when you get to Ollantaytambo first you imagine it is, be within the story. Walking through these narrow streets , all built with stones and have next to water channels , which were built in the Inca era. CHASKA WASI is within the APU Pinkulluna . opposite the hostel we can see the tree Pisonay with more than 160 years old. There are also hikes of 1, 2, 4 and 6 hours. quarries, Inca bridge, Intipunku , Pumamarka and native communities ( Willoc , Yanamayo Patacancha ) ollantaytambo enjoy !!!

  • Great place. Amazing views. Perfect for a couple nights of relaxing in a cute little town.

  • The house is well equipped and our room was beautiful. The stars at night were breathtaking. There was some construction next door and it's on a pretty busy street, so the noise was a bit of an issue. Katty is a gracious host who helped us tremendously on our trip.

    Victoria2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Katty was great! She stayed up late to greet us when our schedule changed and woke up early to help arrange a taxi to the airport. Very friendly. Beautiful views and wonderful room with a big bed. Thanks!

  • Katty and David were extremely kind and helpful with all of our preparations for getting to Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu. David made us breakfast and had a lot of helpful suggestions for the town. A great placer a couple days and a good place to launch a trip to Machu Picchu!

  • Room: The room is beautiful with such breathtaking views being in the Sacred Valley. The biggest and most comfortable bed of all places we stayed on our trip - room was stocked with adequate blankets (if needed) and towels. We only stayed one night, we would have loved to have stayed a couple more at least. Location: Just a few minutes walk from the main square of Ollantaytambo - perfect. There was a karaoke or something on the night we arrived which was loud, but was switched off at 11pm. Host: Katty was so friendly and welcoming when we turned up late (and drenched) from our day at Machu Picchu. She stayed in touch on airbnb about checking in arrangements. Would definitely recommend staying here!

    Nikki2017-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Katty was great, and the apartment was beautiful. A quick walk from town and nice view. I would definitely stay there again!

    Kimberly2017-04-23T00:00:00Z

A quaint 4 room Bed and Breakfast uses the foundations of an Inca Building to to set the tone for your stay in "The Living Inca Village''. Breath taking views of the ruins on all sides and a lovely garden are made complete with fast Wi Fi. Clean.
We are in the old town of Ollantaytambo in an Inca building. The old town is a area of town that has all original Inca buildings and streets, we are on the upper edge of town where taxis can reach our door but otherwise these streets are pedestrian only. An Inca canal flows past one of our property lines, bringing a relaxing sound of water to the place. The contrast of having great showers and internet access while being in the old town of ollantaytambo is wonderful.
It is the only living Inca city, one of the most beautiful urbanization in the Americas, and full of Peruvian culture behind every door.
  • Eddy is just the perfect host! This room is a short walk away from the center with lovely views over the ruins. It's beautiful. However the WiFi was out at that part of the town so Eddy offered us an upgrade at his city center B&B. We slept so good before going up to catch the train to Machu Picchu! Eddy also prepared a bag with breakfast and introduced us to the lovely vegan restaurant Alma Amor who organized a fantastic lunch to bring on our trip. We can highly recommend both of Eddy's places.

  • Excellent hosts!! They made us feel at home. The view of the room is beautiful, the area is great and the breakfast was a feast fit for kings! The water pressure and temperature wasn't the greatest but we still enjoyed our stay at Casa Patacalle. Muchas gracias!!!

    Catalina2017-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • very much enjoyed staying here, the host was very helpful in arranging taxis and day tours for me. the room was nice and clean, with private bathroom. hot shower was a bit difficult to use, but understandable in a small town like ollanta. would highly reccomend!

    Samantha2017-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Eddy's place. Eddy runs another place in the square so was not always at home, but that didn't bother us as we were just happy going about our business. The house is walking distance from town and the view from the room was beautiful. The room itself was quiet and surprisingly warm with hot shower. The garden was a nice place to chill and enjoy the scenery. We had a early morning train to catch to catch and Eddy had organised a packed breakfast for us.

  • Je recommande définitivement.

    Louis2018-03-05T00:00:00Z

  • This place is amazing! Breakfast every morning, beautiful view and rooftop garden making this place super special. I definitely recommend staying here when in Ollantaytambo.

In contrast to Cuzco, the small village atmosphere, lower altitude and easy access to incredible hikes has prompted many of our guests to feel more comfortable here and thus extend their stay. It was the town for the Inkan Nobility and High Priests and once you are here it is hard not to notice the magic. • Winn, Wow, and team were amazing hosts! We were welcomed and immediately felt at home! We loved our comfy bunk beds, the amazing people staying there, and the coca tea! Thanks for a great stay in Ollytantambo!

  • We stayed two nights. The hospitality, cleannes and the way they share and explain their lives were great, Nice experience. When we left before breakfast we got a nice bag with a drink, egg and toast.

  • This place and people are amazing!!! We had such a good time at Casa de Wow!!! The owners welcomed us warmly when we arrived, showed us around the place and gave us some great information about the neighbourhood. The rooms we stayed in (two separate stays) were comfortable, quiet and sweet. We had great interactions with Winn and Wow who are wonderfully helpful and welcoming people. We also found that this place attracted really good people as we met other good-hearted visitors while having a nice breakfast in the kitchen. The place is right outside the heart of the town, right across from the ruins and a short walk from the train station. Winn and Wow let us keep our bags there while we headed to Machu Picchu for the day and gave us some good tips about how to spend our time in Peru. When we arrived late back from Machu Picchu. Wow came to meet us and let us into the house which was very kind of him. If you are looking for a genuine, positive, comfortable and quiet place to stay in Ollantaytambo, this place is for you!

  • Vanessa answered my request in good time and I was arriving early in the morning at Cusco and wanted to get to Ollantay tambo the same day. She said that someone could pick me up which was very helpful after a very long bus ride. All the communications were so helpful and friendly. I loved the view from the room and I loved the peace and quiet. I wish all places would ask for 11pm to 8am silence. It was just so perfect for the tranquillity of Ollantaytambo. Everyone in the household was friendly. I felt very comfortable, very relaxed and slept so so well. Thank you so much Casa de WOW. The time I spent with you was WOW!

  • The room had a great view of the Ollantaytambo ruins, and the hosts were wonderful!

    John2014-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • I think this is a very good value place for Ollantaytambo. Positives: Outstanding view from the room of the ruins (location is beautiful but that's everywhere in the town), kind staff (I interacted mostly with Sonia and Vanessa who are very nice people, Spanish-speaking), great breakfast with local honey and peach marmalade plus herbal and coca tea for whenever you want. Negatives: Shower wasn't very warm either time (the second time I asked about it and she did something with the gas so it was hot for about a minute and then freezing cold while I washed the shampoo out of my hair), and there were little ants in the kitchen, bathroom, and even the bedroom. All in all, I do believe it is a good value place in Ollanta with a lot of positives.

  • Carlos and Lucy are super nice people. They tended to our every need. The place is more like a cool/hip bed & breakfast than a hostel; you have your private room and private bathroom, which was very convenient. The place was clean, comfortable, and close to the train station for Machu Pichu. I would definitely recommend staying here.

  • Staying at the Janaxpacha hostel was one of my best experiences in Peru! Carlo is an exceptional host and went out of his way to my stay so good. His place is clean, safe, and in a good location. Ollanyatambo is a magical little village and he can provide great recommendations for where to go in the Sacred Valley or the rest of Peru. He's extremely friendly and welcoming! Enjoy your stay at the Janaxpacha!!

