  • April and Ken are exceptional hosts. They have covered all the bases with hospitality. The guest house is the perfect, comfy retreat during any kind of visit to NOLA. Since ours was filled with the typical festival activities, it was such a pleasure to be able to curl up on the couch with a book and make our own food when we wanted to. The location is wonderful for exploring and a short walk to many attractions. Since it was chilly, we didn't have a chance to take a dip in the pool but I'm sure it's delightful on a hot day. We loved our experience staying with April and Ken!

  • What a great place right in the heart of everything in New Orleans! The guest house is super cute and comfy, with everything you could possibly need for a night or a week. April and Ken were great hosts - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • Our stay was great. Good location. Everything looked the same as in the photos and Ken & April were great hosts.

    Charlène2015-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Super convient location near the French Quarter. I walked most days there instead of using Uber. The guest space is awesome too! Very cozy, cute, with up-to-date amenities. April and Ken also give you great tips on restaurants and bars that are local. I really enjoyed my time at their place!

    Kayla2018-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place very close to everything. Friendly hosts, quiet place cared for with thoughtful touches. Nice to have the bikes to ride around town with.

    Cee2018-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed this little space of our own! It was away from loud down-town hassle but a quick Uber to the fun! For our first experience in “Nola”, it was wonderful!

    Misty2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • April and Ken’s place was great and exactly as described. We loved the vibe and personal touches. They are great hosts and would definitely stay there again.

Guest area features private bedroom and bath with its own private entrance. Only 2 miles from the French Quarter by streetcar. Enjoy complete privacy in the guest space or visit with the hosts as you desire. New Orleans license number is 17STR-06526.
Private bedroom and bath in our charming shotgun house on the Canal Streetcar line only 2 miles from the French Quarter. Guest area features private entrance, lovely patio, beautiful antique furnishings, 11-foot ceilings, petite chandelier, comfortable and clean queen bed, and cozy guest robes. Internet, cable TV, parking, oscillating fan, iPod player, white noise machine, hairdryer, fridge, coffeepot, crockpot, and snacks are provided. The space has a peaceful, airy feel and is flooded with natural light. This listing is unique in that you have complete privacy from the main house. The guest space has its own exterior door, and you are free to come and go as you please. The garden path leading to your room features motion-activated lighting if you are returning after dark. The room is located down the garden path in the rear of the house. We welcome special requests and will do anything we can to accommodate you. The room is ideal for one to two people, but we can also provide a travel crib and other baby items if you wish to travel with your child. We love hosting guests for honeymoons, anniversaries, and other special events. Our home is located in the historic Mid-City neighborhood, which was one of the first neighborhoods to spring back after extensive flooding due to Hurricane Katrina. Mid-City is located, as the name indicates, in the middle of New Orleans on what was once the backslope of the Mississippi River natural levee. Our home was built around 1910 and is a typical New Orleans-style shotgun house. In New Orleans at the time of construction, the shotgun house utilized a minimized lot frontage, on which taxes were based. The houses were also built without hallways and closets, which would have been counted as rooms for tax purposes. The origin of the building style and the name itself may trace back to Haitian influences on New Orleans, as many Afro-Haitian slaves lived in this area. Our house was recently featured on the HBO series "Treme", as the law office of the character Toni Bernette (played by Melissa Leo) and also as part of the interior of the home of Creighton Bernette (played by John Goodman). Guests are free to have complete privacy or to meet with the host as desired to obtain recommendations for food, drink, and attractions. Check-in is offered via a lockbox. Rates may vary during special events and holidays. Our home is located just off the parade route for Endymion, the largest parade of Mardi Gras. The festival grounds for Jazz Fest are just over 1 mile away.
Mid-City is a diverse neighborhood with its own distinctive flavor. Bars and restaurants in this area are largely patronized by locals, so the neighborhood provides an escape from the more touristy areas of the city, while still allowing easy access to the French Quarter via the Canal Streetcar Line.
  • I had a great time at Erin's place . The room is just as pictured and is very convenient for the streetcar . I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay .

    Sally2015-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay. Our room was beautiful and Erin was very helpful with information on how to get around and what to see. We had no trouble with the Streetcar and bus transportation. Loved this property would definately stay again!!!

    Lisa2013-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place! Private , quiet and the room was charming. Everything was perfectly clean and it had a private entrance . We loved it and will go back. Greg showed us where everything was and had coffee and snacks. The bathroom was stocked with top line hair and body supplies. The trolley was a short two block , we had private parking , it felt safe and was set with a beautiful yard and place to smoke if you need it. I loved it had a fan which is a must for me. Nothing cheap in the B&B !! The *bed* was wonderful, high count sheets great pillows and very very comphy! This is even great for kids because it has the smaller potty seat that fits down if its a small child. (Found that's right before we left!) A pub at the end of the street and 3.00 trolley day passes. You will love this place!

    Deb2013-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Erin was a wonderful host and had lots of great recommendations for family friendly activities. We stayed with our 18 month old, and she was very accommodating. She loaned us a crib, high chair, and stroller.

    Jen2014-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Erin was great! We sadly had to leave New Orleans early due to a health issue but our room was close to the street car and just so cute. Also I left my glasses in the room when we left and Erin was nice enough to mail them back to me.

    Sara2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The room was great! Very clean and well equipped with everything you could need. We enjoyed the coffee and drinks in the fridge. Erin and her husband are great hosts. Very friendly and always willing to help with any request. They invited us to join them for a concert on the very first night and then for a tea in their apartment when we came bake. They gave us lots of suggestions about sightseeing, places to eat, bars, transportation and everything. The house is just a 3' walk from the streetcar stop that takes you down to the riverfront. It was the superbowl weekend and the city was very crowded but we enoyed it so much! Unfortunately we didn't have time to enjoy breakfast with them, but we are sure it would have been great as well. Hope we will have the opportunity to come back!

    Serena2013-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • New Orleans is a city I've always wanted to visit. Travelled with my girlfriend and we stayed with Erin and her family for 10 days. The little room in the back of the house was perfect: private entrance, beautifully decorated and maintained, stocked refrigerator and bath, walking distance to trolley, a little garden right outside our door... I couldn't recommend it more and will certainly return again. An amazing first Airbnb experience!

    Matt2013-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Erin's room is a lot like New Orleans: welcoming, hearty, rich and in good taste. It is also, unlike nola, clean and tranquil. What you get is a luxurious room full of little attentions like hangover cures, with ample space and a good bed.The room is in the back of the house with it's total separate entrance and private bathroom, so a lot of privacy. When we needed tips Erin zealously provided them and they were very good. The neighbourhood is nice and residential, full of those charming southern style houses and not too far from the city center. As might be obvious by now, we had a most enjoyable stay.

  • Very clean, very private. Matthew was helpful with restaurant suggestions. Highly recommend staying here

    Lenzie2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We liked the studio being in a safe neighborhood close to public transportation. 4 blocks to the bus stop and 3 more to st charles street car. Street car takes a little longer but you get to see beautiful old houses. Walgreens is across the street from the street car. Riding the street car on St charles street, you can jump off at Trolley Stop Cafe, we ordered fried shrimp and oysters. Unbelievabley good. Rose was our favorite waitress. The studio was comfortable, clean and private. Matt is professional yet personable with a sense of humor. He made it clear to text him if we needed anything. One morning he texted to make sure we were ok and if we needed anything. What hotel does that?! The next time we go to new Orleans, I hope Matt has an opening for us.

    Carol2016-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew's place was spectacular, even better than the pictures. Coming in from an overnight drive from Texas, the 1st thing we wanted to do was crash, but had to take some time to admire the cute little studio. You could tell Matthew earns his Super Host title honestly as he had everything mapped out and all needed information available. If you are looking to stay in New Orleans I would strongly recommend this place!

    LaTresa2017-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful, spacious, bright, cheery studio in New Orleans. Host was superb with communication and has impeccable attention to details. The snacks, local bottle of brew for you to try in the fridge, a travel-size of every personal item you could think of that you may have forgotten... he didn't miss a thing. Plus, unit has washer/dryer which would be convenient for longer term or road-tripping guests. One of the best AirBnB's I've stayed at.

  • I have nothing but great things to say about this studio! It is located in a safe neighborhood and about 10-15 minutes away from French Quarter by car. You can ride the St. Charles streetcar which is a 5min walk from the house or take Uber. The studio has its own entrance with plenty of privacy. We had access to the backyard patio which was nice :) Matt and his wife did a great job with decorating and creating a cozy, beautiful space for their guests. My husband and I really appreciated the small touches--complimentary snacks and beers, umbrella that they left for us, soft towels, soft bed linens, etc. Matt was responsive throughout the whole booking process and provided us with some great recommendations on what to do and what to eat. I highly recommend his studio to anyone that wants to stay close enough to French Quarter but is looking for a more quiet oasis to come back to. Thanks so much for everything!

    Christina2016-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Matt's Belfast studio was the perfect "home base" during my husband and I's trip to New Orleans. It's exactly like the pictures - charming, clean, comfortable. Safe and beautiful neighborhood, close to grocery store and streetcar, and only a $10 Uber ride into French Quarter. Was also great to have laundry. Little touches like having some local beer & snacks ready for us and toiletries available were much appreciated! Matt was really responsive via text/email and couldn't have made the process easier. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting New Orleans. Thanks, Matt!

This beautiful home is in a perfect location to explore the City of New Orleans. It is a hidden gem within walking distance of Frenchmen Street, the best local cafes, bars and restaurants (L'il Dizzy's, Port of Call, Cafe Du Monde), and only 2 blocks from the French Quarters. The home is perfect for those who want to be near it all yet still have an authentic New Orleans experience that is usually only available to locals.
This is a true New Orleans home...you'll enjoy all of the traditional details, like the fireplace and exposed brick.
This neighborhood is alive. It's energy is quintessential New Orleans. You won't find a bad meal or a weak drink. The locals are always friendly and quick to start a conversation.
  • Great spot, well-done interior & located walking distance to great New Orleans attracations.

    Han2017-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Overall we enjoyed our stay. The location was great and although you can hear a lot of noise from outside everything was clean and the bed in the bedroom was comfortable. Despite reading reviews about the sofa bed I though my 7 year old daughter would be ok on it but you could feel every single coil and it was too uncomfortable to sleep on. Besides that we had a great stay!

    Summer2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! Just a lovely as the pictures. Checking-in and out was a breeze, the location could not have been better (easy walk to Bourbon, gas station a few blocks down for snacks, and nice neighbors). We will definitely book Mark's place again when we are back in town.

    Kelly2017-04-26T00:00:00Z

  • Awesome place!

