  • April and Ken's place in NOLA was absolutely fantastic. Everything was exactly as described. The place was extremely clean, well presented, and check in and out was seamless. Thankyou both so much for making our stay in"the big easy" such a memorable experience. We would recommend this place to anyone. :-)

  • April was a very gracious host, who checked in on us when we arrived to New Orleans. The guest house is exactly how it is described (and more ) on the site: clean and cozy, located within walking distance to French Quarter & Frechmen St. I will be recommending this house to anyone heading down to Nola!

  • Lovely place, great bedroom, extremely we'll equipped! We loved riding around with the bikes... And the dining suggestions were the best, thank you!

  • April and Ken have a lovely guest home. It is clean, has great decor, and is well-stocked with anything you could need. They even left us great advice on the best places to eat and drink in the area. We would recommend their place to anyone!

    Laura2015-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • April and Ken's guesthouse is perfect for a New Orleans weekend. The guesthouse is perfectly decorated with original paintings, bright colored walls and unique fixtures. We loved the private pool with a guardian lion who let us know not to "dive in the hot tub." We also loved the bikes that we were available to use to explored the neighborhood.

    Kamilah2015-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was beautifu. situated perfectly about a miles walk from the French quarter. Which made great for walking and seeing the neighborhood surrounding the place. If you happened to be walking down Esplande, stop be Horns restaurant for brunch and The Ruby Slipper for breakfast, great places. Furthermore, Ken and April are great hosts and do a wonderful job maintaining the place. The pictures don't do the apartment justice. It really is a beautiful and cozy stay. Thank you Ken and April.

    Gonzalo2016-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • I just loved staying in April and Ken's Guest House. Although it's in a beautiful, quiet and secure location, it is an easy walk to the French Quarter and to the City Park, for NOMA, etc, or you can easilytake RTA buses and/or StreetCars around town. The apartment itself is exactly as described and shown in the pics - very clean, cute and comfortable - and has been set up well with everything you need for a short or long stay. In addition, April and Ken are delightful, helpful hosts....April printed off tickets for Celebration in the Oaks (a must do if you're there at Christmas), they provided lots of hints for restaurants and bars and the bottle of wine as a welcome gift was a really nice touch. I highly recommend staying there...the best of NOLA!

  • April and Kens place was great! My friend and I both really enjoyed our stay and we loved exploring New Orleans even though it was just for a short time. I would definitely come back and stay here again. Our accommodations lived up to the photos, the place was adorable. We felt very safe and the neighbourhood was beautiful.

This beautiful home is in a perfect location to explore the City of New Orleans. It is a hidden gem within walking distance of Frenchmen Street, the best local cafes, bars and restaurants (L'il Dizzy's, Port of Call, Cafe Du Monde), and only 2 blocks from the French Quarters. The home is perfect for those who want to be near it all yet still have an authentic New Orleans experience that is usually only available to locals.
This is a true New Orleans home...you'll enjoy all of the traditional details, like the fireplace and exposed brick.
This neighborhood is alive. It's energy is quintessential New Orleans. You won't find a bad meal or a weak drink. The locals are always friendly and quick to start a conversation.
  • The house was beautifully restores and had lots of character. It was far enough from the French quarter to feel secluded but close enough to walk. Mark gave alot of information on what there was to do in the area. He was out of town when we visited but made arrangements for us in case we needed anything. The only cons are that the walls are pretty thin and you can hear alot of outside noise. Also the street parking is very convenient but be sure that you park far enough from any curbs so you don't get towed.

    Crysta2017-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Mark's house was beautifully decorated, very clean, and exactly as pictured. The quiet neighborhood just outside the French Quarter was within walking distance to everything. Also loved that there was plenty of parking on the street beside the house. Mark's a great host and we would definitely recommend his place.

    Michelle2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Mark's apartment is an absolutely ideal location from which to explore New Orleans - close to the French Quarter, yet very local and not touristy. Convenient to a streetcar, but also walking distance if you feel like wandering. The apartment itself is fantastic - spacious and luxurious in a way that makes it feel like a relaxing oasis.

    Ken2016-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Mark & Truedell were super easy to communicate with and made our arrival at the property seamless. The house was close enough to walk to the quarter and had so much charm.

    Sarah2016-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location if you want to really experience New Orleans as a multicultural city with a rich history. Our host was great and helpful with lots of info and the space was utterly perfect!

Guest area features private bedroom and bath with its own private entrance. Only 2 miles from the French Quarter by streetcar. Enjoy complete privacy in the guest space or visit with the hosts as you desire. Additional bedroom is available for groups traveling together or families traveling with children. Please discuss your group's needs with the host. New Orleans license number is 17STR-06526.
Private bedroom and bath in our charming shotgun house just off the Canal Streetcar line only 2 miles from the French Quarter. Guest area features private entrance, lovely patio, beautiful antique furnishings, 11-foot ceilings, petite chandelier, comfortable and clean queen bed, and cozy guest robes. Internet, cable TV, parking, oscillating fan, iron, music player, white noise machine, hairdryer, fridge, coffeepot, crockpot, and snacks are provided. The space has a peaceful, airy feel and is flooded with natural light. This listing is unique in that you have complete privacy from the main house. The guest space has its own exterior door, and you are free to come and go as you please. The garden path leading to your room features motion-activated lighting if you are returning after dark. The room is located down the garden path in the rear of the house. A second bedroom is available for groups, so the space can be made to accommodate 1-4 people. We welcome special requests and will make every effort to assist with needed recommendations. We can also provide a travel crib and other baby items if you wish to travel with your childen. We love hosting guests for honeymoons, anniversaries, and other special events. Our home is located in the historic Mid-City neighborhood, which was one of the first neighborhoods to spring back after extensive flooding due to Hurricane Katrina. Mid-City is located, as the name indicates, in the middle of New Orleans on what was once the backslope of the Mississippi River natural levee. Our home was built around 1910 and is a typical New Orleans-style shotgun house. In New Orleans at the time of construction, the shotgun house utilized a minimized lot frontage, on which taxes were based. The houses were also built without hallways and closets, which would have been counted as rooms for tax purposes. The origin of the building style and the name itself may trace back to Haitian influences on New Orleans, as many Afro-Haitian slaves lived in this area. Our house was recently featured on the HBO series "Treme", as the law office of the character Toni Bernette (played by Melissa Leo) and also as part of the interior of the home of Creighton Bernette (played by John Goodman). Guests are free to have complete privacy or to meet with the host as desired to obtain recommendations for food, drink, and attractions. Check-in is offered via a lockbox. Rates may vary during special events and holidays. Our home is located just off the parade route for Endymion, the largest parade of Mardi Gras. The festival grounds for Jazz Fest are just over 1 mile away.
Mid-City is a diverse neighborhood with its own distinctive flavor. Bars and restaurants in this area are largely patronized by locals, so the neighborhood provides an escape from the more touristy areas of the city, while still allowing easy access to the French Quarter via the Canal Streetcar Line.
  • Erin and Greg were welcoming and accommodating. They helped with tips and recommendations, going above and beyond by helping store our luggage on our last day. The location is ideal for those that prefer a neighborhood feel away from the touristy areas.

  • Perfect little airbnb for 1 or 2. Would book again.

    Zachary2016-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Erin and her family were wonderful hosts! They even helped my friend after she rolled her ankle. The house is beautiful and has such character! It's in a perfect location to Uber around the city, or hop on the train car! I would recommend everyone to use this place- just watch out for the mosquitos in the garden!

    Lauren2016-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks to Erin's loveley abode my friend and I were able to relax, get some rest and take a well over due shower. Everything about this place made our experience In new orleans enjoyable. She had a very helpful guidebook with some great suggestions and her place was two blocks away from the main street car. Streetparking was available and she was very accommodating when our room was too hot. Over all I enjoyed staying at erin's and I would recommend it to anyone heading to "the big easy."

    Tory2015-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Erin and her husband, Greg are very gracious hosts and were eager to make our stay in NOLA comfortable and enjoyable. Erin checked in with often to make sure we had everything we needed and also made suggestions on where to go and what to do without ever being intrusive. The private room and bath were exceptionally clean and tastefully decorated. I am very fussy when it comes to beds, and was pleased to find it very comfortable and outfitted with quality sheets and a nice white quilted bedspread. The outdoor patio area is very serene and a nice place to read and enjoy your morning coffee, which is all set up in the room. Lastly, the Streetcar was a great way to explore the city. Getting around is very easy and inexpensive, so you dont need a rental car while staying here. We enjoyed our stay here so much, I know we'll be back next time we visit the Crescent City. If you want to experience a real New Orleans neighborhood in comfort, skip the downtown hotels and reserve this lovely room and private bath.

    Sandy2013-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Erin's place was immaculate. A lovely shotgun (i.e. long and narrow) home right in the heart of Mid City. Upon arrival I was greeted by Erin who showed me where I would be staying for the next week. It's a private room that is attached to the rest of the house in the back. It has a separate entrance and door, so you get your own key, which gives you all the privacy you need. The bathroom is roomy, with a nice shower and plenty of hot water. There's even face wash, shampoo, conditioner and body wash to use. Erin really put a lot of thought into decorating and supplying the room, with little snacks and drinks, a couple of bathrobes, a personal coffee maker and a booklet with helpful tips on local places to eat and drink. It was a good hybrid of coziness and hotel amenities. Because it is an attached room to the rest of the house, you do hear everything between the two rooms. This didn't bother me but it might be bothersome if you're looking for total peace and quiet. To give you some context for the location, Mid City is about a 10 minute car ride from the French Quarter where everything is happening, including the conference I was in town for. You can get there easily enough by taking the street care, which is only a couple of blocks from Erin's place and is $1.25 for a one-way trip (exact change, so I recommend keeping some quarters and dollar bills for just this). As Erin instructs, I wouldn't walk from the French Quarter back home, but cabs are easy enough to find. Catching a cab from her house, or along Canal Street where the streetcar runs was hit or miss, so expect to either call a cab or leave plenty of time to catch the streetcar into the Quarter, which come every 15 or 20 minutes. The local bars and pubs around Erin's place are very "local" and cool, although, some (e.g. my parents) would consider them a little dodgy. I went to one my first night and had a great night drinking and eating on the patio out front. I was told by the bartender that that's the real New Orleans, not the Bourbon Street affair everybody goes to. I'd agree. Overall, a lovely place and a great trip. Thanks Erin!

  • Erin's place is a sweet little oasis in New Orleans. We did not meet Erin but found her responsive and kind by phone. It was nice to stay in a real New Orleans neighborhood away from the touristy hustle bustle, we felt safe and super comfortable in our room. We would love to stay here again. The bed was wonderful, the room temperature perfect, the style soothing and the value couldn't be beat.

    Kimberly2015-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great, clean, super sweet place. Our own entrance and bathroom. Would have stayed longer, but this place is def desirable. Thanks for the coffee and water. Erin also had some beers and drinks in the little, COLD fridge. Will definitely stay here again!

  • You couldn't ask for a better experience. Upon arrival Matthew & his daughter greeted us and made us feel at home immediately. The studio is located on Matthew's property in an incredibly beautiful and quiet neighborhood. It is completely renovated and it set up to accommodate any needs you may have on your stay. The location is perfect. We were able to access every part of the city with ease. Matthew has created a home away from home to experience his city in the most comfortable way possible. If he is around while you are staying there, I highly recommend getting to know him. He is a great conversation. Truly a fantastic experience.

    Matt2016-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • We just arrived back home and already miss this excellent little apartment. Matthew greeted us when we arrived and checked in with us whenever we crossed our paths, however we never needed him for anything - the studio was perfect! All the amenities we required were at our disposal, the neighborhood was quiet and kind, and the security of having two locked entrances with our own set of keys was very reassuring. We're grateful that we opted out of the hotel option and if we find ourselves in New Orleans again, we'll cross our fingers with hopes that Matthew's place will be available! :)

    Lauren2016-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Comfortable bed, quiet neighborhood and not too far from the garden district and the French quarter.

