  • April and Ken's place is awesome! My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and couldn't have asked for a better spot. We were far enough from the city to have a quiet getaway, but close enough to Uber in whenever we wanted to have some fun! When we arrived, the home was clean and welcoming. They left a detailed list of information, and even included some hidden gems to visit. If I could give this place and these hosts more than 5 stars, I totally would!!

    Krista2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely spot . With bikes at your disposal it is so easy to get around. We really enjoyed our stay.

    Sarah2017-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • April and Ken were wonderful, generous hosts and the place is lovely and close to everything. Even better than the photos. Had everything we needed and the ensuite laundry was a bonus! Loved it so much we booked a third night.

    Rebecca2017-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay! The carriage house was beautiful and we really enjoyed cooling off from the July heat in the pool. April and Ken had left a list of wonderful recommendations and kindly let us use their bikes - it was such a cool way to see the city! This is a great location with everything we needed to be comfortable.

    Emily2016-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • We were excited to find such a private, quiet and well located place to stay for a wedding weekend. Thanks to Ken and April for a fun and comfortable experience and for the great tips.

  • Had a wonderful stay. Comfy and convenient place to stay while visiting New Orleans. Everything within a quick Uber ride away. Excellent value.

    Kayn2017-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • April and Ken were wonderful hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in their lovely carriage house. Her recommendations for breakfast and snow-cones were just perfect! And, my little boys loved swimming in the pool - our five year old actually learned how to swim during our stay! We will always treasure our memories from our short stay there and hope to rent from April and Ken again in the future! Thank you both!

  • We were in a cottage behind the main house. It was fine. The bed is a bit to small for 2 big guys and the sofa is very uncomfortable. The WIFI didn't work constantly and the shower switched from warm to cold watwr immediately, which was pretty annoying. But overall a good place to stay. We had better appartments for less money during our trip through the US. But as I said, it's ok overall.

Guest area features private bedroom and bath with its own private entrance. Only 2 miles from the French Quarter by streetcar. Enjoy complete privacy in the guest space or visit with the hosts as you desire.
Private bedroom and bath in our charming shotgun house on the Canal Streetcar line only 2 miles from the French Quarter. Guest area features private entrance, lovely patio, beautiful antique furnishings, 11-foot ceilings, petite chandelier, comfortable and clean queen bed, and cozy guest robes. Internet, cable TV, parking, oscillating fan, iPod player, white noise machine, hairdryer, fridge, coffeepot, crockpot, and snacks are provided. The space has a peaceful, airy feel and is flooded with natural light. This listing is unique in that you have complete privacy from the main house. The guest space has its own exterior door, and you are free to come and go as you please. The garden path leading to your room features motion-activated lighting if you are returning after dark. The room is located down the garden path in the rear of the house. We welcome special requests and will do anything we can to accommodate you. The room is ideal for one to two people, but we can also provide a travel crib and other baby items if you wish to travel with your child. We love hosting guests for honeymoons, anniversaries, and other special events. Our home is located in the historic Mid-City neighborhood, which was one of the first neighborhoods to spring back after extensive flooding due to Hurricane Katrina. Mid-City is located, as the name indicates, in the middle of New Orleans on what was once the backslope of the Mississippi River natural levee. Our home was built around 1910 and is a typical New Orleans-style shotgun house. In New Orleans at the time of construction, the shotgun house utilized a minimized lot frontage, on which taxes were based. The houses were also built without hallways and closets, which would have been counted as rooms for tax purposes. The origin of the building style and the name itself may trace back to Haitian influences on New Orleans, as many Afro-Haitian slaves lived in this area. Our house was recently featured on the HBO series "Treme", as the law office of the character Toni Bernette (played by Melissa Leo) and also as part of the interior of the home of Creighton Bernette (played by John Goodman). Guests are free to have complete privacy or to meet with the host as desired to obtain recommendations for food, drink, and attractions. Check-in is offered via a lockbox. Rates may vary during special events and holidays. Our home is located just off the parade route for Endymion, the largest parade of Mardi Gras. The festival grounds for Jazz Fest are just over 1 mile away.
Mid-City is a diverse neighborhood with its own distinctive flavor. Bars and restaurants in this area are largely patronized by locals, so the neighborhood provides an escape from the more touristy areas of the city, while still allowing easy access to the French Quarter via the Canal Streetcar Line.
  • You really couldn't ask for more in an airbnb. Adorable and pristine space separate from the rest of the house, thoughtful amenities, and a laid-back host. We'll be back!

  • What a delightful stay! Erin and family (including the friendly cat and dog (hi! woof!)) were wonderfully hospitable. The room is as nice as the photos would suggest. The home has been lovingly restored. Amenities such as an iPod/iPhone speaker dock and various yummy snacks show off the thought that Erin and her husband have put into making their guests' experience as welcoming as possible. Clean, nicely appointed, and privately accessible. Streetcars provide convenient downtown access and the home is a very easy taxi ride to the airport. As an added bonus, you're close to City Park should you want to jog off a beignet or three.

    Albert2013-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Erin's home is so cozy! The space she has created is warm and inviting. The bed is also just perfect to fall into after a long day in NOLA. Easy two block walk to the streetcar, and luckily is an even easier ride on the street car as you don't have to transfer. I'm totally staying here again! Thanks Erin!

    Ash2015-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • After spending two weeks shuffling between various family members homes across the south for the holidays, my husband and I decided to book a last minute trip to New Orleans (our first time) on our way back home. Erin's place was lovely and affordable; only a short transit ride into the quarter and (most importantly) a cheap late night cab ride back. She graciously hosted our small dog as well and provided us with everything we needed (toiletries, snacks, coffee/soda/water/beer, bathrobes, and a late check-out). The room is well-appointed and private, situated at the back of her property and with a separate entrance. We had a great couple days and would love to stay @ "Ride the streetcar to the Quarter" again--our highest recommendation! Thanks, Erin!

    Stephanie2013-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • It is a nice room located in the mid-city area. Our host was accommodating and friendly. The location is great as it is a 3 minute walk to the train car which will take you straight to the downtown area. The room is clean and you have all the privacy you could ask for. The snacks, amenities, and cable TV were all an unexpected bonus. Thanks again for being our host

    William2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé chose to stay with Erin and her family for our anniversary. We had an incredible experience in their home. The room was very private and disconnected by what seemed like a hallway between their living space and ours. The private bathroom was fully equipped with toiletries including shampoo and conditioner. It was so nice to have bottled water in the room and chips after a long day of traveling, gave us just enough energy to go out and explore the city. I never interacted with Erin but her husband was very pleasant and knowledgable about the area. We took many of his suggestions and were very pleased. I would definitely stay here again.

    AP & Lindsey2016-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay especially if you want to explore the French Quarter - only a tram ride away. Comfortable bed in a stylish room and a lovely bathroom. Erin gets back really quickly, lots of thoughtful touches and a folder of local information, including some great places to eat. Thank you!

  • Overall great experience. Great location and great value for the price!

  • Matt and his family were waiting on their front porch to greet us when we arrived, and he stashed two local beers waiting in the fridge for us when we settled in. He showed us where we would be staying, took any questions we had, gave us great suggestions on where to catch some live music, and made himself available to us during our entire stay. Most impressively, at my request for some suggested running routes while in NOLA, Matt went above and beyond, creating detailed maps and turn-by-turn hand written directions to get my around town.

    Jeff2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • If I could give Matthew and his Belfast studio 6 stars, I would ! We loved our time in NOLA made even better by staying in this lovely, clean space and great neighborhood that was convenient to all of our activities, yet quiet and peaceful outside of the crush of people and traffic in the French Quarter. The studio is very well appointed and spacious with a full kitchen, large shower with good water pressure, washer and dryer, closet, iron, hair dryer, parking space in driveway, literally everything you need . Matthew was phenomenal host giving info and help that made our trip easy and fun. We even used his bikes the last day for a great ride to brunch. If you have the opportunity to stay here, book it now... we are sure to coming back!!

    Kate2016-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best airbnb experience I've had. Matt and his family was a joy to meet, and I felt completely at home without interruption during my stay.

  • We're first timers to New Orleans that stopped in for a night. Awesome location and incredibly awesome digs. Wish we could have stayed longer.

    Sierra2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic studio in a great location. Matthew was a wonderful host and went to great lengths to make our short stay very comfortable (such as setting up a pack-n-play/crib and sound machine for our infant son). We loved touring the beautiful neighborhood, and enjoying wine on the patio. Will definitely be staying here again!

    Ellen2016-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew’s place was a doll house. We had a wonderful stay. We both wished we could have stayed there longer!! Will absolutely come back!

    Ella2018-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was exactly like the pics. Private and off to the side of the house. Quiet neighbor but within walking distance to restaurants and supermarket. Katherine and Michael both communicated well and kept us informed . Would stay here again next time I'm in NOLA

Located on the residential side of Bourbon St. you will enjoy the quietness at night and sleep like a baby and few steps all the action of Bourbon and the Marigny area. This mansion was built in the 1830s n was recently converted into Luxury condos.
The living room has one queen sofa bed for two people, located in front of the charming courtyard, large balcony on the second floor, master bedroom with private bathroom, second bedroom with a set of bunk beds and daybed to sleep four people, kitchen, dining room, additional bathroom on the first floor, TV.
  • Really enjoyed our stay! Plenty of space for our group and we enjoyed being walking distance to French Quarter attractions but far enough away from the madness when it was time to rest up

    Carolyn2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great, clean place. Would definitely recommend this location or one of their other locations. Great location, just a short walk from all the action on Bourbon St. Can not wait to go back!

  • Great place, beautiful, and a great price! So pleased with this deal!

    Talaney2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • DeeDee was super helpful! Very available, very quick, and so friendly. The condo was delightful -- everything was as expected, very clean and comfortable. Also, the location is really ideal -- in a beautiful quiet neighborhood, but walkable to shops and restaurants or to Bourbon St. if that's your pace. Would definitely come back!

    Avery2016-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Not too far from where the bars start on Bourbon. Loved the balcony and patio! Would totally stay here again.

    Yasmin2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great! The private courtyard was an awesome asset for evening hangout. There was a plumbing issue while we were there, but the host was able to help us work around the issue. Also, super close to Frenchmen street and a nice quiet neighborhood. We were even able to park right out front!

    Tasha2017-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place to stay. Just the best!

