Access to the Bulkley River in a quiet area. Ten minutes from the city and ten minutes from the Babine Provincial Park.
Perfect place to rest and relax.
Our neighbourhood is very quiet
  • Lyse was a wonderful host. She made sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay, and my night in the cabin was relaxing and perfect. The property is located in a beautiful area of town and Lyse told me how to find a nice trail for a walk along the river. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay

  • Nice cosy place in the wild. Close to slme interesting sites like the twin falls. Very hospital and relax hosts. Friendly dogs.

  • The kind of place that made me want to stay longer even though I was only passing through one night on a long cross-country drive. Everything was exactly what I needed, super cozy bed, clean and perfectly functional bathroom / shower / kitchen, in a nice quiet neighbourhood with reliable and fast internet. The hosts were very welcoming, and their dogs adorable!!

  • We stayed one night in Lyse's cabin. It is in a lovely quiet location with amazing mountains as a backdrop. We had everything we needed and the wifi connection was excellent. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you Lyse.

  • Lyse and her husband greeted us and made us feel more than welcome. The little cottage was great and just what we needed for our one night stay as we journeyed home to Oregon. The muffins Lyse left for us sure tasted good with our coffee in the morning. The setting was so quiet and away from all the rush of the road.

  • Lyse and her husband are absolutely wonderful people. I enjoyed my stay and will certainly stay there again. The cabin is small and has very basic amenities. It served me well during my stay and having the river only 50 meters away is a great bonus. Thanks, Lyse!

  • Excellent value and in a really lovely area to walk or jog. (If mosquitoes like you, bring repellent.) Lise and Normand are friendly and helpful. Wifi signal is excellent.

  • Once again, a great stay at Lyse's place. We really had a nice, relaxing time. Loved the cottage.

  • Amazing stay, such a wonderful host, Kathy was so welcoming, kind, very approachable. I felt like I was home away from home. Thank you kindly for the beautiful hospitality, highly recommend this to anyone heading to the area.

  • Kathy was a great host, accommodated my late arrival, and provided a clean, comfortable place to spend the night.

  • Hi Kathy, we enjoyed our stay very much and we have to thank you a lot. The cookies were delicious; and I had the first time huckleberries and saskatoon berries; thank you very much for your great hospitality; the room was cozy and clean and your home very agreeable. We can recommend this place totally - and definitively for more than one night. The area is perfect for hiking (what we did) and many other things. And thank you very much for your help to find the right hike - although there are plenty of hiking trails in the area. Maybe we meet again sometimes.

  • This is such a lovely place to stay, I come back year after year when I go to Smithers to ski.

  • Kathy was an incredible host, who made me feel completely welcomed and relaxed through the whole stay. Both Kathy and the neighbourhood made me feel like a long time local, and made me excited to come back to Smithers again. The house was very comfortable to stay in, with amazing views and great amenities.

  • Beauty place, Kathy is a really happy, friendly person. We slept really good. Everything was clean! Thanks a lot for staying at your wonderful place

  • Kathy brought a special charm and welcoming feeling to my stay. She was easygoing and eager to respond to any question that came up. Her home is naturally full of life and peaceful yet not too far from town. She has created a space that truly feels like home away from home. I would recommend to anyone coming to Smithers, B.C. Thank you Kathy.

  • This was amazing! Such a beautiful home, and it was so peaceful. Her neighbor greeted us and was very helpful but not at all intrusive. I even recommended this lace with pictures to my friends. I would absolutely stay here again. The kitchen has every single thing you could possibly need for cooking and the bed was very comfortable. The house was very clean and spacious. Thank you again!

This private timber-framed guesthouse is a stone's throw from Seymour Lake and a ten minute drive from downtown Smithers. It has beautiful wood furnishings, a king-sized bed, a fully-stocked kitchen, and is situated on a large forested property. Perfect for: couples looking to get away from it all; those looking for a home base while taking advantage of the Bulkley Valley's world class hunting and fishing; and travellers looking to experience the Canadian wilderness.
PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION. Important notes: No dogs. No small children. No breakfast provided. No wi-fi. Sorry. Seymour Lake is a tranquil getaway at the base of Smither's iconic Hudson Bay Mountain - home of our renowned downhill ski area. Our property is on the far side of the lake where the least development has occurred, allowing us (and you) to take full advantage of the calm beautiful natural surroundings. It is a ten minute drive from Smithers and half an hour commute from the local downhill ski area. Our guesthouse, while near our family's home, has its own private drive and will ensure that you too, can enjoy the lake and the surrounding area. It's a 600 square foot space with modern wood furnishings and kitchen complete with pots, pans and eating/drinking utensils. There are large windows allowing a lots of natural light, particularly in the evening. There is king sized bed and a hideaway couch that contains a double bed. The guesthouse style is an open loft and there are therefore not distinct bedrooms. The guesthouse is surrounded by a large forested property with many trails to walk should you feel adventurous. During the winter three sets of snowshoes will be provided. There is also a small gravel beach the guesthouse shares with the main house complete with a small dry sauna and a canoe. During the winter months there is (usually) a community skating oval ploughed by our neighbours on the lake. Sadly, this year the ice conditions have been less than ideal. As a result there is no skating on the lake as of yet (December 24th). Community skating rinks exist in town, however. Feel free to ask about them and we'll tell you where to find them. Skiing (both cross country and downhill) is a big deal in Smithers. Ask about local conditions and where to rent gear. If you're less adventurous we have a small library of books and a selection of board games that you can use during your stay.
Our neighbours are the moose, the bears and the birds. Staying at this guesthouse will get you right out into nature and you are welcome to travel through our neighbouring forest through the trails we've cut through over 200 acre property. A map of the property will be provided for your stay so you can go explore it yourself.
  • We loved our stay at Eric's house, it was tasteful, well equipped and in a lovely location with a view of the lake and nice places to walk. Also close to ski hill and town while still having a secluded feel. Eric was an excellent, responsive and accommodating host and we would highly recommend this lovely house. We hope to stay again.

