We designed the Guest House for friends and family and we love sharing the space with people traveling to Bellingham. Within walking distance of both Western Washington University and downtown Bellingham--both are within a mile--the Guest House is a convenient, private and affordable option when visiting the City of Subdued Excitement. Please note that the Guest House is quite small (200sf), it has a queen bed in the loft and a full sized futon on the main floor.
This small space (200sf) is great for an affordable, private stay in Bellingham. We offer a queen bed in the loft and a full sized futon couch/bed on the main floor. Therefore, the space can accommodate four, but is not ideal as the space is small. We do offer a fridge on the porch and a coffee pot, but there is NO kitchen. Guests should also be aware that the lofted bed has sturdy, ladderesque stairs. However, there is not a lot of head room in the loft and it can be difficult to navigate especially if you are elderly or disabled or exceptionally tall. If you are not comfortable with stairs we can certainly set up the futon or we recommend finding more suitable accommodations.
The best part of the neighborhood (York) is that it is in close proximity to everything. We are within walking distance to downtown Bellingham and Western campus (both are within a mile). There are also a couple neighborhood diners/pubs that are great places to unwind while enjoying Bellingham. Bellingham has also become a destination for craft beer with about 15 breweries and several tap houses--many are located less than a mile from the Guest House. You should also note that the neighborhood is well represented by University students who occasionally exhibit normal University student energy.
  • It had snowed a lot before we arrived and we thought the place might be cold. However, it was lighted, clean and cozy when we arrived. Chris and Amy thoughtfully left out crisp apples and other snacks. There were even a couple of beers in the cooler for us. The location, a residential neighborhood, was close enough for us to walk to dinner and breakfast, but we did not because of the snow. Our hosts thoughtfully put out the main floor bed, since both of us have knee trouble and the loft would not have been as comfortable for us as for others. A diamond shaped stained glass window gave a lovely glow at night. Our hosts did everything possible to make our first experience with Airbnb a great one.

  • Had a nice peaceful short overnight stay here. Clean and comfortable. Need to be confident about climbing narrow stairs to the bed in loft. I would stay here again. It would be even better with a mini-fridge installed.

    Gordon2017-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location (15 minute walk to downtown), friendly hosts, and some welcome surprises to make you feel at home! Thanks Chris & Amy!

    Kyle2016-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Amy and Chris's little cottage is in a great location, we were able to walk downtown very easily. Just enough space for what we needed well worth the price! The stairs to the loft bed might be tricky if you are tall. Would reccomwnd if you are looking for an affordable home base while visiting Bellingham.

    Nikki2017-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay if you plan on exploring the city. Cozy place to spend the night after a day of walking around Bellingham. Great hosts as well! Great communication!

    Joshua2017-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay at Chris and Amy's guest suite! The space is cozy, the area is walkable to the university and downtown, parking is easy, and the neighborhood was quiet. Traffic noise from I-5 is there, but not really noticeable. The suite has its own entrance so it's really private, and features a comfy bed and nice shower. The wifi worked well too. Don't hesitate to book this one!

    Jeffrey2017-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This house was perfect for our visit to Bellingham. Chris provided all the information we needed to arrive and enter the house. The weather was miserable. But the house was warm and cozy when we arrived. The beds and bedding were exceptionally comfortable. The location could not have been more convenient for our visit with family in the Fairhaven area. We will deffinitely stay there again in the future.

    Gayle2015-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Amy were great hosts! They were flexible with my late check in request and I ended up being early, I was in town for a culinary competition. I look forward to booking again soon to explore Bellingham a bit better. Great place to stay!

The Pleasant Bay Lookout is a private room with a spectacular view, nestled in the trees. Guests access our family's home (where we live full time) for kitchen, bathroom, living room, hot tub, and other household amenities. We feel fortunate to welcome guests to this tucked-away oasis of peace and beauty. Meeting accurate expectations is very important to us - we only accept requests from those with complete profiles who let us know they've read our entire listing description. Thank you!
The Pleasant Bay Lookout is nestled in a forest overlooking the Salish Sea. Its stunning beauty and simplicity have been showcased widely, including on Airbnb's Instagram, in local magazines and on many websites. The Lookout is simple: one room (121 square feet) with a comfortable recliner, a modern sofa that converts to a bed, a glass wall with a breathtaking view, and a deck to experience the sound of the sea, songbirds and sun, rain and shifting clouds firsthand. As one guest said: "The space is small in footage but huge on character and coolness. The back wall is all glass. It leads out to a deck and offers a beautiful view of the woods and the bay. The view makes the whole room feel as big as the whole out of doors." We care about beauty, connection, real things, and the Lookout reflects that; much of its features were made by us or locally sourced. There is a branched tree from our property to hang your coat, a live edge coffee table made by Peter, and thoughtfully chosen art on the walls. In the main house - which you'll share with us, as we live there full time - you'll eat at a handcrafted breakfast bar, use Aimee's homemade soap in the shower, and enjoy a fire with wood from our property. Note that there is no bathroom in the Lookout - it's a 40 second walk to the bathroom in the house, which is open 24/7 for your use. The common trend for visitors to the Lookout is to arrive and cast off any plans they have: most seem to fall into the state described in Italian as "La Dolce Far Niente - The Sweetness of Doing Nothing." The main house is a 30 second walk from the Lookout. We live in the house, and are grateful to share it with Lookout guests from all over the world. Though fifty years old, it is comfortably modern, built on a forested bluff above a picturesque bay with a simple design and architecture that integrates with its surroundings. Most walls of the house are made of glass, making a moving painting with the flight of birds, trees dancing in the wind, moonlight and dappled sunlight - it truly is a feast for the senses. The sensory delight increases when you go outside the Lookout or house – the forest is alive with songbirds, shorebirds, raptors and peekaboo views. Raccoon and deer wander through, and Chuckanut Mountain trails and beaches are a short walk, bike ride, paddle or drive away. There are many options for nature excursions and adventures right outside our door. The Pleasant Bay Lookout is ideal for nature lovers, outdoor adventurers, and those who want simple accommodations in a beautiful natural setting. • Note that the Lookout and our home are nestled in the trees, but not built IN a tree like a typical treehouse. • Meeting accurate expectations is very important to us, so please let us know you've read our entire listing description and understand the arrangement between Lookout and main house when you send a booking request. Thank you!
With Chuckanut Mountain behind us and the Salish Sea in front, hikers, bikers, and kayakers will find easy access to all three activities from the studio. The Interurban Trail is just up the road. Heading south on the Interurban you'll reach the trails, lakes and seashore of 2683-acre Larrabee State Park in five minutes; walking north, you can stroll or bike five miles to town if you'd like, all on a forested trail overlooking the sea. Launching a boat from a nearby area will bring you to a beautiful coastline, with Chuckanut Island as the gem of Chuckanut Bay. For years, our family has been the caretakers of this special place, owned by the Nature Conservancy. The world renowned beauty of Chuckanut Drive is moments away – enjoy it by bicycle or car. The quaint village-within-the-city of Fairhaven is 10 minutes and downtown Bellingham is 20 minutes by car (if you lack a vehicle, we're happy to carpool the short distance to town as we're able). The Skagit Valley is just 20 minutes south along Chuckanut Drive. Venturing east, you can reach the glorious mountains, rivers, and waterfalls of the North Cascades in just over an hour. Driving west, you can be on a ferry to the pristine San Juan islands in under an hour. If you'd like, you can touch a glacier and enjoy a picnic on a beach in the same day! The Chuckanut area and Bellingham region are an outdoor recreation and nature lovers' paradise. We're the Northwest epicenter for sea, mountain, lake, and river activities, as well as island hopping and visiting local farms of every variety (vineyards, vegetables, fruit, meat, dairy). If you'd prefer a more urban vacation, Bellingham has great markets, diverse shopping opportunities, varied restaurants and nightlife, great local breweries, and one of the most beautiful university campuses in Washington state. We're situated equidistant to Vancouver BC and Seattle, so big city attractions are just a 90 minute drive away.
  • The Lookout was just as described. Aimee was a welcoming and helpful host.

    Laura2014-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Aimee and Peter are incredible Airbnb hosts. Although they were out for a majority of my stay, they still made me feel very welcome in their beautiful home. The pictures speak for themselves, but once you arrive there...you'll have a chance to really experience the beauty of their property. Good communication and very responsible, professional process along the way. Would recommend to anyone! Thank you!

    Andrew2014-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Aimee and Peter could not have been more welcoming. They were very helpful in helping me learn about Bellingham and the surrounding area. Very secluded and cozy spot. They were very good about sharing their home with me, as well.

    Tom2014-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Aimee and Peter were great hosts, they made us feel welcome right from the start! This space is beautiful; we loved sleeping with the glass door open and being able to hear the water below throughout the night and wake up to birds singing and chirping in the morning! We recommend taking the short hike down to the water, it is a simple waterfront but the simplicity of it is what makes it so unique and beautiful. We sat on the rocks by the water to bird watch. At first we were a bit nervous about having to come into the main house to use the shower and restroom, but Aimee and Peter made us feel so welcome that we quickly forgot that we were unsure to begin with. This is definitely a beautiful getaway that we recommend, and hope to be able to come back again also! (If you are coming on I-5 South, we recommend taking (Website hidden by Airbnb) is breathtakingly beautiful)

  • Great airbnb experience. Really beautiful home and family, very good hosts. Highly recommend.

    Tanner2014-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • A very special place, hosted by a kind and lovely family. If you're looking for a little Zen, you'll find it here.

    Louise2016-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful view, neatly designed, Aimee and Peter had lots of info about surrounding area!

    Nathalie2014-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Aimee and Peter were very welcoming and accommodating. The directions to get there were detailed and necessary, as it's fairly remote. The room was warm, views were as advertised, and they made us comfortable using their house kitchen and bathroom. Great people and great room, would love to stay there on my next Bellingham visit.

Amy and I have recently updated this turn of the century, 800+ sf character home. The Bungalow is located within walking distance of both WWU (1 mile) and downtown Bellingham (1 mile) and the neighborhood boasts several great breweries and dining options. The bungalow is located on a dead end, single-family zoned street and is a great option for someone looking for a private, centrally located and affordable neighborhood place to stay while visiting Bellingham.
This house is a turn of the century character home in the York neighborhood. We have relished the opportunity to fix it up. Major updates have been made to the roof and electrical. I installed new hardwood to the foyer, living room, bedroom #2 and the dining room. Both the exterior and interior have fresh coats of paint and I replaced the front porch. The kitchen could use an update but is clean and has fully functional appliances and is stocked with everything you need to cook. Sorry, no dishwasher.
The best part about York neighborhood is that it is in close proximity to everything. We are within walking distance to downtown bellingham or Western campus (both are within a mile). There are also a couple neighborhood diners/pubs that are great places to unwind while enjoying bellingham. The neighborhood is well represented by University students who occasionally exhibit normal university student energy.
  • What a cute house!! Chris and Amy were great with communicate with, they left a handwritten note for me and some snacks too. Even though I didn't spend much time in the house, it was so very comfortable and located in a great neighborhood.

    Amy2016-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was place was a great deal!

