Our beautiful, minimalist Tiny House is a comfortable home base for tourists and business travelers. For leisure you are minutes from Lady Bird Lake and in the heart of the East Side entertainment. The Tiny House is also connected to 1GB WiFi. We look forward to hosting you in the heart of East Austin, just 1.5 miles from the convention center, and 10 minutes from the airport. We are kid friendly (pac n play, toys, high chair available), and accept dogs for an additional one-time fee of $25.
The Kanga Tiny House comfortably sleeps two people, sharing a queen bed. If you are traveling with a third person, or simply need extra sleeping space, we have a twin-sized air mattress available for you to borrow, or a pac'n'play for a little one. (Please ask for this in your reservation request if you need it). Floor space is limited, so we may rearrange furniture to comfortably accommodate your group. Check-in time is 3pm or later. Access is through a keyless lock for which you'll be provided a code prior to approval, so late night check-ins are not a problem. Check-out time is 12pm. Dogs are permitted on a case-by-case basis for an additional per visit fee of $25, and approval must be obtained ahead of a booking being made. The fee will be added to the booking through a booking alteration/special offer. In cases of Instant Books, we'll submit a request for pet fee payment through the Airbnb system. Guests must keep their dogs supervised at all times when in the yard, leashed when outside the yard, and must pick up after them. The Kanga Tiny House is roughly 200 square feet, and features: - AT&T GigaPower Internet (through Airport Extreme) - We do not have a TV but you can certainly stream your favorite shows with your own streaming services account (e.g. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon). - USB Charger for your devices - Wireless Charging Pad from Ikea (your device must be wireless enabled) We keep the place well stocked with all of the basics, as well as extra towels and blankets. We are: - 15 minutes (6.6 miles) from Austin Bergstrom International Airport, - 5 minutes (1.5 miles) from the Austin Convention Center, - Approx. $6 or $7 Uber/Lyft ride from downtown, - 1.7 miles to Austin's famous Rainey Street bar and restaurant district. We recommend taking Uber/Lyft unless you feel like a 30 minute walk, - 3 blocks away from the Lady Bird Lake trailhead on Pleasant Valley, for walking/biking/running (by Longhorn Dam). If you enjoy exploring on foot, or alternative transit options like bikes and buses, this is a good spot for you. You'll be just one block away from Cesar Chavez St, a major thoroughfare that goes into downtown, where there's an eclectic mix of dining, drinking, retail, services, gas stations, and single family homes. We're only a few short blocks from the Lady Bird Lake trail and head over Longhorn Dam, which pops you out onto a hiking, biking, and running loop that is several miles long. The boardwalk over the lake provides great views of downtown. There are plenty of things in walking distance, and we recommend looking at our Guidebook for more details. Our favorites for food & groceries: - JuiceLand on E Cesar Chavez, a smoothie & juice spot, approx. 3 minutes away - Tacos Guerrero on Cesar Chavez & Pleasant Valley, fantastic breakfast tacos for only $2 a piece - La Barbecue on E Cesar Chavez (we recommend preordering, at least 5 days in advance, to save yourself a couple of hours in a long line for the best brisket in town). - Kemuri Tatsu-Ya, 1.5 blocks away, fantastic Texas & Japanese fusion food - Juniper, 1 block away, a small plates restaurant with great cocktails - Counter Culture on E Cesar Chavez, a vegan restaurant, 2 blocks away - Blue Owl Brewing, a sour-mashed beer micro brewery, 1 block away - Juniper, a classy Italian restaurant with great wine and outdoor seating, 1 block away - HEB on E 7th, a grocery store, approx. 10 minutes away - Hi Hat on E 6th, a gastropub, approx. 15 minutes away - Counter Cafe on E 6th, a breakfast & lunch diner, approx. 15 minutes away - Launderette on Holly St at St Martinez Jr St has one of the best burgers in town plus a tasty rotating dessert menu. There are many more options for dining and services. If you prefer to drive to any of these you'll get there in less than 5 minutes. We are avid travelers ourselves, and love staying with AirBnB hosts any chance we get. We want to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, and are completely open to frank feedback on how to improve your time in the Kanga Tiny House.
The East Side is a wonderful, artsy, quirky place. It's still a little rough around the edges, as is the case in any gentrifying neighborhood. We always feel perfectly safe, and our street is well lit and comfortably "busy" with traffic and buses, while still being completely residential. We've never had issues with street parking. There's no side walk on our particular block (despite letters to the city) but it picks up on both sides of our block, and doesn't bother us much.
  • I love East Austin and it was a treat to stay in such a quaint space during my last trip there! Not only were Chad and Amy very helpful and hospitable, but the place itself was perfect. Quiet and private. A comfy bed. Full kitchen. Clean and well-stocked bathrooms. Peaceful patio. Easy access and parking. And yes, there was wifi and the A/C didn't disappoint which can be a real concern in the Texas summer heat. Neighborhood gems like Juiceland and Blue Owl Brewing were literally a block away. No complaints! 10/10. Will come back.

  • If you have ever thought to yourself - I could live in a tiny house...this is a great chance to experience tiny house living while enjoying all that Austin has to over near by.

  • Great location for our visit, easy to get around Austin from this place.

    Paul2018-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really great place on the quite side of town.. while still being walkable to many places to eat and drink. The place was super clean, instructions were very clear and the bed was so comfortable. I visit Austin for work often and east Austin is my favorite neighborhood. Taquerias, Bodegas, Cantinas, Dive bars, live music, close to the river and all the beauty of Austin. I highly recommend this location.

  • Staying at The Kanga was a breeze! Anna and Chad were welcome hosts. The house is just right for one person, and was fully stocked with extra linens and some breakfast foods and snacks. It is also immaculately clean, and quiet. One of my best AirBnb experiences -- highly recommended, especially for business travelers who want to avoid the hustle and bustle of downtown (and the high prices).

    Jen2016-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Chad and Anna were the perfect hosts, and their Kanga house was delightful. Perfect location, seamless check-in and check-out, well-appointed, and exceptional in every respect!

    Rob2016-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Chad's kanga house is adorable and very comfortable. The location is fabulous and near amazing cafes and restaurants. The house is peaceful and lovely--I felt completely at home. Thank you for a great stay!

    Maya2016-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I honestly feel like the Kanga is better than a hotel. It is more private and the amenities are much nicer, and they recycle. It is located near a juice bar, vegan breakfast place, and coffee house, plus late night food and drink spots, too, and close to bikes, public transit, or a highway if you rented a car. But when you get back to the Kanga after a long day of exploring the city it is cool and quiet.

  • Jason's downtown loft was perfect. Even though it came with two parking spots we chose not to get a rental. Most places were in walking distance. Uber was easy as well. The apartment itself was gorgeous. We had some friends over and entertained a few times before going out. Very clean and felt very safe, as it was a gated complex. I would definitely stay here again if I had the opportunity. There is so much being built in Austin right now I'd love to see how the neighborhoods continue to get developed.

    Brian2015-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jason's place is the perfect location for folks visiting Austin. His space is beautiful and centrally located to Austin cultural activities. He was very communicative and swell to work with. I'd definitely recommend his place!

    Natasha2015-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jason's place is great! Huge, light, airy, great decor, comfy, good location. And Jason is super helpful and easy to deal with.

  • Great condo w/ a fabulous location Easy walk to all the 6th Street and surrounding areas. Class A in all respects!

    Guy 2013-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Jason's loft was beautiful, clean and had GORGEOUS views of the Austin skyline. The location was perfect for a night on 6th, a quick jog to the lake and was easily accessible from the highway. Jason's place also has all the convenience of a high-end hotel as he leaves little bottles of shampoo and conditions for guests as well as bottled water in the fridge and other amenities. We felt so at home here. I HIGHLY recommend booking a stay the next time you are in Austin!

    Jenn2013-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Jason's place was great. The apartment was fantastic, located in a great part of town. The place was comfortable with a great view of the city. Checkin was very easy, and while we didn't get to meet Jason, he was always contactable and gave us a lot of suggestions on places to go and things to see. I highly recommend his place.

    Christian2014-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent! - Great decor & amenities. Top notch. Looks exactly like the pictures. - Great views of the Austin skyline - Nice balcony for drunk-people-watching - Easy check-in & check-out (no need to wait for someone to check you in & out) - Great location (in the middle of 6th st). Everything is pretty much walking distance. There's a gas station & Wendy's next to the place if you need something

    Jeffrey2014-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jason was a great host, we had everything we needed. A great location , gated parking and a wonderful all glass view. The decor was classy and festive! We would be happy to stay there a third time and more!

  • Bill was a great host - quick to respond to queries and really helpful with little things like extra coffee, towels and leaving our bags before our flight out. The Hideaway is an awesome spot. It's a beautiful apartment with great pool. Top notch wifi. Quiet neighbourhood but less than a 5min walk to South Congress and just 25min walk to downtown. Comfortably suited three adults (1 couple & 1 single) for a week and we'd happily recommend to anyone visiting Austin. Definitely the best place I've stayed in the city in 6 visits.

    Mark2015-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Bill's place was amazing! The location was great, down a quiet street right next to South Congress. The decor was fantastic too, and we enjoyed the pool to cool off. We'd definitely stay again!

    Nick2016-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • We just got back from SXSW and had a great time. We stayed at an Airbnb called The Hideaway that is all and more than the pictures show. It is clear that some time and creativity went into the decor. It was so close to the action on Congress Street yet very quiet. The beds were wonderful and so was the pool. Bill introduced himself and offered his help on anything we asked for yet he never hung on top of us. I want to go back.

    Robert2016-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Bills place is excellent if you're looking to be very close to downtown but also have a place to just relax and get away from the busy streets of downtown Austin. The pool is lovely and the pictures don't do justice of how big the rooms actually are. Overall an amazing stay and would definitely rent out again!

    Tyler2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay to explore Austin! Couldn't more highly recommend Bill's place for a relaxing (or adventurous) visit to Austin. Short walk to SoCo shops and restaurants, and about 20-30 minutes walk to downtown/Lady bird lake. We parked the car in the driveway (super convenient) and didn't use it again until it was time to leave. The place itself is beautiful, the pictures are spot on. Not sure I've ever stayed at such a nice rental or hotel in my life! The pool area was incredible although we didn't get the chance for a swim. The neighborhood was fun to walk around in, very safe, and a short stroll to a nice trail for walkers or runners. 110% recommend!

    Amanda2017-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Hideaway is the perfect place to stay in Austin! My boyfriend and I and another couple stayed for 2 nights over NYE and only wish we could have stayed longer. Bill was the most gracious host and made us feel right at home. He was extremely accommodating throughout our stay and was available via phone and text with any questions that popped up. Bill also offered 2 Schwinn bikes (with helmets!) for us to rent at a reduced rate. The 2 bedroom apartment is spacious and beautifully decorated with chic Jonathan Adler furnishings and amazing artwork which gave the unit so much funk and character (everything was exactly as pictured). The beds were extremely comfortable, and with the blackout curtains we had no trouble getting plenty of sleep. Each room also comes with a large flatscreen TV (in addition to the one in the living room), a spacious walk-in closet, and 2 sets of plush robes. The bathroom is the perfect size (and plenty big enough) for sharing among the 2 bedrooms. The kitchenette had everything we needed (small fridge, microwave, espresso machine) as we preferred to check out the famous food scene in Austin. Due to the cold weather we weren't able to enjoy the pool, but it was nicely heated and the patio furniture is adorable and very comfortable. The location can't be beat - tucked away on a quiet street but still within a 5 min walk of all of the restaurants, shops, and bars on South Congress Ave. No more than a 5 minute drive from downtown, or a 20-30 min walk over the bridge. Overall, we had an amazing stay - would highly recommend to anyone visiting Austin. Would definitely stay here again!

