Beautiful, inspiring and peaceful.
A peaceful retreat awaits you in the trees just outside of West Asheville's "locals" downtown! Walkable to Haywood Rd and all our excellent neighborhood restaurants, art and yoga studios, farmers market and pubs. Or you can borrow a bike from us and zip into town. Note: Our house is in a dense suburban residential neighborhood and not outside of town. We have neighbors on all sides but we are lucky that our house is in an urban forest that affords privacy. This is a quiet place to write and rest or just commune with the big oaks around your private deck. The studio apartment is below the main house which has its own entrance and outdoor space. Our family lives above and we are very respectful of your privacy. The studio is SMALL one room space (12x15) but well equipped with a hot plate, under counter fridge, small table and 2 chairs and a queen size bed. You have your own small bathroom with 3x3 shower and toilet. Bathroom sink is in kitchenette. A laundry room is right next door and is also available. If you are looking for an unique space that is peaceful and quiet but part of a vibrant creative community you will enjoy staying with us and we will enjoy hosting you!
West Asheville is the best! Quiet and neighborly, it's not like downtown Asheville with hotels and so many tourists but you can get there or the parkway or the Biltmore very quickly by car. Downtown, five minutes, everywhere else, ten minutes. We have our own downtown in West Asheville and there's many excellent restaurants and music venues within walking or biking distance.
  • Amazing Treehouse in Historic West Asheville. 5 Stars!!!

  • Jakub & Maria were great hosts. We arrived rather late (about midnight) and were greeted as if it were after noon.

    Douglas2016-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was alright. The best part about this place is the location! Super close to everything and yet secluded. The room, being on a lower level and not having much for ventilation, smelled very damp. It wasn't so bad if you kept shower fan on as well as had doors open with the other fan going. When we arrived, there was a large wad of hair (looked like it was pulled out of the brush) on the floor. Not the most welcoming. Also note that the upstairs (main part of house) is rentable too. Our last night had people there and they had a dog that barked a lot and noisy kids outside our windows playing early in the morning. There was one review talking about bugs everywhere. We did see a couple spiders and ants. But it was sort of a given due to being in the woods. There were ant traps in a few places so perhaps it was more under control by the time we arrived. To conclude, our expectations were a little letdown. However, it wasn't a bad stay. It would have been a little better with a little more cleanliness.

  • We didn't have the opportunity to meet Jakub and Maria but the room was as described and very clean. We certainly appreciated the oatmeal, tea, and coffee during our stay. Thank you again for having us in your home!

    Clara2015-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Very communicative and welcoming. We loved feeling like we were in a tree house.

    Jeanne2016-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Super kind folks, wonderful comfy little spot. Perfect for a quiet Asheville stay!

    Colton2017-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very unique and peaceful. It was like being in the woods while being minutes from town.

    Jen2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jakub and Maria’s place was just perfect for a relaxing couples weekend trip. The entire space was spotless and thoughtfully decorated, and the outside patio offered a beautiful view. We ran into Jakub once who was very friendly and accommodating, and we also greatly enjoyed the company of the family cat. This place is absolutely serene and I would love to stay again!

Located along the Swannonoa River only 12 minutes from downtown Asheville, this quaint space is a perfect getaway for a romantic weekend or a personal retreat. Jacuzzi tub for two, private wooded porches w/hammock, and swing make this a sweet mountain getaway.
Relax on the hammock and enjoy the sounds of the river on the porch swing. The comfortable, private porch is the perfect place for reading, relaxing, and enjoying an afternoon beverage. Enjoy a Jacuzzi tub for two and wind down. The studio is accessed through a private entrance with private parking and features a queen size bed and a queen size sleeper sofa, flat screen tv with Netflix and Hulu streaming services, DVD player, fridge, coffee maker, tea kettle, and microwave. Coffee, tea, and chilled water are provided. Studio is stocked with care. Books, games, and art supplies for a creative and relaxing vacation. The property is located in a house perched in the trees--ideal bird watching and spotting wild turkeys, river otters, blue herons, beavers, ducks, and the occasional black bear. The river is only accessible via a short walk across the street and down the riverbank. Please note that while actual treehouses are amazing, this is a "treehouse," meaning a studio within a house in the trees! We just want to be clear.
This east Asheville neighborhood is a gorgeously wooded, private refuge with easy access to Asheville's best spots. 12 minutes to Downtown Asheville 3 minutes to Blue Ridge Parkway 5 minutes to Warren Wilson College 15 minutes to Bilmore Estate Creekside Tavern, Filo Bakery, MoJo Coffee Truck, Pomodoro's, and the world's best taco truck are only minutes away on Asheville's eastside. Our neighborhood is a quiet, residential locale. Our priority is to respect our neighbors. You'll often find kids and pups navigating our winding neighborhood roads. It is essential that all guests drive slowly and carefully!
  • We had a wonderful stay! So relaxing to have the jacuzzi after a long drive. Beautiful scenery to wake up to and take a walk.

    Abbie2015-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Heather's studio is great! We loved the river view from the porch swing, relaxing jacuzzi tub, great decor, and TV equipped with Netflix. Heather was sweet and gave us lots of information about the Asheville area and even a little vanilla-flavored salt.

    Ben2015-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse was the perfect place for our weekend getaway. It is secluded enough that we were able to relax in the quiet in the mornings, but also have easy access to downtown Asheville, which is only about a 15 minute Uber ride away. The coffee and snacks were a nice touch, too! I would highly recommend this as a romantic getaway for folks looking for a bit of everything in Asheville!

    Dorothy2017-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place was wonderful. It was comfortable and very clean, and it was only a 15 minute drive to the downtown area. Heather was very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend it!

    Kyle2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Heather's place is amazing! The listing was exactly as described. She even decorated for my birthday - it was so thoughtful of her! We enjoyed our coffee on the porch swing and loved the jacuzzi tub. It was a wonderful weekend in this private and secluded home away from home! We highly recommend Heather's place.

    Carly2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved Heather's place. Heather did a superb job at making my boyfriend and I feel welcome and comfortable. The studio is a short drive to downtown, which means you're close to shopping, restaurants, and fun nightlife. It is also close to more scenic areas if you prefer hiking and the outdoors. We loved the studio and Heather was an awesome host! We will definitely stay here again!

    Regina2016-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Heather was a very friendly and helpful host. The location is lovely, in a quiet, residential area with beautiful natural surroundings. I felt very safe there, and the place was very clean and well-appointed. I'd definitely return!