    Kelly 2016-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Mark & Truedell were super easy to communicate with and made our arrival at the property seamless. The house was close enough to walk to the quarter and had so much charm.

  • We had a great weekend in New Orleans this Airbnb was a perfect location to explore yet still get away from the crowds. Mark was a great host and the family’s that live next door were so sweet and helpful.

Located on the residential side of Bourbon St. you will enjoy the quietness at night and sleep like a baby and few steps all the action of Bourbon and the Marigny area. This mansion was built in the 1830s n was recently converted into Luxury condos. STR Licence #: 17STR-09001
The living room has one queen sofa bed for two people, located in front of the charming courtyard, large balcony on the second floor, master bedroom with private bathroom, second bedroom with a set of bunk beds and daybed to sleep four people, kitchen, dining room, additional bathroom on the first floor, TV.
  • Really lovely place, convenient location - super close to the French quarter. The host was also really responsive and available to any questions we had. Slightly smaller than indicated by the photos / description, more of a 4 person flat than 6.

    Sara2017-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Went to New Orleans for a girls' weekend...needed a place for 5 adults. This rental is in a lovely historic building (original hardwood floors!) with a picturesque patio and upstairs deck. Great location walkable to both Bourbon and Frenchmen streets, but on a quieter street (could still occasionally hear revelers walking home, but was mostly quiet). The hospitality group made us feel welcome and pampered, with bathrobes and slippers provided, and even left a bottle of champagne (which we very much enjoyed! Thank you!). Air conditioning worked perfectly (very important in July!!). Would definitely choose this rental again if traveling with a group. Note: would not be suitable for children; the spiral staircase is a nice design touch but could be difficult to navigate with kids.

    Jessica2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay for the money. The things that I listed did not detract from the experience.

    Carol2016-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, quiet at the end of a courtyard. Very comfortable for 6 people and was great to have two bathrooms. Quaint building with NOLA charm. Highly recommend.

    Katya2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay more than we originally assumed! The BnB and NOLA were stellar and I cannot wait to return on an annual basis!

    Julian2017-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • The location was perfect! Right on Bourbon Street, but far enough away that you didn't hear any noise.

    Anny2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This condo was in a wonderful location, quiet and with easy access to everything (south past Jackson Square, we recommend an Uber over walking) and would be perfectly suited for someone who is on the go most of their stay or doing the party scene. As a three-generation family group, we do a little more sprawling and gathering at the end of the day than this condo is designed for, but this was so much better than multiple hotel rooms and worked just fine overall. The full-size fridge, stove, and microwave made it easy to feed everyone when we didn’t want to eat out, and the hot water outlasted three teenage girls every day. Balcony and patio were perfect for morning coffee, and location was easy to access for those driving in for a stay. We had a great time! PS - the spiral staircase is a doozy. You have to experience it to understand what the reviewers mean when mentioning it; it’s an adventure, but manageable.

    Mary2018-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • The host, DeeDee, was phenomenal with communication! She went out of her way to help with our arrival. The place is at an awesome location within blocks to Frenchman Street and several jazz joints and places to eat. A little bit of a stroll to the 'action' of Bourbon Street. Comfortably sleeps 6 with only 1 double bed and 4 to share the second bedroom and bath. Tucked in the back of the building with a pleasant courtyard and privacy. I'd stay here again.

The Mazant is a plantation-style home dating back to the early 1880s, located in the heart of New Orleans' Bywater arts district - and about 1-1/2 miles from the French Quarter (30 minutes walking or 8 minutes by Uber). We are close to Bacchanal, The Joint, The Country Club, Elizabeth's, and Satsuma Cafe. It's perfect for family reunions, wedding parties, company off-sites, and other large groups.
UPDATE SUMMER 2018: This summer we are making some additional updates to the house, including adding one additional queen bed (upstairs), remodeling three bathrooms, adding a new half bathroom downstairs, and doubling the size of the kitchen. New floor plans are already available online and photos will be updated by the end of September. ----- We have been working to renovate the house over the past several years, seeking to preserve historic details including 13' ceilings with plaster medallions, heart pine wood floors, cypress doors, and a 125-year old oak tree. At the same time, we updated the layout to more comfortably accommodate large groups: * 18-person dining room table * Oversized living room with 70-inch television, surround sound system, and Baldwin upright piano * Private yard (1/3 acre) with fire pit, six-burner propane BBQ, outdoor table, and hammocks * Super-fast WiFi (the top tier that Cox offers) * Front porch (gallery) with historic gas lamps and outdoor seating * Off-street parking for two cars and ample street parking for overflow The house has eight bedrooms with layout as follows: Downstairs - Bedroom 1: one queen bed (semi-private bathroom - shower) - Bedroom 2: one queen bed (ensuite bathroom - shower) Upstairs - Bedroom 3: one queen bed (ensuite bathroom - shower/tub combo) - Bedroom 4: one double bed - Bedroom 5: one twin bunkbed - Bedroom 6: one king bed - Bedroom 7: two queen beds (semi-private bathroom - shower) - Bedroom 8: one king bed There is another shared bathroom upstairs (near the laundry room) with a clawfoot tub-shower combination. Unfortunately, the caretaker's cottage is no longer available for rent.
Just down river (east) from the French Quarter - stretching from Press Street to the Industrial Canal - is the Bywater, where the mood and pace shift as you enter into the heart of an edgier yet still welcoming neighborhood. The St. Claude Arts District, centered around St. Claude Avenue, is home to more than thirty locations exhibiting visual and performance art, along with an array of artisan crafts. Down Piety Street, the fun continues with restaurants, thrift stores and more galleries. Even the homes, cafes and restaurants seem to capture Bywater's eclectic appreciation for the arts. Spend the afternoon at Crescent Park for some impressive views of downtown New Orleans and the Mississippi River. Afterward, you can thrift your way through the neighborhood before stopping in at an exhibition and finally making your way to dinner. The area's restaurants are among the most innovative in the city and are great places to sit with a cocktail and chat with locals. Above all, the Marigny and Bywater neighborhoods illustrate the relationship between the New Orleans arts scene and local life. So whether you're looking for the New Orleans of old, or if you want see where New Orleans culture is headed for the future, the Faubourg Marigny and Bywater will offer you glimpses in either direction.
  • I enjoyed our stay. The house was so classy and nice. The weather was the coldest it has been in 40 years so it was not something anyone could anticipate. The location was central but it had a great bbq place in walking distance. I absolutely loved the decor of the house. It felt very New Orleans...the host was great at communicating so that was helpful

    Sheena2018-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect property!! Great for large groups and a quick Uber ride to the French quarter. Lots of great restaurants near by in the area. Well maintained and clean. We would love to stay again!

  • We truly loved your house. It was like another character in our New Orleans play. If we could give more than 5 stars, we would. One of the few properties I've stayed at that was really under-sold in its description. Also, spectacular for hide-and-go-seek!

    Dan2018-02-06T00:00:00Z

  • If you're smart enough to have booked here - count your lucky stars... The Mazant is incredible. Period. From Jeff's communication - all the way through the process of booking until our stay - to meeting Kevin and the welcome and southern hospitality we received and all the personal touches - we couldn't have asked for better hosts. The house itself looks even more magical in real life. Completely faultless and ever little detail thought of... My only issue is I couldn't stay longer. I will, no doubt -be back.

    Louise2018-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • The Bywater Plantation house is a beautiful home. We had the house maxed out and no one ever felt crowded. Our host, Jeff, was great at getting us timely information and having the home wonderfully decorated, it was really clean and everything worked great. I highly recommend this house!

    Laura2017-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • We rented The Mazant over our wedding weekend for 15 members of my family as well as our rehearsal dinner/crawfish boil. Kevin and Jeff were so easy and great to work with. They even let us check in a little early knowing that we were anxious to get settled! Everyone who saw the house was stunned with the renovations inside and out. They have truly done an amazing job! I can’t wait to see our wedding prep photos that we took on site. We’re also going to plan a trip for a group of friends to come back and stay this was such an awesome experience! - Lauren and Mike

  • This place is incredible. It is walking distance from everything. The decor and open living area is amazing. The only issue was parking so I'd recommend using the available valet around the corner.

  • Very clean and spacious apartment. The beds were very comfortable and the balcony and sun room were great. Excellent location and within walking distance to transportation and Bourbon Street. Brad was very helpful and attentive. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

  • My first Airbnb experience and it was great! The condo was just as described. When we first arrived I could tell (by sight and smell) that it had been freshly cleaned. We appreciated the small extras that were left to make us feel welcomed. The location is AMAZING! We walked everywhere- convention center, super dome, Bourbon St, etc. you name it we walked it. The host was super friendly and helpful. He accommodated a special request, and went above and beyond to make sure we had the items we needed for a good night’s rest. My friends gave me several compliments on the location. We will definitely try to get this condo again when we are in New Orleans.

    Andrelle2018-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • The host was very accessible. Every question that I asked, they answered in a timely manner. We had an issue with plumbing and they sent someone right over to fix it! The condo is absolutely beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice. The location was walking distance from everything. We only drove to the store when we first got there to get groceries, after that we didn't move our cars until it was time to leave. It's walking distance to Bourbon, Convention Center, and Superdome. There was enough beds for everyone. We slept 3 in the King Bed, 2 in the Queen, 2 in the bunk beds, and 1 on pull out sofa. Next time I stay in NOLA I am going to try to stay here!!

    Aeiress2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is quite the modern-industrial renovation with character galore. The furniture was comfortable and the shower was amazing. I felt well-prepared for the self check-in and enjoyed finding treats on the kitchen counter upon arrival. It's unfortunate that the place has not been well-maintained since its renovation and there are a few quirky things about the place that are not mentioned. The sunroom in the master bedroom floods when it rains and has a storefront glass wall with a door that leads to the balcony, which is unfurnished not exactly a desirable hang-out spot anyway. It's also quite noisy and there are lots of lights outside the condo, but the noise didn't keep me awake and I suppose you should expect the light being in the heart of the city. All that to say, I was happy with my stay here and most people probably would be, but I'll probably try another place on my next visit.

  • Nola's Studio was perfect for our short trip to NOLA! Clean and great decor. Close to the Quarter. I highly recommend this Nola's!

  • NOLA's Studio was fantastic and Belinda was great. The location is very accessible to everywhere in New Orleans - without feeling like you are right on Bourbon St. All in all a great experience. Oh, and make sure to get Carol to pick you up from the airport (ask Belinda).

    Peter2011-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Communication was great, Whitney and her fiancé were very friendly and helpful. Location was great as it allowed us to walk most places. We had a great time, would highly recommend staying at their place.

