Unique hand built cob cottage next to lg. pond w water feature. Lg. fenced and gated yard. Gentle, curving space-made from sand, straw, water and earth . Featured in multiple international publications. The floor is also earthen clay with added radiant heat. Beautiful natural light. It's truly a magical place.
It's a curvilinear earthen structure hand sculpted from water, sand, straw, and clay earth. It features a radial roof with a central pagoda-like skylight. When building the Cob, we used reclaimed and natural materials when ever possible. The insulation in the ceiling is made from pulverized reclaimed blue jeans and the floor is made from the same earthen clay. It has a Dutch door, so you can open the top part for additional ventilation. It also has air conditioning available in the warmer months and a radiant heat floor. The bed is a very comfortable double with a memory foam mattress topper. The bathroom for the cottage is in the main house, about 40 steps to the back door. Inside you’ll find a large sitting room and full kitchen as well as your bath with claw foot tub and shower. These spaces are shared with 2 Airbnb rooms in the house. If you find the bath busy, our full bath is available upstairs on the second floor.
We are located in a sweet older neighborhood in inner SE Portland, built around the turn of the century. The neighborhood is extremely walkable/bikeable, and just two blocks from one of Portland's great restaurant rows, filled with unique locally owned restaurants, coffeehouses, bars, food carts, pot shops, ice cream vendors, pizza joints, clothing retailers, yoga studios and yes, even an old-school hardware store.
  • This place is great! Amazing place to stay in. We would love to experience the cob cottage in nicer weather. The location was perfect, close to some really great food (Pok Pok & Roman Candle to name a few) and Division street seems like the place to be! Jack and Cris were very accommodating and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a uniquely enjoyable stay in Portland!

  • Beautiful setting and great access to great food and drink.

    Keegan2017-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Easy check-in, central Portland location. Cute place, good for a couple. It was unorthodox to have the bathroom in the main house, but that was clear in the description. It's a small space, but cute. Wish we could have parked a bit closer for luggage and such, but overall not a bad place.

    Michael2016-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing! The property was gorgeous and serene and the inside was cozy and comfy. The owners were so nice and accommodating. Bed was super comfy. I will definitely be back next time I visit PDX. The neighborhood is walking distance to my favorite part of Portland.

  • I loved this place so very much! I kept making my friends drop me off or pick me up so they could see the glorious tiny hobbit house. I loved the waterfall & the fish in the pond, and the resident kitties were so very friendly! Mundane informative stuff: everything was clean, it was super quiet at night, the bathroom & sitting room were cute and well-stocked. Would absolutely come back and will be recommending it!

    Kelly2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great neighborhood! Walkable to many cute shops and restaurants.

    Emily2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jack was awesome! He was kind and welcoming the moment we came to their place. We are still in awe of his awesome cob! He passionately talked about the process, the history behind the cob and how they've previously used this space for the community. This cob was magical reminded us of the Hobbit Hole from Lord of the Rings. We would love to stay here again in the future. My boyfriend left a shirt he just purchased in Portland, and Jack so kindly offered to help mail back to us in Canada. I thought that was so sweet of them to help out! We would love to stay here again Thank you Jack and Cris!!

    Jen2016-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is THE spot to stay at if you're visiting Portland! Aside from the quiet coziness of the hut, there's so many great places within walking distance to eat and drink at. Jack was also available to greet us when we arrived in the dead of night and offer great recommendations, as well as show us the facilities. We loved the experience and would definitely stay again!

This quaint 1 bedroom furnished apt. is located downstairs in our historic brick English tutor home. It has a separate key, private entrance, and courtyard. The space is well-lit with two windows and has a back door to a beautiful garden and patio in the backyard as well as a side door to the courtyard. The location is Laurelhurst - one of Portland's oldest and most beautiful planned communities on a quiet, tree lined street within 10 minutes of the city and 15 min. from the airport. Major shopping, wonderful restaurants and one of Portland's most beautiful parks are all within walking distance. This ideal location is only two blocks from a major bus line and 5 blocks from the MAX train. It is also within walking distance of favorite east side shopping and dining areas, including Hawthorne, Belmont and 28th street. When you enter this mid-century decorated apartment you will immediately feel at home! You will find a comfortable queen sized bed, overstuffed chair and desk with the latest mesh technology wireless internet, flat screen TV with cable, Blu-ray CD player, a collection of movies in the bedroom. The newly tiled bathroom has a tub and shower and, although there is not a separate "living room", the kitchen and pantry is fully furnished with everything you may need to make your own meals if you choose (i.e. microwave, gas stove, refrigerator, blender, coffee maker, dishes, pots/pans, spices, condiments, etc.). Other amenities include a private courtyard, washer/dryer in the apt., and easy walking distance to bus, train, restaurants and shopping. More information on our historic home can be found on Oregon Encyclopedia website. Search for "Brick House Beautiful". Our home has also been in "Better Home and Gardens" magazine and has been twice on the cover of "Old House Journal". If we are home when you arrive, we will be happy to give you a tour of our home and offer you a cup of tea or a glass of wine while you have complete access to our English gardens, courtyard and barbecue during your stay. We think you will be pleased if you choose to stay in the "Quaint English Garden Apartment " located in our beautiful historic home!
Laurelhurst is an historic old Portland neighborhood with beautiful homes, street trees and a huge park a few blocks away designed by the Olmsted's who designed Central Park in NYC. You will see how homes in Laurelhurst are each very different and unique from craftsmen with large porches to smaller bungalows with beautiful gardens.
  • The basement apartment was very cozy. We loved the retro decorations.

    Audrey2016-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely experience in Portland. The cottage is well situated for access by car into the central city, north and south on the East Side, and US 84 east into the Columbia River Gorge. There is a lovely front patio and a back garden with a fountain. The shared space is downstairs, just off the garden, with its own entrance. We ate out most of the time, but the kitchen has everything you need for cooking in if you want. We enjoyed the spaces inside and out for morning coffee and a bagel. The bedroom has a very comfortable bed and plenty of storage space for clothes. The bathroom is large and well appointed. The neighborhood is one of the best in Portland, quiet, pretty, a safe place to take walks. Parking was always easy in front of the house. A peaceful place to be after a busy day, in preparation for a fun evening out.

    Richard2015-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house and a very nice area. We stayed in the basement apartment which was decorated like a cottage. The bed was the MOST comfortable that we ever slept in. In fact so comfortable that we have ordered a memory foam mattress topper for our bed at home. Even though the weather was very cold and we were in the finished basement we were never cold. The bathroom is roomy and very nicely finished. There is also a washer and a dryer which was great as we were there a week. The kitchen is so cute with it vintage appliances and red cherry vintage linens, plus Fiestaware dishes. The outside area is a gardener's delight with lots of seating area. There is also a egress window for safety.

    Nancy2014-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about our stay was wonderful. The place is lovely! Check in and out smooth as could be! Clean, neat and cute!! Loved having a washer and dryer.

  • We had a lovely stay. The description of the "Quaint English Cottage Apt" was perfect and the apt lived up to our expectations. It is delightfully furnished in period appliances from the fifties with dishes and furnishings to match. At Sue and Bob suggestion we tired the neighborhood and local park, and my wife and both agreed that pleasant stroll with the diverse architecture was a highlight of our stay. The cottage is very convienently located for both downtown excursions and exploring the east side of Portland. The bed was super comfy! Our visit was in January so we missed the lovely garden area in its full glory, but even so it felt so English! We plan on returning in the early summer so that we can enjoy sitting in the garden in the evening.

    James2015-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Sue and Bob's Quaint English Cottage in Portland. Sue and Bob are the most fantastic hosts! Two of the kindest people you'll ever meet who go out of their way to make sure you feel at home and comfortable. The cottage is gorgeous! We loved our stay and wish we could have stayed longer. The bed is super comfy, the kitchen is beautifully decorated and has everything you need (and more - even a blender!) to cook a full meal and the bathroom is impeccable - great shower with solid, hot water and a bath for relaxing. We also loved the garden surrounding Sue and Bob's beautiful property - it looks and smells wonderful! Sue and Bob are two very special people who really know how to host guests. Thank you so much for everything, both of you, you made our first few days in Portland very memorable! An absolutely top notch, brilliant experience!

    Amanda2015-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was perfect for our stay in Portland. All of the decorations were so neat and it had all the amenities you could ask for. Bob and Sue were beyond gracious and helpful during our visit and we can't wait to come back and stay again! Thank you!

    Miranda2012-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Bob and Sue were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The apartment was charming and very comfortable. The setup afforded us a great deal of privacy but also allowing us to interact with our hosts. The neighborhood is very beautiful with great walking and things to explore. It is also very well served by bus lines which allowed easy access to downtown Portland. Closer by are several good restaurants, movie theaters, and shopping.

Everything you need is here at our brand new guesthouse loft: a luxurious, lofted queen bedroom; high ceilings with floods of natural light, a modern kitchen, full bath with heated tile, comfy sleeper sofa for extra guests, and Stumptown Coffee with organic cream. The loft rests at the back of the property, one block from bustling Division St, and short blocks from restaurants, coffeeshops, & the Woodsman Tavern, named “One of America’s Best Bars,” by Esquire Magazine.
The loft is located in our backyard in Southeast Portland. While we are only steps away if you need us, the space is very private. In fact, guests report that they forget they are in the middle of the city when they stay in our space! We live in a desirable and fun neighborhood, and parking can be tight! Guests usually find parking within a block of our house. At night or during busy times of the day, parking can be found within two short blocks. Guests may feel free to use our driveway for loading/unloading. We do not have a TV in the guesthouse, but offer excellent wifi access.
Our neighborhood has everything you will need, mostly within a five-minute walk! And if you want to visit a different part of the city, there is convenient public transportation around the corner. Check out excellent coffeeshops blocks away (Good Coffee and Stumptown), delicious and intimate restaurants (Bete Lukas, Mi Mero Mole, The Woodsman), or walk up to Mt. Tabor Park. If you're into yoga, there's an awesome space (Yoga Union) around the corner.
  • Great place! It was super clean and very well located.