    Charles2017-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • My 3 girlfriends and I spent two nights here and we could not have been happier! The condo is in an excellent location; it's near so many fun spots but is on a quiet street. The place is gorgeous and was very clean. We loved the courtyard and balcony. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The Mazant is a plantation-style home dating back to the early 1880s, located in the heart of New Orleans' Bywater arts district - and about 1-1/2 miles from the French Quarter (30 minutes walking or 8 minutes by Uber). We are close to Bacchanal, The Joint, The Country Club, Elizabeth's, and Satsuma Cafe. It's perfect for family reunions, wedding parties, company off-sites, and other large groups.
The house was recently renovated to preserve historic details including 13' ceilings with plaster medallions, heart pine wood floors, cypress doors, and a 125-year old oak tree. At the same time, we updated the layout to more comfortably accommodate large groups: * 18-person dining room table * Oversized living room with 70-inch television, surround sound system, and Baldwin upright piano * Private yard (1/3 acre) with fire pit, six-burner propane BBQ, outdoor table, and hammocks * Super-fast WiFi (the top tier that Cox offers) * Front porch (gallery) with historic gas lamps and outdoor seating * Off-street parking for two cars and ample street parking for overflow The house has eight bedrooms with layout as follows: Downstairs - Bedroom 1: one queen bed (ensuite bathroom - shower) - Bedroom 2: one king bed (ensuite bathroom - shower) Upstairs - Bedroom 3: one queen bed (ensuite bathroom - shower/tub combo) - Bedroom 4: one double bed - Bedroom 5: one twin bunkbed - Bedroom 6: one king bed - Bedroom 7: one king bed - Bedroom 8: one queen bed There are two additional shared bathrooms upstairs: one with a clawfoot tub (with shower) and another tub/shower combo. For larger groups, we also have a separate 350-sq ft guest cottage that has a queen bed, full kitchen, and full bathroom (with clawfoot tub/shower). It is available upon request for an additional fee ($150 per night).
Just down river (east) from the French Quarter - stretching from Press Street to the Industrial Canal - is the Bywater, where the mood and pace shift as you enter into the heart of an edgier yet still welcoming neighborhood. The St. Claude Arts District, centered around St. Claude Avenue, is home to more than thirty locations exhibiting visual and performance art, along with an array of artisan crafts. Down Piety Street, the fun continues with restaurants, thrift stores and more galleries. Even the homes, cafes and restaurants seem to capture Bywater's eclectic appreciation for the arts. Spend the afternoon at Crescent Park for some impressive views of downtown New Orleans and the Mississippi River. Afterward, you can thrift your way through the neighborhood before stopping in at an exhibition and finally making your way to dinner. The area's restaurants are among the most innovative in the city and are great places to sit with a cocktail and chat with locals. Above all, the Marigny and Bywater neighborhoods illustrate the relationship between the New Orleans arts scene and local life. So whether you're looking for the New Orleans of old, or if you want see where New Orleans culture is headed for the future, the Faubourg Marigny and Bywater will offer you glimpses in either direction.
  • 5 Stars! Our group of 10 was blown away by this house. It is HUGE, plenty of beds/baths, awesome common spaces (living room, dining room with massive table, big private yard with fire pit), furnishings/decor A+, and all only a 10-min Uber from French Quarter. Don't be scared by any rough surroundings as you drive in. This house is tucked on a nice block and is the gem of the neighborhood. Had everything we needed and would definitely recommend!

    Max2017-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house. Beautifully styled with great attention to detail. Genuine residential neighbourhood - walking distance to the French Quarter. Loved our stay!

  • Amazing house! I planned a bachelorette for 16 girls and the house WOWed them :). It was in a cool area with greats local joints, the decor was gorgeous, space was huge and clean. We will come back again. Thanks!

  • We absolutely loved this place. We housed our Bridal party there for our wedding and our guests fell in love with the place and didn't want to leave. I was concerned in the beginning about everyone having to share bathrooms, but we didn't have one problem. There was plenty of room and bathrooms for everyone. We truly enjoyed our stay at the Mazant. Thank you Jeff!!

    Bonny2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff's place is in the heart of the Bywater and 9th Ward. Everything I expected and more. We had eight guys and everyone had plenty of personal space. The neighborhood is fantastic and as advertised if you are looking for authentic New Orelans without the aggravation of the Quarter this is a great place!

    Christopher2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic house. Big, beautiful, well decorated and top notch amenities. Comfortably slept 12 people for a guys trip to New Orleans. Really had a great time at the house. Couldn’t ask for anything different.

  • Awesome space for a large family ! Great proximity to NOLA attractions.

    Corey2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here for my sisters bachelorette party and the house was absolutely amazing! There were 11 of us girls and there was plenty of space - even an extra room! The place was clean and perfect for hosting a party. The hosts were very hospitable, they left a nice note with champagne, beer, and cake in the fridge when we checked in! Highly recommend this place!

This beautiful home is in a perfect location to explore the City of New Orleans. It is a hidden gem within walking distance of Frenchmen Street, the best local cafes, bars and restaurants (L'il Dizzy's, Port of Call, Cafe Du Monde), and only 2 blocks from the French Quarters. The home is perfect for those who want to be near it all yet still have an authentic New Orleans experience that is usually only available to locals.
This is a true New Orleans home...you'll enjoy all of the traditional details, like the fireplace and exposed brick.
This neighborhood is alive. It's energy is quintessential New Orleans. You won't find a bad meal or a weak drink. The locals are always friendly and quick to start a conversation.
  • Cute clean place to stay, I would say only for two people comfortably. Great location, easy to reach for any recommendations or help (did not need any help.) close enough to walk everywhere but just outside of all the craziness!

    April2017-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our overnight stay in your house. Mark is a friendly and accommodating host. The house is very clean and newly updated in a quiet neighborhood. We would stay again if ever back to New Orleans.

    Madeline2017-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Overall we enjoyed our stay. The location was great and although you can hear a lot of noise from outside everything was clean and the bed in the bedroom was comfortable. Despite reading reviews about the sofa bed I though my 7 year old daughter would be ok on it but you could feel every single coil and it was too uncomfortable to sleep on. Besides that we had a great stay!

    Summer2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous apartment on the outskirts of the Quarter. Comfortable, cozy and Mark and his crew were super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

    Jeff2016-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at this place on Governor Nicholls. The place was spotless and very well decorated to the classic New Orleans "feel" you would look for. Located just a block from the French Quarter, it was great for walking or taking Uber rides around the city at a low fare. At night, it was quiet and in a non-descript area that was perfect to escape away from the bars and tourists of Bourbon Street.

Just 3 blocks to the French Quarter, 1 block from Louis Armstrong Park and 2 blocks from Esplanade, you're smack dab in the middle of trendy Treme, while being an easy stroll or bike ride to the French Quarter, the Marigny or Frenchman St for a nightly musical smorgasbord. • We loved staying at NOLAS! We had an unfortunate issue with the airlines on our way into New Orleans, and Whitney's husband Tom was very accomodating when we let him know we needed to arrive late. Overall the place was well kept and had everything we needed to be comfortable during our short stay in the wonderful city of New Orleans! I would recommend Whitney and Tom's rooms to anyone looking to fully enjoy what New Orleans has to offer and I can't wait to return myself!

    Michael2016-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nola's Studio was our home away from home whilst visiting New Orleans. From Carol the cabbie picking us up from the airport, to the local advice and personalised hospitality that Belinda offered during our stay - we couldn't recommend this place highly enough. The studio was exactly like the pictures and immaculately clean. It had all the basics you would expect and then some! Belinda went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed for a great stay and wasn't far away should we need anything (at all!). We would definitelty stay there again or in one of the other studios that Belinda hosts (these were actually bigger and had even more facilities).

  • I appreciated the quick communication and ease of booking. Although we didn't meet Whitney since she was out of town, Chelsea was available and welcoming during our check-in. The place was super adorable and comfortable. It was absolutely perfect for a weekend getaway for two best friends from HS to catch up and celebrate a 30th birthday. There was always parking right out front since we rented a vehicle to drive along the Gulf Coast and participate in swamp and plantation tours outside the city. It was also very walkable to all the main attractions in the city. We had a BLAST!! Thanks so much! :)

  • Well taken care, lot of nice details. Accurate description; great neighborhood, out of the edge of the French Quarter but accessible and there is a fantastic amazing restaurant a few blocks, lot of historical houses nearby, you will be in NOLA territory rather than the sterile hotels downtown. Photos do justice to the room, comfortable. Bathroom is great. Good communication and helpful host.

    Gonzalo2014-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, wonderful hostess! Belinda thought of everything we might not have and had it for us! We will definately stay at her place when we return to NOLA. Her suggestions for the French Quarter were right on. We highly recommend her place if you want a nice, clean. beautifully decorated apartment when in NO.

  • I had a great stay at Whitney's studio Air B&B. It was in a location convenient to the French Quarter, the Louis Armstrong park, restaurants, and many more attractions. The studio itself was lovely, and clean with just about every amenity you would need for your stay. I would definitely stay here again on another visit.

    Mary2014-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I recently stayed in one of Whitney's apartments, Nola"s Studio, for two nights on our return trip from a national ACF chef's convention in Orlando. We enjoyed the decor and Whitney was kind enough to set the air conditioning to a pleasant 68 (we are from the Pacific Northwest and are not used to the 90+ summer heat and high humidity). The studio location in Treme was convenient to the French Quarter and many of the historic sites we visited during our stay. Our first trip to New Orleans was made more enjoyable by this studio apt.

  • My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful stay! Within walking distance to Jazz Fest, restaurants and the French Quarter in a wonderfully eclectic neighborhood. This property is homey and quiet- a great retreat from the activity of the city! We would be thrilled to stay here again during our future trips to New Orleans.

Come stay with us in a real New Orleans neighborhood and live like a local! The house is a "shotgun double" which is located in the safe, historic and artsy neighborhood only 1.5 miles from the French Quarter known as "Bywater." We are mere steps from the new Crescent Park River Walk that stretches from Mazant street to the edge of the French Quarter. A real scenic delight!
Be our guests in our charming mid-century home! You get a fully furnished side of our double shotgun house. There is also a huge plant covered front porch with a porch swing and bistro table to people watch. Inside is 800 square foot with two bedrooms with queen beds, comforters, pillows, and linens. This is a shotgun house, for those that aren't familiar, one room leads to another as you go to the rear of the house, with the rear bedroom being totally private. The house comes completely furnished with kitchenware, coffee-maker, coffee and tea, microwave, towels, shampoo/conditioner/bath soap, wi-fi, a record player with a light assortment of records, 2 alarm clocks with I-pod/mp3 docks, and a fold-out full sized futon.
In the neighborhood, we're next to Da Joint bbq, and 1-3 blocks from local bars; J&J's Sports Lounge, Vaughans, and BJ's. There is live music, art galleries, more bars, coffee shops and restaurants, all with a local feel within the bywater/marigny area leading to the French Quarter. We have a welcome basket located on the coffee table with fact sheets, maps, menus and other useful info to help you out through your stay. Press the guest book link at the top of our listing homepage for a map and descriptions of some of our local bars, shops and eateries.
  • So this was my first airbnb stay and it worked out well. The description of the place and the neighborhood is very accurate. I think the photos make the place look a little "lighter" and "airier" than in real life, but it is a cute, nice little home. I do wish there was some more information on the bus system as we couldn't find anything about the #5 bus. Never even saw it running. We did take the bus on St. Claude, though, which wasn't bad. The walk to the French Quarter is all of 30 minutes, if not 35. So, if you are used to walking, it is manageable, but if you're there for a while, I would recommend using the bikes. (Lots of people in the neighborhood are on bikes, and it is a flat area, so it would be a nice, easy ride, I would think. We didn't rent the bikes . . .) The biggest drawback was the train that went by (or stopped, so it seemed) in the middle of the night. It blew its horn for what seemed like at least 30 minutes and was pretty impossible to sleep through. We went to The Joint and really enjoyed the BBQ. Overall a nice stay and a very interesting neighborhood with lots of cats!

    Anthony2016-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • The neighborhood is quiet and friendly and we felt safe. The house was clean and comfortable, there was a lot of food waiting for us in the fridge and the cupboard. Steve gave us great recommendations of places in the neighborhood.. We had a great stay there! I can recommend it .

