  • April and Ken's place was a great home base for my trip to New Orleans. It was clean and comfortable, and I loved sitting on the balcony with a book. The neighborhood was spectacular - 20 minute walk to the French Quarter, 20 minute walk to Mid City, and bus stops just a block from the apartment. I'd absolutely stay here again!

  • This cute, sweet little apartment was absolutely perfect for our weekend getaway! We were in town for the Bayou Superfest at the Superdome, this being my second time in NOLA and my husbands first time. April and Ken had an awesome “tips” sheet ready that had sooooo many suggestions for places to eat, bars. entertainment, secret spots, all kind of stuff (we tried 2 places and they were both spectacular!) Their place was very clean and stylish and we felt right at home and very safe. We got to meet Ken while we were walking back from lunch and he’s the nicest guy! Definitely would recommend this place to anyone going to visit NOLA, it’s an affordable gem!

  • Lovely little house, absolutely beautifully finished and April and ken are great hosts. This is also a really good value for money option - with bikes including you're saving around $27 per person per day in bike rentals. Seeing the city on bikes is great fun and it takes about 10 minutes to the french quarter or $7 in a cab at night. Couldn't recommend more, thanks for a great trip

  • April and Ken were very warm and accommodating. Their home was stocked with fresh sheets, blankets, towels and coffee, tea, etc. My friends and I had a lovely time staying in their guest house a few days during mardi gras. They provided a ton a great suggestions of where to eat and what to do in the city. Their home is only a few blocks from the french quarter and other great neighborhoods to explore. I would absolutely stay here again.

    Carly2014-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • April and Ken were excellent hosts. The guest house was just as pictured, clean and well stocked. April was quick to respond via email or text to our questions. We especially enjoyed meeting them both on the last night of our stay. For my husband, the only thing missing was a friendly dog to wake up to. We look forward to our next stay with them.

  • April and Ken are exceptional hosts. They have covered all the bases with hospitality. The guest house is the perfect, comfy retreat during any kind of visit to NOLA. Since ours was filled with the typical festival activities, it was such a pleasure to be able to curl up on the couch with a book and make our own food when we wanted to. The location is wonderful for exploring and a short walk to many attractions. Since it was chilly, we didn't have a chance to take a dip in the pool but I'm sure it's delightful on a hot day. We loved our experience staying with April and Ken!

    Virginia2018-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved everything about staying here. Ken and April are the greatest hosts we've ever had. They are so willing to give advice on what to do to make your trip perfect. The house is AMAZING! And I'm the perfect location. You won't regret staying here one bit.

    Jessica2016-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Super convient location near the French Quarter. I walked most days there instead of using Uber. The guest space is awesome too! Very cozy, cute, with up-to-date amenities. April and Ken also give you great tips on restaurants and bars that are local. I really enjoyed my time at their place!

This beautiful home is in a perfect location to explore the City of New Orleans. It is a hidden gem within walking distance of Frenchmen Street, the best local cafes, bars and restaurants (L'il Dizzy's, Port of Call, Cafe Du Monde), and only 2 blocks from the French Quarters. The home is perfect for those who want to be near it all yet still have an authentic New Orleans experience that is usually only available to locals.
This is a true New Orleans home...you'll enjoy all of the traditional details, like the fireplace and exposed brick.
This neighborhood is alive. It's energy is quintessential New Orleans. You won't find a bad meal or a weak drink. The locals are always friendly and quick to start a conversation.
  • Marks place is very nice, well appointed and in a great location. Out of the bustle and commotion of the French Quarter yet accessible to everything. One thing future guests should be aware of however is the noise. This apartment is exceptionally noisy. If you're looking for a quiet night's sleep, this is not the place for you. The building is old and the walls are very thin. We could hear not only the clomping shoes of the upstairs tenants but their conversations as well. Conversations on the street could be heard clearly as well. If you've ever spent any time in the French Quarter, you know a good nights sleep is essential. That was not to be found at Queen of the French Quarter.

  • Beautiful apartment, we loved it! Great location, everything walkable and easy to find. Loved the decor and the bed was super comfy :)

    Lisa2018-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Pull-out couch needs to be replaced, worst mattress I’ve ever slept on.

    Ryan2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a must stay. A few blocks from Frenchman. Didn’t need to see bourbon street but it’s close as well. One of the best things about staying here is even the neighbors make you feel welcome. Also, you’re literally right across the street from St. Augustine church. Look up the history of the importance of this place. Anyway will definitely stay again!

    Matt2018-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I loved our stay at Mark's! The house is beautiful, and it's in a great location. We could easily walk to everything in the French Quarter. Everyone in the neighborhood was friendly and welcoming. We would love to stay again!

    Kaitlin2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Overall the place was amazing! The pictures reflected exactly how the space looked even we arrived and Mark even threw on extras like a basket with typical toiletries you may forget at home. Anytime we had questions about the city or home Mark quickly responded and waa able to point us in the direction of great tourist spots as well as places frequented by locals. The neighborhood is friendly and has tons of history to it, we were even able to catch two second lines while we were there. I will definitely use this residence again for future trips.

    Crystal2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and beautiful home. The area was perfect for our needs, easy walking distance to everything!

    Joanna2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very nice and well appointed and the host was available if needed but otherwise respected our privacy.

  • 4 guys (late 20s/early 30s) stayed for 3 nights and we were all pleasantly surprised at how spacious the place was. Bigger than I anticipated after the photos, very nice and clean, plenty of amenities were provided as well as a small welcome package that started our trip off nicely. Short walk to basically everywhere we wanted to go from Canal St to Bourbon St and a short Lyft/Uber ride to Frenchmen St. and other great areas. We were unsure of the surrounding area at first, but the building is very secure and quiet and the A/C kept us cool and relaxed throughout the humid July nights (90+ degrees constantly!). I will most definitely be looking for this listing again the next time I travel to NOLA with a small group or family!

    Mike2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic visit to New Orleans. The condo was simply beautiful. It was in immaculate condition, with thoughtful items like soap for the washer left for us to use. There were seven of us for a weekend visit with plenty of space to accommodate all of us. The communication from the host was right on time for us to know where to go and how to get there. The location is fantastic. It's on a quiet street, but just a few steps away from Bourbon and Canal Street. I would definitely recommend this condo to anyone coming for a visit to New Orleans.

    Michelle2016-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very spacious apartment in a convenient location to the French Quarter. A 5 minute walk to the heart of the FQ and the St Charles cable car line. While everything is as depicted, it needs a little maintenance though the hosts were quite responsive when we had a toilet issue. Because the cable car lines are close you will hear every one of them so bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper.

    Raj2018-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We were very pleased with the apartment! Beautifully set up with large open spaces, nice bathrooms with rain showers and a perfect location to visit New Orleans. We walked everywhere. Parking was a little challenging but if you are willing to pay for a lot it is fine.. we felt safe the whole time. Go to the Hilton's restaurant around there corner for 75cent oyster happy hour along with half priced drinks. Also, very easy arrival and departure with keyless code entry so no waiting to meet up with the host. We are very happy with our choice to stay in the Airbnb

    Marita2016-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful location and convenient place for a group. Keypads to get in we're not only super convenient, but also made us feel safe since its in such a highly trafficked area. There are plenty of things to do in walking distance so we didn't enjoy the place as much as we could have. The beds were very comfortable and clean. The house was furnished with everything we needed for a week, including W/D. The owner was a bit harsh about putting a chair on the balcony to sit, but maybe he was just having a bad day. Don't make that mistake. Highly recommend you stay here if you have a group!

    Paige2017-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing. Clean and in a great location if you’re trying to party on bourbon. It was also really quiet in our quarters even tho there was a group of rowdy (and very nice) girls next door. Also a lot larger than you would think. Was amazing!! Thank you to the owners.

    Meagan2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location, very nicely presented just what we needed.

    Paul2017-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • This unit is wonderful. It is tastefully decorated and in a sensational building. We had everything we needed for our stay. We were only a 15 minute walk from Frenchmen St and there was a huge selection of restaurants close by. If you are in NOLA you can't go wrong with staying in this beautiful apartment.

  • I haven't been to many Airbnb places, but Matthew's place has been by far the best yet!! Matthew went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed! His place is so cute and he really paid attention to detail and has included so many little things like toiletries and kitchen items, like the Keurig, that really says he cares! It even has a full size washer and dryer! I loved it so much, I'm planning on a return trip!! Thank you Matthew, for EVERYTHING!!

    Rebecca2016-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Really communicative and will go out of their way to help with any questions or issues.

    Javier2018-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay. Neighborhood was very nice, able to walk to trolley car and to very nice grocery store, Robert's I think. The hosts were attentive, their place was immaculate. They provided excellent information about the area and places to go. The accommodations were perfect, very clean, and very nice little 'extra touches' that the hosts provided. I would definitely recommend.

    Sandra2018-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic studio in a great location. Matthew was a wonderful host and went to great lengths to make our short stay very comfortable (such as setting up a pack-n-play/crib and sound machine for our infant son). We loved touring the beautiful neighborhood, and enjoying wine on the patio. Will definitely be staying here again!

    Ellen2016-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nice apartment with awesome hosts. French Quarter is within a 1 1/2 hour walking distance or 10min Uber. In the apartment you will find everything you need for your stay. I personally especially enjoyed the complimentary New Orleans Beer So we can just recommend Matthew and his studio for a stay in New Orleans.

    Bastian2018-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • It was a wonderful, short time we had there. The space was so cute and very quiet, which we loved!!!

    Grace2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • We give Matt’s place an A+++! It was truly a wonderful stay. The studio looks exactly like the pictures shown on the listing and the location could not have been better. He was there to greet us as we arrived and had great amenities included in the studio like local beer and snacks! From the studio, it is an easy stroll to the St. Charles streetcar and something that I highly recommend doing while you are there. It is a breezy tour of the city and you have the luxury of jumping on and off as many times as you please. If you are pressed for time, Uber is also readily available and about a 10-15 minute drive from the studio to the French Quarter. I would gladly stay here again for our next trip to NOLA and would recommend that you do too!

    Laura2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, beautiful, calm and immaculate space in a quiet, safe neighborhood. I stayed here to visit my daughter at Tulane while my sister was staying downtown and it was very accessible to all. Unfortunately, Matthew was out of town but communicated prior to my visit, the first day and made it very clear how accessible he was as just a text away. However, the space is so well organized, I couldn't imagine any questions or concerns arising either! Will surely make this my first choice next time I return!