  • The cabin is beautiful, and hidden in the woods, with easy access to the lake, which is minimally populated. Only 10 mins to town, and nice and quiet Would recommend to anyone. Ross and Linda McGaw

  • The Guesthouse is *beautiful* and a great place to be - whether the weather cooperates or not. In our case, it didn't, and though we couldn't do the mountain hikes we planned, the cabin's amenities: lake view, wood stove, library, and well set-up kitchen in which we made fabulous meals, meant that we still had a fantastic stay in Smithers. We even managed to take the canoe out for a spin on the lake between raindrops. Highly recommend Eric's place if you're looking for deep immersion into the beautiful nature for which the Bulkley Valley is famous.

  • Awesome place! Incredible view directly situated at a lake with a saunao on the shore. Eric is the most welcoming and uncomplicated host there is. Fire up thr fireplace and enjoy this beautiful gem.

  • Waauw ! That is the perfect way to describe the place Eric has to offer. No extra words needed. This is the perfect getaway at a totally secluded place. big, luxurious and everything you need + more present. 10 out of 10 we would visit again !

  • Perfect cabin, in perfect location. A great place to unwind and relax!

  • We loved our stay at the guest house! Our only regret was staying one night instead of a week. Romantic, cozy and has all the essentials. Beautiful scenery as well.

  • What a great stay! Many thanks to our wonderful hosts for a fantastic weekend getaway, it was just what we needed! After a day of window shopping in the sun, the guesthouse was a perfect place to unwind. We got a fire going and made a lovely dinner using the fully-stocked kitchen. In the evening we were invited to use the sauna which was so very refreshing on a winter evening! The stunning view of the lake was perfect to wake up to, with the bright sun coming through the many windows. We brought our skis and snowshoes with us, but the cabin was so cozy, we opted for a quiet indoor retreat instead - next time we'll be sure to explore a bit!

With endless activities, our lakefront cabin is perfect for your weekend getaway, month-long vacation, or base for outdoor adventure. • Beautiful little cabin on the lake, very scenic, lots of natural light, a very relaxing stay. Lots of brochures and maps to let you know about local trails and outdoor opportunities. Was lovely to come home to a wood-burning fireplace and a warm cabin.

  • The perfect spot for a relaxing weekend. Close to enough to the stores if you needed anything, yet far enough away that you felt secluded. Comfy, quiet and cozy.

  • This beautiful cabin is where we spent our Christmas Holiday and it is one of the best places I have ever stayed. The cabin is big, warm and beautifully built. The bed is very comfortable and everything is top quality. The hosts are very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay incredible. We even had our own private ice rink where our daughter had her first day on skates. We would stay there again and highly recommend it to others. We loved it.

  • We had a great time at Pamela and Daniel's Lakefront Escape. The cabin was perfectly situated on a beautiful lake with scenic views. It felt remote enough to be quiet yet was only 5 minutes away from anything we needed. The cabin was also very impressive itself, with all the modern luxuries in a classic, clean and new log cabin. We especially appreciated the nice bathrooms, comfy memory foam beds, roomy kitchen and wood burning furnace. We highly recommend this place if you plan on visiting Telkwa/Smithers.

  • Perfect place for a getaway. The lake is beautiful, and I enjoyed being able to use the canoe. Saw (and heard) loons, river otters and fish. The kitchen is well appointed, and everything I needed was there.

  • We had a fantastic time at Pamela and Daniel's cabin. It's just like the pictures. Very cozy and warm with a great view of the lake. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Even brought fresh Swiss style coffee in the morning! If you're looking to stay in this area you can't get better than this spot. Erik

  • Hosts are easy going, friendly and thoughtful. Excellent place to stay if you have kids. The cottage was clean, comfortable and modern with good water pressure and fast wifi. The view over the lake was absolutely stunning! We enjoyed every minute of our stay.