    Tyler2016-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Carlo and Lucy made me feel so welcome and at ease during my stay! I was nervous traveling alone, but felt very safe in their cozy location. The to go breakfast with a hand written note was such a sweet touch before I left for Machu Picchu, and the homemade breakfast on my last day was delicious. I am thrilled with my experience!

    Sabrina2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying here very peaceful and a 5 minute walk to the plaza. Carlo and Lucy are great people, very helpful. Carlo even packed us breakfast for our trip to Machu Picchu. Carlo is a chef and made us a delicious Peruvian dinner, probably the best meal I had in Peru! The bedrooms are comfortable and very clean. I would recommend this place to anyone.

    Ivan2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Carlo and Lucy were amazing hosts. They were so attentive to our needs. I recommend staying in Ollantaytambo before making your way to Machu Picchu. It is a cute town, safe, clean, a lot of character, several restaurants and stores, and ruins nearby that you can walk to and explore. Janaxpacha felt like home away from home. I like that it was down the street, but walking distance to the other restaurants and other hostels. It made it a quiet place to stay in. The rooms are clean and comfortable, there is hot water, and Carlo and Lucy made breakfast for us in the morning and lunch for us to take on a hike. I had some of the best sleep there after our long hike to Machu Picchu. Carlo set everything up, our drivers from the airport, to Machu Picchu, and back to Cusco. They recommended an excursion to a waterfall and brewery nearby that was beautiful and worth the hike, but it is a tough walk, steep at times, so make sure that you are feeling up for it. We were able to go to Machu Picchu and back to Ollantaytambo in one day via car. It is a long trip (4 hours) then a 2 1/2 hour hike to Aqua Calientes, then you have to take a bus to Machu Picchu, it is possible to make it back if you need to, but if there is no rush, I recommend resting up in Aqua Calientes for a night. We really enjoyed our stay at Janaxpacha, I would absolutely return.

    Carla2016-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, son and I spent six nights at Janaxpacha. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our time there. The location is perfect for exploring the Sacred Valley. There are interesting ruins in Ollantaytambo and Carlo and Lucy arranged three tours for us. One was a partial tour of the valley and another was a tour on our drive to Cusco. The tour we enjoyed the most was the third tour which was a full day spent hiking to an incredible waterfall and visiting some ruins. We had an excellent driver, Edwin, who was also our guide. Everything about our stay with Lucy and Carlo was perfect. Carlo cooked two incredible gourmet dinners for us and both Lucy and Carlo were extremely helpful giving us tips on things to do and places to eat. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean and pleasant. Lucy and Carlo made every effort to give us a great experience. I highly recommend staying at Janaxpacha for a visit to Ollantaytambo.

    Trish2017-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Good place to stay. Great host. Wonderful trekking on top of the house towards one of the ruins.

    Pedro2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Carlos was an awesome host and very friendly. 2 out of the 4 stars are just for him! If he could pay a little more attention to maintaining the property (like fixing bath fixtures, adequate space heaters, better wifi, etc.) we would have been even more happier. Overall for the cost, it was a decent experience.

    Oscar Orlando2018-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The room is on the top floor of a small BnB run by Eddy. We found it to be clean and charming with an excellent view of the archaeological site. The room was equipped with extra bedding (it gets cold at night at this altitude) and everything in the bathroom worked well. The BnB itself is on a quiet lane a two minute walk from the main square - close to the centre of town, but far enough to be peaceful. It also has a roof top garden. Eddy provides a simple breakfast (bread, coffee, cheese, eggs and fruit) and grants guests access to the kitchen, which is very useful as the restaurants in the town are surprisingly expensive (we found them to be the same as Toronto prices). Eddy was very prompt and clear with communications and even let us check in a few hours early, which was very much appreciated as we'd been on the road for 24hrs+.

    Simon2018-07-02T00:00:00Z

    Raeesa2018-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Eddy's place was nice and quiet with a great view, and breakfast in the morning was also very good.

  • Eddy is a great host. He replies promptly to any questions. We decided to take the bike ride from Abra Malaga at the last minute and he accommodated us on a wonderful mountain bike tour. We would love to stay here again.

    Linda2018-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • If possible, make time to stay in the extraordinarily lovely and interesting village of Ollantaytambo! We walked along the stone-paved roadways and looked out on the Incan ruins by moonlight. Moreover, we found restaurants and shops that met our needs. The train station is just blocks away and collectivos are standing by just steps away from Eddy's place such that you can easily move about the area. The house is a repository for antique textiles and other provocative and engaging artifacts. The room was charming from top to bottom. But it is Eddy and his family who we will long remember for their graciousness and willingness to share information about their treasures with us. We highly recommend Eddy and his family's hospitality.

She is very accommodating and relaxed and of course she is able to help you out with everything you need to know. The room is incredibly spacious and the house is very cosy. • Went to Peru with my girlfriend for 8 days and this was a solid airbnb. We mostly stayed in private residences though and would prefer them. This was more like a hostel/hotel. We had a private room, which was nice (bath smelled, but they all do in Peru), but you are surrounded by lots of other rooms so it can get a little loud at times. We had ear plugs so no problem sleeping and I think people were respectful of noise at night. It was one of the few places that included a good breakfast which was nice. Most are just bread and tea/coffee. They had eggs, pancakes, fruit, cheese, cereal, etc. It's super close to the main square and walking distance to train to Machu Picchu so that's great. I would recommend overall.

  • We stayed here the night before our journey to Machu Picchu so we would be within an easy distance of the train station for an early start (430am). The location was perfect as it was a 5 minute walk to the train station, so we could just get up and go. There was someone there when we got in late and when we left early who offered to help with anything we needed, which we appreciated. We were only there for the night, but the grounds/facilities seemed nice. If there was more time, we would have enjoyed exploring a bit more. Would recommend.

  • Great location. Great place that has lots of potential. I just wish it was better cleaned and by clean, I mean detailed cleaned. Especially the bathroom & shower.

  • We only stayed one night and caught a train to Machu Piccu. Very clean room. Great location, host was very friendly and helpful!

  • Stayed in a private double room. Location is near everything in the small town of Ollantaytambo. Rooms are large and clean. Bathrooms were some of the nicest hostel bathrooms we encountered in Peru. Showers were hot. Finally you get a great breakfast each morning that is actually worth eating. Coffee, yogurt, toast and coffee were great.

    Derek2017-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house and the host are kind to provide many useful tourist information

  • Nice hostel near center of town. Easy check in, kept our luggage for us, just generally pleasant.

  • Really nice place in Ollaytambo.

    Ronan2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed Ollantaytambo however we found the room to be much less than we expected. The room was significantly different (worse) than was represented in the description/photo. If we had the room (or a comparable one) from the description it would have been a great place.

    Andrew2018-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Not a easy place to find. Host didn't respond until we call Airbnb to find out on (Hidden by Airbnb) where it was, a motel. Quiet but lack of amenities.

  • This is the place to stay in Ollantaytambo if you are going to Machu Picchu! The house is very nice and our host was unique. He helped us making a tour in the Sacred Valley of the Incas for about $80 for 5 people. We were able to visit 4 sites in the valley. He gave us good advices for restaurants and we had a very good chat together around a camp fire! Such great experience! Thanks for everything!

  • Irvin's home is a beautiful 10 minute walk from the main square. You feel transported when you arrive - from the mountains surrounding, the sunlight pouring through the home, the animal friends throughout the garden - you can feel the good energy immediately. In addition to a great home, Irvin is a true pleasure who we feel lucky to have met. He loves Ollantaytambo and sharing it with others. Irvin is a tour guide so he has a bunch of activities he can take you on. We took one horseback ride and one hike with him - both magical. We went off the beaten path and saw things our eyes and hearts will never forget. If you're looking for an authentic adventure for the soul, go to Irvin's home. He also has a wonderful friend Henry who drove us many of places - including a tour when we traveled from Ollantaytambo to Cusco. He even drove us from our airbnb in Cusco to the airport! It was amazing to feel we found friends to rely on while away from home. I will be telling all my friends about this magical place, 100% the highlight of our Peru trip. Irvin, gracias para su hospitalidad! Nunca te olvidaremos!