The best of both worlds! Quiet, secluded country cottage only six minutes from downtown Asheville. Sip your morning coffee on a private brick patio surrounded by large trees and singing birds. Enjoy easy access to West Asheville's restaurant scene. If you'd rather have your own private porch and deck with great views of the surrounding trees, check out our upstairs unit. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1950593 Please read the HOUSE RULES before booking. Most importantly, we only have parking for ONE CAR per unit, and only allow two people maximum per unit, no exceptions! (If you have an extra car you'll have to leave it in a parking garage downtown.) This private apartment is the ground floor of our our cozy gated home at the end of one lane gravel road. We live in the little house in the backyard. In front of our house is the Crown Plaza golf course and mountain bike trail. The apartment is fully furnished, including a fully equipped kitchen with a full fridge, microwave, four-burner stove & oven, a coffee maker, a toaster and a blender (perfect for breakfast smoothies!) It includes Wireless Internet, off street parking for one car, complimentary coffee and tea. All linens and towels provided. We also provide shower gel, shampoo and hair conditioner so you don't have to pack these bulky items! Electric heating with two separate thermostats keeps the apartment at an optimum comfortable temperature. A window air conditioner unit is provided in the summer months. The bathroom has a custom-tiled double shower with glass doors, underfloor heating (great for keeping your toes warm!) and plenty of storage for your toiletries. The apartment is not suitable for children as it is not childproofed. The bed is a queen size. We are surrounded by trees and wild spaces, which makes it perfect for the wildlife that live here. We have raccoons, opossums, red foxes, woodchucks, chipmunks, squirrels and the occasional coyote. Our bird-friendly yard is home to over 20 different species of birds including a resident pair of red-shouldered hawks and a screech owl family. Our house is only 45 minutes away from the Cataloochee valley in the Smoky Mountains National Park. The valley is known for its elk and black bear population. The east side of the Smokies is great as it is less touristy than further west. It is a great place for a day trip! Enjoy the benefits of living close to Downtown and recharge your batteries in our tranquil home.
  • I don't know why anyone visiting the Asheville area would stay anywhere else. This place is clean, cozy, comfortable, secluded, and quiet. It's a very short drive to get to downtown Asheville and a couple minutes to Haywood Road where some of the best food (The Admiral) and coffee (Battle Cat) can be found - anywhere. Hal and Cristina are the most gracious, kind hosts and make an obvious effort to offer an above-average accommodation to their guests. The flat is situated in the basement level of the home, with private access and plenty of natural light and windows on all sides. With the hosts nearby on the 1st floor, they are available when you need them but never in your way. The space is more than enough room for any amount of time one would stay in the area with a bathroom, bedroom, living space and kitchenette. There is also a small nook with a desk to set-up a laptop. The piece de resistance, though, is the washer/dryer combo. Such a great amenity when traveling! There is no television, but why would anyone need one in this peaceful, relaxing environment. If you really need to stay connected, streaming movies via the included wi-fi is always an option.

    Jill2014-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was more than anyone could have asked. I stayed twice in Asheville, once with Christina and Hal and once at Biltmore. Biltmore has nothing on The Nature Lover's Retreat. It would take days to list all the ways that Christina and Hal went above in beyond the call of host. The stay felt as though I was both a guest and that I was a welcomed friend.

    Ethan2014-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place. I really enjoyed staying there

    Judy2015-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about the space lived up to our expectations. It felt quiet, secluded and comfortable, while still being close to everything we wanted to do. Cristina and Hal were friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the area.

    John2014-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was my very first AirBnB experience and I couldn't have asked for a better one. Cristina and Hal were gracious hosts--they made sure that I was fully aware of the surrounding areas and everything about my stay. The lodgings were beautiful and exactly what I was looking for. I really loved how tucked away their residence was. I would stay here again, hands down.

    Raymond2015-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Cristina and Hal were excellent hosts. They were quick to respond, gave great restaurant recommendations, and were very thoughtful when it came to making sure we had a pleasant stay. The apartment was really nice -- clean, well equipped, and very convenient to downtown. We would definitely stay here again!

    Evan2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great! Just minutes to downtown and even closer to great restaurants. The apartment was very well done, clean and orderly. Complimentary coffee was an awesome perk, and the bathroom even had heated floors! Wifi is included and fast. My wife and I stayed here and it was very quiet and secluded down a cute gravel road. Couldn't have asked for a better location, house, or host! Thanks again!

    Patrick2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • On a last minute whim I decided to see what was available on airbnb for a business trip. Found this great space and Cristina quickly confirmed my stay. It was perfect! Everything is pristine and beautiful including Hal and Cristina's photographs. Loved it.

Come escape to our tiny modern off grid cabin situated in the middle of our private 125 acre gated mountain top property backing up to Pisgah National Forest. Enjoy soaring views, proximity to hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and sleep in a comfy bed...just 25 minutes to downtown Asheville! All dogs are welcome!
Wake up to a breath taking mountain view amidst the trees! Hike our nearby trail along the creek or drive 4 miles to the top of mount pisgah and hike along the blue ridge parkway! You can be in downtown Asheville in 25 minutes to enjoy all the amazing food, breweries, and art galleries. The cabin has a comfortable queen size bed, a propane 2 burner cook stove, solar generator to plug in cell phones and lap top (if there is sun!), Verizon cell phone service available, a water cooler for drinking and washing, propane heater if its cold, and a very clean outhouse. There is an outdoor shower fed by our rainwater collection system that is open seasonally April-October. As a back up shower, we have a solar shower (5 gallon shower bag) you can use year around as needed...but it would still be an outdoor shower which could be cold. Attached to the cabin is a very clean porta potty with mountain views that is emptied weekly. We have an outdoor fire pit for making s'mores and cooking- bring your own firewood or buy some from my neighbor. The glass garage door on the front of the cabin opens to beautiful mountain views (it has a roll down bug screen). The cabin is heated by a propane heater during the winter. You will need to bring your own cooler with ice in it (there is no fridge) and your own towels for bathing. Linens will be provided. Basic cook ware, tea pot and coffee press are provided. We leave a couple 5 gallon jugs of water for you to drink and wash dishes in. There are 2 chairs and a fold out table. We provide some board games and books. We love dogs and know how hard it is to find a place that allows them to come on vacation with you! Potty trained, well behaved dogs of any size are welcome! Bring their crates and beds. They will need to be left in a crate if left indoors without you there. Can't find the dates you want? We just finished a new cabin! Click here to see our other off grid property. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/21102715?s=51
The proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway and all the hiking trails nearby make this neighborhood special!
  • Exactly as described! The outdoor shower was amazing, as were the views and cleanliness of the cabin. Would definitely book again.

  • Haley's cabin is beyond anything my boyfriend and I could ever imagine. Every single detail was thoroughly enjoyed, and I instantly want to rebook this little piece of heaven again! Haley, thank you for sharing a small piece of your world to all of us!

    Olivia2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and secluded cabin in a very convenient location. Painless drive to downtown Asheville and all that the Blue Ridge mountains has to offer!

    Francis2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at this little eco cabin was absolutely magical. My husband and I were thrilled as soon as we arrived and are already hoping to plan our next visit here for next year. Thank you for providing a space to truly relax and escape.

    Christina2017-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying in this cute little house! Hopefully can figure out a date to come back in the summer so we can enjoy the fun garage door. Haley was super helpful and gave great directions to the house.

    Alex2018-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great secluded cabin! The views were amazing (especially with the garage door open) and it was a close enough drive to Asheville and other fun stuff in the area. Would recommend!

    Julie2018-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely. Everything about this cabin was warm, inviting, and intentional. The view cannot be beat, nor the beauty of being removed from neighborhoods and feeling so remote! We did get both Verizon and AT&T service great too! The shower was hot and incredible after camping the precious days, and the interior felt like home. Highly recommended! Our dog had a blast as well. It is a little more on a road than we expected, but being on a ridge with views all around, it's no big deal. And the road is completely private, so it was totally comfortable and private still too! Thanks for a great stay! Highly highly recommended. We can't wait to come back!