  • Beautiful space with all of the comforts of home. We absolutely enjoyed the space and could tell lots of love and care were put into the building of this tiny house. Located within walking distance of great restaurants and watering holes there was plenty to explore. The hosts were very gracious and had lots of great communication. I will certainly stay here next time I'm in Portland. P.S. "GOOD coffee" right around the corner from the house is amazing! Thank you!!

I thought it was odd to mention a Bluetooth speaker, but after using it, I understand why. (Thinking of getting on myself!) Doug and Kim were very helpful and accommodating. Thanks for hosting us!

  • Kim was such an amazing host! She was flexible with my check in time and special needs. The apartment is so beautiful and clean, it's exactly like in the pictures. I didn't have time to explore the area as I spent only one night, but that was the best night I had during my entire trip.

The place was beautifully decorated with modern aesthetics (especially the barn door). We were impressed to find that they built everything in there by themselves! We would definitely stay here again! Thanks Kim and Doug =)

  • If I could give Benjamin 10 stars, I would. His gracious hospitality and attention to detail were clearly a huge priority to him. We felt completely cared for and relaxed in his GORGEOUS home. Beautiful energy came from him and oozed from every wall of his home. I can't wait to come back and stay here again!!!!

    Suzie2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Benjamin was a great host who greeted us upon arrival and gave us great recommendations on where to go/eat in Portland. His home is amazing, very modern, clean and centrally located to all the best food spots, and spots in Portland. Ben provided us with a fully stocked fridge, towels ,tea, and even asked if we would like to use the washer/dryer. The whole space and decor was amazing. I would definetly recommend this place and would consider coming back.

    Charissa2016-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Benjamin was the ultimate host. Communicated on a timely basis and was available for any questions. My wife have travel around the world and we had a great experience with Benjamin. Space was very comfortable, clean and located in a very nice residential area. Highly recommend this property.

    Roland2017-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • My first Airbnb experience so I was a bit worried. Benjamin's house is top notch. I really didn't want to leave his home. Its like staying at a 5 star hotel. I would definetly recommend his place to anyone. If I am ever in Portland again...I am coming back here. Thank you so much Benjamin.

    Jinie2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Five stars across the board. Benjamin was a great host, very friendly, and easy to communicate with during our stay. His house is clean, spacious, and BEAUTIFUL. One of the best AirBnBs in Portland - no doubt.

    Noimee2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Benjamin and his sweet dog Jack are wonderful hosts. I felt very welcomed and comfortable. This modern spanish style house is stunning and newly renovated and designed by Benjamin himself (I want him to design my house). The basement suite was imaculate, cozy and functional. Benjamin even left some snacks and refreshments that were greatly appreciated. He was also kind enough to let me park in the driveway, however, there is plenty of on street parking too. To top it off... I absolutely LOVE this neighborhood! It's truly a great location. Nearby neighborhoods including Alberta, SE/Division/Clinton, and Mississippi are must sees. Don't forget Pips original doughnuts and chai down the road on Fremont. Great experience and I will book again...Only downside is that I couldn't move in permanently!!! Enjoy!

    Heidi2016-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Super helpful host! Thanks Benjamin. We loved our stay from the start to finish! Stunning abode - what a talented designer! We felt like we were living in a home magazine house. Slick, clean and comfortable. Cool lighting system - dimming - and self timed fan. The place was stocked with plenty of linen and amenities. Benjamin left a range of snacks and drinks in the fridge. We enjoyed netflix and the comfy bed. Benjamin was friendly and went above & beyond; keeping in touch via text to see how our stay was and if we wanted any help. He gave us a bunch of fantastic recommendations for restaurants including Clarklewis. Also super kind enough to let us leave our luggage on checkout day to collect later in the afternoon. Thank you so much Benjamin and, also Jack the dog, for such a warm welcome and wonderful hostpitality for our stay in Portland!

Stay in the middle of a restaurant, craft brew, coffee, and Portlandia paradise! This private one bedroom apartment is located in the vibrant Hawthorne District, considered to be one of the best neighborhoods for tourists in the city! It is central to everything! The apt is perfect for solo, couples, and business travelers. I am a food blogger here in Portland, and love sharing my favorite spots in the city. Check out our reviews - our guests share all you need to see before booking! :)
The lower apartment is fresh, clean, modern, new construction with lots of light. We completed our remodel in December 2016 and welcome you as our guest(s). Enjoy a fresh cup of local coffee while sitting by the fireplace. APARTMENT: roughly 700 square feet legal Alternative Dwelling Unit (ADU) in the lower level of our 1911 Bungalow home. Spacious for solo travelers or couples, and can also accommodate up to 4 guests. The apt is under our living space, has sound mitigation, and includes its own entrance, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living area. Brand new concrete floors throughout, with insulation underneath. BEDROOM: new queen bed, next to full bath, fresh sheets, blankets, luggage rack, dresser, night stands, and wall heater. BATHROOM: shower and bathtub, shampoo, soap, lotion, hair dryer, and towels. KITCHEN: full sink, full electric range, range hood, fridge, microwave, basic cookware, glasses/dishes/silverware, and a coffee machine. Everything is new. Perfect for long or short stays. LIVING AREA: futon, television, natural gas and thermostat-controlled fireplace, wifi, Chromecast (allowing you to stream from your Netflix and other Chromecast enabled accounts). The futon folds out to a queen sized bed. SOUND: Our family of 3 lives in the unit above and though well insulated, some noise is audible between floors (not voices or music, but footsteps). We do our best to keep quiet hours between 10:00 PM and 8:30 AM. We also provide a white noise machine that isn't necessary for most guests, but is available. LAUNDRY: your own washer/dryer combo machine is located under the kitchen counter. PARKING: free street parking with no hourly limit. This is a big advantage versus staying downtown. Generally there is ample supply just outside the apt. STAIRS: minimal stairs...just 7 total - 3 up at the front of the house, then 4 down to the apt.
You will be a short walk to eclectic shops, coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants, bars, and parks...all virtually out your front door. 23 out of the top 40 restaurants in Portland (ranked by The Oregonian) are within a 10 minute drive. 11 of the top 40 are within a 5 minute drive. There are over 15 breweries within 10 minute drive. Other nearby highlights include (check our Instagram @airbnb.portland or our Guidebook for more): - Mt. Tabor Park - ~10 minute walk. Beautiful, urban forest park on a dormant volcano, with great views of the Portland skyline. It is a runner/walker's paradise. - Unique shops/restaurants on Belmont, Hawthorne, and Division streets. - Many food options including: Por Que No?, Apizza Scholls, Tabor Bread, Saphire Hotel, and more within a 5 minute walk. Three of Portland's top 5 restaurants in the city are within a 5 minute drive (Coquine #1, Castagna #3, Nodoguro #4 ranked by The Oregonian). - Several great coffee shops are just around the corner including: Albina Press, Groundworks Coffee, and Common Grounds. - Powell's Books in a short walk down Hawthorne. - Grocery Stores: New Seasons, Fred Meyer, and Safeway are all nearby. - Bar/Beer Tasting: Horse Brass Pub, Hawthorne Hophouse. -Cideries: Portland Cider Works. - Breakfast/Brunch: Jam, Trinket, Slappy Cakes, Waffle Window, Bread and Ink. - Food Carts: a few blocks away on Belmont. - Great biking, walking, and transit options. - Our guests love staying here! You will too! :)
  • Hawthorne Haven was amazing! It was clean, cozy, had all the necessities, and had the most delightful, accommodating hosts! Hawthorne is a FUN neighborhood, so I highly recommend this place! The location is blocks away from restaurants, coffee shops, and places for fun or drinks. A short Uber to the city if that's your goal. We devoted an entire day to exploring the city of Hawthorne. Division street, Hawthorne, and Belmont are all walking distance from Blaine and Taylor's. They were happy to give us recommendations and quick to answer my messages when we wanted a new idea because it started raining. Great hosts! Great location! Great place! Can't wait to go back! :-)

  • Cute, clean, quiet basement apartment. Great location for anyone visiting family or friends in the Hawthorne neighborhood. Attentive hosts...

    Thomas2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We visited Portland for the weekend because our friend recently moved to Portland and Blaine's place is right next to her apartment. His place is very clean and exactly what we needed. He always responded very quickly and was easy to communicate with. His place is in a great area with lots of good restaurants around. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks Blaine for everything! We definitely recommend his place.

    Shana2017-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • I recommend staying here, clean and modern. The owner was very helpful and accommodating to our short notice.

  • Excellent place to stay. Quiet yet close to everything you need.

    Michelle2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great, relatively quiet spot close to a lot of nice restaurants, good coffee shops and bars. It's not close to downtown, but we found the 14 bus that runs down Hawthorne very convenient. We had a great stay and it was very clean and comfortable!

    Sylvie2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Blaine's was excellent!

    Anuradha2017-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Blaine's basement apartment is impeccable. He was super responsive, the directions to get in and out were clear, and the location is great. The only thing to note is that the apartment isn't well-insulated. We could hear (presumably) Blaine and his family walking around upstairs—at 7am on a Sunday morning. Nothing a little white noise can't fix, but do be aware!