  • Book here! Despite it actually being a hotel, the owners are amazing and so sociable. The wife arranged a taxi tour for us to Salineras and Moray for just 100 soles. He also took us to the train station for our train to Machu Picchu. They gave us great recomendaciones of what to do, they always have tea available and he rooms are so clean! It was so great we came back for another night after Machu Picchu!

  • Great place to stay for a great price! I stayed for two nights; basic room, but everything I needed-- warm bed, hot shower (though you had to wait for the heat sometimes), working wifi. The place is more like a small hotel-- not a home stay, but Jesu and Yos were helpful with everything, and very kindly made me a great breakfast to go both mornings, including at 5:15am when I was leaving for Machu Picchu! I'm a light sleeper, and noise didn't bother me-- the dogs and people/street sounds stopped around 9:30/10pm. Great location, easily walkable to the market/main square and 15 minutes to the train station. Overall, a bargain place to stay for a good night's sleep!

    Marissa2018-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing: clean, close to everything, awsome breakfast included in price. The host were very helpful and answered my countless questions. I definitly would recommend this airbnb.

  • I really enjoyed my stay here! And definitely will be coming back. The location was perfect for my needs of wanting to explore the local sights and culture. It was a perfect place to come to home to after a long day of exploring. And the hot water was amazing to access after a long day! They really were kind to me and are truly good people who genuinely care about their guests. They were especially generous with understanding my changing dates and also being vegan. I can’t wait to return! Thank you for everything!

Excelente! Muchas Gracias!

Welcome to our home! The rooms are comfortable and have a magnificent and wide view of the mountains. We have a great point of view. Our house is traditional of Ollanta and is a quiet area,it is located outside the center of the city in the pyramid of Pakaritampu The house is shared with us since we live on the site. Accommodation is good for couples, adventurers, business travelers, families (with children)
our neighborhood is very quiet, we live near the farms so you will always hear the trill of birds the crowing of roosters
  • Perfect! It was my best experience within 3 weeks in Peru! Very loving family, super nice room and no noises, not as cold at night and not hot during day thanks to thik adobe walls. Very clean room and beds. I enjoyed healthy meals with the family every lunch for a reasonable price and went with Ana to her garden and Chacra where she grows own food and food for her animals. All family members are very kind and loving and we could talk many clever and interesting things (very different to other peruanos I met) I learnt a lot and we shared many nice moments also at the evenings in her bright and spacious dining room. All made with love, coffe and cake etc. I also could use the washing machine for a really good price. I recommend this place to everyone 100%! Lukely I speak well spanish cause only the daughter speaks english. But sure even without a lot of communication you will feel at home and you will understand all you need even if Katia is at work. She also replies to (Hidden by Airbnb) during work and wifi worked perfect sll times. Hope to may return, wished I could stay longer in this peacefull paradise and environment. ☀️ A small grocery shop is just around the corner, very kind family too and reasonable prices.

    Pfeiffer2017-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had an incredible time here- we actually wanted to stay longer we loved it that much! We didn't speak a drop of Spanish, but the family made us feel welcome and at home. They are truly friendly people- as well as all the pets!

    Stuart2018-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for an authentic Ollantaytambo stay experience then this place is for you. Friendly family and very accommodating. Walking distance to everything but yet secluded enough to come to after a long day. Water in shower was a little too cold for our liking. Overall a great experience.

    Alex2018-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Best. Hosts. Ever. Hospitable, quick responses and they really make an effort to connect with you. The home is modest, but the treatment outshines it all. In our case she even made us a typical meal, brought us local teas for the altitude sickness, and even offered to store our luggage to avoid hassles at Machu Pichu. When we come back to Ollantaytambo we are definately staying with them again.

    Pancho2017-12-08T00:00:00Z

Super recomendo!!!

It is not a shared bunk room. It is downstairs and has two wonderful “Wow made” bunk beds with top quality mattresses and wool blankets for warmth and natural comfort. This room uses shared bath which has gas-fed 24 hour hot water shower. Location Information: Once considered an afternoon stop-over on the way to MachuPicchu, more and more visitors are deciding to make Ollantaytambo the primary destination from whence they can experience the Sacred Valley and all it has to offer. In contrast to Cuzco, the small village atmosphere, lower altitude and easy access to incredible hikes has prompted many of our guests to feel more comfortable here and thus extend their stay. Ollantaytambo is called “the last living Inka village” as it has been continuously inhabited since the 13th century. It was the town for the Inkan Nobility and High Priests and once you are here it is hard not to notice the magic. So come walk the streets of gigantic jigsaw stonework or try some chichi (Inka Beer- fermented corn) with the indigenous people who are the direct descendents of the Inkas. Let us introduce you to some of these wonderful local people who can guide you into their world, provide cultural connection within traditional communities where tourist seldom venture and lead you on stunning treks through the natural wonder.

  • O hostel é bacana. Fica a uns 7 minutos do centro caminhando. O chuveiro é meio maluco, esquenta, esfria.. rsrs..

  • We had a wonderful time staying at casa de wow in Ollanta. Wow and Steven were great and Patricia went out of her way to make us feel welcome - taking us around town. The beds are comfy and the room is so cosy and beautifully decorated. We could not have asked for a better place to stay here.

  • Very good communication. Really fun staying at casa de wow from the initial greeting by Turtle to the turret top explanation of the hidden figures in the surrounding hills by Wow himself. It felt like a home away from home with great beds and a family feel all round. Strongly recommend this place as a place to catch your breath before or after MachuPicchu.

  • We loved our stay. The views on the roof terrace were stunning. Our room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. We had a delicious breakfast every morning. The location was perfect. Nice and quiet at night and close to walk to the Ruins and the town square for shopping and restaurants. The town is lovely. We had a great time. The staff were all helpful and friendly. We would love to come back!

  • We stayed 5 nights here to base for our visits to Machu Picchu, Ollantaytambo, hikes throught the valley, Pumamarca ruins, Pinkuylluna and the markets. Make sure you ask for one of the rooms on the 3 floor preferable #301 or #302 so you have a view of the ruins on both sides. The patio is fantastic with stunning views of Ollantaytambo ruins. Breakfast (eggs, bread, coffee, tea, meat, cheese, fruit, cereal, yogurt, juice) is from 6:30 to 8:30 but they made it even earlier for us (6am) the day we went to Machu Picchu (they offered, we didn't even ask). Quiet location. 3-5 minutes to the main square, market. 10 minutes to the ruins. Would highly recommend staying here. Booked it for $50 CAD a night on Airbnb. It's higher on their website. If you want to eat really cheaply, you can get soup and a main (beef, chicken or fish) for 6 soles in the market 2 & 3rd floor. Fruit Smoothies for 3-4 soles. Or set meals at places like Apu Veronica for 15-20 soles.

  • Juan's place is absolutely ideal! It was hands down our favorite lodging while in Peru. The rooms are spacious and have great views. There was plenty of hot water and everything was very clean. It is a very quiet location. They provide a hearty breakfast and are helpful with any questions you may have. We really enjoyed spending time on the terrace. It was relaxing to sit up there, gazing at all of the beautiful mountains and ruins that surround Ollantaytambo. We would definitely stay here again!