    Madeleine2018-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Loved their home! Quaint, adorable, affordable, a huge plus was the off street parking, every room was clean and comfortable. Can't wait to come again!

    Chris2017-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Amy's place is WONDERFUL! It was a lot bigger than I originally expected and it was super comfy and really clean. They have lots of TV entertainment options for you (HBO, Netflix, Hulu) for those rainy days in Bellingham and the location of the Bungalow is great! This was one of the best AirBnB's I've ever stayed at and I will definitely come here again when I return to Bellingham!

    Valerie2017-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. The check-in information was communicated well (Chris even let us know we could check in early if we wanted to without us asking), the home was perfect for our needs (cute, cozy, clean, with everything provided we could need), and the location was great. We stayed here so we could explore Bellingham and then get to Mt. Baker for skiing the next day and it was perfect. I enjoyed the photography in the house too!

    Brittany2016-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here with my parents for a family wedding in Bellingham, and we were so pleased with our choice. The place felt very spacious for the three of us, was very clean, and had beautiful homey decor (we especially loved the nature photography). It just felt really mellow and relaxing, more like a home than a hotel/rental. Touches we especially liked: good Starbucks coffee provided (rather than a cheap grocery store brand), a dedicated parking spot across the street, and lockbox entry so you could get there at any time that's convenient after check-in time. We didn't use any of the videos, games, or DVDs, but appreciated that they were there. It's also very convenient to Highway 5 but we didn't hear any freeway noise. Cute walkable neighborhood -- if you have kids, you'll like the park with playground on the corner. Thanks for a great stay!

    Amy2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is an adorable little house with two bedrooms. The beds are comfortable with lots of good pillows (fluffy and soft) and Chris and Amy have done a nice job of anticipating things visitors might have forgotten. There are shampoo/soap dispensers in the shower, extra toothbrushes, coffee... The house is clean and the neighborhood is very safe and quiet, yet only a mile from Downtown.

    Jennifer2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great host and hostess! We loved the home. Lots of little special touches and loved the sheets, comfy mattresses and pillows (the best we had on our 10-day trip)! Easy access to freeway in and out.

A little cottage in Chuckanut Village, nestled creek side with a wide view of the bay. A huge garden to explore and graze from, cozy greenhouse, chicken tree house for the hens, kayaks to paddle into the bay, private hot tub, large fire pit, and BBQ.
This is a classy little cottage in Chuckanut Village, nestled literally creek side. This dynamic hangout beckons you to kick up your feet in the eclectic garden with curvy raised beds and a chicken tree house. We also have a gorgeous little greenhouse built from mostly up-cycled materials. Come collect your own eggs and graze from the garden, and stay a while. Hot tub and >5 kayaks available. We list the Hobbit House currently as a two night minimum stay. However, occasionally we have single nights left available, and you CAN make a request for those. We do have an upcharge of $30 for those single nights to cover for the extra cleaning. The cottage echos the designer main house, connected by boardwalk and lovely private garden. Hostess is a horticulturalist who loves to share creative thoughts. Watch the tides change, and smell the salt air, pick some greens for your salad from the garden and treat your palate to some fresh flavors. This retreat is ideal for one or two guests, as there is just one queen-size bed. Children are welcome as well, but please note that this space is small-- we call it the Hobbit House for a reason!-- and it is not child-proofed. The Hobbit House has a nice little galley (kitchen) inside with a mini fridge, two-burner hot plate, and toaster/convection oven. The kitchen is stocked with fresh eggs from our chickens, coffee & tea with all the fixings, a few other breakfast goodies, and cooking essentials (spices, olive oil, etc.) all included in the price of your visit! We appreciate if you eat red meat to BBQ it outside in the outdoor kitchen area adjacent to the Hobbit House. This small cedar building also houses the shower, which has a limited hot water tank. Please note that showers must be kept short! We provide environmentally friendly shower products for you to use, as the water drains into the garden. The space feels very beachy/nautical. Please note that we have a composting toilet. We have a high sensitivity to this marine environment and our mutual stewardship of this special retreat.
Incredible little historic village setting. Old and young, a blend of very friendly, mellow dog lovers.
  • This was a great place to stay for our visit to Western Wash Univ. - It was beautiful looking out on the bay, amazing hot tub and Alison had everything ready for us ! Eggs in the fridge, cream, coffee - We loved it ! I would go back in a second!

    Lynda2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing little getaway.. clean and cozy space with a bedroom view of the bay, and a creek that runs alongside a big window beside the bed. Great outdoor space as well, with garden plots, chickens, and a green house to relax in. Shower is in the main house (outdoor shower coming soon), but Alison is more than welcoming into her home. We’ll definitely be back!

    Dale And Amanda2014-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Not only was the Hobbit Home a tranquil getaway but Alison was a wonder herself! We stopped in for a brief visit to find some relaxation after an especially hectic few weeks in the city. Alison's Hobbit Hole, the hot tub, the views of the bay, her gardens, chickens, and outdoor shower gave us more than we could have hoped. In addition, the creek that runs right by the home was filled with Chum salmon as they returned to their spawning grounds, giving us a treat that entertained for hours. Book with Alison, you won't regret it!

    Mackenzie2014-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • The Hobbit Hideaway and Alison were both fantastic! The cottage is cute, cozy, and tidy. Alison kindly showed us how to use the hot tub, grill, and fire pit, and where everything was to kayak if we wanted. The garden is sprawling and beautiful and we spent a fair amount of time reading there with a view of the lake in front of us. Alison has a real talent for making a beautiful, vibrant, sustainably-minded home (chickens! a greenhouse! an outdoor shower area!).

    Petra2014-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Hobbit Hideaway is AMAZING. Super cozy, clean and beautiful scenery. The hot tub was a nice plus! I will definitely be going back.

    Audrey 2014-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is ahhmazing. Allison is so kind and welcoming. It was the perfect place for our stay in Bellingham. Waking up to the bay and ending the night in the hot tub beneath the stars. It was perfect! Definitely will be back, and highly recommend.

    Jessie2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at the Hobbit House. A unique and fun experience! We enjoyed the view from the bedroom and Alison’s hospitality!

    Ingrid2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Alison and her Hobbit House are just perfect. She's incredibly friendly, accommodating and interesting to talk to. The accommodations are a little slice of heaven. Highlights of our trip included Sabrina the property cat, soaking in the hot tub watching the stars, kayaking from behind the cottage out into Chuckanut bay, and wandering into town for good food and drink. We WILL be back one day!

Our studio is close to everything Bellingham has to offer. Just blocks from downtown, we are walking distance from nightlife, museums, restaurants, parks, and the waterfront. We know you'll dig the location! We love our Lettered Streets neighborhood, our view of the Bay, and proximity to all the good stuff. You'll feel at home with a private entrance, full kitchen, and washer/dryer. With tons of historic charm, yet a newly renovated space, this is the perfect spot to enjoy this quirky fun town!
This is the third floor of a 19th century home. There are two sets of stairs, and electronic locks to access your private studio. The studio has a full kitchen, and we provide the basics to cook simple items. If guests want to do more extensive cooking, we are happy to provide the tools, however we do not keep everything in the unit, nor do we keep any food or condiments. If you have the need for more specialty cooking tools, we ask that the guest communicates this need. This also goes for basic household items such as irons, hairdryers, etc. We are minimalists in many ways, but can always share/provide these items. We provide coffee and tea (Keurig) as well has a hot-pot for water. The space has a QUEEN size bed. The living room couch is a small futon that folds into a bed. We do not advertise this as a second bed because it is not a typical "bed". It has worked for many guests with children, or adults who don't mind their feet hanging off the edges. If you have questions about this additional bed, please message us.
Lettered Streets is an awesome neighborhood if you like to be close to downtown restaurants, bars, and businesses. We often walk to the farmers markets or to brunch, and appreciate that we are one of the closest neighborhoods to downtown Bellingham. We love all the breweries, tap-houses, and coffee shops that are blocks away from our house! It is also ideal because it is a short distance (less than a mile) from the waterfront and the Marina (Squalicum Harbor). The fact that we can walk less than a mile to the marina to inspect the yachts, watch the sunset at Zuanich park, or driftwood hunt along Squalicum Beach is a real luxury! We love our location so much, but we still feel it is important to note that because we are only blocks from downtown, parks, restaurants and the waterfront, we have some proximity to areas where the homeless population of Bellingham will congregate. As with any downtown area nationwide, homelessness is rising. It is unfortunate, but we cannot change this fact until certain systemic issues are addressed in our country. And Bellingham, even though picturesque and charming, shares the same disparity in living wage/home prices that the entire west coast is experiencing. However, we love living so close to downtown and have NO issues with our neighborhood. It is considered a desirable and very safe area to live. However, we like to give everyone a heads up... especially those folks that like to ignore that homelessness indeed exists in America. For more info on the Lettered Streets neighborhood feel free to visit: https://www.cob.org/services/planning/neighborhoods/Pages/lettered-streets.aspx
  • Lindsy and Eli's place was very cute and comfortable for our weekend in Bellingham. It was close to everything, and Lindsy provided many suggestions for places to visit.

  • This is the perfect getaway - stylish, beautifully decorated, complete with plants and walkable to downtown. Lindsy and Eli also provide a comprehensive list of great recommendations. We were fortunate to meet Lindsy in person who is as charming as you would expect, and we both agreed that Mallard ice cream needs to be added to their list.

Enjoy this cheery light filled space with a separate kitchen. Located close to Fairhaven, WWU, Downtown Bellingham, and trails that lead to Chuckanut Mtn, the bay and WWU. Let this be your hub for all you want to experience while in Whatcom County.
This space is attached to the main house where I live. There is an always locked door in the hallway between the two spaces for privacy. There are 3 different rooms which make it more than a traditional studio. The large room has a queen bed and a sitting area. There is an outside entrance to this room with a low deck that looks over the backyard and the garden. This is a great place to sit and watch the sunset. There are 3 steps up from this room into the hallway. Off the hallway there is a bathroom with a large shower (no tub) and another room for a small kitchen with a microwave, a countertop convection toaster oven, a refrigerator, a hot pot and an assortment of cooking and eating dishes and utensils. There is a second outside entrance into the kitchen. I provide tea as well as coffee beans with a grinder and a drip system with an insulated carafe. I also have basic condiments such as mustard, ketchup, vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper. I have added an option for a third guest with the use of a 4" foam trifold single size mattress that could be placed on the floor next to the queen bed. This is for guests that want to bring a child or friends that may not want to share the queen bed. Please be aware that this is not a real bed and choose this option with that knowledge.
Wren House is conveniently located close to many popular locations. We are 1 mile from a 24-hour major grocery store in a shopping center with a pharmacy, restaurants, hardware, and REI. We are 1.5 miles from Fairhaven with many shops and restaurants, 1.5 miles from WWU, 2.5 miles to downtown Bellingham with shops, restaurants and award-winning brew pubs, and just 2 blocks to a Greenways Trail that takes you to the Chuckanut Mountains or to Bellingham Bay or WWU.
  • Wren House Studio is an exceptional find. If you're in the Bellingham area for any reason, you should stay here! The bathroom was well stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap and local coffee and snacks were available for guests. The interior of the studio is clean and beautiful but waking up to a view of Sue's garden was sublime. Absolutely recommend this place and would stay again if I'm ever in this part of the world again.