    Erin2017-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great little studio and exactly as described. Very clean and had everything you'd need. Great location and quiet neighborhood. Got to meet Matt briefly on our way out - he was friendly and very prompt in his responses!

    Cora2017-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • The place is perfect and Matthew is an incredible host really helpful and warm with great recommendations . Thanks Matt!

    Montse2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew and Katherine were amazing! We booked a last minute stay so we could get to the airport the next morning for our early flight. It had flooded really bad the night before and we knew we wouldn't be able to make it unless we left early and stayed somewhere. Luckily, Matthew had an opening that same night! Booking was really easy and he was super flexible on arriving time! Unfortunately, Matthew was unable to be there for our stay so we didn't get to meet him. But, we did meet his girlfriend, Katherine, and she was great! The actual space is private and adorable. The shower is giant AND they allow you to use the washer and dryer that's in the space. The bed is super comfortable and they provided a little packet of information ( good restaurants, things to do, etc). I'm really sad we only got to stay for one night. We already decided, we will make another trip and actually spend some time there!

  • Absolutely loved our stay. Perfect apartment, location and places to eat nearby!

  • Great location. Clean place. Host very accommodating.

    Sean2016-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • The place was beautiful. The pictures and specifications left me a little unsure, but after talking with the renter I found that this unit had two queen size beds, a pull out couch, and a bunk bed in one of the rooms with a queen. There was also an air mattress that we didn't use. Great location, great shower. Wish I had stayed longer and utilized the kitchen.

    Stephen2016-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic visit to New Orleans. The condo was simply beautiful. It was in immaculate condition, with thoughtful items like soap for the washer left for us to use. There were seven of us for a weekend visit with plenty of space to accommodate all of us. The communication from the host was right on time for us to know where to go and how to get there. The location is fantastic. It's on a quiet street, but just a few steps away from Bourbon and Canal Street. I would definitely recommend this condo to anyone coming for a visit to New Orleans.

    Michelle2016-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great condo that slept 6 adults comfortably. Bourbon street was a short walk and anything else we could've needed was near by.

    Nicholas2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Host was able to accommodate our ever need!

    Callie2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The location was great! It was only a 5-10 minute walk to stores and/or Bourbon Street. The place was big, it was perfect for our group of 8. The bathrooms were stocked with basic bathroom necessities. The kitchen was also nice. I wish it had more kitchen supplies. There was only one towel and no hot pads. We made a couple of meals and when we needed to do dishes we had to lay them on the counter to dry, there was no drying rack. Trying to make anything in the oven was slightly difficult because we had to use the towel as a hot pad. Brad was quick to respond to any questions I had and was able to help with anything we may needed. Overall great stay, just wish the kitchen had a few more items that would have made cooking and cleaning easier.

  • The apartment is in a great location and is lovely. Close to Bourbon Streets' hijinx and even closer to entertainment and food on Frenchmen. Quiet and well appointed, there are more than enough beds on the first floor for those who can't or don't want to use the stairs. We will absolutely stay here again.

    Ayesha2016-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy two bedroom condo offers a lot of NOLA charm. The place is as advertised in the photos. The courtyard was amazing. The only negative was the stairs. They can get pretty tricky after a night on Bourbon Street. Everything else was awesome. Diana was a gracious host.

    Shane2018-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • My 3 girlfriends and I spent two nights here and we could not have been happier! The condo is in an excellent location; it's near so many fun spots but is on a quiet street. The place is gorgeous and was very clean. We loved the courtyard and balcony. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

    Meghan2016-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • This lovely spot was the perfect location for easily enjoying the French Quarter while being somewhat removed from the hustle and bustle. We especially appreciated the patio each evening and liked having an upstairs to retreat when others in the group wanted to paint the town. We did not use the kitchen, but it appeared to be equipped with the basics. This delightful residence is the ideal local for savoring all The Big Easy has to offer.

    Tana2016-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This condo is perfect for a group of 8 even 10. It is close to everything but do not expect to park here. Good thing for uber! We loved the location and cleanliness of this condo. The tiny spiral staircase was hard for some of us but we managed. Great patio space!!!

    Cassandra Kara2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • This condo was in a wonderful location, quiet and with easy access to everything (south past Jackson Square, we recommend an Uber over walking) and would be perfectly suited for someone who is on the go most of their stay or doing the party scene. As a three-generation family group, we do a little more sprawling and gathering at the end of the day than this condo is designed for, but this was so much better than multiple hotel rooms and worked just fine overall. The full-size fridge, stove, and microwave made it easy to feed everyone when we didn’t want to eat out, and the hot water outlasted three teenage girls every day. Balcony and patio were perfect for morning coffee, and location was easy to access for those driving in for a stay. We had a great time! PS - the spiral staircase is a doozy. You have to experience it to understand what the reviewers mean when mentioning it; it’s an adventure, but manageable.

The Mazant is a plantation-style home dating back to the early 1880s, located in the heart of New Orleans' Bywater arts district - and about 1-1/2 miles from the French Quarter (30 minutes walking or 8 minutes by Uber). We are close to Bacchanal, The Joint, The Country Club, Elizabeth's, and Satsuma Cafe. It's perfect for family reunions, wedding parties, company off-sites, and other large groups.
UPDATE SUMMER 2018: This summer we are making some additional updates to the house, including adding one additional queen bed (upstairs), remodeling three bathrooms, adding a new half bathroom downstairs, and doubling the size of the kitchen. New floor plans are already available online and photos will be updated by the end of September. ----- We have been working to renovate the house over the past several years, seeking to preserve historic details including 13' ceilings with plaster medallions, heart pine wood floors, cypress doors, and a 125-year old oak tree. At the same time, we updated the layout to more comfortably accommodate large groups: * 18-person dining room table * Oversized living room with 70-inch television, surround sound system, and Baldwin upright piano * Private yard (1/3 acre) with fire pit, six-burner propane BBQ, outdoor table, and hammocks * Super-fast WiFi (the top tier that Cox offers) * Front porch (gallery) with historic gas lamps and outdoor seating * Off-street parking for two cars and ample street parking for overflow The house has eight bedrooms with layout as follows: Downstairs - Bedroom 1: one queen bed (semi-private bathroom - shower) - Bedroom 2: one queen bed (ensuite bathroom - shower) Upstairs - Bedroom 3: one queen bed (ensuite bathroom - shower/tub combo) - Bedroom 4: one double bed - Bedroom 5: one twin bunkbed - Bedroom 6: one king bed - Bedroom 7: two queen beds (semi-private bathroom - shower) - Bedroom 8: one king bed There is another shared bathroom upstairs (near the laundry room) with a clawfoot tub-shower combination. Unfortunately, the caretaker's cottage is no longer available for rent.
Just down river (east) from the French Quarter - stretching from Press Street to the Industrial Canal - is the Bywater, where the mood and pace shift as you enter into the heart of an edgier yet still welcoming neighborhood. The St. Claude Arts District, centered around St. Claude Avenue, is home to more than thirty locations exhibiting visual and performance art, along with an array of artisan crafts. Down Piety Street, the fun continues with restaurants, thrift stores and more galleries. Even the homes, cafes and restaurants seem to capture Bywater's eclectic appreciation for the arts. Spend the afternoon at Crescent Park for some impressive views of downtown New Orleans and the Mississippi River. Afterward, you can thrift your way through the neighborhood before stopping in at an exhibition and finally making your way to dinner. The area's restaurants are among the most innovative in the city and are great places to sit with a cocktail and chat with locals. Above all, the Marigny and Bywater neighborhoods illustrate the relationship between the New Orleans arts scene and local life. So whether you're looking for the New Orleans of old, or if you want see where New Orleans culture is headed for the future, the Faubourg Marigny and Bywater will offer you glimpses in either direction.
  • We checked in to the Bywater Plantation House in October 2017. Reservations and check in process was hassle free. Once we got settled, we were able to walk to a few restaurants and clubs. The place is very safe. You will be thankful for the large private yard. At night we sat around the fire pit surrounded by a large outdoor sofa. You are literally situated just east of the French Quarter which is a quick Uber ride to the French Market. I would recommend this resort for families and people who want a peaceful, laid back vacation. Lots of privacy.

  • My guests and I had a great time! The house was so beautiful. I can’t wait to come back to New Orleans.

  • Wow. This place was perfect for our 15 lady bachelorette destination weekend. From the moment you arrive, you're going to be impressed; and you might think that that feeling would subside after walking through the house 3 times with your mouth hanging open, but it won't--you will be impressed from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. The house is stately, beautifully renovated with thoughtful decor, and has so many things to offer. We thoroughly enjoyed: the upstairs porch (yoga in the morning with local coffee made in the keep-15-people-easily-caffeinated Bunn coffee maker!); the firepit, grill and outdoor table (post-FQ s'mores, afternoon naps on the lawn, morning breakfasts in the sunshine); the formal dining room for our special last night feast; the hand soap (I'm not kidding, at least 4 girls have already purchased it online); the well equipped kitchen and bedrooms (real beds in beautiful rooms for everyone), and the abundance of bathrooms (I don't think I waited for a shower once all weekend). We also enjoyed the surround sound, easy temp control, and quietness of being just far enough from the quarter, but close enough to enjoy a walk along the river to the French Market (and streetcar stop). Jeff was very responsive to my questions before we arrived and provided great recommendations for the neighborhood--I'd say he went above and beyond to help make our stay feel special (I'll leave you to discover some of those surprises yourself--just delightful!). Jeff, and Kevin (the house manager) were also very accommodating in regards to check in and check out, which made my life so much easier (coordinating arrivals and departures for 15 people!). I can't wait to plan another trip, in part just to stay in this beautiful home again.

  • Loved it!!

  • What a great house with great hosts. I loved this neighborhood. We took Uber’s into town and a couple of times we walked back along the riverside park. That was a great experience at dusk and seeing the NOLA skyline from a different perspective. Plenty to do in NOLA but we also found a few locals joints. I fell in love with Bywater. And this house is amazing!

    Kelly2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We rented The Mazant over our wedding weekend for 15 members of my family as well as our rehearsal dinner/crawfish boil. Kevin and Jeff were so easy and great to work with. They even let us check in a little early knowing that we were anxious to get settled! Everyone who saw the house was stunned with the renovations inside and out. They have truly done an amazing job! I can’t wait to see our wedding prep photos that we took on site. We’re also going to plan a trip for a group of friends to come back and stay this was such an awesome experience! - Lauren and Mike

  • If you’re in New Orleans, this is the place to stay. It’s stylish, beautiful, super convenient, walkable to EVERYTHING. Brent is such a fantastic host, he answers every question before you even have a chance to ask. I will be staying here again.

    Kendra2017-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nice modern clean apartment safe and secure, close to everything, loved how easy it was to check in (lockbox on site with 24 hr doorman) even at 3am...parking garage right behind the building is $20 for 24 hrs (back of building, not the $30 one next to the front lobby), loved the outdoor communal hot tub on the 3rd floor patio! Brent was very communicative and made the whole process very easy. Would definitely recommend!

    Anne2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • The building in the photos is not the building that the apartment is in.

    Kelley2018-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Brent's place is super clean and safe, and within short walking distance of the French quarter. It's a minimally decorated apartment in a modern building with a doorman, simple to get in and out of. If you're looking for NOLA charm and quirkiness this isn't it. But if you're looking for a great value in a well-located spot, this is your find.

    Drew2017-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and great location. Brent was a fantastic host and we will definitely stay there again on our next trip to NO!

    Megan2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • perfect. I will call me again!