    David2012-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • NoLa's studio was the first place my husband and I stayed on our honeymoon, and it was great!!! First of all, location: we dropped our bags off and walked two blocks to Louis Armstrong Park where we ran into a second line band! It's a quick walk to the French Quarter and a quick cab ride to mid city, anything you'd want to do on a trip here is easily accessible from this place! The studio itself is basic (no full kitchen), but it's more than enough for a couple to stay comfortably, and it's very affordable! The A/C is welcoming in the NoLa heat, however if you can handle it I recommend lounging in their spacious shared yard on the hammock! Whitney and her husband Tom are super friendly and accommodating, they are great hosts and their apts are really wonderful. I highly recommend staying here!

    Shira2015-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • NOLA'S Studio was easy to find and the place is very cute and comfortable. This was my 1st time using AirBnB and I'll now use it more often due to this experience. Loved it.

    Daniel2016-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • It didn't hurt that Lydia and I got engaged while staying there, but Whitney and Tom were gracious hosts. This was my second time staying at 1123 Marais and they are carrying on the good works of Belinda, the former owner. Already making plans to stay there in November.

    Bill2013-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tom met me at the house upon my arrival in NOLA, showed me around the house, and gave me some recommendations of things to do in town. The room (Nolas) is stunning, very well air-conditioned, and has anything you could need for an extended stay. There are even huge boxes of DVD's outside the room if you so desire; me and my friend decided to stay out of the heat for most of our afternoons and opted for the comfort of our temporary little home in Treme. The district itself is very quaint, a short walk to the french quarter and beyond, probably not safe at night if you are by yourself (true to many parts of NOLA). I had a great time and will definitely come back here if I ever come back to visit!

    Taylor2014-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • The stay at the studio was great! It is located near the French Quarter a quick walk to the action but far enough to get a good night's rest. The apartment was clean and homey. Whitney provided specific directions before arrival on how to get in the studio. All went smoothly and can't wait to be back in NOLA!

  • Upon returning home I re-read reviews others posted and they are all spot-on. Everything was great. i especially loved the plentiful snacks and bottled water included in the stay.

  • i have never had a better airbnb experience ... the place was perfect. upon arrival you are greeted by robert myers housekeeper who will walk you through everything . They have wine and snacks galore. the place is wonderful and well kept in great neighborhood. i was moving a lot but i did enjoy the jacuzzi.

    Michael2012-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Robert's place was absolutely magnificent. It was in a beautiful, truly New Orleanian shotgun house with stately furnishings and tons of character. It was clean as a whistle and stocked to the nines with snacks, wine and ice cold bottled water. His housekeeper, Ernie, was friendly, welcoming and attentive to our every need. The neighborhood was picturesque, safe and walkable to the French Quarter. Highly recommended!

    Stephanie2014-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • I can honestly say that we, as seasoned travellers, have never felt so well cared for on holiday as in this beautiful house. The house was immaculate and every single detail was taken care of - from the daily cleaning to snacks/drinks/toiletries topped up whilst we were out to the fact that our personal washing was done every day to a multitude of suggestions as to where to go, where not to go and 'insider tips'. Ernie the housekeeper was absolutely lovely and could not possibly have done more for us. The description on air bnb was completely accurate and the neighbourhood was extremely friendly (as was the whole of New Orleans) and we made ample use of the numerous local bars, restaurants and shops. I cannot recommend this property high enough and fully intend to return as soon as we can.

    Helen2015-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • You'll be greeted and treated right. Lots of amenities and a very authentic New Orleans feel.

    Patrick2015-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place to stay and Leslie was a great host!

    Brian2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying in a shotgun style house in the Bywater area of New Orleans. It was very luxurious. We walked day and night, to and from the French Quarter. We found the house to be a great bargain. We were thankful for the kind attention of Ernie who attended to our spoken and unspoken needs. We felt as though we were living in a past, gentler time in Bywater. My husband grew up in New Orleans and went to middle school in the Bywater neighborhood so it was especially fun for him to retrace his childhood footsteps to his grandmothers house on Port Street. I enjoyed the neighborhood restaurants, thrift stores, and coffee shops. Bywater is a place where the small local business thrives. We were three people staying in the house and were very comfortable. The house was supplied with a wide assortment of drinks and snacks. This was very helpful and added to the luxury and "at home" vibe. We would stay there again.

    Vivian2012-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie was a very friendly host with a lot of knowledge of the history of New Orleans. The neighborhood was quiet and charming, and the property was beautiful. We brought our two children and they really enjoyed the trip too. Just a couple blocks from a playground, plus walking distance from the French quarter, the aquarium, Louis Armstrong park, tons of great food all over, the zoo was incredible, the list goes on. We will be back asap!

  • We had a very nice stay! It is close to many interesting spots of New Orleans! The bikes were great to explore and you don't need the guide! The apartment is not soundproof but the person living there is quite discreet! It has all the amenities needed! Andrew went out of his way to accommodate us!

  • Our stay in The Gold Room was awesome! I had never used airbnb before and was a little skeptical about it, but I had such a great experience. Andrew and Amanda were very helpful..they left a very useful itinerary for places to see and they also suggested cab companies that would be best for travel to and from my arrival areas and departure areas. I love, love, loved their free bikes--used them every day, all day! I would suggest this room/these hosts to anyone looking for a fun, helpful and safe place to stay!

    Kayli2014-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy loft, wonderful neighbourhood, a great base to explore New Orleans from. And the free bikes were an awesome perk!

    Camilla2015-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was just as Andrew explained. This was clearly well thought out and the user experience was seamless. The bathroom could have been cleaner but that's not a deal breaker for me and for $50 I can't complain. I'd definitely stay at one of Andrew's properties again.

  • Brent’s place was perfect for us! It was walking distance to the French Quarter, Canal and Bourbon St. Communication with Brent was easy as well. Check-in and check-out instructions were very clear, he even gave us a list of suggested places to go. Thank you again for letting us stay.

  • This is a fabulous place to stay; great amenities, nice set up, secure, and close to the French Quarter and public transportation. Definitely recommend it!

    Kevin2018-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Brent's place is super clean and safe, and within short walking distance of the French quarter. It's a minimally decorated apartment in a modern building with a doorman, simple to get in and out of. If you're looking for NOLA charm and quirkiness this isn't it. But if you're looking for a great value in a well-located spot, this is your find.

Semi-private room* in a cute and cozy shotgun house in the Marigny. 15 minute walk to the French Quarter, 12 minutes to Frenchmen St., 2 minutes to the Bywater. Located around the corner from a few restaurants, bars, a coffee shop, and grocery store. *Note, this room is yours and yours alone, but people have to walk through it to get to their room.
The house is a classic shotgun, a very common style of architecture for homes here in New Orleans. Our bedroom is the first room in the house, and we rent the next three rooms to guests (see our profile for links to the other rooms). Each room is arranged one behind the other. You will be walking through all of our bedrooms to get to your room, and while you'll have your room to yourself, people will need to walk below your loft to access the kitchen, other bedrooms, backyard, and bathroom. Both doorways have doors which you can close for more privacy. Please look through our photos to see the "blueprints" of our house, this will give you an idea to how it's laid out. Your room is the fourth room in the house, next to the kitchen. It comes furnished with a full size bed, bright lamp for reading, Christmas lights, fresh sheets, clean blankets, pillows, and towels - and it's on a loft! To get up to the bed you will need to climb a ladder up 7 feet to the loft. The height in the loft is around 4 1/2 feet, meaning most people won’t be able to stand, but it’s still fairly easy to get around in for any able-bodied person. Below the loft is a hangout room, where you are more than welcome to hangout and stretch your legs all you want.
Our location is probably our greatest feature. Our house is centrally located in the Marigny. Frenchmen St. jazz and music clubs are only six blocks away, the French Quarter is a ten minute, nine-block walk away in one direction, and the Bywater (neighborhood) is just over the train tracks, two blocks in the other direction. We are one block from Mardi Gras Zone, a 24 hour organic grocery store (now with an alcohol license!), and three blocks from Hank's, a 24 hour convenience store (where you can stock up on alcohol and fried chicken). Flora's Coffee shop is two blocks away. There are eight bars (ranging from fancy cocktail bars to dive bars) within a three block radius.
  • Great communication, helpful and understanding. Thank you!

    Gretchen2015-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Would recommend to any visitor of New Orleans. Clean, close to French Quatter, easy communication.

  • One of the best places I have ever stayed. The house is great with nice rooms and great bameds. But the hosts are what make this place truly great. From the moment you arrive till moment you leave they have a schedule full of activities. Can't rate this place high enough.

  • Katie and Matthijs were very kind and welcoming! Really genuine people. The place is in a safe and great location. Walking distance to pretty much everything. The room was clean and comfortable. No complaints.

    David2015-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • This house was a wonderful find in New Orleans; it is on a good neighbourhood and within walking distance of the French Quarter. Both the features of the house and the affordable loft room were accurately described in the listing. I didn't get to meet Katie or Matthijs during my stay but Katie was very quick at responding to my messages and any questions I had. Katie and Matthijs also provided a very detailed list of restaurants and bars to try out while staying in New Orleans. I would definitely stay here again if I am back in New Orleans.

    Stephen2015-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for an extremely affordable place to stay in a great location, choose this place! I stayed with Katie and Matthijs twice on my way to and from my Thanksgiving vacation. It was perfect as it was more than affordable and gave me just what I needed (a bed and shower). I stayed in the loft, and they described their place perfectly on the site. One thing to note about the loft is it has no door between it and the kitchen so it can get very warm. They do have a fan and AC you can turn on, however, and both work very well. If you are looking for the extra privacy, though, do choose the loft as no one walks past your bed to get to the kitchen or bathroom like the other rooms. The neighborhood was perfect. It is not noisy at all, but it is near the popular parts of town for you to walk to easily. Both Katie and Matthijs were very personable and very helpful in recommending places to eat (We ended up at Mimi's one night and it was actually the highlight of our entire Thanksgiving trip!). Parking is very easy like they said in the description and we felt very safe. I did not give this review 5 stars only for the "cleanliness" factor. While the room was very clean, the bathroom did not seem too clean (likely the age of the home and the fact that you are sharing it with many people) and the kitchen was a little messy (as I guess you would expect when staying in someone's home). Overall, though, this place is great for the price.

    Rebecca2015-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Katie and Matthijs are two lovely people. They made me feel welcome and gave me tips about dining etc. The room is very special, it's like you're in your own little New Orleans world. You walk about 15 minutes to the crowded places in the French Quarter. Near the house is also a little café (Orange) where you can start or end your day with a coffee and some mochi. The bathroom and my room were clean. Altogether I'm happy that I stayed with them and can highly recommend booking their accommodations.