Make yourself at home in a critically acclaimed ecohouse that's helping define the cutting edge of Portland architecture.
"The 7 Best Airbnb Rentals in Portland, Oregon" -- Travel+Leisure "10 Amazing New Homes" -- Portland Monthly "The Houses That Could Save the World" -- Politico Magazine "Net Zero Success Story" -- Solar Oregon "15 EcoFriendly Airbnbs for under $150" -- GlobeIn "Best Portland Airbnb Rentals" -- News Ledge "Houses that Matter: Inside a Bold New Era of Portland Architecture" -- Portland Monthly "It's Easy Being Green" -- Airbnb Pick ... and Huffington Post listed us as one of the nine "Prettiest Homes in America" alongside Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater and the Hearst Castle. The O2Haus is certified as one of the most energy efficient homes in the world. As a passive house, it is heated primarily by the sun and day-to-day activity. What little energy we use is offset by rooftop solar panels, enabling the home to be net-zero energy. The home has been featured in a variety of publications, as a film set, and on tours. Features include reclaimed shipping crate hardwood floors, innovative indirect lighting, custom fixtures throughout, and twist-and-turn triple-pane windows. A heat-recovery ventilation system delivers fresh, filtered air to each room in the home 24/7/365 (great for those with allergies). The house boasts an extremely comfortable climate free of drafts and hot/cold spots. Amenities include a sunset balcony, lofted dining & living room, modern kitchen with induction stove, heated towel racks, charcoal BBQ, broadband wifi, and garage parking for bicycles. The paver driveway doubles as a patio surrounded by drought-resistant native foliage watered via a rain chain.
Montavilla is one of the top 10 neighborhoods in the country to visit, according to Lonely Planet in 2017. We're at the foot of Mt. Tabor, a forested urban peak that boasts magnificent views of Portland's skyline. Shops and restaurants are a short walk from our quiet street, with delicious draws such as Tanuki, Country Cat, and the best pie in town at Bipartisan Cafe.
  • Garrett and Amanda were everything we could hope for! Super cool, kind, and accommodating. We were really glad to get to know them (little that we did, since we were gone a lot). And their house was wonderful - a work of art & science. Thank you guys!!

    Jeffrey2014-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Garett’s place was sparkling, squeaky clean and clutter free. I found that alone to be quite relaxing and a good break for my mind on vacation. We enjoyed spending a chill day in the house playing chess and walking around the neighborhood/Mt. Tabor area. It was perfect for the following day, when we took the bus downtown to Portland. Close to the city but quaint and secluded neighborhood that was close to a nice park and many convenient places (cute bagel place, places to eat, dispensary etc) Garrett himself was extremely open and friendly, and we found his laid back attitude to be just what we needed on a relaxing vacation :) was quick to respond and gave us tips on where to go which were all amazing!

    Lucy2018-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda and Garrett we're excellent hosts while we visited Portland, Oregon. Not only was the house exactly as described and pictured, the hosts made a lovely experience for us to learn more about their city, while also embracing our curiosity. In terms of location, this was a perfect spot - about a 10 min drive into downtown, or 30 minute bus which was located half a block from the home (#20), for $2.50/person. If you're interested in Happy Hour, be sure to download Yelp for some of the best areas. We also enjoyed visiting wine country, which was a bit challenging at first to find on the highways, but (Hidden by Airbnb) -map does wonders! For those who love wineries, head into Carlton where there are 100s of wineries along the way. There is also an outlet about 1 hour away with some good shopping, and lots of local boutiques and thrift shops within walking distance. Our favourite area was the Pearl District - both hip in the day and at night! Thanks again for making this such a great long wknd getaway.

    Tamara2014-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • When we arrived were welcomed by our hostess and given a tour. We felt comfortable and welcomed immediately.

    Ann2015-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here for 3 weeks. The house is absolutely great and comfortable. It is an interesting energy saving & Modern design. Much better experience than hotel. The room is neat, clean and really comfortable. Garrett, Amanda and their roommate Matt was super nice and helpful. They gave me a lot tips in Portland, we chat all the time. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, I would recommend the Montavilla area with lots of restaurants. If I need short stay in Portland, I will definitely come back. :)

    Yixin2014-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Garret was a wonderful host and the place is great. Super helpful and understanding and generous! I had something come up with my health that shortened my stay and he was super great about it!

    Marianna2015-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely a 5 star Airbnb. Great people, beautiful and environmental home, comfy room, easy to catch a bus or park a car, and close to a wonderful park with hiking trails. Amanda and Garrett are fun, professional, and easy to communicate with. I hope to stay here again.

“I have stayed at many Airbnb’s in the past few years, and I can confidently say that this one was the best by far. Amazing hospitality, THE COMFIEST BED, beautiful, clean accommodations, and a convenient base to explore Portland. Hawthorne is a lovely neighborhood and Tom and his family were nothing but wonderful to us. The hot tub was a lovely bonus after long days of hiking and exploring. We’ll be back for sure!” - Raleigh, guest May 2018
Ours is a welcoming family home in Portland's close-to-everything Hawthorne District. Guests enjoy their own floor of the home. To ensure both your comfort and productivity we provide a luxurious locally crafted, eco-friendly king-sized memory foam hypoallergenic bed, bamboo sheets, LED reading lights, wifi, desk, printer, bathroom and private entrance in an ideal (quiet yet convenient) location. Across the street from Sewallcrest Park and Community Garden, you're just a short stroll to the great commercial streets of Hawthorne, Division, Belmont and 2 minutes from transit to take you anywhere. Super convenience makes your stay a breeze and a blast. The listing is one of two in our home. The two groups in each listing share the bathroom. You'll never have to wait to use the bathroom: you are always welcome to use the bathroom upstairs off the kitchen.
Our neighborhood location is ideal. So much is so close. Whether you're on the hunt for the best beer in world famous "Beervana," a uniquely fantastic meal in "foodie" Portland, or looking for a quiet, secure place to rest, our neighborhood provides it all.
  • Great location, central to bars and restaurants and transit. Clean quiet space and very accommodating hosts.

    Tobin2017-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of my favorite airbnb experiences so far. Tom and his family were gracious, warm, and welcoming. I had some great conversations, enjoyed their hot tub, and slept like a log in the comfortable bed. I wish I could have spent more time hanging out with them!

    Dorrit2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Reba were so kind! This home is centrally located to lots of fun bars, restaurants, food carts, and shops in Hawthorne and Belmont. The bed was super comfortable, and the accommodations were gorgeous and modern. There was another tenant in the room next to me, but I didn't hear him at all. The bathroom was amazing! The stay was reasonably priced, too. Thank you, Tom and Reba!

    Melissa2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Tom's place and spending time with Tom's family was an amazing experience. If you want to discuss politics, learn about how it is to live in the US - this is the place to be. They were friendly, warm and welcoming people to whom you can ask anything. Great stay - totally recommend it.

    Alexandra2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great room, clean, comfy and amazing location. Tom was very accommodating as well.

    Matthew2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Tom & family were very friendly - lots of suggestions for things to do / places to eat, but generally left us to our privacy if we didn't reach out. Very accommodating and generally very responsive while communicating. Private entrance was nice - no worries about disturbing anyone or needing to plan around being back at specific times.

    Michael2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Host Family was wonderful. Kind, helpful, enjoyable, respectful of my privacy, wonderful morning coffee, fantastic location. loved staying there.

Beautiful Oasis 30 minutes from SE Portland, 10 min. from the Clackamas River & 60 min. to Mt. Hood. The house is located in a secluded area in the country with a background looking over a variety of trees and plants. Enjoy the comfort of your own unique suite with a private entry located on the lower level of our home. Swim in the solar pool (Seasonal Only) while listening to the wildlife. New Seasons Market Place is 10 minutes away by car.
Great private entry with a quaint patio welcomes you to a well furnished suite with a private bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, dining and living area. Private outdoor patio as well as community patio with lounge chairs and table are there for guest relaxation by the pool. Pool closed during cold and rainy season.
We are very secluded but only 5 minutes from Safeway and 10 minutes from New Seasons, Peets Coffee and many other shops. We love our location as we get the best of both worlds and we hope you feel the same.
  • We enjoyed our stay. We were looking for a place outside the city yet a short drive in. We loved the setting and plan to return. Sue’s place had everything we needed for a comfortable and pleasant stay. Highly recommend, it was all that was described to be and more.

    Douglas2018-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • The rooms were spacious and clean. Loved the availability of the kitchenette. Sue offered suggestions about restaurants or hiking trails in the area. Also, she provided eggs from their chickens :) I had a lovely, quiet time, and would stay there again. I highly recommend them.

    Nonie2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Sue's place was great. We were greeted and shown to our room. The property is beautiful although it is about 30-40min to downtown Portland (which is pretty close in my experience) so may want to consider something close if you want to be able the get to town quickly.

    Tyler2018-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sue was a wonderful host and super responsive. This small hideaway is secluded enough to feel like you are out in nature, but also close enough to many activities. Mt. Hood was a 50 minute drive and Portland is only 25 minutes away. If Portland isn't for you and you are more of a Salem person, Salem is only an hour away. Fan of Tillamook cheese? Drive two hours over to enjoy the best dairy of your life along with some beautiful hikes. We visited in mid February so it was still winter season so for those who visit in winter, make sure you have a car that has 4 wheel drive. It will make driving in the snow much easier as it does snow in Damascus. Sue's is a great place to stay for those that are looking for what not only Portland has to offer but what Oregon has to offer.

    Tony2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Sues home was a very nice place to stay with beautiful views of the woods. Very quiet and serene. Separate bedroom from living room & kitchen, lots of space to spread out. Perfect location between the city & Mt Hood. Close to many restaurants, stores etc.

    Michelle2018-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Sue's Oasis was exactly what I was looking for with my sweetie. A quiet comfortable space. With WiFi and a TV with Amazon services, we had everything we needed for a relaxed quick getaway. Coffee was included and Sue offered breakfast supplies. Sue even left a candle on for our arrival. I would definitely come back to this spot.

