Just booked in Michigan
Walk to Belle Isle, 6 min drive to downtown! A spacious 1BR corner loft overlooking the river and two parks. Lots of light and beautiful view. Convenient location off Jefferson Ave and Detroit's Riverwalk. Gated parking for one car. First time visitors to Detroit and city regulars will enjoy using my loft as a base of operations. I've been a contributing author to Wildsam Field Guides, an eclectic guidebook publisher, and have great recommendations for most cravings in this unique city.
I have a few spaces in Detroit. If this loft is unavailable, check one of my other cool spots: https://www.airbnb.com/users/6405993/listings This loft is beautiful, open, and full of light. A perfect retreat in Detroit. I grew up in Montana, lived in India for a few years, and ran a journalism startup in Detroit called Jaunt, so I have decorated my place with remnants of my travels. I also contributed to a Detroit guidebook called WildSam Field Guides, so I can help you put together a good itinerary or fill any holes you might have. I mostly live on my sailboat during the summer and I teach Marine Science on a sailing school vessel. The loft is all open except for the bathroom. The bedroom is separated by a wall without a ceiling. The kitchen has all the basic essentials and utensils plus coffee, tea, cereal, oatmeal, etc. for breakfast. I have an HDTV with Blu-Ray, Roku, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and an HD OTR antennae for NBC, ABC, FOX, etc. Then there's the bed. Queen and super comfortable - I splurged on the bed because good sleep is really important to me. For extra guests, there is a queen pull-out sofa in the common area. The apartment can accommodate up to four (two in each queen bed) but you're starting to get a little cramped. I will decline requests for greater than four people unless you have a special circumstance. There are two A/C units: one window-mounted right next to the bed and the other in the living room space. They do a good job on the loft 90% of the time, but if the sun is glaring and it is scorching hot, they won't be able to create the refrigerated A/C frigidity we are used to with central air. The bedroom unit works perfectly if you shut the door to the common area. In the winter, you can turn the heat up as much as you like and make it toasty warm.
I moved here in October, 2014 from the nearby West Village area where there are a few great new restaurants, like Craft Work, Detroit Vegan Soul, and Red Hook Coffee. The loft is on the Riverwalk, which is a bike/walk trail connecting you to downtown and Eastern Market via the Dequindre Cut, a converted rail line that runs off of the Riverwalk. I am also walking distance to the Belle Isle bridge. The building is kitty corner to a Coast Guard base, a U.S. Federal building, and the offices of a private security firm. The streets are lit and other residents of the building are frequently coming and going. I have always felt that the area around where I live is quite safe.
  • Great loft - clean, interesting and comfortable. It accentuated and complimented our trip to Detroit. Thane was polite and helpful. We would definitely stay here again the next time we're in town.

    Nathan2015-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very accurate description of loft. Even a bit larger in person than the pictures can really capture! I Really loved and appreciated all of the decor and art pieces that Thane has left for his guests to appreciate, it welcomes a mutual respect between him and his guests to trust them with some of his treasures.. Also, tuned n played his acoustic! So fun! The location wasn’t exactly what I expected but I’ve never been to Michigan before much less stayed in Detroit (you should for sure have a vehicle unless you plan on ordering in every meal) but none the less, the loft was truly like home! You don’t have that sterile feeling like at some places, especially like hotels.. It was an unexpected delight. Yes, there are noises especially bright n early but eh.. they were kinda conforting.. I liked the noise ha! But to sum it up- the loft is just as described and totally worth the stay if you’re staying in Detroit for a bit! Cheers

  • Fantastic loft! Clean and cool. Great communication, simple check in. I kind of wished we had booked more than two nights ☺

    Erik2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Thane was a knowledgeable and welcoming host with a really great place! Would definitely stay again while in Detroit.

    Dominic2015-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great stay. Thane was extremely helpful with all my questions. It was a perfect location near downtown and close to Grosse Pointe. He was kind enough to have some Michigan beers in the fridge for me.

    Mike2015-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Buyer Beware! Fortunately our stay was brief. We checked in at 230 am and were surprised by the condition of the place in the pictures the home appears to be updated IT IS Not the floors are patch worked wood floors with large gaps and holes, I'd suggest house slippers unless you have tough feet. There are spots on the drywall that have been patched but not painted over and many other cosmetic issues. The bathroom is tiny and has low water pressure and has the same wood floor that is rotting obviously due to water contact. The two biggest issues for us though we're the area (there is a reason they need gated parking) and the paper thin walls. At 230 AM when we checked in we could hear the neighbors TV fortunately it was the neighbor away from the master but in the morning we could hear every movement and conversation of the neighbor above including his TiVo remote. We booked 3 days and only stayed that first night and moved over to a hotel. Unfortunately none of these issues were enough for thane to refund us for the last two nights but customer service isn't everyone's thing. I will say his manager Liz was nice and the security guard John that checked us in was very kind as well. I did look up the apartments online when we got there and found that they go for 500 dollars a month which makes sense. If you aren't fussed about neighborhood, condition or privacy this is your spot but personally you can find a much nicer hotel for less. Good luck and happy travels.

  • Great space to stay! My husband and I were visiting family in town but also took the opportunity to stay near downtown to enjoy some of the restaurants. We loved how laid back but hip the loft was. Karen and Thane left great suggestions and a well stocked kitchen. We would def stay here again.

    Crystal2018-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Karen was able to meet me at the door and give me some great tips for my visit. She was super responsive in all communications leading up to the visit. The loft is very hip and comfortable. The upstairs neighbors are a bit noise, but that was mentioned in the description so I knew ahead of time. Not a big deal. I loved the access to the bikes and the awesome riverwalk. Overall, a great stay!

A beautiful, open, airy loft space housed within a completely renovated 1926 industrial building. Centrally located on Woodward Avenue, steps away from the Amsterdam stop of the newly-installed QLINE in New Center. Hop on, and be anywhere you'd like in New Center, Midtown, or Downtown in minutes. Relax, you're home.
This is a modern loft apartment housed within a completely renovated 1926 building that originally housed graphic artists for General Motors, and other companies. Designed by famed-Detroit architect Albert Kahn, you'll notice the signature art-deco front-facade and incredible lobby of the building. All the character of the loft is still intact, from the concrete floors, brick exterior wall, and the mushroom columns Albert Kahn was known for. Home includes a large kitchen, front load washer and dryer, incredibly fast internet with wifi and one bedroom with a queen-sized bed. This building is incredibly peaceful, quiet, and relaxing; while being just blocks away from anything you'd want to do in the city. Kitchen includes gas stove/oven, stainless steel sink, refrigerator, toaster, pots, pans, coffee maker, and any other utensils you need to call Detroit home for a few days. You'll find a single bedroom (this was originally a studio unit, but has been converted into a completely-walled one bedroom unit). Beautifully comfortable queen bed, small dresser, and chair. The main bathroom includes a subway tile shower/tub, sink, and any towels and amenities you'll need to make your stay perfect. Awesomely comfy white cotton sheets are included in the bedroom. The living room includes a couch (can be used for extra sleeping space, but isn't a pull-out), coffee table, and two chairs. 50" HDTV is hooked up to an Apple TV with Netflix. Outdoor space includes a small patio (which you'll enter from) with two bistro chairs and table. Enjoy the sunny back-alley of the building with a drink of your choice from the fridge. Local spots within walking/biking distance include the incredibly beautiful art-deco Fisher and Albert Kahn buildings; Midtown Shopping (Shinola, Willys, Nora, Hugh, Carhartt, Fellow Barber, City Bird, Nest, and more); the mid-century gardens and campus at Wayne State, and more. Local attractions include the city and public art, Belle Isle with its beaches, waterpark, Albert Kahn designed conservatory and aquarium, and trails. The world is your oyster. Restaurants nearby including fast food, Northern Lights Lounge, Falafill, Dangerously Delicious Pies, City Wings, Motor City Brewing Works, Jolly Pumpkin, and more. The loft is all yours while you're here. Enjoy, relax, and hang out. I prefer text and AirBnB message for communication. Taking photos during your stay? Make sure you #thatdetroitloft.
Awesome location right on Woodward at the Midtown/New Center border. Just a few blocks either way to a ridiculous amount of inspiration, character, activities, and restaurants. Take in the Detroit Institute of Arts, or check out the art-deco skyscrapers of New Center.
  • What a total gem in Detroit! The space was even better in person. From the flawless mid-century aesthetic, to the collection of timeless vinyl records, this was the perfect style & vibe of Detroit. I want an exact replica of my own...or I'll just have to visit again. Very clean with all the amenities & Jesse was very prompt & polite in communicating. Thanks for a great experience!

    Douglas2016-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent stay! Beautiful and clean loft, tastefully decorated, well equipped, in a wonderful location. I will be returning!

    Michael2016-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • The loft space was artfully curated, well-equipped, clean and quiet. The bed was super comfy. The loft is located in a unique building, in a safe and well-situated neighbourhood, with easy access to downtown and elsewhere. While we did not meet, Jesse was accessible and responsive to our communications. I would gladly stay at Jesse’s loft again, and would happily recommend it to anyone travelling to Detroit.

    Heather2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jesse's place was perfect for our stay in Detroit. It was in a great neighborhood and it was an easy drive to all the spots we were trying to get to. The place was super hip and had a great Detroit vibe. Jesse was very helpful and made sure that we had everything we needed. We would recommend this place to anyone staying in Detroit!

    David2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great, safe location. Close to the Detroit Institute of Arts, restaurants, etc. Easy check-in and check-out. Would definitely stay here again. There is also a nice bike lane close by. We will have to bring our bikes next time.

    Nicholas2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great!

    Binchi2018-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying in this beautiful and well situated loft. Jesse was great to work with and communicated clearly. The cleaning and other fees added about $100 to our stay so consider that in addition to the base price. Lovely comfortable apartment and worth every penny.

    James2017-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • A quiet little haven near Wayne State University. Absolutely love the place, and love the audiophile setup. Will definitely look this listing up next time we head to Detroit.

Welcome to Woodbridge Farm! ...a friendly, spacious & quiet neighborhood, close to all of the happenings in/around Detroit. Enjoy the newly renovated 2nd floor of our 1884 Historic house. The apt is cozy w/ yummy architectural/design details.
WOODBRIDGE FARM: We love it here! ...very special and unique. The street is filled with Urban Pioneers and creative types; artists, musicians, gardeners, and makers. You will find that most homes sit on larger pieces of land, giving Woodbridge Farms a unique feel. Many of the houses in the area have undergone impressive renovations, and for the others the renovation is underway. We have completed the interior renovations of this home, and soon we will start renovation on the house next door, which we also own. From the outside they look a little rough, but keep coming back and you will be able to witness the transformation! US & OUR RENOVATION PROJECTS: We are longtime Detroiter’s. We are committed to the City, and we are so happy to have been a part of the revitalization of Detroit. We love old homes …and we love to renovate them! Zac is a general contractor, and Renee is an Interior Designer. Together, we have been restoring old homes in Woodbridge for the last 15 years. LOCATION: You are a short walk/drive from Detroit’s midtown area, where you will find a variety of restaurants and shopping. Both Corktown and Downtown are within a few miles. It is a very quiet neighborhood, conveniently located to all major freeways. Lots of parking. THE LISTING: Newly renovated, with the best of care. Open plan kitchen, dining, and living. King size bed with fine linens and nice pillows. The bedroom windows are opposite the sun rise. It is a very peaceful space, bright, open and fresh. We are sure you will love the apartment. It is clean and private. We have an office on the first floor that is completely separate from the space. Zac is typically there M-F 9-5 should you need to fax ,copy or have any questions. If you have any special requests we will do our best to accommodate you, if given a bit of notice. We live 2 blocks away from the apartment should anything urgent come up.
  • Lovely home, great location, had everything we needed. Zac & Renee were very accommodating and were easy to get in touch with.

    Adam2016-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a beauty! This newly remodeled apartment is cozy, comfortable, and clean. The wood floors are beautiful, and there was plenty of space. It also felt very private, and quiet. The neighborhood wasn't what we expected--a couple of vacant lots in the area, and other homes that aren't as well kept. But we felt safe in the apartment, and would love to stay again sometime!