    Bianca2016-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • A great little spot close to historic Fairhaven. This is a great jumping off spot for lots of activities around Bellingham. Everything you need is included and Sue is super responsive if you do need something else. If you're looking for a quiet retreat (as in, you'll be in the room most of the day) might look elsewhere. The traffic noise from I-5 was definitely noticeable, especially when semi trucks engine brake.

    Josie2015-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Wren House studio is just as it's advertised - clean, cozy, serene, and very accessible to nearby attractions. Sue made us feel very welcome, and was accommodating. It's a beautiful spot, and perfect for our needs. We'd definitely come back!

    Anna2015-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place. Quiet, clean, peaceful, comfortable. Close to Fairhaven and Bellingham.

    Meg2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Very clean, lots of thoughtful supplies and amenities available. Highly recommend for a place to sleep and have as a home base between activities.

  • We enjoyed staying Sue's cute house. The gardens were beautiful and everything you could need (especially in the kitchen and bath) was included. The location is close (driving) to Fairhaven, which we appreciated. It's very close to the freeway, but that is evident by the map and the noise is minimal. Communication with the host was excellent. We would stay here again.

    Kirsten2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • 3rd time booking this gem of a place, love it!

    Chris2018-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Sue's place is a great value for what you receive. It is also in a great location (near the interstate) and within 10-15 minutes of all the major Bellingham neighborhoods. There is no TV (just so you know), and the place is smaller than you expect. Having said this, the host was helpful and communicative, and we really enjoyed our stay.

Furnished double bedroom in a lovely cottage with garden sanctuary. Within walking distance of downtown, nearby parks, harbor. Light breakfast, coffee and tea service available. Use of microwave and refrigerator, dining room, outdoor deck, shared bathroom.
I will accommodate dog owners with prior arrangements. I have a well-trained dog, an outdoor gate system and dog run, and am an experienced pet sitter, should you wish to leave your pet in my care for an additional fee. I keep the house clean and, if you do not wish to interact with dog(s), I keep separate. I have a unique, bio-intensive garden and a pleasant outdoor sitting area.
Lettered Streets Neighborhood is well-located, adjacent to downtown Bellingham, local parks, the harbor, restaurants and shops. Easy, safe walking and biking pathways, close to bus line.
  • Koelle was a genial host and made sure we had everything we needed. Would stay here again!

  • My host was very welcoming. She had a lovely home and the provisions were lovely. The neighborhood is great.

    Cate2016-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle was a great host and the place was everything that it needed to be. She was very accommodating in scheduling trying to arrive and provided me with amazing tour of her home and her gardens. After settling in we had a great conversation and she even set me up with a date to the movies and to see the comedy theatre. Her home and the town are a great place to stay and I will be staying there again when I come back to northern Washington.

    Skyler2016-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle was very helpful with the area activities and restaurant recommendations. We had a great stay in Bellingham.

    Jim2016-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Thoroughly fantastic stay! I get the feeling hosts like Koelle are the reason the "super host" designation was created. She goes above and beyond with a passion for people and her city. Highly recommend staying with Koelle if you're lucky enough to get the chance.

    Matt2016-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle was very kind and generous with offering breakfast which is a first for me on Airbnb. She also had to deal with me arriving late and getting lost so I appreciated her patience. Her dog is friendly and her garden impressive. The neighborhood is average.

  • A wonderful experience! Beautiful setting and nicely arranged and so comfortable too.

  • Heather's place was great! So comfy for my two friends and our two pups. Bed was super comfy, hot tub was great!

    Sarah2017-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time! Made our trip to Mt. Baker much shorter and the house was so cozy to come back to after a day in the snow. Heated floors, hot tub, comfortable bed. My girlfriend loved the heated bathroom floors and my favorite was the channels available on their smart tv with X1 and NFL channel! Definitely going to remember this place for next time!

    Michael2017-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Exquisitely clean and private cottage. Slept like a baby. Thank you!

    Susan2016-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Heather is responsive and communicative. Her guest house was cute, clean, and relatively private. The main house is just across the yard, so if we had any issues, I have no doubt that Heather would have been very helpful. Would recommend - perfect little getaway from the city for the night!

    Zoe2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Heather's place is great for a quick and affordable getaway from Seattle. It is a cozy cabin in a quiet neighborhood very close to the lake and surrounded by trees. There is a common area including a mini bedroom, living and dining areas, kitchenette, and a spacious bathroom. There is a nice fireplace outside with comfortable seating around it, and there's access to the hot tub. Heather was very helpful in accommodating our early arrival and suggesting places for dining. We felt the warmth in her welcome. Thank you Heather :-)

    Malak2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Very clean and comfortable space. Love and the access to the hot tub and an outside fire right outside our door. Heather is awesome and we would totally stay again sometime.

    Alyse2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Very friendly owner. Hot tub was a big plus!

    Beth2017-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was exactly what we were hoping for: comfortable, clean, semi-secluded yet plenty close enough to downtown. We used the hot tub both nights of our stay and the fire pit was already set up for us, which was a nice and unexpected touch. Heather was an exceptional hostess. Keeping the perfect balance of letting us just do our thing while being available when we had questions (or just wanted to chat :-) ). We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

The NOMAD'S NEST is a charming private studio with a kitchenette, bathroom, & communal hot tub. It is an eco-friendly & globally inspired space entirely crafted by us with thoughtful touches throughout. Our guests often comment that it has been their favorite airbnb experience. We welcome nomadic travelers from across the globe! Please note that you climb a flight of stairs to reach it. We charge an additional one time fee of $25 if you require the set up of the sofa bed.
Thoughtfully custom built & decorated by us. We sourced our local RE-Store for materials, our nomadic adventures, & creativity. Guests have described our space by using the word “hygge,” a Danish term defined as “a quality of coziness and comfort that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being.” Pronounced “hoo-guh,” the word has no direct translation in English, though “cozy” comes close. We think this word perfectly captures what we strive for. The Nest provides a cozy retreat for a couple or solo traveler. It can also accommodate a third adult/child on a sofa bed (1 x set up fee of $25).
Sunnyland voted BEST neighborhood in Bellingham by the Cascadia Weekly. Our neighborhood, while not fancy, is funky, artsy, and low-key! That is why we love it. A few things that put us on the "best" neighborhood list are: Trader Joe's (groceries), Kulshan Brewery (best IPA), The Home Skillet (voted best breakfast), & the Sunnyland Stomp (Neighborhood Art Walk in July).
  • Nomad's Nest is a great place to stay in Bellingham! The neighborhood was quiet, with easy access to downtown and Fairhaven. We appreciated all of the little details from Keri & Ant that made the stay completely comfortable!

    Jaime2014-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • My sweetie and I stayed at the Nomad's Nest for two nights for a quiet getaway. It was exactly as described... quite, clean, comfortable, well-decorated, cozy and welcoming. Keri and Ant were incredibly friendly and prompt in our messaging interactions before the stay. They let us know they would be off the property the first half of our stay, but gave us their caretaker's contact info in case we had any problems or questions (she zoomed across town to let us in when the lock box was frozen from below-average temps). When they returned, they knocked on the door to check in and make sure we were comfortable. The hot tub was my favorite part. It was absolutely perfect at night and after our day hike up to Oyster Dome. The temps were below freezing our whole stay, and the hot tub was awesome. The Nest also stayed warm and cozy, temps controlled by a thermostat in the room. Also, the natural morning light comes in very nicely through the windows and skylights. All the details were quaint and well thought-out! I would definitely recommend this to any friends or family looking for a sweet little getaway in a quiet neighborhood in a quaint town :)

    Laura2014-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Nomads Nest was perfect! The space is so cozy and decorated beautifully. A plethora of products and travel materials were provided-- the hospitality was truly above and beyond. Ant was so kind to provide us with thoughtful recommendations for our time in the area. Everything about this place was beyond comfortable and we are so thankful that it was part of our experience!

    Chloe2016-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • A well thought out space in a cute little neighbourhood. Couldn't have asked for a better getaway. Paul and I were able to spend our time relaxing in the Nest but we also went into Fairhaven as it's only a few minutes to drive. Great location, quiet setting and wonderful hosts. We will be back. We loved it!

    Sasha2014-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend recently stayed in the Nomad's nest for my birthday! The location was convenient within walking distance from downtown. The nest itself was perfect, super cute & bright - the decor was well thought out and we loved reading about where different pieces had come from. We didn't get to meet Keri and Ant but they were very easy to communicate with and sent detailed instructions on what to do upon our arrival. There wasn't anything we would have changed about our visit - only that we wished we could have stayed longer! I would strongly recommend this as a perfect Bellingham get away - we look forward to staying here again soon!

    Mary2016-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, inspired and makes you not want to leave the nest.

    Reagan2015-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a cozy, welcoming space! We absolutely loved the decor and feel of the Nomad's Nest. I feel like this is one place where the pictures just can't quite do it justice. Excellent decor choices. It felt highly personalized, not the standard Ikea look that most airbnb hosts commonly go with. Comfortable beds, and amazing attention to the details (extra toiletries available, a well thought out guest book, etc.). Our only regret is we were really only there to sleep as we were so busy with friends and Ski to Sea activities during our brief trip. Absolutely great location. We walked to Trader Joe's for groceries, to Kulshan brewery, and again to breakfast in the morning at Homeskillet (highly recommended). Keri and Ant were so kind and welcoming. Excellent and friendly communication throughout.

    Shiloh2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights at the Nomad's Nest. The space was very comfortable, and Keri and Ant have thought of all the details. Highly recommend the nest!

A lovely, private, light-filled room in our home, with a private entrance, bath, and basic kitchenette. It's in a quiet neighborhood, close to downtown, backing up to green space, and steps away from hiking and biking trails.
Zen Oasis is a large bedroom with a private entrance and bath in the back of our single-story family home which borders Whatcom Falls Park. It is clean, bright, comfortable, and simply furnished with a queen bed, chair, small table and chairs, and dresser drawers. There is a private deck with two chairs for lounging in the fresh outdoors where you can listen to the birds and nearby Whatcom Creek and waterfalls. It is best suited for shorter stays of up to one week. There is no access to the main house and no cooking facilities, but there is a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, electric kettle, and dishes and utensils for take-out or ready-made meals in the room. Tea and coffee are provided. Zen Oasis is a great place for: - solitude, respite and communing with nature - a comfortable, clean and convenient stay for business or travel - proximity to walking and biking trails - a quiet night's sleep after a busy day of exploring. Zen Oasis may not be great for: - children under 5 years old - late-sleepers (there is a skylight in the room which makes for light-filled mornings.)
Whatcom Falls Heights is the perfect urban neighborhood - close to downtown (just a 10 minute drive or 30 minute bike ride), but with the quiet of the woods and park to make you feel you're far away. Enjoy miles of walking trails through Whatcom Falls Park - the jewel of the city - with a park entrance just a short walk down the street. Bring your bike and explore the Railroad Trail system which runs through the park and takes you all the way downtown in one direction (about three miles each way) or over to Lake Whatcom in the other direction (about a mile).
  • Kirsten & Jeff's home backs up to Whatcom Falls Park and is in a quiet, serene and beautiful setting. The guest suite is separate from the main home and is reached though a delightful crushed stone walkway. There is a private deck and two comfy teak chairs. Kirsten & Jeff put together a great guidebook of the area which was so helpful! Tried one of their favorites for breakfast at Old Town Cafe and it was great! Thoughtful details from small fridge, microwave, Brita Pitcher filled ,fresh cookies , organic coffee & teas . Bed was very comfortable and I wish I would have stayed longer!! Kirsten & Jeff are great hosts and gave me privacy but were quick to respond when I needed help. Thank you both for sharing your home with me.