    Hana2013-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Carmen and Steve's. The house was very comfortable and we enjoyed the front porch and living room when we were there. I hope to stay here again next time I'm in town. Thanks!

    Alan2014-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful, spacious, and home-y! Carmen is hospitable and has good recommendations for amenities in the area.

    Teresa2016-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had an awesome time in New Orleans, it's one of my favorite cities! Carmen's place was very nice. I loved the decor and amenities. It was really great to have the cable and the wifi as well, for those few hours we just wanted to chill out. Carmen had the cupboards stocked with local potato chips and local coffee, both were great! Didn't get to explore the neighborhood much, but seems convienient to most things. Took cheap Uber cabs to the French Quarter and beyond. Went to Jimmy's grocery down the block late at night and got what we needed for food and beer. The only thing I will mention because I wish I would have known ahead of time, is how thin the walls are and the fact that there is trainyard nearby. If the neighbors cough next door, you will hear it, and the train sounded off early in the mornings. I would only suggest bringing earplugs if you are a light sleeper, or would like to sleep in. This has nothing to do with how nice Carmen's place is, it's just a FYI. All in all, we had a great time! Carmen was a great communicator and answered my messages promptly.

    Kristen2016-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Without a doubt staying at Steve and Carmen's place was perfect. Our group could not speak better of our stay and would stay there for future trips to NOLA. Steve and Carmen were so helpful and generous. They answered any touristy questions we had, gave us a ride in their car, and even stocked the kitchen with plenty of snacks for our group (at no extra charge!). Bywater is an awesome neighborhood with so much to offer within walking distance (food, art, bars, a pool etc.) The house slept 6 comfortably and Carmen did an awesome job decorating the place with local art. Even the shower was great. Steve and Carmen were so genuine and made our group feel right at home. Considering the price, the house, the neighborhood, and the owners I am sure even Mr. T would "pity the fool" who doesn't stay here.

    Ian2013-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! Carmen always replied quickly to any communication or requests. The house was charming and quirky in the best way. There was a lot to do within a few blocks from the house and a 12 minute bike ride brought you to the French Quarter.

    Sheila2015-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Carmen is a great host ! she was helpful, we followed her suggestion and thanks ti her we lived New Orleans as a local! her house is exactly as we expected it, very cool and in a great position!

*Please read description fully; this room is NOT 100% PRIVATE, it shares a door with the tenant of the home* Loft bed sleeping situated in a shotgun style room in a shared BNB. Located on historic "Esplanade Ridge" with Free Bikes and Full Kitchen
THE HOUSE OF SWEET DREAMS Hi, and welcome! I'm Andrew, Glad you found my listing! Here is a list of all the useful info about my house: **Pricing Fluctuates During Seasons/Holidays $35 is base price** (Website hidden by Airbnb) ***This is NOT a 100% PRIVATE room.*** ***This house is in typical New Orleans style; a "shotgun house" where some rooms share a door and walk through path to other parts of the home. This means you will have tenants of this house walking through the room during your stay. "Le Peach Parlor" is decorated as an environment for you to feel welcome and at home with a loft bed and small sitting area.In the bedroom, you can control your own heating / cooling. This listing is for a full sized loft bed with staircase, in the "living room" (a space used in this shotgun style home to commute between rooms). You have privacy curtains in the loft for sleeping late and being more comfortable. There is plenty of storage space in the loft for your belongings. ***Alex and 7 year old Daughter Vivian are the permanent tenants here. They live in the front of the home and with whom you share their home, including bathroom and kitchen as well as the other bnb room we have. When you book with us, you are agreeing to share your space with them :) I am totally flexible and available to accommodate any check-in or check-out times. However, for regularity sake I suggest: Check in after 3pm Check out before 11am Also note that you're welcome to check in anytime after 3pm but Alex sometimes works late and we can't guarantee the room will be clean until 5:30pm, but please come and make yourself at home :) take out the bikes, or lounge around, (if you're going to take a nap and/or you've checked in before the room has been cleaned, please message us to indicate when we can clean) thanks again and see you soon!
The house is in the Historic "Esplanade Ridge" Close to the "French Quarter/Bourbon St." Downtown and the Historic Marigny Neighborhood/ Frenchman Street. A quiet and safe neighborhood where we know all of our neighbors and everyone looks out for one another, with families and young entrepreneurs dotting the area with eclectic bars, eateries and shops. The house is just a few blocks away from the fairgrounds, coffee shops, several good restaurant, and a small grocery store. A couple more blocks and you are near The New Orleans Museum of Art and City Park! The Superdome is a 10 minute bike ride away and only 1 mile to the French Quarter down beautiful Esplanade Ave. Commonly sought after attractions within 2 miles of the house are: Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street, Superdome, French Quarter, Louis Armstrong Park, City Park, DBA, Cafe du Monde, French Market, Spotted Cat, Cafe Negril, Blue Nile, The Maison, Apple Barrel, Coop's Place, Mardi Gras Zone, Mimi's in the Marigny, All Ways Lounge, and the Bywater, Marigny, 7th Ward, and Treme neighborhoods.
  • Easy access to the French Quarter. Alex and his daughter Vivian were very respectable of my space while there. The bedroom was in between their bedroom and the Kitchen/bathroom of the house, so they would knock before entering.

  • Andrew's place is perfect for a short stay if you're mostly doing sightseeing in New Orleans. While not super-walkable to the French Quarter (it's about a 45-minute walk – we did it one morning), it's a short and cheap Uber right ($6-$10). The setup might feel odd if you're not used to interacting with other house guests / the host. But it's a typical shotgun-style house, and LePeach Parlour is the middle room in the house. Regardless, the setup worked out just fine. Everyone was incredibly respectful and non-intrusive. I appreciated the printed guide, which offered recommended restaurants, cafes, excursions, etc. and how far away they were from the house. We didn't utilize the bikes – it seemed odd that they didn't have breaks, until you see that New Orleans is 100% completely flat! But if we had stayed longer, I might have explored by bike. Otherwise, this was a very budget-friendly and efficient stay for a really fun weekend in New Orleans.

  • This was my first Airbnb experience, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. the use of a bicycle was the selling point here. Without the bike I have no idea how i would have seen so much or have had so much fun. NOLA is very flat, so biking is the ideal way of getting around. Also, this house is in a great location, a simple 5 min cycle to the french quarter. This house is in a suburb, so it allows you to experience the actual NOLA, which is amazing. All the locals in the suburb are so very friendly. Comfy and clean bed, spacious room, aircon... perfect. They have all the facilities you need. Then there is the zine, Coco and Andrew's guide to NOLA. The best! It made my trip. Helped me to find the coolest coffee shops and restaurants I would not have found otherwise. There is also a map in there which really helped, as I did not have one (Website hidden by Airbnb)

    Heleen2013-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying in the Gold Room! Beautifully appointed room with a great bed! The pictures tell the story. Quiet block. But, the really great part was the bikes in the back shed. Having access to a bike meant that I could get around town quickly and easily without having to deal with driving or getting a cab. With parades shutting down streets, having a bike is a great thing! Cute coffee place (closed Monday's) is within a few blocks, if you don't want to use the kitchen.

    Mark2014-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Love, love, loveeee this place! I can't say enough about Coco & Andrew's "House Of Sweet Dreams"! The house itself is old NOLA shotgun style and has been decorated gorgeously by the two artists to reflect the personality of the city. SERIOUSLY, this place is better than any hotel you will come across and Coco & Andrew are the most gracious and loving hosts. They even provide you with a pamphlet with their local recommendations on everything from New Orleans cuisine to safety tips! Truly a job well done, any place I will visit on Airbnb will have an extremely hard time beating this gem!

    Billy2013-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • The host and the permanent resident of the house are both friendly and kind. The neighborhood was calm, safe and residential, but only a quick 5-10 minute bike ride to the French Quarter and the Marigny/Bywater area with lots of more local bars and restaurants than the FQ. It's a great spot in the city, lots of charm on the old houses, with the Pagoda cafe two blocks away--a great breakfast, reading and relaxation spot. The huge plus of the stay here for me was the multiple bikes available, which saved me paying extra money to rent bikes, or having to walk to a bike rental place. The room and house are beautiful with an artsy vibe. Everything was clean and neat. I would definitely recommend this stay, unless you are looking to be walking distance to the FQ (the stretch in between is a little desolate at night). Mattress was comfortable and I enjoyed my little lofted nook.

    Matthew2014-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived late to le peach, so the easy straight forward instructions to gain access inside were very simple to follow. Upon entry, I was so happy to see the charm of the place was even cuter than the pictures! Clean, well decorated, just lovely. Keys and towels were on the table as promised. Sleeping arrangements were comfy. Location was central to the hot spots. The neighborhood was pleasant and safe. We didn't meet Andrew but we had the pleasure of meeting Alex, the tenant who lives in the front part of the house. Very nice guy! All in all, great stay! Thanks Andrew.

Semi-private room* in a cute and cozy shotgun house in the Marigny. 15 minute walk to the French Quarter, 12 minutes to Frenchmen St., 2 minutes to the Bywater. Located around the corner from a few restaurants, bars, a coffee shop, and grocery store. *Note, this room is yours and yours alone, but people have to walk through it to get to their room.
The house is a classic shotgun, a very common style of architecture for homes here in New Orleans. Our bedroom is the first room in the house, and we rent the next three rooms to guests (see our profile for links to the other rooms). Each room is arranged one behind the other. You will be walking through two bedrooms to get to your room, and while you'll have your room to yourself, people will have to walk past your room to access the kitchen, other bedrooms, backyard, and bathroom. Both doorways have doors which you can close for more privacy. Please look through our photos to see the "blueprints" of our house, this will give you an idea to how it's laid out. Your room is the third room in the house. It comes furnished with a built in bed, curtain for privacy, XL twin mattress, reading lamp, a chair, vanity with a large mirror, clean sheets, fresh blankets, four pillows, a towel, and a white noise machine to cancel out house noises. The room accommodates one comfortably.
Our location is probably our greatest feature. Our house is centrally located in the Marigny. Frenchmen St. jazz and music clubs are only six blocks away, the French Quarter is a ten minute, nine-block walk away in one direction, and the Bywater (neighborhood) is just over the train tracks, two blocks in the other direction. We are one block from Mardi Gras Zone, a 24 hour organic grocery store (now with an alcohol license!), and three blocks from Hank's, a 24 hour convenience store (where you can stock up on alcohol and fried chicken). Flora's Coffee shop is two blocks away. There are eight bars (ranging from fancy cocktail bars to dive bars) within a three block radius.
  • I really enjoyed my stay with Katie & Matthijs. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and the place has a nice atmosphere at a great location. Highly recommended!

  • Had a great time at there house. They made me feel welcome and helped me figure how to get around. Thanks!

  • Katie and Matthijs' room in New Orleans was fantastic! The room/house is very accurately described. I had a great time in the surrounding neighborhoods, but it was also close enough to walk to many other popular areas. They have made some changes to the bed (added a canopy/curtain) that makes it feel more private and keeps out sunlight when you're trying to sleep, which was awesome! Katie and Matthijs were awesome hosts. They gave me great local advice and were great people to carry on a conversation with. I highly recommend this room to the solo traveler who is looking for a great deal and a great experience!