    Erin2016-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Zac and Renee were incredible host. Their apartment (upper flat) is spacious and tidy; with an eclectic design that has a mid-century vibe. It is located only minutes from all the Detroit sports and entertainment venues. They provided great suggestions of places to visit in the newly renewed downtown Detriot District. Their friendly and loveable cat Taco made a couple of short "guest' appearances. To future guests: You will not be disappointed!!!!

    Richard2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Zac and Renee's place is in a great location for visiting all the sights and neighborhoods of Detroit. Apartment is spacious, clean, super cute, and comes with a funny cat to host you during your stay. (he doesn't live in apartment, just visits from downstairs.) Apartment is on second floor above an office and feels very safe. Highly recommend!

    Dana2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic spot in the Woodbridge neighborhood of Detroit. Beautiful flat and centrally located. If you want to explore the wonderful creative downtown scene in Detroit this is your spot.

    Michael2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • It was amazing!

    Carey2016-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful spacious apartment that looks exactly like the pictures. It's got plenty of amenities: a full kitchen, nice bathroom, a TV, dining and living areas, and even board games. Woodbridge is a really nice part of town. The house is about a 20 minute walk from a few restaurants, breweries, and shops (eg. Shinola). It was very clean and Zac & Renee were very communicative and respectful. PS. Taco the cat was adorable and friendly

    Steven2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! Everything you would want from an Airbnb experience was exemplified in this stay. From timely host responses to an amazing venue, this place had it all. I couldn't ask for more. I would definitely stay here again.

Upstairs from Slows BBQ and on the same block as Astro, Sugar House and Gold Cash Gold, this two-bedroom neighborhood inn provides an immersive, welcoming travel experience in the heart Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood.
A small-scale, design-focused Detroit inn, Honor & Folly is reminiscent of the way folks used to travel: a few beds above the village pub or restaurant. You'll be immersed in this historical neighborhood that's also at the forefront of the city's current revitalization. Featured in Martha Stewart Living, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit (made the 40 "Best Food Lovers Hotels in America" Awards), The Globe and Mail, Details Magazine, Conde Nast Traveller UK, and Afar. With a prime Corktown location, you'll be situated smack into the middle of one of the most thriving, charming and walk-able neighborhoods in the city—right across from the city’s most beautiful icon of urban decay: the old train station. Admire it up-close or enjoy the beautiful view through the big living room windows—you can even see the Ambassador Bridge! Sharing a block with Slows, Astro, Gold Cash Gold and Sugar House, Honor & Folly also offers plenty of other nearby bars, shops and restaurants within a quick stroll (I provide guests with a list of my favorite recommendations), as well as easy access to downtown. The well-appointed space is decorated with goods made by Detroit and Midwest-based designers and artisans—much of which is also for sale. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and its own bathroom, for a capacity of four people, with additional possible sleeping arrangements for kids. From time to time, Honor & Folly is used as a community space, hosting workshops or events, but you will have the space entirely to yourself during your stay. OTHER AMENITIES: outdoor balcony | local design | fully stocked cooking kitchen | potential to arrange custom catering, private dinner parties, etc.
  • We had a fabulous weekend stay at Meghan's lovely space in Corktown! The apartment is beautiful, bright, airy, clean, and overlooked Corktown's best restaurants, bars and coffee shop. The apartment was well-furnished with everything you'd need for very comfortable stay and we felt so at home. Meghan was a terrific host, sent us great articles about destinations to check out in Corktown and Detroit, and was available if we needed anything. We would definitely stay here again when next we visit Detroit! This is a perfect place from which to explore Corktown and all of the amazing offerings throughout the whole city. Thanks again, Meghan!

  • What a beautiful way to experience Detroit. Highly recommended and will be recommending to friends and family.

    Rebekah2015-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Meghan's space was fantastic - it was even more spacious than we originally thought. It was quiet at night, lively during the day and the close proximity to everything in Detroit was a huge bonus! Highly recommended!

    Ashley2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a spacious, clean, well kept apartment/flat that is perfectly situated in an area designed for travelers who enjoy local establishments that are anchoring the revitalization of this area and doing it superbly !

    John2018-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing loft space in a great neighborhood. My family of four including a 9-year-old and 12-year-old and our puppy enjoyed our stay. Lots of cool design touches in the home. The only caution I would make is this is not a home if you have toddlers or small children - open stairs that I think would be tough to gate if you had them. We had a puppy and needed to keep her in her kennel after she feel off the side of the stairs a couple times.

    Terrilyn2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a find. I was lucky to have this beautiful space available for a short business trip during the Detroit Auto Show. The "loft" is beautifully done, tasteful and comfortable. I felt the proximity to other parts of the city was great. Meghan had all the info I needed, when I needed it, so my arrival was totally painless. The location was perfect for me to discover what Detroit has to offer in areas like Corktown. In fact, great restaurant and drinking options right downstairs. A total bonus when the snow finally came, and temperatures dropped. I will be checking with Meghan first on all my return visits to Detroit. You must check it out.

    Bruce2016-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great location!! Good food right downstairs and some nice places to grab a drink. Uber or cab ride to downtown was very cheap. We had an awesome time and would definitely stay here again.

  • This is such a beautiful space. The natural light is amazing. The check in and check out procedure was so simple, it definitely caused the entire experience to have a much more natural feel. The only downside was there was limited light sources in the space after the sun goes down. Still, had a fantastic time. Kyle is a great host.

  • We truly enjoyed our stay in Detroit. The loft was beautiful and spacious and the beds were comfy and cozy. Thank you for the awesome binder of suggestions on good eats and things to do; Heidelberg Project, The Motown Museum and Katoi were definitely highlights for us. The neighbourhood was exactly what we pictured and we really liked the art and culture that came with it.

    Marcus2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Really straightforward and easy communication and check in/out process. Gorgeous loft with plenty of space and light. Would rent it again next time we're in Detroit.

Bathroom and guest towels, along with everything you will need to get ready for the town. Great Hosts, great music on the record player, and some wonderful recommendations. Really cannot ask for more!

    Angel2016-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • We used Kyle's loft for a design team outing. The loft was amazing and we will definitely use it again! No issues and the loft was exactly as shown in the pictures! Thanks Kyle for a wonderful stay!

  • Awesome stay!

    Samuel2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing place, and Kyle is an out-of-this-world host! I reserved Kyle's place for a group that I manage that was in town for an event. The place was perfect for them. Plus Kyle is an amazing host. He cares about the experience of his Airbnb-ers. He also goes above and beyond -- when we needed an extra bed he was quick to drop off an air mattress and linens. Highly recommend!

In addition to the low-key cocktail bar in the garden level, Detroit Clothing Circle clothing shop downstairs offers curated racks of clothing with styles that won't blend in with the herd.
We have a great location in Midtown Detroit, many great bars, restaurants, and shops are within walking distance. Popular nearby attractions include the DIA, MOCAD, Chartreuse, Jolly Pumpkin, Hop Cat, Motor City Brewing Works, Great Lakes Coffee and Whole Foods.
  • This apartment is awesome. It was super centrally located. It's about two blocks from a bunch of great shops, restaurants, and breweries. The art museums are within walking distance, and the neighborhood is well-traveled and vibrant. The apartment itself is as described, brand-new, and very well appointed. Highly recommended!

  • Space was clean and was well represented of the photos. Sarah had the instructions in getting into the space on her page that were very clear. Not a whole lot of communication with host which was fine, she pretty much lays out her recommendations on her profile as well.

My husband, Matt, and I have a lovely flat in Hamtramck that has been restored to its original 1920s charm. Our style is intentional and warm, and decorations include things that we have collected through the years that have meaning to us. • Matt and Meredith's place is absolutely lovely. Gorgeous, comfortable, clean, quiet, well designed space. They were so welcoming and courteous. Communication was very easy. Would highly recommend this beautiful space to couples or single folks visiting the Detroit area.

  • Beautiful place!! Very close to Downtown Detroit

    Jenae2018-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely little place in an interesting area. We really were surprised about how much we enjoyed Detroit considering internationally how much bad press the city gets. The place is super sweet and the hosts were super nice. We would recommend staying here to people visiting Detroit.

  • Matt and Meredith were welcoming hosts and made themselves available to answer questions and offer advice during our stay in Hamtramck. The flat was very clean, comfortable and equipped with nice toiletries among other conveniences. The location was ideal for us - easy access to highways, downtown Detroit, Ferndale, etc. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

    Darby2016-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, the attention to detail is present and I love the brief history of the house in the guest book. Matthew and Meredith were welcoming and the check in was very easy. Street parking right in front of the house is convenient. Coffee machine and tea for the morning was great. The bee house is very cool to watch and we even saw fireflies in the evening. The place is a quick drive to anything you are looking to to in Detroit. I would definitely come back and I do recommend their place. Thank you!

Up north at its best! Stay in a custom cabin in the middle of Rocky Top Farms, a cherry orchard. Please read this listing completely!
Custom timber-frame cabin was built by my husband, father-in-law, and me with the help from many, many friends. The little cabin is in the middle of a large cherry orchard in the heart of beautiful northern Michigan and is situated on a pond surrounded by birch trees. The love is in the details at this very special place. Climb a ladder to the romantic sleeping loft and gaze at the incredible northern night skies! Wonderful front porch! Locally made art. Amazing soapstone wood stove for cozy warmth and romantic, flickering firelight. Shared outdoor 6 person hot tub. The small kitchen is equipped with all you might need to make some wonderful meals. Fridge, sink, oven with stove top griddle, microwave. Pots, pans, mixing bowls, utensils, dishes, cups, mugs, basic oils and spices are included. OH~ and coffee maker complete with coffee. Towels, bedding and firewood are also provided. Enjoy acres of Michigan orchard, prairie, and woodlands. The north end of Torch Lake is just a couple miles away. Lake Michigan beaches are within minutes of driving. Ski resorts, breweries (can you say SHORT'S BREWING?), wineries, restaurants, farm markets are all within reach for great day trips. This property is best accessed by four- wheel drive during the winter months. You could say we are off the beaten path. This cabin can be rented in conjunction with The Treehouse at Rocky Top Farms- check it out! The Treehouse is near The Cabin, but both buildings have been designed to have a feeling of privacy. There is a wall of pine trees between the cabins. Please be reminded that this is a working orchard. You may hear ambient tractor noises at various times. You should have 4 wheel drive to access the cabin in winter- I am not joking!!! Surrounded by lakes, beaches and hiking opportunities abound! We are located 15 minutes south of Charlevoix and 20 minutes north of Elk Rapids. Bellaire (home to Short's Brewery) is 20 minutes away. Traverse City is about 30 minutes to our south. See the guidebook for a listing of our favorite spots. No public transport around here, sorry. You must have 4 wheel drive to visit the cabin in the winter.... Otherwise, prepare to hike about 1/4 mile to the cabin, and park at the barn. The water here is well- water. It isn't the city water you might be used to. It does have a yellowish cast because there are many tannins in it. The water has been tested, and is fine to drink. You may want to bring your own drinking water if are used to chlorinated water.
We love our rural neck of the woods! Surrounded by lakes, beaches and hiking opportunities abound! See the guidebook for a listing of our favorite spots. Our immediate neighbors consist of farmers, artists, a college professor, bee keepers, a massage therapist, a chef, an energy conservationist and a professional star-gazer_ truly! Our neighborhood is spread across many miles, but we are look out for each other and are friends.
  • The Little Cabin at Ricky Top Farms was everything we had hoped for. Although we weren't personally greeted by Heidi when we arrived, that was how we wanted it. We spoke on the phone and let her know we had arrived. The setting is very tranquil and private - a world apart - perfect for a weekend getaway! The cabin had all the amenities necessary while remaining cozy and rustic. We have recommended the Little Cabin to our friends and relatives.

  • We had a wonderful vacation at the cabin at Rocky Top Farms! The cabin was clean, cozy and just what we expected. We enjoyed the hot tub, playing yahtzee at the dining room table and eating biscuits with cherry butter. Thank you, Heidi!

    Erica2015-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at Heidi's cabin. It was a much needed relaxation. Everything was as described if not better. The cabin was clean and inviting and we will be back for sure!