    Abby2017-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is wonderfully high up in the mountain and secluded enough for the perfect off the grid getaway. The view was insanely gorgeous. We went just recently when the trees didn’t have leaves but it ended up snowing (first time seeing it) and it was a spectacular view. Can’t wait to go back during a warmer season to be able to hike a bit more and build a fire in their firepit. Haley and her husband were wonderful with their hospitality and gave wonderful recommendations for things to do in Asheville, while also having a pristine cabin waiting for us when we arrived. We can wait to come spend another 4 days up there!!

SparkleBark Farm offers our open air guest cabin to those who want the comfort of a bed while enjoying the same breezes, wild flowers, fireflies, and early morning mist that you'd have while camping. Just a 15 minute drive away from downtown Asheville, NC.
Sparklebark Farm is a small-scale organic farm and homestead. For the past four years Zac and Bea, the owners, have been collaborating with a revolving cast of incredibly talented friends to make this land a model of sustainability, as well as natural and artistic beauty. We grow a ton of vegetables as well as flowers and keep flocks of free range chickens and ducks. Bea is a fine artist who makes beautiful nature-based drawings (check out her (email hidden)), and Zac is a builder and woodworker who has been pouring his heart into beautifying and constructing buildings and infrastructure at Sparklebark. Our vision is to continue to steward and beautify the land through agriculture as well as art, we are so excited to share this little slice of paradise!
Our neighborhood is the nearby mountain range. We live on seven acres of land, and rarely see or hear our neighbors. Sometimes if the wind is blowing the right way, you can hear the laughter of the children who live on the other side of the valley. We enjoy the rural setting but can be at any location in Asheville in under 15 minutes and on the blue ridge parkway or deep in the woods in 20!
  • Had an amazing time visiting Asheville and staying at this lovely farm! The hosts were amazing and offered the best recommendations on food, hiking, and activities to do! The treehouse getaway was so quaint and charming! All in all great place to stay and we will be back again to visit!

    Winnie2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a blast! Everything was so beautiful and perfect! Even the rain made it more relaxing (we thought ☺️). It was so beautiful and we will highly recommend it and probably be back! We loved downtown Weaverville too, so thankful for a great relaxing spot to spend our anniversary! The bathrooms are so clean and pretty, and the little cabin in the trees is so charming and relaxing. The gardens were also so beautiful and everything just felt like home! We loved our experience here!

    Megan2018-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Both host were very welcoming and suggested very yummy places to eat!

    Katie2016-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beatrice and Zac gave us excellent guidance to yummy food spots and were very warm and welcoming! The cabin was even dreamier than I imagined and although I need a little more practice cooking over a fire, the fire pit was super cozy and I absolutely Loved making hot chocolate and looking at the stars! I highly recommend Sparkle Bark for anyone who needs a refreshing get away. I am so grateful for this little bit of paradise hidden in Weaverville!

    Elizabeth2015-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at sparklebark. The cabin was just what we were looking for! The view of the mountains was amazing! It was super convenient to get in and out of Asheville. Zac was a great host, the cabin was very clean and well equipped. We will definitely be coming back again next year.

    Marty2015-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Sparklefarm is a fantastic place and a great way to visit Asheville if you like being outside and you want stay outside of Asheville proper. My girlfriend and I went here during early April, and we enjoyed the cool weather. We were able to stay in the camper and the treehouse; both of which were creatively decorated and it was very easy to tell that our hosts, Zach and Evan, put a lot of thought in how they constructed the camper, treehouse, and outhouse/shower. We would certainly stay there again, and I recommend the Sparklefarm for duos looking to explore western NC.

    Moyo2018-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse is one of a kind and is really different than most properties. It fits the idea of a small mountain region farm in the South. The granola feel to the property makes you feel at home and calm.

    Evan2018-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nothing but good things to say about Sparklebark. Our hosts were welcoming and had great recommendations for food and brews. Our cabin was nothing short of magical. The space was clean and was some of the best sleep you will get if you like cool night air and birds chirping in the am. The shower was the best we have taken, possibly ever. Definitely will be coming back to Asheville, and Sparklebark is at the top of our list of places to stay.

Quiet country life in a private community, just minutes from downtown Asheville. We have a small herd of sweet, friendly miniature goats which would love your attention. We often have kids (baby goats) too. Come for the fabulous hiking, the award winning restaurants, and a little goat therapy too.
Contemporary studio apartment, suitable for one person or a couple (one double bed). Living room with flat-screen TV (DVD player and Roku) and wireless internet provided, bedroom area with very comfortable double bed (all linens provided), fully stocked kitchen large dorm size refrigerator and separate small freezer, bathroom with shower. 7 miles or 10 minutes from downtown Asheville in east Asheville. 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and awesome hiking spots. We are situated in a 3-home private eco-community in the mountains right outside the city (Asheville). We have small dairy goats, vegetable gardens and live a quiet sustainable country life with Asheville's nightlife, restaurants, theaters, and fantastic hiking only a short 10 minute drive away. Studio apartment is very private with separate parking and private patio overlooking trees, goats pastures, and cow pastures. We are in the country outside Asheville (but only 7 miles)-- buses don't run out here so it's important to have your own transportation. We don't use cable TV anymore but have endless entertainment on Roku-- we have subscriptions for Netflix and HuluPlus and Amazon Video for both movies and TV shows. We have self-check-in and instant booking available. IMPORTANT: We have a lovely sweet labrador retriever, who is a rambunctious and super friendly 7 year old, and two cats. If you are afraid of dogs or don't like them, you should probably consider something else. Animals are NOT permitted in the studio apartment. Also, the goat area is fenced in with high voltage electric wire to keep predators out. Inside the goats pen, feel free to play with the goats! They are very friendly.
  • I will be recommending this quaint, studio apartment to everyone. Julia, her lovely lab Milo and the goats were all so sweet. They made us feel very welcome and were certainly accommodating. The studio was in great shape, very clean and had all new amenities. Julia left us maps for beautiful nearby trails (I recommend the Blue Ridge Parkway Trail as the view is spectacular) and even made sure we knew how to find them. The residence is located about 10 minutes outside the city and is an easy, beautiful drive. We definitely hope to be back soon!

    Nick2014-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was possibly the best value that my wife and I have ever come across for lodging. The studio was beautiful, clean, and comfortable, and the setting was exquisite. We enjoyed talking with Julia and she let us hold her adorable baby goats. The whole experience was a delight.

    John-Michael2014-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Julia was a great host. She has really cute goats fenced in the back of her woods that she absolutely adores. Her dog was really sweet and fun. The place was really cool and private in a studio below Julia's house. It had everything we needed to get a good nights sleep before heading out to hike all day. It's about a 10-12 min drive from downtown asheville. We will definitely stay here again!

    Caitlin2013-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Julia's place. The check-in and check-out went smoothly. She even provided some amenities we weren't expecting and asked if there was anything else I needed. The apartment was very quiet and her goats and dog were an added bonus.

    Michael2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Julia was a fantastic host. Her rental is in a very good location. It's so quiet and peaceful and it feels like you are not even in the city yet it is only 3 miles away from a grocery, post office and more. Julia did a great job building, designing and decorating her studio. You will also fall in love with her dog Milo. I would definitely go back again!

    Marilyn2012-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Julia is friendly and her space is great! We enjoyed her dog, goats, and the beautiful hiking trails she mapped out for us. I had one of the best sleeps in awhile because of the bed and the green couch is also a nice touch. The location is very convenient and we would definitely stay again.