    Lexin2017-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very clean and neat. It is an open, roomy studio with great air conditioning (which was absolutely necessary!) and the washer/dryer were a great feature. It was located perfectly for our needs which were for Tulane graduation exercises. Check in was pretty easy and there is 24 hr security. There were three issues and one was fairly minor. The main issue was the bed. Apart from being small, it provided no support and I can only describe it as "noisy" - not squeaky noisy either, but more like crinkly, crackly noisy - I likened it to sleeping in a bag of Doritos. Literally EVERY move you made got immediate, audible feedback from the bed and it was loud enough to wake us up. We slept on the futon after the first night, which was decidedly more comfortable and most importantly, quiet. I had my son sit on the bed to make sure I wasn't hearing things - I wasn't. I also recorded the sounds with my Apple Watch and sent them to Brent for some audio proof! To his credit, while there wasn't much he could do, Brent did respond right away and said he would have someone look at it after we left. That was the biggest thing and not that big of a deal, but they need to break down and buy a better bed all around. The next thing is there is a big walk in closet, but not too many hangers and there is NO dresser. I had two suits and three shirts and needed some hangers, my wife had some dresses and blouses that needed to hang and there weren't enough. As there was no dresser, my wife lived out of her suitcase and I put my non-hanging clothes in the cabinet in the bathroom - suitable, but not ideal. A dresser should be added and could fit in the big closet. Lastly, the most minor thing, at least for me, but I'm sure not the people affected - the gym on the 2d floor is a perfectly serviceable gym, but while working out one morning, I let some heavy dumbbells drop and a long term resident came to the gym and asked me not to do that as they can hear and feel it in their apartment. I felt terrible and of course complied with his reasonable request for the rest of my workout. My beef was that he said management has been working on this issue, but there wasn't a sign in sight. Something as simple as a few well-placed signs, in big, bold lettering would have been a simple enough fix to avoid that issue and then some rubber matting on the floor would help as well - but c'mon, AT LEAST a few signs! Overall though, I was happy with the place and the communication.

    Wyatt2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Brent was an amazing Host. Super host to say the least. He was very accommodating, throughout the entire check in and check out process. The apartment was very clean and stylish. I would definitely stay here again.

This lovely and historic cottage is located just steps from the French Quarter. Enjoy comfort and privacy in a classic New Orleans cottage. There are two bedrooms, and one bath. The cottage is cable and wifi equipped.
This is a true New Orleans cottage, charming and comfortable.
We are on a gorgeous street, very close to the French Quarter.
  • My family stayed in Katherine's house for 4 days visiting New Orleans. It could not have been a nicer, more perfect place to stay. The house is cheerfully decorated and feels spacious, it is thoughtfully equipped for light cooking and relaxing. The beds are very comfortable and the shower spacious with good water pressure. The TV and living room were perfect places to return to after a long day out in NOLA. We particularly enjoyed returning to a quiet neighborhood at the end of the day. There was also a small patio to sit in when the weather is nice. Katherine was a gracious host who welcomed us enthusiastically, she gave us a great orientation to the area and kindly provided coffee, OJ and water in the fridge. Rain was expected, so Katherine had umbrellas on hand in case we hadn't brought our own. The house is also conveniently located to near Esplanade Ave. between the city museum and park and French Quarter. Although we walked a lot, we also rented a car, and parked right outside our door. When I booked the reservation, a message popped up that said "Katherine's place is rarely vacant", now I know why. Thank you Katherine!

    Judy2015-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very charming property that has a spacious common area. We also enjoyed that we could park our car right at the door :) The best part is the hostess. Katharine was so pleasant and made us feel very welcomed.

  • Beautiful place! Very accommodating. Came in and was greeted with great recommendations for meals and sightseeing. Definitely recommended with top marks.

    Juan2016-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy's home is cute and comfortable and in a perfect location if you want to see New Orleans outside of the French Quarter. Kathy was welcoming and had tons of advice on neighborhood restaurants and things to do. Her laminated guide gave us great restaurant recommendations and things to do. Her best recommendation may have been the takeout fried chicken place across the street. So good.

    Jon2016-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Planning my sister'a 21st was stressful trying to have everything just perfect, and Katharine definitely made it very easy! We arrived a little earlier than expected and she greeted us with open arms and gave us a tour of the GORGEOUS cottage. Looks exactly like how it pictured guys. I was skeptical being a first time Air BnB user but our experience here was amazing. The fridge was stocked with beer|OJ|water, pantry with coffee and table with great suggestions of eateries, transportation, etc. Kat gave us the rundown on where to grab a bite and we literally lived minutes from cute cafés and bistros. (Check out Café Degas

  • Close to everything via uber. $10 uber to bourbon street. Was so nice to have a house instead of a hotel to stay. Everything was clean and the owner was extremely nice and sweet. I will definitely stay here next time I come to town

  • Highly recommend Kathy's place! She was a wonderful host and super accommodating for our groups' specific needs regarding unpredictable weather. It was comfortable and so cute! Would definitely stay here again!

  • The house was really comfortable and well maintained. Using the bikes to get around was a really great bonus. New Orleans is full of life and this house offers a bit of peace and quiet while still close to all the hustle and bustle!

  • felt the love! a quirky and cute Lil place in n'orleans. charming and relaxing.

    Amelia2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is the greatest spot. I stayed in the Gold Room. Way cheaper than the other place I stayed in New Orleans, and also nicer - the other place didn't have Wifi and there was cat hair on everything (I'm allergic). Only met Andrew, but he was very attentive and friendly, didn't have time to make use of the free bikes but free bikes there are. Air conditioner in room, fast internet, super funky and interesting decor. Jesus and poop decorations in bathroom. Golden canopy bed with silk sheets - very romantic. Great location, everything about this place is great.

    So2013-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Just as advertised. Bed was awesome. Very clean. Could've had BBQ with the laid back neighbors.

    Marvin2014-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • the parlor was awesome. the bed was a cozy sleeping space, everything was really clean, i could control the AC, and the front room tenant was very quiet. I got to use a bike the whole time i was in town. Good all around.

    James2014-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • I guess me and my boyfriend had an out of the ordinary experience while staying in The Peach Parlor because our time there was awful. I generally like to stay in quirky places for a one of a kind experience, but we spent our time there saying that we couldn't wait to leave The Peach Parlor. We never met Andrew and he had very minimal contact with us. From what I can tell, he is out of the country, but he never told me that himself or asked if we needed anything or checked in at all. We came in our first night while Amanda had guests and were not greeted very warmly. We did meet Alex who was extremely friendly and welcoming. The pictures were slightly deceiving, the actual room was not as bright or as roomy as it looked, which was not a big deal. The overall cleanliness of the room was unacceptable. The loft area was not clean and had a very unpleasant smell to it. (My boyfriend also found some very large bugs crawling in the sink of the bathroom.) There was an AC in the room which was nice but it did not reach the loft where you will be sleeping. There were two fans there but it was still difficult to fall asleep until later in the night when the overall temperature cooled down. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on and both of us work up feeling sore and very tired from a restless night. I would absolutely not recommend this house or this host to stay with. Maybe we got an unlucky experience considering most reviews seem to be very positive, but based on our stay, I'd find somewhere else if you're planning a trip to Nola.

    Ryan2016-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Clean ... Helpful with local tips ... Would highly recommend

    Cody2016-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Le Beach Parlor is just fine if you know what you're getting yourself into, but a bit of a surprise if you go in based on the description on here. The "private room" is actually a room right in the middle of the house that is attached to a bedroom where someone must go through your room to get to the one bathroom and kitchen - not so private. The house is also not in the best neighborhood - every cab driver I gave the address to had no clue where we were going. The free bikes were nice. I was extremely disappointed to arrive and learn that this was not a private room. Especially when that is how it is listed on here. We ended up paying a lot to get a hotel room our second night just so we could have some privacy. The place is just fine - but you all should go in knowing what to expect. The description of this place is not completely accurate.

  • Jo + Tyler's place was very cute and clean. It was in a great neighborhood a 20 minute walk from the French Quarter. Their communication was clear and they were available to answer any questions we had. The walls of the place are a little thin so you can hear your neighbor a bit. Overall, it was a nice place and we are very happy we stayed there.

  • Cute, cosy, clean apartment in a location convenient to the French Quarter, Bourbon Street and Frenchmens Street. Loved our stay here! Would recommend.

  • This place is very cute and lively! Its location is perfect for a quick drive to the french quarter. I loved it staying there. Jo was a great host and responded quickly if we needed anything. I recommend this place to anyone when visiting New Orleans!

    Annie2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • This space was absolutely perfect! It was a five minute Uber ride from both the French Quarter and Magazine Street/Garden District. Jo was speedy in response to any questions that arose, but was otherwise super hands-off; which was absolutely perfect! The space was clean, well stocked with any necessities, and super homey and comfortable. She even included a written list of recommended bars/restaurants-which was greatly appreciated!

    Sean2017-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed our stay. While the neighborhood appeared a little rough around the edges, we never had any problems. The place was spacious, clean, and located just a short walk or Uber from the French quarter and Frenchmen street.

    Ben2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • I'm sorry I have to give a bad review because the hosts seem lovely. However, there are two things I expect when I book a room anywhere: that I will feel safe & that I will get a good night's sleep. #1 Safety - Neither the front nor the back doors lock securely. I was in a constant state of unease due to this, which helped contribute to #2. On top of the constant fear of a break-in or a door swinging open because the lock didn't latch, the smoke detector in the kitchen/living room was disabled and removed from the ceiling. Because of this, I didn't feel safe turning on fans, lamps, the stove, or the coffee pot. (The stove being a big reason to stay in a bnb over a hotel.) #2 Sleep - (see above) This is a duplex and the walls are very thin. The next-door neighbors were incredibly rowdy all day and night. They seemed to be wrestling, screaming, and pounding on walls/floors without stop. Additionally, the apartment is very bright and sunny and the sheer curtains do virtually nothing to keep out sunlight. As a result we were awoken each day with the sunrise, unable to go back to sleep. #3 Bug Bite – After sitting on your couch very briefly, my husband received a bed bug bite right above his pant line. The way the bite acted and where the placement was is all in line with bed bugs. We were very careful after this not to use the sofa or leave any of our bags/belongings on the floor, but my worry now is that we could have taken some home. The couch is beautiful, but we’re worried about where it might have come from (ie: the street or a thrift store). We're very disappointed in our stay and we wish we had just stayed at a hotel.

  • Beautiful house not far from the French quarter - very spacious, ideal for single travelers and couples. Shanon and Jil were available at all times and had even left a wine bottle for us to open upon arrival!

  • It was great! Clean and cozy. About a 1 mile walk to the French Quarter or a $7 Uber ride.

Our cool and comfortable studio apartment is the perfect little hideaway to retreat to after enjoying this beautiful city. It comfortably fits two and is located in the beautiful Oak lined neighborhood of Carrolton. Just one block from the Carrolton/St.Charles Streetcar line and walking distance to many restaurants/bars.
You have private access to a bottom floor studio apartment. You will have full private access to the whole studio and come and go as you please.
My studio is nestled on the bottom floor of my two story house and I currently occupy the upstairs so I will be available for anything you may need. Located in the beautiful neighborhood of Carrolton, it's far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the CBD and French Quarter, but one block from the Carrolton/St Charles Street car line (20 minute ride on the streetcar to downtown or Napoleon Avenue where all the uptown Mardi Gras parades start). Oak street is a 4 block walk from the apartment where there are a lot of local restaurants and bars including the famous Maple Leaf bar and Jacques-Imo's Creole Restaurant. Just a few more blocks down is the famous diner Camellia Grill and the streetcar can take you directly Downtown/French Quarter and the shopping on Magazine street.
  • Claire's place was cozy and welcoming . My hubby and I were in NOLA for a birthday trip and it was the perfect location . The studio is far enough from the hustle and bustle but close enough to ride the streetcars ( a must for any NOLA trip ) . If I return to New Orleans I would stay at Claire's again .

  • My girlfriend and I loved staying at Claire's. the place was clean and quiet, everything as expected. And the bed was very comfortable, which was much appreciated as we had been camping the two nights prior. Would be happy to stay again and definitely recommend.

  • Claire’s studio apartment was perfect for a quick stay over during my holiday travels with my pup. The place was very clean, and the available coffee and snacks were a nice touch. Claire was very responsive as well. I would definitely stay here again.