A piece of History in Time, this Inca store house is a place for artists, garden lovers and people of all types who enjoy nature or history. With flowers and fruit trees everywhere, we are home to hummingbirds and amazing views and hikes right out the door. A couple of blocks from the main square and 10 minutes from the train and Inca ruins
Check out these reviews: Definitely the best place we stayed on our tour through the sacred valley. Our only disappointment was that we booked just one night here. This compound takes up a full block of ollantaytambo, hidden behind ancient stone walls and nestled into the best part of town. It's less than five minutes by foot up from the plaza de armas (town center) and located just beneath incredible ruins that are viewable from multiple vantage points throughout the property. The space is perfectly rustic, private and accessible via a cobblestone street that is only wide enough for people. The absence of cars made for a super quiet retreat. The rooms have private entrances from an outdoor terrace, comfortable beds (a rarity here) and loads of charm (white, sparse, high ceilings, wooden beams and old wooden floors). The shared bathroom downstairs was never once in use when we needed it and we enjoyed bumping into fellow travelers in the shared kitchen. The yard and garden area is immense. There's a fire pit, hammock, local herbs for picking, a pet sheep and tons of space to read and write. Nicole was incredibly welcoming and her kids added loads of charm. Get a room here before it books up months in advance. Incredible value for the price. Incredible compound in a magical setting. Photos don't do the place justice. Rooms are private, big and extremely comfortable. The vibe is so so good and the hosts are top notch. Marta cooked us a delicious breakfast and we had no idea this was included in our stay! Rooms are accessible via their own outdoor entrances, so while the listing says shared, this isn't really the case. It's far more private than anticipated. We didn't mind the shared bathrooms as each one had a shower with ample hot water. Good luck gathering the motivation to leave and explore. We were so comfortable relaxing in the garden and could have easily dreamed away for days. A plus! This was my best airbnb experience to date, and I've had some pretty good ones, so that's saying something! The house is absolutely magical. As soon as you walk in the door to the courtyard you feel like you've stepped back in time. The rooms and architecture are beautiful, with gorgeous beamed ceilings. The garden is a true sanctuary, overflowing with delicious fruit, useful herbs, and a very playful sheep. We loved lounging around outside, surrounded by flowers, with the mountains and ruins in the background. We loved looking out from our windows onto the cobblestone streets of Ollantaytambo and falling asleep to the sound of the ingeniously-diverted river that runs through the town. Best of all is Martha, who runs the house for Bill and Nic. She is so lovely and helpful. Her advice, care, and friendly conversation made our stay in town so special. The house is perfect for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, a cozy base exploring the sacred valley, or even a spot for a destination wedding (it definitely crossed our minds...). We were on the fence about whether or not to visit Ollantaytambo, and I can say without a doubt that it was one of the highlights of our trip. Make sure you book for at least two nights. You'll want as much time as possible at this incredible hidden treasure!
Ollanta is an old Incan town built on Incan ruins. Our house is surrounded by a completely intact inca wall and has a true Inca Canchon (storage house and space) inside the walls.
  • We stayed in this lovely garden house during the "rainy" season so the garden was in full glorious bloom and fortunately we had very little rain, mainly sunshine. It was a great place to relax before and after our tip to Machu Picchu. The train ride from here to Aguascalientes was spectacular. The house keeper Martha made us breakfast at a time to suit us and on our last day found us a taxi to transfer us back to Bill and Nic's house in Cuzco where we had left our luggage in storage. Martha organised an itinerary with the taxi driver so that we got to see Moray and Salineras and had a tour of a textile workshop on the way. These were things we wouldn't have managed on our own and it really made our holiday.

  • If you are considering a jaunt through the sacred valley, you might not find a lovelier place to stay than Bill and Nic's. Not only is it well situated to various scenic hikes, the train station is a mere 10 - 15 minute walk. But the best part of the house is the quiet one finds there. It felt, at moments, like I was in a small sanctuary, and it really made my stay in Ollantaytambo that much more meaningful. Lastly, Martha was incredibly helpful in showing me to the house and in getting me acquainted with where things were and how they function. If I needed anything, she was just a call away by house phone.

  • This place is truly wonderful. I can't imagine a better location to serve as my base camp for the weeks that I was in Peru. The town is small and beautiful and smells like campfire all the time. Bill and Nicole's place is just a few blocks up from the Plaza de Armas - a perfect location. It also has the most amazing garden with fruit trees and geraniums and peace lilies and hammocks to relax in after a long day of hiking ruins. You'll be able to spot their place from any of the nearby hies because of the massive area of green. Martha was absolutely amazing. She can help you with anything you need from directions, to arranging a cab to take you on a ruins tour for the day. She also made breakfast every morning. Fresh bread from one of the shops in town with jam and butter, coffee, and eggs if you want them. There's also fresh fruit like bananas and oranges. My room was great and clean and plenty warm. I would recommend ear plugs because you never know when a festival might be going on in town. The WiFi is spotty but never bothered me. The showers we always clean and had hot water and decent pressure. I was traveling alone and I never once felt unsafe or uncomfortable. I can't say enough good things about my stay in Ollantaytambo. Whenever I return to Peru I will be sure to make a stop here.

  • Bill and Nic were very helpful. Martha, their housekeeper very nice. The room is spatious and rustic. The garden is great to relax (we felt in love with the domestic sheep !) Breakfast is simple but with good products.

  • We had a great stay at the Secret Garden house! Martha was wonderful and the property was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful! We were fortunate to see butterflies and hummingbirds while there and we were welcome to pick leaves from the muna and mint plants, which made for fantastic tea! The room we had was nice and big and had a balcony which overlooked the grounds. It was pretty big and the bed was comfortable. The bathrooms were clean and the shower had nice hot water. The setup was perfect for my husband and myself. You can see ruins up the hill from the bedroom window! We feel lucky we were able to stay there and it definitely made our stay in Ollanta memorable!

    Jenn2017-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is without a doubt the most privileged house in Ollantaytambo, with its huge green garden at the foot of a cliff with important ruins. Gorgeous and central location.

    Ignacio2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Me and a few friends rented the whole house as our base of operations to explore Ollanta, Machu Picchu, and more of the Sacred Valley. We only stayed a few nights, but would definitely have liked to stay longer. The house is in a great location, just a short walk from the plaza and maybe a 15 minute walk at most to the train station. The views are amazing, as the house is located close to some of the ruins (the "free" ruins... just a short walk from the house and you can start a hike to them), and it was especially peaceful in the mornings. The rooms were nice and they supplied some good heavy blankets for the cold nights. The only warning about the rooms I could give is if you are taller than 6 feet, request a room that has beds without footboards. Since it was just me and my friends, I could switch rooms without any issues, but I tried sleeping in one the first night and it was a bit rough, and it would have been difficult to stay rested if I was stuck in that room. I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Bill or Nic, but a woman named Martha runs the house for them and she was great. She was very warm and friendly, and communicative during our whole stay. She made breakfast for us in the mornings (or a box lunch for our Machu Picchu day) and was accommodating to whatever time we preferred to eat. Bill and Nic were also very helpful and communicative leading up to our stay, and I really appreciated how quick they were to respond to any questions I had. Overall, we had a great experience staying here and it would be great to stay there again someday.

Full Moon Eco Lodge is the perfect place to experience the true Sacred Valley and the living Inca village of Ollantaytambo. We are located in the heart of Ollantaytambo, but have a peaceful and quiet setting with views of the Sacred Valley.
The double room accomadates two individuals with a private bathroom. Included in the price is breakfast and use of *NEW IMPROVED WI-FI* in common areas.
  • A short walk from the main town square of Ollantaytambo, one enters a doorway into the walled retreat of Full Moon Eco Lodge. You follow a brief pathway through lush gardens and overhanging trees to a peaceful tranquil getaway. The lodge building is inviting. The staff kind, thoughtful, relaxed yet attentive. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a nice breakfast in a separate outbuilding. Restful hammocks available for relaxing and soaking in the sunshine and beautiful views. Great experience, lovely people, close to town, highly recommended.