    Jeanine2013-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying at Julia's studio and a wonderful experience just like the last time. I throughly enjoyed the beautiful surroundings, Julia's adorable animals, and her vibrant energy. The studio's amenities are well appointed. It gave me a comfortable place to come home to after a day of exploring the fabulous Asheville. I would definitely recommend it and hope to be back soon :)

    Lulu2016-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Julia's place was wonderful! Great location. Secluded, yet close to town. The goats are definitely a plus for animal lovers! I miss them already. Definitely will be back and definitely recommend her place. Perfect for couples.

  • We had a wonderful time in Asheville! It was our first time visiting, such a fun and neat city. The Urban Oasis was the perfect stay, once we were done downtown or hiking it was nice to go back and relax.

Clean, modest 1969 mobile home on a small organic farm. Accommodates up to 6 people. Continental breakfast included. Kitchenette; private bathroom. The advantages of country life just 15 min from Asheville and 8 min from Weaverville: see birds, rabbits, turkeys and deer; enjoy great restaurants and breweries nearby. We are in the Blue Ridge mountains of beautiful Western North Carolina, so there are many opportunities for hiking, fishing, whitewater sports, or just relaxing.
Our place is in a quiet, rustic area surrounded by a few neighbors. It is on a dirt/gravel road at the bottom of a steep hill, so expect bumps along the way. It is ideal for people who like camping and are looking to unplug, since there is no Wi-Fi and cell phone reception may be spotty depending on your carrier. Also, there are fans but no A/C. The home is in a shaded area, so it stays pretty cool most of the time. The space has a queen-size bed, a full-size bed, and a queen-size air mattress that we set up for the 5th and 6th guests . If you book for 2 people, please specify if you are OK sharing or would like separate beds. In the kitchenette area, you'll have a sink, regular-sized fridge available to store your food, coffee maker, two-burner hot plate, microwave, toaster, basic pots, pans, plates, and flatware. There is also a basic bathroom with a hot shower and flush toilet. In the winter, the road to our place can get icy; you should be prepared to park at the top of the hill if your car does not have 4-wheel drive. The neighborhood has a combination of traditionally built houses and mobile homes, which is pretty common in rural Appalachia. Since it is outside of town limits, the area gets pretty dark at night: perfect for stargazing, but big-city folks may not be used to it.
Quiet, rural setting. Dirt/gravel road; expect bumps along the way. The neighborhood, which is very safe, has a combination of mobile homes and traditionally built houses. If you live in a suburban area, you may not be used to this, but it is pretty common in rural Appalachia. Conveniently close to Weaverville (quaint shops & restaurants), Asheville (breweries, restaurants, music scene, Biltmore house) and mostly everywhere in this corner of the Blue Ridge Mountains (hiking, whitewater rafting, waterfalls, horseback riding, ski resorts).
  • The hospitality was out of this world. Michael and Maria were so sweet!

  • Maria et Michael nous ont accueillis avec beaucoup de disponibilité et d'attention. Adresse que je recommande particulierement.

    Frančois2018-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay here! It was a cute place and it felt like we were camping in the middle of nature with the added benefit of a bed and shower. Maria was an amazing host and even left us some food for breakfast and s'mores (they have a fire pit outside) in the fridge.

    Lyndsay2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • I loved the small touches: fresh wildflowers in the trailer, s'more makings in the fridge, books. As a city girl (though one who spends a lot of time in the woods), I did feel a little nervous about being out there solo. Mike assured me, though, that the neighbors are friends and I'd only hear animal sounds. He was right. It was a peaceful stay.

The "rad pad" is a 600 square foot open, airy, modern nest just two blocks off of funky West Asheville's Haywood Road. Our neighborhood is HIGHLY walkable with tons of restaurants, coffee shops and other goodies just a short walk away! We offer safe and secure off road parking directly above your abode. We'd love to have ya...p.s. we've been "superhosts" every quarter since we made our space available to our lovely guests.
One huge studio with milk stained wood ceiling and large beams, shower with floor to ceiling subway tile, concrete floors throughout, kitchenette with coffee maker, mini fridge and toaster oven (not that you should eat in while you're here, but maybe you need to heat up those left overs?). The bathroom has two specific areas, a shower area with sink and nice table for toiletries and another space with the toilet and another sink, with drawers for clothing or toiletries. The bed is a super comfy queen with down pillows and comforter. We also provide slippers and robes for our guests to feel like the kings and queens you are! Please enjoy the front porch/stoop of your pad and the provided chairs, too!
West is BEST! West Asheville is where most of the artists in this city live, as well as an eclectic mix of other vibrant people. We're a middle class neighborhood with a touch of grit and a whole lot of revival.
  • Meg made everything easy! The space was great and the bed was extraordinarily comfortable. A mini fridge and toaster oven were helpful since we had leftovers from The Admiral, an amazing restaurant right up the street. The National Geographic was a nice touch. I will book this unit for my next trip to Asheville, hands down.

    Ian2016-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Meg was so friendly and the radpad was cozy and clean. It was a great location and our hosts gave us great suggestions for walkable restaurants and outdoor activities

    Emily2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing!!!! I would recommend it to anyone!

    Malia2016-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was absolutely one of the best airbnb experiences my husband and I have ever had! We stayed at Meg's urban oasis for just one night, but we were blown away by how large, clean, and cozy the room was. It was quiet and peaceful, the bed had probably the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on, the linens smelled really good, the walk-in shower was beautiful, and the vaulted ceiling + lighting with dimmers was incredible. Check-in / out was a breeze, and we followed several of Meg's restaurant & coffee shop recommendations — all fantastic. Oh, and there were even fresh flowers and comfy slippers for both of us! Highly recommended!

    Brittany2015-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! Meg was easy to communicate with and quickly responded to any of my questions. The home is clean and comfortable and a quick 10 minute $7 uber ride to downtown. I would definitely recommend staying here when visiting Asheville!

    Anna2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely loved the rad pad!! Fresh flowers, coffee, soft linens, fluffy robe, slippers...I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Everything was AMAZING!! I didn't want to leave...checkout was 11:00 and we left at 11:00. Will definitely come back.

    Michelle2016-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and a lot more spacious than I expected. The place is in a quiet and safe residential area. I had no problems calling an Uber or Lyft to take me around Asheville. I loved that there were bathrobes and indoor slippers for me to use. Definitely made my stay more comfortable! You can't cook here but there's a mini fridge (lots of bottled water!) and a coffee machine. Meg was super helpful and answered any questions I had very fast. I highly recommend this airbnb!

    Ling2017-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Rad Pad was delightful. It was clean, bright and welcoming. There was off street parking and we could easily walk to dinner, lunch or breakfast. We will definitely return upon our next visit to Asheville.

  • Very cool tiny house and Paul is a very accommodating host. Highly recommend.

    Alex2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Paul is a very helpful and gracious host. Check in/check out were super easy. The location is very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway which was great for us as we went cycling on it. The house is a renovated carriage house with a lot of character.

    Rosemary2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best AirBnBs we have ever stayed at. The cottage is custom-built with impeccable attention to detail. A fantastic space with no clutter and just what you need for a trip to Asheville.