    Eric2017-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • The best thing about Claire's place was her location. Close to groceries, public transportation, and the freeway. Also free parking, cost to park at the hotel can be 30-40 a night. However, her place was so very dirty. The walls and doors were dirty. To use the kitchen we would have had to give it a cleaning first. The pots were covered in dust. grime and old. The first fork I pulled out had food in it. The stove top was covered in old grease, we never looked inside. We decided not to use the kitchen except to make sandwiches. One our 3rd day the kitchen sink backed up and we had to use the plunger to keep from overflowing. Claire was apologetic but also new there had been previous plumbing issues. The bathroom vent was also dirty and dusty. My husband cleaned the vent so the dirt wouldn't fall on him in the bathroom. The toilet bowl has black streaks from not being cleaned. There was a old used soap bar for us to use in the shower and the towels were stained and worn. The linen for the bedding was also stained and worn. The bed itself was not comfortable and the bed frame was homemade and a safety hazard. The boards that supported the bed stuck out a foot and moved. The window covering beside the bed was stained and windows were dirty. The pictures are accurate but the do not show how dirty Claire's place is.

  • The space was clean and perfect for my boyfriend and I. Since we were only staying in town for one night, we weren't there very much and it provided us much comfort.

    Tessa2016-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Claire's home is in a great location. The neighorhood is lovely, safe, and very walkable, which my dog loved. The space was clean and just right for my needs. I definitely recommend Claire's home. Thanks Claire!

    Kay2018-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Claire was a great host! She was quick to respond and the room was nice and clean. I would definitely stay here again if I get the chance.

    Dustin2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was perfect! Claire was always easy to reach, and the place was clean, cozy and quiet. She even left out bottled water and bags of chips. It's in a quiet neighborhood close to public transportation and a Walgreens if you need to pick up a few things.

Why rent a room when you can rent a tiny house for your trip to New Orleans. This 650 sq ft home is just steps away from the French Quarter. Everything from Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street, streetcar, bikeshare, and the Central Business District are all just a short stroll away. Private entrance through luscious garden. Perfect for a couple or a couple of friends. Cleaning free is included in nightly rate so there are no extra hidden fees with this listing. (City License: 18STR-15360)
Our guesthouse is located in the rear of our property. Estimated to have been built in 1837 (the same date as the main house), this space has gone through a total transformation. A mix of modern and old New Orleans bundled into a small house. There are 8 sets of French doors, and 4 sets of casement windows, allowing for the space to be drenched in natural light. When the weather is nice and a cool breeze is blowing, there is nothing better than opening all the doors and windows so you can take in all the sounds the neighborhood has to offer. Downstairs is an open living room and kitchen area with a complete 4 piece kitchen suite (full sized fridge stocked with bottled water and a Keurig with coffee), and a moveable island. There is also a flat screen TV with DVR, HBO (so you don't have to worry about missing Game of Thrones), Netflix and Amazon Prime. Netflix and Prime are already logged in for you to use. A spiral staircase leads you upstairs where there is a king sized bed, walk-in closet, a spacious bathroom, and 12 foot ceilings with exposed beams. Want to lounge outside? Hang out in the shared courtyard or if you prefer privacy there is a private patio behind the guesthouse. Parties over 2 persons will not be considered and will be turned away upon arrival. Parking is street parking which is unrestricted and free to all. Cleaning fee is included in the nightly rate so there is no extra hidden fees when staying with us. (City License: 18STR-15360)
The Treme is a wonderful and unique neighborhood unlike any other in the United States. St. Augustine Church is on the corner, which leads to many Jazz Funerals and Second Lines. The church also has an amazing Sunday Mass that is open to the public. As a younger nephew noted, "It's not really Sunday Mass, it's a concert!" Mardi Gras Indians regularly wander the neighborhood, as well as brass bands, musicians, and a pair of cowboys who are always walking their llamas, Shetland ponies, and goats. There is always something going on and the people in the neighborhood are friendly and talkative. You can learn just as much about New Orleans from the folks on the street in the Treme as you could with a tour guide charging you an arm and a leg to walk around the Quarter.
  • I cannot recommend Bret’s place enough. It’s amazing! Fantastic location close to everything but also quiet and private. Bret was fantastic to communicate with and had plenty of local tips. The place is spacious and thoughtfully furnished with all the creature comforts needed for a short or long stay. It is spacious with a full kitchen and even has a walk in robe. And the garden is just beautiful. Everything about our stay was perfect. Highly recommend!

    Nell2018-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Bret is a outstanding host. It was my first time using Air BNB I will definitely do it again.

    Jason2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Brad was so helpful getting us all settled in. He contacted us ahead of time, kept in constant communication, gave us a tour of the property and tips on our stay in New Orleans. He is a really nice, laid back & funny guy. As far as the place itself, the pictures don't even do it justice. We were blown away by how nice it was! We didn't want to go do anything else after checking in. Haha. It is so unique and completely spotless. Everything is really high quality from the decor to the pillows. We just wish we would have booked it for the entire trip instead of just a couple days. Love love love it.

    Kenneth 2016-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Bret were amazing hosts. They provided excellent information and communication the whole time. The place itself is simply the find of the decade for us as well. It is just as close to the FQ as advertised. And the guest house is even better than the pictures and has a really cool history. We hope to be able to come back here to stay when we come back in the future. What an amazing find!

  • A wonderful place, it has been beautifully restored in a great location on the edge of everything. The hosts are lovely, very helpful and welcoming. We would definitely recommend this place, its private but convenient to all over New Orleans. Grab the fried chicken from the gas station nearby, it's the best!

    Natalie2017-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely recommend!! Beautiful, charming, clean, modern apartment in a wonderful location. Less than a block to the french quarter. The available street parking saved a lot of money. Brad was a great host! Gave us space but was just a text away for food recommendations or anything else we needed. You can tell he enjoys hosting and goes out of his way to give all guests a great experience. The apartment had everything we didn't know we needed, including a cute and helpful first aid kit. We will definitely stay here again!

    Hayley2015-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Location was great, the guesthouse itself was absolutely gorgeous. Spacious, bright and charming. Brad and Bret were fantastic hosts, provided information when requested and made us feel at home. Definitely will rebook with them on our next visit.

    Rich2016-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Brad was waiting outside when we arrived. We rented a car, as we had to do some traveling outside of the area. There was street parking and it seemed perfectly safe. The house was clean and comfortable. There were plenty of clean, white towels, which my daughters enjoyed. The refrigerator was stocked with cold water and there were k-cups for coffee. The kitchen was fully stocked for meal prep, although we never cooked! We were able to walk all over the French Quarter and down to Frenchman St. for jazz. There were plenty of people walking around as we walked down Esplanade to Frenchmen in the evening. One night we had a party to attend in the French Quarter and we took a quick Uber back to the house. The dogs were quiet and I never saw them, except when I went to the main house. The courtyard was charming, with a fountain! The house has French doors and all the charm of traditional New Orleans. I would definitely return to Brad's!!

This cute 1 bedroom/1 bathroom apartment truly feels like an oasis. Let it be your refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is located in Treme on Bayou Road, near the famed French Quarter. Perfect for Jazz Fest and other events. Book today!
Our apartment is located in a historic home. You'll appreciate the beauty of the original floors and finishes. The furnishings are both comfortable and functional, while honoring the style of the home. We can comfortably accommodate two people, although a third person could definitely sleep on the couch.
You'll love the neighborhood. Tremé is a culturally rich area, full of gorgeous architecture and a deep musical tradition. It's an easy walk to the French Quarter and famed Congo Square. Also nearby is St. Louis Cemetary #1, resting place of Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau.
  • Brandon's house is the perfect place for your stay! Only a 20 min walk to the French Quarter and the small apartment within the house was perfect for two of us. We were barely there since we were exploring but had we needed some more downtown or kitchen amenities, all of those pieces would have been covered. It was sparkling clean and although the house itself is older, it's been updated so you feel like you're in a modern space with old charm.

    Tara2018-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Brandon's place for 4 days and had a wonderful time. It's beautiful apartment - impeccably decorated and stocked with all the essentials. Location is quiet and convenient to walk into the French Quarter and Marigny in 20 minutes; however, we would recommend an uber / lyft late at night. Truedell was accommodating and super easy to coordinate with. She gave us many great recommendations for music and food! We'd highly recommend this apartment for anyone's stay.

    Pallavi2017-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Trudell and her daughter were more than helpful when checking in. The apt is amazing and located in the French Quarter away from all the madness. The apt was clean and just like what is advertised. My guest and I instantly were impressed. Will definitely recommend this to friends and family and will hopefully stay here on our next visit.

  • We were awoken at 3:30 in the morning by intruders who came into our room, and sat on our couch, in front of our computer, while we slept. When my boyfriend yelled from the bedroom demanding to know who they were, they fled out the front door and hid. We thought they left, but soon heard someone hiding in an area in the house that was under construction. My boyfriend found a man and woman hiding in an uninhabitable apartment and asked who authorized them to be in the house. Another man came into the building after the hiding “guests” refused to leave. He is the one who unlocked our door and admitted he was a construction worker at the property. He didn’t know the people but said he was told to let them in, but would not say by whom. The woman said “Uncle Mike said we could come here.” There was no mention of Brandon – and I did not know who Uncle Mike was. None of the intruders produced paperwork or offered any phone contacts to verify they belonged there. When the intruders refused to leave or identify themselves the male came at my boyfriend, who held him away at arm’s length until they agreed to leave. I was scared they would return, and there was no interior lock on our door to prevent entrance, which is a serious safety issue. These intruders had entered our locked door before, and there was no way to keep them out. I did not hear from Brandon during my entire stay. Brandon’s “Aunt Denise” let us in, showed us the unit across the hall that was under construction, and told us we had the entire house to ourselves except for the construction workers. This was the first time we were notified there was construction going on. When we tried to access the Wi-Fi, it required a code. I sent Brandon text messages requesting the code, and he never responded. Despite repeated text messages to Brandon for various things, I never once received a return message from Brandon during my entire stay. Other than our apartment, the house was uninhabitable, and the construction workers had keys and full access to the apartment we rented. The large group of unsupervised workers turned off our water, made noise from 7AM to 7PM, partied in the house, left tools, slippery sawdust, and extension cords on the stairs and entry areas, and smoked in the house. We had to step over the power tools and cords to get in and out. To make matters worse, later that day after leaving the apartment hours earlier, I received harassing telephone calls from someone identifying himself as “Michel.” I do not know who gave this person my phone number, but he repeatedly called and left two very angry, disturbing voice mail messages –ranting, raging, and screaming profanities and threats. I feared for our safety and would have reported this to the police had our flight not been that...

    Susan2014-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Brandon’s home was a great respite in Treme. Clean, beautifully decorated apartment in a safe, friendly area with new cafes and nightlife. Highly recommend.

Semi-private room* in a cute and cozy shotgun house in the Marigny. 15 minute walk to the French Quarter, 12 minutes to Frenchmen St., 2 minutes to the Bywater. Located around the corner from a few restaurants, bars, a coffee shop, and grocery store. *Note, this room is yours and yours alone, but people have to walk through it to get to their room.
The house is a classic shotgun, a very common style of architecture for homes here in New Orleans. Our bedroom is the first room in the house, and we rent the next three rooms to guests (see our profile for links to the other rooms). Each room is arranged one behind the other. You will be walking through two bedrooms to get to your room, and while you'll have your room to yourself, people will have to walk past your room to access the kitchen, other bedrooms, backyard, and bathroom. Both doorways have doors which you can close for more privacy. Please look through our photos to see the "blueprints" of our house, this will give you an idea to how it's laid out. Your room is the third room in the house. It comes furnished with a built in bed, curtain for privacy, XL twin mattress, reading lamp, a chair, vanity with a large mirror, clean sheets, fresh blankets, four pillows, a towel, and a white noise machine to cancel out house noises. The room accommodates one comfortably.
Our location is probably our greatest feature. Our house is centrally located in the Marigny. Frenchmen St. jazz and music clubs are only six blocks away, the French Quarter is a ten minute, nine-block walk away in one direction, and the Bywater (neighborhood) is just over the train tracks, two blocks in the other direction. We are one block from Mardi Gras Zone, a 24 hour organic grocery store (now with an alcohol license!), and three blocks from Hank's, a 24 hour convenience store (where you can stock up on alcohol and fried chicken). Flora's Coffee shop is two blocks away. There are eight bars (ranging from fancy cocktail bars to dive bars) within a three block radius.
  • Excellent! Great location, hosts and accommodations.