  • This place was such a gem. I will spare you the amazing little discoveries about the area and tell you this: this is the place for you. They have hammocks, the most incredible view, you can walk to the train station, great food, and shopping. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. They served breakfast and even made us a brown bag for the morning we left to MP with eggs and fresh fruit. The place is cozy and has showers with hot water and good water presssure. Highly Recommended.

  • We had a lovely stay at Elder's place and they were amazing hosts. Both Elder and his wife were extremely hospitable and made us take away breakfasts before we went to Machu Picchu and on our early departure. Elder makes his own art and musical instruments which are super cool and fun to play... they also offer ceremonies with a sweat lodge and other native medicines. The only bummer was super slow wifi and cold showers. Otherwise amazing place & people!

  • Great place and location! The site is very lovely and amazing! Breakfast is great :) They have rooms to accomodate everybody. The place is a little away of the centre of the town but it definetly worth it. It is more quiet without the noise of the cars. Thank you for your hospitality.

  • Awesome place, nice relaxed vibe

  • Staying at the Full Moon Lodge before heading to Machu Picchu was a smart move. Well priced and situated in a beautiful yard just far enough away from the noise of the main town. Our room was comfortable and Elder and her family were very friendly, helping arrange travel for us, made a breakfast we took on the road, and had a bon fire at night.

  • Elder was a great host. His place was clean and convenient. I highly recommend one of his mystic tours. Sacred valley is the perfect place for it.

Check-in fácil, rápido e sem burocracias!

  • We only stayed for one night but the room was perfect, more than we expected and the value is excellent. We had the terrace in front, a good sized room, quiet, and so far the best shower we’ve had in Peru (pressure and temperature). Would definitely recommend.

5 minutes walking to the ancient town of Ollantaytambo, A bit treacky to get, so better call us from the plaza de armas, and Benito will come to pick you up. Ollantaytambo is visited mainly walking, no taxis needed.
  • The moment we arrived, Benito found us at the main Square and showed us to the farm house. The farm house is a cozy, beautiful and peaceful place. Pascual lives there with his son and wife, a very friendly dog, a funny young lamb, 4 horses, 2 cows and chickens. They are wonderful and very helpful people (Pascual would fix any inconvenience as soon as possible) and we enjoyed a great stay.

    Antje2016-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • If you are an urbanite, this place presents an opportunity to reconnect with nature and life as it was for centuries past. We loved the grandeur of the setting, surrounded 360 by craggy mountains with Incan ruins visible in several directions. Horses, cows, and calves are present and there are interesting buildings on the land. It will be a rewarding lift to your spirits to stay at the farmhouse in Ollantay.

    David2017-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, about a 5 min walk to the main plaza. Clean and comfortable with nice warm blankets. The host was great with communication. One thing to note, all rooms are separate and you have to go outside and use separate keys to access each.

  • We had a wonderful time in Ollantaytambo, and a large part of our experience was due to the hospitality of Walter & Paul. They made the entire experience easy and enjoyable. We really felt as if we got to experience 'real' Ollantaytambo life, which was awesome. The night we arrived, Paul met us at Plaza de Armas, and took us to the house. He took time to show us around and really make us feel at home & comfortable. He and his family were delightful. Both Paul and Walter use (Hidden by Airbnb) , which made communication easy! On the day we were checking out, we wanted to see a few more sites. We were allowed to leave our bags at the house as long as we needed, which meant we could enjoy the Ollantaytambo ruins without having to carry our heavy packs - a life saver! The space itself was perfect for what we needed for our two night stay. There is a large living room, two bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen. We were so busy while we were there, we really only used the bedroom and bathroom - which was more than enough space to relax! We loved that we were in walking distance to everything (downtown, the train station, the ruins). You walk out of the door and you can see ruins everywhere. Ollantaytambo is beautiful, and this house really allowed us to experience all the beauty the town has to offer! Thanks for your hospitality! (Please tell Paula we say hello from the USA!)

  • An excellent stay at Walter's farm in Ollantaytambo. Walter was available always by phone and email with great advice and help when it was needed. Thanks for the help with Machu Picchu tips and advice. Benito and Pascual were ever helpful as well. Benito met us at the Plaza de Armas and took us to the farm. There was a small water problem that they set to and fixed straight away. And even at the end of our stay, Pascual was there at the Plaza getting us the cheapest ride back to Cusco. Thanks to Walter, Pascual and Benito for making our week in Ollantaytambo enjoyable and carefree. Definitely recommend staying there.

  • Such a delightful stay at this charming farm house in Ollyantaytambo. The room and bathroom were perfect-- clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed visiting with Benito, Paul and the others who were working at the farm. The place where the horses stay has a beautiful view of the ruins, and there are even baby cows. Great TV and recently got unlimited internet so we could watch Netflix on the TV using chrome cast at night too. Very close walk to town, but still feels peaceful. Highly recommend!

    Lindsay2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • The farm is about a 10 minute picturesque walk from the downtown. My husband and I and our 2 kids stayed for 2 weeks. We enjoyed the quieter location as opposed to downtown though you could hear dogs barking at night sometimes. Nicanor and his wife were excellent hosts. The WiFi had a strong connection and my kids were able to watch Netflix so as to not get too homesick. We found this location to be an excellent value as we were able to have a separate bedroom from the kids and have a kitchen/living space so as to cook our own meals. Our bedroom which had the attached bathroom had a heater. The kids bedroom did not have heat, but the Alpaca blankets on their beds kept them warm and toasty. If we ever return to Ollantaytambo we would stay again!

    Claire2018-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • At first I had a hard time finding a way to contact Walter once in Ollantaytambo (I couldn't get my cell phone to work), but the minute I got wifi he was able to send Benito to find us at the main plaza. Overall, the farm house was a truly wonderful experience. We managed with our broken spanish- the entire family welcomed us (I think it was the owner+Pascual's family). They showed us our rooms, even cooked us a delicious tipico meal (boiled potatos, cheese, corn, ham, steak, chicken) and gave us lots of coca tea. We felt very welcomed. The rooms were exactly what we needed- and the shower even had a water tank/controller and had lukewarm showers (like the rest of peru). There were insects, but that really can't be helped. Just make sure to have your screen up and wear bug spray/tea tree oil. I didn't get any bites from here. Joboca (the dog), and the other animals were lovely to watch. This place was the most peaceful part of our Peru trip, I would highly recommend this place to those open to staying on a little quiet farm, fresh air, lovely views all around. Do not expect luxury hotel furnishings, but instead a beautiful and highly eager to help family and modest settings. We loved it so much.

Our cozy home is a place to relax and feel one with nature. The house was constructed from natural and recycled materials that insulate the house, keeping it warm at night and cool during the day. We live "off the grid" without electricity and running water. We are in an ideal location for campfires and stargazing.

  • This airbnb is amazing. We recommend it 100% and would definitely come back. The house and its location is amazing, Lucho and his girlfriend are the best hosts we ever had. They are super helpful, sweet and will do everything to make you feel good and comfortable. If you are looking for a great experience, the best nightsky and awesome talks, stay with them. Also the house is clean, warm and looks beautiful from the outside and inside. Thank you so much for this unique experience.