    Armando2016-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Katie and Matthijs's place was awesome! Both lovely people and very helpful. The location of the house is fantastic, within walking distance to a lot of cool food places and the French Quarter. The room felt very private and all the other guests were nice as well. Had a great time!

  • Katie & Matthijs are great hosts. Very flexible and supportive. The house is located in a cute neighborhood with nice cafés and downtown is in walking distance. Would love to stay there again. Thank you!

  • Great hosts. Great place

    TJ2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Easily walkable to the quarter but still on a quiet street. I actually didn't have much issue with the people coming and going through the shotgun rooms, but 7 people in a 4.5 room house is a lot. That said, it was still worth it (great price) to be so close to downtown. Would recommend to younger people who don't mind a little "college style" living.

    Lauren2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • I loved it. It was my first Airbnb experience and definitely not my last. Katie was really friendly and gave me advice on all the nice places in New Orleans. And although it was Mardi Gras it was not loud at all during the night. Next time when I visit NOLA I would book again the same room. Thank you Katie & Matthijs

Both doorways have doors which you can close for more privacy. Please look through our photos to see the "blueprints" of our house, this will give you an idea to how it's laid out. Your room is the fourth room in the house, next to the kitchen. It comes furnished with a full size bed, bright lamp for reading, Christmas lights, fresh sheets, clean blankets, pillows, and towels - and it's on a loft! To get up to the bed you will need to climb a ladder up 7 feet to the loft. The height in the loft is around 4 1/2 feet, meaning most people won’t be able to stand, but it’s still fairly easy to get around in for any able-bodied person. Below the loft is a hangout room, where you are more than welcome to hangout and stretch your legs all you want.

  • Really convenient location! And hosts are lovely! Highly recommend this place, only potential downside is you can't stand in the room.

  • We loved staying in the little loft! Keep in mind - it is little. There is no room. It is tiny and stuffy. With that said, the neighborhood is really fantastic. Many bars, restaurants, etc are within walking distance. Several are quite good. We loved Bacchanal for dinner, Mimi's for tapas, and The Joint for great barbecue. Katie and Matthijs are very nice and gave lots of advice. They also helped me out when I left my face wash there and let us come back the next day and grab it! The pups were also very cute. We probably wouldn't stay in the loft for an entire week because there wasn't any privacy, but staying there for one night was just perfect! Ka

    Emily2015-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • What can I possibly say about these two and this wonderful home. In all my stays with Air BNB around the country and in NOLA this is my favorite spot to call home. Katie and Matthijs are beautiful people and perfect hosts. The spot itself is so clean, homey, and just awesome. I can walk around the corner to my favorite coffee spot or eat at any of the amazing offerings of the Marigny/Bywater. Frenchman is about a 10 minute walk, at most, and a very easy and cheap ride in a taxi at night. The area is safe, the neighborhood beautiful, and a true sense of NOLA life. Stay with these two. You will keep coming back as I plan to always.

    Daniel2016-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Katie & Matthijs are the perfect hosts. They make you feel at home the minute you cross the door. They're welcoming, easygoing, always helpful and very nice, but still very respectful of your privacy. They also let me use their washing machine and dryer for free, which was highly appreciated! The room has a low ceiling (about 1 mt from the floor, I guess) but once you'll get used to it, you'll find this mansard cozy and conveniently separated from the rest of the house, so that nobody will have to pass through it. The neighbourhood is quiet all day long and I felt absolutely safe coming home even late at night. Still, you'll be a pleasant short walk from the Quarter and pretty much everywhere you may wanna go. Groceries, bars, restaurants, bus stops, a movie theater... everything you may need is a just few steps away. If you're looking for a room next to the quarter and you're on a budget, this could be the best deal in town!

  • This was our first Airbnb experience and we had a wonderful time! The house is located very close to the French Quarter and Katie was very quick to give us directions/important information. I would highly recommend this place for a cheap and easy stay in the heart of New Orleans.

  • Hollis’s place was clean, close to everything, and he was very communicative. Would highly recommend for anyone coming to NOLA!

  • Hollis was a really nice host to us , hosting us for our last night in New Orleans

    Tara2018-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Hollis went above and beyond from the moment we landed in New Orleans. He picked us up and immediately snuck us into a hidden part of the city that was just incredible. The house is well decorated and has anything you could ask for. Hollis checked on the house daily, usually in the morning which was a perfect time to discuss our day plans and hear his suggestions. He went out of his way to be friendly and help everyone that came into the house. Having the master bath in the house was very convenient but the communal bathroom available was clean and easy to use. I can't wait to come back to NOLA and stay with Hollis again!

  • Enjoyed my stay at Hollis' place! Booked it the same day and he was easy to communicate with. Space looks like it does in the picture and is super cute both inside and out. His is one of the nicer looking places in the neighborhood but it is quiet and the location felt safe. I would stay again!

    Christy2016-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • It was a pleasure staying at Hollis' place. Super clean, stylish and did I say clean? Off the highway so very accessible and a short ride away from all the tourist stuff. Hollis himself was a pleasure. My only regret is that we didn't get to join him for one of the tours. Highly recommended.

    Lily2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We were only in for a quick stay, but Hollis's place was beautiful. Wish we had more time to spend there! Hollis was easy to communicate with, and the check in and out procedure went smoothly.

    Christina2017-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Hollis is a great host. Enjoyed chatting with him and he provided great recommendations for activities in town.

    Jon2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Hollis was above & beyond any host I've had to date, if you're still scrubbing through reviews in order to make a decision, then you don't need to look any further!

  • We only stayed for one night as we waited for an early morning flight. Place is as nice as it looks in the pictures and perfectly accommodated our group of 7. (1 King Bed, 1 Queen, 2 Fulls {bunk beds}, 1 air mattress and 1 couch)

  • Very nice and spacious place to stay.

  • The place was awesome. It accommodated our party perfectly. The host was super nice, answered all our questions and even called to check and make sure that everything was going great!

  • Lovely, open space. Very comfortable. Close to everything, including a short walk to French Quarter.

    Christopher2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the location, quiet enough to allow my 2 year old to nap and reset after a day of sightseeing but also close enough to the french quarter action to be able to walk. We used the St. Charles street car to get to the Garden District which is literally right outside the front door. The few times we called uber , we had a car outside the condo in less than 5 mins. Very Central! My husband was attending a conference at the hyatt and he was able to easily walk. The master bedroom has a very large walk-in closet which we were able to use for my little ones "bedroom" We travel with a portable crib and this worked perfect! Would stay here again on our next trip to New Orleans.

  • Gorgeous cottage with a retro feel. We really enjoyed our time in New Orleans and it was great to come home to such a beautiful space each day. We made an error during check out but Jo and Tyler were really understanding which we truly appreciate - fantastic hosts!

  • My husband and I had a great time staying here! It was a great apartment that was an easy walk to the french quarter. Would definitely stay here again.

    Jacquelyn2018-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Overall great stay. Very comfortable and cute place. Central location that is a quick and easy to Uber to the French Quarter and other sights. The neighborhood felt safe and had a good community feel, however we would have preferred a more secure back door. The deadbolt did not seem to lock all the way and the door knob was very loose.

    Jacob2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • We stay 5 nights durning our recent trip to New Orlean! We enjoyed our stay! The place was spacious, comfortably for 2 people! Uber to the French Quarter is about $7 and takes only 5 minutes !

    Evan2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time here! The descriptions are pretty accurate, it's not super central, probably a 15-20 minute walk to the Marigny neighborhood, but its a nice walk during the day. At night I would have been a little more hesitant walking near the highway, but I never really felt unsafe. It seems like a sort of transitional neighborhood, but everyone there seemed very friendly. I would totally recommend a bike if you're comfortable on one. It makes it easy to cover lots of ground in New Orleans in general, and riding up Esplanade to City Park is a lovely short trip. We went to Alex's Bikes, which was walkable and affordable, and they were super accommodating, even gave us a lock box code so we could return the bikes after hours. So many beautiful streets and homes to see while you ride around. Check out Parkway Tavern for amazing Po'Boys (my friend who grew up there said it was her favorite). Also Bacchanal Wine in the Bywater for a really cool wine-shop-turned-garden-bar with live music and awesome food.

    Max2017-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • As soon as you walked in, you feel at home. The apartment is bright and spacious. Very comfortable. The description was accurate. Their suggestions of places to see and locations where to eat were very nice. The place is a walking distance to downtown and French Quarter. We really enjoyed our stay there.

    Étienne 2016-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Charming split, shotgun style house in the seventh ward of New Orleans. We enjoyed the record player and Bob Marley was on repeat. We were there during a time when several conferences were being held, so uber/lyft rides were anywhere from $8-20 and the ride from the airport cost $36. The pictures were accurate. The only suggestion we have is to put a curtain on the back door. Thank you for our stay!

This free standing casita, tucked away in a tropical garden, includes a small refrigerator with refreshments, jazz records, New Orleans literature, and a clawfoot tub. Off of Esplanade Avenue, it is halfway between the French Quarter and City Park.
The casita is located in the backyard of a side-gallery shotgun cottage. I have been renting it through Airbnb for two years but recently changed to my on profile. The main house was built as part of a series of shotguns developed by two brother from Cienfuegos, Cuba in the early 1860s. The casita is its own building, built in a modern design in 2010. You can come and go as you please through our lush side garden. Inside, there is a very comfortable queen sized bed and bathroom with a clawfoot tub. You are welcome to use the washer and dryer and there is a small refrigerator and kettle. We include some local snacks as part of your stay. We also have a record player with music from New Orleans and books from the region and my own nonprofit publishing organization, the Neighborhood Story Project, for you to enjoy while you are here.
This old Creole neighborhood, in the heart of downtown New Orleans, is in between the French Quarter and City Park. Just a block and a half off Esplanade Avenue, a beautiful boulevard canopied in live oak trees, it is also very close to Bayou Road, the first road in New Orleans! From the house, you can walk to this street, where there is a wonderful collection of shops, including the Pagoda Cafe with the best coffee in town and wonderful breakfast and lunch (located in an old Chinese laundry building), the King and Queen's Emporium (which sells handmade soaps in one of the city's first public market buildings), the CocoHut (New Orleans/Jamaican food), and Domino Sounds Record Shop, which has been featured in national publications as one of the best record stores in the country.
  • We had a great experience at the Casita. The process was simple which made the trip even better. We enjoyed the gifts and listening to the records. Thank you Rachel!

    Tiffany2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Casita is beautiful. My sister and I walked to the French Quarter everyday and then caught taxis back at night. It was lovely and clean, with welcoming drinks and cookies on arrival. There was plenty of information and brochures available too. Thanks for a great stay Rachel

    Merryn2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Its a nice cozy QUIET hideout In plane sight! I had to show up a little bit before check-in so We took a walk around the block and saw a wedding, a birthday party, and a film being made! All around the same block! That was so cool. My favorite part was the tub and the record player. I would definitely stay again when coming back to New Orleans.

    Carlos 2017-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel was great! She was very responsive to texts and willing to work with me on check in and check out times. The Casita is very private tucked away on a quiet street and we slept great. Thank you Rachel!