    Theo2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We booked this awesome place back in May of 2017 for another trip and we unfortunately had to cancel at the last moment due to some unforeseen pet sitters problems back home. I was really disappointed we couldn’t stay so I decided to book the place again for our anniversary in March of 2018. Both times Paul was easy to get in touch with and answered any questions I had. He even helped me plan for an in house massage with Emily. The massage was great if you want to book her! I was also playing around with the idea of hiring an in house chef, which Paul was quick to try to accommodate that for me as well. I loved how the cottage looked the moment we got into it. Such a great environment and loved being able to see the bunnies outside the windows. We took Ubers around town, downtown was 10 minutes away and high land brewing company was only 6 minutes away. Overall everything was great and we plan to stay there again for our next visit to Asheville. Thanks again for making our anniversary weekend great!

    Victoria2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! It was damn cute and my girlfriend and I loved how nice and quiet it was. A few miles from downtown Asheville so the location was nice too. We live in Charlotte and plan to visit again so we will most definitely make sure Paul's place is available.

    Joe2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • EVERYTHING about Paul's home was amazing! He was a fantastic host, and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about our entire stay. We will certainly be back and recommending Paul's place to everyone we know!

    Meaghan2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay. The place was the perfect size for us, it was unique and had great character. It was also very clean and it was in a centralized location. We greatly appreciated the tips on the hiking trails that Paul gave us and my girlfriend loved the bunnies and Fritz.

Large oak trees create a lush background echoing the seasonal changes, with plentiful shade in the summertime, vibrant hues in the fall, and much needed sunshine through the winter & spring. Meandering down Cumberland or Montford Ave simply to admire each unique home is a favorite pastime of locals & visitors alike. After 10 years in Asheville, I still love soaking in the unique history of each expertly designed property.
  • This charming apartment was clean as a whistle! The location was perfect in the beautiful historic Montford neighborhood. Asheville's fun downtown area was an easy 10-15 minute walk. The apartment was just the right size for my husband and me and the bed was really comfortable! We took Elizabeth up on a couple of her restaurant suggestions - Nine Mile there in the Montford neighborhood and Curate downtown. Both were excellent! Elizabeth was a gracious host. It was evident that she has put a lot of thought and care into providing a pleasant experience with this lovely AirBnB apartment.

  • I would recommend Elizabeth’s place to anyone! We went to Asheville to explore and staying here made it easy to check out all the spots we wanted to go to. Everything was so easy here—great and quick communication, easy check in, and loved having a parking space rather than having to find parking. Can’t wait to come back!

    Hailey2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved our stay. Elizabeth was friendly and helpful and the space was so cute and clean. Quaint little neighborhood with an easy walk downtown to enjoy some beer and good food!

I designed this cozy, small space (12x24) for myself and have loved living in it! If you have ever wondered what it's like to live tiny (or smallish) come stay and try it out! It's located behind my personal residence in a sweet little neighborhood minutes from downtown...(Uber is available). The deck overlooks a quiet ravine where the bears travel frequently (not as much in the winter). It's quiet and close to everything! Adults only... Thank you! Airbnb guests only. No visitors, please.
I had this quaint and cozy cabin built by a company specializing in small home design. Their craftsmanship is unparalleled! It is nestled in the trees above a small ravine and sits in the backyard of my house. It is small (288 sq ft downstairs, 100 upstairs and a 100 sq. ft. deck) but has the feel of something bigger with high ceilings and an open concept and loft. It is close to downtown, the Biltmore, and Blue Ridge Parkway but feels like a quiet get away. This space is meant for two people and is for adults only. Absolutely no pets, smoking, vaping or parties. Please respect the no pets policy as there are folks highly allergic to even hypoallergenic pets. Thank you! Features: All new designer furniture Brand new queen size bed in the loft Full sized refrigerator Toaster oven, microwave, and hot plate for small meals. Coffee maker with Starbucks House roast coffee Ceramic tile bath with roomy tiled shower Wide plank oak hardwood floors Rosewood dining bar in eat-in kitchen Hide-away fold down writing desk with view of trees and wildlife Real stairs/storage to the loft Tankless water heater so you have limitless hot water Beautiful deck out back to sit and take in the view This Tiny House is for my Airbnb guests only. No visitors please. Come see how special this place is! I love it!
This house is located in a cozy, tree-lined neighborhood 4 miles from downtown. Close enough to anything you want to do but tucked away in its own little patch of woods. Walkable neighborhood to a public library, two playgrounds, one block to the Farmers' Market on Fridays, and two blocks to PennyCup coffee shop (try their frozen Green Tea!) and Creekside Taphouse BBQ...yum!
  • My husband & I had a great stay! Cute place & Karen was great. Hope to stay again!

Welcome to our (320sf/29m) tiny home! We are 25 minutes to Asheville and 7 minutes to the quaint river town of Marshall. You’ll love our place because of the homemade character of the cabin and the natural farm setting. The mountain views and quiet solitude are perfect for couples or a single traveler. Doggies welcome too! Folks love our place as a way to un-plug in style and for it's location to major sights. Come stay in minimalist simplicity and enjoy the sunrise and starry night sky.
Rustic elegance. Our cozy cabin is two-stories tall, on top of a hill overlooking our hill and holler covered in young fruit shrubs and nut trees. On the first floor is the kitchen, small dining area and porch. Upstairs is a full-size bed and reading nook with mtn views. The kitchen is stocked with cookware, an electric burner, spices, oil, and a water heater (for coffee or tea), small fridge, and drinking water. The water system is rustic, but it works well. Fill up your own water from the spigot nearby The cabin has an outhouse a short walk away, but no shower or bath. In cold weather, there is a space heater AND a stylish wood stove for heat. There's a garden fence that doubles as a pet enclosure (Yes, your doggies are welcome!) a fire ring for enjoying the nighttime out-of-doors and 3 miles of interesting walks and steep trails around the neighborhood that we have developed. In 2018 we are planning to build an outhouse close to the cabin plus a seasonal bathhouse. People have booked our cabin for romantic getaways, for personal writing, music and spiritual retreats but mainly for it's awesome proximity to hiking and culture. Many book with us to get a feel for staying in a tiny home and for our hill's appeal for gardening enthusiasts.
The neighborhood is rich with interesting people and projects, including an artisan cheese dairy and the 'Prama Institute and Wellness Center'. Geoff is an agro-forester who has helped develop most of the trails and planted fruit and nut trees around the neighborhood. You may notice that we are building a second larger guesthouse with attached greenhouse that will be ready in Autumn of 2018. This is a great weekend getaway for people wanting to get away from the city, enjoy a taste of Asheville, read and write, or become engaged to their partner (twice happened!) Dogs are welcome and we are an affordable option to host small 50+\- person wedding ceremonies and receptions.
  • This cabin is just adorable. Location is pretty easy to navigate to. The views are gorgeous. Wish we stayed another night.

    Brie2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a spot! If the tiny house doesn't blow you away the views will. Set back on a garden overlooking the mountains is a prime spot for sunrise and sunset. The house was cute, clean, amd comfortable and i would absolutely come back.

    Lauren2017-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • This house is perfect. Every morning you get to wake up to a sunrise over the mountains in the distance. The mountain breeze offers perfect sleeping conditions. A little off the grid but well worth it. Will be back soon

    William2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to escape and unwind. Btw, when they say steep steps they mean it and wear sneakers, that hill is steep too. Geoff and Sofi were super nice, the place was clean and ready with little touches that were really helpful. If your looking for a nature escape, look no further, this is the place.