Guest area features private bedroom and bath with its own private entrance. Only 2 miles from the French Quarter by streetcar. Enjoy complete privacy in the guest space or visit with the hosts as you desire. Additional bedroom is available for groups traveling together or families traveling with children. Please discuss your group's needs with the host. New Orleans license number is 17STR-06526.
Private bedroom and bath in our charming shotgun house just off the Canal Streetcar line only 2 miles from the French Quarter. Guest area features private entrance, lovely patio, beautiful antique furnishings, 11-foot ceilings, petite chandelier, comfortable and clean queen bed, and cozy guest robes. Internet, cable TV, parking, oscillating fan, iron, music player, white noise machine, hairdryer, fridge, coffeepot, crockpot, and snacks are provided. The space has a peaceful, airy feel and is flooded with natural light. This listing is unique in that you have complete privacy from the main house. The guest space has its own exterior door, and you are free to come and go as you please. The garden path leading to your room features motion-activated lighting if you are returning after dark. The room is located down the garden path in the rear of the house. A second bedroom is available for groups, so the space can be made to accommodate 1-4 people. We welcome special requests and will make every effort to assist with needed recommendations. We can also provide a travel crib and other baby items if you wish to travel with your childen. We love hosting guests for honeymoons, anniversaries, and other special events. Our home is located in the historic Mid-City neighborhood, which was one of the first neighborhoods to spring back after extensive flooding due to Hurricane Katrina. Mid-City is located, as the name indicates, in the middle of New Orleans on what was once the backslope of the Mississippi River natural levee. Our home was built around 1910 and is a typical New Orleans-style shotgun house. In New Orleans at the time of construction, the shotgun house utilized a minimized lot frontage, on which taxes were based. The houses were also built without hallways and closets, which would have been counted as rooms for tax purposes. The origin of the building style and the name itself may trace back to Haitian influences on New Orleans, as many Afro-Haitian slaves lived in this area. Our house was recently featured on the HBO series "Treme", as the law office of the character Toni Bernette (played by Melissa Leo) and also as part of the interior of the home of Creighton Bernette (played by John Goodman). Guests are free to have complete privacy or to meet with the host as desired to obtain recommendations for food, drink, and attractions. Check-in is offered via a lockbox. Rates may vary during special events and holidays. Our home is located just off the parade route for Endymion, the largest parade of Mardi Gras. The festival grounds for Jazz Fest are just over 1 mile away.
Mid-City is a diverse neighborhood with its own distinctive flavor. Bars and restaurants in this area are largely patronized by locals, so the neighborhood provides an escape from the more touristy areas of the city, while still allowing easy access to the French Quarter via the Canal Streetcar Line.
  • Private room is very private (separate entry and bath) so it feels like your own place. Great location gives sense for what it's like to live in New Orleans. Host very responsive to the one question we had. Would definitely stay again!

    Al2018-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Everything in the listing was accurate, except the photo of the front of the house. This photo shows a cute house, in reality the house is completely freaking adorable. The path leading to our room was lined with vegetation and an archway, a patio in front of the door had lights hanging from the fence. This place is exactly what we needed. It's far away enough from the action that it was relaxing, quiet, & peaceful but when we wanted to go out, we could just walk down to the street car. This was our first airbnb experience so I asked Erin a lot of questions. She was helpful and has great taste. The restaurant she recommended was probably our favorite of the trip and the way the room is decorated is great. I'm happy with our choice to stay at her place. I hope she stays in business because I want to return someday.

    Angie2015-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • So cozy, clean and comfy! I just about melted when I put on the bathrobe and sunk into that bed! We loved staying here! Erin is a great host and will go out of her way to ensure you have a wonderful stay. And it is close to tons of great stuff. Be sure to do breakfast at the Ruby Slipper!

    Clair2012-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Erin's was great, the room / house was fantastic, better than a hotel. There was a great guide book in our room with choices of restaurants etc. we tried a number out and were very happy we did so.

    Sam2016-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful experience staying at her charming home. Loved the late night rides back on the Trolley. We fell in love with NOLA and it will always be in my mind. Can't wait to go back.

    Jeff2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Erin's place is the best Air BnB we have ever stayed in by far! First of all, it's even more lovely than the photos. Secondly, the listing can't convey how kind and helpful Erin is! She saw us passing by her window and took the time to let us know about a local festival so we wouldn't miss out. Her Air BnB is better than 4 Star hotels I have stayed at. It's an easy five minute or less walk to the streetcar and a cheap Uber or taxi home from the French Quarter. If you were tossing up whether or not to go to New Orleans, I would encourage you to go just so you can stay at Erin's, it's really that good. It's in a really quiet area and when we were there we felt very safe (a big deal for us since we live in a pretty conservative city and were warned by a lot of people about high crime rates in New Orleans). We had planned a few places to go out for dinner but decided to follow Erin's recommendations instead and were so glad we did - try Coop's Place. Overall it was a great experience, I don't have even the slightest negative point to make. Stay at Erin's :-)

    Kate2016-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time in this adorable historical cozy space. Everything was hotel-style clean, conveniently close to so many delicious places to eat and a quick ride to the touristy parts (French Quarter) and Magazine Street. We fell in love with New Orleans in just a couple days, our only complaint -- we couldn't stay longer!

    Savanah2016-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is such an amazing one bedroom! It is a great location, it’s clean, bright, and has a homey feel to it. Erin was a great host and she added small New Orleans touches to the room which made it that much more special! She is easy to get ahold of and this room is connected to their house so it made us feel safer knowing that they were there in case anything were to happen! You have a private entrance and very cute little patio too! We will def be coming back!!

  • Very comfortable, clean and up to date. Nice views of the city. Convenient to the French Quarter without actually being in it. Hosts were great communicators. We’d happily stay again.

    Jonathan2019-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Krystal & Mandy May's place. The apartment was VERY clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Check-in was incredibly easy. Krystal & Mandy May worked with us as our flight did not leave until 7pm the day that we checked out. They were able to hold our luggage for us in the apartment which was super nice so that we could enjoy our last day in New Orleans. They are VERY responsive. There was a light bulb out in the bedroom and they contacted maintenance ASAP. We will definitely return in the future! :)

    Brittany2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Mandy’s unit exceeded our expectations tenfold! The pictures make the place look really nice but in person is even more fancy. It was great for the two of us, the bed was huge and there was a couch bed available we had no need for it so not sure how that was, but it’s there for more sleep space opportunity. The amenities provided at your stay are another great bonus; the rooftop pool, shower product dispensers that are right in the shower at ur convenience, kitchen and supplies, Blow dryer, two working smartTVs, WiFi, the list goes on to make your stay stress free. Location was great, we were two young females and never felt unsafe walking home from bourbon st. At night which was only like a 5 min walk away. Frenchman st/ French Market was a bit further like 18-25 min walk but super scenic and didn’t mind walking at all! I can go on and on about how in love with this place I was so if you’re in search of a comfortable CLEAN place this is the place for you. The room still smelled of fresh linens the day we left, I will definitely be choosing this place if and when I visit NOLA again

Extra touches such as a shampoo/conditioner/soap dispenser in the shower, a memory foam king mattress, and a luggage rack and hangers in the closet, made our stay especially nice. Krystal & Mandy May were extremely quick to respond to any questions. The apartment building is very safe- 24/7 security and a locked entrance, and the location was perfect for walking to the French Quarter and other areas. The only downside to the location is that it is near Tulane Hospital so we heard sirens frequently during the day and in the middle of the night (but NOLA is loud in general and this is obviously no fault of the hosts, just an FYI). There were TVs in both the living room and bedroom but only antennae cable with Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. Wi-Fi was available but sometimes spotty (might be that way for the whole building). We were also able to leave our luggage at the barber shop next door so we could explore the city for a few extra hours after check-out before our flight home. Overall, the penthouse condo was beautiful and comfortable and we were extremely pleased with our stay. I would definitely recommend this listing!!

The Mazant is a plantation-style home dating back to the early 1880s, located in the heart of New Orleans' Bywater arts district - and about 1-1/2 miles from the French Quarter (30 minutes walking or 8 minutes by Uber). We are close to Bacchanal, The Joint, The Country Club, Elizabeth's, and Satsuma Cafe. It's perfect for family reunions, wedding parties, company off-sites, and other large groups.
Over the past several years we have renovated the property, seeking to preserve historic details including 13' ceilings with plaster medallions, heart pine wood floors, cypress doors, and a 125+ year old oak tree. At the same time, we also updated the layout to more comfortably accommodate large groups: *18-person dining room table *Oversized living room with 75-inch television, surround sound system, and Baldwin upright piano *Private yard (1/3 acre) with fire pit, six-burner propane BBQ, outdoor table, and hammocks *Super-fast WiFi (the top tier that Cox offers) *Front porch (gallery) with historic gas lamps and outdoor seating *Off-street parking for two cars and ample street parking for overflow *Viking kitchen appliances  The house has eight bedrooms with layout as follows: Downstairs - Bedroom 1: one queen bed (semi-private bathroom - shower) - Bedroom 2: one queen bed (ensuite bathroom - shower) Upstairs - Bedroom 3: one queen bed (ensuite bathroom - shower/tub combo) - Bedroom 4: one double bed - Bedroom 5: one twin bunkbed - Bedroom 6: one king bed - Bedroom 7: two queen beds (semi-private bathroom - shower) and pull out sofa bed (double) - Bedroom 8: one king bed There is another shared bathroom upstairs (near the laundry room) with a clawfoot tub-shower combo. The caretaker’s cottage is occasionally available for rent as an add-on. It is 350-square feet, has a queen bed, full bath with claw foot tub-shower combo, kitchen, and washer/dryer.
Just down river (east) from the French Quarter - stretching from Press Street to the Industrial Canal - is the Bywater, where the mood and pace shift as you enter into the heart of an edgier yet still welcoming neighborhood. The St. Claude Arts District, centered around St. Claude Avenue, is home to more than thirty locations exhibiting visual and performance art, along with an array of artisan crafts. Down Piety Street, the fun continues with restaurants, thrift stores and more galleries. Even the homes, cafes and restaurants seem to capture Bywater's eclectic appreciation for the arts. Spend the afternoon at Crescent Park for some impressive views of downtown New Orleans and the Mississippi River. Afterward, you can thrift your way through the neighborhood before stopping in at an exhibition and finally making your way to dinner. The area's restaurants are among the most innovative in the city and are great places to sit with a cocktail and chat with locals. Above all, the Marigny and Bywater neighborhoods illustrate the relationship between the New Orleans arts scene and local life. So whether you're looking for the New Orleans of old, or if you want see where New Orleans culture is headed for the future, the Faubourg Marigny and Bywater will offer you glimpses in either direction.
  • The house was even more beautiful than the pictures! It was very clean and the host was quick to respond to any questions. I would highly recommend!

  • The Mazant is spectacular. The pictures on the website look great, but they don't do it justice. The house is even bigger and more beautiful inside than the pictures show. I had my wedding at the Mazant and also rented the house for a few days around the ceremony for a family vacation. We easily fit 15 people in the house and cottage, and still had an extra bedroom. There was so much space, you often had to look around to find someone. It was a great wedding venue. There was rain leading up to the big day and we were having an outdoor wedding. I was worried that the lawn would be soggy and we might not fit in the house, but neither was an issue. The first time I walked in the doors, all my worries vanished. The house easily fit the whole wedding party of 50 people and the grounds are designed to drain really well, and so the lawn was great, despite days of rain. The place just had a good feel to it. It was comfortable, but beautiful and made for a fun time and beautiful photographs. The owners were also really great about sharing local places to go and things to see. There are some great restaurants in walking distance. It was a perfect rental.

  • Loved it!!

    Shan2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. This place was perfect for our 15 lady bachelorette destination weekend. From the moment you arrive, you're going to be impressed; and you might think that that feeling would subside after walking through the house 3 times with your mouth hanging open, but it won't--you will be impressed from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. The house is stately, beautifully renovated with thoughtful decor, and has so many things to offer. We thoroughly enjoyed: the upstairs porch (yoga in the morning with local coffee made in the keep-15-people-easily-caffeinated Bunn coffee maker!); the firepit, grill and outdoor table (post-FQ s'mores, afternoon naps on the lawn, morning breakfasts in the sunshine); the formal dining room for our special last night feast; the hand soap (I'm not kidding, at least 4 girls have already purchased it online); the well equipped kitchen and bedrooms (real beds in beautiful rooms for everyone), and the abundance of bathrooms (I don't think I waited for a shower once all weekend). We also enjoyed the surround sound, easy temp control, and quietness of being just far enough from the quarter, but close enough to enjoy a walk along the river to the French Market (and streetcar stop). Jeff was very responsive to my questions before we arrived and provided great recommendations for the neighborhood--I'd say he went above and beyond to help make our stay feel special (I'll leave you to discover some of those surprises yourself--just delightful!). Jeff, and Kevin (the house manager) were also very accommodating in regards to check in and check out, which made my life so much easier (coordinating arrivals and departures for 15 people!). I can't wait to plan another trip, in part just to stay in this beautiful home again.