    Casey2015-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at The Cabin at Rocky Top Farms was an absolute pleasure for my girlfriends and my first anniversary. It is easy to get to with well demarcated signs leading you through their farm along the water to the cabin. The cabin itself is perfectly size for a couple with a comfortable loft-bed, seating, a TV with DVD/BlueRay player and ipod hookup, a breakfast table, wood fire stove that heats the cabin and a fully stocked kitchen. We loved making pancakes and bacon on their grittle! Outside is a hot-tub, preheated before you arrive, bonfire pit and picnic table with a small grill. It was chillier when we traveled, but nevertheless enjoyed eating brunch out on their generous porch. We went on hikes around the area, specifically a 'naturalist' hike along lake michigan called antrim creek natural area. There was also fishing around if that interests you. Heidi herself was very responsive - she answered texted questions within minutes. SHe also leaves cute notes around the cabin that helps the bewildered traveler get comfortable. Great host! I would definitely come back again. Looking forward to a trip in the summer or deep winter!

    James2014-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We are still wondering what lead us to book only two nights at Heidi's cabin. Imagine: walks through the cherry orchard, sunset dinner on a wooden porch, bathing in the hot tub overlooking the garden, the trees, the pond, a window to the stars above, sunny breakfast on the wooden porch.... Wouldn't you like to be able to do this until the end of your days (even in winter it must be nice to sit next to the fireplace, read a good book, bake some good stuff, have a walk, a bath in the tub at a starry night...). And besides this the other most important thing which should encourage you to go there and stay is having a great and hearty host like Heidi! Thank you Heidi!!!

  • This place is everything promised and more. We will be back, it was an absolutely perfect weekend. Thanks for opening up your cabin and property to us!

  • Great setting and convenient to Charlevoix. Very quiet and relaxing, wish we had brought the binoculars to do some bird watching. Also picked some delicious sweet cherries. Highly recommended for a quiet, relaxing stay. Host is very friendly and hospitable.

    Kate2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • It's a special place with amazing views, and was beyond anything we could have expected. It was great to truly unplug and enjoy what life is really about. We hope to visit again, and thank Bruce and Karie for sharing their slice of heaven with us.

    Greg2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic time staying here. The view is stunning. We were lucky enough to see a 45 min long northern lights show the first night! The screened in porch is worth it's weight in gold on the buggy days, not to mention great for containing 1 year old girls. The cabin is very comfortable and has everything you need. Outhouse was clean and only a short walk down a cool trail along the ridge. The sauna was wonderful in the evenings. Plenty of firewood was provided. Upon arrival, a large branch had fallen at the entrance gate. Bruce and Karie came out with a chainsaw and fixed the problem asap. It was nice chatting with them, really cool people. We highly recommend this place!

Log cabin on Grand Traverse Bay in beautiful Suttons Bay. Private beach. Super kid and dog friendly (extra dog fee applies). Grill, swim, read, cook, walk, hike, bike, wine taste and more...
Beautiful, fully-equipped beachfront log cabin on West Grand Traverse Bay. Lee Point is the place to be! Sleeps at least 8 (max 12) across 3 floors with 3 full bathrooms, washer/dryer, full kitchen, decorative fireplace, etc. The Beach: 150' of private West Bay beachfront for your use. Water is shallow (great for little swimmers/dogs) for a ways out. Beach toys, a few chairs and towels provided. We suggest aqua socks for little children given our own experience! There is a fire pit on the small bluff overlooking the water as well. The house: This is a traditional log cabin that is fully outfitted (towels, linen, cookware, etc) and furnished for comfort and a Northern Michigan vacation-style. 3 floors of space to sprawl, relax and enjoy. There's a very private deck off the back of the home. Linens and towels provided. Lower level bathroom completely remodeled and updated in December 2016. The indoor fireplace is only decorative. (please note!) The upstairs jacuzzi is permanently retired and not in use. Neither of these features are advertised as perks at the cabin, so please don't be disappointed that they are not available! Both are for the safety of our guests! *We are unable to accommodate weddings or special events due to insurance liability and facility requirements. Dogs welcome with an additional $25/day fee payable 1 week before check in. Please inquire with questions!
Location: located half mile off M-22, Lee Point is a quiet street made up of beaches, houses and local neighbors & vacationers. It's friendly, private and beautiful. It's a short trip into the charming village of Suttons Bay, and very close to the hustle and bustle of Traverse City and all it has to offer. We're a stone's throw from Black Star Farms as well! The house is located directly across from the private beach. Lee Point Road is generally very calm, but does pick up in the summer due to tourists and cherry season, so it is advised that children have an adult to cross over to the beach.
  • Colleen's lakeside home was a perfect place to relax, take in the beautiful views, and explore the Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes area! She is a very accommodating and responsive host. This is our second visit and we hope to come back soon!

    William2018-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Colleen’s place was centrally located to many wineries and only a 15 min drive to Traverse City. We had a wonderful weekend!

    Julia2018-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Colleen is a terrific host and was such a good communicator. Everything was as promised, the place was comfy and a fun place to be. Plenty of hot water for showers (which has been an issue at other locations), sleeping arrangements were adequate, and plenty of room for games or reading quietly. Sitting on the deck with the view of the bay was a perfect way to relax.

    Jim2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and spacious home. Was bigger than I expected upon arrival. View and beachfront property was outstanding. Price was very reasonable. 20-25 minutes outside downtown traverse city.

    Benjamin2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Colleen was great. She responded quickly and let us know she would be available if and when needed. The cabin was utterly gorgeous and fully stocked. We arrived for friends-giving this year and ended up not needing the majority of our cooking gear. The cabin is located in a quiet neighborhood close to TC but far enough out that you feel secluded. Our group is made up of both wine and craft-beer lovers so we split up one day to go to various wineries / breweries. Everything was super close and some sites were even walkable (though probably not ideal in the dead of winter). The space was large and roomy but also intimate for our group of eight. The kitchen is HUGE and great for families or larger groups of people who enjoy cooking.

    Olivia2015-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Lovely place. Wonderful view. Incredibly nice host. Would definitely go back!!!!

    Julie2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Colleen's beautiful home exceeded our expectations. The house is extremely comfortable as well as beautiful, and provided the perfect setting for both family togetherness and privacy. Five of us visited for a family destination wedding. Sharon and Colleen checked in with us before the trip and always responded promptly and warmly any time I left a note. We hope to return soon. I am already planning various trips back so we can have another chance to enjoy the house and the beautiful surroundings.

    Carol2014-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Colleen was an amazing Host. She was always available to answer questions & concerns. Her home is fantastic. It Seems secluded although not far from many things & is very spacious with a warm, cozy atmosphere. With 3 couples who enjoy cooking we made great use of the large, well equipped kitchen space. We were favored with sunny weather & able to enjoy a moment on the beach & a lovely view. Hope very much to do it again next year. Thanks Colleen!

Floyd Gompf's cottage in Lakeside. A well equipped clean and comfortable cottage furnished with Floyd's famous furniture. Has a wood stove and really nice wrap around screen porch. There's plenty of parking. A short walk or ride to Lake Michigan Pier Ave. Beach. Warren Dunes is close by too. The house is bright and sunny and is surrounded by lots of mature trees and is located on a quaint and quiet dirt road. Two bedrooms, one has a queen size bed the other has a double. One bath with a Jaccuzzi bathtub. A clean simple well equipped kitchen, brand new stove and refrigerator. Farmers markets in Union Pier and Three Oaks on weekends. Greenbush Brewery in Sawyer. The cottage is close to many quaint small towns. Three Oaks, approximately six miles from the cabin offers antique shopping, galleries, a distillery, movie theater and several restaurants. Sawyer is home to Greenbush Brewery, and Mesa Luna a restaurant which features home grown fare, a grocery store, a clothing store in a former fire station and Sawyer Garden Shop, featuring, fresh produce, a great wine selection and gourmet foods.
  • I loved this place! Three old friends and I were looking for a little getaway in Lakeside, and Linda and Floyd's cottage was perfect. Once you pull up on the little dirt road and walk inside, you'll be basking in a really tasteful, quaint but elegant little home. There's really beautiful woodwork all over the place (I think Floyd made it all?)—it really is one of those places wherein every little touch is intentional and artistic. The enclosed wrap-around porch was super great, although it was still the tail end of winter so we didn't get to take full advantage of it. I definitely recommend this place. It's also just a short walk from the lake, and the Warren dunes are definitely worth checking out! Also, Floyd gave us a nice welcome upon arrival. I never met Linda face to face, but she was very responsive and accommodating via text messages.

    Sam2016-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great experience at Floyd's cabin and would definitely recommend it to anyone! It's a great cabin for a family or a group, near Lake Michigan and New Buffalo MI. We loved the decor/esthetic and the handmade furniture. We were pleasantly surprised to see that the living room was larger than it had seemed in the photos and enjoyed hanging out there as a group, telling stories and playing games. Overall, this cabin is a great place to bring people together!

    Naomi2015-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time at the cottage, and it was just as delightful as our first stay, a year earlier!

    Omri2015-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Will definitely suggest this place to friends and hopefully return again soon. Needed a retreat from Fire Academy training in Chicago and this place was perfect. Loved the wood burning stove with plenty of chopped wood they provided. Great eclectic and artsy feel to the decor yet still rustic in the ways I was looking for. They were very great hosts and fast at communications when I had a question. Thanks again.

    David2012-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was beautiful and relaxing, filled with everything you need. It's set on a dirt lane and is easy to take walks in the morning. It's wooded but not remote. Linda and Floyd were so gracious as hosts. We can't wait to come back again.

  • Floyd and Linda's cottage was wonderful! My boyfriend, puppy, and I were looking for a getaway from the city for the weekend and this was the perfect choice. It was cozy, convenient, and right in the middle of Harbor Country. When we arrived on Friday night around 10pm, Floyd was working in his studio. It was no problem to check in so late, which was nice since we were coming after work for the weekend. The kitchen was perfect for cooking most of our meals, and we enjoyed checking out Journeyman Distillery and Soe for some snacks and drinks. The beach is a short walk from the cottage, and the dog loved running around in the sand and barking at the water! The whole house is filled with Floyd's awesome artwork, which was a neat surprise. The beds are very cozy and the house was nice and warm after lighting a fire in the wood-burning stove in the living room. We even grooved to some Frank Sinatra which was left in the CD player! This weekend was just what the doctor ordered...a low-key, relaxing weekend in the woods. We will be back!

  • Nice place. Lovely decorations and great sight. Everything was pretty flawless except for some spider webs on outdoor stuffs like chairs. Except for that, I definitely recommend this place for perfect night by lake without any hesitation!

  • My wife and I took her family for a quick 1-night jaunt over to Holland. This house was very spacious and the location was wonderful! There is a great dock and plenty of outdoor seating right on water. There is also a very nice second-story balcony that connects through the bedrooms upstairs. It's about a 20 minute walk to Lake Michigan and a five minute walk from a local small restaurant (the Ottawa Beach in). There is also a small general story (with coffee and donuts) en route to the Lake! We had a quick stay (less than 24 hours) but it was a great and fun little trip.

  • We had a family reunion for two nights. The good part: The house location can’t be beat! It’s right on the lake and it has its own pier. It’s right by the Holland State Park which ends on Lake Michigan. The backyard is very private. It also has a great sitting room as well. The kitchen was well stocked with plates and bowls. The not so good part: The home was not very clean. We think the bed linens were not changed from all the beds. The whole house smelled very musty. The carpets were dirty. There was mildew in all the bathrooms and It may be due to the carpets in the bathrooms. Basic functionality was missing—The shower heads weren’t working well. Some handles from the bathroom sinks weren’t working properly. The water temperature was going from very hot to cold. No warm water. Bathroom doors were not locking at all. My husband killed 12 spiders in 24hrs! I feared sleeping and taking showers for the two days we stayed there.

    Neha2018-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed Harriet's lake home so much! It was perfect for our gathering, right on the water and Lake Michigan around the corner. Would love to come again!

    Ann2016-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing cottage! It is huge, lakefront, extremely well equipped and clean. The morning coffee at sunrise and the white wine at sunset on the dock...we couldn't ask for more. A few minutes drive from Lake Michigan, Holland downtown (try JP's Coffee & Expresso Bar) and a massive grocery store (D&W Fresh Markets). The communication with Harriet as well as the check-in/out were very efficient. It was by far the best we could have to start our road trip to California. Thank you again, Harriet. We will keep this one in mind for sure!

    Frederic2016-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great. Quick replies when booking. Simple instructions for entry and checking out. Large enough place for our family to spend Christmas. Great location. Close to the beach (if it were summer), hiking trails, and close enough for a trip to downtown Holland. I'll be back.