    Andrea2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house is on amazing land, and the setting was very memorable and special for us as guests. There was even a handy hand-made map of walking trails that we followed until Sunset (we went down to the cliffs, which were beautiful). The home itself is charming and well-equipped, though if not able-bodied or if traveling with small kids, I may have been a little intimidated by the steep steps. For us, it was all part of the experience and adventure. Very peaceful at night-we wish we could have stayed longer! Thanks for opening up this home and land to us.

    Holly And Jake2017-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I enjoyed having such a nice place to rest that was close to Asheville. The cabin wasn’t hard to find at all and we felt cozy and comfortable during our stay! Would definitely come back.

  • Everyone needs to disconnect. Get away from the mundane living of the city life and appreciate the beauty of momma nature. This cozy lil cabin is what will make you sleep like a baby at night and wake up to happy song birds with beautiful sun rays. Perfect, perfect getaway :-)

  • This was one of the coolest Airbnb's I've ever stayed in. Geoffrey and Sofi's tiny home is the perfect tranquil getaway from busy life. You should definitely check out the awesome Cliffs trail.

This cozy room has a comfortable queen-sized bed, a private bathroom, and your own entrance. Walkable to Downtown and the River Arts District. Very close to the Biltmore Estate and West Asheville. Easy parking. People of Color & white people welcome; LGBTQ & straight friendly. Dogs too, but not on the bed. (Read our pet policy below!)
Simple, clean and comfy w/ queen-sized bed, private bath, good shower, fridge, microwave, coffee-maker, & wireless internet. Breakfast is on your own, but why eat in your room when Foodtopia awaits you? We are LGBTQ and straight friendly. People of Color and white people are welcome. Our home is an urban micro-farm in the making and a land partner in Patchwork Urban Farms. (We’ve prioritize cultivating pollinator habitat and building soil over manicuring a lawn). We are an easy walk or bike to the River Arts District (less than 1/2 mile) and Downtown (1/2 mile to Southslope, then another few blocks to Pritchard Park). It's downhill all the way home from downtown :) You can bike to West Asheville (less than 2 miles) or UNCA (about 3 miles). We're also really close to Biltmore Village and the entrance to the Biltmore Estate (less than 2 miles). Pet friendly for dogs with well-behaved humans (**see notes below re: dogs). Dogs count as an EXTRA guest. (So if there are two humans and one dog that's three guests altogether.) We love Asheville & love to help others love it too. We're happy to offer guidance and suggestions or to leave you to have your own experience. Check out our guidebook for this listing. Our place is simple and affordable but with the added bonus of a private bath and private entrance. You will be welcome and comfortable here. (**A note for visitors with dogs: I love dogs. Absolutely love 'em. I don't provide a crate, and your dog cannot be on the bed. Yes, I will know. If your dog has never stayed in a crate before this won't be a good place to get him or her used to it. Try it at home first. I prefer you not leave your dog here while you're gone. They tend to feel stressed in a strange place, hearing strange noises. So please be prepared to take your dog with you when you go out. Asheville is a very dog-friendly town. Lot's of places with outdoor seating and a few that allow dogs inside. When you arrive there will likely be a moment of excitement when your dog meets our dog, Minnie. Expect barking and sniffing. It's a good idea to let your dog have a walk across the street after traveling and the excitement of meeting another dog in a new place. Thanks!)
The South French Broad neighborhood is on the south-west fringes of downtown so it's easy to get most anywhere in Asheville. I love the urban stream right across the street, the proximity to the river and how it's perfectly situated to be a leading area for urban sustainability and urban agriculture.
  • Exactly as described, great location and budget friendly. Michelle is a wonderful host and was there to share some interesting facts in the area and recommendations on places to go. We would deff stay again! Also, 1 night isn't enough in Asheville

    Stephanie2016-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Michelle was perfectly lovely. There was a lot of information about things to do in Asheville and the room was very comfortable. The mini fridge in the closet was useful for all the delicious leftovers we had from food places in Asheville!!

    Sofia2015-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay. The listing was accurate. The room was very comfortable, with a separate entrance and a private bathroom. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. Michelle was very welcoming and easy to get in touch with and communicate with.

    Emily2016-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a lovely visit in Asheville. Michelle's place is central enough for a pleasant walk to downtown and it was equipped with all we needed for out short stay. It was especially nice to have the refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker in the room!

    Darcy2013-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a short but sweet stay here. Michelle was ever so helpful, responded to emails super fast and had a million suggestions about local attractions, restaurants etc. It is really the perfect location to explore the River arts district and downtown, within 10-20 mins walking from most places yet it's very quiet.

    Piroska2015-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle was communicative and my arrival was easy and smooth. The room is great. Comfortable, private. Simple accommodations with a friendly host in a convenient part of town. Thanks, Michelle!

    Rachel2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle is a great host! She was very responsive when we needed to contact her. Her house is in a very convenient part of town. It's on a busy street but relatively quiet all the same. We would love to stay there again in the future.

Country setting and close to town - the perfect mix. Just a short 14 minute drive on the river to downtown Asheville and the River Arts District. Completely unwind in this peaceful setting - relax on the hammock and listen to the sounds of the bold creek. The beautiful studio apartment, with kitchen and laundry, welcomes you after a day of exploring. Nearby attractions include: white water rafting, kayaking, hiking, and all the wonderful restaurants, breweries and shops of downtown Asheville.
Studio apartment in finished basement of residential house. On a quiet private road.
  • Loved this place! So quaint, had everything you need (including a washer and dryer!), and very easy to find.

    Emily2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an amazing time! We met the host, Randy, twice and he was so friendly and hospitable! He left us alone the entirety of our stay, and we had plenty of privacy. The area itself was gorgeous, such a beautiful backyard with so much nature in itself! We saw horses, beavers, tons of different birds, and it was just an overall beautiful view and stay. The suite is perfect for everything that you need and was in spectacular condition. My girl and I agreed that we would pay over 700 in rent for this place! We had a wonderful stay and Randy had a sheet prepared with activities to do and places to visit and see. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend!

    Bobby2018-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • The instructions to the place were easy to follow, the place was nice and clean, and the area was beautiful and peaceful. We were visiting Asheville for the night and Randy gave recommendations for things to do. He came out and said hello which was a friendly touch to our experience!

    Megan2018-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a beautiful property, a very nice family, and such a well thought out experience.

    Cam2018-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great quiet and peaceful place to stay. Randy is an awesome host and had everything you need to be comfortable and more! Space was super clean and comfortable. Will definitely be back!

    Brianna2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Randy’s place was great! About 20 minutes from downtown, perfect getaway! He left s’mores supplies and bottled water as well as k-cups! Very cute and super clean!!

    Savannah2018-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • The description of Randy's place is accurate. Beautifully decorate; with all amenities you need in a small space; which feels large. Nice view of pasture land and babbling brook ( items for s'more making was a cute touch) with hammock for relaxing. Perfect directions and communication provided at check-in made locating easy. We were only there one night; but enjoyed all of the special touches.