  • Lucho and Chloe are the best host. They are the kindest people on earth. The house is warm and they are even warmer. I miss them so much. The surrounding of the house is beautiful, I have taken a lot of good pics, the stars at night and the landscape in day time. I wish I could stay longer, sadly my travel time is short.

    Yan2018-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lucho’s earth house is the best air B and B we’ve ever stayed at. We loved getting out of town and enjoyed the simple life: no electricity, (hot) bucket showers, and the most incredible night sky. Lucho was so incredibly helpful during our time in Ollantaytambo and even cooked us a warm breakfast in the morning. We felt right at home in his place and wished we could have stayed longer. By far the best and most relaxing part of our Peru trip! Thanks Lucho!

    Michelle2018-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Lucho's original house was really nice ! The view is breathtaking and the place is quiet and near from the center Lucho was really welcoming, and he had good advises on what de could visit and how :) He is truly friendly and we enjoyed sharing time with him See you !

  • This is a very special spot! We loved getting to stay in a quieter, more rural-paced part of town (the main plaza feels very touristy and high-paced, stocked to the brim with italian restaurants and souvenir stands). Staying here gave us a really different feel for Ollaya, and we ended up really loving our time here. We spent a single night (arrived in the afternoon by collectivo from Cusco), and took the 5am train to Aguas Calientes. We're a male and female couple and decided to do the 20 minute walk at 4am, which felt safe (and beautiful stars!). The house itself is beautifully situated in an open field, looking down the Urubamba valley. Know that there isn't running water or electricity, but Lucho is well prepared with solar lights and basins/bottles of water. The space was clean, Lucho was welcoming, and we enjoyed the selection of books in the living room area. We would absolutely stay here again if we were back in Ollaya and would recommend the same to travelers passing through!

  • When Luis picked us up at the plaza and walked with us to his house we were stunned by the beauty of Ollantaytambo. And when we entered his place it was like we stepped into another wonderful world of peacefulness. We didn't miss running water or electricity at all. There was always enough fresh water Luis brought up every day and the candlelight just makes it more magical! One night was booked but we stayed for a week. We just felt so welcoming and comfortable with him. We cooked together and I learned how to prepare some traditional peruvian food. It was a week full of joy, laughter and we learned interesting new things about Peru and the area of Ollantaytambo. When we left we left new friends behind. We hope we will see each other again somewhere in this beautiful world.

  • Lucho’s house is a gem. Definitely stay here if you visit Ollantaytambo! We wish we could have stayed longer to get to know Lucho better and enjoy his house even longer. The sky at night is beautiful and the view from the bedroom is incredible. Lucho left some bread and egg for breakfast which was very nice. Would definitely recommend and encourage everyone to stay there!

  • What an experience! If you're looking for a truly unique stay in an incredible part of the world you can't pass up a chance to stay with Luis. His house is incredible. He built it himself over the last year. So many personal touches. The earth walls kept it much warmer inside than I expected on such cool nights. The view of the valley, the mountains, and the fields out his front door is breathtaking. Luis was a gracious host, offering to pick us up in town and drive us to his place (though it's only a 10 minute walk from the center of town). He also helped us better understand his choices to live off the grid. It's amazing how little we need to be happy. Thank you, Luis, for sharing your world with us. If you're visiting Machu Picchu, there's no better way to relax after the long hike than with a stay at Luis'.

  • There are two highlights of this listing 1. The house which is a mud house surrounded by beautiful mountains and 2. Lucho (Luis - the host) and the cute friendly dogs ( the dogs are friendly and come to you only if you wish to play with them) . In the beginning, we were a little bit wary about how we will live in a house without running water and electricity but from the moment we entered the house, we simply loved it. It was cold outside but warm inside the house due to the mud construction. There was no running water but enough water for all daily activities. Lucho was very thoughtful for our needs with respect to water and basic uitlities. Lucho, himself, has built this house and shared many interesting stories. Breakfast in early morning sun with the view of the magnificient mountains and the starry nights made our stay very memorable. it was an experience for us to learn how we can easily (and happily) live with limited means. Thank you very much Lucho for hosting us. Note to fellow travellers: the house is ten minutes walking from the Plaza (the centre of ollantaytambo) and walking on unlit streets with a torch. it was safe and we didnt experience anything bad. all in all, it was a 5 star all the way.

  • This place is amazing. Luis the host, built the house himself and you can see the great pride he takes in this through cleanliness and decor. The candle light is so nice and peaceful. He made a point to take us around and show us an incredible stay. As we left he was heading to the market to get things to present his next guests with a traditional Peruvian New Year. Most unique home and best host I’ve ever stayed with.

The room has a small balcony that at dawn has an incredible view of the mountains. This Queen room is ideal to spend your time in Ollantaytambo and has everything you need for your comfort as private bathroom with hot water, to have a very relaxing shower and a comfortable room with queen bed. Breakfast is included between 7am and 9am.
  • Clean and comfortable room located on a quiet side street close to the plaza, shops, and restaurants in Ollantaytambo. Just a short 10 minute walk to the train station that will take you to Machu Picchu. Good continental breakfast with eggs every morning. Catty was an excellent and helpful host. She booked transport for us to and from Cusco, booked an excellent tour of the Sacred Valley sites, printed out our train tickets, and even packed us a sack lunch when we left before breakfast to catch our train to Machu Picchu.

Recomendo!

  • The reviews are honest about this stay. We enjoyed ourselves and the staff was wonderful. It can be noisy if your an early sleeper do to the bar next door. If your to too tired to care this place is for you. Wifi and hot showers were great!

    Teresa2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute hotel located just steps from main streets in Ollantaytambo. Room as clean. Electronic heat (important for chilly nights in the winter) and gas heated water. Breakfast was nice & simple. Hotel staff was helpful in giving suggestions and helping to arrange transport. One night the power went out in the entire town but our hot water still worked because it was gas operated. Would definitely stay here again!

  • La Casa del Abuelo Is THE place to stay in Ollantaytambo. Beautiful, clean, perfect location, great breakfasts, and wonderful hosts. I stayed there last year during a trip to the sacred valley and loved it so much that when I came back this spring, I didn't even consider looking at another place to stay. My partner joined me this time, and he was just as impressed with the place as I am. We can't wait to go back!

    Brittany2016-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful surprise this place was. Tidy, modern, and lovely people to boot. Ollantaytambo is a perfect little town with good pizza and cozy corridors. Cattys place was 2 minutes from the main square and had soft sheets and hot showers which is all i wanted. Great place for a nice price

CHASKA WASI Te va a encantar debido a the room made of pure stones, giving the feeling of being part of the mountain !! with the typical view of two tree called PISONAY, which has over 160 years of antiguedad.desde our place we have a path that leads directly to the Pinkulluna colcas. from where you can have a nice view of the town and in front of our door you can find a hundred niches that come from the time of the Incas, Come be part of this mountain and feel their energy!!!
when you get to Ollantaytambo first you imagine it is, be within the story. Walking through these narrow streets , all built with stones and have next to water channels , which were built in the Inca era. CHASKA WASI is within the APU Pinkulluna . so we have our own entrance on the colcas . opposite the hostel we can see the tree Pisonay with more than 160 years old. There are also hikes of 1, 2, 4 and 6 hours. quarries, Inca bridge, Intipunku , Pumamarka and native communities ( Willoc , Yanamayo Patacancha ) in general can ask how to get to places. Ollantaytambo is the last living Inca town!
  • Katty was warm and welcoming, and Chaska Wasi was lovely! Compared to Cusco, it was SO quiet and peaceful -the quietest night we had on our entire 2 week visit to Peru; so refreshing! Not only was the room great, but it is located just a few minutes walk from Ollantaytambo's main square, and spectacular Incan ruins. The only issue we had was the wifi in the room, which was spotty except right next to the main window. But it didn't bother us very much considering how much there was to see and do during our stay, and there are plenty of common areas in Chaska Wasi where the signal is much better if you want to lounge and catch up on the interrnets.