Scandinavian modern home within a wooded setting, convenient to the towns of Leland, Suttons Bay, Northport, and Lake Leelanau. Walk to lake access, hike the cherry orchards, explore local wineries, distilleries and farm markets.
The house comfortably sleeps 6 people, there are two queen beds and two twin beds. There are two full baths and a powder room. The master bath has the soaking tub while the second floor bath has a large shower. The simple euro style kitchen is well equipped for cooking and serving, complete with convection oven, gas cooktop, drawer dishwasher, and refridgerator/freezer. The windows and location gives the feeling of being in a very comfortable treehouse.
The Wayfarer is located between the neighboring home, a wooded area and cherry orchards. Within a short walk there is a very nice public access to Lake Leelanau, a great spot for daily swimming and sunsets. The public access even has a boat dock for meeting up with boating friends.
  • My family and I really enjoyed our stay at the Wayfarer Treehouse. It is just as beautiful as in the photos, and is well designed and well stocked! While it doesn't have its own private beach access on Lake Leelanau, it is central to pretty much everything on the peninsula, including Suttons Bay, Leland, Glen Arbor, Traverse City, and Sleeping Bear Dunes. Highly recommended!

  • We completely enjoyed being in Leelanau County. The house was clean and had everything we needed. We had difficulty staying warm and left early in the morning as the house was 54 degrees. Your home is adorable and in better weather would be easier to stay.

    Laura2015-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house was amazing. Great location and beautiful scenery. The house itself is nestled in a wooded area across from the lake. It's design is very modern and the layout is perfect for relaxing and great conversations with friends and family. We also used the firepit at night with its great log seats. In one day we drove to Glen Arbor, rented bikes (tandem available if you have a little one), took the path to the dunes, climbed the dunes and then 1/2 way back cooled off by swimming in the lake. We drove into Leland 10 minutes away(cute little town). Went to Vans beach and watched the sunset. Sean's home is central to a lot of activities. Loved our stay and already recommended it to our friends. We were traveling from Colorado and wanted the Lake Mich. experience. This place is it. Wish we had more than 2 days. Thanks Sean!

  • This is such a great property. The design is clean, contemporary, fresh, airy. It has plenty of place and lush trees from every window. The kitchen is well stocked , the beds incredibly comfortable and it's beautiful to sit out on the deck surrounded by the woods. A short walk to Lake Leelanau and a short drive to cute little Fishtown. It's just awesome!!!!!

    Melanie2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • I just stayed at the Wayfarer Treehouse with my family last weekend and we had the best time! The house was extremely clean with beautiful views and exactly what we were looking for. Also, Sean was the most accommodating and generous host we ever could have hoped for. I would most definitely rent this home again and highly recommend it to anyone who asks. We all had such a great time that we actually bought a Guest Book in Suttons Bay and left notes for future guests (my Aunt even wrote a poem) :)

    Maggie2015-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sean was a great host and quick to answer any questions I had about the house and community. The house was located in a great area, convenient to the whole peninsula. We loved the design and it was perfect for our two-couple group. The setting was beautiful.

Get a group together and enjoy South West Michigan Wine Country!
3 Bedrooms 1 master room with king size Sleep Number bed and master bathroom 1 Queen bedroom 1 bedroom with two twin beds Full bathroom with tub All linens and towels provided Front porch with picnic table 1/4 acre pond 20 acres of wooded and open space for your exploration
Located on a designated bike route, Hills road is one of the most scenic in the area. The house is surrounded by farmland with lots of grapes and farm stands stocked with seasonal produce. Rolling hills, lush greenery, and flowers all around. Plenty of animals to keep an eye out for - Deer, Turkeys, Fox, Turtles, Woodpeckers, Humming Birds and many others.
  • Karl was a great host! My fiancé loved the animals on site and Karl went out of his way letting us feed/pet them. The home is great, very clean and spacious with a ton of privacy. Highly recommend

  • Karl was a fantastic host. His place was more than advertised. He provided great information for things to do around town and was extremely helpful. I would highly recommend staying at Karl's place you won't be disappointed.

    Derek2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Karl was a great communicator and easy to work with. The house was perfect, exactly as described and exactly what we needed!

    Whitney2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! Plenty of space.

    Christine2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • My fiend and I wanted to test out a weekday bike tour to some of the local wineries, and Karl's house was the perfect place to have as a home base. This house is a great size for a small group, has nice finishings, comfortable bedrooms and is quite clean. It is situated such that you can do a casual 6 mile ride and hit three fabulous wineries. For more experienced cyclists, extend the radius a few miles and you can add several more wineries/breweries with a challenging hilly and fun course. The roads were safe for riding without much traffic, though the weekends might be a bit busier. Karl was a great host and prepared the fire pit, which we ended up not using but were super appreciative to have the option. His recommendations for wineries were spot on. He was available and responsive when we needed him. Note that many restaurants are not open on Mondays, so best to bring food along the ride and to prepare at the house for dinner. The kitchen is well prepared for a home cooked meal.

    Nikki2016-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Karl's "cabin" (as we were calling it) was exactly the retreat we needed and we couldn't have wished for a better host. We'll definitely stay here again when we're in MI.

    Justin2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Karl’s place was clean and perfect for our girls getaway! Karl communicated quickly and even reached out after my stay to mail back a valuable I accidentally left behind. I recommend Karl’s spot!

    Joy2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Karl’s was completely incredible. Before we even arrived Karl was so attentive answering my (many) questions, and he was very flexible and helpful. They made us feel incredibly welcome. Our stay was above and beyond what we expected, thanks guys!

  • Great little cottage! Two couples and two dogs for the weekend, and we all loved it!

    Natalie2017-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • It was a clean and cozy little(actually surprisingly roomy) place. Justin was very helpful in helping us settle in and was always a phone call or a text message away. It's very short walk(couple blocks) from the water and the town shops. Made for a great weekend getaway. Highly recommend it!

  • Cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for a party of 4. 3 min Drive into the shops, or without kids, a nice walk to the beach or shops.

  • The house was clean, beds were comfy, town was small and very easy to get around. Very nice atmosphere.

  • This was the perfect location for a Michigan getaway. Charlevoix is located halfway between Traverse City and Mackinac Island (about 1hr from each). The city itself is a low-key, quiet area with an abundance of restaurants and shops. The cottage is perfect for anywhere from 2-5 people, and Justin does a wonderful job to make sure that you are comfortable and feel welcomed.

Beautiful land, rustic, comfortable home, quiet & private! Take a hot tub at sunset looking out over property, cook in our great kitchen; have a campfire at night. Oh yeah, really nice bedrooms w/sliding glass doors. Listen to the wind thru pines.
Our four-season dwelling is on 4 acres of gardens, pines, and ponds. One small Japanese pond, and a really big pond out back which goes up and down with the river. That's the Galien River which is at the west end of the property. A very comfortable hot tub (2 seater and great jets!) is just outside one of the bedrooms on the porch with a lovely view of the land. It feels like more than 4 acres because there are blueberry fields all around and you can't see or hear any of the neighbors. We have 40 mature organic blueberry bushes ourselves which are free for the picking from July-Sept. There is a pet fee of $20/night. The home has 2 bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a Queen size bed and a small sofa bed. The other bedroom has a trundle bed with 2 twin beds that can connect or not. In the living room is a long sofa bed that folds down to become a full bed. Really comfortable. We also have two Queen size raised air beds which can be set up in the living room, in a big a 4-person tent outside in the summer, or on the porch. 2 bathrooms, one with a marble walk-in shower and the other with an old fashioned laid-back bathtub. And- a fantastic record collection of Classic Jazz and Modern Classical albums! Home has a beautiful kitchen with a big stainless steel refrigerator, great stove, lots of cooking tools and lots of space for creating great meals. Plus a few Weber BBQ's outside for grilling. All rooms have sliding glass doors looking out to the whole property. The big screen porch (14'x26') is great. We eat and even watch TV out there, which is a LEDHD TV. (Streaming available) - Or play the piano? The house is all wireless, ceiling fans in all the rooms and on porch, and air conditioning/central heat. Great for a romantic and peaceful getaway, a small wedding, honeymoon, family reunions or small retreat groups. Three Oaks is only 90 minutes from Chicago in beautiful Harbor Country, with sparkling beaches, art galleries, great restaurants, dunes and hiking trails. Sometimes we love the winter even more than the summer out here...with the cozy fireplace and tons of firewood at your disposal- or use the fire pit and have a campfire outside. You can even cross-country ski right out back and down the little slope to the river! You will not want to leave when you're here. No one does.
Since I've been here for almost 30 years, I know all my neighbors and we're all good friends. I've always felt very safe in this neighborhood. Everyone looks out for each other. (It's a good way to live.)
  • What a gorgeous place! A true gem. Everything went smoothly. Donna is great. Super comfy bed! Clean + bright. Perfect for my two day retreat. Love the land. Bonfires every night. Hot tub was perfect. Porch swing every morning. Loved eating dinner on the screened in porch. Close to the beach too! I can't wait to go back.

    Anne2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Donna's home makes for a fabulous retreat on any given weekend. She is super accommodating and was there to greet and walk us through her home. 4 of us slept comfortably with fresh linens and towels. The home is on a very quiet and quaint property, with plenty to explore. Her artistic charm really cozies up the place - especially the hot tub and wood burning fireplace! Her kitchen is stocked full of cooking gadgets and has an amazing record collection. Bonus for the men: she even has a urinal in the bathroom - highlight of the weekend! We would definitely go back when looking for a quiet getaway from the busy city. Be sure to check out Molly's Deli and the Journeyman Distillery in town.

    Chad2013-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Donna has a friendly home nestled among the fields and vineyards of SW Michigan. It faces a spacious yard with large gardens and a hiding blue cow. You'll enjoy a stay for the privacy in a large ranch home decorated with a life in the arts, We spent most of our time on the screened porch and a perfect for two hot tub. Rain or shine its a nice place to relax nestled away from the distractions of life.

    john2015-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time. This place is incredibly quiet and secluded and beautiful! Donna's home is eccentric and eclectic, and it was a great place for a relaxing "girl's weekend." There are some great places to eat and shop in the area as well. Donna is a gracious host who leaves you the space you need and stays on a trailer on the property while you are using her home.

    Erum2015-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our host was wonderful, very friendly and welcoming. We, 4 women out for a girls' weekend, were delighted by her space, very arty and cozy, very comfortable. Great kitchen, nice fireplace and the hot tub was a special treat. It was located in a beautiful part of Michigan in the country and we had a great walk. The only criticism we had was that it was advertised as having 4 beds. While it did sleep 4, there were only 3 beds. Luckily two of the women were willing to share a double bed.

    Nancy2015-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful weekend getaway for my husband and I. We loved reading and relaxing on the porch. The kitchen was great! I might have to steal the design of the kitchen wall. The hot tub was a nice way to end the evenings, and the bed was comfortable. Donna has a great eye for design, the house feels wonderful and inviting. The blueberries in the back yard and the birds in the mornings, made the stay even better. The skeeters were a little crazy but Donna did us a solid and left some bug fogger, which kept them at bay for a while. Overall we had a great time! Check out Greenbush brewery right down the street!

    Shawnee2014-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Donna has a very special place. We won't forget picking blueberries, saying good morning to the frogs, sitting by the fire pit, and all the interesting and cool touches in every nook of the house. Our dog liked it so much, he broke out of the house while we were gone and went for a joyride, then headed to Donna's trailer. She and her dog herded him back to the house. And she texted me to tell me all was well. Appreciated all her help and attention.

    Whitney2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a serene, lovely place! I came with a group of girls for a weekend and it was the perfect spot. It's so green and quiet, but close to great wineries, breweries, and the beach. The house is spacious and there's everything you need. Would definitely stay here again!!