    Mike2018-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We love Randy’s place!! It got us away from our usual stays in the Asheville area, but not too far away from Asheville. The apartment was very clean & the country surroundings were peaceful. Randy’s attention to detail, from pictures included in the directions to the thoughtful s’mores package left for us, are quite admirable. Thanks for a great stay!!

If you are looking for a secluded mountain getaway this is not the place but if you looking to be in the heart of downtown festivities then our loft is the perfect place for you. Our loft has local art, full window view of College St., high ceilings, exposed brick and an amazing balcony. We are right in the center of all of the downtown action. Downtown is lively especially at night where you can enjoy craft cocktails, amazing food and live music.
Luxury downtown loft on second floor of historic brick building. Sitting balcony overlooks College St.
Downtown Asheville is energetic and we are right in the center of the action! Lots of cool spaces to explore, amazing restaurants and nightlife. We are across the street from Table and Imperial Life. We are two doors down from the One Stop/Asheville Music Hall which stays open late and features funk, reggae, and rock. Old time, bluegrass, celtic, rock, symphony, African drumming, trad jazz, modern jazz, gypsy, singer-songwriters and eclectic street performers are a stone's throw from here as well. Award winning restaurants including sushi, Indian (north or south), Korean, Italian, BBQ, Southern, vegan, charcuterie, farm-to-table, pizza, Spanish, Ethiopian, Himalayan, gluten free, French, Chinese, bakeries, coffee houses, tea, four chocolateries, twelve breweries (and counting…) and food trucks galore. Art galleries feature openings every weekend in downtown and nearby and keep daytime business hours to explore artists from the area and from afar.
  • The loft is absolutely great. The location is perfect, minutes walk to all downtown dining and shops. Hosts are spectacular.

    Rem2017-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at Krista and Andy's place and again we absolutely LOVED it!! Are already planning our next couples trip and hoping to get both units!!

    Ashley2016-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Such a hip, beautiful perfectly located loft. Balcony was the best.

    Wendy2018-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Krista and Andy were amazing hosts and made our stay incredibly easy. The condo was in an incredible location for exploring downtown Asheville and was a perfect cozy getaway. Would definitely stay here again!

    Katie2018-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic loft in the heart of everything. The parking garage is 30 yards away and Tupelo Honey was two blocks (yum!). Unbelievably perfect for a couples stay, if you are going to be out late and enjoying the Asheville night life.

    Thomas2017-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time we've stayed in Krista's loft and having that amazing space as our base while exploring Asheville is such a value add. Comfortable, well appointed, stylish, dog friendly, amazing location- it has everything to love and more. Thank you Krista!!

    Meghan2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • There is a reason why this airbnb is a Superhost. Krista is not just a Superhost, she is a Superstar host! The loft is immaculately clean and offers everything one would need in a home. The coffee maker is out of this world! There are plush, fresh towels, quality soap, shampoo, toilet paper, and the linens are incredible. Truly a little paradise in the middle of downtown Asheville. In addition, Krista let me in several hours early and checked in on me several times. A definite A+! Thank you!

Our beautiful and modern guesthouse, tucked away in the woods on top of the mountain, has LOTS to offer. With window views of the Blue Ridge Parkway, centrally located 15 mins from both downtown Asheville and Black Mountain, this is the perfect peaceful getaway. Charming. Romantic. Relaxing.
This charming, cozy, modern guesthouse sits on the mountain at an elevation of 2800 feet! It has so much to offer. Featuring a queen sized tempurpedic bed, which comfortably sleeps 2 people, (however an extra mattress can be arranged for a 3rd person if needed for an additional $25 per night) With its large windows looking out over the mountains you can watch the birds and squirrels or maybe even see a fox or a bear! Nature awaits you! You have access to a private deck with the most magical morning views, a wonderful place to sit and enjoy your coffee before exploring Asheville's breweries, the Biltmore Estate, some GREAT hikes or many other fun things Asheville has to offer. And if you feel like staying in and watching a movie there's an XBOX 360, Netflix, HBO NOW, HULU and a large DVD collection to choose from when we are home. You will find a selection of coffee and tea for your enjoyment. You will also find a binder in the apartment with several of our recommendations around town as well as directions to the nearest hike from our home!(3 miles) And there's a yoga mat available for you to use if you need it! It is the perfect romantic getaway, or retreat to write, read, or contemplate life. If you are passing through riding the blue ridge parkway we are just a hop, skip and a jump away. We are close enough to town, yet magically set in the mountains. Relax in nature or visit a local brewery downtown. Either way enjoy all the wonderful aspects of Asheville. We are closely located to many wonderful Ashville attractions: 2-5 miles from entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Warren Wilson Collage, WNC Nature Center 3 miles to a great hiking spot in the Pisgah National Forest. Directions to this spot will be in the binder in the apartment when you check in. 6-10 miles to Downtown Asheville, the River Arts District, Biltmore Estate, Highland Brewery, Pisgah Brewing, Wicked Weed, Wholefoods, Trader Joes Under an hour to Mt. Mitchell, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure And SO much more!! Disclaimer: As we no longer have a security deposit...If you happen to break or damage anything there will be a replacement fee of $25-100+ If you log out of any tv apps without our prior consent such as Netflix, HBO, Hulu there will be a $25 inconvenience fee. If you have unannounced guests or break house rules (such as smoking, cooking meat, having parties, etc) there could be a fine of $50+ per rule.
On top of a mountain looking out over the trees where you can even see the Blue Ridge Parkway from your window. Beautiful, romantic, quiet and peaceful. The views, woods, nature and wildlife surround you. Being that we are on top of a mountain there are some steep hills and windy roads to climb as you make your way to the top. Which does make it all worth it for the views! Just fyi, we used to drive a Prius and made it up just fine. If booking in the winter months please understand that a few times a year the steepest hill before our home can get icy enough that we have to leave our cars at the bottom and walk. It's not often but it does happen. And January of 2016 we actually got snowed in for two days which was awesome but not everyone may think that is awesome. :) Getting snowed in here is actually rare. The community said that was the first time in over four or five years that it had happened.
  • Awesome little studio up in the mountains. Everything was very clean and tidy and comfy. Skylar had even put a few craft beers in the fridge to welcome us. Overall very satisfied with the experience - I was looking for a patio with a bit more of an expansive view but much of it was blocked by the trees. Only a minor thing amongst the rest of the great features of the place.

    Danya2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great studio setup and comfortable bed. Only 15-20 minutes from Asheville attractions. Perfect option for a weekend getaway!

    Jordan2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to chill out and clear your mind.

    Roy2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and quiet get away, offers all the amenities in a clean and secluded place. Enjoyed coffee in the morning on the deck and beautiful sunsets over the mountains in evening. Hope to stay here again during our next trip to our favorite city.

    Abigail2017-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful mountain retreat! we had such a lovely stay in your adorable little studio apartment!

    Emmy2017-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This mountain top over-the-garage apartment was comfortable, clean, and private. When the price is the same as an okay hotel, and less than a lot of other options, it's a great deal and preferred. This was my first Airbnb experience and I'm not sure I'll ever default to staying at a hotel again.

    Jonny2016-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • I throughly enjoyed this quaint and quiet hideaway in the mountains of Asheville. I was happy to have the time away from Atlanta to just relax, read and enjoy the fresh air. I was very comfortable and would book again in the future.