  • Clarissa is such and amazing host ! There were many lovely amenities. Clean towels, coffee&tea, cold water, WiFi, big comfy bed and couches. I will definitely stay with them next time I’m in Portland. It’s about a 15-20 min drive to Downtown Portland.

    Dyanna2018-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I loved the cleanliness and style of the apartment! It was my first time using Airbnb and I’m glad I had Carlos and Clarissa as hosts!

    Shyann2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Carlos and Clarissa were great hosts. They were very communicative. I didn't expect their place to have such a wonderful view of the distant mountains/hills in the evening. The location is not right in Portland, but it's quiet, peaceful, and a very comfortable space. I wish we had stayed more than 1 night!

    Janet2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Bed was comfortable, thoughtful amenities, really stylish and the location was great. Would definitely recommend to others and will be back.

  • Very comfortable, stylish, full downstairs, 1 bedroom apt. Private entrance and very clean. Comfortable bed and everything you need for a relaxing weekend. Close to many restaurants and shopping. Loved the coffee machine and fresh, cold water provided. Comfy blankets and pillows are perfect to use for a quiet movie night. They offer a few movies, but bring your own or pop down to Safeway RedBox to get the latest. Carlos and Clarissa were great and respected our need for quiet time but were also there for anything we needed. We will certainly stay again. Highly recommend this place.

Close to Mt Hood Wilderness (45mins) and Downtown Portland (30mins). Our large downstairs space (1,200sq ft) has a private bedroom, bathroom, a playful common room with a fireplace, pool table and dart board setup as well as a kitchenette and laundry facility (additional fee for laundry use). Our bohemian style invites you to take in the park-like view while relaxing comfortably. Come, Enjoy! Please note - we provide parking for one vehicle, if more is needed please let us know.
With a wonderful New Season's Market just down the street, getting groceries or last minute trip munches is very convenient. We are very close (200 yrds) away from Pendarvis Farm, a oft used wedding venue and home to the Pickathon Music Festival. Also, just 2 miles away is the Happy Valley Station, a collective of 16 food carts, a Portland icon.
  • Thank you Robert and Yvonne - we had a great stay at your B n B. We were very comfortable and slept well each night. Happy Valley is a great place and we hope to visit the area again in the future. Thanks for the recommendation to visit HV Station for dinner. And thanks for the hammock! Sky and Bryan

  • Robert and Yvonne's place was so beautiful! The apartment was great, roomy, and decorated beautifully. Robert and Yvonne were so welcoming to my friend and I. We had a wonderful time! The apartment is also located about 25-30 mins from downtown Portland which we appreciated because it was quiet and not busy. :)

    Emily2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place with perhaps the most comfortable bed of all time. Robert stood in the pouring rain to meet us at the end of his driveway and was a wonderful host, offering suggestions of local amenities. We were grateful for their flexibility on our checkout time, the warm brownies, and great hospitality. I would highly recommend Robert and Yvonne as hosts.

  • Host is hospitable and welcoming! House is spacious but cozy and fits the description. Back yard is spacious and relaxing.

  • Hagen Hill B&B was great! It was a much larger space than I anticipated and was so comfortable for me, my husband, our 6 month old, and two doggos. We weren't in much, but it was such a great place to come back to at the end of long days and relax. The location is fantastic; no more than 20 minutes to where we wanted to be and it was removed enough that it's quiet and slow paced, just what we wanted! The frogs at night were a bonus :) The hosts were super nice and hospitable and I hope to bring the family back soon!

    Angela2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Robert and Yvonne were fantastic!!! They put so much thought and care into the space and check in was so easy!!! I had special needs for my stay and they were wonderful at accommodating me to make my wedding weekend perfect!!! Thank you so much!!!

If you are wanting to visit all of the must-see sites of NW Oregon - Portland, the Columbia River Gorge, or Mt. Hood - or just need to get away from the city for a night, the cottage is perfectly situated. Sleep nestled among 60-foot pine trees, watch deer scamper through the field off the back porch while sipping your coffee, then get your adventure on with the many opportunities afforded by this location. People from all backgrounds and walks of life are absolutely welcome here.
This renovated, 900 square foot, two-story cottage is located on the corner of a private 2-acre lot with the host's home. The cottage comes with a full kitchen with all cooking necessities provided. The upstairs is the bedroom with a full-size pillowtop bed. There is no doorway that can be closed, however the L-shaped stairway provides ample privacy. The pull out sofa is downstairs. Enjoy the huge wrap-around porch with a gas grill and comfortable chairs to lounge in while enjoying the serenity of this property. The cottage is also surrounded with mature blooming shrubs in the spring and early summer. Inside and out of the cottage also features local artists' metal sculpture and photography. We have no doubt that you'll love the location as much as we do! The cottage is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), or a group of four friends taking an adventure weekend!
The location is in a quiet neighborhood, situated nearly at the end of a dead end street. Car is recommended as the closest public transportation is about 8 miles away, and the local streets are not all that bike-friendly.
  • This place is by far the best Airbnb I have booked from all of my trips. Matthew and Cherie’s was spot on with the description of the place, they are also very accommodating and answered all my questions prior to my visit. If I ever revisit Portland, I would definite book their place again.

    Michael2018-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wow!!! What an oasis Matthew and Cherie have created. The house is well heated, fully equipped with everything you could desire, cozy, and all around beautiful! Delightfully warm hosts with excellent communication before, during, and after the experience. The deck was very peaceful and quite. Overall we had an amazing time, would highly recommend for a nice retreat or to write your next great novel.

    Kylie2017-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cozy, tranquil piece of heaven! This spacious cottage has everything you need! Cheri had it so cozy with fresh flowers, eggs and coffee.

    Sue2017-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, newer construction, private stay in the woods. Fresh eggs in the fridge! Note: no TV and bed is a full

    Amy2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re planning a trip to Portland, stay here! It was perfect for my husband and I’s little Valentines get away! Matt introduced himself and the space right after we arrived. And made himself available the entire stay. The space is even better than the pictures! As far as amenities, Matt and Cherie have thought of everything! A little bummed I didn’t get to meet Jeepers during our stay. Maybe next time! ;)

    Angelize2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and cozy place! I had a wonderful time with the great amenities and hospitality.

    Jadelyn2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Four friends took a road trip up to Oregon and found ourselves a whimsical home. Cherie and Matthew are the sweetest of people. They were so kind and easy to communicate with even before we got there. We were greeted with warm smiles and the most beautiful home you ever set your eyes on. A cute little home, surrounded by big trees and some occasional deer. We fell in love with the porch that wraps around the house, fully covered so you can enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine anytime during the day. Adorable kitchen and living room space. The bedroom upstairs was so cozy, with a small sky light to catch a glimpse of the trees or a colorful sky. Matthew and Cherie made us feel so at home, it was hard to leave this magical space! Driving distance to downtown Portland was easy, we experienced driving at all different times of the day and evening! Treat yourself and choose this enchanting home, you won't regret it. Thank you so much Cherie and Matthew!

    Joshua2017-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a beautiful space to call your own while exploring Portland and nearby sites, stop looking and book this place NOW. This was without a doubt, our favorite place we've stayed at (though we've stayed at great places before too) simply because it really felt like our own little home tucked away in the woods free of the hustle bustle of the big city. We could come home and relax after a long day of being out and about, whether downtown, at the beach, on Mt. Hood, or even a late night back from Seattle. This cottage has everything you would need in case you forgot something at home, wanted to do some laundry, or just want to stay in and cook. My favorite little touch was the fresh flowers everywhere. They brought some of that outdoor beauty that surrounds the house indoors as well. I also liked having two vanity spaces so my husband and I didn't crowd each other while getting ready. The bedding upstairs was soft and warm and the cottage stayed the perfect temperature for us during the chilly fall nights. Matthew and Cherie were avery thoughtful throughout our stay and checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. We honestly miss it already and we look forward to when we can stay at this cottage again!! This place truly helped make my return (and hubby's first trip) to the PNW a success and full of new memories.

Our Tiny River House is located on the bank of the Clackamas River just 30 min from Portland. It is just 200 square feet but has everything you need. Made with reclaimed lumber and industrial accents, it takes full advantage of the beautiful views on this peaceful River setting.
This is a one of a kind tiny house built on a military ammunition trailer. The tiny house was built by the host and carefully constructed with no detail left out. There is even air conditioning for warmer days. The setting is ideal for nature lovers. On a hot summer day, it makes for great people watching as the rafters float by. If you like to fish, you can fish from the bank or arrange a guided fishing trip. You can even float the river, swim, or sunbathe.
We love the setting and beauty of the river. We love feeling as though we are far out in the country yet so close to town. There are some great restaurants within minutes of the tiny house.
  • My husband and I came to Tiny for a stay-cation and we were not disappointed! We had a very relaxing time and enjoyed the place immensely! Gorgeous house with even better views. We can't wait to come back.

    Becca2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • An all-around incredible experience! Kathleen & Rick are the perfect hosts: friendly, accommodating, thoughtful and generous. Tiny is equipped with every little detail you can imagine, which is really something considering how tiny it really is! The space is so unique and well-considered-- you can really tell how much of a labor of love it was for Rick to build. My husband and I loved everything about our weekend at Tiny: only 30 minutes from Portland, located right on the Clackamas for fishing and swimming, amazing bed & bedding, spectacular views of the mist on the river every morning, and a totally tranquil respite. Highly recommend a stay.

    Rachel2016-09-12T00:00:00Z

  • We could not have enjoyed our stay in this tiny house more! Kathleen and Rick were both incredibly nice and helpful. They gave us privacy but were there to help if needed. The raised bed makes it feel as though you're sleeping in the middle of the river. It was incredible!