This second- story, custom built cabin in the middle of a cherry orchard has huge windows that allow for great natural light. Polished concrete countertops and floors with radiant heat. Sleeps 6. One bath. Shared hot tub. Large decks. Basic kitchen. Please read this listing completely.
Up north at its best! The Treehouse sits on a pond among the birch and pines in a working cherry orchard. Built by my husband and me, with a whole lot of help from many friends, it clearly has love in the details. Large windows bring the daylight in and allow for dreamy star- gazing - maybe even the northern lights! Six person outdoor hot tub is shared with the cabin also on property. Locally made art. Big garden. Access to trails for hiking, groomed cross- country ski trails, and mountain biking all around the orchard and ponds. Minutes to Lake Michigan and Torch Lake beaches. The cabin makes a great getaway for couples and families. There is a sleeping loft which can sleep four and a private bedroom which sleeps two. Limited kitchen has a smart oven, countertop two burner range, microwave, sink, coffee maker, electric frying pan and refrigerator. The Treehouse can be rented in conjunction with The Cabin at Rocky Top Farms. Towels and linens are provided. You must have four- wheel drive to access the Treehouse in the winter, or plan to hike the 1/4 mile from the barn. Please note! This is a cabin and not a traditional treehouse! We don't mean to mislead with the name- The Treehouse is what we have always called it. *Please read this listing entirely!
We adore our very rural neighborhood! Just a couple miles from both Torch Lake and Lake Michigan-beaches abound! Ask us about our favorite spots. Hiking and paddling opportunities are plentiful. We are not far from XC, downhill skiing and snowboarding in the winter. Rocky Top Farms is centrally located between Traverse City and Petoskey. We are located just off 31N. Our nearest towns are Elk Rapids, Bellaire, and Charlevoix, and East Jordan. The closest villages are Torch Lake, Ellsworth, and Central Lake. There are so many things to check out while visiting- or- just laze around the farm!
  • My husband, our lab and I spent a really wonderful weekend at the cabin. I would highly recommend this stay! Heidi was very warm and hospitable from the beginning. She kept us informed throughout the weekend (i.e. it was muddy so bring boots, and when there were other people coming/going around the property which was infrequent and never once interrupted our activities). The property itself is just awesome. There are acres of land, water and a beautiful orchard only yards from the cabin door. And inside, the cabin was warm, cozy, clean and well supplied. It was our first trip through Airbnb and it couldn't have been more perfect!

    Gina2015-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Treehouse is in a beautiful location, open and lovely environment, quiet and secluded in a great natural setting. Very homelike and perfect for relaxation. Heidi was wonderfully responsive and very accommodating.

    Lauran2014-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Heidi made us feel perfectly at home before, during and after our stay. Knowing we were traveling from far away, she gave us weather and logistical updates in advance of our trip. She welcomed us to the property with open arms and told us about some of the area attractions. The treehouse was immaculate, sunny, and well-stocked. The space itself is lovingly hand-crafted, decorated with works by local artists, and full of pleasant surprises (including a heated floor). During our stay, Heidi checked in by text to make sure we had everything we needed. She offered just the right balance of privacy and personal attention to ensure that we enjoyed every minute of our stay.

    Gabrielle2016-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Heidi is an incredible host and our stay at the tree house was magical. We went for a hike, enjoyed the beautiful property, and felt right at home. I will definitely stay here again with my family. I can not imagine anyone else being able to live up the amazing and comfortable environment Heidi has created. Love to you Heidi! Thanks for a great trip!!

    Kristine2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Cabin was beautiful. Heidi was generous and gracious. So happy I stayed!

    Kelley2015-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Heidi made everything so easy and enjoyable. We loved the treehouse and the lad back feeling at the farm! Out stay was very restful, just what we needed. Heidi was also very helpful sharing their experience building the cabins and using Airbnb, which will be useful as we build our cabin and are thinking about using Airbnb as well.

    Lisa2016-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was beautiful and it had everything we needed. There was stuff to do on a rainy day, and it was a short drive from town so we could explore.

    Nicholas2015-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I could not have had a better get-away than the one we experienced at The Treehouse at Rocky Top Farms!! The cabin was the perfect mix of rustic and modern touches! It had everything we needed (and more), and we cannot wait to go back. We used the peaceful cabin and surrounds as a refuge from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. It's the perfect location as a "home-base" for visiting many Up North towns. We visited Traverse City, Petoskey, Torch Lake, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Glen Haven/Glen Arbor, we wine tasted the Leelanau Peninsula, boated Lake Charlevoix, and enjoyed many romantic dinners. Thank you Heidi for sharing the Treehouse with us!

Very clean. Simply and tastefully furnished. Plenty of natural light, wood flooring. One bedroom with queen-size bed. Sofa (not a pull-out) in the sitting room can provide extra sleep space. No kitchen, but space is furnished with a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster. Flat-screen TV. Cable and wifi access. Please note the Loft is above our detached garage and is accessed via two short flights of stairs.
Please visit the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce website for more information on the area.
  • My son and I had a wonderful time! The pictures did not do it justice. It was the cutest place we have stayed to date (we travel several times a year). My son gave it a HUGE thumbs up. We spent the days snowboarding and the evenings walking around town and settling in with a board games and movies. While I understand the convenience of staying at the resort this is such a better option all around. We are very much looking forward to going back! Y&A

  • Andrea's loft was relaxing, clean, and beautifully designed. It was very close to downtown and the lake. Andrea was delightful and so helpful. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Thanks, Andrea!

  • This little cottage was great! The space was really clean and well kept. The neighborhood was quite and beautiful; just a 10 minute walk to downtown Petoskey. Andrea was extremely personable and flexible. We need to checkin later than expected and she was happy to make the adjustment. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to any couple or small family looking for a quite get away in the area.

    Michael2014-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • What a great experience. Andrea is a perfect host and the accommodations were excellent. We will certainly come back whenever we are back in Petoskey. I cannot say enough good things about our stay, you get the picture, just wonderful!. GO BLUE!!!

  • Staying in Andre's loft was so lovely. The space itself is gorgeous, clean, and had amazing natural light (and Jenga!). The location was so convenient. Getting into town was a quick 10 minute walk downhill. We will definitely be keeping this on our list of places to stay Up North!

    Heather2015-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • We were thrilled with our first Airbnb experience and hope our future ones are as perfect! Andrea was a great host, providing a clean, private and homey space during our stay. The location is ideal for walking downtown and close to the Little Traverse Wheelway for biking. Andrea was easy to communicate with and flexible. I would not hesitate to stay at her loft again in the future!

    Sonya2015-09-23T00:00:00Z

Welcome to Esther House. We took a 1930's catalog vacation cabin and turned it into an inviting 2 bedroom retreat home. We are steps to the Spring Lake Beach and Village, bike paths, a 2.5 mile bike or car ride to the beaches of Grand Haven.
This charming, fully rehabbed 2 bedroom home makes for the perfect getaway, and the best alternative to a Hotel/Motel in the area. Although the footprint of Esther house is small, we offer 1100 sq ft of comfort over the basement, main level and lofted bedroom, designed with easy and comfortable living in mind. A fully stocked custom kitchen with high-end appliances, granite breakfast bar and an open plan to the cozy living/dining room. Small dinette table seats four. The living room has a comfortable sofa, reading chair and 42" TV. No cable, but its hooked up to stream all your favorites. In the basement we have a brand new bedroom with a queen sized bed, nightstands and dresser. A separate utility area with washer/dryer. Nice and quite fenced back yard with a cement patio.
The home is located in historic Strawberry Pointe area of Spring Lake, Michigan. The area is littered with these small cabins that once served as hunting and fishing vacation homes in the 30's, 40's and 50's. We are walking distance to the Spring Lake public beach, the expansive bike trails of the area and to the Village Baker (a must visit for great baked goods, fantastic brunch and dinners, as well as a great cup of coffee!!)
  • Very cute and cozy! very clean and appealing design!

    Daniel2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Esther House was clean and updated with every detail in mind. The home is just a few blocks from the Village Baker, a great spot to grab breakfast, and a short drive from downtown Grand Haven and the Hoffmaster State Park. We had a wonderful time enjoying everything the area had to offer and enjoyed returning to the house each day.

  • Super cute, had so much fun!

  • We would definitely stay at this charming home again. It was the perfect place for a last-minute getaway. The house is very clean and functional, the bed was comfy, and the bathroom is nicely updated. We enjoyed the cider at nearby VanderMill, as well as Oddside Ales and the public beach in Grand Haven. Great location, lots to do.

    Steve2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Esther House was just what we needed. Quaint, quiet and yet with all of the necessities. We were looking for a place to call "home" for a few days and this Spring Lake house was perfect. We didn't want to leave! We will not only consider this property again, but also others Frederick offers. No surprises. He has done an outstanding job updating Esther House. Enjoy!

  • We had a great time staying at this beautiful home. It reminded my new husband and I a great deal of how we are hoping to decorate our own home. We were close to great food and great attractions with beautiful scenery. I would highly recommend staying here!

  • Description of this home tells you exactly what to expect. It is small, but it is cozy and very comfortable. Location is wonderful and we really enjoyed our stay.

    Joanie2018-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Frederick's place with my friend for a girls weekend. We were out and about during the day and it was nice to come home to the house after a busy, active day. The house was very clean and looks just like the photos. We recommended it to friends who were looking for a place that way for their Memorial Day trip. Great space and. It too far of a drive to Holland or Grand Rapids, and very close to Grand Haven.

Our place is secluded and along a private road - but shopping restaurants and highway for commute are only 10 minutes away. Only 1/2 hour -45 minutes to Downtown Ann Arbor and University of Michigan. Our Private Lake (no public launch) is GREAT for fishing, swimming, kayak and canoeing. Birds and wildlife abound. Peace and quiet given and expected! Available all year round - in the winter there is skiing nearby - either cross country or downhill. Four bedroom and 4 full baths, fireplace, open floorplan with open kitchen/great room with vaulted ceiling, wrap-around deck and wrap around patio off walk-out finished basement. Fully furnished and well-appointed kitchen. Laundry room, game room stocked with card and board games, bookshelves full of books, 2 TVs with DVD players and large movie collection (no cable TV and NO INTERNET service unless you bring your own hotspot via cell phone.) We also have a firepit with sit-upon logs for roasting marshmallows or weenies.. We have a shore area, 2 rowboats, a 4-person paddleboat, and a 2-person kayak for exploring the private 82-acre lake.
Rural location for those wishing for a place "off the beaten path" and surrounded by nature. I do have neighbors, but am on almost 2 acres nestled into the side of a hill, along a private road, with 200ft lakefront on small sleepy lake. Our little private road is paved, but narrow. No parking on the street, plenty of parking in my long driveway, 4-6 cars easily.
  • Our stay was very pleasant. We had a great time relaxing and enjoying the lake.

  • After a long week of work in Detroit, a few friends, colleagues and I rented this place for the weekend and it was perfect. Secluded, but not far from any amenities, with a quiet lake which was easy to swim in or enjoy from the lawn and deck. One of the big reasons we booked the place was because of the lake toys that were included in the stay (kayaks, canoes, paddleboats)! We were sad initially not to have the option to have a power boat, but didn't miss it at all once we were there. The fire pit, hammock, dock, fully-stocked kitchen, comfy beds, and adirondack chairs were all great surprises once we settled in as well. Susan was easy to communicate with and very helpful. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

  • Susan was a great host. I didn't need to call her during my stay but the days leading to my stay she responded in a timely manner to all my questions. Her house was clean and inviting. The pictures posted does not do the home any justice. We enjoyed our stay greatly. The location was great and the view of the lake was amazing.

    Ivory2015-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • The house was on a very private and quiet lake . Susan was great with communication and really helped show us around and explain things in the home. The kitchen was well supplied . The lower floor did have a musty odor and the dehumidifiers had to be emptied often.

    Margaret2018-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a wonderful, kld-friendly house! Our 4-, 5-, and 7-year-old loved paddling in the lake and playing with the board games and other children's toys in the home. And, it was so nice to be someplace with out internet or TV for a couple of days—made it a very memorable time with family. The host is very responsive and helpful if you have any concerns during your stay. Highly recommend!

  • We had a great stay at Susan's cottage. The house and property were really nice and peaceful, and Susan was friendly and very helpful (and made some terrific homemade salsa for us). It's the perfect place for weekend away, or in our case, a weekend UM reunion. Not far from Ann Arbor, but worth the drive for the beautiful setting.