    Rachel2016-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Bill's place was absolutely amazing!!! So romantic upscale and cozy. Very high tech with awesome electronics and sound to boot. Bill answered many phone calls from me as we checked in and was very gracious and understanding with my many calls lol. Superior Host!! Will definatley stay there again. If you are looking for a very romantic get a (Website hidden by Airbnb) not ...I really mean do not pass this jewel by. I agree with all the reviews I read that encouraged me to check Bill's place out. Definitely worth the value!!!!!

    Mark2017-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Hideaway comes as advertised and as reviewed. Our stay at the Hideaway was exceptional! From the luxurious feel to the attention to detail, Bill was a phenomenal host! The Hideaway is a must stay if you're planning a trip to Austin.

  • Jason was a great host. He was clear and informative with the check-in/check-out process, which was very simple. The cabana is an adorable stand-alone home, which is a split level large studio with a huge backyard. Very spacious. Large screen TV with cable, great wifi, in-unit washer/dryer. The place was modern, impeccably clean (thankfully no carpet throughout), and we had plenty of clean towels. The neighborhood is quiet, especially since it's next to a cemetery. It felt safe. Very convenient location - we had 4-minute waits for uber rides. There's a great cocktail bar called The Wheel and an amazing hair salon called Vain around the corner (2-5 minute walk). Went to both and was very pleased with the cocktail and draft beer selection, as well as the hair-do for the wedding we attended. Would definitely stay there again.

    Jennifer2015-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jason was attentive to our few questions, and a great host. The place was well outfitted and exactly as advertised. Strangely, we really enjoyed the location, a block from the old Oakwood Cemetary. Part of our reason to visit Austin was for birding, and even the city birds were interesting at this location!

    Nancy2015-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great experience at this location. The home was just as clean and beautiful as the pictures indicated. A really wonderful yet compact home that was perfect for 2 people. And the serene backyard with the bay door that pushes open was a nice touch. It was great to walk outside and have a cup of coffee in the morning. The location was central and very close to downtown and East Austin bars/restaurants. Our host, Jason, was unobtrusive but accessible and communicative. I'd definitely stay here again.

    Jerry2015-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • The place was wonderful, unique, clean and a great stay. One thing to keep in mind is you can hear noise pretty well, but it's a quiet neighborhood so not a worry either. It was a delightful experience, Jason is a responsive and thoughtful host.

    Beatrice2016-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Jason's Eastside Cabana. It was clean, spacious, contemporary plus we walked to the UT game. So nice, we will definitely be back...thanks Jason!!!

    Jana2013-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great experience! Not only was Austin amazing, we felt perfectly at home halfway across the country by staying at this location. Jason was super accommodating and made himself readily available to come over if we needed anything, but gave us all the privacy we could ask for. We met Jason our first night (by our choosing) and he recommended plenty of restaurants and even a yoga studio in the area. The place was welcoming and so cozy, and minutes from downtown- close enough that you're next to everything, but far enough away that you're not surrounded by nightlife. We've decided we will be visiting Austin about once a year now, and we will definitely be returning to this sweet cabana. Highly recommend!!

Lofted craftsman cottage in the heart of central east Austin. Located less than a mile from UT and 1.5 miles to downtown. The cottage has an open and comfortable vibe with natural light against the custom woodwork and vaulted pine ceilings.
Completely renovated, open and modern cottage with loft in central east, atx. The cottage has been restored over the past couple of years and is essentially a new house on the inside. The interior has a vaulted tongue and groove pine ceiling with a loft, hardwood floors, tiled bathroom, and relaxed open atmosphere. Cottage is centrally located less than a mile from ut and the state capitol and 1.5 miles from downtown. The MLK commuter rail train station is directly across the street from the house and is one stop from downtown. Bennu (the local 24 hour coffee shop) is a couple of blocks away, as are restaurants, bars, etc. on Manor road (within walking distance). Check out my guide for restaurants and such in the area. The house has central ac/heat, high speed wireless internet, cable tv, washer/dryer, tankless water heater, full kitchen, w/ coffee maker/coffee etc. Super comfy queen size bed with 400 thread count linens, lots of comfortable pillows, and fresh towels in the bathroom. The house has a ton of windows and can be bright and sunny with the blinds open letting in the natural light, or cozy and dark with the blinds closed and lights dimmed against the interior woodwork. The cottage is furnished with a mix of mid century and custom pieces. The loft has a sofa that converts to a full size bed and can accommodate 2 extra people. There is also a unique outdoor seating area with vintage wrought iron furniture that's been re-done with comfortable cushions. Is a nice hang out space for relaxing and enjoying coffee or drinks with friends. The area also includes a grill for whatever you'd like to cook up. Is difficult to portray the comfortable vibe of the house in the pictures. I'm the iphone photographer so pics are a bit rudimentary and hardly do the house justice. I also live on the property in the adjacent back cottage. I'm a native Texan and long-time Austinite that can give you insight and recommendations about the city according to what you're seeking, but am just as happy to not cross paths as the cottage is pretty autonomous. The house is super convenient to all things in central Austin and is a great place to relax and recharge during your stay. A bit of history from the Austin Historical Commission about the cottage - "these cottages were built by the Calcasieu Lumber Company of Austin as small dwellings in the 1920s and 1930s. Founded in the 1880s, Calcasieu Lumber Company was Austin's first lumber yard. The company had standardized plans, and provided all the materials, even the crews for the construction of these houses on an owner’s site. The Calcasieu cottages are unique to Austin, and have a signature Romantic Tudor Revival style, with steeply pitched hipped roofs – many residents have long referred to them as “fairy tale cottages” because of their soaring rooflines. Calcasieu manufactured these cottages through the 1930s, but stopped with this romantic Tudor Revival style prior to World War II. The Calcasieu Lumber Company was an Austin institution, and their cottages represent a uniquely Austin manifestation of an architectural style that is found nowhere else in the country. Maintaining them in Austin is extremely important." This property is in compliance with the City of Austin's Short Term Rental ordinances. Lic# (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) OL
The most eclectic, interesting neighborhood in the city. Walk, bike, or take a cab downtown. Houndstooth is 1/2 block away for the best coffee in town. The rail station is across the street and downtown is one stop away. Skylark lounge is a must.
  • This is an excellent choice for a place to stay not far at all from all the fun things to do. It's a great updated cottage as well!

    Stephen2015-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • My two friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Brad's cottage; it was the perfect retreat after all the hustle and bustle of SXSW. The cottage was very clean and had every amenity we could've needed, we only wish we could've stayed longer and enjoyed the backyard as well! Brad was great at communicating with us during the entire process and ensured everything was ready for our stay.

    Kamie2014-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Brad was a great host and so accommodating! I booked very last minute and he was quick to respond and accept my reservation. The house is so warm and cozy and perfect for a night or 2 away. I wouldn't hesitate to book again!

    Staci2015-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • With all the hassle of trying to find housing during SXSW, I was quite delighted to find Brad's place at a reasonable price. As he states, the pictures really don't do the space justice. It's a beautiful, minimal decorated cottage with a lot of character and conveniently located near the rail so getting downtown was simple. Brad was also a great host -- friendly, very accommodating, and communicative. I would highly recommend.

    Kwasi2014-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! Everything was very clean and the house is so cute and unique, perfect for a couple!

  • Brad’s place was very inviting. Quick and easy check in and out. His place would be great if you wanted to shut yourself in during your whole trip as it’s just so nice to be there, but leaving it made it exciting to come back!

    Whitney2018-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Brad was awesome! The house was cozy, cold, and tunes were playing when we walked in! When we got back home last night, we realized that we should have just stayed forever.

  • The house was beautiful! It was so clean and welcoming. It is a beautiful space, and so easy to get to from the highway, while still feeling secluded.

  • Staying at the "Modern Hill Country Getaway" was awesome. Cindy was an incredibly gracious host. She was very welcoming, and I enjoyed talking with her. The house was gorgeous, as pictured, and my room was so clean, private, comfortable and beautiful. I was traveling for work, but felt like I was on vacation. Thanks Cindy. I hope to see you again!

  • Cindy has a very beautiful designer home. Everything was flawless and immaculate. Loved the breakfast bar, coffee maker and my accomodation. Location was wonderful - saw a deer from the terrace. A true haven and only a 15-20 drive from Downtown.

  • Beautiful cottage in a quiet neighborhood. Steve was very helpful and even had a page of recommended restaurants and stores in the area!

    Aubrey2014-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Steve has a pretty cool little guest house! It was just what we needed for our quick overnight stay in Austin. First time ever staying in a pull down bed and I have to say it was a lot more comfortable than I thought it was going to be! The place is just a few minutes drive or about a $10 uber from downtown so it's really convenient and although we didn't need it Steve had out some breakfast items for the morning. Highly recommended place to stay if you are journeying to Austin!

    Gregory2014-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Steve was an awesome host and very accommodating! We brought our own air mattress and he gladly provided us with extra sheets. The space was very spacious and comfortable. My friends and I had a great time staying in Steve's cabin. The location was also very ideal!

    Katherine2014-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a darling space! It is a private little oasis in a charming neighborhood. While we never got a chance to actually meet our host, Steve was available at all times via the Airbnb site to answer questions and just to make sure we had everything we needed. The area boasts great restaurants and reminded me of Ithaca , NY with its bohemian flavor.

    Mary2016-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect experience. Steve is fantastic (and not just because he baked fresh cookies and left them on the counter). The space is very aesthetically pleasing and roomy. The bed was very comfortable and there are amenities to make it feel like home - coffee, tea, granola, yogurt, fruit. The space is near the university and all the great restaurants in Austin. Close to the airport as well.

    J.L.2015-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our time in Austin was greatly enhanced by our stay with Steve. He was flexible about our check in and check out times which was great since our flight was a bit late. He also had stocked the mini fridge with a few things which was really nice. The space itself was beautiful and peaceful. I would highly recommend staying with Steve if you are ever in Austin.

    Eichelle2015-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • What an awesome place to stay! It really is as nice as it looks in the photos. Steve was incredibly accommodating to my family - I already feel like he is an old friend. We ended up going to bed early while we were here and the area was very quiet, and this bed was super comfortable, so I slept well! I was traveling with my wife and toddler, who had a blast with the bucket of toys Steve put in the cottage for him, as well as playing on the trampoline with Steve's sons while we hung out, and checking out the playhouse in the front yard! We checked in to find homemade rice krispy treats waiting for us. So many thoughtful touches like this really made our trip memorable. To top it off, the location is amazing, right down the street from seriously good eats, especially Cherrywood Coffeehouse, that at the time of this writing has a killer a and a concert for kids Sundays at 10am! And super close to Mueller Lake Park, the Thinkery, etc. Will definitely stay again next time we're in Austin!!

    Derrick2016-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Steve's cottage is a wonderful retreat, tucked away behind a larger victorian home in Austin. The location is great - just a couple of minutes from downtown and walking distance to the neighborhood restaurant and shops on Manor Rd. The cottage was clean, quiet, comfortable, and stylishly furnished, just like the pictures. Steve has stocked the cottage with all the amenities you might and the kitchen is nicely supplied with drinks in the fridge, coffee, tea and more. There was even a bottle of bubbly in the fridge, coupons for free coffee at a nearby shop, and homemade rice krispy treats (which made a perfect snack for our drive home)! We were only here for 1 night but it would be a great setup for a longer stay. Steve was friendly and communications were easy and quick. We wouldn't hestitate to stay here again.