    Chris2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Casita was just what we were seeking for our trip. Close to everything, and very comfortable for the two of us. If you want to walk places I'm not sure this is the place for you, but if your ok with a quick uber ride then this is perfect. We liked having the ability to leave the hustle of the french quarter. The internet wasn't very reliable but hopefully you won't be doing school work on vacation like me for it to even matter. Everything was just as described, and communication with the host was super easy and she was very accomodating.

    Arielle2017-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • A really lovey spot. Cozy linens, a record player for the new albums we got in Nashville (and Rachel's, too), the friendly neighborhood, and a great deal of privacy helped make our stay a good one. Stop by Fatma's Cozy Corner for delish Turkish coffee and breakfast and lunch goodies!

    Casey2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved the casita at Rachel's. It had everything we really needed and anything we lacked Rachel supplied (messaging Rachel was the best form of contact for this busy, responsible lady). Paul and I look after my 86-year-old mother at home in London, so the relaxing, independent style of the casita was really welcome - a much-needed holiday. The two chairs outside the casita are romantically placed under bamboo canes and the drinks and nibbles Rachel left for us on arrival we gratefully received. The record player with jazz records supplied was a stylishly appropriate touch and the smell of the lemon tree nearby, a charmingly evocative welcome. It was interesting both living and enjoying New Orleans in a "local", friendly area rather than solely focusing on, for example, the touristy French Quarter, which was (of course)also great! And not far away. We unexpectedly made quite a number of friends, especially via the Pagoda Cafe which Rachel rightly recommended as a local "hub".

  • This was a nice clean place great location and the host Ben was very helpful.

    LaTanya2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic. Close to everything! Parking was easy, but sometimes had to park around the corner. Entire house was clean. The house is really big, could sleep a lot. I could hear and feel the neighbor walking around, if you're a light sleeper it'll wake you up for sure. Neighborhood seemed safe, there's a park really close by. Jeff Davis Blvd was great for a quick run. There's a bar/tavern close by, it's open 24 hours with live music every night; check it out. It's fun. Overall - great host/house

    Irael2016-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Ben was very responsive and provided all the info we needed and more. The house is great, clean, spacious and welcoming. We felt safe and was strategically located between the Jazz festival and the French quarter.

    Moran2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable, centrally located, and within walking distance to Katie's, a great neighborhood restaurant.

    Karl2017-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • This traditional shotgun style home is comfortable, spacious and a close drive or Uber to the French Quarter or anywhere you'd want to go in NOLA. It's in a walkable residential neighborhood, which we liked. We were two couples spending 3 nights in New Orleans, and this place was suitable for what we needed. The shotgun layout of the home means there are no doors (except for the two bathrooms) and one room leads to the next. This wasn't an issue for us as there's a relative degree of privacy between the two bedrooms (you can't see one room from the other), but it's something to keep in mind if you're traveling with friends. We also loved the back porch and the two neighborhood cats who came faithfully every night to visit and get a meal (an option if you're a cat person). I recommend this place if you want a feel for living in a New Orleans neighborhood, but would still like to be close to the cultural and/or tourist-y stuff.

    Magda & Chris2017-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Ben was very responsive when I had issues with the internet. He came right over and resolved the problem. The house was very nice clean and comfortable. The neighborhood was safe and centrally located.

    GERALD2016-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Ben's place was amazing! Plenty of beds for our group and having two bathrooms was a major plus. The location was great giving a place to retreat back to after the French quarter, and also having easy access to grocery stores and cool local venues. The only downside is parking can be a little difficult, but our group was driving a minivan.

Visit our 100-year-old warehouse loft! We are one block from the Canal Streetcar in a true NOLA neighborhood. 2 Blocks to Whole Foods & Lafitte Greenway bike path. Near French Quarter, Mardi Grad Parade Routes and Fairgrounds.
Location, location location! We are close to everything! We lived uptown for many years and just moved. We love it here and can walk to everything. There is free, ample street parking right in front of the property.
  • Wonderful place to stay, perfect location right off the canal street trolley. The neighborhood is quiet and there is ample parking for easy arrival. Would stay here again!

    Lindsey2017-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jon and Keely were wonderful hosts! The room looks exactly like the pictures! The open bay area between the two rooms is awesome and unique. So cozy and relaxing. NO WINDOWS!!! Which, for our vacation was perfecttttt! Great security, great bed, great location, and wonderful Southern hospitality! Also, the "stuffiness" issue has been solved by a floor air unit. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this listing to a couple! Thank you!

    Basia2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Neighborhood is in transition, but no problems. John and Keely are very nice and available for any questions. Room is good sized for us (2 people and a dog). Plenty of beer in fridge.

    Mel2015-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice accommodations, perfect location a block from the streetcar so it was easy to get to most places we wanted to go :) Jon and Keely were awesome, always willing to give us suggestions on where to eat and hang out! Would stay again for sure

    Alexandra2016-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were perfect and very responsive. The room is pretty much as described in the photos with a nice common area with the TV and fridge which you share with the other "loft" staying above you. I was there in the blistering heat of August and didn't have a problem with the air conditioning. It was perfect and sweet relief. It is about a 15/20 minute walk from the accommodation to the French quarter, or you could simply catch the trolleys which are only a couple minutes away. I will agree with what others have said about the area-it is definitely a little rough. Many houses empty and not looking very nice. I'd suggest to always head to Canal St (one parallel) to walk anywhere. As a female traveling by myself I had a couple instances of people yelling out things and I would definitely not be walking around this area at night. Probably very different if you aren't by yourself and it could have just been bad luck on my part. But the room itself it lovely and the hosts lovely.

    Madeleine2015-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We walked out after inspecting the room and looked for other accommodations. We contacted Jonathan, and as of this posting, he has not returned our call and could not be reached. We called Airbnb and they could not reach Jonathan either. Do not rent this or you will regret it. Listing and past reviews do not match what we saw in person. Room has no windows. It's dirty and it smells like mold. Poor lighting so we turned on our phone flashlights to truly see the clealiness of the room. Location is in the shady part of NOLA. This room is a garage or storage space made to look like an apartment. The air in the room was stale and unheathy and had a very strong mold odor. The only way to ventilate it is to open the front door. We saw homeless people walking the street. We did not feel safe at all.

    Maria (Lynn) & George2018-02-24T00:00:00Z

    Christine2016-04-22T00:00:00Z

  • Brandon’s place is hidden jewel where to escape from otherwise very lively New Orleans. Location is safe and downtown of New Orleans is easily reachable by car. Leonor was really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. She provided all information and stuff we have asked for. Brandon’s apartment was super clean and cozy and we loved staying there.

    Adela2018-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice, cozy place to stay in New Orleans. Brandon's place is located in a safe, quiet neighborhood that lets you drop into all the action in NOLA and then get away from it all. The place is nicely furnished and very clean. I hope to stay here again.

Amazing aprtment in a Historic Mansion located in Treme. This home is located wonderful neighborhood to have a real New Orleans experience. This home is full of history and culture. One bedroom, one sofa bed, a full kitchen and a wonderful balcony .
  • Cute place & very hospitable! Walkable or short Uber ride. Would definitely recommend.

  • Do not hesitate to book! The house was beautiful, and I felt like we got an authentic experience staying here over a hotel. Brandon was out of town, so Truedell hosted us and she was amazing! Apartment D was really its own secluded area, and both the bed and pull out couch were super comfy. It was about a $6 Uber from the French Quarter or Frenchman St.

    Haley2017-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Really great space with everything you need. Brandon and Truedell were very accommodating. The place was extremely clean and I felt like we were in a upscale hotel. I would very recommend anyone to stay here!

    Harrison2017-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Overall, we had a nice long weekend in NOLA. The place is a good size, and has charm. The apartment is only a short Uber ride to most major attractions - including Bourbon St, Frenchman St, the Garden District, and Magazine St. Our contact for Check In and hospitality during our stay was Truedell, and she was very nice and helpful. A few notes for future guests - we were told by a few locals that walking around during the day was fine, but we should plan to secure Ubers/Lyfts after dark based on the neighborhood. Also, there are two broken/missing window panes in the apartment that contributed to noise. Recommend checking with the host in advance on status of repairs.

    Kevin2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful home gave us the full New Orleans experience with its elegant French style and comfortable accommodations. The check-in and check-out processes were simple and easy. Even though Brandon and Truedell were not home during our 2-night stay, the hosts were welcoming and hospitable from afar! This place is just a short ride from Frenchman and Bourbon streets and all the other fun action. When dropping us off, one of our Uber drivers said that it was one of the best-looking AirBnB's she had seen. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here for your next NOLA adventure!

    Emily2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • The house looks even better in person. It was very authentic and cozy. We were greeted with open arms by Trudelle and she gave us plenty of tips on where to go and what to do. When we got to our room our expectations were exceeded. We had everything we needed. We loved the space and the location. We walked mostly to all our destinations. We felt safe in this area. I could not have been more happy about my stay here.

Private guest suite in a beautiful, historic, and newly renovated home. This charming suite comes with a sitting area, kitchenette, dining/working table, private bath, and bedroom with a comfortable queen size bed. This is not a shared space. Have a peaceful retreat in Holy Cross, a quiet neighborhood located just 15 minutes from the French Quarter by car. We're four blocks away from the Mississippi River and the best sunset views in the city!
The guest suite is a bright and cheery place, full of natural light and located in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. It's the ideal place to have a little retreat, or to relax and recharge before a night out on the town. The suite is located at the front of the house with a private entrance (the front door), so you can come and go as you please. You will share a wall with my living area, but you will not have access to my portion of the house, and vice versa. You may hear the muffled sounds of me, my boyfriend Matt, and my dog Harley bopping around from time to time. The guest bathroom shares a wall with my bedroom, so please be considerate of sound in the bathroom from 11pm to 7am, and if possible, avoid late night showers. The guest bedroom is tucked away from the rest of the house, so not much sound travels in or out, and it feels private and secluded. Feel free to help yourself to anything in the suite! This includes coffee, tea, granola bars, and oatmeal. Whatever you don't use will be provided for the guests who stay after you, so please don't take more than what you use during your stay - a snack for the road is fine to take, though! Some bottled water is provided, but water from the bathroom sink is also safe to drink. There is plenty of storage space for your things, including a closet in the bedroom with hangers, two nightstands with empty drawers, and a medicine cabinet and vanity in the bathroom. The bedroom has a full-length mirror behind the door so you can make sure that your outfit is on point before leaving the house, and there are earplugs and a white noise machine for restless sleepers.
Holy Cross is a beautiful, peaceful, and historic neighborhood located in the Lower 9th Ward. It's only a 10 to 15 minute drive from the French Quarter, and 20 to 30 minutes from the Garden District. This neighborhood strikes a balance between the feeling of country and city. Many locals live if here because they want a quieter experience of the city. The levee that overlooks the Mississippi River is just four blocks away. You can walk or run the levee for a few miles in either direction and enjoy beautiful views of downtown New Orleans, passing cargo ships and steamboats. It's really something else. Holy Cross is located in the Lower Ninth Ward, which is one of the areas that was most effected by Katrina. As a result, the neighborhood is still being rebuilt. Like many places in New Orleans, you will see newly renovated homes sitting side-by-side with abandoned buildings. This doesn't reflect on the character of the neighborhood, or the awesome people who live in it!
  • My girlfriend and I loved our time at Laura's light and open home. The atmosphere was perfectly suited to induce relaxation after a day of exploring New Orleans French Quarter. We highly recommend Laura's home for anyone craving to visit this wild and beautiful city.