Tiny rustic studio apartment in 100 year old New Orleans house. Loft bed. Has stains in bathtub. Porch. Kitchenette for coffee, tea and lighter cooking. Only takes 8 mins to walk to Frenchmen Street and about 15 min to the French Quarter. 5 min with cab.
Stains in claw-foot bathtub that won't come out. Clean but very old with many stains. Vintage, rustic, shabby chic.
Residential neighborhood 70% black, 30% white if that makes you feel uncomfortable, don't come to New Orleans or don't leave your hotel. Usually quiet but just a short walk or cab ride to Frenchmen Street, French Quarter etc...
  • A cozy and creative space - loved staying here!

  • Isobel leaves a great house manual with tips for everything which we found very useful and her communication was great. The place is old and there is debris strewn throughout the backyard. The wifi signal was terrible unfortunately but we only stayed two nights so not worth making a fuss. The bathroom/kitchen hybrid is pretty funny but a good compromise and we were happy with it. Very tall steep ladder to get into bed! The walls to the front apartment are paper thin so we were woken up to a loud party of guests arriving home at 4am (it is New Orleans!). Neighbourhood is so interesting. Nice and close to everything you want to see in NO and good for the price. We enjoyed our stay

  • Very cozy, and had all the necessities we needed. Loved the Boho feel of the studio. Isobel had some great recommendations

  • Very cute place with tons of character. This place has everything you need for a great price. Isobel was a great host, would stay there again.

  • If you are looking for a cheap place to stay within walking distance of the French quarter, then Isobel's place may be just what you need, however, it isn't for everyone. It is about two blocks from the French quarter proper, but the intervening blocks would make some people nervous. We were fine, but again, if you are safety-minded be aware. The gate to the place has a touchy lock that is tricky to use, and the yard has junk lying around. The place itself is a gray area between hip and messy, but it does have privacy, a shower and kitchen, although the toilet and shower are IN the kitchen. We didn't meet or receive any messages from Isobel, but she did have a local guide she wrote available on the table. Again, if you just want a cheap place to stay, book Isobel's. If you want a little more comfort, however, you may want to look elsewhere.

  • isobel has great communication with you thru out the process , every time needed she will reply quickly , if your used to hotels and high end living this place is not for you , the apartment is quirky , unique and has its own personality is perfect if you appreciate rare and excentric things . If you get by night the neighborhood seems radder scary but during the day its cozy .

  • I loved staying at Isobel's apartment! It was quaint and cute, with lots of personal touches. As stated in her bio, her home is a work in progress, so it did seem somewhat "busy," with various cans of paint, planks of wood, and old bathtubs sitting around the property. Also mentioned in previous reviews, the bathroom and kitchen are one in the same- so if that bothers you then I wouldn't recommend this place. I didn't spend much time inside or plan on cooking so for me it wasn't a problem. The bed is bunk-style, above a desk, and requires climbing a ladder to get to. I didn't mind it but some who are taller might feel a little too close to the ceiling/fan. There is also AC in this unit, which was a blessing in the NOLA humidity. Isobel's guidebook was very helpful. I will say that one of her recommendations was the nearby Candlelight Lounge on Wednesday nights for the jazz band... I was very excited about this. However, when I went, I ended up getting my wallet pick pocketed from my purse as I sat next to it (Side note that seems obvious but isn't always when you're in the moment and caught up in the music- definitely always be on guard with your belongings). So just beware, and Isobel spells this out quite clearly, this neighborhood is not for the faint of heart. That being said, I felt very safe in Isobel's house with the key-code fence that wraps around it and wouldn't want my one bad experience to deter anyone from wanting to stay in this area. While I personally liked the place a lot, it's probably not a spot I would bring someone with higher expectations that are more in line with a hotel or fancy AirBnb with lots of amenities and nice furniture (i.e. most of Isobel's furnishings appear to be secondhand or vintage that don't seem to have been super well cared for, and some of the furniture/walls have phrases in other languages scrawled across them in marker- not sure if this is her way of decorating or if it's all being worked on, but some might call it strange... I feel it gives the place character). All in all, I enjoyed my time here and would probably stay here again in the future. I like my Airbnb hosts to be out of sight, but always reachable if needed, and that's exactly how it was with Isobel.

  • When we first arrived the neighborhood looked a bit sketchy, but if you use basic street smarts you will be okay. We followed the directions given by Isobel. All codes were provided for the locks. However when we tried to unlock the door in the fence we found difficulty. There is no knob on the door and the lock slips so good luck it might take you a couple minutes. Once we got the door unlocked we walked across the yard towards our place and noticed a shack just across the way in the yard with people in it for the whole duration of the stay. It was a bit unnerving at first as this was not mentioned by the host. However, They were nice and kept to themselves. The curtain in the home was a nuisance because it was hanging from the pole and light shined right through. And who knows if the people in the shack can see inside. The safety light for outside on the porch was broken so it was pitch dark when you get back at night. Also just a tip make sure to turn off the AC when u leave. We forgot to turn it off when we left and returned to a very hot and humid apartment. It could have been a tad cleaner. Lots of dust and the carpet could use some vacuuming. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. And for the price, you get what you pay for. Great value for the location. Walking distance to French Quarter and Frenchman Street. Would I stay here again? Probably not. But it did the job for a few days.

  • Casa aconchegante e charmosa. Claramente foi reformada recentemente e é bem confortável. Aquecimento, fechadura, chuveiro, tudo funciona perfeitamente.

Contacted Ben just the night (late night) before checking in date, he was really responsive and accommodating during the reservation process. You can sleep comfortably up to 7 people in a clean and neat house with complete kitchen sets ready for use! Free street parking right outside the house, great location - close to the famous French Quarter! In a nutshell - great place, great price, great location! Thanks, Ben!

This free standing casita, tucked away in a tropical garden, includes a small refrigerator with refreshments, jazz records, New Orleans literature, and a clawfoot tub. Off of Esplanade Avenue, it is halfway between the French Quarter and City Park.
The casita is located in the backyard of a side-gallery shotgun cottage. I have been renting it through Airbnb for two years but recently changed to my on profile. The main house was built as part of a series of shotguns developed by two brother from Cienfuegos, Cuba in the early 1860s. The casita is its own building, built in a modern design in 2010. You can come and go as you please through our lush side garden. Inside, there is a very comfortable queen sized bed and bathroom with a clawfoot tub. You are welcome to use the washer and dryer and there is a small refrigerator and kettle. We include some local snacks as part of your stay. We also have a record player with music from New Orleans and books from the region and my own nonprofit publishing organization, the Neighborhood Story Project, for you to enjoy while you are here.
This old Creole neighborhood, in the heart of downtown New Orleans, is in between the French Quarter and City Park. Just a block and a half off Esplanade Avenue, a beautiful boulevard canopied in live oak trees, it is also very close to Bayou Road, the first road in New Orleans! From the house, you can walk to this street, where there is a wonderful collection of shops, including the Pagoda Cafe with the best coffee in town and wonderful breakfast and lunch (located in an old Chinese laundry building), the King and Queen's Emporium (which sells handmade soaps in one of the city's first public market buildings), the CocoHut (New Orleans/Jamaican food), and Domino Sounds Record Shop, which has been featured in national publications as one of the best record stores in the country.
  • My boyfriend and I had a fantastic time at the Casita! Rachel met us when we arrived and made us feel very welcome. She had set up the house with local treats, tea, and beer! And an awesome record player. The bed and overall apartment were very comfortable. The house is a little ways from the hub bub of downtown, but we quite enjoyed walking down to the French Quarter each morning. Like other reviews say, just be aware that it is a short ride or walk down there, but well worth it. We had a blast!

    Genny2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel's place is a great home-base for a stay in New Orleans. Like other guests have mentioned, it's a cheap Uber ride from just about everywhere you'd want to go, but you can also walk to Bourbon Street and Frenchmen as it's only two blocks away from Esplanade, a major street that leads to these places and is heavily trafficked by locals and tourists. I felt safe and I was traveling solo. The space is perfect for one or two people. I had the unique benefit of being alone on the property, as Rachel was out of town, but I'm sure even with her there you'd have a lot of privacy. Everything is as pictured.

    Kelly2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great house, great AC (the best part) I would definitely use come back to relax again!!

    Ana2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel is awesome, great communication. Her casita was a perfect hideaway in the beautiful city of New Orleans! She's got a great collection of books and records and we really enjoyed our down time just as much as our outings.

  • We enjoyed our stay at Rachel's place. The description is accurate. Everything was clean an Rachel was really helpful.

  • Great!

    Michael2017-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I really enjoyed staying at the casita. It was really cozy and close enough to the fun spots in town. The Treme area is great, but definitely has a few shady spots. We ubered around for the most part and it usually only cost us 5 dollars or so between us. The snacks in the casita were a nice touch and of course it is always great to see vinyl laying around. The bath tub is also very cool! If you're looking for a spot where you can sleep and grab a shower between adventures in the city, this is a great bet! :) Thanks, Rachel!

    Sebastian2016-12-07T00:00:00Z

You will be walking through two bedrooms to get to your room, and while you'll have your room to yourself, people will have to walk past your room to access the kitchen, other bedrooms, backyard, and bathroom. Both doorways have doors which you can close for more privacy. Please look through our photos to see the "blueprints" of our house, this will give you an idea to how it's laid out. Your room is the third room in the house. It comes furnished with a built in bed, curtain for privacy, XL twin mattress, reading lamp, a chair, vanity with a large mirror, clean sheets, fresh blankets, four pillows, a towel, and a white noise machine to cancel out house noises. The room accommodates one comfortably.
  • Katie and Matthijs have managed to create an atmosphere what Airbnb is all about: meeting great people in a nice surrounding for a very good price. I am very greatful they joined AirBnB and they are an excellent example of how to be a good host and give people a warm welcome. Thank you!

  • Hollis' airbnb was the perfect place for my short weekend girls' trip. I wish we could've stayed longer. The house was very well kept and beautifully decorated. It was in the perfect location to everything we wanted to visit such as the french quarter and bourbon. There was also easy access to cheap transportation, with the bus stop being only a skip and a hop from the house. Hollis was a wonderful host and i really appreciated him for allowing me and my friend to chill at the house after our check out time because we decided to stay an extra day and there was a wait before we could check into our hotel. Hollis eventually felt like a family member, and i would definitely recommend his place to anyone planning a trip to New Orleans.

    Breanna2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Hollis was a great host! His place was beautifully decorated and exactly as described. He gave us a great food recommendation that we loved. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone staying in New Orleans!

