not give you an itemized bill. They just give you a random price to pay as they will know you are foreign. You buy a few things today and they charge you one price. You buy the very same things the next day, and they will charge you differently. When you ask for the itemised bill, they start talking to each other with their own language. Insulting me for all I know. Other then that, I recommend the apartment and the host.

  • Michelle was a great host and the place was awesome!

    Nigel2018-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Michelle's Studio was the best we've had so far through the portal. Michelle went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was comfortable- it never felt like we were guests, we were treated as friends. The house is very well equipped (new kitchen appliances, bathroom fixtures, etc.) and spotless. The apartment is well located- lots of shops and restaurants in the vicinity, and the subway station is about a 7-8 minute walk away. If you're planning to hang around Manhattan-Brooklyn, and want a warm and comfy environment to stay in, Michelle's home is definitely the place to book.

I had a very good experience with my stay. The apartment was very clean. I did not see the hosts often but when I did they were very nice. I felt like I had alot of privacy which is hard to achieve when you are staying in someone's home.

Sne's place was awesome. Absolutely GREAT location, right by a bunch of great restaurants, really close to the subway, and in a really cool neighborhood (East Village). The apartment is clean and easy to get to, the room is plenty spacious, and the shower had great water pressure. Sne himself was an awesome host. He's incredibly friendly and outgoing, plus very flexible, allowing us to drop off our luggage before check in and pick it up well after check out. He had also put together a pamphlet of restaurant recommendations and other useful info, which was really helpful. Sne has great taste in food, and the two recommendations of his that we checked out (Luke's Lobster and Tuck Shop) were both delicious. He also made us coffee in the morning and offered us some beers at night. Basically, he's the perfect AirBnB host. I would definitely stay at Sne's place again next time I'm in NYC. This was one of the best AirBnB experiences I've had. 5 stars. Highly recommended.