Unwind on a private wooden deck overlooking the surrounding trees in this modern studio guesthouse. Experience a countryside forest getaway featuring contemporary architecture, room-length windows, and an extensive library. Please don't pull in drive
Sleek, clean, new (finished in April, 2014), modern and completely private. The space has two good-sized bedrooms connected by a large bathroom. I do not book strangers together because of the shared bath. Fridge/ice-maker, coffee & tea provided. NO KITCHEN OR MICROWAVE. Four people will be quite comfortable. Separate entrance from main house.
The house is just 10 minutes from downtown, with plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops to discover. A short walk away from the house are Zilker Park, Deep Eddy pool, Barton Springs pool, boat rentals, and the famous Lady Bird Lake trails.
  • Second stay at this house and I'll be returning again! Absolutely love the home and the ease of the stay. The Zipp's are wonderful hosts and I'll be headed back in a few weeks.

  • My mom and I had a wonderful time staying at the Modern Sanctuary! I was quiet and peaceful but so close to all the great restaurants of Downtown Austin. The host also had great recommendations for foodie fun places to eat!

  • What a glorious adventure! We first arrived a few minutes before our check in time and were greeted by several male construction workers relieving themselves off the driveway after a hard day’s work. Men in nature are glorious, am I right? We weren’t certain how to enter the guesthouse, so we gave Jodi a call. She was in Paris (schmancy!) and advised us that the door was unlocked (convenience!). At first blush, the guesthouse was a clean and open space. Floor to ceiling windows are open onto the back deck, giving you a direct view into the construction zone behind the guesthouse (guess that’s where those construction guys were breaking a sweat). Before we set out on our first evening in Austin, we took a luxurious shower in a beautifully maintained bathroom. Note the very serious warning about the linens, and don’t you dare get anything on those plush white towels, girl. Jodi will not be pleased. On our second night, we came back around 9 PM to find a new gentlemen circling the guesthouse. While first alarmed by the random guy walking outside our bedroom window, we soon learned that all was fine – Jodi’s daughter and her boyfriend were just out looking for one of the homeowner’s dogs, who’d finally fulfilled his escape plan (dedication!). The bedroom window provided the best view in observing their search and, a few hours later, they found the missing pup! Kuddos on those search skills, kids. On our last night, we captured a giant cockroach in the bedroom with one of the supplied wine glasses (thanks Jodi!) and escorted him outside. The guesthouse is advertised as a 2-bedroom. But if you use the second bedroom, you better plan on an extra $25 a night for sleeping on them sheets. We stayed for three nights and elected to sleep together in one bed, ‘cause you know we’re not paying for $75 extra worth of laundry detergent to wash that bedding.

  • My recent stay in this beautiful guesthouse was my first foray into the world of airbnb; I can't imagine a more perfect experience. The house is not only stunning, it is supremely comfortable. It is close enough to get into town easily but far enough away to feel private and secluded. Even though Jodi and Fred needed to leave town, they were gracious and welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed for a perfect respite. I look forward to returning to this oasis.

    Sarah2014-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Impeccable space. We loved everything about our weekend at this guesthouse. There were many outdoor activities nearby (kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming), but we made sure to balance it with our time at the guesthouse because it was so peaceful and relaxing to sit on the balcony (with a book and tea/coffee in the morning and wine and hors d'oeuvres in the evening). The bedrooms were very comfortable and all the details were taken care of (shampoo, hair dryer, etc. included). Everything is top-of-the-line and the art, furnishings, and book collection were intriguing. The neighborhood is great for walking (if you want a good hill workout!)- and there is much to see--from the gorgeous homes to the wildlife (mainly deer). On top of all that, the location is convenient to anything you may want to do in Austin--fewer than 10 minutes to downtown. I am already looking forward to my next visit! Although we didn't get to meet the host, Jodi, (since we were there on a holiday weekend) she was communicative and informative. Truly a great first AirBNB experience.

    Lauren2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this place for a couple of business clients who were visiting Austin. They absolutely loved the place and the quietness of the neighborhood, helped them rejuvenate for the long strategy sessions we had in those days. Plus, the ease of access to downtown / south lamar / west lake helped us to avoid almost all traffic. Would recommend it to other clients who visit us in Austin.

    Sai2014-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place! Jodi was a fantastic host, and we loved our stay. The neighborhood is beautiful and surrounded by great trails for running, hiking, and biking. Very close to downtown as well. Highly recommend!

  • Elizabeth was very prompt in returning our messages. She also let us check in an hour which was awesome. The location is great. We could walk to the East 6th street and it was an easy Uber ride to other areas in the city. It seemed as if the place had not been cleaned very well before we arrived. The fridge had old food in it and the shower had hair and a moldy curtain. The futon was also pretty uncomfortable for two people.

Come stay in this clean, comfortable, private bedroom with lots of great amenities. It's just 12 minutes to downtown Austin and is the perfect size for 1 or 2 guests. My home is in a quiet neighborhood with lots of great restaurants and a Target right down the street. People LOVE staying here and I take pride in providing my guests a great experience-just read my reviews!

Our neighbors are very friendly and the house is on a quiet street. There's tasty Asian and Mexican cuisine close by. We have quick access to all the major highways and roads leading downtown.
  • Nate is an absolute sweetheart, and is also humorous which helps to bring comfort in a place away from home. Upon arrival, he greeted me and ensured I had everything I needed while also informing me about the city of Austin. The room is very comparable to a hotel room. While there you will have access to an iron, hangers for your clothes, a personal coffee machine, a small refrigerator in the room with a refreshing glass bottle of water, complimentary snacks and plenty of toiletries if needed. I was a bit home sick as it was my first time in Austin and I came alone, but Nate's placed soothed my homesickness and helped for an awesome trip! I would hands down stay there again!

  • Nate is absolutely fantastic - I have never met a host as warm and welcoming as him. Nate gave us a lift to the local store, treated us to ice cream and gave us tips about where to go. The room was brilliant, very comfy and warm. Bathroom was very clean had a great powerful shower. There's little snacks in the room and a fridge so you can keep your own food too. The bus stop is a 5m walk away so you can get downtown in about 30m and it's extremely cheap. Seriously don't hesitate to book - Nate is an optimistic, outgoing guy and I can't wait to come back soon.

    Matthew2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Overall my stay was very comfortable and quite. When I arrived a little early Nate accommodated for me, the room was clean and I was greeted by the house pups! Seeing as how my stay was extended I would have wanted my trash taken out when I was away instead of waiting for the housekeeper. Other than that I would definitely stay again!

  • My boyfriend and I LOVED our stay here at Jason's lovely apartment. We would love to stay here again. Very clean and pristine, well furnished, and a perfect place to decompress after a long day of walking and sightseeing. It was very accessible to busses, which was very much appreciated as we were doing a lot of public transportation.

    Samantha2014-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jason was straightforward to coordinate with and made staying at the condo easy. The complex as a whole isn't quite as nice as the interior of the condo itself (and the community pool was a bit too questionable to consider swimming), but it felt reasonably safe and well-kept. The location is great with a quick walk to the bus to get downtown, and the unit was well-kept and as described. It worked great for a group attending a conference, as we needed lots of individual sleeping spaces, and this space delivered!

    Adam2014-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great, and very centric... I was happy with my stay and felt like home.

    Rodrigo2015-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Space looks exactly as you expect in the pictures. Getting access, parking, etc. all went smoothly. Definitely recommend. Only surprise: there are no fewer than 4 beer brand signs hung throughout the apartment. See if you can find all 4!

    Emmett2014-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • I recently rented Jason's house for a bachelorett party for a group of 7. His spot was the perfect size and in the perfect location. We were minutes away from everything we did that weekend, and we did quite a bit. I can't thank Jason enough for making such a special weekend happen for me and my group.

Welcome to our studio in the heart of Hyde Park! Our private studio is located in our backyard with parking in front of our house. You can walk to Hyde Park Village, the Triangle or North Loop and it is minutes to downtown and UT.
Our private studio offers convenient access to everything you want to do in Austin. It is small (approximately 220 square feet, like a small hotel room) but what it lacks in size, it makes up for with charm (and everything you need for a great stay). The studio is located in the backyard of our house (private fenced yard, side entrance) and is separate from the main house, although it shares an insulated wall with a home office, typically in use from 9-5. Also included are WiFi, and smart TV (no cable, but Netflix account pre logged in.) The studio has a brand new queen sized bed. Guests with children are welcome to bring an air mattress for no additional charge, but space is tight with a mattress on the floor. Due to its limited size, we do not allow the studio to be used by 4 full-sized adults. It is perfect for a couple or small family. The kitchenette includes a mini fridge and microwave. Additionally, all of the windows have window coverings for privacy, though the top windows are uncovered for natural light . As we are located in the middle of a historic residential community (and love our neighbors and this is our backyard), keeping outdoor noise down is critical. If you're a fan of blaring music and doing beer bongs, you're in the wrong place. The studio is located near several bus stops in a safe neighborhood that is very safe to walk in. Thanks for checking us out! City of Austin Short Term Rental Operating License #OL(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)
Our beautiful and friendly neighborhood is one of the oldest in Austin. It is full of tree lined streets with eclectic homes. You can walk to local coffee shops, restaurants or Shipe Park for a picnic or swim (in the summer time)!
  • I was in Austin for a relaxing trip and to visit a friend, so Sangeeta's place was perfect! It was centrally located, in a really walkable neighborhood, and was perfect for some R&R.

  • Lovely little backyard apartment in a fantastic location!

    Adam2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the bungalow was very convenient for my conference at UT Austin. There were two buses that easily got you to campus within 15-20 minutes. There were also grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance (even a great vegetarian/vegan place)! The hosts were also very friendly and were available to offer suggestions of things to do around town! The bungalow was on the small side and did not have a closet (just something to consider), but this was not an issue for my week long trip.

    Alicia2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay! The location is right down the way from anything you would ever need I loved the small Casita! It was clean and the windows are even in a position to see the stars at night (not kidding). The owners have thought out alot of the small details. There was even a cutting board! I'd stay here over a hotel any day.

    Kristopher2016-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, private, and friendly. All you need in a quality place to stay. Would stay with Sangeeta and Chris again.

  • What a lovely place! This was my first experience with airbnb and now I'm afraid this first experience will be hard to beat. The studio is tucked away towards the back of yard and in a convenient location in a quiet neighborhood. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, and the hassle free check in/out was a plus! Furnishings are minimal and simple, but it was just enough for a short weekend stay. The studio is small, but surprisingly comfortable. Would love to stay here again for my next Austin trip. Thanks Sangeeta and Chris!

  • This airbnb is just as advertised: clean and crisp! We loved it! All the information we needed was outlined in the house manual so did not need to contact host. Bed was very comfortable and heated bathroom floors were a plus. Only negative was we stayed in Austin while the weather was super cold so the floors and room were very cold. We suggest slippers and warm loungewear.

    Shirley2017-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Would definitely stay here again! Nice place, quiet and clean. About a 10 dollar uber to DT.