    Nicholas2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We felt really welcomed! Really nice room, in a quiet place, a bit far from the city centr. Cozy, but small if you have much luggage.

    Rodrigo2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I spent the night here after going to Machu Picchu, and it was exactly the thing we needed after all that walking! The room is exactly as pictured, the bed is super comfortable, and the location is fantastic - you can walk to the main square in a couple of minutes, but are just far enough away that you get some peace and quiet. The view of the mountains from the window of the room didn't hurt either! We had no problems with the wifi, Katty explained that it works as long as you are near the window but might not be so good elsewhere in the room. She was a lovely host, really helpful and friendly, and gave us some suggestions for things to do at our next stop in Urubamba. We would definitely recommend this place!

    Gemma2017-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Katty's place in Ollantaytambo is a unique and beautiful property in a really charming, fascinating town in the Sacred Valley. The structure, made of rock, butts up against a mountain where a small path leads straight to the (free-access) Incan ruins of Pinkuylluna, just a 10-15 minute hike away. Ollantaytambo itself is a town which can't be ignored, with a rich history that blends with the present in a way that you won't find in Cuzco or Aguascalientes (Machu Picchu). The hosts at Chaska Wasi (the hostel to which our apartment belonged) were all incredibly accommodating, insightful, and friendly. My girlfriend and I only had the chance to stay for one night, unfortunately, but will definitely go back again given the opportunity.

    Eliot2018-05-17T00:00:00Z

    Juliana2018-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Katty's place is about a 5 minute walk from the main square where you can find delicious restaurants, great local markets, and fun shops. Katty was so gracious and helpful when it came to getting around Ollantaytambo and when it came to the property's amenities. She and her helper Miriam were extremely welcoming and made us feel right at home. We had privacy in our little stone room, which was very wonderful after our long days exploring. One of our favorite parts was her dog Whiney who is such a happy and funny puppy. We would stay here again.

    Maria2018-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Place was very comfortable and similiar to a bed and breakfast. Katty went out of her way to make transportation accommodations for us and to make our stay comfortable. It was a little chilly, but the bed was very warm and the shower as well. Her place is very convenient to the train station to Macchu Picchu. We had a very nice stay and would recommend.

    Caroline2018-04-27T00:00:00Z

The double standard room can be found on the third floor of our home and from that floor you can see the fortress from the terrace on the third floor. It is a small and cozy room but clean and comfortable with a private bathroom.
Gesamthaft empfehlsenswert

  • I stayed at Catty's place on 2 occasions in a week. I really enjoyed how friendly and helpful both Catty and her staff were. The rooms were also clean and comfortable (may need to clean under the bed a little more). The toilet was adequate and the water ran hot. On an occasion I had to leave at 530am, they even offered to pack me breakfast, which was a nice gesture. I wasn't expecting breakfast but it was included supposedly. Location is convenient, near the ruins and close to many eating places. It is a 10 minute walk to the train station. I will highly recommend a stay here.

    Wanida2018-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Catty’s place is next to everything- however the town is pretty small and easy to get around. Catty’s English is amazing which was very helpful to us. They have reasonably priced laundry service on site which is very convenient. It was a little loud at night with dogs and people outside. The breakfast was delicious and they make you eggs to order which was great.

• We booked and confirmed a two day stay with the host. We booked this establishment because they host is an author, Winn, and has written on a topic of personal interest. I wrote to the host before booking advising of my interest in meeting with her and in discussing her book. My reservation was extended accepted. I received an email from the host providing details of my booked room which included a private bathroom and also providing options for my airport pick up. We arrived at the airport and waited for an hour before realising that the host had not arranged our airport pick up. We then arranged privately for transport to the host accommodation. When we arrived, Luciana greeted us asking if we had made a booking to stay a the Casa. I confirmed that we had and that I had written confirmation of reservation. She checked her bookings and confirmed that, infact, we had booked. She asked us to wait in her living room and returned about 15 minutes later and led us to our room. When I enquired as to why we did not have a private bathroom as per my booking, she advised that AirBnB may have erred in the confirmation correspondence that I had received and promised that if her other guests did not arrive, that she would move us to the bedroom with private bathroom. We did not hear from her again on this issue until we left when she apologised for the mess up with our room and wished us well on our onward trip. During our stay, we were invited by Luciana to a talk on the history of the Incas by Wow. We rushed for the 5pm appointment - nobody arrived - not even Luciana or Wow. Needless to say, we never did meet Winn during our entire stay and no mention was made of my emails to her regarding our meeting and planned discussions. What an awful trip! And one for which I have saved for and planned for for many many years.........

  • We were welcomed by name at the door. We had arrived late and they still let us all take showers and brought us tea. The house is unique and open. Breakfast was fresh with jams and bread from the locals. We received perfect suggestions for how to spend our day and transportation.

    Mary Beth2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Winn and Wow were amazing hosts, super welcoming and always willing to answer our questions and give us advice on where to visit and how to go about it. the kitchen is a nice common area where to meet other travellers and have a tea from their wide selection. the breakfast is great, even left us doggy bags to take with us for our early morning train to Aguas Calientes, and leaving our luggage there was no problem. home away from home in Peru!

    Anne2016-07-11T00:00:00Z

    Thiago2015-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay! The host was very kind and had breakfast packed for us as we left before breakfast in the morning. Very clean and beautiful room!

    Darcie2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Pro: - hosts were always nearby to assist or just to talk. PlayStation time was offered! - steaming hot shower (need to let water run for some time) - quiet area of Ollantaytambo - hot eggs for breakfast Con: - sound proofing is poor (if others are noisy, you'll hear it) - could have used more light and a dresser/table to place our things Note: - gets cold at night as there is no central heating (I'm a pampered Canadian.) - mattress didn't agree with me or my girlfriend. (Pampered Canadians?) - wifi is slow. This is an Ollantaytambo thing. I hope someone can pass this on to Sonia who made us breakfast each day and did our laundry (~$1.75USD per kg): "You are the cutest. And muchas gracias!"

  • This is an incredibly charming hostel. It covers the basics: warm beds, hot water, quiet setting. And then it also blows your mind with the rooftop terrace that overlooks the ruins and mountains and even has a hammock for relaxing at the end of the day. Five minutes walking distance from main square. I can't say enough about the kindness and attention we received from the innkeepers. They took care of every concern we raised, including running out of hot water after the first person in our party took a shower. (Water heater needed more gas.) They also found a taxi to take us to Cuzco and pick us up right at the hostel, so that we didn't have to lug our suitcases to the main square. The garden is simple, but meticulously maintained and it's flowering bushes smell divine, especially in the early evening. Would choose to stay here again in a heartbeat.

  • Rustic room, beautiful garden, close to the center of town, hot water, comfortable bed. There was some mold visible in the bathroom but the room was quite tidy otherwise. It was a good value.

This room has high vaulted ceilings with sky lights for a bright airy feel. Each side of the bed has a reading light and a bed-side table and each sleepy head gets two pillows. A private bathroom is attached with gas-fed 24 hour hot water shower.
  • Casa de Wow was the perfect home-base during our time in the Sacred Valley. Winn and Wow are warm and open people, totally helpful, friendly and accessible-- lovely all around. Winn was the best host you could ask for: She goes out of her way to make sure your stay is a great one (for example, packing breakfasts to-go for early-morning departures to Machu (Website hidden by Airbnb) like visiting a friend. Ollantaytambo is a super-charming town set in a breathtaking mountain valley. It's filled with beautiful Inca stonework and historic sites, amazing babbling canals running down almost every street, and wonderful hikes in the surrounding hills and mountains. Basic necessities can be found in the town, from ATM machines to a local market and grocery stores. There are plenty of restaurants, mostly aimed at tourists, offering good, serviceable food, though don't expect any groundbreaking meals (little surprise that in such a small town, most of the locals eat at home...I'm sure that's where the truly great food is). We highly recommend Casa de Wow!