    Deborah2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at ZenOasis. So quiet...and impeccably clean! It's exactly what we were looking for, and we'll stay here again next time we're in Bellingham.

    Marion2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Kirsten gave really thorough directions to get to the Airbnb and the checkin process felt easy and seamless. The place is peaceful, clean, and welcoming. We loved the fact that it was nearby the hustle and bustle of Fairhaven and literally steps from Whatcom Falls Park. Great hosts! Great location! Highly recommend.

    Debby2016-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Kirsten and Jeff's Zen Oasis! Truly felt like a home away from home

    Hannah2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place hit the spot after a long day of hiking and city traffic getting past Seattle. Communication with host was fluent and information thorough. Had no trouble finding the place and settling in. As for the space, it's delightful. The lack of tv was refreshing. I caught myself leaving the screen slide door open to let the fresh air in and also listen to the waterfall that is near by. The skylight had a nice effect at night too. If I'm ever swinging through town again, I would love to stay here again and explore the area. There's a map of the local park and local info booklet for your convenience too!

    Carlos2017-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting, clean and inviting! The bed was amazing! So comfrey! Haven't slept that well in a long time. Then breakfast cookies, coffee and tea in the morning. Even a pitcher of filtered water in the fridge! Wish we were staying another night! Thank you Kristin and Jeff!

    Teresa2016-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • great economical solution for trips to Bellingham

    Vincent2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • The home is in a lovely location and they have decorated the suite with some very nice touches. It was quiet and comfortable. Although we never met, Kirsten was very communicative online. I hope to meet her next time.

Cozy, spacious, artsy upper unit of duplex. Many windows, well appointed w king tempurpedic mattress, clawfoot tub, full kitchen. Just a walk to good coffee, the Food Coop, enticing restaurants- Pepper Sisters, Dragon River, Pickford Film Center, waterfront.
Victorian upper story of duplex on ridge above downtown Bellingham with much character, morning sun porch with swing, upper deck with peek-a-boo view of Bay, city views, back yard cabana...
On a ridge in downtown Bellingham. Mix of residential and commercial. Very walkable. Quiet private yard in the midst of the city.
  • Wow. This place is amazing. If I were going to write a novel, I would want to do it here. Built by Dr. Seuss and decorated by Van Gogh, the suite has an artistic, creative feeling to it. We spent all our time exploring our Airbnb instead of exploring Bellingham. Sitting in the hammock chair on the covered porch, it really does feel like you’re in a bird’s next. The stairs are not for the faint of heart, but it’s worth it when you see all this place has to offer.

    Felicia2018-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is very cute and eclectic. I loved the feel/decor. Be prepared to walk up a flight of stairs, but only 1. There is ample parking and a cute courtyard. Very homey. Lots of little extras.

  • Nicole's place is a spacious, cozy, artsy upper level of a duplex. It was conveniently located downtown and Nicole was an awesome and helpful host.

  • This space was amazing. Super cozy feel and stylish interior design. Lots of amazing details inside and creative collections of items/artwork inside. Bed was very comfortable ad the space was much bigger than the photos make it look. I loved being so close to the amazing community co-op next door. Sorry that I didnt' get to meet Nicole but she was super helpful and great in her communications checking in on me. I truly loved this space and hope to stay again sometime!

    Lauren2018-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole's place is right on the edge of all the happening spots in downtown Bellingham. There are great breweries and restaurants within walking distance and easy parking. Tons of space in the apartment and a wonderfully comfortable bed.

A comfy bedroom, colorful sitting room, and private entrance in our home's daylight basement.
You get the full daylight basement (please note that there are twelve stairs down to your rooms) -- a room with a queen size bed, and a second room with a comfortable reading chair and a small table for working. The furnishings are colorful and the walls feature professional photography, including a large canvas photo of Mt. Baker to gaze at while relaxing in bed. You'll have plenty of space and privacy. You have a private entrance directly from the backyard, or feel free to use the shared front door entrance as well. We provide coffee, tea, and wifi! While you are welcome to park out back in the alleyway and use your own entrance through the backyard, we invite you (and even recommend) to use the front door, as it can be dark and sometimes slick on the back deck. We DO NOT recommend going around the side of the house as it can be quite slippery there. So please feel free to come and go through the front or back as you like. We are a non smoking household but smoking outside is fine. There is a bathroom upstairs with shower and bath. This bathroom is shared with the family. Kitchen with full utensils, microwave and so on. Herbs, spices etc which you are more than welcome to use. We are a friendly trio of husband, wife and teen daughter. Oh, and three cats! We work from home so we are about (upstairs) working during the day. In the evening we are about playing games, cooking dinner, watching a movie, or reading a book and you're welcome to join us. We think this is a lovely and clean home but please be aware that, at this price it IS a vibrant, wabi-sabi, working family home and not a hotel! The backyard just outside of your space is more meadow than manicured for the sake of the birds and other ecological reasons. Sunnyland is a great, quiet residential neighborhood within a 15 minute walk from downtown Bellingham. We have the city's BEST breakfast joint for potatoes, eggs, pork chilli, toast and coffee (Homeskillet is the name) and a fun brew pub (Kulshan Brewing); both are within three blocks of our house as is Trader Joe's. Walk from downtown in 15 minutes, or there's a bus that comes within four blocks. Need a ride to the airport? We can probably get you there in time and in style! $15 extra. Just ask in advance to be sure.

  • Phil was a great host. My girlfriend and I were just stopping by on our way to Vancouver, but it was very enjoyable. It was clean and the host had good recommendations for food and things to see. The space offers good privacy, and we slept well.

    Takuma2016-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • The host are welcoming and go above and beyond to make my stay helpful & relaxing and always feels safe. I enjoyed the touch of flowers lingering in the window and scent of the liliac tree thru it. There is a very peaceful vibe always here. It is worth a return trip.

  • Phil & Family were very welcoming and, though we didn't meet Phil until the next morning, we were able to spend a restful night at the house. The rooms are cozy, the bed is clean and comfortable, and the endless hot water is a blessing during a long travel trip. Their willingness to accommodate our schedule was very helpful, and we would definitely recommend this host to anyone, especially for such a great price!

    Meg2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Eclectic art make these rooms stylish. Phil and Lola are great hosts: friendly and interesting. Sweet touches to the room include your own bathrobe, tea kettle, dining table, and comfy reading chair. Common areas have a sort of homey clutter. Guests share the bathroom and kitchen with the hosts but the guest area is generously sized; perfect for a couple. I definitely recommend this spot.

Our TINY HOUSE is perfect for a unique experience or a creative alternative to a traditional hotel room. The comfortable outdoor space and views gives one the feeling of "glamping" in a country setting yet close to all Bellingham has to offer. Length of stay is limited to two weeks due to the small space. Exceptions possible upon request. Note: Neighbor is constructing new house until Dec. therefore you may hear daytime construction noise.
This TINY HOUSE is small...but oh so cute and functional! We have packed 2 full sized beds, wifi, a fully flushing toilet and a claw foot tub/shower, Smart TV, kitchenette and a table with two chairs all within 120 square feet! The covered porch adds to the space and an in-wall heater allows the cabin to be used year round. The 3 inch, full sized memory foam mattress in the loft is best suited for children who are fully proficient going up and down ladders or small adults 5'5" or smaller. The space is tight and the ladder is steep and can be tricky. Cooking in the cabin is kept to a minimum due to the lack of space and ventilation. Inside the cabin, you have access to a small microwave, refrigerator, toaster oven, coffee pot, and electric hot water pot. Outdoors, there is a fire pit and coal Webber BBQ. I encourage you to bring your own outdoor camp stove and cookware if you desire more cooking options. To help the ventilation indoors, we encourage you to keep the window open, the bathroom door cracked and and the fan in the bathroom on as often as possible. We have hung a clothes line on the porch to help with drying items. If you're traveling with an infant, your portable playpen can fit next to the bed if the table and chairs are moved to the covered porch.
The cabin is tucked back into the trees, but we still need to respect our wonderful neighbors by keeping the noise to a minimum. During the warm months when the windows are open, you might hear a little road noise. Also, we have many wild birds that can make quite a ruckus in the morning. We are located at the end of a Private Lane and in respect of our neighbors, we ask that you drive 5 MPH or less down the driveway.
  • Mike was so welcoming and even offered their home so I could finish some Internet work in because the wireless 'Extender' in the cabin wasn't transmitting! The 'Tiny House' was perfect for my rainy overnight stay: warm and cozy with everything I needed. It would be great in the summer months to make use of the outdoor BBQ area in such a great setting. Thanks, Mike!

    Kate2016-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this tiny house! It's clean comfy and cozy. Mike and Laura are great hosts. I'd book this again.

    Teresa2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Mike and Laura left the lights on and had detailed instructions on how to get to their place as well as getting in. We had a later arrival than planned and these things helped that go smoothly. The place is neat and tidy. It's a great location, close enough to both downtown Lynden and Bellingham. The sound of rain on the roof is really magical. Great place!

  • The tiny cabin was a fun getaway for my son and I. It was just a short drive from the border and the directions made it easy to find. The cabin had everything we could need for the night and was cozy without being cramped. We enjoyed the beautiful yard, had breakfast on the covered porch and comfortable nights sleep. So glad my son picked your tiny abode for our mini-vacay. We will be back and have already recommended you to our friends. Thanks!

  • Koelle was friendly and welcoming. She was very helpful towards finding a great place to eat and she shared a map of the area to help keep me oriented. It was fun to chat and discuss some common interests!

    Steve2016-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle's bungalow was a charming haven in the midst of my busy schedule. Her openness and generosity helped restore my energy. The home and host celebrate beauty and nurture peace.

    Lorie2016-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nice house, wonderful garden with a pleasant deck in back of home. Koelle's dog is a sweetheart, well behaved and in control Some of the dog's Koelle dog-sits for, not so much. Depending on your tolerance for barking dogs that are not all that well behaved, it would be good to check with Koelle if she has other dog's present.

  • It is always a pleasure to stay here. The house is charming. The breakfast is yummy. The bed is comfortable. I will stay here again.

  • A sweet cozy home. I had a really nice night here. Meditative atmosphere. It was the perfect size for me. It's good if you really like dogs if you stay here, & can forgive dogs for being dogs. They were so cute. I felt safe, east street parking, smooth check in, & nice location. Would definitely stay again if I'm back in the area.