  • Lauren is great! She is an air bnb star! You'll love her beautiful home!

    Kevin2017-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful suite in an awesome neighborhood. It is located in a quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. We walked the short distance to the Mississippi River for the sunset and it did not disappoint! Ride sharing is an easy way to get around - lift usually only charged $11-$18 dollars to get to the quarters and bourbon street. I definitely highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be back!

    Lindsey2018-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend Lauren's beautiful space! It's perfectly comfortable and accommodating, and Lauren was a gracious and friendly host. My only tip is to rent a car - I took ride shares everywhere (which is very easy to do) but especially if you want to explore New Orleans, having your own vehicle will make it much easier (and cheaper!).

    Sica2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lauren's place was exactly what I needed during my stay in The Big Easy! It was quiet, peaceful, and I appreciated not having the distraction of a TV. It allowed me to catch up on some reading. Comfy bed and a great shower. It is somewhat in a secluded part of town, but minutes away from the French Quarter. I would stay again the next time I'm passing through.

    Matthew2017-10-10T00:00:00Z

This cute 1 bedroom/1 bathroom apartment truly feels like an oasis. Let it be your refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is located in Treme on Bayou Road, near the famed French Quarter. Perfect for Jazz Fest and other events. Book today!
Our apartment is located in a historic home. You'll appreciate the beauty of the original floors and finishes. The furnishings are both comfortable and functional, while honoring the style of the home. We can comfortably accommodate two people, although a third person could definitely sleep on the couch.
You'll love the neighborhood. Tremé is a culturally rich area, full of gorgeous architecture and a deep musical tradition. It's an easy walk to the French Quarter and famed Congo Square. Also nearby is St. Louis Cemetary #1, resting place of Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau.
  • This place is magical! From the classic New Orleans decor to the lagniappe from the host (i.e. Local jazz station playing in the apartment to greet us upon arrival). Brandon and Trudell were incredibly friendly and responsive. My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to booking this rental again.

    Sheereen2015-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Brandon was an excellent host. One of my best airbnb rentals to date. Lots of very nice touches in apartment. Nice drinks and snacks waiting for us when we arrived. We had some very minor issues with a loud neighbor one night and the cable being out, but Brandon was instantly reachable and resolved all issues to our satisfaction very quickly.

    Nathan2014-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I decided to visit New Orleans rather last minute. We found Brandon's listing the night before we left. Thankfully Brandon was very prompt answering all the questions we had and getting back to us. We booked with him and are very glad we did! Everything went smoothly. We actually arrived at 4:30am because we had to get on the road after work and Brandon was very understanding and met us at the house to give us the keys. The apartment is amazing! A very big one bedroom apartment with a small kitchen and comfortable furnishings. The only problem we had was that we are both shower lovers and there is only a bath. It actually didn't turn out to be that big of a problem though! Brandon was attentive and awesome the entire stay: answering questions, offering suggestions and even a quick tour of New Orleans. As an airbnb first experience, this was great and we'll definitely be staying with Brandon next time!

    Tatiana2014-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • CLASSY AND CHARMING! We just had a an incredible few days in Nola and coming home every night to this apartment was a bonus. Brandon and his "team" have done a beautiful job restoring an apt in this historic home. There is nothing cheap about it. Everything down to the glass wear is top notch. We arrived to home made Muffaletta and Champagne in the fridge, and a guest basket with tons of necessities! All needs were met above and beyond. The place was super clean, access was easy and there was plenty of parking. We live in NY so we are not strangers to walking. It's small trek to the French Quarter and Frenchman street, but if you're adventurous, there are some great things to visit in Treme as well. The apt across the hall is being renovated as well and we'll be excited to stay in THAT one when we return. Thank you Brandon, Trudell and team!!! Super experience.

    Cullen2014-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a beautiful old home and the apartments are well appointed and tastefully decorated. Truly a top notch place to stay.

    Stephen2018-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is beautiful! Very well decorated and just an overall luxurious vibe. The bed was very comfortable. Location was great--a short and safe walk to the French Quarter (about a mile on a pretty street or a $6 cab ride). Brandon was an excellent host and very helpful in accommodating our unexpectedly late/delayed arrival. Would definitely stay here again next time we're in town!

    Rachel2015-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying at this apartment! It was so beautiful and clean! Truedell was extremely helpful and kind! I highly recommend staying here!

    Anna2016-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • We would recommend staying at Brandon’s place. The space is beautiful and very well decorated. It definitely has a “New Orleans” style. Our host was very helpful and we were able to contact them right away when we had a question. It is very close to the French Quarter and Bourbon street and about a $10 Uber ride to get there. We would not say it was located in the best area, it was on a pretty noisy street with dogs barking all night. Also, another thing to note is that several other people are renting apartments in this house and if they go on the balcony after a night of partying, it is very loud. At the end of the day, we would recommend Brandon’s place to people wanting to visit NOLA.

  • The Marie Antoinette room was very comfortable, and it had a lovely, large bed! Checking in was simple, and it was fabulous to have two bathrooms and a kitchen in the house. Overall, I was happy with the room and the house, and very happy with the surrounding area as well.

    Dorothy2017-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Property was as described. Room was very clean and location was close to public transport. Very close to the French quarter but far away enough that we could enjoy a quiet night.

  • I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Andrew and I ended up having a lot of mutual friends, which makes sense with him being from DC and I'm living in VA. I didn't get the chance to meet him or Amanda, but they were very prompt with text replies, still when it was wasn't even a question being posed. The Bywater is such a great location! I feel safe walking around at night, I was spending a good deal of time there this trip before the dates of my room rental even came up. It has great bars, cute shops, record store, parks, there's always something fun to do in or very close to the area. The zine that came with the house was full of actually useful tips and interesting suggestions that I appreciated, even though I have been to New Orleans many times before!! The Marie Antionette room is super classy. GOLD SHEET?? Hello! It was well stocked with everything from tissues to lightbulbs to condoms. The bed was very comfortable. The windows let in a lot of light even when the curtain is drawn, and even though there is not much room in between the window and the house next door. Voodoo magic?? Who knows? There are two toilets in the house, always a great bonus. Speaking of well stocked, the main bathroom was also. Nail polish, bubble bath, many extra towels, tweezers?? I could go on. The kitchen was adorable with a nice island bar for eating at, and had a radio which you could also plug your phone/etc into(one in your rental room as well). Short biking distance from a really cute co-op grocery store, and updated equipment to cook on. I didn't meet a fellow housemate I didn't like, and the people who came to tidy up the rooms in between guests were really great, too. It seems like Andrew & Amanda have a very well thought out Air bnb experience set up for you. Lots of little touches that seem very considerate and like they've been doing this long enough to cover all the bases. I highly recommend this location or any of their other listings!

    Katherine2014-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • The House of Sweet Dreams was a great place to stay during our short visit to Nawlins. The place was clean and comfortable with an eclectic flair. We didn't spend much time in the house but it seems like a great place to meet other travelers. The walls in the house are thin so you just have to be mindful of your neighbors. Andrew provided us with an excellent guide of the city that we used throughout our stay. A recommended place to stay!

    Peggy2014-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay in the Marie Antoinette room. Clean, quiet and in a great location. Would definitely recommend!

  • The listing was very accurate. The neighbirhood was alright; much different than im used to but quiet. I didnt ever see the host. I introduced myself to someone i saw cleaning, but still not sure if that was the host. The room and bathroom were very clean. I appreciated the detailed instructions for check in/out. It was very close the everythubg i wanted to do and see.

  • We had a GREAT experience at Andrews place. It was in a great location and we certainly used the free bikes to get around everyday. The place was clean and private. • The place is great, the host is AWESOME! Mrs. Karthy is probably one of the kindest and friendliest person you would ever meet. She kindly help me and my friends finding breakfast spots and things to do around the house. She was also very helpful. She was always around to help me. I loved where the house was located to. Pretty streets and buildings.

  • Whenever we got to the house I️t had not been cleaned yet because of a mixup with the cleaning crew but with a simple phone call we went out to eat and everything was fixed by the time we got back! Communication and help was fantastic! Would recommend to anybody trying to stay slightly outside of downtown. The Uber ride was only a few minutes to the French Quarter and was under $10.

    Dillon2017-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Katharine was great! We got in on a late flight, and she was very accommodating. The house was very cute, and perfect for us (two couples). We didn't have a car, but were able to get around just fine. There are some nice restaurants in the neighborhood, and the park where you can catch the trolley downtown is about a half mile to a mile away. We tried a few of the restaurants near the house that Katharine had recommended, and they were all great!

    Megan2016-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Katharine was an amazing hostess, and far beyond accommodating. She excitedly showed us all the local food spots and made sure we were well oriented in terms of finding our way around. Her place is incredibly beautiful and well maintained. The location is within walking distance to City Park and the streetcar, which made getting around very easy. We will definitely return!

    Alicia2015-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot add much more than all the other glowing reviews, Katharine's place was fantastic, the perfect place for our visit to New Orleans. The house is cute, clean and tidy, with everything you'd need for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend staying here.

  • Very charming house. Katahrine was very present and available for help, answer questions....We spent a great time in heart of NOLA. Looking forward to coming back. For sure we recommend this location.

    Jean Luc2015-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Katharine was great - quickly welcomed us and showed us everything we needed. The place was great - even with the open loft we all slept like rocks. Super clean as well. And while on initial arrive you might be a bit weary of the main road being nearby, it was perfectly cozy and the overall neighborhood was awesome. Great central location for getting around to all the various neighborhoods and sights, and tons of cute cafes and such nearby. Would definitely stay here again!

Between the sunlight glowing in from the many windows and the glorious screened in porch with its yellow swing, I was in heaven. So serene. If you're in need of a getaway @ a super decent price, book this home!

  • Ryan's home was just perfect for a weekend getaway. The house was spotless, and linen was provided. It's just a short drive from the French Quarter, and far enough away to get a reprieve from the swarms of people. I can't rave enough about his hospitality. 10/10 would recommend.

Our newly renovated apartment is right in the middle of town, within walking distance of Magazine St. and just on the edge of the Garden District. Plus, it's just 3 blocks from the streetcar and St. Charles Ave.
Please be our guest in the newly renovated apartment situated at the back of our really old (1850s), charmingly-dilapidated house. It’s just a couple blocks from the parade route/street car/St. Charles, and only about a mile from the Superdome. They don’t call it Central City for nothing! Walk past the main house, down a winding brick pathway, and up the stairs to the private entrance. You enter into the kitchen, with concrete countertops, old wood floors, and plenty of sunlight pouring through the original wood windows with old bubbly glass. Fix yourself a drink and head up the spiral stairs to the bedroom. Just around the iron handrail is a full size bed, and plenty of reading material about the places you’ll want to see and the food you’ll want to eat while you’re here. Then venture out the bedroom door onto the balcony. Did I mention you’re on the third floor now? The view is excellent, the palm trees sway in the wind, and you can hear the marching bands as they pass down the parade route. I almost forgot the bathroom. Honestly, it’s not huge. But it’s everything you need, plus a claw foot tub. And cozy towels, and bubble bath, and . . . well, it’s a bathroom. And just in case you’re wondering, it also has a flat-screen tv, cable, internet, a microwave, a coffee maker, all the things you need in a kitchen, and probably some welcoming Abita beers in the fridge.
Central City is the Best! We're right in the middle of everything. . . and I don't mean right in the middle of the French Quarter, I mean in the middle of a less touristy, little bit quieter New Orleans. We're just on the edge of the Garden District, a short walk from Magazine St, and just 3 blocks form the streetcar line. Plus, we're only one block from the super hip, up and coming Oretha Castle Haley Blvd where you'll find the best coffee, the indiest movies, a few restaurants, the new Food and Beverage Museum, and a tatoo parlor in case you're in the market. So come check out my neighborhood, you'll love it like I do!
  • What an amazing place! Super convenient and very private . Highly recommend it!