    Rachel2016-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying with Hollis!! His place is beautiful and immaculate. He was very cool and helpful in all respects. We would recommend staying here to anyone who wants a soft bed, a clean living space, a gracious host, and easy access to the city. It was a wonderful experience! Can't wait til we can do it again! :)

    Elizabeth2015-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • I had a mixed experience with Hollis. His home is beautiful and exactly as described, conveniently located and exactly what I was looking for. But a few weeks after I'd booked it, he sent me a message through AirBnB asking me to cancel my reservation. A host should never ask the guest to cancel, as it impacts the guests' standing on AirBnB, so I called AirBnB about it, and they reached out to Hollis to find that apparently he'd made a mistake and still intended to honor my reservation. Everything turned out fine, but I never did hear back from Hollis to say that everything was good or to apologize for the confusion, and that was a little off-putting.

    Daniel2016-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very clean and attractive. We really appreciated it being just a 10 minute drive away from French Quarter! Priced very fairly and was nice to come back to it after a long day on our feet.

    Shira2016-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend at Hollis' place. As others have said, it is better to use Uber or public transit to get to and from the house--however our Uber rides to the French Quarter were $6 and less--very convenient and cheap. Hollis was very welcoming. We arrived early and he accommodated us with grace. His house is exquisitely decorated and everything was super clean. We didn't take advantage of Hollis' local knowledge as we could have, but from the few exchanges we did have he seems to be a wealth of information. The bedroom is a fairly small room with a queen bed, TV, and ceiling fan. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was, again, well decorated. The only thing I would mention to future visitors is the bathroom situation--there is only one bathroom available in the house, and when all 3 rooms are occupied, there could be as many as 6 people vying for that bathroom. It was not a huge problem but was a little inconvenient in the morning. Thank you Hollis--if we come back to New Orleans we will come stay with you again!

    Stephanos2016-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very clean and Hollis was super nice. The bus stop was right by the house so it was easy to get downtown. Only time we weren't happy was when the other guests and Hollis were super loud after 11pm. we were trying to sleep because we had to get up early the next day. Other than that, I would definitely recommend staying with Hollis!

    Patrice2016-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing experience! A very clean place with a feel of New Orleans found throughout the house. By the way, Hollis provided useful information to really make my experience memorable. He was an awesome host, he made sure my boyfriend and I had a ride to and from the airport. I would most definitely recommend him.

    Alexis2018-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • The purple house near Tulane is exactly as described. The interior is spartan, but clean. The neighborhood is solidly residential and very quiet (unless there's an event at the VERY close Tulane stadium). We stayed with our pup and there's a grassy lot directly across the street where he could sniff and do his thing -- there's no grass in the rear courtyard. Although we never met our host during the visit, he answered most of our questions quickly. There's a breakfast cafe on Panola that was just a few minutes walk each morning, otherwise it's several blocks to Carrollton for other dining/entertainment options.

Please be our guest in the newly renovated apartment situated at the back of our really old (1850s), charmingly-dilapidated house. It’s just a couple blocks from the parade route/street car/St. Charles, and only about a mile from the Superdome. They don’t call it Central City for nothing! Walk past the main house, down a winding brick pathway, and up the stairs to the private entrance. You enter into the kitchen, with concrete countertops, old wood floors, and plenty of sunlight pouring through the original wood windows with old bubbly glass. Fix yourself a drink and head up the spiral stairs to the bedroom. Just around the iron handrail is a full size bed, and plenty of reading material about the places you’ll want to see and the food you’ll want to eat while you’re here. Then venture out the bedroom door onto the balcony. Did I mention you’re on the third floor now? The view is excellent, the palm trees sway in the wind, and you can hear the marching bands as they pass down the parade route. I almost forgot the bathroom. Honestly, it’s not huge. But it’s everything you need, plus a claw foot tub. And cozy towels, and bubble bath, and . . . well, it’s a bathroom. And just in case you’re wondering, it also has a flat-screen tv, cable, internet, a microwave, a coffee maker, all the things you need in a kitchen, and probably some welcoming Abita beers in the fridge.
Central City is the Best! We're right in the middle of everything. . . and I don't mean right in the middle of the French Quarter, I mean in the middle of a less touristy, little bit quieter New Orleans. We're just on the edge of the Garden District, a short walk from Magazine St, and just 3 blocks form the streetcar line. Plus, we're only one block from the super hip, up and coming Oretha Castle Haley Blvd where you'll find the best coffee, the indiest movies, a few restaurants, the new Food and Beverage Museum, and a tatoo parlor in case you're in the market. So come check out my neighborhood, you'll love it like I do!
  • We had a lovely long stay at Jackson's place and quite lost our hearts to New Orleans. The space was exactly as described with a well-equipped kitchen and a quiet street close to the streetcar, to Magazine St and to lots of local colour. We were helped out by Jackson at all stages of the booking and she was available via phone and email all through our stay. Highlights included the sweet murmur of the backyard chickens each time we left the house and the attention of Pearl the dog - most welcome for two pet-starved travellers! We would recommend Jackson and the sweet apartment to anyone!

  • Cool, clean and really nice apartment. Easy to communicate with the host and felt welcoming. Would definitly come back if ever in New Orleans again.

  • We had an amazing time in New Orleans. The little apartment was clean and perfectly set up for two people. We came to New Orleans for a wedding and wanted a quiet place to stay and relax between events and touring the city, this was perfect. I loved the chickens in the back yard. The streetcar was really easy to walk to. We also walked to Magazine street a few times to do a little shopping and eat lunch. Great location and great hosts.

  • I love this place! It has that nice rustic feel to it and has everything you may need while staying in NOLA. From the beginning of our trip, i knew i made the right call. The house is beautiful. Very large with a great front yard. The place was in the back of the house looking down on the backyard. Very high ceilings (which is good especially for my bf who is almost 6'5) so there is no worry about hitting your head or arms in the ceiling fan. We walked in and Jackson had a hand drawn map ready for us. Pointing out all the nice bars and restaurants within walking distance from us. She also left some pamphlets on things to do while there as well as a bike map. This place is right near the St Charles Trolley car which is a lifesaver especially if you plan on huffing it everywhere. There were some hens in the backyard which i loved. Jackson even asked if we wanted some eggs while we were there. Fresh eggs, yes please! The stairs took about an hour to get used to going up and down but you get the hang of it. The bathroom was nice as well. I like the tub/shower combo. Overall my experience was excellent. Jackson is super nice and helpful while there. Did not see her as much but when we did it wasn't awkward at all. Just like staying at a friends house. I would totally plan on coming back here again.

  • The apartment was adorable and just as shown in the pictures! Everything was very clean and neat and had a interesting mix of old and new to create a fun environment-- definitely better than any hotel vibe. It had everything you could need and it was great to have an AC and even blow dryer/clothes iron. I have to also mention that Jackson had the most amazing little dog, Pearl, who made the BEST greeter in the mornings If we were lucky enough to pass through while she was out! The space was the perfect size for just my boyfriend and I and "checking in/out" was super easy and hassle free and Jackson made herself easily available to us for any questions we had, both before arriving and while there. The neighborhood its self seems to be in the process of gentrification and is VERY convenient to local transportation , both the bus and street car are about a 3min walk away on St.Charles . There are lots of local spots to eat or grab a drink and it's also not far from the Irish Channel and Magazine Street where you can find even more options! If you want to rage and party hard 34/7 while in NOLA, by all means stay in the French Quarter, but this place is great if you want to experience a wider variety of what NOLA has to offer while still being close to all the tourist attractions. Bottom line, I would recommend it to friends or family for their trip!

    Keri2015-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first AirBnB experience and I was not disappointed! Jackson was a lovely host who was quick to respond. My partner and I were mostly running around NOLA to fit everything in and didn't see Jackson a lot, but it was evident that she was there for anything we needed. And of course her lovely dog, Pearl! The apartment was lovely and having arrived straight from the Southern Hemisphere winter, the air con worked a treat! The apartment has everything you could need and more and was walking distance to a number of shops, restaurants, and bars. It's only a short ride on the streetcar or a cheap cab to the Quarter, or if you're ready to face the NOLA heat a leisurely walk will get you there. The flat rate cabs to and from the airport are also great! The neighbourhood was quiet, filled the beautiful history of the gallery mansions, and people were friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay again for a future trip!

  • Great place, great location, easy to get to the streetcar.

    Tyler2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Jackson is very nice and so is her place! It is clean, fun, and accommodating. It is what she describes and more. It is very easy to get to the streetcar and a close walk to Magazine st. Multiple locals called it the nice part of town and it feels that way. You can't go wrong! Also, their dog, Pearl, is great! She is calm and friendly and makes great company between adventures.

  • This place is very cute and lively! Its location is perfect for a quick drive to the french quarter. I loved it staying there. Jo was a great host and responded quickly if we needed anything. I recommend this place to anyone when visiting New Orleans!

    Annie2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Charming split, shotgun style house in the seventh ward of New Orleans. We enjoyed the record player and Bob Marley was on repeat. We were there during a time when several conferences were being held, so uber/lyft rides were anywhere from $8-20 and the ride from the airport cost $36. The pictures were accurate. The only suggestion we have is to put a curtain on the back door. Thank you for our stay!

    Kari2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had the greatest time in New Orleans and Jo and Tylers place was a perfect place to stay. Its a spacious house, super stylish and clean. The neighbourhood is colourful and cool and not far from all the cool stuff in the French Quarter. We'd definitely come and stay again.

    Sean2018-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house not far from the French quarter - very spacious, ideal for single travelers and couples. Shanon and Jil were available at all times and had even left a wine bottle for us to open upon arrival!

  • If you want the Treme/7th Ward experience then this place is for you.

    Regula2017-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a great time here! The home was very cute and suited our needs. We used Uber at night, and it was typically a $7 trip to the French Quarter. Walls are a little thin so we could hear people next door. Otherwise it was great!

Classic old New Orleans "shotgun" house. Vintage, rustic living. Not glamorous. Not a hotel. Cracks in the walls, old doors. Located just a few blocks from the French Quarter and only two blocks from "The Marigny" and a short walk to Frenchmen Street with live jazz and blues bars and clubs playing all through the night. First time using Airbnb? Get $40 off your stay with this link! https://abnb.me/e/IfmJLljEJJ
100 year old shotgun house and you can feel it. It has cracks in walls here and there. It has old charm but the claw-foot bathtub has stains that won't come out and that's a problem for some people. I love this house but it's not for people who are not ok with "bohemian/rustic" living.
15 min walk to French Quarter and 10 min walk to Frenchmen Street. 2 blocks from bus and street car. 70% black, 30% white ish. For all of you who think that black is dangerous this will not be a good town for you. My neighbors are friendly and usually its very quiet and residential. Kids play basketball in the street. People hang out on their porches etc.
  • This unique house is as charming as it looks. You will be living like a local in this hip up and coming neighbourhood. An easy walk to the French Quarter. The apartment was very clean with an abundance of towels, clean linens and the kitchen was well stocked. Isobel was easy to communicate with and made check in and out a breeze. Wish we could have stayed longer.