    Emily2016-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle was warm and welcoming. My stay was peaceful and relaxing. The room itself is cute and comfortable: the flannel sheets and down comforter made it extra cozy.

  • Koelle was a warm and welcoming host. I enjoyed my stay.

    Claire2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle is very communicative. Both times I've stayed there have been other renters so it kind of has a dorm-ish feel to it as you try to stay out of each other's space. I'll definitely stay again!

This listing is for the Second Bedroom of my home in the Columbia neighborhood, which is less than a mile from downtown Bellingham. Next to beautiful Elizabeth park with many trees and community concerts on Thursday evenings in the summer. From various windows one can see Sehome Hill, Mt Baker, St James church and the Bay. If you have rented the main room, you can share the main bathroom with this room or otherwise you can use the downstairs bathroom that has a shower.
The second bedroom is a large room with a bed for one or maybe two people. For one group, the upper bathroom can be shared with the master bedroom or the 3/4 bathroom downstairs can be used. There are a number of bedrooms off the wood-paneled hallway, and I am staying in one of those. The 'modern' master bedroom is more secluded and has a large and unique bathroom. From it a deck looks out over Elizabeth Park. And from the bedroom a little stairway leads up to the small loft area with views, where you could hang out on the sofa. For a larger family, one of the smaller bedrooms with views of the park can even be made available. The gourmet kitchen is at your disposal with complimentary coffee and tea. There is also a large living and dining room.
  • Stefan's place is a beautiful old home with all modern amenities. We were only in Bellingham for the night for a wedding, but his room was perfect. Check in was super easy, he let us come an hour early so we would have time to get ready, and the room is huge!

    Jessica2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Stefan for being so flexible and for a wonderful stay in your beautiful home!

    Tamara2018-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Stefan was a great host, and the room is great as well! Best bang for your buck, hands down. Very clean, and the house itself if very nice. It is located in a quiet residential area in Bellingham, and Stefan had bikes that he let us use to bike around town.

    James2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully restored heritage home in a great location in Bellingham. Had a very comfy sleep!

    Chip2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Stefan's home is beautiful, comfortable and spotless. The location was great for us. There is a quiet park across the street; a nice pub and terrific coffee spot is a 10 minute walk away. Down the hill from Stefan's neighborhood is a marina, and a walk there offered beautiful views. Stefan had earplugs for guests who are bothered by the noise of the trains that pass through, but we did not need them. Stefan was welcoming and helpful. We would stay in his airbnb again in the future.

    Carla2018-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Stefan’s, whose house is gorgeous, well located and Stefan is a great host! I highly recommend Stefan’s place for a stay in the northern Washington region!

    Charlotte2018-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • This room, and the house, are as beautiful and impeccably clean as advertised. Stefan is an on-site and attentive host. The house is spotless. You should be aware that your bathroom may be downstairs, and shared.

Check the lummi-island web page. In Kundalini yoga, we use specific sequences of postures/movements, breath and mantra (called kriyas) that when done together create a particular beneficial effect in the body. These sets help balance the glandular system and strengthen the nervous system as well as stretch and strengthen muscles and ligaments. Other benefits of a practice can include an improvement in immunity and energy levels; stress reduction; and more balance and clarity for the mind. I have been a student of yoga for 15+ years. Traditions I’ve studied include Hatha, Kundalini, Anusara and Viniyoga. I was first introduced to Kundalini yoga in 2002. Interested in learning more about how this form of yoga worked, I completed the 220 hour Level 1 Kundalini yoga Teacher Training Program at YogaWest in Vancouver, B.C. and received my teaching certification in 2011. I’ve finished one (Mind & Meditation) of five modules towards Level 2 certification. My practice is also influenced by studying w/ teachers from other traditions, mainly Rod Stryker (Hatha) and Tias Little (Lyengar & Hatha). I have a background in biology & ecology and love to share the science behind yoga while not losing touch with its more mystical qualities.
  • Clean, non-smoking, no pets, good wifi, super peaceful. Everything I needed for a quiet getaway/recharge. Lovely, well kept property, wonderful view. I appreciate that the owners care for and steward it well!

  • This is what beach cottage dreams are made of! Stunning location on private beach; cottage itself is charming inside and out. Rooms were spotless and well appointed with all sorts of extra touches. Layout manages to be both cozy and spacious. We would love to return and are thankful to Jennifer for her hospitality!

    Katharine2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer has a lovely home with an outstanding view. You will have what you need during your stay. Communication with Jennifer was great and she makes checking in/out very simple. She will provide you with valuable tips for enjoying your stay on the island. We're looking forward to going again.

    Hayden2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful and magical! Not tons to do on the island, but that is one of the things I loved the most about it!

    Ryan2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to stay in every respect. Comfortable, well appointed with great attention to detail. Majestic views over the sea and in an idyllic, peaceful location. There are steep steps down to a pebbly beach along which you can wander. The cottage would be lovely to stay in whatever the season and we hope to return some time. If you ever dreamt of a cottage you'd like by the sea, this would be the one in your dream.

    Tim2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • If anything the beauty of this cottage was understated. The view was breathtaking and Jennifer has obviously put a lot of thought and love into her cottage. My sister (who was visiting from michigan) and I loved how cozy and intimate it was as well as it's thoughtful and comfortable furnishings. The kitchen had all we needed, the beds, pillows and linens were very comfortable, and the tub overlooking the sea was enjoyed by all including a 10 Wk old baby! The wood stove was perfect and kept the cottage warm and toasty. We went hiking at the Otto Reserve and on the beach both of which were lovely, played chess, and enjoyed many a meal w/a great view. Thank you! I can't wait to come back for some more peaceful days.

    Crystine2015-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • We loved it here! The house was very comfortable and everything we needed was there. Jennifer was very helpful with questions and even alerted us that a windstorm was coming and where emergency supplies were if we lost power (which we did for an hour). The wood stove was perfect ( with plenty of wood!) for the March coolness, and the kitchen was very well equipped. We loved the view, of course, and talking walks on the shore. The house is just a few minute drive from the ferry and easily accessed. Overall we loved it and would definitely come back!

    Carey2016-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • 3 fellow grad students and I holed up here for two nights to get some studying done for finals. I had looked at the listing, but the space is even more beautiful in person - this was more than enough space for all of us, spotlessly clean, perfectly decorated. The panoramic picture windows over the water, and the view of the water from the bathtub are divine. Even in the rain, we couldn't be stopped from a walk on the private beach. The kitchen is exceptionally well-stocked - we ended up returning some grocery items on the way home we had bought thinking we'd need them there. Jennifer has really thought of everything one would need: tea, oil & vinegar, sugar, spices, etc. along with all the pots, pans, casserole dishes, wine glasses and everything else you need to cook gourmet meals! We got caught in a pretty big storm, but the wi-fi stayed intact even when our cell reception went out, and Jennifer kindly kept her phone on in case we needed anything. Other charming details: the binoculars by the window were put to good use, bath salts by the jetted tub, ample supply of firewood, kindling, and fire starters (plus instructions on fire-building for those of us who failed girl scouts), diverse DVD collection, exceptionally comfortable beds... This is easily my new favorite place in Washington - I can't wait to bring my partner back here asap! Cannot recommend highly enough.

  • Very enjoyable stay. Location is great, house has everything needed for a home away from home. Fresh flowers and muffins were a lovely touch. Highly recommend this home.

  • This place was lovely, but one of the beds was small and we happened to be there when it was uncharacteristically hot for WA and some of the windows don't open and there isn't air conditioning. Other than that the hosts are great and very helpul, the house was spotless and Lyden is a great little town!

    Angie2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed here on our latest trip to Lynden. She and I moved our wedding date up as my father’s health is failing and we wanted to ensure that he and my mom could attend our wedding. Steven & Kay were able to accommodate our last minute change in plans. Their home was perfect as a central location for us to take care of all the last minute wedding plans that we needed to make. The house was spotless!! So very clean!! Exactly as the pictures! Just beautiful! It captured the charm of Lynden perfectly! Steven & Kay were such wonderful hosts! They greeted us as we pulled up in front of the house and gave us a quick overview of the property. Did I mention the house was spotless? We loved Steven and Kay’s attention to detail! It made us feel at home! Everything we needed was available for us! Thank-you Steven and Kay for having a cozy home available for us and making us feel at home after the busy days of wedding planning!! If you are in the Lynden area, look no further than this property!! Thank-you again Steven and Kay!!

The "Aloha Suite" is the name we have given our guest room attached to the south end of our garage. It is a separate building near our home and shop buildings. The room's decor is tropical, with, we hope, the spirit of "aloha" present.
When our home was being built, we lived in the "Aloha Suite", a separate space on the south end of our garage. Since we moved into our home, the suite has been a haven for many guests.(URL HIDDEN)In the main room there are: a comfortable queen sized bed, reading chair, small dining table and chairs, bookshelves with reading material of local and travel interest, yoga mat, and TV with DISH satellite channels (and instructions), a Blu-ray player(URL HIDDEN) In the bathroom there is a shower; and towels and robes are provided. The "kitchenette": This nook in the corner of the main room contains a small refrigerator/freezer, glasses and dishes, basic food preparation items, electric tea kettle, "personal" blender, a choice of two coffee makers, a wide slot toaster, and a microwave. It is not a true kitchen equipped for lots of cooking and dish washing. We are happy to provide the use of our oven and to wash your dishes as needed. There is a laundry sink in the garage for washing large items. We have a barbecue grill on the porch that you may use. It is possible to move the furniture to accommodate a sleeping pad for another person or a baby bed. We have space outside for pitching a tent as well. On request, we can provide an iron and ironing board. We also have a selection of movies and board games you are welcome to borrow.
We live in a quiet, wooded rural area on a road with five homes and nice neighbors. We do get fog and deer crossing the roads, so be alert, especially at night. Please look over the detailed instructions to get here, as GPS may not bring you right to our driveway. We are a 15-20 minute drive from downtown Bellingham and several other communites-Ferndale, Lynden, Everson, and Deming. We have cell phone coverage here, but if you don't for some reason, you are welcome to use our land line for calls. (Currently T-Mobile coverage is "iffy.")
  • This was a beautiful welcoming space as an artist I need that. Terry was amazing and gracious. The bed was so comfortable. It was perfect.

  • We stayed in the Aloha suite a few years ago and were happy to have the opportunity to stay there again. The suite is a really sweet little space in a peaceful location and Terry is a great host. We loved the cookies!

  • First time traveler out west...first time using AirBnB...unreal experience. Terry and Kerry made me feel at home and were always willing to help me out. They also respected my privacy and alone time. The suite is pretty much a tiny house with awesome garden views, many windows, and all the necessary amenities. It has a PNW + Hawaii flair to it, which was unique. I can’t appreciate them enough.

    Nick2018-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Easy and convenient to anything and everything from shopping to outdoor activities. Always a cozy place to rest up! Was raining the one day so went to Just fitness in Bellingham for a long sauna and steam session which was amazing. Mount Baker, Whatcom lake and several other place are close by. Good value and more personal than any hotel, I have stayed here twice.