  • Gorgeous place inside and out; super clean, super big, but also nicely detailed. Really lovely stay and Jeff was very helpful. All the beds are really comfortable. I'd love to stay here again!

  • It was our first time using Airbnb. Our place was clean and and convenient to getting around everywhere. We spent little time in the house but slept very well. Not fond of sharing a bathroom with so many people but that's a small price to pay for great accommodations. Hollis has a beautiful home.

    Cynthia2016-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Hollis was the perfect host! I'd never used Airbnb before so I was a little nervous. He immediately welcomed us and showed us around the house. It was beautiful! Everything was clean and smelled nice. He really made us feel at home. Very affordable too. If ever I need a place in New Orleans I know exactly where I'm staying.

  • Hollis is an exceptional host, he made me and my friend welcome in his house and to his family. He invited us to his new years party with his friends and family- which was amazing. Fun people and good food!

  • Great location, lovely hosts and an excellent leaflet full of local info.

  • Place was great! Free bikes were a life saver.

  • Andrew was gone, but Amanda was there and she was nice. Andrew did leave a pamphlet that gave a lot of great recommendations on what's good around new orleans and not just touristy stuff. I got a great feel for New Orleans and simply his recommendations were sufficient and helped me get to know different areas.

    Theodore2014-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew was a perfect remote host! The manual of New Orleans he created for the guests was full of an insider insights and observations of the city. I wish I could check them all out but I only had one night in the savage and beautiful city! He was also so prompt in getting back to me for my instant booking. I served the room few hours before I arrive.

    Ava2015-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • My stay was great. The host wasn't around, but an entry procedure was clearly outlined and everything was it was promised. The only warning I'll issue to other travelers is that you not only share the space with a very polite housemate, but with another AirBnB listing as well. During my stay, the additional AirBnB guest was not exactly following the "be respectful of the other tenants" policy when it came to noise, and my sleep was disturbed at an unfortunate hour. Obviously this was not my host's fault, but this is one aspect of Le Peach Parlor that is a bit unpredictable. However, if you need two bedrooms in the same unit, it seems this property would be ideal.

    Marc2015-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for letting me stay- place wasn't hard to find at all, felt really safe and comforted- I would totally stay here again next time I'm in town - trey

  • beautiful & cozy little space!!

  • Coco and Andrew's creative homebase was perfect for my three-day stay in NOLA. The self-serve process to check in is quick and easy, making for a relaxing first day in town. (Travel Tip: take the e2 bus from the airport to downtown, then hop on bus 91 to get within 4 blocks of the house for just $3.25 in fares.) The interior of Coco's home is magical, furnished and decorated with a mix of vintage treasures and original art. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful by day and night (perfect for sleeping in and/or working at home), and friendly neighbors were happy to chat about the area with me when I passed by. An easy two-mile bike ride took me from the house to all of the Bywater/Marigny/French Quarter destinations I'd come to see. (Biking tip: most residential roads in NOLA are more cratered than the surface of the moon-- I found that the safest and smoothest biking path to/from the waterfront was to take Esplanade to either Burgundy or Royal; all seemed to be designated bike roads and friendly to cyclists.) I'd recommend this sweet spot as deal for any single or couple who are comfortable borrowing and riding the house's serviceable bikes, and who are looking for a creative oasis away from the typical commercial districts.

Come relax in a large master bedroom with your own private bath. Enjoy garage parking, a pool, and a swanky bar area in the home. Quiet & safe neighborhood away from the hub, yet is only a fifteen minute drive to the main city. $10-$12 Uber to the French Quarter. FYI: the city’s public transportation is mediocre. License Number: 17STR-21936
Enjoy your own huge private master bedroom and bathroom. Shared space for the kitchen, den/bar area, pool, and laundry room, all of which you are welcome to use!
The house is just outside the heart of the city, but there are great historic old bars nearby. Theres a great New Orleans restaurant DiMartinos, a Winn Dixie, and a bus stop that goes into the city within walking distance. There's also a mediocre Mexican restaurant within walking distance, big portions and decent food. Also $2.99 margaritas during happy hour woo woo!!
  • Julie's place was amazing. The location was easy to find and only a 10-15 min drive to New Orleans, Bourbon Street and everything else! The room came with all the little amenities you would need. My boyfriend and I really liked the extra perk of being able to park in her garage. She was very responsive to all our questions and comments. I would def recommend this place for singles or couples as it suites both. Definitely will try to book here again next time we are in town!

    Casey2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's place was everything and more! When we arrived, she was waiting outside to greet us and let us use her garage. The showed us around her adorable home and in our room (since we had just gotten married) she had a bottle of champagne! Seriously how cute and sweet is that?!?! The location itself was about a $10-$15 uber ride from everything downtown has to offer which was great for getting wild and going back to some peace and quiet. The room was absolutely huge and the bed was extra comfy. It was like having our own little studio apartment. All around this was a great experience and next time we visit we'd hope to stay with Julie again and so should anyone else visiting NOLA!!! Thanks Julie!!!

    Sarah2017-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend Julie's airbnb! The room was very spacious, and the bed was so comfy! I had such a peaceful rest here. Julie was super quick to answer questions and was incredibly helpful in making sure my stay was excellent. Julie's home would be my first choice the next time I need a place to stay in New Orleans!

    Lan2017-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Julie’s place is perfect. In a very quiet neighborhood, close to a plaza with all kind of stores. Sparkling clean. The whole family is very kind and ready to answer questions or help. Our stay was very pleasant. Thank you for everything!

  • The house was located in a good area that was very close to downtown New Orleans. The room itself was very big and clean, and Julie even provided a spot to park inside her garage. Julie was very helpful and flexible. We would definitely recommend staying at her house!

    Emily2017-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Julie is an extremely friendly and easy-going host. The place was a really comfortable, large room next to a private pool which we didn't use (shame). Would definitely recommend.

    Eric2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Julie is such a great host and the space was so lovely. It's in a beautiful area a quick 10 min drive from downtown. Public transit is also very nearby and a quick walk to get to. It was so awesome waking up every morning and having coffee next to the pool. I couldn't recommend staying here enough!

    Shea2017-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Julie‘s. We loved the spacious room, the comfy bed and parking in the garage. Julie was a great host, she even provided us with a self-made local guide to Algiers and New Orleans.

Semi-private room* in a cute and cozy shotgun house in the Marigny. 15 minute walk to the French Quarter, 12 minutes to Frenchmen St., 2 minutes to the Bywater. Located around the corner from a few restaurants, bars, a coffee shop, and grocery store. *Note, this room is yours and yours alone, but people have to walk through it to get to their room.
The house is a classic shotgun, a very common style of architecture for homes here in New Orleans. Our bedroom is the first room in the house, and we rent the next three rooms to guests (see our profile for links to the other rooms). Each room is arranged one behind the other. You will be walking through all of our bedrooms to get to your room, and while you'll have your room to yourself, people will need to walk below your loft to access the kitchen, other bedrooms, backyard, and bathroom. Both doorways have doors which you can close for more privacy. Please look through our photos to see the "blueprints" of our house, this will give you an idea to how it's laid out. Your room is the fourth room in the house, next to the kitchen. It comes furnished with a full size bed, bright lamp for reading, Christmas lights, fresh sheets, clean blankets, pillows, and towels - and it's on a loft! To get up to the bed you will need to climb a ladder up 7 feet to the loft. The height in the loft is around 4 1/2 feet, meaning most people won’t be able to stand, but it’s still fairly easy to get around in for any able-bodied person. Below the loft is a hangout room, where you are more than welcome to hangout and stretch your legs all you want.
Our location is probably our greatest feature. Our house is centrally located in the Marigny. Frenchmen St. jazz and music clubs are only six blocks away, the French Quarter is a ten minute, nine-block walk away in one direction, and the Bywater (neighborhood) is just over the train tracks, two blocks in the other direction. We are one block from Mardi Gras Zone, a 24 hour organic grocery store (now with an alcohol license!), and three blocks from Hank's, a 24 hour convenience store (where you can stock up on alcohol and fried chicken). Flora's Coffee shop is two blocks away. There are eight bars (ranging from fancy cocktail bars to dive bars) within a three block radius.
  • Easy. These guys were great. Very friendly and available and communicative.

    Stephanie2016-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great and I had the most enjoyable vacation at Katie's & Matthij's place ! They weren't there but their friend Mikey was and took great care of the guests and the house. The house is pretty and well put together, in a very convenient and cool neighborhood - closed to bars/restaurants and 10min walking from the touristy french quarter so location is def the added value here. Apart from the first room, it is an Airbnb house meaning that the 3 other rooms are rented out all the time and it is a shot gun/loft space so you will have to hear/meet/go thru people spaces but it is a great way to actually meet nice people when you travel on your own and everybody is so independent and respectful that privacy was never an issue + the experience of living in an actual shot gun house in the heart of a very cool neighborhood is one to have :) They do have 2 energetic dogs who are not very friendly at first and will bark whenever someone comes in and out but they won't do anything more and they do sleep at night ;) Though the house is really cool, it is an old one and Louisiana having the weather it has, it can get pretty humid and hot - AC and ventilation are available, tho not reaching out that much up on the loft where I was. Humidity can cause some stagnant air in the kitchen and first room for lack of ventilation but not in the Airbnb rooms. I wouldn't advice to hang out in the backyard cause mosquitos are vicious there and it can be dog marked territory. That's all just little things and I would def recommend and come back to this place !

    Sarah2017-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Katie & Matthijs were friendly and welcoming, despite moving soon. Loft space provides what it needs to, and the fan helps. Great dogs add to the experience.

  • Katie and Matthijs are really cool people. They let us check in early and let us go with them to our first ever Mardi Gras parade. The loft is as pictured. We were able to get street parking right in front and we had a great stay here.

Flora's Coffee shop is two blocks away. There are eight bars (ranging from fancy cocktail bars to dive bars) within a three block radius.
  • The space is as described. Comfortable and great value. Very hospitable hosts

  • Katie and Matthijs were GREAT hosts. Their house is located on a quiet block, and it was a short walk to Frenchmen St, where I hung out most of the time. I would definitely stay with Katie and Matthijs again.

    Tom2017-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • AMAZING. Katie and Matthijs are incredible hosts/people. They're so fun and kind and welcoming and informative and just really cool people to spend some time with! Their house is SO CUTE and SO COZY and I instantly felt at home. They really want their guests to have a great time, and they have SUCH good information to give. And a helpful lil (Hidden by Airbnb) doc to help you get around and explore! I stayed with them for two nights only, and they were incredible. 100% would recommend. Truly just great people in an amazing city.

    Kevin2015-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Katie and Matthijs were both so great during my stay in New Orleans. Public shoutout for Katie delivering me Advil and water after a really rough night on Bourbon Street and Matthijs making sure I got in the house okay (seriously, that meant so much to me - they are both great people). 10 minute walk from the French Quarter and it is a quaint cool little neighborhood. If you need any advice on where to go for food or other questions, they have the answers for you. I will definitely consider staying here again if I'm New Orleans! Thanks for a great birthday stay, guys

    Luke2017-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice, comfy room. Hosts are friendly and accommodating. I definitely stay here again!