  • A beautiful, contemporary home in a great location. Master suite on main floor was perfect for our elderly parents. The house was clean and comfortable. Our only disappointment was the towels, which were of poor quality. Everything else was wonderful. Wendy responded quickly to each text and call and allowed us early check in without extra charge so that we could get ready for a wedding that we were attending. We'd definitely stay again and we recommend it to others.

    Karlyn2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks again

    Justin2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The whole house was very comfortable, extremely nice bedrooms, nice view out living room bedroom, we had access to garage which was nice. We would stay there again in a heart beat.

    Thomas2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time and Wendy was very helpful!

    Jesse2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy went above and beyond, was available to help with anything. Home was great for a group. The upstairs bedroom gets a little more street noise so if you're a light sleeper take the downstairs. Mattresses and pillows are the temper pedic type and very comfortable. Thanks for everything.

    Carolina2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing view from the place, very clean and cozy. Grocery stores and restaurants near by and close to the City. I would definitely stay there again.+

    Amalia2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This house is new, clean and has an amazing view. There is plenty of space to hang out or have your privacy. Wendy is easy to reach if you need anything and she is extremely helpful. I also must say that the beds are memory foam and are so comfortable! We just used this place as a home base to travel around the Portland area as it is only 25 minutes out. So glad we picked this over more expensive options in Portland.

Cute little Tiny House! It used to be our boys' fort when they were young, now it is a comfortable little retreat for adventurers exploring Portland!
Cute little back yard "granny flat" cottage located near Mt Tabor park in very desirable neighborhood! The cottage is "Portland Style" construction with excellent insulation (R30), new windows, etc.. Great host, free internet, parking, furnished living space that is quite private.. The cottage contains an upstairs bedroom & sitting area. Note: There are steep stairs, so please take that into account ~ if you have joint pain, etc. this might not be the best choice of places to stay... The QUEEN size mattress is new and comfortable. Downstairs there is a small kitchen with stove, microwave and under the counter fridge. Also downstairs is a full bath with ceramic tile shower. Coffee maker and freshly ground coffee provided in the cottage as well as complimentary muffins. At times a made to order hot breakfast is available, message me to see if it will be available during your stay :-D. Guests are welcome to use washer/dryer in main house. Guests have use of the back yard with fruit trees and some berries when in season. Also the cottage is within walking distance of Division street shops, Pizzicato pizza, the 52nd & Foster street Food Carts and much more. The # 4 bus is just a block and a half away, which can take passengers west directly downtown. The TRI-MET app or website is easy to use & can help you get you anywhere from the airport, to downtown, to Powells Books, The Chinese Garden, and so on.
South Tabor Neighborhood is a quiet eclectic little neighborhood with many avid gardners, friendly neighbors, and gobs of dog lovers. We have community get-togethers, work parties, and holiday celebrations! If you are used to neighborhoods where no one knows each other or even speaks to each other this is definitely NOT the neighborhood for you :-D
  • Quiet, cozy and very clean cottage. The hot shower was amazing. Lisa is a very welcoming host. Her breakfast burritos were to die for. We definitely recommend her place!

    Giel & Elke (& Stef)2013-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great experience at the South Tabor Cottage. The space was very quaint and relaxing. We had both of our dogs with us and still had enough room to cook dinner and hang out on the second floor. We ordered the breakfast burritos and they were delicious! Definitely filling and lots of flavor. We would highly recommend staying with Lisa at her little cottage.

    Sarah2014-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great neighborhood with access to a nearby bus route that goes downtown. Nearby coffeehouse on Division & 60th was a friendly and comfortable hangout. As part of the price, Lisa prepares delightful breakfasts and delivers them to the cottage door at 9 AM. We did not always take advantage of these as that hour was a bit late for us, but they were wonderful. A few things to be aware of that are not part of the description... Wireless internet access only worked on one radio frequency, so we had to use a mobile phone as a hotspot, which pushed our data plan over its limit. The bathroom is down a steep wooden flight of stairs from the bedroom area, so be prepared to go up and down, which can be problematic during the night. Space is cramped - only room for one chair in the kitchen, upstairs an effort has been made to place two armchairs and a tiny table with two folding chairs, but the arrangement is not comfortable or conducive to two people moving around or hanging out, especially once suitcases are added. Hence, we made much use of the nearby coffeehouse. Good value as long as you are prepared for those things. Great for one person or two hardy, limber souls.

    Cynthia2015-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • If you are planning to stay in Portland … You have to stay with Lisa!! It is the coziest cottage! Lisa was a great host! She gave us our privacy and if you need her she is just a few steps away in the Big house. The location for the cottage is PERFECT and the breakfast is out of this world… I highly recommend staying with Lisa:)

    Lauren2014-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was cozy and just perfect for our stay in Portland! Lisa and her husband were warm and welcoming, and the neighborhood was quiet and fun to walk around. Lisa makes a delicious breakfast, and I highly recommend the granola and potatoes! We really enjoyed our stay here.

    Allison2015-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at Lisa's cottage! She is very kind and accommodating. Her breakfasts in the morning are the perfect start to any day and rivaled the meals we ate out while in Portland. The cottage is just as described and depicted, it's a small space, but well thought out so you don't feel cramped. The bed is very comfortable and it was private and quite every day. We found it to be the perfect oasis after a long day caravanning around Portland. It does look like the fire pit that was once in the backyard is no longer there, but that wasn't too big of deal for us as we were usually ready for bed by the time we made it back to the cottage. We would absolutely stay here again and hope to do so soon because Portland and this cottage are both amazing!

    Lisa2015-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa certainly made us feel welcome. The neighborhood seemed safe and the houses were well maintained.

    Joann2015-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it, loved it, loved it! Charming, warm, clean and cute cottage. Lisa is great - she manages to be laid back and attentive all at once.

Our small (8X12) free-standing studio is light-filled, private and tucked away under the trees. With a comfortable queen-sized bed, microwave, mini-fridge electric kettle and table, you will be cozy here! Please note: The Tiny House does not have its own bathroom. Guests use a shared bathroom just inside the back door of our house (our family has a primary bathroom upstairs, but we use the downstairs bath occasionally. We keep it clean and use it minimally when guests are in the tiny house).
Our tiny house is a delightful retreat. While you do share a bathroom in the house, this outdoor studio will offer you great privacy. The tiny house is set up for you to be able to sleep and make coffee/tea and microwavable meals. There is a mini-fridge for your perishable foods, and microwave and electric kettle. There is a table which you can use for dining and also as your desk. Enjoy sipping a cup of locally roasted coffee (beans provided!) while you enjoy the peaceful trees in our 2/3 acre yard. Our backyard also has a large "pump track" that Joel made, as an enthusiastic mountain biker. Feel free to bring your mountain bikes and ride it! The tiny house is very small so we do not store many things in there, but we do have additional amenities available, including: extra pillows and blankets, extra fans and space heaters, hair dryer, curling iron, clothing iron, yoga mat, extra towels, kitchen utensils, tupperware and more. If there is something you need, just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate! Please Note: There is no kitchen or plumbing in the tiny house-it is small studio. It works best for guests who plan to eat out or prepare very simple foods with the microwave and mini fridge. We are happy to provide extra plates, silverware, etc. and if you need to wash a dish or two, just let us know and you can pop into our kitchen.
We live in Portland's Lents neighborhood, which is ethnically diverse and not yet gentrified. We are close to some lovely local nature preserves, including Leach Botanical Gardens and Powell Butte. We are also close to freeways, airport, parks and public transit. Please note: We are about 10 miles from downtown Portland and about 3-5 miles from the "hip" neighborhoods in SE Portland that have a lot of walkable attractions. If you have a car it is pretty easy to get around from here, but this is not the ideal neighborhood if you are hoping to walk to Portland's best spots without driving or taking the bus. You can walk to Safeway, Walgreens, and the closest bus stop very easily from here.
  • We had a wonderful time staying in Kate and Joel's tiny house. The listing was just as described with all the cute amenities included. It was a small space but just what we needed and we loved staying there. I got to meet Kate right before we were checking out and she recommended that we check out a few spots in south east Portland versus going down town. I'm sure glad she did! We had an amazing time having brunch and checking out the local farmers and flea markets. Not only was there tiny house perfect but they were the best hosts all around. I highly recommend them to anyone interested and we hope to stay with them in the future

    Nichole2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the tiny home-- felt a lot of love and care was put into it!

    Carole2016-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful cozy place perfect for a one night stay. A small heater was set up for me when I arrived, hosts are very into the small details. They were immediately available via text and email when I couldn't find things in the small house itself and when I needed to make last minute schedule changes! Would definitely recommend, as it was so compatible with the city and feel of Portland!

    Julie2016-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Like a little cabin in the woods. Would stay here again!

    Jackson2018-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house is well, tiny, but it has everything you need to enjoy a week in Portland and Joel, Kate, and kids were perfect hosts. Would definitely stay here again.