    Candice2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Terry and Kerry’s place has become a refuge that I look forward to visiting each year. They are so warm and friendly and have thought of every creature comfort. This year I especially enjoyed their collection of books from Hawaii that teach about living Aloha. I only wish I could have stayed longer. I would recommend their Aloha suite to anyone seeking a quiet and peaceful stay.

    Stephanie2018-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great place. Terry is a stellar host and her husband, Kerry, was a treat to meet too! Every detail has been covered in this charming little suite in the beautiful countryside of Bellingham. There's so much to discover in the room itself, from what's placed on the shelves and walls to delectable little treats provided and created by Terry herself! The garden was sweet to explore in the morning or afternoon when in need of a softer moment. The blackberries were amazing! Hope I can visit again next time I'm in Bellingham.

Lots of light, open studio walkable to downtown Bellingham. Trader Joe's, several restaurants and 5+ breweries within walking distance. The studio is located on the back of our house, separate entrance, and does share a wall with our home. I live here with my three teenagers. There will likely be some family related noise during the day. Things tend to be fairly quiet between 10 pm and 7 am. Pizza oven and fire pit available for use upon request if available. 2 bikes available for cruising.
Our home is in the Sunnyland neighborhood. Older homes, lots of pedestrian and bicycle activity. Normal neighborhood noises.
  • Great location, nice and quiet. Very clean, bed is very comfortable. Loved the layout of the studio. Gas fireplace was a nice warm touch. Judy was very friendly and great with communication. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Jody's place was lovely. Quiet & quaint & so nice. Close to everything Bellingham has to offer, great location. Easy drive to Seattle, and even easier drives to Deming & Acme (very close). The only thing negative I could say is, shower fast, as the hot water goes quickly while you're in the shower. Gets warm to cold in a short 15minutes, Jody explained it is because of a small water heater, but it was really okay & not bad. There is no TV/cable, but I was great as I never watch TV. There is great wifi which was super. Place is clean, quiet, welcoming & I'd stay here again any day.

  • I was in town from the Ca Bay Area for a few job interviews last weekend and I stayed in Jody's studio. The place was perfect! Clean and cozy, fireplace was a plus. Kitchen was stocked with coffee and breakfast basics. Jody responded quickly to all messages and was able to get me checked in early after a long day of travel. Walk into town was a little longer than I had expected, but still very doable.

    Rosie2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jody's place is super great! The location is fantastic for walking to downtown, parking was easy, and the space was lovely. We want to come back in winter so we can use the cool fireplace!!

    David2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jody was an excellent host! The space was cozy and clean. She was kind and communicative. We had everything we needed. Great bed, and the place was quiet and peaceful. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the studio and the location was great. We were able to walk around Bellingham and check out the vintage shops and enjoy some great beer at the local breweries. Perfect getaway from Seattle. Would recommend :)

    Cara2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Jody’s place was very spacious and homey, which made it perfect for an extended stay. It’s got a nice woody smell to it and I loved coming back to the space every night for a whole month straight! It can get a bit tricky if you want to work from home because the chairs for the island are a bit too high, but you can always work in bed because the bed was just so incredibly comfortable! To nitpick, the hot water in the shower gets cold pretty quickly, so make sure you shower fast! The laundry machine was a bit janky too, but it did most of its job anyway :) Those didn’t get in the way much! In terms of its location, I walked downtown every morning and back, and it usually takes about 15-20 minutes one way, depending on where you’re going. If you’re keen on making a trip up to Vancouver, there are buses that take you straight to Cordata as well! I really enjoyed staying in Bellingham for a month and Jody’s space definitely played a huge role in that. Incredible space and a wonderfully accommodating host. 100% would recommend!

    Jennifer2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • As advertised and easy walking distance to a new brewery/beer garden

    Tony2018-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jody's place is amazing, it is truly a home away from home. I was provided everything I needed and more from a fully-stocked kitchen to an iron and ironing board. There are five windows in the main area that provide natural light. Because of the amazing Summer weather, there was no need to use the lights. There is also a shaded-glass window in the bathroom that lets in plenty of light. The location is in a nice and quiet neighborhood off the beaten path, but just close enough to a Trader Joe's and brewery scene. You will feel the neighborhood vibe with people walking their dogs and biking. You will also have plenty of privacy. I would highly recommend Jody's place to solo and couple travelers and would stay here again myself. You will have a great stay at Jody's place.

A cheerful bedroom with a Queen Tempurpedic bed and private bathroom. Relax on sunny patio in lovely yard or curl up with a book in cozy living room. Excellent location: Walk to downtown, waterfront, restaurants, and parks from this character home.
Welcome to Bellingham, the "city of subdued excitement." Thankfully, my neighborhood is pretty subdued indeed. I hope you enjoy this quiet, safe, block and my handsome home, built in 1900. Cheerful bedroom with cozy living room and big open kitchen. The well-landscaped, private backyard has a nice patio for dining. But if you want to get out and about, this is GREAT location. On the busline to WWU. Only 1 mile to downtown for local shopping, season farmer's market on Saturdays, and plenty of great restaurants. Less than a mile to Bellingham waterfront for superb sunsets and nice walks. Several parks and a few places to eat within walking distance. Or jump in your car and head up the Mt Baker Hwy for some skiing (they boast the most snow of any mountain in N America) or stunning hiking near an active volcano. If you need a big city fix, Vancouver, BC is only an hour away, too!
  • Thank you very much to Jodi for her friendly welcome and for sharing her lovely home.

    Frank2014-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Jodi's sweet bungalow; the guest room and bath were perfect, and she made us welcome in the living room, kitchen, and in her GREAT back yard too. We highly recommend Jodi's home fore a Bellingham visit.

  • The house was just as described; very easy to get yo and quite convenient. Jodi was awesome, completely flexible and accommodating. She was so easy going and pleasant. We enjoyed our stay very much. Thanks so much Jodi!

  • This was a high value accommodation: a comfortable room with private bath in walking distance to everything in Bellingham. It was super clean, and the host thought of everything to make the stay comfortable. There were lots of personal touches and extras that were outstanding. The host also was very responsible about communicating with me around arrival timing.

    Barbara2014-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jodi's place is cute and clean and she is very welcoming. Snacks and coffee in the morning too! Great stay, easy, close to downtown where there is good food and drink.

  • Jodi’s home is conveniently located to downtown but in a nice, quiet location. Loved that she had fruit, snacks, and tea/coffee available. It was great to chat with her! We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

    Christina2018-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jodi’s place was great. It was very easy to check in and relax after a long travel day. It is in a great location to many of the Bellingham hot spots. The backyard was a wonderful place to sit with a cup of tea in the morning. Will definitely stay again.

    Chris2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jodi was very welcoming to her beautiful home, which is close to downtown and a walk away to the marina. The neighborhood was very quiet, leading to a good night's sleep. And it was nice to have a private bathroom. I'd definitely stay there again!

Newly renovated one bedroom apartment in the heart of Old Fairhaven Historic District. Located two minutes walking to downtown amenities. Fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi, and privacy. Located above a quiet law office with private, coded access. On one side is a condo complex and on the other, a home converted into a micro brewery.
This a newly renovated historic building in the center of Old Fairhaven. Originally built in 1909, the building used to be part of the colorful history of Old Fairhaven Prostitution! In it's heyday, it was called "Anne's Palace" and owned by a madam named Anne Bronson. This apartment is small, perfect for two or three people. It starts getting cramped with four adults. Keep that in mind. Please let the host know if you will be needing the sofa bed. As this apartment is next to a micro-brewery, there may be some days and nights with bands that play. There should be no more noise from bands or activities after 9:30-10PM.
This home is in walking distance to urban trails, the Bellingham Amtrak Station, Community Boating Shed (for kayak and paddle board rentals), and all the wonderful Old Fairhaven downtown shops and restaurants, as well as the Farmer's Market. Please scroll all the way down to see the map and locations marked as points of interest. This apartment is located within walking distance to almost everything in Old Fairhaven. There are several listings, restaurants, and places of interest that have been listed; be sure to read about all the great places in Fairhaven and Bellingham! As this is next to a micro-brewery, there may be some days and nights with bands that play. There should be no more noise from bands or activities after 9:30-10PM.
  • Kristi's lovely "nest" is conveniently located to central Fairhaven as described. Kristi was very responsive in arranging our reservation and the directions for entry were well detailed. She provided privacy while ensuring she was readily available if needed. The apartment was immaculate, had a restful decor and was thoughtfully appointed with many details such as snacks, cooking supplies, travel toiletries and coffee! The high quality linens and comfy bed were appreciated. I would stay there again.

    Robert2015-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Kristi was very accommodating and organized. The place was nice and clean and everything was just as she explained. It was so nice to be walking distance from restaurants and a short drive to the promenade. Overall, it was a great spot for a quick getaway!

    Johanna2016-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Kristi's place is in a suburb location in Fairhaven. It was quiet, pleasant, and private, even though Fairhaven is pretty lively. Awesome to walk to restaurants, shops, and the Bayview Trail along the waterfront. You don't need to drive, even for groceries as Haggen is 1 1/2 blocks away! The suite was as described and comfortable and clean as a whistle. Kristi had everything we needed on hand which was great--even 2 built-ins and 1 portable fan which we needed the first day as it was ridiculously hot for Bellingham. Excellent communication and self check-in process. Kristi was quick to respond to texts and made a point of checking in with us to make sure all was well. She was kind enough to go the extra mile and even helped me with storing my bags for a few hours after check out. We had a great stay, I'd stay again, and recommend it to anyone considering a Fairhaven stay! Thanks for a great stay Kristi.

    Linda2018-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a great little place right in the heart of Fairhaven! The apartment is beautifully renovated and is full of details that made us feel comfortable and welcome. Despite nearby construction, our stay was quiet, private and very comfortable. We enjoyed all of the homey touches and really appreciate the effort Kristi has made to offer a truly lovely experience. Thank you!

    Angela2015-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Kristi’s place was awesome! Very well maintained with all the amenities you could need. The location is hard to beat, and Kristi was easy to reach and communicate with. I will be back!

    Kate2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Kristi's place is great. It's warm and inviting and a comfortable place to relax. And everything in Fairhaven is within walking distance. I'd totally tell any friends heading to Bellingham to stay here. And I definitely will if I ever head back up to B'ham again.

Peaceful garden room and private bathroom in Birchwood, a northern neighborhood characterized by large property lots and abundant green space. Ten minutes from downtown, seven minutes from the airport and hospital. Close to Mount Baker Highway, 33 miles from Canadian border. Large landscaped yard and deck with adjacent Jacuzzi hot tub.
My home is located in the center of a vibrant and diverse garden. Half of the house was built in 1930. Your bathroom is located in this older portion. In 2006, the house was shingled with cedar siding. An addition, containing the guest bedroom, was constructed in 2008. I have had the great fortune to travel to many countries and have brought back art and furniture from each. These treasures decorate the shared spaces and I will talk about them to anyone who will listen!
  • We had a quick overnight in Abby's lovely home, came into Bellingham for a concert, wish we could have stayed longer! Her home is filled with artistic and beautiful touches, surprises everywhere! We loved relaxing under the stars in the hot tub after our concert. Abby was so kind as to recommend an incredible place for dinner, Bellingham Cider Co, I'm still drooling over the Chicken and Waffles, one of the best dishes ever! I enjoyed the flight of ciders, really interesting to compare them side by side, great place! We will be back to Bellingham and back to Abby's place!