    Ben2013-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • We truly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful Lakefront Cottage. We enjoyed walking by the private lake and sitting on the benches in close to its edge. Also Yoga in the huge backyard was wonderful. We also loved the beautiful trees surrounding the property. The beds were comfortable and the house was large enough to accomodate our group with extra space. The earthy feel to the property was much desired and our guest coming from various cities enjoyed living in the "country" for a few days. Our cook enjoyed the kitchen and its ammenities and I must say the Salsa that Susan gifted our group was delicious. We went and bought Blue Corn Chips and the rest was history. Highly recommended!

  • We just got home from an amazing trip! A total of 3 families (6 adults and 7 kiddos under age 4) wanted to get together and go 'glamping.' We've never used AirBnB before and didn't know what to expect but Susan exceeded every expectation possible. We didn't know if we needed to pack paper towels, soap, salt etc and she let me know (promptly after emailing her with questions) that the place was stocked... and she wasn't kidding. Any kitchen appliance you would need is there, along with any type of entertainment you might need (anything from DVDs to toys for kiddos to marshmallow roasting supplies to lawn darts etc). There are TONS of chairs and places to sit/relax and everyone had a bed. She filled up the propane tanks for the grill and let us use the boats on the lake. We brought our own slip and slide equipment and bought water guns from a Walmart (15 min away) for some amazing summer fun, but we really didn't even need to do that (but that hill behind the house was begging for a mega slip and slide)! The weather was amazing, which I'm sure helped our experience, but we would have been plenty cozy if we were rained 'in' with lots to do on the inside too. She left us some organic salsa and made us a fire when we checked in. Good times. Will DEFINITELY come back! Thanks Susan!!!

This private studio suite acquires the best area of our 100+ year old house. A modified parlor and sunroom with traditional glass windows overlook historic Heritage Hill. Minutes from downtown, you'll be able to experience the best of Grand Rapids!
Our private studio suite is located within what we jokingly call the "East Wing" of our 100+ year old home. It has its own front door and is locked off from the rest of the house, so you'll be able to rest at ease knowing that you won't be sharing with others. Traditional glass windows wrap around the sunroom, creating a perfect place to drink coffee in the morning and sit on the couch while the sun sets. The suite offers a full kitchen and bathroom with a queen size bed.
Our neighborhood is part of the historical Heritage Hill district of Grand Rapids. Home owners in this area go to great lengths to keep up to code to preserve the aesthetics of this old neighborhood. A half block away is the Meyer May House designed by Frank Llyod Wright and is considered Michigan's Prairie masterpiece.
  • Cody's studio suite is exactly as shown in photos and listed online...very cosy and welcoming. I was able to work in the sunny and bright front room, heat up food in the kitchen and relax/read in the bedroom area. Located close to downtown with easy access to anything you could want. I would definitely want to stay here again when visiting Grand Rapids.

  • Great studio apartment, beautiful, and close to town. Perfect for a weekend getaway!

    Annie2016-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • The listing is accurate, however, i was not aware that the walls that connect this apartment to the main house are rather thin & out of respect for the host, we found ourselves making an effort to be extra quite. The sunroom is great! the only issue is the heating.... it is not consistent & at a comfortable temperature in the bedroom, the sunroom is very cold. and if you make the sunroom comfortable, the bedroom is too warm. for me, this is an issue since i do like low temps, never turned up the heating too much to enjoy the sunroom. as a host, although very friendly, cody did not respond to messages and made certain promises that he did not come through with. my stay was long, 3 weeks. i had come in for surgery. during that time my sheets were only washed once and due to the lack of communication and out of frustration, my sister and care taker went to wash our sheets at a laundry mat. also, there is no furniture to properly unpack. overall, location is great. i enjoyed that part of town, seems hip & cool pubs close by. i choose it mainly because of the amount of lighting from those windows, it is beautiful having the sunlight come in although the proximity to the neighbors is close. hands down recommend for a short stay.

    carmen2015-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable spot though we didn't use it off street parking was available. Very quiet in the residence and neighborhood. Walking distance to restaurants and cultural spots.

    Rob2016-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place and in a great spot! Easy walk to Wealthy St. This home is also well furnished and has everything you could need during your stay. Cody responded to my messages and was very helpful. If you want to explore the Heritage Hill neighborhood of Grand Rapids, this is a great place to stay.

  • As someone who travels a lot for work and stays in hotels three nights a week I wasn't looking forward to another hotel room on our short visit to Grand Rapids. The idea of staying in a home environment was appealing to me so we gave it a try. We couldn't be any happier with our decision to stay at Cody's place. The location was excellent and everything had been taken care of ahead of time. Cody even had phone chargers set aside incase we had forgotten our own. I highly recommend this location. We already plan to use Cody again on our next trip to GR.

    Sarah2016-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Cody for our stay in your lovely suite and beautiful city. This AIRBNB is exactly as advertised and suited my sister and I just perfectly. We were definitely in the absolutely nicest part of town and did not use our car at all as the downtown core was a mere 20 minute walk. We would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for a place in GR.

  • A 7 minute drive from downtown Suttons Bay took us to an absolutely amazing destination for our week's vacation. The property was peaceful and extremely well maintained, overlooking cherry orchards and Lake Michigan in the background. The home itself was remarkable. The kitchen was well appointed and made for a fun, open gathering spot. The living room was very comfortable and relaxing. The bedrooms and baths were very clean and well decorated. The owner obviously went to great detail to ensure his guests were comfortable and happy, and we were that and more! Thanks for our wonderful accommodations, we will definitely be back!!

  • Our family stayed at the modern farmhouse during my daughter's wedding weekend. I must say that it was perfect. Sean thought of everything when he restored the farmhouse. The kitchen was well supplied. He even had a mandolin. The beds and linens were comfortable. Ample reading material was available. A nice sound system, in my uninformed view, added to the ambiance of the open floor plan. A television was in the room in the basement, but I can't say that we ever turned it on. The surrounding land is beautiful. Our family enjoyed the farm fresh eggs. We would definitely return if our family travels to the area again.

    Karen2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was our third stay at the Farmhouse, the first in the Summer and it was just as amazing and beautiful as always! The setting, landscape, views and cool Lake Michigan breeze coming over the top of the hill make this property perfect and magical in the Summer. Sean has a great eye for the aesthetic while being simple and super functional. Hands down our favorite property in Leelanau County - it never disappoints!

    Adam2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • We can't wait to stay at this place again! We were recommended this listing by a family member, but no one could give this house the justice it deserves. It is absolutely beautiful. The location is perfect. Close enough to town, but far enough away to give you your own private oasis. Sean was so available with any questions and so very kind and accomendating. Thanks for sharing your home, Sean!

    Deborah2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • My cousins and I spent a four day weekend at the farmhouse. We could not have enjoyed the house and all the amenities in it more! The attention to detail that Sean has paid to this property is amazing. This house is SO cozy! You will not be disappointed if you decide to book your getaway here! So many delicious restaurants and winery's close by that you won't be wanting for anything except for more time spent here!!! Could not have asked for an easier airbnb experience! Thanks again!

    Becki2015-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The house and property are magical. We loved our stay!

    Maggie2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • The house is everything you could ask for in a remote, quiet area. We had a group staying over New Years and it was the perfect home for a large party. The sauna was great and I stayed in the room with the claw foot tub, which was extra roomy and relaxing. Sarah, Sean's main contact for the home, was extremely fast in responding to any questions we had. Since it was very cold and snowing the entire time we were there, we didn't get to experiment the backyard but did enjoy the wood-burning stove, as it heated the place quickly. All in all, a perfect stay!

    Ryan2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Sean's wonderful home was by far beyond what we dreamed it would be. The house is beautiful and and the surrounding landscape pristine, the whole time we were staying there probably one car drove by the house. We were six adults and two kids and the house is spacious enough to ensure a relaxing stay even when everybody prefers to stay inside. The kitchen is equipped to make even the most demanding cook happy, it has an additional oven in the basement and state of the art appliances in the main kitchen. We prepared a lot of meals together in this spacious kitchen and enjoyed so much hanging out in front of the wood burning stove on the sofa or the fire pit outside. The interior is beautiful and Sean did a tremendous job updating this farmhouse, every detail is very well made. Now we all dream of living in a house like this!

The Grand Mere Coach House is in an eclectic neighborhood surrounded by Lake Michigan, small lakes, and sand dunes. Grand Mere Park is a year around beautiful place for walking, cross country skiing, and sledding. The family room and kitchen face Lake Michigan with lots of windows. The house has a queen bedroom, queen pullout in family room, and laundry. A bird feeder adds to the charm. There is also a HOT TUB located on the back patio directly on Lake Michigan, behind the main house.
The coach house is on the Lake with a view of Lake Michigan and normally a beach. It has a full kitchen a living room with a queen pullout and a queen bedroom and bath. Grand Mere State Park is very close containing 600 acres of dunes, trails and several thousand feet of beach. Note: Lake Michigan is currently at very high levels and we have to access the beach from the public beach 100' to the south. The beach is still walkable all of the way to the south into the state park.
Grand Mere is an eclectic neighborhood in between Lake Michigan and 2 inland lakes. Grand Mere State Park containing 600 acres of lakes and dunes is next (website hidden). Joseph, New Buffalo, and wine country are within 15 minutes.

  • Great lil spot. Right on water which is way cool. Hot tub is clutch. Its right behind his house (he was out of country in Berlin) which was nice privacy, not sure how we would have felt if he was home. But very clean, well taken care of. Lacking basic cooking ingredients/items (no oil, or aluminum foil or things like that). But all cookware was great. Bed is nice. Only netflix but was nice. Overall great spot!

    Quinn2016-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks John for the lovely space and for being a great host. In the guest house we had a beautiful view of the lake, a comfortable bed, and a great and well-stocked kitchen. I spent every morning doing yoga on the beach and we went swimming every day. Very relaxing!

    Laura2015-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing. We came from Chicago and it was the perfect get away from the city! It is right on the beach and also has very easy access to a dunes hiking trail. We were able to watch the sunset over the lake while in the hot tub! John was in Berlin but still called to check in on us- a great host. Place was clean and perfect for two of us. We had total privacy, as no neighbors around this weekend but I imagine that the neighborhood may be a bit busier in the summer. Hope to stay here again soon!

    Katie2016-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great! The house is clean and bright, the view is amazing and the hot tub and fire pit made it even better. Thanks John!

    Jill2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house is clean and has everything we needed, its a bit small for four, but would be perfect for a couple. Jacuzzi is great, only a bit cold at this time of the season, but the view worth it, we enjoyed our stay in general.

    Jinghua2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • John's place and hospitality exceeded our expectations. He provided detailed accommodations for anything we wanted to do or explore in the area as well as things we needed right in his place. The coach house was a perfect size providing us with the comfort and warmth we were looking for. Watching the beautiful sunset while relaxing in the hot tub was icing on the cake. We will definitely be visiting again in the future.

    Katie2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking at the pictures and thinking you'd like to stay here, then you'd be right. This is one case where the pictures are not deceiving and you get what you're expecting. I loved the location (watching the sunset on Lake Michigan was nice). The place was clean, and nice, and well appointed. John's communication was excellent, and told us all we needed to know before arriving. If you're looking for a nice little place to stay with beach access, I can't recommend this one highly enough.

The perfect home for a laid back group of friends, couples or a family to stay with all the comforts of being at home. In the morning, grab treats from the neighborhood bakery, Common Good, and plan your day exploring hiking trails, beaches, craft breweries and world-class wineries. Grab bikes and ride the 1.3 miles to Downtown Traverse City and West Bay to enjoy everything that is great about Northern Michigan: shops, views, dining, drinks, and more!
My home is your home for your stay. Your space includes 3 quaintly decorated bedrooms with empty closets for storage and plenty of space to settle in for your stay. The kicthen, dining room and living room have been recently updated and include all the essentials from home plus lots of unique details from my travels. The lower unit gym includes a new treadmill, free weights, bench and space for yoga.
Our neighborhood is called, "SoFo" because it is the area in town Traverse City south of 14th Street. Located at the edge of a quiet residential area with a grocery store, ice cream shop, whiskey tasting room, brewery, bagel shop, party store and some simple take out places: sushi, pizza, Chinese and sandwiches. We're only 4 blocks to Old Town and 1 miles to Downtown Traverse City.
  • We had a great stay at Marta's place! The house was very stylish and comfortable. It was great to be able to bring our dog. The bikes were an easy ride to downtown Traverse City and fun way to tour. TC is such a cool town. Lots of interesting places. Marta offered lots of extras from the bikes to beach accessories. Marta was very helpful with recommendations and easy to communicate with. I would definitely recommend Marta's place and would stay there again!