A quiet, cozy bedroom & bathroom on the ground floor of a beautiful, modern new home in a verdant, friendly Southeast Portland neighborhood. Enthusiastic greeting by very friendly dogs & cat comes standard!
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE REQUESTING ACCOMMODATION. As a courtesy to our guests, our check-in time is 2:00 pm; however, as we both work weekdays, we cannot have the rooms ready until 5:30 or so. What this means is that our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in their living room or just drop their bags off and head out exploring, but they won't be able to rest their weary heads or hit the showers until we've had a chance to get home and tidy up. (PLEASE NOTE: This listing highlights the primary guest bedroom available, but for parties of 3 or 4 people, we do have a secondary bedroom that also features a queen-sized bed. If you are making a reservation for two people and you wish to book both bedrooms, PLEASE EXPLICITLY TELL US SO, as the default for two guests is ONE bedroom; for a two-guest reservation, the cost will be the listed room rate + $30/night. All guests share the same bathroom.) There is almost an entire floor available in our newish home smack-dab in the heart of fun, accessible Southeast Portland! This means that our guest(s) get not only their own quiet bedroom, but also a private full bathroom AND their own nicely-appointed living room (please note: the first-floor living room is NOT private, as it does not have a ceiling and is the way between the front door of the house and the stairs to the second floor). We are steps away from a frequent-service bus line, a terrific sandwich shop that's open for breakfast, lunch AND dinner, a pizza joint, a Starbucks, and, best of all, a Trader Joe's! The house is about two miles south of the trendy Hawthorne district, one mile south of nationally-recognized Division Street, and about four miles east of downtown Portland. The house itself is a beautiful, soaring Doug Fir- and hemlock-constructed dream home decorated with one-of-kind glass art pieces and potted succulents. Our guests have access to our fabulous kitchen in addition to their own first-floor amenities. We have a very friendly housecat you will likely meet during your stay, but the guest bedroom and guest bathroom doors are kept closed for the comfort of allergen-sensitive guests. We also have two friendly dogs who will greet you eagerly upon your arrival, but who otherwise spend their time hanging out with us and don't wander much to the guest floor. Lastly, to our guests during the colder months: the guest floor tends to be the coolest in the house, and we provide space heaters and afghans for your comfort, but we figure we should let you know ahead of time that if you run cold, ours may not be the ideal place for your stay.
Our neighborhood is so great! We are really close to several cool Portland hubs, but we're on a relatively quiet residential street so we truly have the best of all worlds.
  • I've stayed with a lot of great hosts, and Brad & Becca are right up there with the best. They were welcoming and extremely flexible - I felt like I was staying with old friends. The space is beautiful and unique, and I was glad to have such a comfortable bed for the night. Their home is spotless (a fine tooth comb may be in employ here - my pet allergies didn't bother me at all, even though they have a sweet pup). I felt right at home, and am happy to recommend Brad & Becca!

    Heidi2014-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • This spot was perfect for our needs, close enough to downtown to be a reasonable Uber ride away, good food less than a block away, and such a peaceful space! Brad and Becca are wonderful hosts.

    Kimberly2016-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Almost didn't get to meet them since they work early and I spent most of my time in Portland seeing as much as I could and eating my way. Really cool vibe to the house too!

    Brandon2014-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • I had an absolutely fantastic stay at Brad and Becca's house. The house is new, well kept, and clean. The bed is dream to sleep on. The location is solid for anything you'd want to do in SE and access to 75, a main bus line, is just around the corner. Highly recommended.

  • I am a passionate airbnb host and so of course use airbnb when I travel. This space was very reasonably priced, immaculately clean, and very well located. We were going to a graduation for our son at Reed College and it was about five minutes away. The house came complete with a wonderful cat named Biscuit who was totally cuddly and made my stay incredible. The hosts cleaned the light, airy bathroom every day and left us to our own devices. We had access to the kitchen to make coffee and get our cereal and felt secure and very comfortable. Parking on the street was never a problem. Also, the hosts were more than gracious about canceling an additional night we did not need. They did not have to, but gave us a full refund. YOu would pay triple this amount to stay in a comparable hotel experience, and would not have the luxury of feeling like you a re i,n a unique space. The hosts, though somewhat reserved and formal, were gracious and take airbnb seriously. They pay their taxes and are fully above board. I would recommend them heartily. You won't find a cleaner, more accessible and affordable place to stay in Portland.

    Jane-Marie2014-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca know what they are doing! Their place is magical - Brad constructed an amazing map of things to do in Portland. Their Airbnb is a private bedroom/bathroom on your own floor. They have an adorable, sweet cat! Street parking is easy.

    Lauren2015-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca were amazing hosts. It was easy to coordinate arrival and they were very kind and welcoming to my wife and me. The house is amazing! It was clean and very cozy and their two pets, Diego and Carlos, were too sweet. The location is also great for exploring Portland. It has easy access to Division and Hawthorne streets if you're into walking like us and since Portland is relatively small, it was really easy for us to get anywhere we wanted as fast or as slow as we wanted. They were kind enough to chat with us and provide some guidance during our stay but they also have a really cool map on the wall with some great suggestions for places to eat and a guide to the all the fun neighborhoods. We could not have been happier with our stay and definitely recommend Brad and Becca's place to any visitors of Portland.

    Edward2015-03-03T00:00:00Z

  • The three of us moved here from out of state and needed a month to get outselves situated. He was kind enough to pick us up from the airport and share his knowledge of the area. The apartment was very neat and the neighborhood quiet and pleasant. If you enjoy walking, the Max rail is only 20 minutes away and local stores only 10! The seperate entrance is a plus :) Definitely worth the stay, especially if on a budget.

  • Jonathan has a great quiet location, close to Portland, Sellwood and his accommodations were perfect. Clean and cool. Outdoor space for us to relax and price was great! We enjoyed our stay and look forward to next summer, staying here again.

  • This was my second time staying at Jonathan’s. He is an excellent host, very friendly and accommodating. The basement unit is very comfortable and separate from the rest of the house. Close to public transportation and small shopping center. 10/10

    Robert2018-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great private apartment, with lots of space, especially for longer trips. Jonathan is a very helpful host and I enjoyed my stay.

    Caitlin2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a good stay for over a month. The space is as described, comfortable and cozy. A good sized bedroom, living room, and bathroom all to ourselves, plus a small kitchen area, make this a great value. Jonathan is a good host who will go out of his way for you. The location has good access to many areas of Portland. A good safe place to stay.

    Frank2015-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • I spent my winter break at Jonathan's and found it extremely comfortable. It provided all the necessary amenities as well as some nice perks such as Netflix and espresso. Would recommend to anyone!

    Kelly2018-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. For the price this really is a nice place. We liked the neighborhood a lot for walks. You have your own entrance through the garage. The place even had an iron. Could use a hot plate but other than that we were suoer satisfied. Jonathan always replied really fast if we had a question. As previously mentioned by other guests the washer and dryer are also used by the owner. In our 2 week stay this happened only once so no big deal for us. We were not big fans of the bed but that may have just been personal preference. All in all a great place

    Melanie2017-11-04T00:00:00Z

  • As a female solo traveler, I highly recommend Mr. Roland's place! Even tho it doesn't have a door but it is upstairs and you have the whole place which is nice, comfortable, cute and quiet. I enjoyed my stay so much and hopefully I can still get to stay here again next time visiting Portland!

  • This was my first time in Portland and I absolutely had a wonderful experience staying at Roland's loft. This loft is upstair with a plenty of space and a balcony. I basically had the entire floor to myself. So I had privacy as much as I needed. Although the staircase might be narrow for some people, I personally had no problem getting my luggage up there. Bed is comfortable and I always had good nights sleep. Jacuzzi bath tub was fun and it took me a little bit getting used to it. The location is in a very nice and safe neighborhood and it's within a walking distance to Division and Hawthrone streets, which are filled with famous food carts, restaurants, cafes, bars and vintage shops. There are bus stops nearby about 3-4 blocks away and it is really simple and convenient getting around and to downtown Portland via public transportation (TriMet buses, StreetCars, Max light Rail). I had a fantastic time exploring Portland. Roland was a very excellent host. He was very nice, funny, responsive and accommodating. On my check-in day, my flight was delayed and he was able to accommodate this and provided me all the check-in info. He also gave me recommendation of places to visit and a brief history of Portland. I felt welcomed and enjoyed my stay here. I highly recommend this place.

    Nate2016-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice well furnished private space....a/c came in handy(heat rises) for the heat wave. Couldn't ask for a more hospitable host...thanks Roland!

    David2017-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Roland was VERY accommodating. I arrived early in the morning and needed to get ready for a meeting. He let me use his study and downstairs bathroom to allow me to get ready, yet not bother the people that hadn't checked out yet. Much appreciated. I was away most of the time, so was never able to meet up with him. However he is very responsive to text/email and seems eager to please! The place is an attic converted to a loft (up a narrow spiral staircase). Plenty of room, clearly cared for. Bed was comfy. As others noted, the skylights let in morning light, but I was fine with that. Only upgrade I'd recommend is a screen partition or the like at the top of the stairs (since there is no door). Not a big deal as it still was very private, but a nice to have. Thanks, recommendedd!

    Tom2015-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Roland was probably the most hospitable host I've stayed with. Very warm and inviting. There is a certain lack of privacy to the loft space, though it's not as bad as you may fear. The spiral staircase up is very narrow, so there's barely any way to see up. But, it is very narrow. Mind your step. Generally, I'd say this is a great spot if you're rolling into town solo and want somewhere quiet and friendly to stay.