    Tiffany & Martin2016-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Isobel was quick to get back to me when needed. Upon arrival the neighborhood could look questionable. But that's New Orleans for you. She leaves good information for you in her welcome letter. Read it. Please follow her advice, don't go exploring up to/past Claiborne, and for most people, I wouldn't recommend walking to or from her place at night. Get a taxi/Uber. But that goes for the majority of the city. The neighborhood that this bnb is in isn't bad, it's "mixed." However just like almost everywhere in New Orleans, the "ghetto" is only a couple blocks away. Some people might feel uncomfortable about neighborhoods with iron bars over the windows and doors, some are going to understand it's purpose. If you are the type to see bars and automatically think you're in the ghetto, this place may not be for you. If you know that safety is more about your choices than it is about "mixed" neighborhoods and iron bars, then you will be fine here and most likely enjoy yourself. Isobel's place was great and I loved what she has done with it. It's as authentic NOLA as you can get. Which unfortunately includes certain surrounding neighborhood shortcomings. I never felt threatened, but I know the city, I know when and where not to go. A young family might feel differently. All in all, Isobel's place is great and priced right. She has everything you'll need and is a cheap taxi ride anyway from everything.

    Nick2015-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Overall experience was a blast. Isobel was very informative and provided local restaurants, shops, and live music spots she recommended to check out. Location of the Airbnb was a convenient walk or quick uber ride to all of our destinations. Neighborhood looks very "sketchy" and "run down" but don't let that turn you away. We had no issues our entire stay, everyone was very friendly & respectful.

    Anna2016-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Good price, good location. Great host!

    Valton2015-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little apartment, simple but full of character, not far from the French quarter so we walked back and forth regarly. The area seemed friendly enough, but it's not a "posh" area by any description and i know that my mum would not feel comfortable walking around. Thankfully she wasn't with us. It did take until the last day to get the wifi password though, which was a pain.

    Ruby2014-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Everything at Isobel's was clean and easy. Full two bedroom, railroad apartment not far from the French quarter. We fell in love with the surrounding neighborhood. Tons of fun restaurants and bars in the neighborhood. The apartment has everything you need for your stay. It has old-school, rustic charm. Would stay again.

    Myrna2014-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We were welcomed on rather short notice, for which we were grateful, although we never actually met our hosts. In any case Isobel and Michael quickly responded to messages. For the price, this was a great spot. We had to hoof two miles to the convention center each day, which was not a problem since my buddy and I enjoy walking. On my last night/morning, I had a run-in with local wildlife—in brief, I was awakened by the sound of mice in the kitchen, and when I went to check out the situation, a mouse almost ran into my foot while I was standing at the counter. This is no comment on Michael or Isobel, of course, since they can’t control mice in the area. It’s more a comment on the age of the home and maybe the neighborhood, but for the price, the accommodations, etc., it’s tough to beat (in my opinion).

    Spencer2017-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • You can prob do better. Tried to make us leave earlier than the actual check out time so she could clean for next person. Then made other excuses why. Even though when we checked in, the beds had dirty sheets on beds and dirty towels in the bathroom. She did come and clean while we were out though. Anyway. I don't like bad mouthing people. But it's a review, and I'm being honest

Visit our 100-year-old warehouse loft! We are one block from the Canal Streetcar in a true NOLA neighborhood. 2 Blocks to Whole Foods & Lafitte Greenway bike path. Near French Quarter, Mardi Grad Parade Routes and Fairgrounds.
Location, location location! We are close to everything! We lived uptown for many years and just moved. We love it here and can walk to everything. There is free, ample street parking right in front of the property.
  • I will definitely consider staying again on my next trip to NOLA. I took a 10 minute walk to Whole Foods and to a small movie theater near by. An Uber to any part of the French Quarter is between $6-$7.

    Chiv2016-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • The place was fine, but a bit weird - a fridge and microwave, but not really a kitchen - no sink, and very limited dishes/glassware. Isn't really in the warehouse district, is in Treme, which is a great neighborhood, super historic, and friendly neighbors, but totally different than warehouse.

    Jeff2017-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it!

    Matt2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jonny and Keely are great people and have an amazing location! They are turning this old warehouse into a stylish and cozy place to stay while exploring all New Orleans has to offer. A plus for some people is having the lock code on your private bed and bath. Their place is in the middle of everything you would want to do in the city and very close to the French Quarter. It was easy to go back and forth between sites and the rental.

    Kristen2018-02-28T00:00:00Z

Super cute attic studio loft in the heart of the Bywater/St. Claude neighborhood. A short walk to most Bywater bars and restaurants, a 5 minute drive or 10 minute bike ride to the French Quarter.
This cozy loft apartment has two comfortable full beds, a well stocked kitchen with gas stove and fridge, and a full bathroom with tub and shower. The apartment is petite- about 300 sq ft with sloping attic ceilings that run about 6'5' at their highest point. Guests can sit view the downtown from the attic balcony, and hang out in the big backyard. There's free wifi, a stereo, and a washer and dryer on site, as well as access to the house's main costume closet through the apartment's back door. There are 3 guest bikes to borrow (an eclectic but working mix of cruisers and road bikes). It's the very best way to get around the city!
We're a block in on the lake side (north side) of St. Claude Ave. The neighborhood is super diverse, a mix of working class families and artists. The house is on a quiet street but a short walk to Vaughn's, BJ's or Bacchanal for live music almost every night of the week. Delicious restaurants like The Joint, Satsuma or Elizabeth's are also all within walking distance. We're right around the corner from the St. Claude Arts District, Shake Sugary bakery, and the Alvar Library, and only six blocks to Crescent Park- a brand new park the runs along the Mississippi River through the length of the Bywater.
  • Great location. Funky & fun. The bikes rock! Thanks

    Greg2017-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Gabrielle's brother got us checked in. The space was small and tight but very cozy for the two of us. Would be a difficult place for more than two people or anyone over 6 feet, but other than hitting our head in the bathroom a couple times, it was great. Excellent neighborhood location convenient to restaurants and more in the Bywater/Marigny or to hop in 10 to head over to Garden District or Mid City. Thanks!

    Mike2016-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to see New Orleans.. This is a great place to stay. Just a short bike ride from the French Quarter, a small, but comfortable appartement and very friendly neighbors. (i did not meet Gabrielle, but one of her brothers was very nice and quick to respond to any questions) Gabrielle was away, but still very quick to respond to any and all questions that we had. If you are going to New Orleans, staying here is a treat!

  • We had a wonderful time. Perfect location and lots of tips from the host.

    Selma2018-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Everything at Gabrielle's was as explained. It was a very cozy space for my boyfriend and me. You do have to do a bit of ducking around the sides of the loft, but neither of us found it to be uncomfortable. If you stay, definitely check out the places Gabrielle recommends. We visited the Joint and Satsuma and loved it. Very cool places. The French quarter and touristy spots aren't too far away, but there are lots of very cool, walkable spots within the neighborhood that are worth checking out. We will definitely be returning again soon!

    Kaitlyn2017-09-08T00:00:00Z

One of a kind house overlooking Bourbon St. and Orleans Ave. across from the Bourbon Orleans Hotel. This overlooks Bourbon Street in the exact center of the French Quarter.
This is an upstairs unit with a corner Bourbon Street balcony in the middle of one of the most iconic locations in the city.
This is a unique place and you will be living in the very center of the French Quarter. I love our neighborhood because of its uniqueness, diversity, and liveliness. It is so rich with history and recognizable around the world as " New Orleans". Whether it's 3 o'clock in afternoon or 3 o'clock in the morning, there is always something going on in the French Quarter.
  • Loved my weekend there with two girlfriends! A few more amenities would have been nice: ice in the freezer upon arrival, more provided coffee and real coffee mugs. Overall though, still a very fun, convenient place to stay in the Quarter!

    Susan2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • perfect place for the location looks out over bourbon. love listening to the music and people watching. close to everything

  • The location of this listing is undeniably fantastic! We were able to drop our luggage at the hotel across the street and were excited when we were offered early check in!! We explored the area until we retired for the evening and enjoyed the balcony for the rest of the evening. The beds are also quite comfortable!

    Kristin2017-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • The host was very quick and helpful with responses. The room was clean and ready to go right at check-in. He was there to greet and give some friendly tips. Location was amazing right in the heart of Bourbon St. and close to great bars and restaurants with a great balcony view of the fun! Would recommend and stay again. Helpful tip though... no cups, ice or wine opener etc. so if you’re planning to bring food or drinks come prepared.

    Elene2018-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Andres's place is all about location. It's right in the heart of the French Quarter on Bourbon close to all you could possibly need. The only complaint I had is that the listing states that a kitchen is part of the amenities, however there is no stove, oven, plates/bowls/cups (though there were some paper cups and plastics utensils in the cupboards), or any other cookware. We were planning on cooking some of our own meals while in New Orleans and weren't able to. Also the listing states that Wi-Fi is available, however we were unable to connect to or find any Wi-Fi in the apartment. This wasn't too big of a deal to us, however just another discrepancy from the listing. Overall the place is great and the location is fantastic, however don't plan on having access to a full kitchen.