  • Katie and Matthijs are super nice and accommodating. They really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and safe in New Orleans. They keep the house very clean. It is nice to fall asleep on freshly laundered sheets! The bed with canopy provides privacy and gives a cozy atmosphere! I would definitely recommend anyone to stay there! I look forward to staying there on my next trip to New Orleans!

    Rochelle2016-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome host. Communicated early about nearby places and gave good suggestions. The place is well maintained. Walkable distance to French Quarter. I would recommend anyone traveling to New Orleans to stay here.

  • Katie & Matthijs were great hosts and made us feel at home. They were super helpful, gave us great advice about local spots to see and tips only locals would know about. Room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated -- no complaints. Overall, highly recommended!

Also close to Frenchman Street which is the best street for enjoying the local jazz scene of New Orleans as well as St. Claude Ave which is an up and coming street with art galleries/bars and vaudeville/circus nexus of the city. New Orleans is a walkable city and we also have the Street Car service which runs from Canal Street to Uptown/Garden District from the Quarter.
We live in the Musician and Artists neighborhood of New Orleans. Bohemia at its finest!
  • Nick and Lindsay's home was very close (walking distance) to the French Quarter and fun bars/shops on Frenchman street. The rooms were nice and it was great that each person (2 people) had a private room to themselves. We enjoyed our stay and really enjoyed the convenience of the home's location.

    Ashley2016-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great house, great hosts! Lots of cool character. Close to everything - within walking distance of cool restaurants and shops.

    Alexandra Lyn2014-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nick and Lindsay have a nice, laid back home in a hipster area east of the Quarter. I was only there briefly and unfortunately did not get to meet Nick. However Lindsay met me upon arrival, all smiles and friendly, showed me around and gave me my key. I had the upstairs to myself and used the living room one night to catch up on emails. The location is great: about 15 minutes walk to the Quarter and just around the block from a 24 hour small grocery store. For a really chilled-out and relaxed stay I would recommend this home.

    Jim2015-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Nick and Lindsay were really friendly and wonderful. They have a beautiful, comfortable and clean home with excellent rooms and amenities. The neighborhood is fantastic with some really fun local places and other great neighborhoods of Bywater and the French Quarter are a 10-15 minute walk away. My girl friend and I absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend staying with them!

    Mohit2016-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely home not so far away from the French Quarter. I had a brief, but nice stay in the house. Nick & Lindsay were very communicative when I expressed some concerns about the location and it all worked out in the end. Thanks for hosting me!

    Zanetta2014-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nick and Lindsay were fabulous hosts! In addition to being very accommodating in terms of check-in time, they were extremely hospitable (allowing us to set-up an entire music studio worth of percussion and music equipment to rehearse in their lovely home), and we felt very comfortable with our bedrooms and the overall space that the house provided. The location was also very ideal, as it was accessible to many great restaurants and bars, and parking was always available. As first time Airbnb-ers, we were delighted to find such a great home to stay in AND to have lucked out with extremely flexible (and awesome) hosts. Thank you, Nick and Lindsay! We hope to return again soon! =)

    Kristin2013-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Eclectic is the best way to describe Nick and Lindsay, they were very helpful in finding neat restaurants and pubs within walking distance. Easy going and relaxed . The only thing to keep in mind; a nearby train constantly blows it horn in the middle of the night so bring your ear plugs if you are a light sleeper or stay up and party

    Jan2014-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint house in the Marigny district. Nick and Lindsay weren't around, but their in-laws let us in and showed us around. The house is in good condition and lots of great things in walking distance. Having coffee and tea in the morning was great, although I wouldn't really say they provide breakfast. I would have liked if there were more amenities like soap left in the bathrooms, and there definitely is a train nearby if you're a light sleeper, but overall we enjoyed our brief stay.

A pleasant 15 minute ferry ride will put you within walking distance of the French Quarter, Riverwalk and riverboats, central business district, warehouse/arts district, Harrah's Casino, the convention center, the WWII Museum, and more!
Canopy oaks! One of the safest neighborhoods in New Orleans, per city crime statistics. Violent crime is very rare, and petty property crime is infrequent.
  • We had a wonderful time. Dale is a very pleasant man. He gave us useful information and pointed us in the right direction.

    Angie2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Dale is very nice and can help you for everything

    Sam2018-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • I was out exploring during most of my trip but when I was at my Airbnb Dale made me feel welcomed and checked in to make sure I was comfortable. He was very pleasant and courteous. Thanks for being a great host!

    Dayanara2018-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing value. Dale is a pleasant, but unintrusive, host, and his house, courtyard, and animals are charming. He lives on the premises, so everything is fully stocked, including a full kitchen (we saved money by bringing instant coffee and oatmeal for breakfast, and it was easy to make them in his space). Your room is truly private, and the only times you will see Dale is if you spend time downstairs after he gets back from work. While the place is quite far from NOLA's attractions, it is well connected by bus - there are multiple bus lines that stop within a 10 minute walk of Dale's house, and the GoMobile app will give you sufficient heads up when one's nearby that you won't be waiting outside in the heat. For context, my partner and I took the bus to MSY at the end of our stay and the experience was quite painless, and only involved a 5 minute walk with our suitcases. Dale's neighborhood is beautiful and peaceful (although the sidewalks and roads are in poor repair). I felt quite safe walking to and from the bus, even in the dark.

    Amalie2018-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Dale leaves you alone. I actually love that about him. I needed a place to crash while I went to see the Saints game. Dale was always available anytime I needed to reach out to him. He's a very sweet man. I definitely plan to stay with him again when I'm in New Orleans.

    Emily2018-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Dale's place is great! Itsa little far out from where I was at in the French Quarter, but well worth it for the price and hospitality!

Located on the grand promenade of historic Treme, fully equipped: coffeemaker, mini refrigerator, microwave, TVcable, wifi, 2 full beds, 1 futon sofa bed (4-6 guests no extra charge), and kitchenette. 1.4 miles, 25min/walk to French quarter, 5 min. Whole food market, Willie Maes Restaurant, and close to the system of transportation.
There is a room to park in front of 2636 Saint Ann, on the street next to the orange cone, (one side of a duplex house) or you could park cross street if there is not much traffic.
The neighborhood is safe, but still, it is in process of recovering since hurricane Katrina.
  • The house was great although lacking some basic amenities on arrival - no coffee or anything else which was a bit tough on a late night arrival. Fernando did apologise and this may have been down to previous guests although it is something that should have been checked beforehand. He happily provided us with a bread knife and glasses as soon as we asked for them though. The 'kitchen' is extremely basic - fridge, coffee maker and refrigerator. Apart from that it was an easy walk into the French Quarter although we generally caught an uber back in the evenings. The beds were all comfortable but with extremely noisy bases for some reason! We also removed the plastic undersheets which were not good to have given the climate. The area is a bit run down but everyone was friendly and it did not feel at all risky - I'm 60 and was staying with my sister and daughter. Check in and out as well as communication was excellent. Buses and trolleys were easy to catch and the nearby Whole Foods a great place to go to for groceries. Accommodation in New Orleans is expensive and this was good value for money.

  • Great size to fit5 women, friendly neighbors and close to bourbon. Great value

  • When visiting New Orleans this is a fine place to stay. Note: the kitchen only has a micro and coffee machine So you have to eat outside, but hé, you are in NOLA So plenty of restaurants! Fernando is a very Nice Guy

    Mirjam2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Fernando is awesome. This is the perfect location for the French Quarter or any other areas you'd like to visit via uber in New Orleans. It comfortably fits 3 guests: 2 beds downstairs and one upstairs. Bonus: Willie Mae's Scotch House is within walking distance! #seefoodeatfood

    Odell2016-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place to stay. I didn't meet Fernando but I had all the information to find the appartment and to open the door easely. The room is confortable. The neighborhood is ok. I appraciated the streetcar to go downtown at 10 minutes by foot.

    Delafontaine2016-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I enjoyed staying here! The studio was very nice and clean and about a 10 min drive to the French Quarter. The curtains are fairly light so if you're easily woken up by sunlight, that's something to keep in mind. The studio is also a 5 min walk away from Willie Mae's Scotch House with the BEST fried chicken in NOLA. The host, Fernando, was friendly but a bit difficult to get ahold of through text if you have any issues or questions. Overall a good place to stay if you don't want to pay for the pricey hotels in the French Quarter.

    Della2017-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fernando has a lovely unit in a cozy neighborhood. Quick walk to food, grocery, bus stops etc. And only a $6-$10 uber to the French Quarter. Highly recommended

A Newly renovated room which shares a bathroom with our #2 Room, the room has a standard double bed as well as a small refrigerator, a Table & Chairs, and Ductless Air Conditioning among other amenities. A complimentary Breakfast including fresh brewed coffee, cereal, toast and fruit is also available to guests, as is free use of our Bicycles. NOLA STR permit# 18STR-06203
This listing is for our 3rd bedroom. It has a shared bathroom. See our other listings #1 or #4 for a private en-suite. The room does use a shared bathroom, but as most of our guests are focused on exploring the town, this is rarely more than an inconvenience. If you would prefer a room with a private bathroom, we would like to recommend our other listings in our house Creole Cottage in historic Treme #1 and #4. The Cottage started life as a two family home shortly before the American Civil war and has been added to a number of times over the years, unfortunately the specifics of its history are difficult to pin down (although we can make some educated guesses). It's a 20 minute walk(15 minute power walk!) to the French Quarter under those gorgeous 200 year old Oaks, surrounded by gorgeous 200 year old houses, on the former streetcar line. We have four beautiful rescued cats. Miss Doris Day from the Bronx and a few locals, Minnie Mouse, Rocky Raccoon, and Prince Harry. Rick born on NYC and grew up on Long Island, and when he was 17 I moved to New Zealand with my parents and two sisters. He studied at Auckland University and Graduated with a Degree in Architecture, one of the highlights was designing his brothers’ holiday home on Waiheke Island NZ. He's renovated houses in NZ, San Francisco, and now New Orleans. I started playing Trumpet in elementary school and never stopped, I play regularly around New Orleans & Auckland NZ. I moved to New Orleans in 2010 with my wife Liz and we love it! Since then I’ve been working on our house and playing with various bands around New Orleans including my own group the Rick Roff Trio. Avery Moved here from New Zealand in 2013 to help on the renovation, he’s a Jack of all trades with a background in technology but he spends his downtime creating industrial lighting and has personally either created or restored most of the lighting in the house. His other Artistic projects include leatherwork (specialising in costume armor) and the occasional piece of furniture. He sells publicly through Secondline Arts & Antiques in the French Quarter, but if you see something you like feel free to ask him if it’s available or whether you can commission something similar. As of late November Rick and Liz are currently taking an extended break from Airbnb to spend time with Ricks elderly mother in New Zealand while Avery runs things here in New Orleans
Historic Treme, Esplanade Ridge, Lower 7th Ward, our neighborhood gets called different names by different people. Historically our neighborhood was part of the Creole side of town (as opposed to the “American” side) and just a stones’ throw from Esplanade Avenue and it’s centuries old Oak trees. Most of the houses in our area predate the Civil war (Creole Cottages and Shotguns) although there are a few places that are more modern (or have been “modernized”) which gives the neighborhood a sense of age that’s impossible to replicate. While it’s true that there are still a number of houses in the area that are currently unoccupied, that number is gradually dwindling and is mostly an aftereffect of Hurricane Katrina. The area is also dotted with small restaurants and Cafes, perfect if you’re looking to get away from the Crowds. Logistically, we’re centrally located and convenient to the French Quarter but not close enough to feel trapped by it while Esplanade Ave forms a direct (and safe) pathway that’s well-traveled day and night. Alternately you can follow Esplanade away from the French Quarter and explore New Orleans City Park (Designed by the same person as Central Park NYC and 50% larger). City Park is a great place to visit, not only for its landscaped scenery but also because it hosts the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) as well as its free attached sculpture garden. Safety is a major concern for many of our guests as New Orleans doesn’t have the best reputation in that regard; we can honestly say that our neighborhood is quite safe, we’re less than a block from a main road (Esplanade) that’s well lit and well-traveled at all times of the day and night. If you aren’t comfortable with walking back to our place, Uber or Lyft usually run less than $10, although frankly, the French Quarter is the most dangerous place most tourists are likely to visit, even then, incidents involving our guests are incredibly rare.
  • We stayed with Rick and Liz for a week in the front room on the first floor. The house is under on-going renovation but that doesn't take away from the charm of the place. There is a lot of foot traffic going in and out of the house and we made a lot of friends! The walk to the french quarter is not very far, the breakfast is fabulous and we had a great time! Liz, Rick, Avery, and Sgt Pepper are all such amazingly sweet people (/dog) and we would love to stay with them again! The bed is very comfortable!