Newly constructed in 2016, our private detached garden studio sits in the heart of a quiet residential neighborhood and is a short stroll to top restaurants, food carts, and shopping in hip SE Portland. The space is compact -- about 240sf -- but cozy, bright and a great place to unwind after a day of exploring Portland!
Our cozy studio includes a comfy queen bed, vaulted ceilings, full bathroom, kitchenette, and small sitting area. It's fully detached from the main house, so offers complete privacy. Skylights, french doors, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows provide an abundance of natural light, even on a grey, drizzly Portland day, as well as views of the west hills. It's small --about 240sf-- but the space is well utilized with many amenities such as wireless Bluetooth speaker, Portland maps and guides, and comfy pillows and blankets to make it feel like home. The space is best suited for guests seeking a cozy place to relax and recharge after a day of exploring Portland; If you're needing more of a "hangout spot," this may not be the best fit. The studio has a full bathroom with shower (no tub). The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, sink, instant hot water, coffee maker, coffee press, microwave and everything you need for reheating leftovers from the many restaurants and food carts nearby. Complementary tea and coffee are provided along with a long list of restaurant recommendations. There’s a growler available for filling, which you can do at The Imperial Bottle Shop on Division Street and at many local breweries and grocery stores nearby.
We love living in the heart of the Richmond neighborhood! Nestled on a quiet, residential street, we're a short stroll (about 1/3mi) to hip and eclectic restaurant and retail districts of SE Portland. A 4-block walk brings you to a bus stop that can get you most anywhere else in town. A short walk from the studio brings you to food, shopping and entertainment (to name a few of our favorites): PokPok, Salt & Straw, Ava Gene's, Bollywood Theater; Food Cart pods, Little T Bakery, St Honore; A myriad of boutiques, shops and independent movie theaters on Hawthorne, Clinton and Division streets. You'll likely meet some friendly neighborhood cats during your stay, but due to severe allergies, our studio is pet- and allergen-free. You may also spot our eyepatch-wearing, kung fu-performing neighbor (and good friend) practicing in the street, sometimes alongside his 4yo daughter. He’s a world-renowned martial artist and teacher, is super friendly and adds some true Portland character to our otherwise sleepy neighborhood.
  • This place was amazing! Better than the photos, if you can imagine. So many cute little details! Guest book to write in that has previous travelers experiences and recommendations for places to eat as well as a long list of all of the places nearby. Pretty much anything you could want is within walking distance. Loved it here! Very cozy and comfortable!

  • What a delightful urban oasis! Melissa's place was a beautifully appointed, light and airy cottage overlooking the lush gardens of her back yard in a quiet residential neighborhood of Southeast Portland. I would have loved to have stayed longer than I did just to treat myself to the comforts of home she provided. I loved the little touches - fresh flowers, tea, coffee, sparkling water, chocolate!, little notes to make the visit as easy as it could be. Truly a nourishing experience. Thank you Melissa!

    Julia2018-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • As all previous reviews have already stated, Melissa is a super host and her place is amazing. We had a lovely and very relaxing time at her studio and hope to come back soon. Thank you Melissa and Brian!

    Maria2018-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • GREAT great place to stay at whilst in Portland. Melissa and Brian's studio is close to everything awesome in Portland. The studio is perfectly decorated with the cutest quirks. It's also stocked with awesome things to have while traveling: coffee, water filter, utensils, microwave, speakers, towels, games. I also love the food/drinks advice and other tips they left for us! 10/10 recommend!!

    Heidi2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa's space is perfect! It was COMPLETELY spotless, in an awesome and walkable location, and Melissa was so kind and thoughtful and very communicative and hospitable! Highly highly recommend staying (Website hidden by Airbnb) in the middle of the city but feels a little secluded because of how it's set up. We'll definitely be back!

    Shannon2018-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa's place has a great listing and a great description online, but somehow it STILL exceeded expectations! It is very stylish with a comfortable bed, great shower water pressure, easy (and free) parking, and plenty of other amenities such as local coffee, a Brita water pitcher, and more. Overall, this was one of our favorite Airbnb stays, and we'll definitely look to stay again the next time we are in PDX!

    David2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • AMAZING!!! Great spot amd so easy to get everywhere!! So beautiful and clean and homey We loved every bit of it!!! Book melissa and brian!

Top of Sunshine Butte at 1000' elevation! A wonderful retreat in a quiet and peaceful sanctuary, yet only 30 minutes from the city! A/C here! Summertime is the best, with outdoor deck, and nearby hiking/biking/columbia gorge. Everyone loves the hot tub, rejuvenation!
Welcome Home! Spa in the woods bed and breakfast features rejuvenating, serene setting with unparalleled tranquility, and is close to the Columbia Gorge, Mount Hood and recreational/tourist areas. If you want to relax in a beautiful yard, listening to the birds singing, enjoying outdoor hot tub then make a stop here. Beat the Heat! Your room is comfortably cool and the home has full air conditioning for those hottest of summer days. Outside it is a little cooler and more comfortable here than Portland with our 1000' elevation. This is ideally located near the great areas for mountain biking, hiking, motorcycling, rivers, skiing/snowboarding yet only 4 miles to MAX or a 30 minute drive to downtown. The scenic Springwater Corridor is a biker's or a walker's paradise and is only 5 minutes away. Spa also offers pilates reformer and available massage for your wellness. Stay in shape and healthy while on your vacation. Wireless Internet included, and your host can tell you about all the backdoor things to do in the area. Riders, on a nice day we might join you to tour our gorgeous roads. English, Spanish and Portuguese are spoken. Stay here your first days when you arrive in the Northwest, be welcomed by gracious hosts and learn about the area you will love. The home is large and updated, and you share comfortable common areas with your hosts. The neighborhood is made up of homes all located on approximately one acre that has the feel of the real Oregon, for the experience of Northwest Living at its finest. WHO SHOULDN"T GO: If you want to be within walking distance of many shops and restaurants, see lots of newer tract homes, like having street noise, or allergic to cats you might be disappointed here. If this is your first AirBnB experience, you'll find it different than staying at a conventional motel/hotel, as you are sharing space with your hosts and get a unique and personal perspective. You are sharing a room in a house with the owners. Within a short drive exist some of the best eats in the NW, including Yoshida's exquisite riverfront restaurant.
Gateway to the Gorge and Mount Hood, Our neighborhood is uniquely rural yet close in, with about 50 homes set on 1 acre or larger lots. Great things to do start 10 minutes away. It is wooded and set on a butte with a picturesque view of the 3 mountains and the columbia gorge. It is quite different than most of the AirBnB listings in Portland.
  • Ahhhh awesome. I came and the first thing we did was pick blackberries. Very healing night after crazy month. Great convo and hospitality from a super rad and soulful human being. Grateful for this experience :)

  • A secluded neigbohood. It feels like you're in the country, yet it's only 3 miles into the Gresham area. Our private bed and bath were downstairs. We liked the air conditioning in the heat of summer. Marcia and Bob gave us the run of their home, and stayed in communication while they were out. And they were gracious and entertaining always

    Bill2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Spa in the Woods was great! Marcia and Bob made us feel right at home and welcomed us with cocktails. So delicious. The hot tub was everything we expected and more. Very clean and very relaxing. We enjoyed chatting with our hosts over a homemade breakfast on their beautiful deck. Thanks for having us. :)

  • Our stay with Bob and Marcia was a last minute decision, but we are so glad to have stayed at their house. The bedroom was clean and cozy and the company was very enjoyable. We spent the evening having a drink with the hosts and relaxing in the hot tub. Marcia even had a spinach omelet waiting for us the next morning. I would highly recommend these hosts!

    Mallory2013-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Spa in the Woods is a relaxing experience with amazing hosts. From the very beginning we had excellent communication with prompt response. We arrived late and there was a key waiting for us and shortly after we were joined by the hosts, which led to an awesome conversation with wine. After that we relaxed in the hot tub which is exactly like the pics. The room was very private with its own bathroom, on its own level. In the morning, we had amazing breakfast waiting for us on the deck with the woods in front of us. I can go on forever about this place, but in short its like staying with friends who have an amazing place in the woods on a hill.

    hitesh2014-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Marcia and Bob were great. We really enjoyed our stay and they had some great recommendations for stuff to do nearby. Not to mention the Hot tub was so refreshing. I would surely recommend staying here.

    vaibhav2015-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • The experience at the Spa was truly a relaxing get away and a home away from home. If you need a place to relax and recharge then this Spa is you place! It is located in the woods - giving a very relaxing feeling- that is only enhanced by the setting created - with the Hot Tub, beautiful bedroom, and wonderful scents Bob and Marcia use, this Air BnB really helps you get away from it all. However as awesome as the amenities are, what makes this stay truly awesome is Bob and Marcia. They are not only very generous and gracious hosts that want you to have a great time, but are awesome people who want to spend time getting to know their guests and talking about things.

Nestled in a backyard that's home to three cute dwarf goats, this little cabin overlooks the hot tub, back woods, and greenhouse. Serenity and relaxation await you. Complete with an outdoor shower (in the summer months), this is a great place to unwind. Close to the Columbia River Gorge and Mt Hood and only 30 mins to downtown Portland - you get the best of both worlds. The cabin is good for couples and solo adventurers.
This little cabin is tucked into my half acre backyard. Surrounded by a garden, goats, hens, old growth fir trees, canvas wall tent (which also hosts guests), and a hot tub - you will also have access to a half bath with a toilet, sink, and laundry in the main house - as well as an outdoor shower on the deck in the summer months. These spaces are shared. The cabin, however, is all yours. The cabin itself is equipped with a queen size bed with memory foam mattress, a table with two chairs, a hot water kettle, a dresser, as well as a very-mini fridge. This is a space to unwind and relax. Please note that once the temps drop below freezing for the winter, the outdoor shower is turned off and there is no other shower access.
Halfway between Mt Hood and Portland, this spot is a good jumping off point for the gorge, mountain activities, or time in Portland. The neighborhood is partly suburban, partly urban, and partly farmy. It's a big mix out here. Close proximity to Edgefield.
  • Great location with a wonderful relaxing feel. The cabin was very comfortable and the goats were just precious! The outdoor shower was really amazing...wow.

  • Carolyn was an incredibly kind host, providing all details necessary for a smooth check-in process. The quaint interior and delicious breakfast scones were the cherry on top!

    Sam2016-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved how Carolyn’s place felt secluded yet we were still able to experience Portland city life as well. A great place to stay if you want both outdoors and city life in one. Definitely booking again!