  • Had a great time at there house. They made me feel welcome and helped me figure how to get around. Thanks!

  • Katie and Matt and me went out to Markey's the last night there and they came to hear me play with the Loose Marbles one night too. The location is close to Frenchmen St. clubs (about 5 blocks).. This part of the Marigny is quiet at night.

    Robert2015-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my stay at this place. The location is great - close to Frenchmen street, and a lot of restaurants and bars. The hosts have painstakingly put together a lovely and helpful list of restaurants and bars in and around NOLA. The room is quiet, and surprisingly private, considering it’s a shotgun style house. I slept great, and for the most part, didn’t notice people walking about. It’s a very well maintained house and is extremely clean. Mikey, who is house sitting while the hosts are away, is fantastic. It was awesome hanging out with him, and his advice on how to see the city, and things to do, were super helpful. He went above and beyond to be helpful. Huxley (the dog) is fun to be around too. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody visiting NOLA. I will stay here again when I visit next. Thanks for the lovely stay guys.

    Revanth2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Arthur is a truly wonderful and unique host! He shared his home as well as a little bit of New Orleans. The place is a quick walk to the French Quarter and very comfortable. I was very happy with my experience in the Marigny!

  • Staying at Marigny with Katie&Matthijs affordable room was a delight. If you are looking for a place just to stay for overnight which was simple but most important of all clean and safe I would recommend it highly. It was in a quiet authentic New Orleans street and close to all entertainment areas, which was a walking distance away what made it enjoyable.I thoroughly enjoyed it.

    Bulent2014-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Katie and Matthijs have Airbnb hosting down to an art! Everything from arrival to check out is super smooth. The house was awesome, very New Orleans. Their area guides are extremely detailed, the info provided how to get to the house is great and the pics don't do the house justice. It's a very quirky double shotgun house. This means that you will get traffic through your room by other guests and Katie and Matthijs. But it was exactly as described in the listing and I think adds to the charm of the place. Katie and Matthijs are also very friendly down to earth people who are really knowledgeable about all things New Orleans and just all round good people. I'd highly recommend this if you're looking for a real NOLA stay.

    Jasmin2015-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • I reserved last minute and they responded immediately. Very affordable price and they provide you with everything you need. Clean space with wood floors. Friendly folks that respect your space but are available and accessible when you need them. They do have a dog but they dog also respects your space. I wasn't there to really explore New Orleans bit if I wanted to, I was in the ideal location to do it. Parking is not reserved and I feared finding a spot because I know parking is crazy in New Orleans, but on a Thursday night there am were a few spots open one block down.

  • Hosts are lovely people. The apt is tiny and not logically appointed. The sun beats in through the front windows, and the supplemental cooling system is noisy. The price was good and the hosts well intentioned, but it just didn’t work for me.

  • Second time staying with leonor, she is soooo sweet and the place is perfect distance to get away from the French Quarter madness, but real easy to get to everything. Leonor is an awesome host and we fully recommend this place.

    Sameer2018-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice home you have your own private entry and huge space to park which was super convenient for me because I have a pickup that I typically have a hard time finding parking for. Super clean and Leonor is the friendliest most accommodating host. However it was a little warm in there bc the AC unit/fan hits the bed and doesn’t really circulate.

    Catherine2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • I was wrapping up a housesit and prepping to travel to Atlanta and needed a place to stay for the night. Brandon (and Leonor's) place was perfect. My car was packed up with a summer's worth of stuff, and it was AMAZING to have off-street, gated parking so I didn't have to unpack it (this has nothing to do with the neighborhood - it has everything to do with New Orleans' period - or anywhere for that matter). The outside space was nice, and Leonor even had a couple of her pups come back to play with my pup for a bit. The studio is fine. It's small, but it's worth every single penny. Certainly would be best for 1 or 2 people. It's super close to City Park and the Lake, which is really nice if you need a spot for your pup to run (or if you need a place to run), and is just a short drive (or Uber) to the French Quarter, Uptown, Freret, etc.

This free standing casita, tucked away in a tropical garden, includes a small refrigerator with refreshments, jazz records, New Orleans literature, and a clawfoot tub. Off of Esplanade Avenue, it is halfway between the French Quarter and City Park.
The casita is located in the backyard of a side-gallery shotgun cottage. I have been renting it through Airbnb for two years but recently changed to my on profile. The main house was built as part of a series of shotguns developed by two brother from Cienfuegos, Cuba in the early 1860s. The casita is its own building, built in a modern design in 2010. You can come and go as you please through our lush side garden. Inside, there is a very comfortable queen sized bed and bathroom with a clawfoot tub. You are welcome to use the washer and dryer and there is a small refrigerator and kettle. We include some local snacks as part of your stay. We also have a record player with music from New Orleans and books from the region and my own nonprofit publishing organization, the Neighborhood Story Project, for you to enjoy while you are here.
This old Creole neighborhood, in the heart of downtown New Orleans, is in between the French Quarter and City Park. Just a block and a half off Esplanade Avenue, a beautiful boulevard canopied in live oak trees, it is also very close to Bayou Road, the first road in New Orleans! From the house, you can walk to this street, where there is a wonderful collection of shops, including the Pagoda Cafe with the best coffee in town and wonderful breakfast and lunch (located in an old Chinese laundry building), the King and Queen's Emporium (which sells handmade soaps in one of the city's first public market buildings), the CocoHut (New Orleans/Jamaican food), and Domino Sounds Record Shop, which has been featured in national publications as one of the best record stores in the country.
  • This place is so perfect for 1 person! It was small for me and my boyfriend, but that's just a personal problem haha! There were plenty of essentials (really good beer in the fridge, deodorant, etc) but I actually left some beer in the fridge actually so cheers! Perfect & private place for jazz fest

    Allison2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved the casita at Rachel's. It had everything we really needed and anything we lacked Rachel supplied (messaging Rachel was the best form of contact for this busy, responsible lady). Paul and I look after my 86-year-old mother at home in London, so the relaxing, independent style of the casita was really welcome - a much-needed holiday. The two chairs outside the casita are romantically placed under bamboo canes and the drinks and nibbles Rachel left for us on arrival we gratefully received. The record player with jazz records supplied was a stylishly appropriate touch and the smell of the lemon tree nearby, a charmingly evocative welcome. It was interesting both living and enjoying New Orleans in a "local", friendly area rather than solely focusing on, for example, the touristy French Quarter, which was (of course)also great! And not far away. We unexpectedly made quite a number of friends, especially via the Pagoda Cafe which Rachel rightly recommended as a local "hub".

  • What a great place!!! Thanks Rachel!

    Derek2018-02-09T00:00:00Z

    Hannah2016-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect escape in New Orleans! We loved the Casita and the surrounding neighborhood! Rachel provided us with the perfect guide for exploring New Orleans and all her suggestions were top notch!

    Lauren2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • The casita is a fantastic place to stay away from the craziness that can be found in other areas of New Orleans. Rachel had so many thoughtful touches in the casita -- from local Louisiana favorites like Abita beer and Zapp's chips, to cold water in the minifridge and an incredible guide to the area. Will definitely stay here next time I come back!

    Mike2018-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Rachel’s Casita. It was just far enough to be away from the crazy of downtown and the French Quarter but still close enough to walk or take a short Uber ride. The backyard is gorgeous, I loved the palm trees! Rachel left us some cake when we arrived and there were snacks and tea. We also really appreciated her working with us when our flight was changed and we got in at 11 am instead of 2!

Stay in your own sleek New Orleans Condo, complete with modern amenities and a nod to the beautiful historic architecture. Step outside and find your way easily towards the Quarter and music scene of Frenchmen St. Can be combined with Modern Condo II to sleep up to 8. Parking Available directly in front of building.
Totally renovated Old Plank Flooring 1930's Fireplace New Kitchen GREAT Location
Ideally situated in a great neighborhood- everyone with a story to tell! An easy walk to tourists spots as well as where the locals like to hang. Brunch spots, a wine bar and music venues all a very brief walk away.
  • This little studio was just what my friend and I needed for a weekend in New Orleans. Marcus was super nice and checked in to make sure everything was going ok. I liked that the door just had a key code so we didn't have to carry a key around. The wifi worked great! 4 towels and lots of washcloths were provided. The location is about 7 blocks from Frenchman. Personally, I would have felt comfortable walking there during the day, but my friend did not. At night, definitely not. But ubers were easily accessible so it wasn't a big deal. The only other thing I didn't like is that the shower/tub is Euro still so the shower head is not attached to the wall above you. Not a big deal for me though. There is a kitchen but not a lot of counter space. I'd recommend eating the delicious food of New Orleans anyways! Overall, I would definitely recommend this place! Thanks, Marcus!

    Allison2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great apt! Hotel feeling, in local neighborhood. Close to everything! Frenchmen st was down a few blocks & was one of my favorite streets to hangout in. Overall great stay! Marcus was also very responsive & nice! Thanks again!

  • The condo space itself is great - easy to set yourself up for a stay. Probably not the area I had anticipated when seeing "blocks from the quarter" - advised by taxi driver to not walk around at night. The area is fairly underdeveloped and a little "rough." Communication was not great - had to ask several times for the info and when we arrived cleaner had also just arrived (due to a miscommunication). We had to leave our bags and go for lunch while they finished, which I wasn't totally comfortable with in a new place.

    Carly2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • For the price, a decent flat. The bed sits next to the front door, and also the front windows, so the street light outside is pretty bright. All in all, I had a good stay, so could have been worse. I would have liked to be able to walk a bit more at night.

    Toran2018-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed staying at Marcus' place. Solid, comfortable apartment in THE BEST location. Quiet and away from the hustle and bustle, but literally just a few minutes walk to everywhere you want to be in Nola.

    Amanda2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was a good experience. Marcus's place is accurate as the listing, very modern and well equipped. We felt like being in a four star hotel. He provided every needed things in the bath room and kitchen. 7 mins drive to the French quarter given construction. Close to everything if you choose to uber. We did not meet Marcus but he was responsive over text. He texted us the WiFi code and door code before we arrive. The neighborhood is under development and I would not necessarily walk by myself. Overall it was a good choice!

    Yen2016-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Marcus's place was fine. Just what we needed. In a decent part of town.