    Lisa2018-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very pleasant stay at Abby's house. The room was clean and nice. The hot tub was warm and inviting, as was the cozy living room. Abby was very nice and helpful. The coffee in the morning was a welcome pick-me-up.

  • Abby is a wonderful human being, very thoughtful and helpful, she went above and beyond to help me and my boyfriend get moved to Bellingham, we’ll always be grateful for her help and hospitality.

  • Abby was a very kind host. Check in was easy and parking is right at her house. Abby gave us suggestions for our trip into Northern Cascades and things happening in Bellingham. The room and her house were clean and comfortable. We spent time on her patio and in the hot tub. It was a great stay overall!

  • Kathleen and David are fabulous people as well as hosts. They were both very friendly, very inviting, and shared a wealth of information. They were as good as they come. We found the space to be of great value. The floor plan for two people was ideal. The main living space has a kitchen and television with adjacent bathroom and bedroom. The bathroom was good size. Great touches everywhere and spending three nights here was very comfortable and easy. The space is located below their home and is accessible via a ramp on the side -- so it's secluded and private. The location was also stellar as there were 2 grocery stores -- one which is open 24 hours -- within a couple blocks as well as other services and restaurants. You could walk to everything if you needed to, and in our case, it was great launching pad for bike riding as Lynden is basically flat for a ten mile radius. Plus, it has a bus station nearby if you need to throw your bikes on and catch one. We stayed there over the Forth of July and drove 15 miles into Blaine and experienced a wonderful fireworks show. It rivaled many of the ones I have watched over Commencement Bay or Elliot Bay over the years. It was very easy to get in and out of and get a great view of the show. Speaking of which, try the Peach Arch Cafe while in Blaine. We went there 3 times ordering different things and were not disappointed once. If you've read this far, then you'll probably want to know about the areas that don't shine as well. If I am to be critical, the refrigerator/freezer does ping and knock from time to time -- often during odd hours -- and the plumbing in the walls from above is a bit noisy. Fortunately, this is intermittent. Also, because it is a basement dwelling, there's not a lot of natural lightening. In fact you're going to see a lot of cement. If viewing the outdoors is important to you, and/or you think you may be spending most your time indoors, then this might not be for you. But it was perfect for us as we really only spent late evenings and mornings there. Finally, we found the bed to be on the soft side. This may or may not be a problem for you depending on your personal preference. All of these were not deal breakers for us nor deterrents for future stays. The bottom line is Kathleen is indeed a 'Super' host. Both my wife and I loved the space and the layout. The accommodations were brilliant. We enjoyed our visits with her and her husband, and we would stay here again . Check. We will stay here again.

  • OMG. I hate writing reviews because of my own selfish needs!!! lol. This is one of those diamonds in the rough. The place is absolutely amazing! Did not want to leave I felt so comfortable and at home in this place, We rested for days. Had everything we needed so we stayed in rather than go out. David and Kathleen are the epitome of what you would expect a Airbnb host would be like but never quite like up to your expectations. We could not have had a more relaxed good time then we had. Thank you, guys. Awesome experience!!!

  • Laurie met us when we arrived and was very welcoming. The studio is exactly as described and it worked very well for our family of 4. everything was very comfortable. The kitchen was surprisingly well stocked with snacks. we spent the evening on the deck and that was very pleasant. I definitely recommend this place.

  • Great space in a really convenient neighborhood!

    Kathy2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Laurie's studio was just as described. While it is inside her home, above the garage, we saw so little of Laurie and her family in coming and going that it really felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. The king bed was comfortable, the deck was a great place to relax and enjoy the sunshine, and the kitchenette was well stocked. We didn't interact with Laurie a whole lot, but she seemed very nice. Would recommend for anyone looking to experience Bellingham like a resident.

  • Joanna & Paul were great. Good communication, very welcoming, unit is newer, clean and well equipped for our needs. Enjoyed the location and our hike at nearby Stimpson Reserve as recommended by our hosts. Very nice morning tray of scones and jams! Would stay again.

  • Joanna, Paul, and their family are excellent hosts and lovely people. The studio was spotless, beautiful, and had all of the amenities (including extra-comfortable sheets, great artwork, and a stocked library). The house is less than 10 minutes to downtown and a few minutes from the supermarket. Delicious scones in the morning topped off our stay. Highest recommendation!!

    Jill2015-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Studio was a great place to stay. Spacious, clean and quiet. Easy to get to and conveniently located for all the places we wanted to go on this trip. Joanna was prompt with responses and very welcoming. Warm scones and fresh orange in the morning, delicious. I would highly recommend The Studio!

  • Beautiful setting, close to our classroom and downtown. Actually had deer roaming the neighborhood the second morning. Thank you!

    William2016-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Joanna gave us all the information we needed before we showed up and had the place all ready to go when we got there. The coffee, milk, and scones were an unexpected and amazing treat. The room was spacious and had everything we needed for the weekend.

  • With the sudden loss of a family member, I needed a safe and quiet place for my family of 4 to stay while we were all in town for the funeral. We had never stayed in an AB2B but I sensed that we might find a peaceful place that would allow all of us to be together during this difficult period. Joanna and Paul's studio fit the bill perfectly! The photos of their "Light Studio" captured the feel of their special place and we were delighted by our first AB2B experience. We would definitely enjoy staying here again and would recommend their place to others looking to experience Bellingham! Thanks Joanna and Paul!

    Dan2017-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • The place was absolutely amazing! So comfy and clean! Everything went well!!! Love it! Thanks to Joanna and Paul!

    Sophie2016-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Joanna and Paul's space is beyond lovely, peaceful and cozy. It's private yet home-like. We enjoyed every second of our stay during the week my friend visited me from Beijing. Thanks again, Joanna and families. I would definitely come back next time I have friend visit from out of town.

Our newly renovated Basement Studio is awesome for anyone that is looking for a clean, modern space close to downtown Bellingham. In the historic Lettered Streets neighborhood, walk to all the great breweries and restaurants. Although this house was built in the late 1800's... the studio is new, bright, and a perfect getaway. It has it all: King Size bed, a gorgeous walk-in shower, and a mud-room to store outdoor bikes, boards, skis, and kayaks. More photos coming soon!
This space has been 100% renovated! Every aspect is new, fresh, and clean. It is the bottom floor of a 3 story home that was built in 1886! The front door opens directly to the driveway, so there is no need to haul your luggage very far. Full kitchen is provided, with a full size stove, sink, and refrigerator. We also provide a Keurig coffee maker. and moderate cooking supplies. We provide simple amenities to make you feel at home, such as a hair dryer, iron, and desk space. We also love to give people a feel for the historic charm of our old Bellingham neighborhood, so we have incorporated historic black and white photos from the Whatcom Museum. We also love the vintage inspired record player to add some ambience to the space and hope guests enjoy a record or two while they are here.
  • We loved our stay at Lindsy and Eli's studio! It was clean, so comfortable, and close to downtown. The house plants and flowers made it feel particularly homey and we had a wonderful time.

    Naomi2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsy and Eli's place was fantastic! It was spacious and clean. The vintage character was super cool and the bed was exceptionally comfy. Perfect for if youre exploring the area or just wanting to relax in the lounge area! Tonnes of great, cafes, restraunts and bars around within a decent walking distance and brilliant coffee just around the corner. Would recommend staying here if youre heading to Bellingham, we absolutely loved it.

    Rachel2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a super lovely place to stay! Super comfy bed and lounging area. Great kitchen. Walkable into town. Loved it.

  • Great place in a wonderful town. Will definitely stay again when I come back.

    Alan2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and comfortable apartment perfect for exploring Bellingham! The place was cosy and had everything I needed. The hosts were wonderful and check in and out was a breeze! Neighborhood was right around the corner from shops and easily navigable by foot. Definetly would stay again. Thanks!

    Elizabeth2018-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • SUCH a great place to stay! Hosts are wonderful, location is great (we walked EVERYWHERE), bed is suuuuuper comfy, and everything is very well appointed. I would suggest that you bring slippers for your feet if you're staying during colder months because the floors are a little chilly, but the studio itself is plenty cozy.

    Michele2018-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • cozy space with nice local touches. very close to downtown shops, bars, restaurants. friendly hosts. thank you!

    Diana2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is our 4th airbnb in Bellingham (we go about once a year) and is by far the best. We envy Lindsy's sense of style (check out the photos) and the suite was spacious, clean, and well-located. Check-in and check-out were effortless, and Lindsy went the extra mile to provide useful information about Bellingham (we learned a few things although we have visited Bellingham in the past). We will be staying in Lindsy and Eli's place on our next visit.

Gorgeous modern studio in a forested setting, this is a unique space with thoughtful design. Seashore and mountain trails are right outside the door, & the Studio is a ten minute drive from Bellingham. Our special place has offered a base for adventure, rejuvenation and re-connection and provided "Il Dolce Far Niente" - The Sweetness of Doing Nothing. Meeting accurate expectations is important to us, so please read our entire listing description before you send a booking request. Thank you!
Note: Meeting accurate expectations is very important to us, so please read our entire listing description before you send a booking request. Thank you! The Seaside Forest Studio shares the property with our home, and began as an artist's studio, every aspect custom designed. From the loft bed surrounded by windows, to the fully equipped kitchen, slate-tiled shower and red brick floors, everything was added with careful thought. This is a unique space! The Studio is 512 square feet with an added 60 feet in the sleeping area above. There is a queen-sized bed in a hanging loft, best for those comfortable climbing a ladder up and down, to sleep surrounded by windows and trees on all sides. There is also a Euro-lounger/sofa in the main room that folds into a comfortable full size bed, with a memory foam topper. The main room has a window seat, as well as a custom reading nook with games for all ages stored below. Peter's handmade beautiful, live-edge cedar table seats four (five, if you'd like). The kitchen is fully equipped with sink, stove, oven, refrigerator, and cooking implements. The bath has a full shower, beautifully tiled. The studio has both electric heat and a wood stove. There are two entryways, with a curved wood deck at the front entrance (and a large granite boulder to sit on as well). Parking is just outside the back door. We care about beauty, connection, real things, and the Studio reflects that; much of its features were made by us or locally sourced. You'll eat at Peter's table, hang your coat on a fir tree we found in our woods, use Aimee's homemade soap in the shower, see our art on the walls, sleep in a loft built by a dear friend, and enjoy a fire with wood from our property. A short walk down the driveway or steep beach trail offers views of both Chuckanut and Pleasant Bays (we live on a point, so there is water on both sides). Just up a winding brick path, you'll find the hot tub (older design, very simple) behind our house, on a deck under tall fir trees with peekaboo views of the water. Our property is a haven for wildlife: the studio is surrounded by a forest that's home to many kinds of birds, including raptors, owls, and songbirds. Raccoons and deer wander through, and we're close to the seashore where seals swim, herons squawk, and crabs scuttle under eelgrass forests. The Studio shares the forest with our home, so we're available for questions and concerns. Our house is situated on a knoll overlooking the water, while the studio is in the forest just below. The two structures are separated by a driveway and woods, out of sight of each other. We do share a common driveway, our cars blocked from the Studio's view by a neatly stacked woodpile. The Studio has many windows (with blinds), and we do drive and/or walk past the Studio when coming & going, . The Seaside Forest Studio is ideal for nature lovers, outdoor adventurers, and those who want unique accommodation in a beautiful natural setting.
With Chuckanut Mountain behind us and the Salish Sea in front, hikers, bikers, and kayakers will find easy access to all three activities from the studio. The Interurban Trail is just up the road. Heading south on the Interurban you'll reach the trails, lakes and seashore of 2683-acre Larrabee State Park in five minutes; walking north, you can stroll or bike five miles to town if you'd like, all on this forested trail overlooking the sea. Paddling west in a kayak you'll reach Chuckanut Island in 20 minutes. Our family have been the caretakers of this special place, owned by the Nature Conservancy, for years. The world renowned beauty of Chuckanut Drive is moments away – enjoy it by bicycle or car. Fairhaven is 10 minutes and downtown Bellingham is 20 minutes by car. If you'd like, you can touch a glacier and explore an island in the same day!
  • Great spot! Great location! Great hosts! Loved the loud trains! Wish I could have recorded it. Thank you!