  • Casa de Wow is an amazing place to stay in Ollantaytambo. First off, Winn couldn't be nicer. She was just over the top accommodating, friendly and just overall a good person. Although I didn't get to talk to Wow much, he speaks to you through his amazing art, clothing and furniture. It's everywhere! The casa? It's sooo nice and super cool. Wi Fi, hot showers, good breakfast, walking distance to the plaza, and nice hosts, i can't ask for much more. The bonus? Winn is from the same area that i currently live, so we had lots to talk about. If you find yourself in Ollantaytambo I highly recommend staying here.

    Ted2013-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay at Casa de Wow. Winn was incredibly friendly and hospitable, even brewing up some mate de coca tea when I had a pounding headache from the altitude. The beds are handmade and very comfortable (firm, not saggy and no shortage of pillows). The place feels more like a home than a hotel and is perfectly located right by the downtown area. Will definitely stay here again if I find myself back here!

    Lawrence2013-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! Winn is the best host you can imagine!

    Filip2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed with Wynn at Casa de Wow for one night but wished we could have stayed forever! Wynn is a wonderful host and her place is amazing. We would recommend this place to anyone visiting the beautiful town of Ollantaytambo!

    Rachel2013-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • If I were to take this trip again, I'd stay at casa de wow again! Clean and extremely friendly, Ollantaytambo is the best place to explore the sacred valley from!

    Marina2016-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Casa De Wow is a well located, rustic home away from home. The hosts are welcoming and helpful with sharing information about the area and the best way to spend your time here whether you're staying a while or passing through to/from Machu Picchu.

    Chris2016-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to position yourself for a trip to Machu Pichu and save some money in the process. We found the place to be a tremendous value and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Our cozy home is a place to relax and feel one with nature. The house was constructed from natural and recycled materials that insulate the house, keeping it warm at night and cool during the day. We live "off the grid" without electricity and running water. We have hot bucket showers, potable water, solar lights, usb chargers, and pocket wifi. Our home is slightly removed from town (10 min. walk), surrounded by farms and mountains. We are in an ideal location for campfires and stargazing.
***This listing is for a single bed in the shared guest room.*** The guest room has 2 single beds and one double bed (sleeps maximum 4 guests). If you are a 2-3 person group please see our two other listings to book more beds in the shared room. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/24200436 - double bed https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/24162254 - single bed To book as a private room, please see this listing: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/20207257 Tantakuy is a small place with a total of three rooms. The hosts' room is separated by the shared kitchen/living room. On the other side there is the guests' room.
  • My stay at the Tantakuy hostel was an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience. My hosts, Chloe and Lucho, were friendly and very knowledgeable of any and all tourist locations as well as local shopping and eating establishments. The house itself was unique, comfortable, and clean. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe in their home. The view at night of the stars and moon was absolutely incredible- it was my favorite part of my stay! I loved my stay at the Tantakuy Hostel and would recommend to anyone.

    Alice2018-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lucho’s place is better than as advertised. It is clean and tranquil, with three lovely and well behaved dogs. Bed is comfortable and House is warm enough at night. No running water and bath is by bucket. but not a problem at all- something to experience yourself. I’m a female solo traveler and had a chance to meet Lucho’s friends and had a bonfire at night. Lucho is very friendly and helpful. Place is well located and around 15 Mins from town. However it may not be easy to find at first so coordinate with lucho for your check in!

  • This beautiful homestead is locate 13 min away walking from ollaytantambo site I would consider this one of the most sacred places on earth, the walk at night is truly special for those who like to see the stars. The house was build by lucho and his own hand. the love a the way his pay attention to details is fascinating. The farms around, allows you to appreciate the biodiversity of the local culture. If you really looking for a peaceful place this place will bring you the perfect energy, highly recommend it.

  • Magnifico host!

    Mario2018-08-05T00:00:00Z

  • The neighborhood is super wonderful, if you are a Inca fan who is chasing the ancient master masonry. The house is surrounded by Roca Wall style ancient megalithic classic neighborhood. The WiFi is spotty (or actually doesn't work that night,) but I think it related to local DSL service and local provider's cheap Chinese WiFi router. ( We were in telecom business for a while, I will not blame them. ) Overall, I will wish we can stay a few days more but not just one.

    Jacques2016-04-29T00:00:00Z
Simplemente perfecto.

  • Eddy is an amazing host, very attentive, communicative, and thoughtful. The location is very near the center of town, plenty of restaurants and shops. The train is a short walk. Eddy arranged for private tours/drivers and our guide Carlos was really great. The building is really cool with lots of unique touches. We were a bit cold because of the structure opens up directly to outside but we cozied up under the blankets! Overall a good stay!

Full Moon Eco Lodge is the perfect place to experience the true Sacred Valley and the living Inca village of Ollantaytambo. We are located in the heart of Ollantaytambo, but have a peaceful and quiet setting with views of the Sacred Valley.
This room accomadates 1 individual with a large bed. Included in the price is breakfast and use of *NEW IMPROVED WI-FI* in common areas.
  • Cute little place. Adequate furnishing. Good location (2 minute walk from center of town). Helpful and friendly staff! This was a stop on the way to Aguas Calientes/Machu Picchu and it worked out well.

  • Wonderful stay! Wonderful location - so very tranquil!

    Stephanie2015-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The room was very basic (bed and table) with its own bathroom. It was very quiet and the staff were very friendly, I didn't have any problems checking in. The only drawbacks were there was no wifi, it was broken when I was there. Also there was not hot water, but more like slightly non-cold water.

    Ryan2014-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • The hostel was great, friendly, quiet, off the beaten path. The town is tiny so the train is walking distance. Breakfast was cooked eggs, bread and coffee or tea. There is no heating but covers are very warm. The volunteers were very sweet and helpful. The lodging is one block from the market so we had instant access to food.

    Monica2015-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • we stayed just 1 night so we didn't meet the big boss, though the place is very pleasant, clean and confortable, we had a good time with the volunteers helping there, they leaded us to Elder's bar, we enjoyed the athmosphere ( especially the pole that goes from the first floor to the ground) a fine place to stay

Monica is a great host! She made me feel very welcome. Upon arrival, she offered me a coca tea to help me adjust to the altitude and took all the time necessary to answer my questions about Cusco. She had prepared a lovely map of the surroundings and gave suggestions where to go, where to shop etc. I am particularly grateful for the great communication when my flight schedule got messed up by the airline. She was very accommodating to changes on short notice. Would totally recommend!

Dee and Efrain, we loved your beautiful cottage. It was clean, spacious and offered everything we could need. It was more than we had expected. As was said by many, the grounds are beautiful with many sitting areas and gardens to enjoy. Dee and Efrain offered much more than a cottage. Before we arrived and during our stay, Dee gave us many suggestions of places to go and see. Many of these were not in the tour books and we truly enjoyed the Peruvian experiences. Dee also suggested a driver who took us to all over and his prices were very fair. Dee and Efrain were so helpful in our stay. We highly recommend Dee & Efrain's cottage to anyone traveling to the Sacred Valley. Thank you again for making our stay in the Sacred Valley so wonderful.