    Kyah & Mac2016-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Marcus' apartment was perfect for 3 of us to stay for 4 days. We walked easily to Frenchman st, and always got an uber easily at night. The apartment was cute, modern, clean and comfortable. Not many kitchen appliances, so don't expect to cook easily. We parked our big van directly out the front, and Marcus was always available if we needed to contact him. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Licence # (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) -rent Private room in a shared home, centrally located in historic "Bywater" neighborhood where we are all friends + love our city. Free Bikes + Full Kitchen!
THE HOUSE OF SWEET DREAMS Hi, and welcome! I'm Andrew, glad you found my listing! Here is a list of all the useful info about my house: **Pricing Fluctuates During Seasons/Holidays $45 is base price** "The Marie Antoinette Room" is decorated and is an environment for you to feel welcome and at home with a New Orleans appeal. I am flexible and available to accomodate any check-in or check-out time however, for regularity sake I suggest: Check in after 3pm Check out before 11am Check out my other listings, full of great reviews, and happy guests! :)
I Live in the Historic "Bywater Neighborhood" Close to the "French Quarter/Bourbon St." Downtown and the Historic Marigny Neighborhood/Frenchman Street A safe area where everyone looks out for one another, with families and young entrepreneurs dotting the area with eclectic bars, eateries and shops. Our house is a calm and beautiful ride along the Mississippi 1.5 miles to the French Quarter down beautiful South Peters Ave. Commonly sought after attractions within 1.5 miles of our house are: Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street, French Quarter, Louis Armstrong Park, French Market, Spotted Cat, Cafe Negril, Blue Nile, The Maison, Apple Barrel, Coop's Place, Mardi Gras Zone, Mimi's in the Marigny, All Ways Lounge, and the Bywater, Marigny, 7th Ward, and Treme neighborhoods.
  • The directions to take public transit from the airport were super helpful and saved me significant coin not having to take a cab. Although it does take a while to get there so conduct your own cost:benefit analysis. First thing you notice is that the neighbourhood looks a little rougher than you expected based on the pictures, but, that being said, I never had any issues and I both walked and biked around (although I never walked back at night - only cabbed or biked). Only an $8-$15 cab ride to anywhere in the French Quarter. The house has helpful little maps to make sure you find your room, and the door codes/key system worked seamlessly. Place was clean and quiet. Only saw the person who was watching Andrew's place once, and she was very nice. LOVED the little pamphlet provided with a map and list of places to go/things to do! Used it a lot and even kept it as a souvenir. Also very much appreciated the access to laundry and the free bike usage! Really happy with my stay at Andrew's. Would stay again and likely will when I go back to Louisiana!

    Susan2015-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • I was in New Orleans for a week with a friend of mine. I was definitely taking the "play it by ear" approach for parts of the trip. I contacted Andrew one day and was surprised and appreciative how quickly he responded and how helpful he was with my many questions. The house itself was very cute and I loved the themed aspect to the room! It was very clear that the hosts had taken a great deal of time and effort to make the experience for guests as pleasant and enjoyable as possible! There was even a little booklet that the hosts had made with recommendations for breakfast, lunch, entertainment, etc! I would highly highly highly recommend this place to anyone visiting New Orleans!

    Thomas2014-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • I hate writing this review because the host was fantastic, but here it is... 1. I wouldn't call the neighborhood "quiet." There was a very noisy neighbor playing the drums most of the time I was there. And when me and my friend would ever walk outside we would get cat called . I thought the concepts of bikes were cool but I wouldn't ride them around that often in that type of neighborhood. Wasn't a terrible neighborhood, but it wasn't what this listing (and it's reviews) made it seem like. 2. My towels, although very thankful they were provided, smelled like mildew. Positive notes: 1. The host is great and responsive. 2. He writes out instructions incredibly clear so you probably won't even need to be in contact with him at all! Nothing about the listing was inaccurate, BUT the pictures and descriptions make it seem like it is better than it really is. My experience was simply average.

    Laura2016-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • The check in process was seamless even checking in late at night without Andrew present. The neighborhood felt scary at night because we were new to it but it was really safe and when we woke up we saw how beautiful the buildings were. Overall our stay was pleasant. However in the future we would probably stay in a hotel. The listing was $45, but after cleaning fees etc that came to $73 and that was a little pricy for us. We did it for the experience but for the sake of price, comfort, and more privacy (although privacy really was not an issue), we will stay in a hotel next time.

  • My experience at Coco & Andrew's "Marie Antionette Room" was excellent. They have got a set-up that is thoughtfully and meticulously set up for the traveller. They are prompt and excellent in their communication, the check in is intelligent, clear and works well, the bikes, bike locks and room keys are well organized and easy to use, the kitchen and bathroom are well-equiped, well maintained, clean and more than ample to accommodate numerous guests. The Marie- Antionette room was another example of the forethought, creative vision and meticulous care to detail that give the Coco and Andrew experience some extra charm. The room is very comfortable, wonderfully decorated, fursihed and the bed is fabulous. I have already recommended to the place to a couple of friends and would not hesitate to do so.

Our newly renovated apartment is right in the middle of town, within walking distance of Magazine St. and just on the edge of the Garden District. Plus, it's just 3 blocks from the streetcar and St. Charles Ave.
Please be our guest in the newly renovated apartment situated at the back of our really old (1850s), charmingly-dilapidated house. It’s just a couple blocks from the parade route/street car/St. Charles, and only about a mile from the Superdome. They don’t call it Central City for nothing! Walk past the main house, down a winding brick pathway, and up the stairs to the private entrance. You enter into the kitchen, with concrete countertops, old wood floors, and plenty of sunlight pouring through the original wood windows with old bubbly glass. Fix yourself a drink and head up the spiral stairs to the bedroom. Just around the iron handrail is a full size bed, and plenty of reading material about the places you’ll want to see and the food you’ll want to eat while you’re here. Then venture out the bedroom door onto the balcony. Did I mention you’re on the third floor now? The view is excellent, the palm trees sway in the wind, and you can hear the marching bands as they pass down the parade route. I almost forgot the bathroom. Honestly, it’s not huge. But it’s everything you need, plus a claw foot tub. And cozy towels, and bubble bath, and . . . well, it’s a bathroom. And just in case you’re wondering, it also has a flat-screen tv, cable, internet, a microwave, a coffee maker, all the things you need in a kitchen, and probably some welcoming Abita beers in the fridge.
Central City is the Best! We're right in the middle of everything. . . and I don't mean right in the middle of the French Quarter, I mean in the middle of a less touristy, little bit quieter New Orleans. We're just on the edge of the Garden District, a short walk from Magazine St, and just 3 blocks form the streetcar line. Plus, we're only one block from the super hip, up and coming Oretha Castle Haley Blvd where you'll find the best coffee, the indiest movies, a few restaurants, the new Food and Beverage Museum, and a tatoo parlor in case you're in the market. So come check out my neighborhood, you'll love it like I do!
  • We had a wonderful holiday in New Orleans over French Quarter Fest and an important part of the experience was our stay, the whole time at 2020 Baronne (Jackson's place). This delightful little apartment is both charming and beguiling. Jackson (and Jeff) were the perfect hosts in our opinion. They were always available, knowledgeable and yet exquisitely respectful of their guests' desire for independence and privacy. The location is perfect - close enough to jump on the St. Charles streetcar line or take a leisurely long walk to the French Quarter and equally accessible to the lower Garden District including Magazine, Jackson and Washington Streets. The neighborhood restaurants we frequented were quintessentially "New Orleans" - in particular, Parisol's, The Blind Pelican, Domilise's and Cafe Reconcile stand out for us. Again, 2020 Baronne was everything and more than we could have expected - it all worked seamlessly for us and we'll be back next year .... count on it! Thank you Jackson and Jeff for rounding out a perfect French Quarter Festival this year.

  • A great refurbished apartment, split level with the kitchen and bathroom on one floor & the bedroom & terrace upstairs. The bedroom is accessed via a narrow winding staircase. We found if easier to leave our suitcases downstairs. The apartment has loads of character and the hens in the garden below added to the atmosphere. It is a short walk to the bus or the streetcar (the line was being worked on when we were there). Jackson is currently working on restoring the rest of the house, which I'm sure will be marvellous when finished. There was no disturbance from this work, although the air conditioning unit did take some getting used to. Jackson was really lovely & we had a wonderful stay & left with a bucket load full of fabulous memories. I should mention that depending on your mobility or how many hurricanes cocktails you consume you at find the bathroom down the spiral staircase a bit tricky. Well worth a visit if you want to experience the real New Orleans.

  • Jackson's place was amazing! Cute, convenient and private. My husband and I had a brief stay in New Orleans, so finding somewhere comfortable with a good location and a little character was important to us, and Jackson's place exceeded our expectations. Also communication was open, easy and accurate with checking in and out. Say hi to their dog Pearl! :) Lana & Ben

  • This is a really cool, nicely renovated space with a wonderful balcony. We had everything we needed for our weekend stay.

    Greg2014-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jackson is an excellent host, we enjoyed the privacy and the surroundings. A true getaway within a getaway. Steps away from trolly that takes you to almost all the destinations (or at least enough to keep you entertained)

  • Great place to stay in New Orleans - would love to stay there next time we are there!

    Joachim2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • I recommand this place to anyone willing to have a local experience of New Orleans. Its a quiet area close to the tramway on St-Charles Street. You can quickly go on Burbon street by tram (20 minutes or so). A lot of nice shops ans restaurants at walking distance.

    Sébastien2018-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • This location was in a safe, quiet neighborhood only three blocks from two trolley stops along the St. Charles line. If you're planning on visiting the French Quarter a lot, it will take about a half hour to get there (when we visited we had to transfer to a bus at the roundabout to get to Canal Street due to some city work on the line) so factor that time in accordingly. From Frenchman street it's closer to an hour via public transportation so we'd walk through the French Quarter on our way over and then take a $15 taxi/Uber back. It's only a couple blocks away from the beautiful Garden District and very close to the delicious Trolley Stop Cafe (don't go during the lunch rush!). The apartment itself was cute and quaint. Up a steep, spiral staircase is the bedroom with cable tv and a door that opens up to a lovely porch. The kitchen and bedroom both have high ceilings to help with the hot weather, and there is a chicken coup out back that you can go check out. One of the nice things about staying in this neighborhood was the distance from the French Quarter. While a hassle to head out to go see things, it felt more "local" and was a great place for a laid back vacation where we'd stop back at the room for a few hours at a time and relax. The area has some nice architecture and it looks like a lot of homes in the area are being repurchased and renovated which was encouraging to see for a city that has seen a lot of hardship over the years. I would be happy to stay here again.

A Newly renovated room which shares a bathroom with our #2 Room, the room has a standard double bed as well as a small refrigerator, a Table & Chairs, and Central Air Conditioning among other amenities. A complimentary Breakfast including fresh brewed coffee, cereal, toast and fruit is also available to guests, as is free use of our Bicycles. NOLA STR permit# 18STR-06203
This listing is for our 3rd bedroom. It has a shared bathroom. See our other listings (#1 or #4 for a private en-suite and #2 charming attic room with shared bath). The room does use a shared bathroom, but as most of our guests are focused on exploring the town, this is rarely more than an inconvenience. If you would prefer a room with a private bathroom, we would like to recommend our other listings Creole Cottage in historic Treme #1 and #4. The Cottage started life as a two family home shortly before the American Civil war and has been added to a number of times over the years, unfortunately the specifics of its history are difficult to pin down (although we can make some educated guesses). I am an Architect by trade, and Jazz Trumpet player by preference (I work on the house during the day and play music at night) currently I am in the process of restoring the cottage to its original character (with a few modern amenities). My Wife Liz assists with the Day to Day running of a Vintage Clothing Boutique in the French Quarter (just a stones throw from Jackson Square) which she commutes to either on foot along the Tree lined Boulevard or by the use of her Single speed cruiser (This town is very Bike friendly). My Son Avery moved here from New Zealand to assist with the renovations, although he has a habit of debating some of the design decisions with me, he's something of a geek and good with electronics. For those times you need a little down time, feel free to make use of our spacious (private) back yard, or find a spot on one of the chairs in our living room. Liz and I have traveled extensively (usually on a shoestring) and have friends in a number of countries, we're always happy to recount the tales of our adventures, or to listen to yours. It's a 20 minute walk(15 minute power walk!) to the French Quarter under those gorgeous 200 year old Oaks, surrounded by gorgeous 200 year old houses, on the old streetcar line. We have three beautiful rescued cats. Miss Doris Day from the Bronx and a couple of locals, Brian Lion and Rocky Raccoon. Our latest rescue is Sgt Pepper a Border Collie.
  • We loved staying at the Creole Cottage. Liz & Rick were extremely helpful in assisting me in my first airbnb stay. Originally I booked for a week, but our plans changed and we could only stay 3 nights. Rick answered my queries quickly and helped me make the change. International feel; the other guests were from Germany. We shared a bathroom with our hosts and guests in another room; using the bathroom was never an issue. In hindsight, might have been wise to shower at night... but there was plenty of hot water to go around. We felt very safe in the neighborhood, walking home from the US Mint at 8:30 at night. Bedroom overhead fan was the most quiet one we've experienced! Wish the one in our bedroom in Minneapolis was so quiet.... Breakfast was home-made muesli; they didn't mind me making my own coffee that I had brought with me. Appreciated the loan of a hairdryer! Just sad we couldn't stay the whole week. A great experience.