  • We didn't get a chance to meet our hosts during our quick stay, but the studio is lovely and had everything we needed! Can't wait to visit again!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jeany's guest house. Jeany was very accomodating to us checking in late and she even provided a hair dryer when we requested one. She responded to all of our emails in a timely manner. The room was perfect. It was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable, and we appreciated having a full kitchen. The guest house also had a good air conditioner which is very important for any place in Austin. The only possible critique someone could have would be that the wireless was a bit slow, although it didn't bother us. The location was great! The neighborhood was quiet and safe. We were very close to downtown and only a short drive away from HEB (a grocery store). Staying at this guest house definitely helped make our trip to Austin an amazing one. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. It's an incredible value.

    Ravi2014-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nice tidy apartment above a garage. Great spot in a cozy, walkable neighborhood with some cool "out of the way" bars & restaurants. Right off the trails along the river & just a 15min drive from the airport. I'd definitely recommend this for solo travelers or couples. You'll be glad you stayed here.

    Matthew2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Jeany and Mose were really nice and great communicators. I had to change a few things about my stay and had a few questions and Jeany would always get back to me with in hours and was so friendly. Their guest studio is new and clean and in a nice neighborhood. The cafe across the street is delicious. I would totally recommend my friends to stay here.

    Katherine2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay. Just minutes from the trail around Ladybird Lake and only a couple of miles from downtown. The guest house was very comfortable and private. Jeany and her husband were very accommodating and helpful. They're dogs are also very sweet! I would recommend this place to anyone who would like to stay outside of the downtown area and check out what's going on in the East Side.

    Tamara2014-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • This guesthouse was just thing for our first trip to Austin. Though I did not get the pleasure of meeting Jeany herself, I so appreciated her willingness to answer any questions we had and help with our transportation, entertainment and logistics questions. The space is wonderful - very clean and pleasant, with everything you could possibly need. The East Austin area is a bit further from downtown than I initially thought but overall the experience was wonderful and I would definitely stay here again!

    Anna2014-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • If you are going to Austin this is the place to be! Jeany and Mose have a gorgeous studio apartment located in a great central location in Austin. Easy walking distance to Rainey St, Congress Ave (go see the bats!), and downtown. Jeany and Mose were awesome hosts! They communicated all important information before the trip and were readily available during our stay. This was the best AirBnb experience we have had and having a great place to stay only made our already awesome trip even better! Thank you!!

    Justin2016-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! We were in town for one night and this was perfect for us. Great location, clean, and the check in process was very quick. Jeany and Mose were very nice through the process and we're open to help us and make suggestions if we needed. Thanks for the great stay!!!

Escape to Austin and stay in a newly renovated 60s Camper in the heart of all the hip East ATX action. One mile from downtown, even closer to the legendary East-side food trucks and eateries like Franklin BBQ, Launderette, Via 313, & East Side King.
NOTE: If dates are shown as available, don't hesitate to instant book. I keep my calendar up to date. If the dates are not available, message me because I have several other listings. Stay for a long weekend while you visit Austin, or make this your landing spot while you get permanently settled in Austin. This newly remodeled 60's trailer is the perfect escape to the quintessential Austin experience but will all the modern amenities. The trailer has a full bed, internet, air conditioning/heat, mini-fridge, and 3-in-1 breakfast center (coffee, griddle, toaster oven). Next to the trailer is a shed that is being converted to bathroom with a private outdoor shower with hot water.
I have lived in East Austin for 12 years and love the thriving artist, urban gardening, DIY community. The neighborhood is within close proximity to downtown, South Austin, UT and all the other hip central places to visit. East Austin is where you will find amazing food, all kinds of art, music, DIY house shows, loose chickens and wylie and friendly neighbors to talk to. Airbnb has a great East Austin neighborhood guide. Check it out: https://www.airbnb.com/locations/austin/east-downtown I also have a few other properties in East and South Austin. Check them out on my profile page.
  • The happy camper was just as it is pictured. The bed was very comfortable and the instructions were very clear as to how to work everything. I had a great weekend in Austin and would recommend the happy camper to anyone looking to not stay in a boring hotel.

    Lynnette2016-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • I and my girlfriend stayed in Angel's camper and it was a really great for our first experience of airbnb. The camper is same as picture, and inside of the camper is a little smaller than what I expected, but looks nice and cute. I and my gf loved outdoor showered. The restroom also cleaned. Nice camper and patio, we loved this place and highly recommend!

    Sang2014-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Angel and The Happy Camper were both delightful! Angel was always quick to respond and super friendly. Check in was easy as she sent us wonderful directions/instructions. Everything was ready when we arrived and the camper is perfectly appointed. The neighborhood is great for walking (& our morning jog). So many wonderful little restaurants and shops are in walking distance, as is the light rail. We would definitely stay here again.

    Kathy2015-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Angel was great, and the Happy Camper was exactly as advertised. We have a wonderful stay: the bed was incredibly comfortable, the outdoor shower was cool and refreshing, and the aesthetics were peachy.

    Greyson2014-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cute little camper! The record player and the outdoor shower are definite pluses. Location was near enough to bike or bus or Uber to the cool spots of East Austin.

    Nathan2014-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Happy Camper was just as advertised, clean and inviting. Angel responded quickly to our queries. The neighbourhood was a little intimidating at first but on closer inspection the people were friendly and welcoming. Just a thirty minute walk to downtown, cab home less than ten dollars. The outdoor shower was a pleasant experience, hot and private. The Happy Camper is very in keeping with the Keepin' Austin Weird theme. I would definitely recommend, record player is a nice touch, we enjoyed picking up a few records at Waterloo Records and being able to head back to the camper and play them. We stayed here for the F1 race weekend, an excellent alternative to the mainstream accommodation at inflated prices. Thank you Angel!

    Natalie2014-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Super helpful and great space! Instantly responded and was super friendly. Highly recommend it for a cozy, unique experience.

    Marie-Christine2015-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about our stay went smoothly thanks to how thoughtful a host Angel is! The room had everything we needed for a night including a fridge to keep all of our many many leftovers in, A/C that worked great, a bluetooth speaker so we could watch a movie on our phones before bed, and of course the outdoor shower. Also the bike loaners were huge so we could get into town and bike along the river. I highly recommend this trailer.

My place is right in the middle of vibrant East Austin. You’ll love staying here because we've incorporated minimalistic and eco-aware design throughout to give you a relaxing, rejuvenating, and calm space for you to call your own while in Austin. Couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and those with furry friends alike love this space.
Kick back and relax in our tiny home! Small, but packed with everything you need for comfortable stay including TV with Netflix, Bluetooth speaker for you to listen to, a kitchenette with dinner ware & utensils, and more. The French doors open to your own deck with outdoor seating for you to enjoy Austin nights!
Located in the artistic East Downtown, with its murals, live music, hole-in-the-wall bars, and casual dives. This house is less than a mile away from some of Austin's best restaurants & craft cocktail bars - Franklin Barbecue, Kuneho, East Side Kings, Hillside Farmacy, Takoba, Whisler's, Ah Sing Den, and many more.
  • I was visiting Austin to check it out before I move there, (new job) and this place was perfect. Spotless, stylish, with little touches like the Marshall speaker and candles up in the loft. They really thought of everything, which made me wish I was staying longer. It rained all three days, which broke my heart because the little deck had a gorgeous hanging canopy and chairs I didn't get to use. Parking was stress-free, as was checking in and out, and was free to come and go as I pleased. It suited my purposes perfectly. Only things I would keep in mind: tall people might have some issue getting and out of the loft bed without bumping their head, and don't climb the wooden ladder/stairs in socks. (That was my mistake) This was my first experience with Airbnb and it was wonderful, so thank you very much.

    Sydney2017-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was the PERFECT Austin getaway. We came down to visit family & knew we needed a night away. We came the same weekend as ACL & heard horror stories about traffic/parking. Guess what? This space was nestled in a hip neighborhood with no problems with either. We could walk to several breakfast & food truck spots. Also, really close to a small grocery. A $5 ride to 6th street if you've never been. We've also got B Cycle passes and the closest dock was about 1/2 mile from the tiny house. We really loved spending time here. Gave us the feeling of being a local without any of the inconveniences of living in a busy city. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a small, clean place to stay. Ps. Major bonus points for the yoga mats!

    Eden2017-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • House was very cute. It felt very clean and had great natural light. It's a little awkward because it is in the backyard of a house with another trailer, so there isn't much privacy. The bed and futon were fairly uncomfortable. The house provided plenty of space for two people.

    Cara2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny home was SO CUTE. Our only complaint was that the bed did not fit two people comfortably. My boyfriend who is 6'5 spent the 2nd night downstairs on the futon. Great location and we felt safe!

    Allie2018-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little place in East Austin. Look just like the pictures.

    Shane2018-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • An okay stay.

    Chas2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • This cute nest is a great reminder of how little is needed to be happy and comfortable. Every detail in the home is deliberate and functional. The location is a bit removed from downtown, so we ended up ride-sharing quite a bit; however there is a good coffee shop (with breakfast tacos) and a hip bagel shop very close by.

    John2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • If you and your significant other are looking to spend time together for a small getaway this is your place, keep in mind this is a tiny home, so it’s small, but if y’all like being close and never leaving one another’s side like my boyfriend and I do, this is your place! It was extremely clean, and very modern inside! They have Netflix, Hulu and even WiFi all available at your use! It was great! The loft area is a little small for two people but if you like cuddling you’ll be able to make it work. The location for most would be convenient however for where we were going it wasn’t unfortunately. Will definitely stay in the tiny home again or even bring a larger group for the larger guest house in the front!

This large master suite has a king size bed, and huge closet. Private bathroom with garden tub and separate shower. 7.5 miles from COTA, 10 miles from downtown. 10 mins walk to bus #333. Full sized futon bed available for 3rd and 4th guest.
  • Great, affordable place, though it's a bit of a drive to the city ($20 uber one way). Super fast Internet and real interesting shower set up. Would definitely come again!

  • Easy check in and we arrived pretty late. Nice place to stay with private bathroom. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. If I am ever in the area again, I would most definately stay here again! Thanks Jonn!

  • John was very laid back. The room was clean. The location is not too far from the city.

    Vasin2016-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • I very much recommend John's place! After a harrowing experience not being able to contact the host I was originally supposed to stay with, I booked with John and the whole experience was very nice and smooth. The area is nice and feels rather rural and serene, even though it is only a fifteen or twenty minutes from downtown Austin. The neighborhood is quaint and there is much nature around the area including a beautiful state park. John's guest room was very comfortable and I felt right at home. Everything was clean and nothing I needed was lacking. It was very convenient, and I was able to let myself in late and leave early without even having to bother him. I heartily recommend his place!

  • Chris's cottage was just as depicted. My best friend from college and I had a great girls' weekend get-away. I was surprised when I got to the cottage that it was only a block from where I usually park when I visit SoCo; so if that tells you anything, it's that his location is super convenient. The goats in the back yard along with the chickens, and the cute bungalow style of the house, offer a cool Bohemian visit that is unexpected from the road. Chris was very helpful in offering tips about Austin. I used to live there and am quite familiar, so instead he told me about the history of SoCo which I was surprised to learn some interesting facts! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Will be back if I plan to visit Austin.

    Destiny2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was great, easy to communicate with, and very welcoming. The location couldn't be more ideal — there's so much within walking distance, and there are a lot of Lyfts and Ubers in the area for a quick pickup.

    Will2015-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely adored this space. It's as pretty as the pictures. The house was well-decorated and conveniently located. Chris was a great host - laid back and very welcoming. Definitely pick his brain for local spots. I look forward to coming back to stay next time I'm in Austin.