    Mélanie2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was beautiful and unique and the closeness to Larrabee State Park meant easy adventures! We had our kiddo with us and that went fine. Loved watching 4th of July fireworks through the trees from the loft bed.

    Elyssa2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place, loved it!!! The studio is a perfect getaway and so secluded, it was beautifully decorated, comfortable and had absolutely everything we needed and then some for our two week stay. We loved the peaceful surroundings and the area as a whole. Access to the beach and sunsets was unforgettable. We were fortunate enough to get to meet both of our hosts, they extremely kind, fun and a wealth of knowledge about the area. We would definitely stay again and refer anyone to do so. Thank you Peter and Aimee for such a great stay and awesome memories!!

    Calley2014-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Aimee and Peter are such warm hosts! They looked after me like family - I adore them! Highly recommend their property, especially the studio!

    Michael2016-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Aimee and Peter made contact with us about 1 week before we arrived. Because we were a party of four arriving at different times, we kept in contact through text messages. The first person to arrive knew exactly where to go and what to do. This made it easier for everyone else. The welcome was gracious and Aimee was available to answer any questions we had. The place was furnished with just what we needed. It was as stated in the webpage. We wanted to be in a secluded placed and we were aware in advance about the train. We planned ahead and brought what we needed to fit our needs.

    Dorothee2015-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • GORGEOUS space, even nicer than pictured - amazing amenities. We could not sleep with the loud train noise all night, but everything else was great.

    Erin & Nat2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Aimee stopped by within the first hour and showed us all the ins and outs. We were coming primarily to rest and unwind and our hosts respected that wonderfully.

    Martha2016-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful studio, quiet and peaceful, tasteful modern design. The studio was impeccably clean, which was important to us. The steps to the loft were challenging to climb especially late at night, but as an alternative, the sofa bed in the living room was comfortable and easy to make into a bed. My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much. This was our first Airbnb experience, and we were impressed.

Our home is a great place to experience Bellingham from! Our neighborhood is friendly and centrally located. Walking distance from breweries, bus line, and grocery store.
My husband and I live in the main house, and your space is a mother-in-law suite that shares one wall with our house. It has a private entrance and parking spot, as well as a little outdoor sitting area. It is a perfect spot for one person or a couple visiting B'ham.
Our neighborhood is right on the edge of the line between residential and commercial. We are only one street off of Meridian, where you can find breweries and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. We are a 30 second walk from a grocery store and the bus line, and only a 5 minute drive to downtown Bellingham.
  • The suite is a delight - private and peaceful with everything you need. Cayley was a great host, proactive for details of checking in and quick to respond. I'll be back!

    Linda2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Carley’s place is perfect for one or two people to have a home base for a weekend or longer in Bellingham.

    Morgan2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • We were very happy with this space! Clean, great value, comfortable stay, and everything we could have needed! However, a small sofa or love seat in the living room would have been greatly appreciated as there is no real space to lounge if you don’t want to lay down in the bed. Other than that it was great! Would definitely recommend. Thank you!

  • The Pumpkin Suite is a perfect example of what an AirBnb should be. This little cozy apartment was everything my partner and I were looking for. Stylish, clean, spacious and very close to the city and a market is literally next door. Don’t skip this one!

    Carlos2018-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome little apartment, great location and perfect size for two guests. Check-in and out was easy and convenient and hosts were good communicators. Highly recommended!

  • Cayley's was a great home base for our stay in Bellingham. We had it for 2 days, wished we could have had it for our whole trip. It was just enough space for me and my partner, loved having the bedroom/bath and rest of the place on two separate floors. Haggens, the grocery store is literally across the street and the kitchen had a good amount of utensils to make a variety of meals, no spices other than salt and pepper though so be prepared. Awesome value for all the comforts and benefits we got out of it. Bonus is the adorable front patio area where you may catch a neighborhood cat if you're lucky.

    Kanica2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • I visited Bellingham for an evening and really enjoyed this cute little place. I appreciated the organic soaps and tea and coffee that were provided. I booked last minute and Caley responded to me fast and everything was ready to go when I arrived. Easy getting in and out, and good directions were provided. Thanks!

  • My regular accommodations fell through at the last minute and I turned to Air BnB for help. Deborah replied quickly and was very helpful with my scheduling needs by allowing me to come to her place earlier than the check in time. Her property is tranquil. When I walked into the space, it was clear that Deborah had put a great deal of time and effort into making it feel welcoming. I only wish I could stay longer. Very relaxing place to be! Thank you Deborah.

  • This is our very first Airbnb stay, and Deborah has made it a great experience for us. Her ground floor apartment is very spacious, clean and nice, and she prodvided us with all kinds of breastfast items so we could really enjoy a chill Sunday morning after a late night out in Bellingham watching the fireworks. We really loved everything Deborah offered and the quiet surroundings of her house. We enjoyed meeting Deborah and our stay very much and so did our little pooch! We'll definitely be back next time we stay in Bellingham!

    Carol2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Deborah's was an easy, comfortable, quiet, and relaxing experience. Deborah made sure everything I needed was available, and when I accidentally left my scarf upon leaving, she emailed me within minutes to let me know and I retrieved it easily. I give the apartemnt, location, convenience, and hosting five out of five stars. I only wish I could have met Deborah, but our schedules didn't match up. Highly reommended.

  • Tall Cedars was the perfect place for our stay. Deborah was available but not intrusive to our needs and the goodies left for our breakfast was welcomed. We will probably need to make some more trips to Bellingham to conclude our business and we look forward to future stays.

A unique house in downtown Historic Fairhaven which has been converted into a working micro-brewery. A block away from local amenities, including boutique shops & great restaurants. You can easily hop on to the inter-urban trail which links parks, fantastic hiking, biking & downtown Bellingham. Fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi & a tasty, craft ale is only a step away.
Our cozy home is also home to a small micro-brewery which is housed in shipping containers in the back yard. Guests are welcome to use the backyard which has a fire pit, or the patio upstairs which gets lots of sun to eat their meals. The detached garage has been converted into our taproom, so a tasty ale, created on site is never far away. The bedroom is in the back of the house. It is surprisingly quiet, so you won't be disturbed by patrons of the brewery. In fact, there is the constant gurgling sound of a running stream, which is actually our glycol system that is used to cool our beer and walk-in cooler. The kitchen is fully equipment, including a gas range so you can cook to your hearts delight. There is coffee and tea readily available too. The window above the kitchen sink looks out on to the front beer garden of the brewery. You can always create some privacy by closing the blinds. The dated bathroom has a shower tub, which is stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, soaps, toothpaste, first aid kit and most importantly with a tub....soothing bubble bath! The lounge/living area is our biggest space. It receives a lot of light and looks out on to the front street, and a window faces the front beer garden. Again, there are blinds, curtains and sheer curtains to create more privacy for yourself, if you so desire. You can hear the murmur of conversations in the front beer garden. The comfy couch in the living room opens up into sleeper bed. Stairs go upstairs to our office space. There is a door that creates privacy for you downstairs; however, the house is a little squeaky, so you will hear foot steps upstairs as we access the space during office hours and occasionally in the evening to access our merchandise stock for the brewery. We only access the office space through the brewery, and never via your space downstairs.
Our micro-brewery home is located one block from downtown Historic Fairhaven. There are beautiful boutique shops just a stroll around the corner, and great restaurants with some excellent happy hours & food. Obviously, we think Stones Throw Brewery is the best place for a beer, but if you want wine or cocktails we love visiting the Black Cat. Access to the Inter-Urban Trail is across the road. You can bike south towards Fairhaven Park (5min), Arroyo Park (15-20min), Larrabee State Park (45min) or you can bike/walk north into downtown Bellingham which takes you out over the water along the Taylor Dock Board Walk and past Woods Coffee. Talk to us if you are interested in using a bike - we have one available for you. In the summer time the Community Boating Center is open and you can easily rent a paddle board/paddle boat for some fun sightseeing on Bellingham Bay. A block and a half away you will find our local grocery store, Haggens. Very convenient.
  • This little cozy home has it all! From the best cider I have ever tasted (you MUST check out their brewery), the incredible location close to food, shops, walks and hikes, to the cozy fireplace, this was a Christmas stay that I will never forget! Thank you for your kind hospitality.

  • Nadine's place is located in a really great location. Lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance and it's just a "stones throw" from downtown Bellingham. We loved the uniqueness of being right next to a brewery where we could go out and enjoy the beer garden or stay in and the noise was never a bothersome. Nadine and her husband are incredible nice and hospitable and have a really great space for a weekend getaway! Will definitely be back.

  • What a wonderful experience! A great place to stay, great beer, and great hosts! I stayed here in order to take advantage of the many local coffee shops and cafes where I could get a bit of an escape from the busyness of home and work while doing some writing. The house provided a great "home base" for me during my visit to Fairhaven, and it was wonderful to have such close proximity to the many shops, restaurants, and cafes.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Nadine's place. Being right next to Stone's Throw Brewing was a huge bonus for us. (And the murmur from the brewery patio was not too loud at all.) The space itself is very nice and comfortable. It seems to have been done very thoughtfully. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Checkin and checkout was very simple as well. Altogether, we had a lovely stay. I've already recommended to my friends and family visiting Bellingham to stay with Nadine.

  • We had an excellent stay! Nadine was very communicative and the place is really cute and very convenient for exploring Fairhaven. We would happily come back, drink more beer, and explore more of Bellingham.

Jeff and Dina made us feel very welcome! Everything was exactly as they had described. They have a beautiful home in a beautiful country setting. It was much closer to all of the towns in Skagit Valley than we originally thought. Excellent location! We would definitely stay here again!