  • This was our first time visiting New Orleans and Rick and Liz were so warm and welcoming. They made us feel very comfortable right away. We loved talking with them and discussing NOLA. They offered us use of their bikes to ride around town which was a great perk that we took advantage of often. The room was fantastic and the whole apartment was quaint and picturesque. We really enjoyed our stay with them and would absolutely plan on staying again next time we are in NOLA.

  • A nice, quaint little B&B tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter, but close enough to access everything you would want to do via a short bike ride. We absolutely loved staying at this property and Rick & Liz were very hospitable from the moment the reservation was finalized. Would love to stay here again sometime.

  • Rick & Liz were wonderful. Charming house, clean, and centrally located. Very friendly and the morning coffee was much appreciated! Recommended.

  • The cottage is a very cosy place! The room was perfect. Rick and Liz are very friendly persons. We use the bikes to visit French Quarter, it's very practical! We recommend them, you will have a pleasant stay!

    Sonia2015-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay in Rick and Liz's beautiful home. The six nights I was there went far too quickly! I've stayed in a lot of AirBnBs recently, and I can say that Rick and Liz are the nicest and most friendly hosts that I've met. They care that people have a good stay and enjoy their time in Nawlins. The breakfasts were great, the room (especially the arm chair) was very comfy) and the location is perfect for the French Quarter. I can recommend nearby Buffy's for a good burger and live music away from the frenetic Bourbon or Frenchman. I can't recommend this AirBnB highly enough, if it's available then book it as I don't think you'll do any better in New Orleans.

    John2016-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great! I booked it really last-minute - Rick and Liz were out of town but got back to me straight away, and their son Avery was looking after things. He showed me around when I arrived and was usually around the house in case I had any questions. The room is beautiful - comfy bed, big wardrobe and a desk. Lots of great guidebooks were left in my room and elsewhere in the house. There were tea and coffee, fruit, bread and muesli available for guests as well as bikes you could borrow. I really enjoyed meeting the other airbnb guests who were staying at the same time as me. Just a really relaxed-feeling house with everything you need for a great stay.

One bedroom, ground level apartment in quiet City Park Triangle. Walk to City Park, Jazz Fest, and street car to French Quarter. Fenced yard with gazebo and fire pit. Short walk to coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping.
City Park Triangle is a quiet and safe neighborhood. It is very well located to provide easy access (1/2 block) to City Park (Art Museum, Botanical Gardens, Morning Call) and just 0.4 miles to N. Carrolton Ave to restaurants, shopping and a stop for the Canal St. streetcar line to the French Quarter, Convention Center, WWII Museum and much, much more.
  • The place was great, and made better by Joan's hospitality. Not only was Joan easy to communicate with and very friendly, but she had a helpful guide for us that let us know about good restaurants and other things in the area. Would definitely stay there again.

  • This space is perfect! Exactly what was advertised, and an easy trip to the city. My daughter and I stayed here for a few days. I was able to work remotely, very easily. In the evenings we went to the French quarter. We took the streetcar in to the city and then an easy Uber trip back. We went to City Park several times. Morning Call was a delightful find for beignets and our new favorite- alligator sausage! Joan was an excellent host. I highly recommend this host and stay.

  • Joan was a wonderful host. Her home was perfect for our stay in New Orleans. She provided extra linens when requested and checked in to make sure if we needed anything else. Check in and check out was a breeze. Would definitely recommend Joan’s place to a friend or family member. Would absolutely stay again !!!

This is half a double, so it includes everything you will need. It is a self contained and open, airy space with a living room, full kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and laundry. This fits two people; either a couple in the bedroom or two friends - one in the bedroom and the other on the fold down futon. *My license is only good for two people.*
We live close to a train crossing (two blocks). I had this in the house description, but a lot of people miss it. If you are super sensitive to noises, maybe this isn't the spot. The St. Claude Arts District hosts an art walk of the local galleries the 2nd Saturday of each month. There are now many spots to eat & drink in the neighborhood and I have a guide book in the house with addresses.
  • We would go back in a heartbeat! From the very first second we felt so at home here. The place is spacious, lovely and in a very cool area to stay in. We endes up staying for another night because we couldn't quite say goodbye to New Orleans yet. Caren was the perfect host: Telling us about the city and untouristic places to go upon arrival. Thanks to her recommandations we could make the most of our trip. We'll be back!

  • We really enjoyed staying at Carin's guesthouse. Enjoyed the neighborhood. We were enough off the beaten path to be able to relax, but close enough to walk and ride bikes to many of the places we wanted to visit in town. Several of the restaurants we tried out in the neighborhood were excellent too. It was a little cool the week we visited, but the house was cozy and warm. Had a great stay!

    Carrie2014-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Carin was very welcoming and willing to work around my arrival schedule (which was much appreciated). The house was HUGE and the high ceilings were so lovely. The window AC unit was more than enough to keep the space cool during the humid, rainy nights. Coffee, tea and snacks were provided (such a nice touch). Bywater is a great neighborhood and the house was within walking distance of plenty of restaurants and bars (including Frenchman). Being a solo female traveler, I was glad to have a car for nights out. I didn't encounter any problems but for other female travelers out there, it doesn't seem too smart to walk alone at night more than a mile or two. I will absolutely be staying here again during my next visit to NOLA. Thank you, Carin!

    Lauren2015-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely spot. Charming and great location. Carin is a great host . Very responsive when needed but also super respectful of our space .

    Sandra2016-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Carin's place was fantastic. When I arrived, she gave me a quick tour of the beautiful home, and it was perfect for my needs while I was in New Orleans - not too close to the French Quarter craziness, but plenty nearby to local bars and restaurants. The house is spacious, stocked, and sweet!

    Harper2015-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Carin's house. The house itself was exactly as pictured -- well-appointed, clean, and adorably decorated. The neighborhood was quiet, and easily accessible to the French Quarter. Carin was incredibly accommodating, and was kind enough to let us store our bags for an early arrival and late departure. I would highly recommend her place to anyone traveling to New Orleans!

    Jenny2014-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Carin was absolutely wonderful! We had a great time during our stay. The house is beautiful, everything was extremely clean and it was very comfortable! There were plenty of pamphlets on the table about things to do in town, some good maps (including public transit), a list of places to go and Carin gave verbal pointers as well. There was even some food in the kitchen and toiletries in the bathroom to tide us over until we got to the co-op the next morning, as we got in at around 9 on our first night. Carin was also kind enough to let me borrow one of her bicycles to use to pick up dinner and groceries during our stay. An example of her going above and beyond: on our last day, the refrigerator broke, and by the time we got back from our day of wandering around the French Quarter, the fridge had been replaced and they'd even put our food that they'd put in their fridge back in the new one for us. I would highly recommend this house to anyone! It's close to everything but very quiet and the owners are fabulous!

    Allison2012-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I have been a week at Carin's place and it was wonderful! The place is really nice and spacious :) The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful. Carin is one of the best host we had and she really wants her guests to have a great experience. We really like to go exploring New Orleans with Carin's bikes and the «best of» guide she has created. We highly recommend whoever wants to go to New Orleans to stay at Carin's place! :D

I love that it's down to earth, welcoming, historic architecture and a lot of space and green for being located in central New Orleans. It's a residential neighborhood, NOT located in the French Quarter! (see map on bottom of the listing!)
  • Miriam was a wonderful host and the apartment was a great oasis for us weary travelers! In addition to being clean and spacious, the apartment also had a washer, and after 4 days on the road, was great to have. Swinging on the porch swing was incredibly relaxing and the neighbors were friendly. Even her dogs were welcoming and friendly. Book this one!

    Sally2013-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Everything in the listing was spot on and great! The entire house is very nice and clean with all the amenities plus more. Also Miriam is a great host! The location was in a quiet neighborhood but still close to many great attractions and food. Couldn't ask for more!

    Mike2014-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Miriam's place was perfect for us. The location is great, only 10-minute drive to the French Quarter. The place was clean and fully-equipped. Miriam kept good communication with us before and during our stay. She was very accommodating with our schedule and let us use her driveway for our car. Great host!

    Van2016-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a van with very expensive equipment in the back and didn't feel safe leaving it overnight in the driveway. We ended up moving to a hotel 15 minutes after checking in. This was the main reason we left. The beds were old and the house seemed run down. The location was not ideal if visiting New Orleans and not in a place you want to or can walk home at night to.

    Joyce2012-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had the chance to meet Miriam, very nice person. The communication was very easy. We only spent two nights but that was perfect. Her place is very spacious, clean and safe. She has a lovely neighborhood, close to the Esplanade and the French Quarter. We fell in love of New-Orleans. Thank you Miriam

    Marie2014-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Miriam's! We (a family of 4) stayed for 5 nights. We loved the neighborhood and enjoyed bicycling all around. The house was spacious, sunny, and well-equipped with just about anything you would need. We used the kitchen for many of our meals which was fantastic. We brought our bicycles which we were able to easily store under the house. Our son enjoyed playing darts and our daughter loved the dogs. We were here partially for business and could have stayed at a hotel downtown, but much preferred staying here. This could not have been a better option for us. Everyone loved it! Thank you!

    Randy2014-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place was all we needed. Comfortable, warm, cozy, good location and quiet. She was very prompt in answering any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again.

    Josh2016-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Miriam was very good at replying to our e-mail's/texts. We only met once, but I'm sure if we had any questions she would have been more than willing to answer them. There was so much great information located within the house of things and places to do around the city. It was a very nice and clean place with everything we needed. We walked to French Quarter from the house and it took us about 30 mins. Not bad if the weather is mild!! Overall, we had a very nice stay. Thank you!

Located on the grand promenade of historic Treme, fully equipment: coffemaker, refri, micro, TV, Free wifi , 2 full beds ( 4 guestsl) 1 futon sofa bed, and kitchenette. 1.4 miles, 25min/walk to French quarter 5 min. Whole food market, Willie Maes Restaurant, and close to system of transportation.
There is room to park in front of 2636 Saint Ann, on the street next to the orange cone, (one side of a duplex house) or you could park cross street, if there is not much traffic.
The neighborhood is safe, but still is in process of recovering since hurricane Katrina ( 2005).
  • The place is cozy and clean. The neighborhood is fun and interesting, but we wouldn't have walked anywhere at night and took Uber most places. Easy Uber ride to French quarter.

    Emily2017-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I loved our stay at Fernando's place, close enough to walk to the French quarter but far enough away to escape the hustle and bustle!

    Lauren2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place! Comfortable! Enjoyed being there! Close to everything! I took uber everywhere!

    Jocelyn2018-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Only a few minutes from the quarter and a cheap Uber ride!

    Hanna2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great! Was big enough for our group for 4, could have easily fit 2 more. The AC was great, water pressure worked fine also. This is the kind of place you rent if you are just looking to sleep and enjoy New Orleans. The location was a quick uber ride to and from places so we had no problem in that area at all. Overall, I would stay here again. Good price, enough space, easy to get to-and-from places.

    Nick2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Fernando's place was nice, clean and updated. It really shows how much pride he takes in his properties. It is a good place for adults to stay while visiting the area. Fenando was friendly and a pleasure doing business with.

    Wanda2017-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Fernando was a great host and the apartment was perfect. Muchas gracias!

    Julien2016-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Fernando's place was great and was exactly as described. It was very clean and spacious and had everything we need as our temporary home away from home. The internet was fast which allowed us to check our mail and plan our day before stepping out. His place is very close to French Quarter and Business District. We were able to walk to the trolley stop in the morning to take it into town and the Uber back at night. His place is very close to Willie Mae's Scotch house (2 block walk) which has delicious fried chicken. I would definitely love to stay here again.