  • The listing is as shown. It is very cute and unique. The location is perfect. We walked (and occasionally ubered) everywhere during our stay. Chris was very welcoming and had great suggestions on where to eat. We loved Sway! He even gave us a quick tour around the area in his car upon arrival. I would definitely recommend.

    Elizabeth2015-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Chris and the SoCo Cottage. It was funky, well-appointed, superbly located, and nicely stocked with water, juice, and beer. Chris drove us around and showed us lots of cool Austin places. He also checked in with us everyday about food and events. It rocks! Stay there!

Come to stay in our charming backyard tiny house! It comes equipped with a queen size bed, tv, dining/work station, coffee machine & mini fridge. The bathroom has a sink, shower, self contained eco-friendly toilet and bath supplies including a hair dryer. Our location is very centralized so you can get anywhere in Austin easily. It's only a 12 minute drive to downtown! Why stay in a boring hotel when you can have your own private house for a fraction of the price? *Car for rent available too!
This tiny house is perfect for a short getaway for two people. But if you really want to sleep three people it is possible with two in the queen bed and one on the twin air mattress. Just know that it will be very tight space for 3.
We're located on a small street and the neighborhood is quiet and friendly. Within walking distance- Some great Asian and Mexican restaurants as well as a Target and bus station. There are tons of restaurants near by- Ramen Tatsu-ya, Stiles Switch BBQ, Din Ho Chinese BBQ, Baby Greens, Hanabi Sushi, Tam Deli & Cafe, Royal Jelly, El Nuevo Mexico, Chago's, Pint House Pizza, Torchies- the list goes on and on. Other attractions close by include Capitol City Comedy Club, Top Golf, Alamo Drafthouse, Pinballz old school arcade, Ikea and the Domain restaurants & shopping.
  • Coolest play to say ever!! Literally a cute small space to crash for the night. Very organized and clean. 10/10

    Alyssa2018-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Safe neighborhood and easy to find. Not much within walking distance, but exactly what you'd expect for a big Texas city. Super cute! Tiny, but has all amenities we needed including coffee maker, mini-fridge, blow dryer, iron and board, and more. We were worried about it, but rest assured, the A/C unit cooled the place down in a SNAP!! I'd stay here again and recommend it.

  • Great stay just what I needed for a night in Austin

    Nathaniel2018-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome. Really short drive from downtown, and not to mention there’s dogs!

    Josh2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Size clearly isn't everything. The Backyard Tiny House was everything we needed for our brief stay in Austin. We were visiting to spend time with friends and enjoy the city. For us, the tiny house was meant to be a place to sleep and recuperate. It served its purpose well. Check in was a breeze. Nate includes very detailed instructions for everything -- that made logistics incredibly simple. Upon arrival, the tiny house was immaculate, and we were quickly greeted by Nate, who was there to answer any questions we had. The location is in the backyard of a house that's located in a quiet neighborhood. Perhaps not the most "walkable" area (north of 183, off Lamar), but as long as you have a car or are comfortable using ride-sharing in Austin, this shouldn't be an issue. The area was quiet, and we felt secure during our stay. The house is small in stature, but it has everything you'd get in a hotel room. Most importantly, the bed is insanely comfortable, and the air conditioning is mega powerful. The temperature was in the upper 90s during our stay, but we were cool and comfortable at night. Highly recommended!

    Matthew2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Nate's place was amazing! The tiny house was very cozy and had everything I needed. Location was great, and checking in and out was very easy. I'll definitely be back!!

    Susie2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again in the future. Nate was responsive throughout the process, from my first inquiry and booking through the end of my stay, typically responding within an hour. I met him briefly during my stay and he is really nice. The price was reasonable for the accommodation. It was clean, comfortable, and easy to get to from the airport by bus number 350 or Uber. Nate also has a car available for rent if you need it, but I was able to get around easily for about $100 for the week. Check-in was easy and the tiny home included everything I needed. I was pleasantly surprised to find umbrellas, extra blankets, toiletries that I forgot to bring, plenty of hangers, and even an ironing board. There is a coffee maker with plenty of tea and coffee. The bathroom was small, but the shower had plenty of hot water. If you will be doing a lot of work during your visit, you may need to go to a coffee shop occasionally, as the wi-fi can be slow at times. I had a minor problem with the eco-toilet, but Nate sent someone to service it right away and checked in with me later that same day to be sure everything was resolved. I would recommend this place to someone who wants a quiet and affordable place to stay that is not too far from downtown Austin. The neighborhood is safe, and I felt comfortable walking around by myself. There are some restaurants and a Target store nearby if you need anything and it is only a 10-minute walk to the bus stop, where you can take bus number 1 downtown in about 15-20 minutes.

    Kathryn2017-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • You must book with Nate his place was clean and very much like the pictures . Easy access . Only wish there was water bottles in the fridge I got super thirsty at night and was dying hah!

Beautiful flat that comfortably sleeps up to four and is conveniently situated in Austin's centrally located and hip Hyde Park neighborhood and very close to the University of Texas, perfect for UT Football games. Featuring bamboo floors, a full kitchenette (with double burner, micro-wave, dishes, cookware and cooking utensils), colorful furniture and lots of natural light, its the antidote to the impersonal and tired big box hotel experience. We also have recently installed a brand new A/C unit, which is always a nice thing during our hot summers!! The apartment is on the same premise as the owner's home, but separate from the main house. So, they are close by if assistance is needed, but the apartment maintains plenty of privacy. It includes one full bed with a comfortable futon couch that folds out for two additional sleeping spots, and a dining table with place settings for up to four people. It also features one full bathroom with shower, and plenty of clean towels and linens provided. Close street parking. For longer term rentals, covered parking is a possibility. Located just a few minutes walk from Elizabet Ney museum and Hyde Park's quaint local shopping district, which feature's Austin restaurant gems Asti, Mothers, Julio's and Hyde Park Bar & Grill, and coffee shops Quack's and La Dolce Vita, its easy to get out and enjoy the neighborhood. Its also a short 8 minute drive or 15 minute direct bus ride to the University of Texas campus, and its world renowned intellectual, sports, museum, and arts & culture facilities. Further, given the apartment's central location, its an easy trip to downtown's eclectic, and sometimes wild, live music, entertainment, and shopping districts. Lastly, if outdoor activities are your thing, its also a short drive to Lady Bird Lake, Lake Austin and Lake Travis for water activities and/or well kept hiking and running trails. The attentive property owners, Simone and Drew, live on-site with their son, and two dogs (Jordan and Lili). So, you might enjoy fresh eggs. In short, if you're up to an easy going and authentic Austin experience for a few days (longer term rentals may be considered), this might prove a great choice. We're looking forward to hosting you! Sincerely, Simone & Drew Entertainment: TV, includes cable and streaming access to Netflix, Amazon Instant Video and Pandora. Location: Hyde Park, Austin, Hill Country, Texas, USA (20 Min from Airport. 8 Min to University of Texas. 2 Min to Nice Restaurants.) Activities nearby: Golf, Tennis, Shopping, Sightseeing, Restaurants, Kayaking, Waterskiing, Jet Skiing, Swimming, Hiking, Fishing, Fitness Center/Gym, Health/Beauty Spa, Basketball Court, Cinemas/Movie Theaters, Live Theatre, Museums Other Activities: We are close to the University of Texas football & baseball stadiums, concert hall. Weekly and Monthly rates are discounted.
  • There is no doubt in our minds, on how Drew has attained the coveted "Superhost" rating. Here is a list of why: 1. Drew is a natural when it comes to hosting and making someone feel welcome. 2. They have a great little nook above their garage that they make feel like home to the wondering traveler. 3. Drew offers little tidbits on where to go, what to eat, etc; which they all check out as great advice. What is also great is he is not pushy with these suggestions. 4. The location is perfect for someone wanting to unwind or just the opposite, someone who wants to get caught up in the buzz of the “local” Hyde Park area. You pick. 5. You are free to come and go as you please, and Drew is willing to work with you when it comes to check in and check out. 6. Drew and his family have a sustainable future in mind, and they walk the talk. This coexists exactly with their neighborhood and surrounding area (Austin only). We hope this review helps to bring more people to Drew’s little slice of Austin. Drew- sorry for the lateness of the review.

  • Drew and Simone's home is well-located in Austin, tucked back into a lovely safe neighborhood. The property itself was super clean and well-equipped for guests. The bed was very comfortable and the tv had access to Netflix and such which was great for our downtime. The only issue is that if you are temperature sensitive there is no central a/c but we were fine with the provided floor heater! Drew was very friendly and welcoming, and we thank him for hosting us.

    Sarah2015-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay! Drew provided everything we needed & the space was beautiful, quiet & comfortable. Wonderful location & hosts! Thanks so much!

  • Great space! Just like the pictures. Although I didn't see Drew until I was leaving at the end of my trip, he was very responsive. The space is great. Roomy, private, and quite comfortable. Also, the sink has an attached Brita filter which is a HUGE plus in my book! I'm definitely staying here again!

  • My mom stayed at Drew's and had a great experience. She found the apartment clean and cozy with nice amenities. My interactions with Drew were all positive. He was responsive and helpful throughout our interactions.

  • We had a wonderful and incredible stay at Drew and Simone's place. The bed was so comfortable and the space was very welcoming. We would love to come back to stay next time we're in Austin! Definitely recommend.

  • Our first trip to Austin was wonderful and staying at the Hyde Park Flat made it that much better! The place was perfect and it was exactly as it was described! Drew was a great host and I would recommend this listing for anyone visiting the Austin area! Can't wait to go back!

Welcome to our studio in the heart of Hyde Park! The casita (Spanish for "little house") has its own private fenced yard and parking. You can walk to Hyde Park Village, the Triangle or North Loop and it is minutes to downtown and UT by car.
Our private studio offers convenient access to everything you want to do in Austin. It is small (approximately 250 square feet, like a small hotel room) but what it lacks in size, it makes up for with charm (and everything you need for a great stay). The casita includes a private fenced yard with off-street parking and a private entrance. Also included are WiFi, and smart TV (no cable, but Netflix account pre logged in.) The studio has a brand new Queen sized bed. Guests with children are welcome to bring an air mattress for no additional charge, but space is tight with a mattress on the floor. Due to its limited size, we DO NOT recommend the Casita for 4 full-sized adults. It is perfect for a couple or small family. The kitchenette includes a mini fridge and microwave with a portable 2 burner hot plate and all of the windows have window coverings for privacy. As we are located in the middle of a historic residential community (and love our neighbors), keeping outdoor noise down is critical. Enjoy the deck and private yard, but if you're a fan of blaring music and doing beer bongs, you're in the wrong place. The studio is located near several bus stops in a safe neighborhood that is very safe to walk in. Thanks for checking us out! Our beautiful and friendly neighborhood is one of the oldest in Austin. It is full of tree lined streets with eclectic homes. You can walk to local coffee shops, restaurants or Shipe Park for a picnic or swim (in the summer time)!
  • This was my first experience with AirBnb. I honestly didn't know what to expect but I'm glad I tried it out. The "casita" was perfect and was exactly as described and photographed. The place was super private and very comfy. Chris left detailed instructions for everything which made finding the place, parking, etc. extremely easy. I also like that you used a code to unlock the door so you didn't feel like you had to bother anyone to get a key or be there at a specific time. I never actually met Chris but he did text me on the first evening to make sure everything was good and to offer any help if I needed. I thought that was nice. Bottom line I would highly recommend this place. Probably best for one person or a couple. The neighborhood was lovely and you could walk to several things if you wanted. Very safe area.