    Jennifer2014-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I were in New Orleans for the weekend. Rick and Liz were fantastic hosts. We felt very welcome in their home. Their pets made us feel right at home as well. The room is clean and cozy with a great bed.

    Thomas2014-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • The use of the smoothly running cruiser bicycles allowed us to see New Orleans in ways we never would have, meeting locals and enjoying interesting sites and good food (some highlights: City Park, Swan River Yoga, Bachanal restaurant). From Rick and Liz's location we could explore the many neighborhoods. The bed was restful. Appreciated the flowers in the room. We felt very welcome. It was nice to have animal friends around!

    Alexa2014-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our hosts were very welcoming, hospitable, and pleasant. The listing description was on point; I really enjoyed the house and the historic neighborhood. My boyfriend and I walked to the French Quarter before nightfall and felt safe, but ended up cabbing back later that night just in case. The bikes provided were in good shape, one even has a basket, the only problem was that I was too short to reach the ground :). Overall, we both really enjoyed our stay with Rick and Liz and upon returning to Nola, we would definitely stay with them again.

    Andrea2014-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Rick and Liz were fantastic hosts, friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay in New Orleans and hope to be back soon!

    Keane2016-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • It was my first time experience with Airbnb and I am so glad of my choice to stay in "Creole Cottage...." Rick and Liz are excellent hosts and just amazing people full of positive energy and caring. I was able to learn a lot from Rick and I was happy to follow his recommendations for New Orleans must see places. New Orleans is flat and a bicycle ride was an amazing opportunity to explore places. The bicycles are free for guests that is a great deal! It happened to me to forget a camera in the house and Liz and Rick helped me to have it back. I am so grateful for all and without any doubt I give my honest recommendation! You won't be disappointed!

    Artur2013-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, beautiful house and absolutely lovely hosts!

    Liam2016-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • My roadtrip buddy and I were in a motel two hours from NO, three or four beers in we realised that we hadn't booked anywhere to stay. Immediately I began frantically googling possibilities and Rick and Liz' place in Treme happened to be the first and lowest cost that I found. So I signed up to AirBnB and booked the room. This last minute job could have been something to regret, instead it was pretty much exactly what we were hoping for and didn't know it. Rick greeted us warmly when we arrived, making tea and showing us around. He loaned us his bicycles and introduced us to his other guests, both of whom were lovely. Meeting Liz later, the introductions were complete and I realised that it felt almost like they had INVITED us to stay, so welcoming and at ease with us they were. I cannot leave enough praise, they are relaxe, warm, generous and very interesting people. Highly highly recommend.

  • This place is a little on the small side, but it's perfect for two for a weekend! My best friend and I enjoyed having waters and free coffee in the room. The mattress was extremely comfortable! There's a floor AC unit and a dehumidifier so if a little ambient noise at night bothers you, you may want to look somewhere else. The owner is quite attentive even when you blow the breaker while running 2 blow driers at once. Loved our stay with Leonor!

    Stephanie2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and clean space. Not very convenient to the happenings of New Orleans. I would not recommend if you don’t have a car. There was AC unit in the room which was a life saver, but bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper

    Erin2018-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptional host. My sister and I checked in past the time we intended due to unexpected delays at the airport. Even at a late hour, Leonor and Brandon were incredibly understanding and so helpful. We were incredible grateful for the care considering we were from out of state and our first time in New Orleans. The place was simply adorable with a great deal of privacy. If only we had more time, we would have stayed a few nights here. Definitely a great place!

    Abel2018-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Brandon’s place. It was easy to find with his directions. Self check in was very easy. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I liked having our own private area and parking space. There was a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, hot plate, and mini fridge. There was bottled water and coffee supplies available. The neighborhood was very quiet and had bus stops within walking distance, which we used almost daily.

The Marigny is an eclectic and bohemian musicians and artists community just outside the French Quarter. This is a safe and walkable neighborhood with lots of unusual bars, thrift stores, music, dining, and coffee shops in the area that the locals enjoy.
The Marigny is an eclectic, safe and bohemian neighborhood within walking distance of the French Quarter. A lot of artists, musicians, and performers in town live in the area and help to maintain a charm that is uniquely New Orleans.
  • Nick and Lindsay are very warm and gracious hosts! They gave us great advice on places to go while we were there, most of which were new to me, even though I've been in The Quarter numerous times. The room was clean and charming, with lots of space and the private bath was quite unique. The location is a short walk to everything. The neighborhood is safe and quiet, with small restaurants, coffee shops, and bars peppered throughout. This is my first airbnb experience, and Nick and Lindsay made it my best traveling experience to date! They made us feel like we were old friends staying in their home, and can't wait to return to NO and stay with them again!

  • Our short stay with Nick & Lindsay was great. Their place is awesome, the room was big and spacious. It is in a good location, within a short walking distance to the French Quarter and many bars and restaurants.

    Maxine2016-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nick and Lindsay have a wonderful and well-kept place, and they are extremely kind and hospitable. They picked us up at the airport when we arrived for a very reasonable price, and were always quick to respond to our contacts/questions prior to and during our trip. The room was very tidy and clean with pretty much everything ready for us (bedding, essentials such as towels, shampoo, conditioner, bath gel in the bathroom). Thank you for having us!

  • Great place, easily walkable to Frenchman st and public transportation. Nick and Lindsay are great! They were quick to get back to us any time we texted the and they're Very accommodating, they had a lot of great recommendations for local restaurants and bars that were great.

    Levi And Callee2017-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we arrived we knew we had picked the right place to stay. Nick & Lindsay's place is just a short walk to the French Quarter but the Marigny neighborhood has its own old world charm and in many ways is kind of a hidden little gem. The room was clean and offered everything any hotel room has to offer. The rest of the house is very comfortable and decorated with the flair of the town Nick & Lindsay themselves are a great couple and were very helpful with answering any questions we may have had. But I would suggest just doing your own exploring as you really never know what you are going to find around the next corner in this area of town. What I really enjoyed about this stay is you got to get the feeling of how real people live in New Orleans....... Nick & Lindsay "nailed it" in making us feel right at home in their little sideshow sanctuary

    Scott2016-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is what Airbnb is all about...a great place to stay at a good price with interesting people! Nick and Lindsay have a beautiful home with a comfortable private room and bathroom. The neighborhood is convenient to the French Quarter but is also in a very cool part of town, right between the hip Marigny and Bywater neighborhoods. I stayed for 3 nights while in New Orleans for a wedding and had a great time. Nick ties a mean bow tie as well!

Less than a half mile to beautiful city park, two & a half mile to historical French Quarter. Grocery store, Chinese restaurant, and other shopping options a few blocks away.
Quaint place, I try to keep it tidy as possible A shopping center down the street, easy 5-minute walk & a bus stop around the corner.
Built cira 1983, this quaint neighborhood is full of flavor, character, friendly neighbors, & easy access to many conveniences. Being right in-between the river, lake & near city park this location offers a great opportunity to explore an array of options of hidden jems often over looked by many who limit their selves to the usual tourist hots spots of the French Quarter, Bywater, or uptown area. Regarding safety, crime maps & statistics have shown this is area to has significantly less crime than the French Quarter ,Bywater, & Uptown areas. All except for a few occasional neighborhood holiday parties, this is one of the quietest neighborhood & I have never had any problems otherwise.
  • Super comfy bed. This is probably the best aspect of the room. Central air, clean, must take a cab home ar night. $15 from french quarter. Overall it was exactly what we were looking for, affordable, not too far away, the bus runs very close to the apartment, however nola p.t. is not the best. We spent quite a bit of time commuting. But hey, at least the bus has a/c! Thanks for the pleasant stay Jonathan!

    Elisabeth2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation 115 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • Jonathan was great to stay with - very friendly and accommodating. His place and the upstairs room that we stayed in had a lot of character - lots of cool animal paintings and decorations. His place also had convenient parking spots right across the street, and was a ~10 minute drive from French Quarter and Bourbon street. He was also gracious enough to offer us bikes, which we used all of one of the days we were there to visit French quarter and other spots on the river. Highly recommend his Airbnb!

  • Jonathan was a super cool host and laid back. The house was clean and the beds really comfy! If I ever visit again I'll stay here. I would definitely recommend.

    Lauren2016-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is quiet and comfy. A little far off the beaten path, but the right price. The host was easy-going and accommodating to a last minute reservation. Cleanliness was average (though a question as to whether the sheets had been freshly changed) for this kind of rental. The room is real nice with a comfortable bed. Bathroom and kitchen and living room all solid and clean. Sort of a funky gas stove, but not big deal. No real complaints if you don't mind the commute from Gentilly.

    Michael2013-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The room in Jonathan's home was just what we were looking for during our short New Orleans stay. It was clean, spacious, and the bed was comfy. Jonathan provided us with fresh towels and access to his fridge (which we never actually used but the gesture was nice!) It was only a 15 minute drive to the French Quarter and we actually enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist area. If you are planning on hitting the town all day and looking for a place to rest your head at night you really cannot beat this price. Thanks again Jonathan!

Cozy room less than a half mile to beautiful city park, 2.5 miles to downtown. Groceries & shopping options just a few blocks away. Queen sized bed ,shared kitchen and bathroom, street parking, Wi-Fi.
Please note because the way the upstairs is set you'll have to walk though my room to get to the shower which I don't mind if you don't. I do have my room petitioned off to allow a more privacy. There is another half bath room across the hall otherwise. Smoking allowed outside.

  • Jonathan’s place is fun. It is somehow eclectic, comfortable, interesting, artistic, groovy, unique, non-traditional, and a little historic all at the same time. He was a great host, and I loved that he left fruit out for us. We would definitely stay here again! The shower situation isn’t weird at all, and it’s honestly very typical New Orleans to have less privacy than in other areas. If you’re a person that must have everything perfectly private and aren’t good with different situations, the downstairs room might not be for you. But we don’t mind sharing space and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is very clean. Thank you, Jonathan!

    JuliAnne2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Jonathan was pleasant. He was there when we arrived to let us in and also showed us some things to do on a map of the area, shared some wine with us, and gave us a safer place behind his house to park his car. The house was really unique and artsy and our room was clean, the bed was pretty squeaky though. The backyard could have been a little more organized and clean, but otherwise it was a good stay for the money. The surrounding area is a bit run down but the French Quarter in new Orleans was beautiful and a lot of fun.