    John2016-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. I had such an incredible stay in New Orleans. You're blocks away from St Charles where you can grab a great cup of coffee, do some sight seeing, or what ever else may tickle your fancy! Highly recommend checking out Casa Borrega for lunch/dinner. Jackson was incredibly accommodating and tended to any/all of our needs. Pearl, the dog, was absolutely adorable, and made sure to come say hi to us when ever possible. I'm glad I got to say goodbye to her because she was one of the best experiences I had in NOLA! The house is beautiful. The area is nice. Jackson and Jeff are both amazing people and answered any questions I had promptly. I would HIGHLY recommend their place if you're planning on staying in New Orleans.

    Ben2015-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • I love this place! It has that nice rustic feel to it and has everything you may need while staying in NOLA. From the beginning of our trip, i knew i made the right call. The house is beautiful. Very large with a great front yard. The place was in the back of the house looking down on the backyard. Very high ceilings (which is good especially for my bf who is almost 6'5) so there is no worry about hitting your head or arms in the ceiling fan. We walked in and Jackson had a hand drawn map ready for us. Pointing out all the nice bars and restaurants within walking distance from us. She also left some pamphlets on things to do while there as well as a bike map. This place is right near the St Charles Trolley car which is a lifesaver especially if you plan on huffing it everywhere. There were some hens in the backyard which i loved. Jackson even asked if we wanted some eggs while we were there. Fresh eggs, yes please! The stairs took about an hour to get used to going up and down but you get the hang of it. The bathroom was nice as well. I like the tub/shower combo. Overall my experience was excellent. Jackson is super nice and helpful while there. Did not see her as much but when we did it wasn't awkward at all. Just like staying at a friends house. I would totally plan on coming back here again.

  • My boyfriend and I came a bit early and Jackson was very welcoming. Because we came in a little earlier than expected she gave us a great spot to have breakfast which gave us a chance to walk around the neighborhood and explore the area. The location was excellent; quite and the street car was accessible which was only a 5 min walk. The bed was comfy, place clean and we felt right at home. We loved everything about Jackson's place and would recommend it to anyone planning a trip to NOLA.

  • This apartment in Central City was perfect for two. Jackson was accommodating in arranging check-ins and outs as our travel times changed due to delays, and the place was definitely clean, stocked and welcoming when we arrived. I loved the giant windows that let in lots of natural light, and the high ceilings with fans to keep circulation going. The apartment is tucked back from the street, away from unnecessary hubbub, and overlooks palm trees, a swimming pool, and cool, old courtyards. The spiral staircase can be tricky in the night, and probably not best for anyone with mobility issues, but I kinda dug it. I loved the feel of the place. St Charles, where the streetcar runs, is a hop, skip and jump away, and the house is situated perfectly for walking to watch parades, going to Magazine Street, or walking around the Garden District. If you're on foot and want to go to the French Quarter or Downtown Riverwalk, I'd recommend coming when it's NOT Mardi Gras, as the walk is pretty long, and the streetcar on St Charles is waylaid by parades, and traffic is generally a standstill around the parade routes. Any other time, cab rides and hopping a streetcar is very convenient. I highly recommend this place, and would likely stay here again if I return to New Orleans any time soon.

    Courtney2015-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I loved this apartment! Jackson was a great host, giving us advice when we arrived about places to go and information about getting around. We loved being able to walk to Magazine Street, and loved that the streetcar was so close. My husband also looked forward to seeing Pearl everyday! We would recommend this apartment to others, and would definitely stay again!

    Kim2016-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jackson, little Winnie and Pearl warmly welcomed us and let us into the beautiful unit. The garden, patio and upstairs balcony were especially lovely and we very much enjoyed sitting outside and relaxing! The location was nice, quiet and beautiful. Overall, I would highly recommend staying at Jackson's gorgeous place!

    Judie2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Location: very convenient to streetcar and Garden District. Neighbourhood in the process of gentrification. Jackson: friendly; very helpful with recommendations for special interests; ordered taxi for us when our phone not working; lovely welcome package. Apartment: very nicely presented; comfy; plenty of room; lovely private balcony. Spiral staircase has narrow treads so awkward to carry big or heavy luggage upstairs to bedroom.

Great, 2 large room suite with king bed, new jacuzzi (someone broke the jacuzzi part) bath and all the amenities you need. There's a mini fridge (for all your great local leftovers), microwave, coffee maker, tea pot, brita water and cable/wifi.
2 large private rooms (parlor and bedroom) and full bath in a great location, with cafe & coffee shops nearby. The bedroom has a king size bed and the parlor room has a twin bed, if you need more sleep areas. I also have a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The space has your own private locked entrance and is just off my front porch, which is a great spot to have your morning coffee or tea. Easy off-street parking, too. I have 2 bikes (huffy’s) you can use at your own risk, but you need to let me know before I leave for work so I can get them out for you. You are responsible for damage or theft and I req a $10/bike use fee to cover maintenance, bc it req extra work to tend to bikes. There are neighborhood rentals, but I think they are 30-40/day. Also, if traveling w pet need to approve with me and there is a $20 fee for pets. If you are a solo guest or staying longer than 6 days I will give you a break on price!o
The marigny is the greatest neighborhood and this space is all yours--its your own oasis in the front of my house w own entry. Easy and close (usually just in front of house) street parking. You can walk to the French quarter, frenchmen st., or just enjoy all the marigny has to offer. I have cable, wi-fi, central ac & am willing to consider pets. Note: I have 2 dogs & 2 cats that are very friendly, but they stay in my living space. This is a great place to stay for an authentic new Orleans experience in one of usa's best neighborhoods (look it up, it's true).
  • Such a beautiful and comfortable house - great choice if you want to feel at home in the city, especially on a short visit. Some lovely neighbourhood places, from morning breakfast to evening music, and very easy to coordinate with Kerrie. Definitely recommend!

    Sarah2014-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • New Orleans is a great place to visit. The food, the history, the culture, and the people were awesome! Kerrie's place is in a great spot!! Very close to the action of the French Quarter (and the up and coming Bywater), but far enough away to have peace and quiet. My wife and I unfortunately didn't get to meet her due to Kerrie having prior obligations, but she was very helpful and open with recommendations. She didn't even seem annoyed at the countless text messages I sent! :) All in all, I would definitely stay in her place again!

    Erickson2013-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Kerrie was a fantastic host! Her house is in a beautiful location -- on the border of the Bywater and the French Quarter -- exactly where we wanted to be. You'll have a private entrance into your own living room / bedroom area (we used it as a second bedroom.) The master bedroom was plenty big with a TV and a dresser for all your clothes. A private bathroom with a shower/tub and Kerrie was nice enough to provide us with all of the towels we needed. Beautiful neighborhood, great host, and an excellent time. Will definitely stay here again.

    Brian2012-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • For visitors looking to explore the heart of New Orleans, this location can't be beat. Within walking distance to French Quarter, lots to explore within Marigny and Bywater too. While central to the sights and sound, we weren't on top of them - which made for really peaceful sleeps and quiet mornings. Thank you Kerrie and Terrance for your hospitality!

    Cirse2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kerrie was flexible, reliable, and we barely saw her(haha). The porch is perfect for relaxing, the room is tidy and the updated bathroom felt luxurious. The beach cruisers were in great shape and the checking in and our could not have been easier. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay Kerrie. My sister and I will most certainly be back.

    Leah2014-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Kerrie's place was perfect for our 4 day stay in NOLA. There was plenty of space for our belongings and the neighborhood is within walking distance of Frenchman Street and the French Quarter. It is also far enough away from tourist areas to be able to get a feel for local life. We especially enjoyed the delicious breakfasts at Cake Café and Bakery which is right across the street. Kerrie replied to any questions we had within minutes and was able to accommodate our requests to check in early and leave our bags after check out since we weren't leaving until the evening. We would definitely return to Kerrie's place.

    Amy2016-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was at a great location and in walking distance of frenchmen street and the french quarter. Also there are many cute restaurants and cafes in the area. Kerrie was the perfect host! Responsive, caring and always there when we needed her! Thank you!

    Michèle2015-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a terrific week at Private Oasis in the Marigny. The apartment is very private, well appointed and has a very comfortable king size bed. The location is ideal. The neighborhood is quiet yet you are only a short walk to the clubs on Frenchmen Street and some great dining options in the Bywater. We look forward to our next visit. Thanks, Kerrie!

Classic old New Orleans "shotgun" house. Vintage, rustic living. Not glamorous. Not a hotel. Cracks in the walls, old doors. Located just a few blocks from the French Quarter and only two blocks from "The Marigny" and a short walk to Frenchmen Street with live jazz and blues bars and clubs playing all through the night. First time using Airbnb? Get $40 off your stay with this link! https://abnb.me/e/IfmJLljEJJ
100 year old shotgun house and you can feel it. It has cracks in walls here and there. It has old charm but the claw-foot bathtub has stains that won't come out and that's a problem for some people. I love this house but it's not for people who are not ok with "bohemian/rustic" living.
15 min walk to French Quarter and 10 min walk to Frenchmen Street. 2 blocks from bus and street car. 70% black, 30% white ish. For all of you who think that black is dangerous this will not be a good town for you. My neighbors are friendly and usually its very quiet and residential. Kids play basketball in the street. People hang out on their porches etc.
  • This apartment is a nice, comfortable, uncluttered space and a really good value for the large amount of space and proximity to the French Qtr. and Marigny. Isobel was always available when we needed help with the amenities. All of her written instructions were detailed and thorough, and we were mostly able to live there independently. She even accommodated us with a late afternoon departure on our last day, so we didn't have to lug around luggage for half a day. Although the immediate neighborhood is a little challenging, the location is ideal. I would plan to stay here for future trips and recommend the space for other travelers.

    Catherine2014-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really neat place. If you are looking for a 4 start hotel experience, probably move on. But if you enjoy quirky and artsy, this is a really cool experience. It is close to the Quarter, but far more interesting is the Marigny area close by. Isobel's guide included a few cafe recommendations and they were spot on. If you are looking to stay in this area, don't be fooled by the looks of the neighborhood. There is a school nearby so it gets a little busy in the morning, but I had no problems. I enjoyed my stay, the rooms have character by the truckload. I was by myself, but this could be a great location for a small group looking to enjoy New Orleans.

    W Christian2016-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Isobel's place was just right for us (two friends in New Orleans for a long weekend trip). The location was very convenient to Frenchman street and beyond (with many good cafes and bars within a short walk). The flat is full of cool vintage details that really add to the ambiance of being in New Orleans. The building is clearly old and it's definitely no hotel, but we enjoyed it for what it was (and the AC worked great). The neighborhood didn't feel like the safest, but neighbors were friendly, we took cabs at night, always double checked locks, and were just fine. I didn't meet Isobel, but she was responsive and easy to coordinate with.