  • Great little casita! AC worked great, whole place was neat and clean, we had a really great time.

    Taylor2015-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was an excellent host. From my arrival, he went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. He was even able to help me find a solution to my leaving the key to my bike rack behind. The casita was perfect - clean and comfortable. The hyde park locatioin was central to everything Austin has to offer. I will definitely be staying there again.

    Robert2015-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay with Chris this weekend. The casita was perfect and Chris was very accommodating. I parked near the alley entrance on 47th and found this very convenient as well. Definitely would stay with Chris again.

    Chris2015-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • The Little Casita was the perfect place for my husband and I to stay! It was tucked away in a really cute area and we felt like we had great privacy. The home was clean and looked exactly like the pictures. It was the perfect size for us, and the decor gave the place a relaxed atmosphere. We were sad to leave, but if we are in the area again we will definitely stay here!

    Jordan2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Casita on Avenue H is fairly close to everything. The description is perfect. Pictures are on the dot, as exactly as expected. Comfortable bed, clean shower and bathroom. Parking was conveniently right in front of the casita (which can be a little tricky to get in and out of if you have a bigger car, but very doable!) Chris was a great host, very responsive. My boyfriend and I had a great time. The space was cute and quaint, perfect for our little getaway. We would definitely come back!

    Mary2018-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a quiet, private, and cozy stay in Austin, Chris's place fits that bill perfectly. Chris was easy to communicate with throughout the entire check-in process and his instructions on how to get to the somewhat hidden Casita, nestled in an alley of a picturesque subdivision north of downtown, were straightforward and easy to understand. The Casita is small, but ideal for a couple looking for a private place to stay at a reasonable price-point.

Modern, light-filled tiny house in central Austin has all the amenities of a hotel room but in a quiet neighborhood near UT. Perfect for 2 people, it's an easy walk to restaurants, bars and music, and a short drive to downtown, east side and SOCO.
The best way to experience Austin is to come and go from the privacy of your own home. This 8' x 17' tiny house has all the amenities of a hotel room but in a neighborhood setting in central Austin near UT. The tiny house is parked in a big backyard and has its own private access. It’s a short walk to popular local eateries like Olive & June and Austin breakfast original, Kerbey Lane, and an easy drive to the east side, SOCO, downtown, SXSW venues, Zilker Park, and UT activities. Off-street parking is steps from the front door. The house has an open, airy floor plan with lots of natural light, custom cabinetry and modern furnishings. The loft space is a great sleeping nook with a queen bed, sconces, and outlets so you can charge your phone or other devices at night. The shower and toilet downstairs and comes with basic necessities like towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner and a small blow dryer. There is a small kitchen with a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, and a sink for both kitchen and bath needs. The kitchen has essentials for enjoying a simple meal like plates, bowls, glasses, mugs, utensils, hand and paper towels, cutting board, knives, can opener, salt & pepper, etc. There is 138 sq. ft. downstairs and an additional 42 sq. ft. sleeping loft for a total living space of 180 sq. ft. Please remember that it is a tiny home and the shower space is smaller (3' x 3') with a curtain door to the bathroom. It may be uncomfortable if you are very tall. My partner is 6'4" and he has to slump a bit in the shower. I've had several tall guests who have not had any problem but I want to be clear in my description of the space. The tiny home has a 10 gallon water heater, which is standard for small spaces, but if you like to take longer showers, this may not be the space for you. While I have a 2 night minimum stay as a general policy, I will consider a 1 night stay, so feel free to send me an inquiry. It mainly depends on if I will be able to get free from work to clean it before you or the next guest arrives. The price includes all city and state hotel taxes. The tiny home features its own private access and small courtyard shaded by a Texas pecan tree! Parking is spacious, off street and steps from your front door. It also has a Tevo lock, so can be accessed from your smart phone or by key. The tiny home is located in my big backyard but is very private and I will not disturb you. What is so great about the neighborhood is that it is so walkable - restaurants, coffee shops, grocery store, and running trail are all within walking distance. It's close to MoPac and is a short drive to pretty much all that Austin has to offer. It's got lots of great trees, people out walking their dogs, and a nice neighborhood feel to it. If you are planning on getting around by taxi, you will easily be able to hail a cab downtown but you will need to call ahead to get a cab to pick you up from the tiny home. Most guests use Uber or Lyft. If you plan to take the bus, there is a bus stop a block from the house and other bus stops are within walking distance. While I have a 2 night minimum stay as a general policy, I will consider a 1 night stay, so feel free to send me an inquiry. It mainly depends on if I will be able to get free from work to clean it before you or the next guest arrives. Please be courteous and considerate of the neighbors.

  • Trish was an excellent host from the time of reservation through the end of our trip. She was responsive and readily available and only engaged when we inquired. We forgot to bring beach towels and she quickly and kindly provided some so that we could enjoy Barton Springs. She also provided helpful tips about local attractions. The tiny house was well-cared for and a perfect place to stay during our vacation. We would definitely recommend it and would do it again!!

    Jenae2016-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Trish's tiny house because we are considering building one ourselves and wanted to give it a trial run. I am so glad, out of all the tiny houses to choose from in Austin, we chose this one! It is so nice and clean, and actually much bigger in person which I didn't think was possible! We immediately felt at home and were sad to leave, it was so comfortable! Plus, the location is amazing if you are wanting to do anything near UT campus or downtown. If we ever need to stay somewhere in Austin this will definitely be our choice. Also, we are definitely building a tiny house now! We appreciated Trish giving us pointers on beginning the build.

    Tara2015-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Trish is an absolutely wonderful host and a stellar communicator. She was transparent in all of her interactions with me and responded so quickly to any questions or concerns I had. She takes her business seriously and will do whatever it takes to take care of her guests. As for the house itself, I stayed there for 11 days, and my partner was with me for part of that time. I/we loved it! Highly recommended! The house is so cute and has all kinds of character. It's very peaceful, and if you've got a bicycle (as I did), there is secure storage on site. I would highly recommend this lodging for pairs and singles, and if you've got any business downtown or at UT, there are a number of buses that one can catch just one block away. You don't have to use a car to stay here, which is nice because parking and traffic in Austin can be tiresome. Consider making your way around on bike and bus! That's pretty much what we did the whole time. The internet in the house is fast, too. This is a great deal. I plan on staying here again for my next trip to Austin.

    Jason2015-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house was exactly what my best friend and I needed for a short get-away. Extremely convenient location for anything you plan to do, literally right off Mopac with your own separate entrance and parking in a very pretty and quiet neighborhood. It is a very comfortable place and so bright and open that you forget how small the place actually is. It has everything you need from a hair dryer to a wine bottle opener. You even have your choice of two WiFi connections, both of which are very fast. Trish was extremely responsive in communications and couldn't have been easier to work with.

    Amber Lynn2015-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Trish's Tiny House. Great for those who are looking for a unique and minimalist experience. The home is exactly as pictured on the website. Highly recommend!

    Rachel2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • This small space is very cozy. It looks bigger on the inside. It had everything we needed. There was two of us and just enough room. We made dinner inside with a crockpot and cutting veggies, etc. I have no complaints. It is a tiny house so it is tiny. It has lots of charm. Heating warms up very quickly. Bed was very comfy. Ladder kind of a pain climbing down at night to go to restroom, but alot of tiny houses have them. It's common. The bathroom does not have a door, but has a curtain. It's bit of a surprise. The privacy in Trish's backyard and private parking was great. Right around the corner from everything! Trish I met while leaving coincidentally. She is super pleasant with a warm smile. She was very engaged and communicative. I would definitely stay there again!

    Lanesia2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute and a unique experience. Great location too!

    Stephanie2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Trish's tiny home was great! We felt like kids again getting to climb the ladder up to the bed. The photos were accurate and Trish made sure we knew where to park and how to enter. Her directions were clear and concise. The space was clean and absolutely adorable. It's also located near plenty of great brunch spots. The only room for improvement I suggested was a more comfortable bed. It was a hard mattress and took some getting used to. Regardless, we loved it and will certainly be back.

Our Cielo Room is a natural, well-lit bedroom (full bathroom, queen size bed, cotton sheets) with a designated off-street parking spot, and separate entrance. Newly built, the second story room is comfortable and lofty, with many windows looking out onto our East Austin neighborhood. Our dog is in the yard but never in the apartment. Yes wifi. No television. Yes coffee/maker, yes electric kettle, yes refrigerator, no microwave. Please bring your own toiletries; towels, hand soap, &iron provided.
  • Great space with easy check in/check out. Very convenient to have a parking spot. Ginger was great at quick and friendly communication.

    Jamie2015-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Convenient and comfy. Perfect place to rest in between all the great sights Austin has to offer. Great communication even though we never got to meet! Thanks for having us.

    Jessica2014-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed at the Cielo Room for 5 nights as we visited Austin. The Cielo Room is in a great location. It lies just outside the main spots in East Austin and a little further but about a 20 min walk from great spots closer to the main parts of the city (West Austin). Ginger was a great host let us do our thing but said hello on our first night and introduced herself. She takes care of her place and it shows. She has got some amenities like coffee and a mini fridge to help make your travels a bit easier. There were hangers there for our clothes which was perfect. Lizzie was adorable and greeted us at the gate every morning to say hello. I would not have minded an additional towel or two as we had 3 for two people so not even two each, but that was hardly an issue. The area was sweet and did not seem unsafe at any point. In a few comments below there was a mention that the neighbor hood had quite a few dogs that barked and a recommendation for ear plugs. I love dogs but this was on point, they were a bit loud in the mornings so we had to use our ear plugs. Over all the experience was wonderful and if we come back to Austin we would love to stay at the Cielo Room again and recommend it for your stays to keep it economical as you explore what Austin has to offer.

    Eva2015-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I loved our stay in Austin and it was genuinely made better by Ginger. We had a small issue with our flight arriving earlier then expected and Ginger was really cool with accommodating us. Smart choice, good area, cozy room with space.

    Dennis2016-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Ginger's place was perfect for our stay. Great location, and provided everything my boyfriend and I needed. Lizzie was absolutely a bonus. I looked forward to her greeting us with her sweetness. Would stay again.

    Ashli2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • It was a really lovely apartment and very clean. The location is good if you like walking (which I do). It takes 15-20mins to walk to Rainey Street (great night life). Just up the road (5mins) is the end of East 6th Street. I walked everywhere and didn't need to use a cab. The apartment is down an alleyway in what seemed like a safe neighbourhood. It was quite warm so most of the windows in the apartment were left permanently open. However this meant that it was pretty noisy due to all the neighbourhood dogs and the building works going on nearby (which started really early in the morning, even on the weekend). This obviously isn't the fault of the apartment but I thought it was worth mentioning. I'd definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends.

    Chris2013-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Was a great place to stay and very central to everything. Previous guests have mentioned difficulties with taxis now that uber has left the city, but an app called Ride Austin works a dream. I would walk to the end of the alley to be picked up to make it easier. As previously mentioned... coffee is tops! Also, vegan nachos from Mr Natural are delicious. Ear plugs were a must. Would stay again!

    Pamela2016-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! We arrived late at night and had no trouble finding it and getting settled. Everything was clean and inviting. It's also super close to everything which made it really enjoyable and helped us to get lots of fun things in on our short trip!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Erin's cottage. Check in was easy and the place was clean and well decorated. Location is also nice, we didn't have to drive more than 15 minutes to go to downtown, museums, restaurants, parks, etc. Only wished there had been a full length mirror and an iron but oh well, not a big deal.