Stay on one of the best streets in NOLA! Just search Oak St. New Orleans and you will find all you need to know about this great area. It is small and cozy but has every thing you need including parking! May need more space and bigger bath? Check out the upstairs unit OAK ST. STUDIO W/PARKING. Walk to three coffee shops, three yoga studios, shops, many restaurants, and bars right on the eight blocks of Oak St. Take the Steetcar, Uber, Cabs, Bus or rent a bike if you don't wish to have a car.
A convenient and small grocery located a few blocks away as well as a drug store on corner of Carrollton and Oak for any thing you may need.

  • September was an excellent host, she gave plenty of information prior to my stay and everything went very smoothly. Albeit cozy the studio was very clean & updated, the perfect place to lay your head after a long day & night of New Orleans style partying. Great shower, little but functional kitchen, lots of storage & a closet to keep suitcases out of the way. SUPER comfortable bed. Oak Street itself is adorable with great shopping and food, and as I actually prefer staying Uptown to the Quarter this was perfect. Overall a wonderful little find and I'd love to come back.

    Hilary2016-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very awesome stay in September’s studio. I’ll look for her place every time we travel to NOLA.

    Sylvester2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at September's was really nice. Her place is very compact but had everything we needed. We were able to fit our Honda Odyssey van into the parallel parking spot in the back, which was a nice secure spot. This was good since we had our bikes stored in the van. The location was very convenient to the St. Charles streetcar line. We have stayed in Uptown before but this was nice because it allowed us to get familiar with the Oak St area. All-in-all a very nice visit.

    Mary2018-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • September's place is very clean and looks exactly like the pictures. The location is only 15 mins away from French Quarter. I will recommend this place to anyone and i will surely stay here again.

    Sandra2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Small but just enough space for my boyfriend and I. September was a friendly host. It was clean and located near the streetcar, which was our main form of transportation. It was about a 40 minute trip on the St. Charles to get to the French Quarter. About 20 minutes from the airport if taking an Uber or Lyft. Would stay again.

    Tiffanie2018-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • We were a little disappointed with this airbnb stay. The check-in didn't go as planned and then there was some dirty towels from previous guests when we finally got into the place. There was only a K-cup type machine for coffee with only 2 k-cups provided for a 5 day stay. I would have had to buy a 12-pack and then throw away the other 9 since I have no need of k-cups at home. The mattress was very soft for our liking, although I realize that such things are personal preference. The place is small but was big enough to move around in just fine. The location would be fine if you have a car but for non-auto folks it is an 8 block walk to the streetcar and then another 40 minute ride into the French Quarter. On the upside, you are a couple of hundred yards from Jaques Imo's and the Maple Leaf and the surrounding Oak Street neighborhood is a cool place. We never did see or hear from September so I can't comment in that regard. All in all, it wasn't terrible or anything like that, but we have stayed in dozens of airbnb locations and this was one of our least favorite.

    Michael2017-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • I was traveling solo and this was the perfect crashpad for me. I could throw my beverages in the mini fridge, enjoy showers to help beat the hangovers and be 15 minutes away from anywhere I wanted to go. Clean and super convenient location. And the parking spot included is a gamechanger, especially for that part of town. September was communicative and easy to reach. Just a heads up-- you need to strip your bed, take out your trash and clean your dishes or you get an additional charge. Will definitely look to stay here again!

    Lisa2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our overnight stay at this tiny gem! It was very neat and clean. The location was great! The private parking was very nice! I would recommend this place for any individual or couple.

You will be walking through all of our bedrooms to get to your room, and while you'll have your room to yourself, people will need to walk below your loft to access the kitchen, other bedrooms, backyard, and bathroom. Both doorways have doors which you can close for more privacy. Please look through our photos to see the "blueprints" of our house, this will give you an idea to how it's laid out. Your room is the fourth room in the house, next to the kitchen. It comes furnished with a full size bed, bright lamp for reading, Christmas lights, fresh sheets, clean blankets, pillows, and towels - and it's on a loft! To get up to the bed you will need to climb a ladder up 7 feet to the loft. The height in the loft is around 4 1/2 feet, meaning most people won’t be able to stand, but it’s still fairly easy to get around in for any able-bodied person. Below the loft is a hangout room, where you are more than welcome to hangout and stretch your legs all you want.
  • Even if I visited New Orleans only for 2 days with one night, this house was the best idea ever. It afforced the atmosphere of the city. I loved staying here, house is completely part of art and hosts are friendly people with friendly dogs. Love this place! Because of everything was my first AirBnb experience wonderfull!

    Katarína2015-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay in NOLA. We were there with family, all staying same place. Due to a mix-up, we needed someplace for one night. Took a little bit of overnight needs over in the afternoon and Katie & Matthijs greeted us, showed us our room & passed long some local tips. We returned late & left early so didn't have a chance for much interaction. A fun opportunity to experience a shotgun house which is so common there.

Their place is walking distance to the french quarter and has lots of artistic flare! I would recommend staying with them to any friends I know who plan to visit New Orleans!

    Ashley2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Matt and Katie were so kind and accommodating. We had added an extra person last minute and they were very understanding and hospitable. They had great tips on things to do and were very good at ensuring everyone was comfortable. Would highly recommend!

  • No drama mama. The apartment description is accurate. The city and it's people are super cool.

Amazing aprtment in a Historic Mansion located in Treme. This home is located wonderful neighborhood to have a real New Orleans experience. This home is full of history and culture. One bedroom, one sofa bed, a full kitchen and a wonderful balcony .
  • We were met by our hostess, who was very welcoming and gracious. Parking was easy outside on the street and the neighborhood felt safe. The Pied-A-Terre was more than I thought it would be and we were pleasantly surprised! We'll definitely return during our next visit to New Orleans, which will hopefully be longer than an overnight!

    Janet2016-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is lovely, comfortable, and spacious! Our kids slept on the sofa bed and loved being in the apt. Trudell was generous and went out of her way to ensure we had a lovely stay. We will certainly return on our next trip to New Orleans.

  • I had very little communication with Brandon, but Trudell and Brandon's dad were awesome! They let us drop our bags off early when we were out on tours, and had our bags waiting for us when we got back later in the evening... The place is so cute and comfortable, and we would love to come back and stay again!! Trudell let us borrow rain boots and umbrellas for the Jazz Fest, which was greatly appreciated in the pouring rain and mud!! Our entire stay was great, as jazz fest was a mile away from the house and Frenchman street and bourbon street were all in close proximity... Highly recommend this place!! Thank you!!

  • Truedell helped me carry my luggage up a long flight of stairs and her husband helped me when I was leaving. Her Air B and B is a family affair. You can see the pride they had in their historic home. The apartment was spotless and there was a nice local jazz station playing on the radio when I walked in--It really got me in the mood. I am a walker and found that I could walk everywhere I needed to go, including the streetcar stop on Canal Street. The streetcar is so easy to use and CHEAP. A day pass is $3 for 24 hours so I got to use it on day and the next. I had my first Po Boy at Superior Seafood restaurant on the St. Charles Streetcar line on my way to the garden district. Yum.

  • This place was great! It was such a short ride or walk to the French Quarter, parking is free and easy, the space is very neat and comfortable. We were given a lot of suggestions and communication was clear. Stay here if you can!

  • Our trip to New Orleans would have been incomplete without the wonderful host we had! Truedell went above and beyond from before we even pulled up. We traveled through a hurricane so we arrived much later than expected, Truedell was nothing but understating and kind, and even checked in with us to make sure we were okay on our drive back as it was thunder storming again. The place was very well kept and up to date, just as described. We ubered everywhere only because we were constantly in a rush to get around, but I think a walk to the main areas is manageable if you have the time. Definitely staying here again!

  • Our stay at Brandon's house was great. We were especially lucky with our timing. Truedell and family threw a very fun get together both on her birthday and for Halloween. The house was beautiful old NOLA and our hosts very warm and welcoming.

  • We loved our stay at Robert's "Maison Rouge." The description is completely accurate—we felt like we lived in New Orleans again! Both Robert and Ernie were so welcoming and so friendly. What a rare treat, this combination of excellent, personal service, a beautiful historic home, a great location in one of the best neighborhoods in the city, and with such an affordable price. Don't miss out on this one!

  • We spent a week exploring the old neighborhoods based at this authentic Bywater shotgun. It was exactly as advertised and in a wonderful location. Leslie was a perfect host. He was completely understanding when our travel plans went awry because of airline delays and cancellations. He was attentive and available whenever we wanted him and very respectful of our privacy. He was thoughtful about what we might need in the cottage and it was so well stocked with drinks, snacks and water. Make sure you allow some time to chat with him - he's delightful. You will know you are immersed in the city and the neighborhood if you stay here.

  • I just returned from a week long stay at Maison Rouge. This was, without a doubt, my best AirBnb experience. Robert and Ernie are wonderful hosts. The place is beautiful and the previous reviews have been spot on. Ernie keeps everything supplied for you and is always there for you should you need anything. He's also as fine of a gentleman as you will ever meet. Both he and Robert go to great lengths to make sure your stay with them is a true New Orleans experience. I was able to spend some time talking with Robert. and learned some fascinating history about New Orleans. You couldn't ask for better hosts. The Bywater neighborhood has some really good restaurants and bars. Frenchman street is just a short 15 minute walk while the French Quarter is about a 20 minute walk or a short cab ride. I look forward to another visit and to get a chance to hang out some more. It was a great trip. Thanks guys!

  • This was a complete positive experience!!! The hospitality was never ending!! This home is so lovely and comfortable!!! The location is perfect!! The Bywater and Marigny streets are filled with so many great restaurants/bars! Everything you need is within walking distance! There is also a beautiful park nearby (which our host so generously gifted us wine, cheese, salami, and crackers that we enjoyed there!) Frenchman Street is an easy 15 min walk away. Riverwalk and the French Quarter are a quick bus ride away or a nice leisurely walk with your to-go cocktails!! I cannot say enough nice things about this home and Ernie who goes over and beyond to make your stay easy and pleasant!!! (Daily stocked fridge of water, juice, coke zero. Daily cleaning and laundry. Also being very available and helpful with any tourist needs!) The shower and bath tub were glorious! And we had fresh towels daily. We enjoyed Oxalis, Mariza, Booty's, Markey's, and the Country Club which are all within walking distance! We will definitely be staying here on our next visit!! P.s. Be sure to leave Ernie a nice tip!!!!!

  • This place was even better than the ad. The house itself is beautiful and fabulously decorated, and the neighborhood was exactly what we wanted. Safe, full of character, lots of good restaurants and funky little cafes. Ernie, the housekeeper was nothing short of fabulous. He took very good care of us and our little girl. It was like staying with family. We will not hesitate to stay here again if/when we come back to New Orleans.

Carin was waiting for us on the porch when we drove in from the airport. Wow, we were blown away! One full half of a 100 + year old shotgun house, three large and beautiful rooms. Extremely comfortable and well-appointed with everything and anything we could ask for. Fun little touches that made our stay perfect: beer in the fridge, a great reference folder for nearby restaurants, books and games on the shelves, etc. Carin even found an iron for us so we could look good for the wedding we were in town for. The neighborhood is awesome, quiet streets and fun little coffee houses and restaurants within walking distance. We will definitely try to stay with Carin again the next time we roll into town! An awesome stay and experience!

The Shogas appartement was absolutely lovely. The fridge was stocked with milk, water, fruit and beer, this was absolutely wonderful. Upon our arrival Belinda gave us tips on where to go, what to see and where to listen to music as well as as tips on the safest ways to walk there. The neighbourhood was within walking distance of most things we wanted to see (French Quarter, Frenchmen Street).

We had a wonderful stay at Ken and April's home! It looks exactly like the pictures and we really enjoyed sitting out on the balcony and relaxing between running around. There is a corner store 1 block away to pick up snacks and drinks. We took an uber everywhere but you could easily bike or walk to the French Quarter. I personally don't believe anything good happens under a bridge so we did not bike/walk it but we definitely saw lots of other people biking through. Would definitely stay here again!