    Liam2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • This bedroom is good value if you're looking for a nice place to stay that's inexpensive in New Orleans. You're about 3 to 4 miles away from the French Quarter and you can Uber or take public transportation there. The host is friendly and helpful.

  • Jonathan welcome us at late notice in a very friendly way. Our stay was short but pleasant. The room was as he described.

  • My puppy and I had a great stay at Jonathan’s home. It was in a great location and very peaceful. Jonathan is a kind and generous man and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jonathan’s home to anyone who is looking for accommodations while in New Orleans.

  • Jonathon's place was in a super chill part of town! Close to the interstate exit and an easy uber ride to/from the quarter and Frenchman Street. My favorite part was the coffee made from the percolator. His home was super charming.

Centrally located Bohemian sanctuary found 2 blocks off Esplanade Ave. in the historic 7th ward. 15min walk to FQ, 25min walk to City Park/Jazzfest. 5-15mins by car to FQ, City Park, uptown or downtown. Free bikes for you to explore with! Secondline neighborhood on many Sundays. Immerse yourself in NOLA culture!
Historic Creole Cottage built using barge boards, renovated post Katrina and decorated with Bohemian flare. Guest bedroom has brand new firm memory foam super comfy double mattress, table, lounge chair and lots of peaceful energy in the air! I do have 2 wonderful kitties that live with me. They go where they go, so if you'd like to share your bedroom space with them, leave your door open. Otherwise, feel free to close your door. You are welcome to give them love and cuddles.
My hood is pretty chill with coffee shops and good eats within walking distance. I love being so close to beautiful Esplanade Ave. and I walk down it often. On some Sunday's there are Secondlines that parade through the neighborhood so it turns into a wonderful daytime party! I highly suggest doing some Secondline research and joining in. All are welcome to dance, eat/drink and enjoy! Search "takin it to the streets" for wwoz's full Secondline schedule.
  • Jamie is wonderful and her kitty cat Mr. Peepers is like the NOLA welcome cat. He will greet you every time you walk in the door, or come right in for afternoon cuddles. He put a smile on my face every day. Very clean and calming home, a great fit for young professionals or those seeking a calming cultured experience. If all you want to do in NOLA is get drunk, keep moving. Staying in this home was truly a privilege. Access to bike was great but train before you come. I was in for a rude awakening as my tush was not used to being on a bike seat. I recommend bringing your own helmet and a gel seat if you plan to bike a lot. Jamie provides bike locks. Know that the cops are serious about bikers following the rules. Stay off the sidewalk, ride with the flow of traffic, and do not ride the wrong way down a one way street. Locals told me they will give you a ticket. Check out Cajun Seafood just two blocks away for boiled seafood, adult bevs, and ice cream. It's a hole in the wall place but cheap, good, and authentic NOLA cuisine. FQ is a 10-15 min bike ride away, City park, 3 miles. There is a cemetery in between City Park and this location. Most lyft rides anywhere are $10 unless it's peak hours or you're going to the airport. RTA busses are very clean, on time, fast, and no one ever bothered me while riding. Just be sure to push the stop button very early or they might blow past your stop. If you seek fine dining, I suggest making your reservations well in advance. I enjoyed my cooking class, live music on Frenchman, City Park, and the Long Vue Mansion and Gardens the most out of my trip. Circle foods is also nearby with a decent selection of basic groceries. I packed a lunch every day that I was there and just had a quick bagel in the AM for breakfast to save $$ for activities and dinner. I will miss this place.

    Christine2018-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place, host and cats. Lovely room in a perfect location and the bikes were incredibly useful.

    Cameron2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Soon as you walk in the door you will see Jamie’s personality is decorated all over the place!! And if you get it right away you know your in welcome in good spirits, if you are in town and need a place to stay i highly recommend this place

    Michael2017-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • I can recommend Jamie's place for a very pleasant and comfortable stay. The bed is super comfy which is good for anyone that wants a good night's sleep (isn't that everyone these days??). But don't take my word for it. Book a stay at Jamie's and find out for yourself. Furthermore I might add that the place is well situated close to public transport and the French Quarter and City District and other suburbs are relatively easily accessible whether on foot or by bus.

    Tony2018-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jamies place is clean and a very comfortable bed. She is a sweetheart!

  • Absolutely loved this accommodation and New Orleans! Comfortable room, easy to get to, straight forward check-in, and plenty of tips around the room for places to eat, tours to go on, etc. My favourite stay so far in the last 2 months of travelling!

  • I had a very nice week-long stay at the Cottage. The house is very cozy and stylish. Jamie was very helpful and responsive. The cats were cute. The Cottage is very close to Esplanade, which makes walking to both French Quarter and City Park (which are in opposite directions), as well as Treme, easy and enjoyable.

This is a "mother in law" apartment added to my house in the 60's. Its a separate residence from my house and although attached there is no access between the two dwellings. Minutes to the French Quarter, downtown, the lakefront, and Mid City. Sure, you can find cooler places in hipper neighborhoods but you will pay ALOT more. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
It's a small (400 sqft) mother in law that was added in the 60's. It cozy and has "charm" in its own way. The bathroom is a kitschy 60's yellow with black trim, and the kitchen boasts a vintage Anderson stove from the 50's. No doubt moved from the main house after the renovation, the stove is like an old Cadillac. It's huge! I have cooked on it a bunch and I actually want to restore it and put it back in the big house. Someday, but for now you can enjoy it. All the burners work, as well as the broiler and hot plate. I never did try and fire up the slow cooker. Currently the oven thermostat is malfunctioning so if your yearning to bake I'll hook you up with my oven. The apartment could use a real renovation as the kitchen cabinets and floors are old and dated but it's not going to happen for a while, hence the low price. It's clean, and we keep it nice, besides you didn't come all the way here to spend time in a house.
Gentilly is quiet suburb just 3 miles north of the French Quarter of traditionally working class families. The homes are larger, and spaced on larger lots than some of the older more historic neighborhoods. My house was built in the 1920's, on gentilly ridge. It's the highest point around, and was high ground for Katrina. We were an island during Katrina, Betsy, and Camille! Getting around is easy. We are centrally located with fast access to the quarter, Mid City, the Fairgrounds, City Park, and the lakefront. You can be almost anywhere in the city in under 10 minutes or less.
  • We had a great time at Joe's place! The house was very comfortable and had a unique New Orleans feel. We would definitely choose this Airbnb again if we come back!

  • Joe's place is in a safe, convenient location. The layout and privacy is fantastic.

    Steve2018-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Joe went above and beyond to make sure our stay was extraordinary! We arrived after a 14 hour drive slightly earlier than expected and Joe let us check in before our time. We were so gracious that we didn’t have to wait around for 6 hours when we just needed to unload and take a rest! There is a bulletin board in the house with a map of the city and suggestions for things to do/places to eat with descriptions of everything! There were takeout/delivery food menus on the fridge as well for a night in. Also, plenty of coffee as well as some snacks. The place is so cute, clean, and perfect. The chickens are so fun to watch peck around! The bed is super cozy and the shower curtain has a picture of a magnificent stallion. I forgot my hairdryer at home and opened the hall closet to find not only a hairdryer, but plenty of extra shampoo, soap, towels, and other odds and ends. Joe responded right away to my message asking for a food recommendation! He gave us the name of an awesome Vietnamese place. We will be coming back for sure! Thanks for making our trip so special!

    Jess2018-01-07T00:00:00Z

This well-appointed one bedroom home in a newly renovated century-old double shotgun is centrally located in New Orleans' Mid City neighborhood. Located just 5 minutes from the French Quarter and Central Business District, 10 minutes from the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, and 15 minutes from Louis Armstrong Airport, it is an ideal spot for tourist and business travelers alike.
  • This had to be the most stylish and freakishly clean place I've ever rented on Airbnb. Centrally located to everything and one of the best values around. The host was very helpful with tips on how to navigate the city. Highly recommended. Thank you.

  • Amazing place!!

    Charles2019-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend staying at this Airbnb. First the host is amazing. Before I got to New Orleans I get some recommendations about places to go and things to do in the city by email. After I arrived, anytime I contacted him I got an immediate response and the Roku for the TV was replaced in hours when it randomly stopped working. Next, the living space was clean. There was parking available right in front of the house which was nice. The location was great in the sense that it was close to everything. I traveled to New Orleans to meet up with a bunch of friends from College and we all stayed at different Airbnb locations/Hotels, and every evening all of them wanted to met up at this Airbnb location before we went out. I think the reason was a combination of the great location, and the fact that the house was just really nice. All in all, I say if you can book this place, you should.

Quirky, welcoming & artful private room in a home with 2 roommates (Kaila & Nicole). Perfect for the budget savvy traveler wanting a NOLA experience. Centrally located, less than 10 min drive or a leisurely (& beautiful) 25-30 minute walk to French Quarter. NOTE: If you are not comfortable in a mostly minority and less affluent neighborhood, we are not the room for you. If you are hoping to be steps from the touristy areas, we are not the room for you.
Historic shotgun double renovated to a single family home. Great front and back porches with views of St. Roch Park. Fully furnished home and access to kitchen for home-cooked meals. Art art art galore on our walls! Bathroom shared with 1 roommate, living space shared with 2 roomies and a 9 lb maltese-poodle. The house is always clean but we do live here, so please don't expect perfect order at all times in the living spaces. We clean regularly, but we are not neat-freaks so if you are uncomfortably in a happily lived-in home (yes, the mail and the dishes sometimes pile up in a day), we are not the room for you.
St. Roch is an up and coming neighborhood that is still a true New Orleans experience! It is walking distance (about 10 min) to the trendy St. Claude Arts District & beautiful Marigny neighborhood and an easy bike, car or bus ride to the French Quarter (walkable also, but a little more of a trek--about 25-30 minutes).
  • The place was nice and upon arrival we had access to the house with out own key and a nice book with instructions and suggestions !! We met Nicole the next morning and she is so sweet and down to earth !! I definitely will be staying next time ..very quiet at night. Very close to French Quarter and the interstate.

Half double conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood in the Gentilly area. Only 3 miles from the French Quarter, Superdome, and downtown New Orleans.
Newly built home (June 2016) with two private bedrooms and two private bathrooms. Outdoor deck and grill in back. With private driveway for off-street parking.
The neighborhood is very quiet and conveniently located only 2 miles from Bourbon Street, 3 miles from the Superdome, and centrally located to pretty much any other area of the city.
  • Wonderful!!

  • Great location as we were able to get to most areas within 10-15 minutes. Uber to Bourbon Street was only $10. The home is very clean, modern, and in a quite neighborhood and very close to I-10. and Just enough amenities for a short stay and much better than a hotel room. We would definitely stay here again.

    Stacy2018-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • The location was ideal and the pictures accurately reflected the house. It definitely felt like a home away from home. This was my first Airbnb and I had a positive experience. I would keep this place in mind when visiting New Orleans again.

    Tamika2018-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • It's a great comfy house that is close enough to all the local hot spots that driving or Ubering is a valid option. Donnell is a great and communicative host that really makes you feel at home.

    Jacob2018-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Donnell was a perfect host and I absolutely loved how spacious his place was. Very modern and stylish in a safe neighborhood. Never once felt unsafe or uncomfortable. Highly recommend staying here when you're in town. It's an incredible value.

    Estefan2018-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very Convenient. And great kitchen. Everything spic and span!