Please see calendar for daily rates! Some days are lower than others!
Built in the 1860's, "Little Orange" is half of a "shotgun"; thus, it boasts the hallmarks of traditional New Orleans architecture: 13 foot ceilings, cypress mantels, pocket doors, tall shuttered windows, and hardwood floors. The shutters are a vibrant orange to remind you of this city's Caribbean spirit. Bienvenue aux tropiques! The apartment is fully furnished and appointed, the space comprised of a living-room (with queen pull-out couch), equipped kitchen, one bedroom, and small bath. There's wifi, a large flat screen TV, burglar alarm, granite counters, stainless steel appliances, washer/dryer. And a great book collection too. The apartment is best suited for two people; however, it can sleep four when using the pull-out couch. As of Sept. 2016, there's a brand new Queen mattress in the bedroom: it's a Comfort Dreams Select-A Memory Foam (medium-firm) and very comfortable! Please know that when the couch is extended in the living-room, that common space radically shrinks. There's a $25 fee per adult guest #3 and #4. There is no additional fee for children. The front porch overlooks a full block of green space (Annunciation Square Park), home to many soccer and kickball games. There's a basketball court in the park as well (and so a basketball sits in the bedroom closet for you too). I spend more time on the porch than I do in the living-room. The porch also overlooks my small--but robust!--butterfly garden where a small fountain burbles. It's a great place to drink coffee in the morning and wine in the evening, and I hope the night-blooming jasmine is working its perfume when you're here! The apartment is an easy stroll to lower Magazine Street, known for its many boutiques, antique shops, bars, and eateries, as well as to the Warehouse District/CBD and French Quarter. Please check out my map/guidebook! I've mainly tagged places to which you can easily stroll, but I'm happy to offer suggestions for outings in farther flung areas of town. The house is not far from the Convention Center, Mardi Gras World/Productions, The Chicory (wedding venue) and Second Line Stages. If you are in town for a conference/event or working on a film, my location can't be beat. Likewise, if you're in town for a game, a cheap cab ride gets you to the Super dome quickly. This neighborhood has been dubbed one of New Orleans' hottest for obvious reasons. There really is a ton to see and do (and eat) right here. For those interested in getting out to explore other parts of the city/state, it's worth knowing that my location offers convenient access to I-10. No need to traverse all of uptown or the Quarter to find the interstate. The on-ramp is three blocks away, which means the West Bank is five minutes away, the airport, 20 without traffic. If you don't have a car, the bus runs along both Magazine and Tchoupitoulas. I bought this property for its convenience of location. Although the apartment is an easy distance to many hot spots, the neighborhood itself is quiet--another reason I bought this property. Your sleep will not be disturbed by traffic or street cheer. The Mississippi rolls by just two blocks away, so the hood has a sultry "edge of town" feel. I love this about it. Neither uptown nor downtown, it floats in between, spooned by the river(URL HIDDEN) Regretfully, pets are not allowed.
Lower Magazine Street is made for wandering. Just two blocks away, it offers an endless stream of boutiques, cafes, bars, coffee shops, and restaurants of all price ranges. Many guests choose to devote one full day to exploring Magazine. In terms of immediate surroundings, my neighbor is restoring a gorgeous, but run-down, New Orleans Greek-revival mansion. He is doing the work himself (!) with the help of family and friends (it is an impressive undertaking), so his construction work is intermittent. Often there are sizable breaks between bursts. For the most part, it is quite quiet, but construction work does flare up from time to time. As 99% of previous reviews attest, noise is not a regular feature of Little Orange life, yet all potential guests should indeed be aware of the potential for construction noise. Whenever my neighbor communicates his work schedule, I will pass this info along to potential as well as confirmed future guests.
  • Miejsce urządzone ze starannością, doskonale oddające klimat miasta. Bardzo komfortowe, zadbane i pozwalające na relaks. W niedalekiej odległości doskonałe knajpki. Rekomendacje i pomoc Jessiki - wszystko trafione w punkt. Zdecydowanie najlepsze miejsce, w którym zatrzymalismy się podczas ostatnich dwóch tygodni pobytu w Stanach.

  • This apartment has been one of my favorite Airbnb experiences yet! The space is tastefully decorated, charming, and comfortable. The porch, which looks out onto a park, is a great space to enjoy -- especially in the evening with the night blooming jasmine working its magic. Also it must be said that Jessica is a superb host. She is thoughtful and welcoming, making us feel completely at home in her space. And the resource guide she compiled about the restaurants and food stores easily accessible to the apartment was a great help as we explored the area. My family and I would be excited to return!

  • Little Orange IS everything you see in the apartment listing. It made our NOLA holiday so memorable. The kitchen is well outfitted, the bed comfortable, and the living area is so cozy. We watched the final episode of Treme on her comfy couch, a moment we will never forget. Having a full kitchen was so wonderful especially after a full day of walking or riding our bikes through the city. We came w/ delicious frozen meals we prepared at home. This truly made us feel like we were New Orleanians. Jessica was extremely responsive via text & email. She checked in a few times to make sure everything was going well. We will most definitely rent Little Orange again.

    Maribel And Joel2014-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica's place is great and just as pictured. Very clean. She has it well appointed and it's in a neighborhood with an easy walk to Magazine St and up to the Garden District. I loved exploring the area. Would be perfect to have a bike and use this as your base. The bed was way too soft for me but I really liked the place and enjoying a drink on her porch.

    Kate2014-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Little Orange. The house was clean and situated in a convenient location. The host did a wonderful job making us feel at home away from home. No complaints at all.

    Jonathan2014-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Jessica's airbnb! The location was perfect, the apartment was comfy and well set-up and Jessica was very attentive to our needs. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

    Ellen2016-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Little Orange was such a great place to explore NOLA. We loved the neighbourhood and walked everyday to the French Quarter. It took us about 25 mins but if you're not thay way inclined then it's a cheap fare by taxi. We also loved exploring the non-touristy part of Magazine street which was just around the corner from Little Orange. Jess was a great host; very informative, always replied to your emails and texts and she has a great sense of humor.

    Deborah2015-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • We have just returned home after our visit to New Orleans and a stay in Jessica's "Little Orange". It was a lovely little retreat just minutes away from Magazine Street with it's restaurants and unique shops. Thank you to Jessica for staying in touch right from our booking weeks ahead, just before our arrival in New Orleans and during our stay. it was apparent you wanted to help in any way if it was needed. Fortunately, our stay was flawless with no surprises. The house was just as presented on Airbnb. We loved the quiet street and the friendliness of those we met in the area. (including the porch cats!) "Little Orange" was fully equipped, very clean and comfortable with a lot of personality. It was just the right size for my husband and I. The city bus comes right by two doors away and the street car line is just a few blocks further. The Garden District neighbourhood walking tour, Lafayette Cemetery and the W.W.II Museum were only a short walk away which was ideal since we needed more walking to counterbalance all the great food we ate in NOLA! We can highly recommend this accommodation and host. Thanks Jessica.

This cute 1 bedroom/1 bathroom apartment truly feels like an oasis. Let it be your refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is located in Treme on Bayou Road, near the famed French Quarter. Perfect for Jazz Fest and other events. Book today!
Our apartment is located in a historic home. You'll appreciate the beauty of the original floors and finishes. The furnishings are both comfortable and functional, while honoring the style of the home. We can comfortably accommodate two people, although a third person could definitely sleep on the couch.
You'll love the neighborhood. Tremé is a culturally rich area, full of gorgeous architecture and a deep musical tradition. It's an easy walk to the French Quarter and famed Congo Square. Also nearby is St. Louis Cemetary #1, resting place of Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau.
  • This Airbnb was so nice. Our unit itself was beautifully renovated but still maintained all of the beautiful New Orleans architectural touches. The whole house that multiple units existed in was outrageously beautiful with a great personal touches and a lot of character. The check in process was amazing, we ended up not being able to get to the house until later on and we were able just to walk in with the code and snag the key from our unit later on in the day. Trudell was so kind and gave many suggestions for things to do and even invited me out for champagne! I’ll definitely be back

    Alexandra2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and i stayed the weekend here for Jazzfest and it was amazing! The place was beautiful and Trudell checked us in and had us all set-up upon arrival. It was so convenient and close to all the festivities! We couldn't be more pleased with this adorable apartment or Trudell and Brandon for being such wonderful hosts!!! Thank you!!

    Brett2014-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Brandon wasn't around during our weekend stay, but his mom, Trudell, was very warm and welcoming. She showed us our room (which was more like a small apartment) in the house, but beyond that we came and went as we liked. The place is about a mile away from the French Quarter, so it was easy enough to walk to where we wanted to be. Great place overall, very comfortable and welcoming. Only critique is that the bathroom has a sliding glass door which isn't opaque at all, so anyone walking past has a clear view of the toilet. Just a heads up for if you're staying here with a significant other or family and aren't at that level of comfort with them yet! (As a solution, my girlfriend and I just utilized the shower curtain as a partition and tucked one end into the medicine cabinet to give some privacy.) Great value for the price and good location!

    Matt2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Brandon and Truedell have a lovely home. It is the essence of Old New Orleans. The apt was clean and well appointed. We enjoyed our stay and will def be repeat (Website hidden by Airbnb) was relaxing and quiet. Thanks B&T....

    Richard2017-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at this apartment! It is a beautiful space, clean with all of the amenities (washer/dryer, wi-fi). Easy parking and fairly close walking distance to the French Quarter, we would stay here again!

    Kristina2014-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Brandon's boutique apt. in Treme. Had some trouble getting in initially (Brandon was out of town), but we were let in by a resident in one of the apartments, Glenn. Apartment was exactly as it looked in the photos and in great condition. Nice treats and toiletries left for us as well (plus champagne). Overall, the apartment was great. It was a quick walk to the action during the day, but I don't recommend walking at night (we took cabs or used uber, which seems to be growing in popularity in N.O.). All in all, a great stay.

    Jamie2015-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely no complaints. Great location and great apartment. Would certainly stay again.

    Ricardo2016-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed in. The host was responsive before we got there so we knew there would be someone to meet us. Upon our arrival, it was clean and just breathtaking. Our host left us Champagne, cake, a sandwich (all from Louisiana). The house was in a quiet area and only about a mile walk from the French Quarter and a couple miles to downtown. I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful apartment. I would stay here every time I am in New Orleans if I could!!

Our cool and comfortable studio apartment is the perfect little hideaway to retreat to after enjoying this beautiful city. It comfortably fits two and is located in the beautiful Oak lined neighborhood of Carrolton. Just one block from the Carrolton/St.Charles Streetcar line and walking distance to many restaurants/bars.
You have private access to a bottom floor studio apartment. You will have full private access to the whole studio and come and go as you please.
My studio is nestled on the bottom floor of my two story house and I currently occupy the upstairs so I will be available for anything you may need. Located in the beautiful neighborhood of Carrolton, it's far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the CBD and French Quarter, but one block from the Carrolton/St Charles Street car line (20 minute ride on the streetcar to downtown or Napoleon Avenue where all the uptown Mardi Gras parades start). Oak street is a 4 block walk from the apartment where there are a lot of local restaurants and bars including the famous Maple Leaf bar and Jacques-Imo's Creole Restaurant. Just a few more blocks down is the famous diner Camellia Grill and the streetcar can take you directly Downtown/French Quarter and the shopping on Magazine street.
  • Claire was a great host! She was very accommodating when I asked to move up the check-in time and ensured I enjoyed my stay.

    Jeffrey2018-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Claires place was perfect for a individual or a couple. Well equipped, clean and in an ideal location for getting out and exploring N.O. The trolley line a block away goes by garden district the zoo, warehouse district. Magazine street and ends in the French Quarter. Numerous excellent restaurants in walking distance and groceries nearby too. Claire's communication was great and when minor issues arose addressed quickly without question. Would highly recommend.