  • My sister and I are T.C. natives that have since relocated out of state. We've always wanted to see what it was like to live downtown. We had such a blast during our short stay. A cute stylish clean home. Easy check in and great communication. We loved having access to the bikes, which we road all over downtown. Such a fun place that we'd love to stay at again sometime.

  • Marta has such a super place! Everything we needed was there, her bikes were great to scoot around town with, and the place had a comfortable style that we enjoyed immensely. She was very responsive to any messages and was very generous with suggestions and a little extra use of the cadre of bicycles in her garage. Lots of fun, super relaxing, just great.

  • We enjoyed a wonderful time in this nice clean house conveniently located close to downtown TC. We were in town with college friends and had a great evening playing games after a fun day exploring the area wineries. The host was friendly, communicative, and helpful with recommendations for restaurants in the area.

    Debbie2018-04-19T00:00:00Z

  • We had a great time staying at the SoFo House! The space was beautifully decorated and Marta was very responsive to any questions we had. Heart of Downtown TC on Union Street at the corner of Union and State! This Rustic Modern Loft is located just behind front street, only a block from the beach and everything that downtown Traverse City has to offer. Restaurants, festivals, coffee shops, movie theaters, you name it.
This iconic 130 year old building was once home to a printing press. Its towering brick walls stand 12 feet tall and were hand made using clay that is unmistakable to our area, from the waters of Cedar Lake just west of Downtown. The tasteful renovation included the restoration of the original old growth maple floors throughout, plus the repurposing of historic doors, windows, fixtures, and local barn wood beams and boards, as well as many custom pieces from local artisans.
This block is in the heart of downtown, set less than a block behind Front Street on Union. Multiple restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and all sorts of retail are within just a few steps out the door.
  • Great location, beautiful room, perfect location for visiting Traverse City and be within walking distance to most places downtown.

The loft is in a perfect location, parking was easy to find and not far from the place. The loft was very clean and the decor is beautiful. I really enjoyed my short stay. Would love to come back and would highly recommend. Thanks

  • Saburi was an amazing host. When we arrived there was someone parked in our reserved parking spot Saburi came down immediately and offered to park in public parking and let us take his spot while he sorted it all out. He was very quick to respond to any questions we had as well. The loft was beautiful my girlfriend is still raving about the the shower lol. It was pretty amazing. Location is perfect right downtown with several restauants and shops within walking distance. I would highly recommend checking this place out.

  • Spending even just a night at the Hanuman's Cabin on the Path was an awesome experience! Mully and Deb were gracious hosts that kindly welcomed us into their cabin and even provided a delicious breakfast. It seemed if no detail was forgotten. We will definitely spend more time at the Cabin since it is close to so many fun wineries while still offering some peace and quiet that just isn't found many other places.

  • Deb and Mully were wonderful hosts and felt like the kind of people we could easily whittle away lots of time chatting with. The house is very charming and very quiet, a great place to read or write or take a nap. The trail runs right alongside and takes you to any number of scenic vistas of lakes, fall colors, wetlands, etc. For breakfast we had fresh apples, honeycrisp apple cider, corn pancakes loaded with fresh kernels, bacon and strong coffee. It sucked having to leave.

    Sven2014-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Spending the night at Mully and Deb's was such a treat- beautifully decorated cabin, warm woodstove, deep forest with endless paths to walk, so very quiet. It's an oasis. Mully and Deb delivered the most scrumptious breakfast. Their attention to detail shows at every turn. I'll definitely plan to return!

    Carol2016-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • The most relaxing time I've had in awhile. Mully and Deb were the greatest, the food was absolutely wonderful and the cabin was so peaceful. The hiking trails were literally a few steps from your front door and the lake was just across the street. Couldn't have asked for a better trip. Will definitely be back.

    Julijana2014-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Mully and Deb are perfect hosts and instantly made us feel welcome. The cabin is rustic and very well cared for. The surroundings are quiet, private and lush. Our breakfast was delicious and our stay was a relaxing get away. Our experience was better than we could have imagined. A welcome respite that we are truly grateful for.

    Cheryl2015-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is exactly what we were hoping for... a secluded cabin with a built-in wood-stove for building a fire. We felt close to nature and just had a wonderful time, and we didn't need electricity at all... it was even warm enough for the winter, although you'll have to tend to the fire and keep it going. Mully and Deb were wonderful and accommodating hosts and even brought us dinner and breakfast, which were delicious!

    Daniel2013-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Mully and Deb are very kind souls! I would stay here again in a heart beat! I got in a car accident on my way to their cabin (unfortunately) and they were more than generous with giving my remedies to help. The cabin is a beautiful little cozy abode!

Me, my husband, my in-laws, and my two children spent five nights at Jack’s place, and we created many great memories around his dining room table after preparing food using his state-of-the-art cooktop. Most afternoons we took a chilly walk on the path by the lake, and enjoyed the wildlife (deer and birds) that would wander into the yard throughout the day. I don’t have a lot of experience using AirBnB, and Jack has definitely set the bar very high for both timely communication and thoughtful touches and amenities in his home. If you are looking for a quiet spot conveniently located near the University of Michigan and downtown Ann Arbor Jack’s place should top your list. Thanks, Jack!” Alyssa

  • Had a great second visit here. Plenty of room for four people, beautiful setting, well equipped kitchen, and Jack was very helpful with any questions. Wonderful place to walk and enjoy the scenery. Stocked with essentials so easy to feel right at home. Would definitely come back!

  • We rented this house so we could converge and reconnect with our adult children as they were able. The house was beautiful and perfect for that. We used the kayaks, went for walks, played games and shared meals together. We spent several evenings enjoying the view and laughing together as we conquered a tricky puzzle (which we left behind - with all of the pieces). The views from the house are lovely. The property is a short drive (or Uber) to downtown as well as many parks and activities surrounding the Huron River. We enjoyed them all. Jack is a very thoughtful host and was quick to respond to our questions or needs. With children living in Ann Arbor, we will definitely be back. Thank you, Jack!

    Suzanna2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • My family loved staying at Jack’s place. It is bright, airy & spacious. We never tired of the view. We only wished “Spring had Sprung” before we arrived. It was a bit chilly during our stay. We were in town for my son’s graduation from University of Michigan. The house is in a remote area of Ann Arbor which is a reasonable distance from campus and offered us a peaceful retreat. The beds were very comfortable, and high quality bedding & linens were provided. The kitchen has everything you need. Jack was a gracious host who responded to all of my inquiries promptly, and went above & beyond by providing us with excellent coffee, water, yogurt, granola & fruit. My only regret is not finding Jack’s place years ago!

    Debra2018-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • I would strongly recommend this house for anyone visiting the Ann Arbor - East Lansing corridor. The house is an amazing house and Jack is a super and very gracious host.

    Scott2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jack was a terrific host. He went over and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Even though the power was out because of a storm, I didn't feel uncomfortable when entering the dark house. He helped us with what we needed in a situation that couldn't be helped. Thanks so much, Jack! You have a beautiful home and we are grateful you would share it with us.

    Linna2016-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Jack’s place! He was totally accessible and the house was perfect for our family stay. Very cool perk of watching the ice fishermen and hockey players on the frozen lake!

    Sarah2018-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful lake house. Jack was a wonderful host. He was very nice and very helpful. When I arrived, he greeted me with a bottle of wine, then gave me a tour of the house. He showed me where everything was and also had a manual there that tell you how to work the television and the stereo system ( great speakers by the way)! This house is absolutely beautiful. The pictures that are posted doesn't do the house any justice at all. The view of the lake that's right out back is breathtaking. The house is huge, plenty of space, big comfortable beds. If you like art, there are beautiful paintings throughout the house. Its activities you can do there as well, it's a trail that you can walk and you can go kayaking too!!! I really enjoyed my stay and I will definitely be going back!!!

    Lauren2016-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Jack's lake house. The house was clean and beautifully decorated. The beds were comfy, the house contained everything we could have needed, and the view of the lake was beautiful. The children in our party enjoyed playing in the large backyard and there is a trail around the lake leading to a lovely playground. Kayaks were also available to enjoy the lake. We hosted a very small party for my husband's birthday (with permission) and the house was a perfect backdrop for a nice summer evening. Jack was a very gracious host and made communication and check in very simple and easy. We cannot wait to return for another stay!

It can also be a bit noisy if windows are open and no fans or ac running.
  • We loved the hot tub and proximity to Ski resorts.

  • Sally is a wonderful host! She is very responsive, pleasant, and flexible with our needs. We arrived to fresh flowers inside, and outside on the patio - that was a nice touch. The cottage is clean and comfortable. The location is convenient for exploring this beautiful part of Michigan. I like that it is pet friendly and has a nice yard. Great patio with comfortable furniture, nice place to relax.

    Amy2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Sally's cottage. We were greeted warmly and Sally had a lot of good information for us on the kayaking that we had planned on doing. The house was very clean and just what we needed for our long weekend getaway. We enjoyed the adorable patio area and the special touches that Sally had including twinkle lights and fresh flowers placed there upon our arrival. It was very helpful that Sally allowed us the use of her kayaks and had a smaller kayak available for our 8 year old to use. The transport to the river was great and her son was so very helpful and even offered to guide us during our river trip. All-in-all, it was a great stay in a great little cottage that offered everything we needed and expected.

    Sheri2016-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Sally was very kind, and ready to help us with any questions or concerns we might have. We really enjoyed our stay in Boyne City, and the convenience of being close to town. She was always near her phone and responded to texts and messages very quickly. The cottage was very clean and tidy, and the gas fireplace was lit and ready for us when we got in. We didn't get a chance to meet Sally (this was our honeymoon and we just wanted some alone time, which Sally was very respectful of), but through our messaging I found her to be very friendly and a great host. The cottage is very close to a gas station and a few restaurants, and just a few minutes drive away from a grocery store, a hiking trail, and downtown shopping (depending the direction you drive). Overall we really enjoyed our stay! The only complaint that we had was the sound from cars driving by on the road down the hill made it a little hard for me to sleep. A few earplugs and this would not have been a concern at all ( I am a very light sleeper, and have to wear earplugs most nights to fall asleep, even at home. I only mention this in case other interested parties are light sleepers like me).

    Nicole2016-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding place to get away. The quick responses and cleanliness of the place made for an exceptional getaway. Sally is very deserving of her top ratings. I would recommend her as a host to anyone.

  • Great cottage for a great price

    Jaclyn2017-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Sally is a great hostess and her place is darling! She provided robes and stocking hats for the hot tub. She made herself available to us but never intrusive. It was a perfect get away for my husband and I...we don’t ski...we just wanted a cozy place to relax and enjoy each other’s company. It was perfect!

    Dana2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sally was a great host! Great with communication and over the top hospitality. Contrary to a review that suggested this place is not like the (Website hidden by Airbnb) very much is! Definitely nicer than some of the other cottages I've stayed in up north, with far more amenities. Clean, well-stocked, and there's plenty to do with the fire, hot tub, and grill as well as restaurants being within walking distance.

  • Property manager lives next door, and he was extremely helpful. Justin was very responsive to questions and made sure we were taken care of. Impeccably clean. Beautiful views. Only minus: wish there was lake access for kiddos (especially because there's not good public access on Stone or nearby Diamond lake). Justin notified us about this via email prior and gave us directions to one 20 minutes away.

    John2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Justin was very responsive to the few minor questions I had. The place is very nice and well kept. It is a secluded location on the lake and I enjoyed being able to sit out back and just relax as I gazed on the water. There are not a lot of restaurants in Cassopolis so the well equipped kitchen was very welcome. I will be booking again next year when I return.

    Virgil2018-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Super sweet spot that was absolutely perfect for our family we were in the area for a wedding and enjoyed some of the local recommendations that Justin made or restaurants and local shops. We were super surprised that they had set up a crib and had a high chair available which I didn’t expect.

    Amy2018-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great updated home with great views of the lake. A nice neighbor gave my son a rubber worm to fish with. It was a nice getaway for our family and in-laws spent kayaking and fishing and playing games indoors and out. And did I mention this house has great views?