    John2018-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic value for money. Donnell was a great host, very quick with communication, the house was spacious and comfortable. Location seemed safe, and was close enough to town for an uber ride. Thanks Donnell

    Samantha2018-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Donnell’s place was exactly as described and we loved it. It was sparkling clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had a lot of rain during our stay and ended up staying in more than anticipated but the house was wonderful to come back to after each drizzly day. The giant tub was a big plus, plenty of hot water and the towels were luxurious. Donnell was a great host! Great location and great deal, would definitely recommend and stay again!

This magical room is located in my home in the Marigny area of New Orleans, a 5 minute walk to Frenchmen Street, and a 15 minute walk from the French Quarter. It's a very special and beautiful "nest" with it's own private entrance. There are quite a few special amenities to make you feel at home, and you have your private small porch and use of the adjacent dining room as well - please come stay!
This is a very small room located in the back of my home, which also has a large guest suite up front that is rented here on Airbnb. There is one bathroom for the home that is shared with whomever is staying up front (usually just two people), and myself. However, I will note that bathroom sharing has never seemed to be an issue here! I am very invisible. Also I clean/sanitize bathroom daily. There are tons of towels and also toiletries for your use. I am sorry but there is no kitchen access with this room rental. However - there is a 5-gallon spring water dispenser and also ice available in the adjacent dining room, so drink up. In your room you have a tiny fridge, a coffeemaker and electric kettle, and a selection of coffee/tea/sugar/creamer/salt and pepper, etc. as well as a few dishes and utensils. This room is tiny but cozy: It has a daybed that is a twin bed with cotton sheets, blankets, a comforter and pillows. There is a wide stool you can pull over to use as a bedside table, and one chair. There is a small TV with cable, and great and reliable WiFi. The door to the rest of the house - which has a lock -opens onto the dining room, which you have use of ( had a table that is great for a workspace also), and the bathroom is just steps away. Storage is available in the empty cupboards underneath the built-in bookshelves, and there are a couple hooks and hangers on the wall. But best of all - this little room has it's own outside entrance and small porch, so you can come and go as you please without disturbing anyone else or having to deal with them yourself! There is a brand new window unit AC in the room, and a small space heater so you control the temperature you want. This room might be small, but it's one of my favorite spaces in my home...a cozy, private retreat from the rest of the world.
The Marigny is a diverse and artistic neighborhood which adjoins the French Quarter.
  • Merry humbly offers an eclectic and artsy abode, true to New Orlean's eccentric and beautiful style

    Mitchell2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Merry was an outstanding communicator. She ensured that the check-in and check-out were free of any issues. Her listing is appealing for many reasons, but I found its proximity to the French Quarter to be one of the most appealing attributes. I highly recommend Merry's listing!

    Jacob2018-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Merry, Hugo, and their home are amazing! I had already stayed in her solo traveler room and grabbed the bigger room on my last night in New Orleans. Something about Merry.... She is a warm, wonderful, creative, talented, perceptive, caring person that is the perfect Airbnb host. She appreciates her beautiful home and nurtures it, preserving its amazing history. She is also very well aware of the history of the neighborhood. Merry instantly made me feel at home. Hugo, her wonderful dog, is the cutest little guy in the world. If you want, he'll be your buddy. If you don't, Merry can make that happen, too. I wanted a true New Orleans experience and couldn't have done better. Marigny has a rich history and has so much beautiful architecture. Ask Merry about it. There is a strong sense of community on Merry's block as well as the immediate area. Early morning and evening walks with camera in tow is a wonderful and relaxing experience. Merry can point you to her favorite cafe within a block of her house. The bed has to be the most comfortable bed ever made-- and I've had a spinal fusion so I'm fussy! I sat out on the porch in the evening and early morning, accepting compliments on Merry's color schemes from the neighborhood folks out for a stroll with their dogs. So New Orleans! I can't imagine how you could have a better Airbnb experience-- great location, great home, great hosts in Merry and Hugo! I'll be back for sure. Laissez les bons temps rouler!

  • Cozy bedroom in a beautiful home on a magical, verdant street. Great location, and Merry is a wonderful host.

    Alex2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • I have used Airbnb for years and I've had a ton of experiences. Merry's home was just that; It was a beautifully curated, thoughtful home. I stayed in a small room. Everything was clean and readily available. I didn't have to ask for anything, but felt like my needs were already anticipated. Also, I didn't feel like some sort of income, but a guest, which rarely happens. I wasn't able to meet Merry, but I believe she is generally there. Hope to see her in the not too distant future. The neighborhood was quiet, there was a food co-op close by and plenty of coffee shops. It was a quick walk to the French Quarter and honestly felt like a nice escape from the touristy parts of the city.

    Abbey2019-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Not only is the house spectacular and in a fabulous location, but Merry could not have been a more warm and loving host! My stay far exceeded my expectation on every level and I look forward to booking my next visit at Merry’s ASAP!

    Ryan2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Eccentric, inviting, large yet cozy home. Small room has a private entrance through a sweet courtyard. Pictures can't do it justice. Merry couldn't have been more amazing. Short notice wasn't a problem. This was my very first airbnb experience! I was a bit nervous about what to expect. I instantly felt comfortable & welcome. I had everything I could possibly need plus some! I'm only staying here if & when I return. No question. She's the hostess with the mostest!

    Sarah2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here made my New Orleans visit perfect. Merry is a terrific host; her place is delightful, spacious, cool, open, and welcoming. The room is small but perfect for a single traveler. It has a private little porch for quiet contemplation, its own air conditioning, and a private entrance so you can come and go without worrying about disturbing anyone else in the home. I would stay again in a heartbeat. 5 stars!

Our place is private and affordable. We are centrally located just minutes to 5-15 min drive to anywhere in the city. We are exactly 4.8 miles from Bourbon Street/FQ. Our space is a quaint 400 sq ft private guest suite. The extra high ceilings make the space feel more spacious. There is one queen size bed and sofa converts to a full bed also. We have a hand made counter area that adds character to the room and guest also have access to the deck/porch. The guest can also have access to main house kitchen(ask about details).
Our space was recently renovated. Our guests have access to a full bath with a shower. The sofa converts to a full bed. A mini fridge, microwave, and coffee pot are available for our guests to use. There is a fenced back yard.
New Orleans is a small city, so most areas in New Orleans proper (Orleans parish) are only a 10 minute drive from downtown/French Quarters. Our neighborhood is a quiet and safe area that's literally a "stone throw" from all of the action. It is a great escape from the busy nightlife of downtown/French Quarter but it is only a 5-10 minute drive to the city's happening spots. For those with children, there's a nice neighborhood park down the street. City park and the walking trail along our beloved Bayou St. John that leads to the Fairgrounds are also walking distance...great for a morning run. We have some amazing locally owned eateries nearby that maintain the traditions of New Orleans cooking.
  • This tiny house was perfect for a weekend stay in NOLA! Was about a 10-15 minute Uber ride to the French quarter, usually around $8-$12, not bad!! The house itself was very roomy for 2 people. There were a few things that were missing; garbage bags, hand soap in the bathroom as well as a toilet paper holder, the dish soap was empty and the sponge was not very nice. There was also no large body mirror or many hangers for hanging clothes. They also did not check the garbage or replace the towels during the 4 day stay, so we were stuck using the same small towel the whole weekend. It was very clean and had a lot of seating and space to unpack. Little things could improve the stay but overall was a great value. Adrienne was also very sweet during check in. Also it is hard to find since it is located behind another home, so it’s easiest to contact Adrienne when you arrive.

    Rachel2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place, absolutely lovely owners. Can't wait to stay here again next time I'm in town! Perfect getaway oasis within a vacation getaway.

    Chen2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great value, great place to stay to be close to French Quarter and other NO sites. We would definitely stay here again,

    Joyce2017-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I decided to make a rather impromptu trip to New Orleans. Being the frugalist I am, finding Adrienne's little home for an equally little price was perfect. We were warmly welcomed by Adrienne and her husband when we arrived, and they were quick to let us know that they were available for whatever we needed--extra linens, toiletries, suggestions on where to eat, etc. The home itself is cute and cozy, and was perfect for us. The neighborhood was also very pretty and kids were outside, playing at night, which is typically a sign of a safe neighborhood. It was also remarkably easy to get around, thanks to a bus stop being only a couple of blocks away--a perfect location. I highly recommend Adrienne's home to any couple who is looking for a private, comfy place to stay in while exploring NOLA!

    Emily2016-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny home was great! Close to the park, quiet location, really comfortable stay! Andrienne was very helpful and gave some great recommendations.

  • I had a short, but lovely stay with Genene and David and really appreciated their warm hospitality. They went above and beyond my expectations and I can't say enough about how kind they were. The space is cozy and very nicely decorated, with all the little extras you may need (a hair dryer, toiletries, coffee, and REAL creamer, etc.). I was worried the bed wouldn't be comfortable since it's a convertible trundle, but it was super comfy and we slept great. I highly recommend this location for your visit to New Orleans!

    Michele2017-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Two words: BOOK IT. Genene’s place is just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the Quarter but close enough to go in when you want. The space is impeccable and so cozy. I would stay here every time we visit NOLA- Do yourself a favor and stay here!!!!

    Tay & Sam2018-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • A fabulous room with everything that one would require. Highly enjoyed the place!

    Kevin2018-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great studio bnb!! Quiet neighborhood and location. Greeted by host at arrival and had privacy and close parking.

    Ashley2018-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • The place is a great deal. 10 mts from the Quarter, whether drive or uber. And you spend a ton of money less on lodging than you would at a place closer. And the neighborhood is not just safe but actually lovely. There’s a little café for locals a minute away and a local diner a couple of minutes away. No complaints about the apartment itself. I found the bed very comfy even if it’s on the smaller side. It offers privacy, separate entrance and all. Genene and David are lovely people as you would expect. Have Genene tell you about the secret parking spot in the French Quarter. She is also a wealth of knowledge on NOLA history. David is an interesting man and listening to him is a treat. They both really give you your space and stay out of your business, but if you approach them they are extremely open and receive you warmly.

    Amr2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great hosts!

    Oleg2018-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Genene’s place was awesome! Clean, stylish, and had necessary amenities. Would definitely recommend her to others and would also stay again. Only slight downfall is that she’s a bit further out from the city, about 10-15 minutes. Regardless, a Lyft for that distance is less than $20 so it wasn’t a real issue.

    Nereliz2018-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a perfect stay at Genene. They were very great with us. Thanx

One of a kind house overlooking Bourbon St. and Orleans Ave. across from the Bourbon Orleans Hotel. This overlooks Bourbon Street in the exact center of the French Quarter.
This is an upstairs unit with a corner Bourbon Street balcony in the middle of one of the most iconic locations in the city.
This is a unique place and you will be living in the very center of the French Quarter. I love our neighborhood because of its uniqueness, diversity, and liveliness. It is so rich with history and recognizable around the world as " New Orleans". Whether it's 3 o'clock in afternoon or 3 o'clock in the morning, there is always something going on in the French Quarter.
  • Best location! Super clean and parking was a breeze!

    Beatriz2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and convenient location. Andres was very helpful and easy to get in touch with. I would definitely stay here again.

    Matt2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot! Convenient location to all things Bourbon, but super safe. We had a bunch of girls down in New Orleans for a trip and thought we'd try Bourbon Street for one night. We were able to walk to bars and restaurants, and it was a great central location if we split up and wanted to all meet back at the apartment after some adventuring. Andres's place was clean, and super spacious! Bigger feeling than the pictures make it seem. And the balcony is such a plus!! So fun to stand out there and watch the street with a drink. Bathroom was spotless, and plenty of fresh clean towels were available for us to use. Beds are incredibly comfy to come back to after a night on the town. Also - it wasn't terribly loud at night if you were a light sleeper. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to stay on bourbon!!!