    Murray2018-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Claire’s studio was a home away from home. We honestly didn’t want to leave! It was very clean, and absolutely gorgeous. I will definitely be staying there again.

    Megan2017-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very easy booking and a great space!

    Ann Marie2018-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Claire welcomed us at our arrival and was very accommodating. This place is great: it's cozy, Claire provided a lot of niceties and it was super convenient. Looking forward to coming back!

    Anita2016-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Claire was accomdating and welcoming. The location was perfect for touring uptown and driving downtown to the French Quarter, streetcar was also in walking distance which was terrific. the bed was comfortable and for a basement apt was big enough for two people. THe full kitchen had all amenities to cook also, wine opener included! :)

    Linda2016-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say but wonderfull . Everything down to the small detail was covered with Clair’s place . The location is beautiful if you are into lovely architecture going for a walk around the area you can’t help but stop at every second home and enjoy the view . The personal contact with Clair makes the stay all that more convenient always up to suggesting things in the area and help full with any questions I had . The apartment is very nicely styled and very personal , no road noise near by makes you feel like you’re all on your own . Makes for a great nights sleep. Overall the value is superb and have not a single complaint .

    Alex2018-02-21T00:00:00Z

Great, 2 large room suite with king bed, new jacuzzi (someone broke the jacuzzi part) bath and all the amenities you need. There's a mini fridge (for all your great local leftovers), microwave, coffee maker, tea pot, brita water and cable/wifi.
2 large private rooms (parlor and bedroom) and full bath in a great location, with cafe & coffee shops nearby. The bedroom has a king size bed and the parlor room has a twin bed, if you need more sleep areas. I also have a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The space has your own private locked entrance and is just off my front porch, which is a great spot to have your morning coffee or tea. Easy off-street parking, too. I have 2 bikes (huffy’s) you can use at your own risk, but you need to let me know before I leave for work so I can get them out for you. You are responsible for damage or theft and I req a $10/bike use fee to cover maintenance, bc it req extra work to tend to bikes. There are neighborhood rentals, but I think they are 30-40/day. Also, if traveling w pet need to approve with me and there is a $20 fee for pets. If you are a solo guest or staying longer than 6 days I will give you a break on price!o
The marigny is the greatest neighborhood and this space is all yours--its your own oasis in the front of my house w own entry. Easy and close (usually just in front of house) street parking. You can walk to the French quarter, frenchmen st., or just enjoy all the marigny has to offer. I have cable, wi-fi, central ac & am willing to consider pets. Note: I have 2 dogs & 2 cats that are very friendly, but they stay in my living space. This is a great place to stay for an authentic new Orleans experience in one of usa's best neighborhoods (look it up, it's true).
  • Beautiful neighborhood, easy to check-in (once I found the check-in info, I'm new to air bnb so it was probably that!) Kerrie left us snacks, umbrellas (it was rainy weather!), maps, and brochures, so planning was a breeze. The space was beautiful, large, and clean! highly recommended.

    Jonathan2015-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Kerrie's place is really great and a 15 minute walk to the French Quarter. The place was fantastically clean and the neighborhood is quiet and feels safe. We walked home in the evenings without any incidents. The place has everything you could need for a stay in the great city. I would definitely recommend booking with Kerrie :)

    Johan2015-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing little apartment in the Marigny, just a few blocks from Frenchman and a wander into the Quarter. Wonderful host who made us welcome and we felt at home. Definitely would recommend this oasis in the Marigny :)

    Jess2014-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This IS a great Oasis in the wonderful neighborhood of Marigny. It is lovely private two bedroom space with bathroom & tub.... HUUUGE comfy king size bed. Close to a couple great cafes & bars, and only a few blocks from the fun fun Frenchman St! Safe, beautiful spot and close to all the good action. My Friend & I had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to anyone. You should count yourself lucky if you get to stay here. Thanks so much Kerrie!

    Anna2012-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely space, exactly as advertised. The neighborhood is adorable (make sure to have breakfast at Cake Cafe!), the rooms were beautiful, the bed was comfortable, and Kerrie was easy to contact when we had a question. Would happily stay here again next time we're in town.

    Johanna2015-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Although we did not meet Kerrie in person, she was in regular communication with us and took care to make sure that everything was working for us. Our arrival was easy and Kerrie's "Oasis" was all set up. Kerrie has information available that was helpful to us since we like to walk to dinner and entertainment. Of course, good food and entertainment is not hard to find in New Orleans. We walked across the French Quarter to an excellent dinner at Herbsaint one night, and spent two nights on Frenchmen Street which is just several blocks from Kerrie's Oasis. Excellent coffee and breakfast is just down the block. Kerrie's place is very comfortable, private and plenty quiet for us. We would gladly go back to Kerrie's and would recommend her place to friends.

    Chuck2013-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Kerrie was a great host. Communicative and accessible. Her place is in a great part of the Marigny.

    Scott2014-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Kerrie's place was an excellent value in a prime location for exploring New Orleans. The immediate area has cool coffee shops and delicious restaurants with a fairly quick walk to the more popular tourist attractions. We especially liked the comfy bed which we overused to recover from food comas and the local soaps in the bathroom. Maybe not the height of luxury, but the space is plenty private with lots of character for a great price.

Amazing aprtment in a Historic Mansion located in Treme. This home is located wonderful neighborhood to have a real New Orleans experience. This home is full of history and culture. One bedroom, one sofa bed, a full kitchen and a wonderful balcony .
  • I really enjoyed my stay in New Orleans. Brandon was away but Trudell was more than welcoming. The apartment was bright and sunny , a great place to relax after a long day of wandering. The location is an easy walk to the French Quarter and convenient to other areas as well. The house itself is gorgeous and I looked forward to returning each day especially with such a pleasant host. I would highly recommend staying here. I also appreciated the basket of toiletries, which is a nice touch. If I return to New Orleans I would definitely stay here again, it was a great experience!

    Christina2016-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Really great space with everything you need. Brandon and Truedell were very accommodating. The place was extremely clean and I felt like we were in a upscale hotel. I would very recommend anyone to stay here!

    Harrison2017-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Truedell was an amazing host! Such a sweet lady! She gave us a lot of ideas for places to go! She's was so fun to chat with and very personable! Gave us the history of the home which was pretty cool! We really wished we stayed longer! I guess that's means we will have to come back! We left our car and used Uber, which was very cheap ($7) about a 5 min ride from the French Quarter. There was coffee in the kitchen and shampoo and soap was there if you forgot. Home is beautiful, loved hearing New Orleans Jazz playing as you walked in and made our trip unique!

    Rebecca2018-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • My sister and I had a perfect time at Brandon's apartment. It's an exquisite property and we loved the cosy and elegant apartment, that's also well-decorated and up to date with great air conditioning and bathroom etc. The location was very good for strolling down to the French Quarter and we also enjoyed hanging out in the apartment - made a few light meals with the simple but functional kitchen. In all this was a dream stay and we'd love to be back someday!

    Lingxiu2016-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • I throughly enjoyed my stay here. The place was clean and the hosts were very accommodating. Although I never met the hosts in person they were always a quick text away and they always responded promptly and with good advise. The place is within walking distance to the French quarter, and the neighborhood felt safe to walk around in during the day. All in all great location.

    Chelsea2017-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Good loacation (7 minute cab from French quarter/bourbon st), easy check in process, good tips from host on local food/bars, plenty of spaces for two guys.

    Dean2018-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very very good time at Brandon place. The place is very nice, very close from French corner and Brandon provide a service of quality that you don't find in most hotel. Only things to mention: the bed is too soft and the wifi is only covering half of the flat. But nothing that can actually ruin your stay in New Orleans.

    Alaric2016-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at Brandon's Place. We were greeted by his mom, who was extremely friendly and welcoming. She showes us around the place and educated us about the neighborhood. She informed us about areas that were safe as well as gave us ideas on places to go. I went to New Orleans during mardi gras, so it was a bit chaotis in the neighborhood but it was all in good fun. The place is not that far from bourban street so we walked there, which is not a bad walk at all. It was great to come back to a place with AC and have the comfort of relaxing here. Only complain was that the place lacked supplies, like toilet paper, trash bags, and dish soap. Also, the pull out bed was missing a spring so it sunk in a little. Other than that all was good, we had plenty of clean towels, linens, and extra pillows for the pullout bed.

Just outside of the French Quarter! Basically everything is walkable from the property!
  • Great stay and service - good value and close to French quarter

    Gregory2017-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Location, location, location! We stayed at Brent’s place to be in walking distance to the Saenger Theatre, and it did not disappoint. It was a 5 minute walk (maybe) to the theatre and 10-15 minute walk to Bourbon Street and Jackson square. It’s a small room and a little cramped for 4 people. But, if you need a home base for your French quarter adventure, it is perfect. Clean, comfy beds, and an unbeatable location. 5 stars

    Logan2018-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great value. Convenient location. Grateful for access to basic kitchen supplies. Brent was very responsive and gave great info. Noise seemed to travel easily within building (could hear neighbor's conversations) so would recommend ear plugs.

  • Brent's place was fantastic. Very clean and walking distance to numerous places. Brent was also very responsive and thorough. Would highly recommend staying here!

  • Nice and stylish building with security and a door man. Everything is super walkable. Brent was super responsive and all in I had a great stay.

  • Great place! Easy access to parking garage (for great overnight price), easy access to canal street car. Great and secure building. Perfect place for a small family or couple. Community room, theater, etc great addition. Great host who responded immediately to any questions or concerns. Easy check in and check out. Overall a great value and place for a trip to New Orleans... We were a little jealous we could move and live there permanently!

    Jennifer2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Communication with the host was open and always good. The location was decent. There were many problems with amenities in the house that weren't necessarily resolved all the way through by the time we left. Apartment definitely cost too much for the value in my opinion.

Virginia was very helpful & accomodating, making sure we were very comfortable and aware of what our surroundings were. The apartment was well stocked and perfect for 3-4 people. Location was fantastic walking distance to everywhere.

I got sick the day I arrived. Missy and Bryan were so amazing!!! They kept my pup for me while I went to the ER. Not to mention they opened their home to me after the flood in Baton Rouge which caused me to lose all of my belongings. I am forever grateful.

Felina Nicole was super understanding and easygoing. Her place was easy to get to and felt like an oasis when I got there. She was a thoughtful host and although I was only there briefly. Her place is clean, beautifully designed, and has great energy. I would stay there again in a heartbeat when I return to New Orleans.