Hi, I'm Adam from Austin, Texas and I am excited to host you! I built the little house on the hill as a micro home; it has everything a home has in a very small package. I truly love this home and can’t wait to share it with you! The Little House on the Hill has a beautiful country view and atmosphere just minutes from everything Austin has to offer. The little house is a beautifully hand crafted 340 sq. ft. micro home built on top of a hill overlooking the south Austin skyline. The cottage can comfortably accommodate up to 2 adults. Inside there is a full kitchen, full-size loft bed, walk-in-shower, 40 inch flat screen TV with basic cable channels, sm. couch and small folding table and chair. ********************PLEASE NOTE*********************** We DO NOT offer internet in the house, however we have fantastic LTE cell-phone service with most carriers (att, t-mobile, version, sprint) so that you can still enjoy internet through your smart phone. ***************************************************************** The kitchen has brand new stainless steel appliances, which include a microwave, gas oven and stove, refrigerator and reclaimed vintage cast iron sink set in a custom concrete counter top. Coffee maker, pots, pans, dishes and utensils are also included in the kitchen. There is also a pantry to store dry groceries. We do not have a dish washer so you will be responsible for washing your dishes before leaving. Caffeinated coffee, creamer and sweetener are also included for your enjoyment. The bathroom is full size and includes a large walk in shower with overhead lighting. The restroom is NOT separated by a door, therefore, minimal privacy is available while using the restroom facilities. This is a one room cottage; you will not want to stay here with someone you are not comfortable with, there is NO door for the toilet. Very open concept. Hand towels, bath towels, washcloths, toilet paper and hand soap are included during your stay. Please bring your own toiletries. Beside the bathroom and under the loft bed is a designated closet area which includes a cabinet for folded clothes, and a clothes rod for hanging garments. ABOVE the closet area is the full size bed, with a comfy foam mattress. Two alternative-down pillows and linens are provided. The bed is 7 feet in the air and therefore, a ladder is used to access the bed, gaurd rails are set on either side of the bed for your added safety. In addition, the clearance above the bed is only 3 feet so it's very cozy. The living room is simple with a sm. • My daughter and I had a great stay at Adam and Sabine's cabin. Cabin is in great condition, clean, great appliances, and all at a great price. The views are nice, and the porch is great for taking in the sunrise/sunset, and for stargazing at night. I will definitely stay here again in the future.

    Barry2013-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Adam is such a pleasant host. Very helpful and patient. His dogs are amazing. The house is very efficient. Everything you need is right there at your finger tips. Felt like home. The view from the back patio is amazing.

    Tracy2015-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome stay. Love the little house concept. Stayed for ACL. Nice and quiet. Not too bad of a drive to the city but it's a different experience if your looking to try something new. Very private. Would stay there again :)

    Jen2014-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Adam and Sabine responded very quickly with the response accepting our request and providing us with the information on how to reach the cabin quickly. They responded to any inquires that we had almost immediately which allowed us to feel very confident on our trip. We loved the setting of the cabin, it is close to Austin yet had a very country feel. The porches allowed wonderful peaceful quiet time. The skyline is very lovely from the porch. The cabin is well appointed and very efficient. We were very comfortable. The kitchen has extremely nice appliances and cute dishes as well as an excellent set of cookware. We did not actually cook anything, but it would have been very simple and pleasant in this kitchen. The loft bed is comfortable as long as you like a firm bed, which we do. It was fun climbing the ladder. It is well laid out for storage of clothing and gear. We found the areas of Austin that we were exploring that weekend only a short drive away and you get nice country drives to and from.

    Debbie2015-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely loved staying at Adam and Sabine's adorable microhome! It was private and out in the beautiful countryside yet still minutes from downtown Austin. The place is very clean, comfortable and has everything you need. Adam and Sabine were very helpful and attentive as well. If I ever need a place to crash again... they will be the first people I call! Thanks!!

  • I loved staying at The Little House, it was the perfect place for my long weekend in Austin. The location is great, not far from downtown or the airport. Everything is very comfortable, clean and efficiently set up. I would highly recommend this place and hope to come back soon!

    Madison2014-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great experience staying at Adam & Sabine's cozy bungalow. The location is perfect for peace and quiet, yet not too far a drive from everything there is to do downtown/SoCo. The views are fantastic, and the deck is great for enjoying a morning cup of coffee or a midnight stargaze. The big open yard was great for our dog, and they even provided a crate for him. We couldn't be more pleased with the way our stay went and would definitely recommend The Little House on the Hill to anyone for their stay in Austin.

    Garrett2014-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Adam and Sabine have the cutest little place!!!! It was perfect for me and my little man Gus, my Persian kitty! I am so happy I stumbled on to their listing!!! I love that it was out in the country, away from the city bustle but close enough I was literally anywhere I needed to be in under 20 minutes! I highly recommend staying here!

  • Ben's place was exactly what we were looking for--a comfortable, clean, and unique place in a wonderful location. Will book again.

    John2016-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Ben was a fantastic host! We didn't actually have the pleasure of meeting him, but he was incredibly responsive, flexible and nice! The place was clean and beautiful. The bed was so comfy and the shower/tub bathroom combo was amazing! We loved the location- and Ben gave us some killer recommendations. Everything was perfectly neat when we arrived. The apple TV was a nice touch too. Ben was sure that any ammenity that a hotel would provide was there, and he even included some waters, soda and coffee. Street parking was really easy and the neighborhood seemed safe to walk about in. Overall, a truly wonderful stay- would definitely stay here again!

    Chelsea2015-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a great stay at Ben's apt. The studio was as nice as its pictures, with a large spacious bathroom and closet and small, private outdoor patio. I stayed the first two nights on my own and the neighborhood was safe and easy to get to and park. Great trail nearby for morning run and close to eastside and downtown restaurants and bars. Ben was very clear and accommodating in communication. I'd highly recommend it and would stay again.

    Marin2015-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Ben had lots of thoughtful touches from candles, to a Keurig machine, to sweet treats upon arrival to bike rentals. Neighborhood had a TON to offer, plenty of amazing restaurants and food trucks, Rainey street, the river, all within biking distance. He also gave us great suggestions and was quick to respond to our messages. Thanks Ben!

    Greg2017-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Ben's place was very tastefully decorated. It felt very homey, but also had a very artistic touch. His place was very clean, and the bathroom is a must for couples. Parking was great, and lots of restaurants and bars in walking distance. I would definitely recommend his place to everyone and would stay here again!

    Jacob2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Ben's place. It was in a quiet neighborhood and everything was accessible via car. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were very soft! The K cup machine was a plus too (go to the store around the corner for some milk)

    Cristina2016-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Ben was so great! The room was a great size, well appointed and newly renovated. Ben was alway available to answer any questions and was super helpful telling us local places to visit. I have no reservations whatsoever in recommending this pad!

    Jonathan2016-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • We came to Austin for ACL. The house is in a very convenient part of town and had parking available on the street. The room/bathroom was exactly as described - very spacious and comfortable. Check-in was hassle-free and we had a great weekend!

Want to stay in the coolest part of Austin? Please check out our apartment -- a lovely and private space at treetop level, filled with light. Private entrance, large interior space, high ceilings, oceans of light from tall windows on all sides, covered outdoor porch up in the trees. Conveniently located in Zilker/SoLa/78704, one of the best areas of central Austin. Walking distance from great restaurants, bars, excellent coffee, shops, Zilker Park, Barton Springs.
Lovely, elegant, furnished apartment located in the best part of Austin. Full-size refrigerator, full stove. Fiber-optic 1 Gig internet. We're located in Zilker/SoLa, within walking distance from the many of the most famous restaurants, bars, venues, etc. If you like the outdoors, we're steps away from Zilker Park, Barton Springs pool, ACL Fest, and beautiful Lady Bird Lake's hike/bike trails. A 20-minute walk to Zilker Park (Barton Springs pool and ACL.) Please note that our space has only one queen bed and that we can accommodate no more than two people. If you want to book further in advance than we normally open up dates (typically 3 months ahead), please contact us. We can check our schedule and open dates early if we don't already have friends or family staying. Special events such as SXSW, ACL Fest, Formula-1, X-Games, football weekends, and so on, open up further in advance, and sometimes have higher rates and longer minimum stays than usual.
Strip away the glitz and glamour of nearby SoCo, and you'll find yourself strolling South Lamar's less touristy but bustling main streets. South Lamar's low-budget, low-key lifestyle is exemplified by its inexpensive eateries, cool thrift stores, and dive-bar drink specials. A rapidly increasing number of higher-end and award-winning restaurants provide other options. For those on a shoestring, abundant green space and refreshing blue water provide plenty of active alternatives—assuring a great way to spend your time without having to spend all of your money. If you like playing tennis, there are 2 free public courts just across the street, with night illumination. There's a laundromat 3 blocks down the street. You can launder things yourself, or they offer wash-and-fold service.
  • We loved staying at Dede's beautiful tower! It gets lovely light during the day, the AC kept us cool as cucumbers (a must in the summer!), we slept soundly in the comfortable bed, check-in was a breeze, and there were so many small, considerate touches (like makeup remover wipes in the bathroom, plenty of towels, a few communal beverages in the fridge). Steve sent detailed instructions and communication was always prompt. We are fairly self-sufficient guests, and we appreciated the privacy we had while staying here.

    Natalie2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Wish I could give this place six stars!!! Gorgeous place and might actually look better in person than in the pictures. There are plenty of amenities (I needed an iron and a board and they had one for me before I could even ask). Bed was super comfortable and the TV has plenty of channels. Everything was clean and there is ample closet space. The place is a bit of a walk to Lamar, but that's not a big deal at all. The area is very safe and there are very good restaurants on Lamar. The 78704 is considered the best area code in Austin for a reason. The price is very fair, too. Felt very lucky. Hosts were very nice and hospitable! The next time I stay in Austin I'm staying at Dede's place. Congrats on being super hosts!!!

    Bobby2016-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Dede's place is a charming getaway in a quiet neighborhood that served as our cozy home for the few days we spent in Austin. The downtown area is just a short drive away, and So. Congress St., with its restaurants and clubs is even closer. This is a great place for a couple who want to experience Austin.

    Tom2017-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Lucas was fantastic! The studio apartment has everything you could need and there's a lot of food/drink within walking distance. Luca was very helpful and accommodating!

    Emily2016-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was a very nice place. Great location. All you need is provided. Pleasant and helpful host. Good shower, comfy bed, nice porch. Good value for money.

    Albert2016-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We fell in love with this South Austin neighborhood during our stay. There are so many gems to explore in terms of outdoor activities, bars, food trucks, and restaurants. The hosts were accessible and interested in making sure our stay was comfortable. Their "Tower of Light" is spacious and airy. We looked forward to coming home to relax after an event-filled day about the town. Our only slight caution is for people over 6 feet tall - the bathroom ceiling is a bit on the short side! Aside from that minor item, we'd highly recommend this spot for your Austin stay - works great for couples.

    Georgia2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Centrally located to all Austin has to offer. This was our first visit to Austin. We had a car so we were able to get everywhere easily! Very clean and comfortable. Great hosts!!! Very responsive and gracious. We would stay here again for sure!!