    Elysse2018-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is my first experience using Airbnb and am soooo happy I found Carolyn's place. She was a great host and provided most toiletries and necessities needed. Even though the shower is outside, the weather in Portland was perfect and not too cold outside, best shower ever!! Super cute room decor and lovely bed, the mattress felt great. I highly recommend Carolyn's place if you are looking to experience a farmlike cottage vibe.

    Genevieve2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Nice for a quiet getaway. Area is clean and the animals are adorable. The outdoor shower in the winter was.. an experience. Also tip for new visitors the location might be hard to find at night would recommend checking in when the sun is still up.

    Hailey2016-11-24T00:00:00Z

Cozy converted bus with plenty of Bohemian charm, privacy, comfy memory foam mattress, dresser, electricity, lights, and heater. Bus is parked next to a 1907 farmhouse on a quiet cul de sac, close/easily accessed from airport and downtown Portland.
Because this space is separate from the house, guests can enjoy a bit more privacy as well as the option to come and go at any hour without worrying about whether you are disturbing those in the house. * please note there is a $15 fee for additional guests *
  • Loved the bus! The bed was so comfortable. I had easy access to the kitchen and bathroom in the house. Amanda and her roommate were really cool too. So much more personal an experience than a hotel. We sat around and drank coffee and had great discussions in the morning. There wasn't an air conditioner which concerned me when I first got there because the next day was supposed to get up to 90. But even without an air conditioner the bus was totally comfortable at night. I slightly opened a few windows and it was plenty cool that night. Portland is not like Nashville where I'm from. You'd melt in 90 degree weather in Nashville without AC, but it ended up not being a problem at all. I slept really well both nights I was there. The bus is centrally located as well. I was 15 minutes from everything. If, and when I visit Portland again, I'll definitely check to see if the bus is available! I mean I got to post on (Hidden by Airbnb) that I was literally living in a van down by the river! Thanks Amanda!

    Rick2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. Not only is Amanda incredibly friendly and accommodating, but the bus is very cool. And seriously, that bed is really comfy! I had plenty of extra blankets and a space heater for the cooler nights. Because it's not a part of the house, I felt I had so much privacy, which I really liked. But when I did need access to anything - bathroom, kitchen - it was only a few steps away and I always felt very welcomed. The house is great - bright, clean, and comfortable. The MAX green line stop is less than a ten minute walk from the house, so getting downtown is easy with or without driving. I had a blast! And I couldn't have asked for a better host or a more charming set up.

    Jennifer2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This bus is super chill. Highly recommend it. It has a space heater but still gets chilly on cold nights. Great ambience/vibe. Enjoy.

    Justin2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The stay at the bus was Awesome!! If your into the whole simple living and staying thing this place is rad. Warm sleep area, friendly host, and just very laid back and nice.

    Thomas2016-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great little place to spend the night! Unique and cozy. Perfect access to everything I needed. I was in and out but hosts seemed very kind!

    Megan2016-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at the Bohemian bus was definitely and interesting experience. Amanda was really nice and approachable, she showed me how to access the house, kitchen, bathroom, etc. The place is a bit far away from downtown Portland so that's something to consider. The night I stayed happened to be very cold so if you get cold easily that's something else to think about! A heater and many blankets were provided :). Either way Amanda was a great host and the bus itself was lovely, overall a fun experience.

    Viviana2016-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was right on. I liked the little thoughtful touches that made it a special stay...and the sweet, sweet cat in the house. Friendly! Made me miss mine at home. I didn't have the opportunity to run into Amanda, but she was gracious and communicative. Hopefully next time :)

    Sylvia2017-05-08T00:00:00Z

Ranch style home in a friendly, quiet neighborhood. Park & school a block away. Close to bus stop, 205 bike path, I205, 224 and 213 Fenced backyard-pets OK! The house is not in Portland but is relatively close especially if driving. Feel free to park in the driveway if space or in front of the house. The bus runs regularly on weekdays but weekends/eves can be hard-check Trimet trip planner using SE Clackamas Rd and Webster Rd to make sure it works for you.
Bright open room with double bed, nightstand and lamp, dresser, desk and chair, full length mirror and shelves. Comfortable for two. Shared guest bathroom is directly across the hall. Hardwood floors. You can enjoy the rest of the house and backyard.
My home is in a quiet, very safe, residential area with a park down the street and a school across the other way. This is a good place for a walk, run or ride. The 205 bike path is just up the road and goes all the way into Vancouver, WA. It also connects with the Spring Water Corridor bike path. There is a Safeway, Starbucks, Subway, pizza place, gas station, Chinese Restaurant, hair and nail places, beauty salons, dry cleaners and laundry mat, internet coffee shop and convenience stores just up the street. This is a very safe place to live and easy to get to anywhere around. Downtown is about 20 minutes away without traffic (longer now in rush hour), Mt Hood is less than an hour and is magnificent. The Oregon coast is about 1.5-2 hours away depending on where you are going. The Clackamas River Recreational area is close, as is Mt Hood for hiking and camping. There are rivers within minutes. I love this place!

  • Sheri was gracious enough to accommodate our early arrival by preparing the room ahead of time. The breakfast offerings of coffee and toast were most welcome. Everything was exactly as represented online - welcoming, tidy, and comfortable. A great "landing pad" for our short stay.

  • Sheri's home was the perfect place for me to retreat to after long days in a course. It was easily accessible and the neighbourhood was friendly and relaxed. Sheri was supportive in ways that helped me have an extra wonderful stay - recommending an excellent pedicure for a couple of hours I had free. I would love to return.

  • My first experience with an Airbnb host, and I must say I was extremely satisfied with the care, attention, and homey feeling that is in Sheri's home. She is a delight, engaging, and you feel like you've known her for years. I highly recommend her for a stay in the Portland area.

Sheri was extremely communicative throughout the entire booking process, as well as during our stay, and she was very sweet to our pup. Thanks so much Sheri for inviting us into your home is such a kind, generous manner--your hospitality made us feel right at home!

Tiny home/bungalow on a half acre in a nice semi secluded area. It is 11 miles on a straight road to the center of downtown pdx! Sweet, cute, quaint & nothing less than charming:) We are also 50 minutes to great skiing on Mt Hood. The loft holds up to 350lb. A bottom twin with a trundle bed as an alternate option. Please let me know in advance so I can set it up! Ask if jacuzzi is working if you'd like to use. You will most likely not see any of us unless you need something:)
The space has a lower bed/couch/trundle, storage, and upper loft. There is a kitchenette, wifi & a monitor for movies. There is also a full bathroom with a shower. Laundry on site. Our main home is 2500 sqft and sometime we have guests! It is not often but please be aware. The tiny home is set back from ours and is still very private on the 1.2 acre property.
The neighborhood itself is has nothing to walk to except to the Willamette River. However, the yard is spacious and it is very close to Oregon City and Downtown PDX.
  • What a fun place to stay. Those are lovely people and the accommodations could not have been nicer.

  • Celeste was wonderful! She was pleasant and accommodating to our Valentine's Day Weekend. She even had wine ans chocolate! :) Her place was private, clean and very cute. Plus the location was so close to downtown Portland. We loved our stay!!

  • Everything was great about our stay. We booked it on short notice and she was very responsive and quick to answer our questions. The tiny house was just as described - very cozy, well put-together and easy to get to. I would definitely stay here again!

  • Very enjoyable, comfortable stay! Nice extras with complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates. Definitely recommended.

  • This was our first Airbnb experience and Celeste definitely set the bar high for future hosts! She is quick to respond and answer questions. Reservation, check-in & out processes could not be easier! The location was fantastic for us. Just a quick 15 minute drive to downtown, and even though we arrived in Portland during rush hour, traffic was not bad! Plenty of grocery or quick eat options close to the house. The house itself was amazing. It was clean, cozy, and we felt right at home as soon as we walked in! Off street parking was a nice bonus as well. Hope to be back when we have more time to stay!!

  • Such a perfect place to rent for activities in and around Portland! The space was so clean, there were some snacks as well as coffee/tea, and it was just the cutest/coziest spot for my pup and I to use as a "home base" while we explored the nearby Columbia River Gorge. Absolutely recommend Celeste and her tiny house!

    Kim2016-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Celeste's tiny home! It was cute, cozy and perfect for our getaway. She was very thoughtful with all of the little touches that were there waiting for us when we arrived. Checking in and out was a breeze and our dog loved being able to play in the yard!

  • The tiny house was absolutely darling! It was exactly what we needed. We were gone the majority of every day, but it gave us a comfy bed and somewhere to shower! It was adorable and so much bigger than it appears from the outside! You can't beat the price. She also had tons of snacks and different local beers and wine! I would definitely prefer this tiny house over a hotel! Perfect proximity to wherever you want to go! We will definitely stay here again!

  • This was my first Airbnb experience, and as I told Chuck and Anna, they set the bar very high. Immaculately clean, comfortable, and containing everything you could need. Beautifully furnished as well. It is located in a great neighborhood with terrific restaurants within a easy walk. Chuck and Annika were great helping me to find my way there the night I arrived.

  • What an awesome first AirBnB experience! Chuck and Annika were such gracious hosts and were so helpful with all of our questions while arranging our stay. The space they have is perfect! Beautifully decorated, very clean and comfortable. It was private enough to still feel like the getaway we wanted, and the location was is walking distance to any place we wanted to visit. I would highly recommend Chuck and Annika's fantastic space to anyone looking for an authentic Portland experience. It is the best place we could have stayed hands down.

  • The experience with Chuck and Annika is exactly as one would wish for all airbnb experiences. (and I have had some bad ones). When the unit was available earlier than the check in time, they communicated this to me just in case this made life better for me. We were welcomed with cookies and a nice note. The quality of the extra blankets made cuddling up on the couch for a movie a really nice one.