    Michael2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Justin was easy to get ahold of and his home is lovely! The lake is beautiful and we had a great time playing lawn games and relaxing on the deck. We also spent an afternoon at a nearby orchard that Justin recommended and had a lovely time picking raspberries and apples. It was a great trip!

  • This is a great place to stay if looking for a great getaway in a comfortable house with a quiet and scenic location. The house is right on the lake and offers great lake views right out the window. It was very relaxing to sit on the back deck and enjoy the beautiful summer days. Justin had everything needed in the house to make the stay welcoming, including a variety of indoor and outdoor games. We were with a toddler and the house was also very child friendly. Justin is a great host and was very quick to communicate with us and address any questions or issues. Would gladly stay there again!

  • Kathy's place was clean, quiet, and had everything I needed for my stay. Entry in and out was easy but secure.

    Christine2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our only disappointment about staying at Kathy's place was not being able to stay longer. We had to find another place for our last night in Metro Detroit because it was already booked. After spending two nights there, we now know why vacancies are hard to find. The studio unit, attached to her house with a separate entrance, has been carefully designed with comfort in mind. Kathy's attention to detail can be seen all over the apartment with the iced tea and bottled water left for us in the fridge, the extra plastic bags that really came in handy, the scrumptious snacks, the interesting novels, the disposable toothbrush and travel-size toothpaste, and so much more. All of these touches made us feel welcomed and taken care of, and Kathy was prompt in responding to our Airbnb messages. The unit, which has a really nice bathroom and a spacious marble shower is in a great location close to lots of restaurants and centrally located relative to many cities with Ann Arbor, Farmington Hills, and Detroit all being about 20-30 minutes West, North, and East of Canton, respectively. There is a lot to do locally, and we recommend a stroll in Downtown Plymouth. Just take a short drive North via Morton Taylor, and you are there. The next time we are in Metro Detroit we will be sure to book more in advance. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to other travelers!

  • INCREDIBLE!!!! This house is absolutely stunning, quiet, clean, and comfortable. When we first booked Michelle's place we thought we would hardly be there and instead spend our days hiking at nearby parks, but found that we couldn't leave. The house has everything you need... a full kitchen for cooking, a TV to watch movies, a great big front porch to read on and grill, and a private lake stocked with pike (we went fishing!). Not only is this house the perfect get-a-way if you are looking for peace and quiet, but Michelle (property owner) and Tina (property manager) are both incredibly accommodating, thoughtful, and sweet. I have so far recommended this place to many many families and couples for their next vacation, and strongly recommend it to anyone looking to visit Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula!

    Marta2012-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our holiday retreat was planned with Michelle back in April. She was up at the cabin the week before our stay, put up the Christmas tree, had firewood ready, the drive plowed. Called during our drive up to make sure we found the place. She wanted to ensure everything was perfect - and it was! We got so much snow over Christmas - it was breathtaking and magical. 8 inches before we arrived and another foot before leaving. I took a coffee stroll every morning to take in the beauty of the place. We'll definitely be back again and hopefully in the summer sometime to take advantage of the lake. Thanks Michelle!

    Shiva2014-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at your very private and secluded cabin. We lucked out and had perfect weather other than a couple rain showers. Lots of relaxing whether it be in the hammock, a slow paddle around the lake or just enjoying the view from the deck overlooking the lake. The fire pit got a good bit of use as well, as we had our share of s'mores after dinner. Our 3 year old took quite a liking to playing in the sand by the canoe launch area as well as chasing bugs with her butterfly net. All in all we has a great time, thanks Michelle for hosting us.

  • This was our 4th trip to Michelle cabin and Walstrom Lake, and 3 annual return trip! It’s safe to say we’re very found of the cabin and that little lake, and very fortunate that Michelle shares it with others. The cabin is pure northwood. It s a charming and stylish cabin, equipped with all the amenities you could ask for. The kitchen is well stocked (coffee maker, microwave, stove, dishwasher, etc...). There are plenty of toys and games to keep everyone from young to old occupied, including an air hockey table and carpet shuffleboard in the basement, to a basketball hoops outside, kayaks, a canoe, and stand-ups, and a swimming platform. And there’s always fishing. But the real jewels of the cabin are the pure seclusion up there and little Walstrom Lake. The northwood birds songs are your daily soundtrack and smell of fresh cottonwood and conifers fills the air as you lounge around enjoying the placid lake and the amazing sunsets you seem to experience daily. Marquette is a 30min drive from the cabin and offers good views of Superior, history, restaurants and breweries with tasty beers. There are great hiking trails in the area, but after returning to the cabin after an afternoon exploring the area you’ll often wonder why you even left. The cabin and lake are just charming. This was our 4th trip to the cabin, but I don’t anticipate it being our last. We love it up there. PS: make no mistake, this is the northwoods and the mosquitos and the real deal. DEET is your friend ;)

  • My family was thrilled with our stay at the cabin! Michelle and Tina were very quick in responding to any questions that we had. We stayed there during a very cold time to welcome in 2014. Even though it was freezing we did trek out on the marked trail for a bit to enjoy the area. We had a great time keeping busy with puzzles, games, listening to music, talking with great friends, and relaxing with good books. My two kids (ages 6 and 4) LOVED the cabin and everything we did. The stay was far too short for them, so they are already counting the days until we head up there in August. :) The most memorable moment for me was when I ran out to my car for something just after midnight on New Year's Eve. I paused for a moment to look up and just gasped at what I saw. The sky was clear and the stars seemed close enough to touch! I gathered a few others who were up and made them go out to see it, and they were also in awe... God is awesome! Thank you for the great memories! We can't wait to return to make more. :)

  • My friends and I felt very much at home in the Holtrop family cabin. We visited in winter, and we enjoyed hiking around the property and the views from porch. Indoors, we found all the amenities we needed for a warm weekend, including wood for the fire and a spacious kitchen. As we planned our trip, Michelle was always available to discuss logistics, and she made sure that our stay went off without a hitch.

Floyd's Cabin is a spacious rustic loft style one bedroom cottage with kitchen, extra large living room, wood burning stove Long front porch spanning the entire front of the cabin.Screened porch which overlooks the woods. Located in Lakeside,Michigan on a quiet gravel road, surrounded by a forest of mature trees on all sides. Air conditioning in bedroom, which spills over into the living (Website hidden by Airbnb) fan in living room. Wifi a bit sketchy in the cabin but a good signal is available in and around the cottage (100 ft from the cabin) We're working on that. There are great restaurants, a micro brewery, art galleries, antique shops a short drive away. Warren Dunes is four miles from the cabin. Lake Michigan Pier Ave. Beach is a few blocks from the cabin. It's a short walk or bike ride away. Pick blueberries in the summer or shop at nearby farmers markets for fresh produce. Pick apples or pumpkins in the fall. There is a wonderful Farmers' market from 9 am to 2pm every Saturday and Sunday about four miles to the south of the cabin, located on Red Arrow Highway. Apple Cider Century bike ride in late summer. Lakeside is a quiet, long established summer community. Another nearby small village is Three Oaks, where you will find several restaurants, shops and art house movie theater (the Vickers) . Sawyer is another nearby village which has a grocery store, wonderful garden store, offering a huge selection of plants, produce and an extensive wine shop. Other things to visit in Sawyer are GreenBush Brewing Company, Joe Hindley Artist Studio, Katherine Doll Clothing Shop, which is located in the old Sawyer Fire House. Apple Cider Century Bike tour is in the fall.
  • The cabin is very sweet. It is located in a lovely wooded area. We spent 2 nights in mid-June with our dog, Ulysses. We could walk to the Lake. We have visited the area often over the past 40 years, but never on the "other side" of Red Arrow Highway. It was a new and positive experience for us.

  • The experience was truly magical. I felt as if I was at Walden Pond, but only an hour or so outside Chicago. If I had stayed just a few days longer I may have even become a writer. ;) Honestly the house is quaint and has everything you could need with beautiful and intentional decor. During the days we went to the beach, wineries (lemon creek), and Journey Man distillery. If we'd had time we would have went to Greenbush Brewery, and Round Bar for jammin in the vineyard, all near by as well! In the afternoon we brought a bottle of wine to the beach to watch the sun set. We cooked out every night on the grill and ate on the back porch. In the mornings I woke up to tea and a good read out back. I would recommend bringing a bike to ride to the beach and the little antique shop just across red arrow highway. Floyd gave us a warm introduction and had a lot of suggestions for things to do in the area. I did not get to meet Lynda but she was very helpful via text. She is also returning my scarf that I accidentally left behind! :p I wish I could have stayed longer and hope to be back soon. I can only imagine the place in the fall! Thank you for the wonderful time, Floyd and Lynda :)

  • I decided to book Floyd's Cabin for a quick weekend getaway. Living in the city, I was hoping to find some nature serenity without driving too far from Chicago. Floyd's cabin was a perfect choice. The cabin is surrounded by trees and interior is filled with Floyd and Linda's artwork, I felt like I got to know the hosts through their work. But most importantly, it was as serene as it could possibly get.

  • Floyd's cabin was just as expected! Secluded enough from the hustle and bustle of a city, yet close enough to other houses to feel safe. It was a great get away from the city, and Floyd was kind enough to meet us and show us where everything was. My boyfriend and I had a great little get away, got to enjoy the beach nearby as well as many restaurants and stores down the road. The cabin was fully stocked with towels, blankets, dishes and even board games to pass the time since we got rained in every night! We enjoyed the quiet treelined cabin and even had time to use the BBQ grill on the patio. We will definitely be coming back to this little get away!

  • My husband and I loved our stay at the cabin! It was so rustic and cozy. Exactly what we were looking for, and exactly what the photos look like. We loved making dinner in the kitchen, and having a glass of wine on the porch. We drove to nearby new buffalo and sawyer. The beach is also very close. We can't wait to come back next summer :)

  • We had a great time at Floyd's Cabin in Lakeside. Linda was super attentive to any questions, the cabin is clean and neatly decorated, and the wood-burning fireplace was stocked and ready to light the night we arrived. I recommend checking out the Journeyman Distillery tour which is only a 10 min drive from the cabin. Beach access is easy via the Pier St. access point; there's a couple parallel parking spots if you'd rather drive. Overall we had a great stay.

  • Linda and Floyd - were wonderful. They provided us everything and with helpful tips on places to check out. They had a fully equipped kitchen that was awesome for us to cook in and enjoy a peaceful dinner with interesting pieces of art in the cabin. At first we weren't sure on the dirt road to the cabin, but it was helpful to see the "Floyd sign" on the right hand sign of tree that made us realized that we were on the right track. The directions were spot on. :) Warren Dunes is a must, David's Deli coffee shop in New Buffalo cute place for coffee, and Sawyer for beer and a cute market. We would love to come back....

  • Linda & Floyd were quick to respond to any questions prior to arrival, and even with a much later than expected arrival time, Floyd made the time to welcome us and chat about places to go, see, and eat. We were in town for a wedding, and the cabin's location feels remote, but is actually in the middle of everything. 20 minutes to Michigan City, 25 minutes to St. Joe/Benton Harbor, 15 minutes to Four Winds Casino, and all the antiques/shops in between. After we left we realized some personal belongings got left behind, and Linda mailed them to us. You can't describe genuine kindness any better than that! Thanks so much!

Don & Denise were fantastic hosts. My girlfriend and I took an excursion to Northern Michigan and we couldn't be happier with Crystal Lake and our hosts. Don made great healthy morning smoothies, and they offered for us to use their bikes, which we used to hop on the Betsie Valley Trail to make our way to Frankfurt for a walk on the beach and lunch at Stormcloud Brewery. Don & Denise were also very open to let us use their paddleboards and kayak, and the lake itself is so incredibly beautiful and clear. The home amenities were also all great, and the dogs were very friendly. Overall, it was a wonderful visit, Don & Denise were so friendly and kind and excited to have us, and we are excited to go back again! Thank you again, Don & Denise!

Wonderful place to stay especially for those new to the Traverse City area. We had a tight budget for our honeymoon and this was a perfect retreat that kept us close to town but in a peaceful setting. We love to cook, so having the full kitchen plus a grill was great. The property was beautifully maintained and we loved eating pears and peaches right off the tree. Only downside that happened during our stay is the fridge died which is definitely not something Marco or Joni had control over. They jumped to respond providing us a gift card to go to lunch on them and let us use a fridge in the garage below. At least we can say with confidence that the fridge is brand new for anyone after us!