The peaceful private backyard studio is close to everything - downtown, Lady Bird Lake, South Congress, Barton Springs, Zilker Park, Auditorium Shores, Palmer Auditorium, minutes from East Austin. You’ll love the place because of the unique space. Tucked under sprawling Southern Live Oaks trees it has incredible light, a lush queen-sized bed, comfy fold-out leather sofa bed. My place is ideal for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and it's pet friendly.
The studio is located in the backyard of my house. While it has an open feeling with tons of light - it is still private. There is a small deck and use of the back yard which has a table and comfortable chairs. The studio of itself is special with high ceiling, subdued light and calming feel. With very comfortable furniture and TV (Roku) you can kick-back before hitting the town. There is no kitchen, but there is a coffee maker, tea kettle, small fridge and a microwave. Coffee, tea and a few refreshments will be provided. The european style bathroom is spacious and private with a large-walk in shower and a place to hang cloths.
The studio is located in the Bouldin Creek neighborhood. A sweet little hood, a stone throw to downtown Austin, its full of sprawling southern live oak trees and is a eclectic mix of ultra modern new-build homes and the old style bungalows. Stroll a few blocks to South First street for coffee shops, food trucks (breakfast tacos!) , amazing restaurants (vietnamese, thai, mexican) and some boutiques. A few more blocks over is South Congress - which is FULL of bars, restaurants, shops etc. Its all walkable. Barton Springs, which is one of Austin more incredible spots (especially early in the morning or for night swims) is a 5 minute drive. Lady bird lake is a half a mile walk down the street from the Studio. Downtown, Moody theatre, East Austin, Rainy Street are a short 5-10 minute uber ride. Zilker park is a 5 mins drive (15/20 min walk). Airport is 15-20 mins away. Circuit of the Americas is 20-25 mins.
  • The search for comfortable and elegant accommodations just south of the Colorado River begins and ends with Adam’s beautiful Zen bungalow. Great location, comfortable bed, beautiful art illuminated by Austin’s natural light. Highly recommended by two experienced travelers.

    Morgan2018-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • This space was so much more beautiful in person! We loved everything about it and the location is perfect. It was so peaceful and quiet, exactly what we needed at the end of our trip. We definitely recommend it and will stay here again if it's not booked up on our next trip to Austin!

  • Staying at Adam's was amazing!! It was exactly what you would expect when staying close to downtown Austin. Everything was cute, stylish, and modern. He even outdid himself with an EXTENSIVE restaurant list

    Brandi2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space in a great, green, walkable neighborhood. Right near everything you'd want and away from the nasty downtown traffic. Came with our 6 month old and it was perfect! Adam was a super helpful host too. Gave us lots of great pointers in good eats in the area. Thanks Adam!

This tipi is one of our 10+ AirBnB units for rent at the Community First Village, a 27-acre master planned community for the homeless in East Austin. There is a nearby individual-style bathhouse and outdoor kitchen. Gardens, chickens, goats, donkeys, bees, blacksmithing, timberframing and more are happening right outside your window. It's a Village for the chronically homeless that is visited by thousands annually who come to experience the Village through our AirBnB as well as volunteer work!
WELCOME TO THE TIPI! Enjoy the unique experience of staying in an authentic American Indian Tipi! Enjoy connecting with nature through your stay inside our tipi's while listening to the chirping birds and crackling nearby fire pits. You’ll love the views, the location, the outdoors space, the ambiance. It's a great place for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids). Our large tipi's house up to 7 comfortably people and have cots inside to sleep on.You will not have to share the tipi with anyone else. Guests will need to provide their own bedding. Fans are also provided and help keep the air circulating throughout your stay! Our tipi's are adjacent to an Alamo Drafthouse outdoor movie theater at the front of the Community First Village. For more information on the village search Mobile Loaves and Fishes online.
While we are an AirBnB, there are many different exciting aspects to our community. There are tiny house communities around the country, but there are none on 27 acres. We will grow to 250 people this year. The Community First Village is a $17 million dollar community specifically built for the richest people in Austin, but we only rent to the chronically homeless. Everyday we get visitors from around the country for tours and for the wisdom we've received in the last 18 years of working with the chronically despised of our city. Our experience is that transformation is not only possible, its beautiful; for you, for me, and for everyone. We are established by Mobile Loaves & Fishes, an Austin-area, Christian nonprofit.
  • Barret was a great host, I highly recommend staying here. The showers were the nicest camping showers I've ever used. The Teepee was great, after a cool shower and the fans it amazingly enough got kind of chilly. I would stay here again.

    Nikki2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was more than we could have expected for the price we paid. So many more fun activities and things to see and do than were listed. Great culture, fun atmousphere. Host Barret was nice, other guest were nice and quite, really wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you!

    Frank2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Bring your own lighter if you want to start a fire. They have lots of fun areas to hang out and socialize with the other guests/residents. I hope you like chickens/roosters :) we do and it was awesome!

    Lauren2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! The whole community is great with lots of cool tiny homes. We stayed in a teepee, watched a movie at the outdoor theatre, and strolled around the whole site looking at tiny homes and all the cool gardens etc. We highly recommend staying here and we'll be back soon!

    Christian2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • I found Community First! Village here on AirBNB, and when I arrived I realized I had read about the Village in the media. It's a spectacular place and a wonderful find, I wish I had known about it before staying downtown. I stayed in one of the teepees, and was lucky enough to stay on a Friday night (outdoor movie night) where popcorn and s'more packages were available from an airstream in front of the outdoor space. Chickens, goats, tiny houses, s'mores, great community— just a spectacular place and amazing time.

    Dani2017-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, friendly and caring people, good to see some people that care and want to help.

    Adrian2017-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Community First! Village is such a cool place. The grounds are amazing and as other guests have stated the pictures truly don't do it justice. All the people I interacted with were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a Tipi for the weekend and it was just as described. I will say it's not a bad idea to bring your own extension cord just in case. We had to use all the plug outlets for the fans that were provided and then had no outlet to plug in our own items. The movie was awesome, the on site food truck was great, and the place itself is amazing. I am looking forward to my next stay.

My place is right in the middle of vibrant East Austin. You’ll love my place because it's an amazing Airstream we call Olga – The Gypsy Queen. Not a single detail has been overlooked. We've designed this minimal space to provide one of the most unique, chill, and fun experiences in town. Couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and those with furry friends alike love this place!
Kick back and relax in our stylish Airstream! Small, but packed with everything you need for comfortable stay including TV with AppleTV and Netflix, complete kitchen with dinner ware & utensils, and more!
  • I would recommend this place to anyone! The airstream is equipped with everything you could ever need. Great location and decently priced! Will be back :)

  • Great location. Perfect for a short stay in Austin.

    Gilbert2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • The place was so cute! We brought our 50 pound boxer and never felt too cramped. The lot/backyard was lovely as well. The location was great, no more than 10-15 min drive from anything we wanted. Everything went smoothly and we can't thank the hosts enough!

    Hilary2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying in the Airstream. Definitely not the most spacious of living arrangements but an impressive amount of ingenuity went into to fitting all those amenities in a small place. Comfortable bed/couches too!

    Eli2017-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the airstream, it's beautiful and neat. There are Airbnb guests in the house to which this airstream belongs sometimes, so heads up!

    Miroslav2017-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fun stay. The place was perfect for what we needed. Suggest only using this rental if you have a car.

    Noah2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • It was a sublime experience in so many ways. Location, location, location. It was centrally located for all things Austin in just a short car ride. Olga was well appointed with everything you need from a television to a sound system I used with my phone. The bed was restful. I could go on and on but my suggestion would be to experience it for yourself.

A wonderful little retreat right in the middle of Austin. The cabin is only 180 sq ft but has everything you need. Twin bed with 400 thread count sheets, fine towels, coffee & tea setup. While very simple, it is about half the price of a hotel.
The "Zen Cabin" is a tiny 180 sq ft hideaway & is perfect for ONE person. It is a serene, quiet space (heavily insulated soundproofing) right in the center of town: Hyde Park just north of UT. Walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants and grocery stores. 10 minute walk to UT. Bike distance to downtown. Note: **ONLY ONE GUEST ** There is a full bathroom and twin bed, and it is adjacent to a large garden with many seating options that are you are welcome to use. I look forward to hosting you! Features: *Free WIFI *400 thread count sheets *tiny fridge *coffee/tea set up *plush towels *off street parking *on main bus routes *towels and toiletries provided
Hyde Park is one of the favorite neighborhoods in Austin. Most homes date from the 1920s and there are large established trees. The neighborhood contains Central Market North for gourmet groceries & Wheatsville food co-op for your hippie fix. There are also many great restaurants such as VinoVino, Asti, Julio's, Uchiko, Tacodeli, Zen. In addition, it is just north of UT Campus.
  • This is a lovely little cottage, perfect for 1. There is an off street parking spot. The cottage is in a nice neighborhood, walking distance to a Starbucks and a nice French restaurant. Tracy fitted the cottage with just about anything you could possibly need for my stay. Thank you!

It has everything you need -- a full, not cramped bathroom right inside, comfortable bed, WiFi, desk -- and is very conveniently located, especially if you want to be proximate to UT. The space is immaculately clean and a good size for one, not cramped. Check-in and -out were a breeze and everything went extremely smoothly.

  • Tracy was quick to respond, accommodating, and a generous host. The Zen Cabin fit my needs perfectly: quiet, private, and just spacious enough. It was really lovely, and I would book again in a heart beat if I was back in Austin.

  • A truly marvelous little spot, completely self-contained and tranquil. I spent hours just chilling. Clean, bright, secluded - and a great shower! I couldn't have asked for much more. Note: I didn't get to do much neighborhood exploring. It's definitely a bit out of the way but I was able to walk to the UT campus and Lyft was a great way to get to downtown & back. Tracy was super accommodating and friendly.

  • Nice, peaceful and quiet. Great alternative to high priced downtown hotels.

  • Lovely place! Really a truly special little cabin. Take her at her word that it really is best for a solo traveler, as it's a twin bed. Bed was very comfortable, good shower, lovely setting, and a great location -- more residential, so a nice escape, but still walking distance to plenty of cool places and easy to get around. Tracy was very accommodating and easy to get in touch with. Highly recommend if you find yourself in Austin!

  • Staying in Tracy's tiny cabin was delightful! Although it's small, the space was extremely clean, quiet, and located in a great Austin neighborhood - perfect for a solo traveler who wants a nice, affordable place to stay and plans to spend the majority of their time exploring all that Austin has to offer! Tracy was very communicative leading up to the trip and offered me a hairdryer and iron when I told her I was going to be in town for a wedding. All in all, a fantastic Airbnb experience!

The house was immaculate, the neighborhood adorable and safe, and our check in very easy. Crystal was always quick to respond, accommodating, and very sweet. We all loved the house! The extra amenities left by previous guests and by Crystal were excellent and such a nice surprise - I needed Tylenol in the middle of the night and had forgotten mine. I found some in the bathroom along with other little necessities one might need. The neighborhood didn't look like much when we first arrived, but there are some absolute gems right down the block. The Craftsman has great cocktails and service, La Barbecue was hands down the best BBQ we ate while in Austin, and Mr. Natural had VEGAN QUESO (I can't eat dairy!). It was an easy and quick drive to everywhere we needed to go, and having a garage to park in at the house made our stay stress free. Thanks Crystal!

I can't imagine staying anywhere but the garden cottage the next time I'm in Austin! Marcella and Meredith are wonderful hosts -- thoughtful, helpful and a pleasure to talk to and spend time with-- their children are the sweetest and their pets are awesome. The cottage is cozy, the coffee great and the homemade toffee out of this world. Plus the turntable and albums...too cool!