    Elena2015-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place offers a unique NOLA taste which significantly differs from the cheesy Bourbon street experience. The house with is really nice where you can feel the history and the present of the city. The neighbourhood may look skeetchy for first but we had no problems at all, all the neighbours were really kind and after the first walk we felt ourselves at home. If you happen to come go for Frenchman street instead of the French quarter. Although I haven't met Isobel in person she was always reachable and super flexible. I would definitely stay at her place next time as well.

    Csaba2015-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful trip to New Orleans and our house was in the perfect location to walk to all the close by clubs, restaurants and shops! The bed was comfy and the house was equipped with all that we needed! The old shotgun style was really unusual and cool. Isobel was even so kind as to leave some funky costume clothing in one of the closets for us, though we brought our own for Halloween night! Even though we did not get to meet her in person, she left all the pertinent information regarding keys, directions to neighborhoods, brochures, a/c and heater info, etc.. The house is old and looks like the work it needs is getting completed in time, but that just made it all the more charming! But like I said, it has everything you need for a great stay in NOLA. Thanks Isobel for making our trip to your lovely city even more special by not just staying there, but actually living there!

    Sharon2014-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Isobel was a great host, easy to communicate with and provided a great place to stay. It was super close to the Frenchman area and within walking distance of the French Quarter. The only complaint is that the place could've been cleaner and better kept. It wasn't that comfortable and the sheets were kinda dirty.

    Nate2015-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Isobel was quick to get back to me when needed. Upon arrival the neighborhood could look questionable. But that's New Orleans for you. She leaves good information for you in her welcome letter. Read it. Please follow her advice, don't go exploring up to/past Claiborne, and for most people, I wouldn't recommend walking to or from her place at night. Get a taxi/Uber. But that goes for the majority of the city. The neighborhood that this bnb is in isn't bad, it's "mixed." However just like almost everywhere in New Orleans, the "ghetto" is only a couple blocks away. Some people might feel uncomfortable about neighborhoods with iron bars over the windows and doors, some are going to understand it's purpose. If you are the type to see bars and automatically think you're in the ghetto, this place may not be for you. If you know that safety is more about your choices than it is about "mixed" neighborhoods and iron bars, then you will be fine here and most likely enjoy yourself. Isobel's place was great and I loved what she has done with it. It's as authentic NOLA as you can get. Which unfortunately includes certain surrounding neighborhood shortcomings. I never felt threatened, but I know the city, I know when and where not to go. A young family might feel differently. All in all, Isobel's place is great and priced right. She has everything you'll need and is a cheap taxi ride anyway from everything.

    Nick2015-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • The home was exactly as described! The directions Isobel provided were spot on. We had no issues with coming or going from the home to the Quarter (ubered), even in the late hours of the night. The beds were comfy and I would definitely stay here again!

Welcome to my victorian mini mansion . Come stay in one of the best private , lavishly decorated rooms in the historical Bywater that sleeps two ,close to the french quarter. The house and neighborhood will charm you with a stay youll never forget.
The Petite Palace was built in 1913. She has a relaxed and welcoming feel just like a southern lady should. I have been decorating and rebuilding this beauty since 2002 and it is definately unique. The 12 foot ceilings , hardwood floors, and lovely clawfoot tubs will take you back to a slower time and welcome you to the big easy.
The bywater is the artists and art college neighborhood of New Orleans . It is an area going thru big changes and regentrification is at about 70% .The people and architecture of the neighborhood are colorfull, creative, and friendly. All of New Orleans is a high crime city so please be careful wherever you go at night.
  • This was my first experience whit airbnb and it was good. I stayed whit Felina who is a great host. The room is really nice and it was also a safe neighborhood. French Quarter was very close. If you go to New Orleans I recommend one of Felina's rooms and Felina is always available for helping you out for nice food or whatever you want to know check it out!!

    Mathias2015-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Felina was a great host and made us feel very welcome. She even drove us to a nearby post office to pick up a package I had sent before our arrival. The room was exactly as pictured and very comfortable. The only problems were that this neighborhood has roosters that start crowing at 3 in the morning. If you are a light sleeper like me, that does not make for a restful vacation. I also did not like the surrounding neighborhood. I didn't feel completely unsafe, but it's not an area I would walk around in either. Because of these things, I would not stay there again.

    Kimberly2015-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in the gothic room was great. We had a quick trip to the city planned and just needed a place to rest our heads, but we were pleasantly surprised with the spaces overall (love the upstairs bathroom!) The house was a bit cluttered with some storage and a good supply of clean linens and towels, as the host was out of town, but we didn't need to access the common spaces too often so it wasn't much of a bother. Great location for ride-share users like us. I would recommend to a friend!

    Taylor2017-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place, more interesting and intriguing than if I would've stayed at a hotel for sure. And just as close to any tourist location of New Orleans that you could want. The host is a sweetheart and really cares about the quality of the stay of her guests.

    Franky2016-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Well, Felina is a real "Pro" Airbnber. We felt secure in here home and free to "make ourselves at home". This was our first Airbnb experience, so that was a good feeling. We usually eat at home in the morning to save money. There was a generous "guest shelf" in the fridge, which helped and was very nice😀. The bed and pillows were great! The linens were clean and abundant. The place is older, "lived in" and welcoming. Felina had a fam emergency that meant she had to fly out of state..... but she has a SOLID BACKUP PLAN in place, we were helped generously by a very capable friend/associate that met us within minutes of our arrival. From what we read about Felina, this was a rare accurance, EVERYONE on Airbnb and others there said she was 'best part of the stay'! So we'll just have to meet her next time.... Thanks Felina!!!

    Gordon2016-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • The place is interesting and historic, if you like this kind of style, you can choose to stay here.

    Chao Ying2017-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed 4 nights at Felina's and, as many others have said, she was a fantastic hostess with a beautiful home. As first-timers to New Orleans, she made us feel quite welcome and was only a minute away via text if we had any questions about her place or the city in general. There were also several times Felina and other guests would sit around the table with us and talk about whatever, which was incredibly homey feeling. She naturally fosters a fun, comfortable environment for conversation as well as lodgings. When I got a little sick from travel, she even graciously provided me with whatever I needed from her own medicine cabinet. That meant a lot. Our room was gorgeous and clean with thoughtful touches - a basket of treats and city brochures, a basket for dirty clothes/whatever you want, a window AC unit to cool the room to your preference, personal washcloths, hand towels, bath towels, flip flops, the list goes on. The amount of consideration is obvious. And don't get me started on the sheets and the ultrasoft throw blanket (I wanted to steal that thing)! The house is maybe a half hour walk to the French Quarter, which we did on more than one occasion. Lots of good places to eat and drink off St. Claude as well if you would rather only walk 5 or 10 minutes. The bottom line is New Orleans is an exciting city with kind people like Felina. If you want a genuine experience, don't stay at a hotel. Check her out!

Lovely apt with 14 foot ceilings and exposed plaster walls right in the middle of the French Qtr and the Garden Dist., walking distance attractions, and wonderful food and drink options within one block. Separate entrance and entire floor of 1850s brick townhouse. I own the home, and we live on the first floor of the building with our dogs. We're very thankful to you for staying with us, as your money goes back into the bldg by paying for its continuing restoration! [Listing #: 17STR-08176]
Old 1850s brick townhouse located on the edge of the Lower Garden District. The apartment is romantic, full of antiques, and has a super comfy king size bed. If you love food, you are within walking distance of some great restaurants located either uptown on Magazine Street or downtown in the Warehouse District / CBD. There is a lovely bar right next door, an awesome coffee shop right across the street and a microbrewery with half a block. You are just a 20 minute walk to the French Quarter as well. I own this house, live in the building, and do all the booking, communication and cleaning myself so I'm here to make your stay as great as possible with a a personal touch! Your stay funds the renovation of this building so thanks for considering this for your stay in New Orleans.
I love this neighborhood! It is right in the middle of city along the river, so a more low traffic spot, but with easy access to the more commercial and entertainment districts. It has its own lovely set of bars, coffee shops, and wonderful restaurants very close by though.
  • Lindsey was very helpful. The apartment is as pictured and it is huge. The location is great: I liked the neighbourhod much better than the French Quarter if you like to be a bit off the beaten track but still around all sorts of great restaurants, coffee shops, and so on, and it is a quick 15 minute walk to the main action. I always felt safe walking alone. Do not be deterred by the proximity to the freeway if you're looking at a map and haven't been, I barely noticed it was even there. It is not on a busy street but there was some noise from the street in the morning because it is an old house and by no means sound proof. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper but otherwise no issues.

    Julia2015-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay. Lindsey was easy to communicate with and provided great hospitality. The place was beautiful and had tons of character and charm. HIghly recommend staying with Lindsey.

    Kathleen2017-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • All of Lindsey's reviews are correct. Her place looks exactly like the images in her post and the location is unbeatable! My girlfriends and I stayed for 4th of July weekeend and this was so much better than any option out there. The apartment was well lit with lots of natural light and roomy plus the neighborhood was adorable (I eagerly walked to Mojo Coffee on Race Street both mornings). We never saw the trolley go by, but we could have walked to the French Quarter and we even used the public bus a couple of times since there was a stop one street over. Thanks, Lindsey for being a kind, responsive host and for the nice, soft towels. Best of luck with the renovations!

  • The place was great! It was a super cool building in a very convenient part of town. We walked everywhere! Lindsay was a great host, we had some issues with the temperature of the place and she was very gracious in accommodating us.

  • Lindsey's place is great, I loved the dilapidated style, it was perfect when staying in Nola. The bed is comfy, the shower is ok.

    Gareth2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing!! It's old French quarter style. You get the feel and authenticity of new Orleans. Lindsey is amazing and let us check in early. The place was spotless and that bed was so so so comfy. It's location is prime. Close enough to the French quarter to walk. Also you can go to the lower garden district which had the most beautiful homes ever. There's also a bomb coffee truck across the street and an awesome low key whiskey bar. It was the most perfect location. My boyfriend and I loved it and would stay again. Even though it was slightly pricey it was worth it

  • Best place I have stayed in via Airbnb! Fantastic location. Wonderful host and a truly unforgettable place. Would stay happily every and any time I am in New Orleans. Highly recommended.

  • Lindsey's home was everything we needed and more! This gem was exactly the quiet and gorgeous respite we needed at the end of a long day exploring all of the nearby neighborhoods. Lindsey was extremely helpful and kind throughout the entire process knowing that this was my first airbnb experience. The neighborhood is super quiet, with a few museums, really wonderful cafes and bars right around the corner -- Barrel Proof is LITERALLY next door! There was never a time where my friend and I felt unsafe in the neighborhood be it during the day or at night. It is certainly safe to say that should I be returning to NOLA in the near future I would absolutely contact Lindsey again.

I cannot say enough good things about Katharine. She is a beautiful person inside and out, a gracious host and extremely accommodating. Her home and personality embody what New Orleans is about; southern hospitality and charm. The home was clean, comfortable and ideally located near all of the main attractions; in a gorgeous historic neighborhood. Unless it isn't available at the time, I will be staying at one of her properties whenever I visit New Orleans.