    Theresa2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for my first trip to NO or LA. Exactly as advertised. Communication was spot on and immediate. Andres has definitely earned his rating as a superhost. I would definitely stay here again next time. Superb.

    Sean2017-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, awesome to be right on Bourbon. We sat on the balcony and people watched for hours. Comfy beds and stylishly decorated. Just a side note, an FYI ... yes, it was a little noisy still when we turned in at 2 am, just like Andres warned us and we suspected using common sense (it IS Bourbon St. ...). We closed the windows and shutters and it honestly wasn’t too bad. However, they have Bourbon St. right under the balcony ripped up and under construction ... and they started at like 7 am with drilling and hammering. Just an FYI. Not Andres’ fault. It’s a great place.

    Kate2019-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Nice but noisy. Earplugs help :)

    Sandor2018-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Apartment is located in a perfect area. So many things to do all within walking distance. Incredible spot for people watching and being in the middle of the action without having to participate.

    Jesse2018-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was just as advertised. Great space in a great location! Communication was quick and informative, and check in was made incredibly simple. 10/10, would recommend.

Come be a guest in my lovely two-room suite, located in my historic Marigny cottage, three blocks from Frenchmen Street and a 15 minute walk to Jackson Square in the French Quarter!
Two rooms, with an arch in between, in my Marigny home: a bedroom with a Queen sized bed, and a sitting area with a daybed set up as a couch, but can sleep a third person (twin mattress. ) The space features hand-stencilled walls and is furnished with an eclectic mix of antiques, vintage furniture, art and books...and a vintage baby grand piano! There is a small chest of drawers and an Art Nouveau wardrobe in which to store your clothing and other items. Amenities include wireless internet and a new 24" television with a Roku and cable. There is a latch to lock yourself in from the rest of the house. I am sorry, but there is no kitchen use with the rental of this suite. However, in your suite there is a mini fridge, a coffeemaker and an electric kettle along with an assortment of coffee, tea, sugar, etc. and a some dishes, glasses and flatware. There is a 5-gallon spring water dispenser as well as ice in the nearby dining room, so drink up! The bathroom is 'European Style', meaning it is shared with the rest of the house, which is myself and whomever is staying in the tiny room in the back of the house ( limited to one person.) I have yet to have issues with us all sharing a bathroom; I am invisible, and it's rare you will run into the other guest. It is a short walk through two rooms to the bathroom, which is fitted with a claw-foot tub and a rain shower head. I sanitize the bathroom daily, and there are plenty of towels and toiletries also. There is a latch on the door to lock yourself in. I am extremely scrupulous when it comes to linens; all sheets and towels are white and are bleached and put through the sanitizing cycle of my washer in between guests.
Marigny is a wonderful, eclectic, artsy neighborhood and is the second oldest neighborhood in the city, the French Quarter being the oldest. My home is a 15 minute walk away from Jackson Square in the heart of the Quarter, and is three blocks from Frenchmen Street. Who Dat Cafe and Orange Couch are nearby coffee shops (two and three blocks away, respectively) and there are numerous dining and shopping choices nearby without even having to go to the Quarter, including a Co-Op grocery store and Walgreens.
  • Merry's house is charming and comfortable and nicely decorated and clean! It's a great location, about a 5 minute walk from Frenchmen St. Merry was a friendly and welcoming host, and I'd happily stay with her again next time I'm in New Orleans!

    Chris2018-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Highly highly recommend staying with Merry! She made my boyfriend & I feel incredibly welcome - like we were staying with a good friend. Her home is decorated to the nines, and the whole place was spotless the entire time. We really enjoyed our conversations with Merry and also adored her pup, Hugo. Frenchman street is a 5 minute walk, and Bourbon is a 10 minute walk. This was our first Airbnb experience, and because of our amazing experience w/ Merry we will definitely be doing this again!

    Katie2015-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Merry’s home is centrally located within ~5 minutes walking distance to the French Quarter. She is friendly, hospitable, communicative and goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is special. 100% would recommend her gorgeous home to friends and future travelers!

    Valerio2018-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • I have never felt so much at home even though I was 925 miles away. Merry welcomed us with open arms and we honestly would not have had such a great experience if we had stayed somewhere else. Her home is absolutely stunning and she is so caring. My best friend and I didn't want to leave on our last day. Not only is she kind but also her diverse neighbors are full of advice if you've never been to New Orleans before. Their hospitality was so valuable that I hope we return soon.

    Anna2015-09-30T00:00:00Z

    Philippe2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Merry’s home is so welcoming, beautiful and comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and hip and the food nearby is to die for. This is an absolutely outstanding spot to stay.

    Sara2017-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Merry is so genuinely friendly and an incredible hostess! She made us feel so welcome. It was our first time sharing a house with someone else so we were a bit nervous. We had 0 problems and I can't wait to come back when we inevitably come back to NOLA. The place was so cute and our room was amazing. The bed was great, the blue ceiling was so neat, and just the overall house/vibe was phenomenal. It was like a mini second home. We wanted somewhere close to the Decatur Street/Louis Armstrong are and it was incredibly close. It was humid so we ended up taking our car, but you can easily walk to all of the exciting stuff going on. Make sure to love on Hugo! He is precious. Thanks Merry! We loved it!

    Destiny2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Merry was honestly born to be an Airbnb hostess. Not only is her house unbelievably beautiful but Merry is one of the loveliest people I have ever met. My friend and I had such a wonderful stay at her home. If you're looking for the place to stay you have found it. I would come back in a heartbeat and can't recommend it enough.

    Marine2017-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed this place because it was walkable from the French Quarter (about 20 minutes), fairly central, and roomy and bright. When disaster struck -- we lost our key the evening before we were to leave, Jo/Tyler were both very responsive and very gracious about the mishap. We also enjoyed the Treme neighborhood with the "double shotgun" architectural style.

    Merle2018-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Jo + Tyler’s adorable space for 2 nights and slept like babies. There were so many little thoughtful touches, like an electric tea kettle, milk for coffee, and a bible in the nightstand drawer if you are so inclined. Neighborhood is friendly, someone even stopped us and asked if we needed help loading our car as we left. Obsessed with the pink couch- so much comfier than expected! Bed is comfy but does squeak a little when you turn (we didn’t mind at all), parking was super easy and there was always a spot either directly in front of the house or a few houses down. Super close to the French quarter (about 5 min drive) and I 10 so you can get everywhere pretty fast. Our stay was short but sweet and we loved it! Thanks for making this trip a memorable one!

  • Pros: just as advertised. Jo + Tyler are quick with responses. I didn’t need much, with the expectation that our flight was at 5p and needed an extension with the checkout time. They were great with accommodating. Check in/out process was easy Cons: thin walls. We heard every step and every noise our neighbor made. Shower was clogged. Bed squeaks, loudly. The neighborhood looked sketchy but everyone was friendly and nice. Very homey. I was raised in a neighborhood like this one so it was easy to fit in.

  • Their place was fine! Located close to central Nola, it was easy to walk in the morning, and safer to take a Lyft at night. The bed was very squeaky, the walls are very thin, but the house is roomy and looks nice. The water pressure from the shower was good although the shower head cannot be adjusted. We really liked the diffuse light in the bedroom and the couch was super comfy for reading/relaxing.

  • Very quaint and nicely decorated. Full kitchen. located within walking distance of French quarter and several parks. also easy in and out when getting on the freeways. Duplex has paper thin walls so cross your fingers that you have courteous neighbors!

  • The listing was exactly as described and in a really central location! Jan was really communicative and helpful and had lots of great suggestions for local spots to check out. It was our first time in New Orleans but definitely won't be our last! Thanks for an awesome stay!

**There is a sofa bed available and a air mattress for multiple guests** 1700sqft beautiful old New Orleans Shotgun style house with lots of charm located very close to the parade (Website hidden by Airbnb) about a 10-15 min walk to (Website hidden by Airbnb) Mardi Gras day,you can see Rex from the porch.Walk 3 blocks to Freret for local bars and restaurants. You're about a ($7)10 min drive from anywhere in the (Website hidden by Airbnb) also 2 blocks from multiple bus routes. The house has has high ceilings and hard wood floors.
It's just a really nice house in a great neighborhood. 12 ft ceilings. Hardwood floors. Furnished kitchen. It's pretty roomy at 1700sqft. Master bedroom has a king bed and the other bedroom has a queen. The sofa turns into a queen size sleeper. There's also an air mattress and a cot for multiple guests. I'm only allowed to have four guests, but you can message me with any questions. Feel free to play any records in the record player. There's a roku tv available as well and a playstation 3. Short term permit number is 17STR-08391.
Really nice quiet street with lots of places in walking distance. Check out Freret Street...There's restaurants, coffee shops, music clubs, and a couple bars. There is also a Walgreens and cvs 2-3 blocks away. It's super convenient to get around. You're only a 10 min or less drive to the French quarter, bywater, cbd, mid city, lower garden district, river bend, super dome, and many other cool spots.
  • A truly gorgeous space in a convenient location hosted by a lovely family. About a 15 minute walk to the St. Charles streetcar ($1.25), this perch is an excellent value and gives you easy access to the French Quarter, Marigny and the Garden District. The interior has beautiful hardwood floors and is well appointed, with an aging but functional bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped, and our hostess, Elena (sp?), offered excellent tips for local restaurants, music, and history. She is a delight! Parking on site is convenient, so leave your car if you have one, and walk to the street car. Depending on which way you approach and where you are coming from, the neighborhood can appear dicey at first, but this spot was safe, clean and quiet in a neighborhood with enchanting architecture. One of my favorite airbnb stays ever!

  • There was plenty of space for our weekend "staycation" . The ability to park off the street was a plus. The bath and kitchen had plenty of necessities. I liked that there were gaming systems to use if we wanted and that we had the option of a king or queen sized bed(there was only the 2 of us).

  • We enjoyed our stay. It was a little odd staying in a shotgun house as you have to walk through one room to get to the other. It was spacious. The linens were excellent. Also had spare toiletries, water, and other items in the fridge available. Would definitely stay again.

  • Lovely, clean home. Jason responded immediately to our questions. We felt right at home.

  • Love love love this place! Jason and Elena are great hosts, the location is great and a beautiful home to spend your time in while visiting. There are great restaurants (Bearcat Cafe, Hi-Hat Cafe, Blaze Pizza), coffee (Rook Cafe), and a cool bar called Cure down the street that I would recommend!

    Malila2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jason's house was lovely, he has it stocked with all kinds of amenities like La Croix, coffee, and creamer. The house is a true shot-gun so you will need to go through one bedroom to get to the other but both have doors that shut. One small note is that the home is further away from the St Charles streetcar than what we expected. I would say it was about a 20 minute walk for two young people and just short of a mile. That being said, the price cannot be beat! we had a wonderful time and would absolutely come back. Thank you, Jason!

Katharine was an amazing hostess. She was kind enough to allow us to drop off our bags before check-in time. She had lots of recommendations of what to do in the area. The house is ideally situated and with a car, it was a quick trip to Bourbon Street, The Garden District, Magazine Street and the Warehouse District. The house is charming and is exactly as pictured. When we awoke our first morning, there were croissants on our door. I highly recommend staying with Katharine.

John and his apartment were great. He responded to my questions right away and even gave us advice on travel in the city. The neighborhood was very cool/convenient and even included a resident peacock :-).