    Asenith2016-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • The view was beautiful, the accommodations were top notch and clean. The hosts were extremely accommodating and willing to help make our experience the best it could be. They provided some local beers to sample which was a nice touch. We would definitely recommend this location and would without a doubt return in the future

Spend a unique night in our beautifully converted bus. Nestled in a pine forest at the crest of a ridge overlooking the Black mountains, but just 15 minutes from downtown Asheville. This romantic sanctuary is peaceful and lush.
This is not your typical hippy bus! Elegantly furnished and nestled in a pine grove, the bus provides a plush full size bed, sink, and eating area. The bus sits in the shade of the forest, is lined with windows and equipped with a standing fan so it stays totally cool and comfortable through the summer. It has electricity and a coffee maker. Sheets and towels are provided.
  • Do not pass up the opportunity to stay here!!! Everything about the location was perfect. The views were priceless. The quiet atmosphere was peaceful but also inviting! We arrived late at night and found our way easily to the bus. When we turned the lights on our minds were blown. We never stopped being amazed by the whimsy of it. I was also pleasantly surprised by how easy the composting toilets were to use. Words cannot describe the feeling of showering outside with the warm sun and sky smiling down at you. Wow. Just wow. Please book here, you owe it to yourself!

    Kierra2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sparklebark bus was such a cozy and warm experience. The view is wonderful. The bathroom and outdoor shower just add to the rustic feel and the magic of the whole experience. Hosts are super friendly and kind. I will be coming back in the future.

    Rose2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful mountain views. Be sure not to close the bus door all the way, we made the mistake and were locked out our first night.

    Shannon2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • LOVED this place! We will be back again for sure!!

    Bryan2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • The bus is perfect for relaxing. There's nothing better than the morning sun rising over the mountains as viewed from the four poster bed. The bath house was charming. I'd certainly stay here again.

    Cindy2018-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the bus and it was romantic and charming. My boyfriend and I had the perfect ending to our 9 day road trip with a 2 night stay. Showering while looking at mountains was definitely a perk! The star gazing was un real, apparently Jupiter was at its closest to earth in its orbit the night we were there and it was so bright and wonderful! Thanks again, we will be back.

    Gabriela2018-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed on the bus and it was amazing! We stayed in mid-August and did not have any issues with it being too hot at all. The bed was incredibly comfortable, we felt a sense of peacefulness and privacy, we were able to make coffee every morning and fires every night. The outdoor shower was beautiful and had hot water (which was awesome), and we even made friends with some of the other visitors staying in the cabin at the time. It was maybe a 15 minute drive into town as well. It's definitely a peaceful, beautiful, quiet, lovely place.

    Sara2018-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Sparklebark. Everything was perfect and ready when we arrived; the bus is just like the photos, very quaint, pretty and comfortable! We were also able to sit and enjoy the view beyond the garden. Highly recommend!

An adorable, romantic, Moroccan influenced getaway close to downtown and walking distance to West Asheville's restaurants and shops. This cottage sanctuary is truly a three-dimensional piece of art, with exquisite architecture and artistic touches. Quiet street and family neighborhood. Queen bed upstairs and single reading/sleeping loft downstairs. Three blocks to Carrier Park, two miles to the River District, and a short stroll to Owl (amazing bakery)
Your own cottage in the heart of East West Asheville. River Arts district is 5 minutes away by car. Unique two-story cottage built by two designers in West (Website hidden by Airbnb) looks and feels like a house you may find in Morocco or Majorca . It's only four years old , but built to look like an old villa. Heating and air conditioning, ceiling fan above bed. 100 % cotton bedding and throws are throughout the house. Walking distance to Haywood Rd. Pizza Mind, Owl Bakery, Hole Donuts, Short Street Cakes, The Apple Orchard Cider house, Walk and my favorite for dinner, The 5 star restaurant The Admiral or more casual Bim Beri Bon. Villagers is across the street from Owl. They carry a unique selection of books on homesteading, fermenting, herbs and gardening along with interesting home goods such as local pottery and cutting boards. Two cats, Rue (gray) and Gingko (black) live on the property and sometimes wander around the cottage door looking for an ear scratch. Chickens also live on the south side of the property. Cats and dogs live in my house- the blue one.
Mostly bungalows, friendly, low key, walk big distance to Haywood Road's restaurants and Carrier Park. The Admiral, Owl Bakery, Villagers ( home goods) and Bim Beri Bon are all above average.
  • camille made everything easy and comfortable. From booking throughout our stay at her lovely cottage we couldn't have asked for more. The description is 100% accurate. The cottage and neighborhood are just really fun.

  • Camilles is a very artsy and comfortable place to stay. Communication was easy and check in very simple. Great central location and close to downtown Asheville!

    Diane2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in the Mermaid Cottage was a dream. We arrived and it was easy to check-in, Camille was flexible with our arrival time. We immediately took a nice nap in the lofted bed/nook which was incredible comfortable and charming. The decor of the house is simple, artistic and made us long to live in a small home with such unique simplicity. The couch was the most comfy, adorable couch. We stayed in early July and didn't need to use the air conditioners, opening the windows provided enough air flow to keep up very comfortable. The bed was one of the best I've slept on. There was even a little container of water and cup next to the bed. There was adequate storage space for our belongings and bags. The bathroom was fantastic, the shower had great water pressure and temperature. Camille even provided us with a delicious bar of soap to use! I would recommend this house to anyone and everyone. There were guests staying in the house next door and you would never even know they were there.

    Samantha2015-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Camille was a phenomenal host and has created a quant and unique cottage. The location was just a short drive from anywhere around town. I would greatly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in Asheville. I hope to make it back soon.

  • Camille was the best host! She left us yummy chocolate and a sweet note. She was an excellent host and provided everything we needed for our stay. Her place is the cutest cottage I have ever stayed in and it's in a great location in the Art district just a few minutes from downtown. I would definently recommend the cottage to anyone visiting Asheville. We will definently be back :)

    Ansley2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! So much cooler in person! It's a very short drive to the shops & restaurants in Asheville so it was very convenient. We were able to visit the art district and explore downtown easily! Camille was a pleasure & made sure we had everything we needed. The cottage was very neat & clean. It was perfect for a fun little get away for the 2 of us!

Beautiful, spacious walk-out basement apartment overlooking mountains, forest, and river. Unwind in the hot tub after hiking. Enjoy coffee on your deck. Let nature lull you to sleep on the king size bed. Relax and rejuvenate in this lovely retreat, just minutes from most attractions: 2-4 miles: Blue Ridge Parkway, Highland Brewery, Folk Art Center; 5-7 miles: Downtown Asheville, River Arts District; 9 miles: Biltmore Estate, Black Mountain, Pisgah Brewery.
The walk-out basement apartment is light and bright, with windows in each of its 4 rooms that offer various views of mountains, forested property, and the Swannanoa River. A sliding glass door in the living room and a glass door in the kitchen both open to your own deck. The hot tub is just a few steps down from the kitchen door on its own deck. Note that hosts do not use hot tub when guests are present. The living room features a comfy couch and other seating, and a 42” smart TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, PBS, etc. The huge master bedroom with a king-size bed opens - via a wide doorway (no door - see photos) - to the living room. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking equipment and dinnerware, and includes a dining table for two.
Botany Woods is a beautifully wooded and quiet neighborhood one mile outside the Asheville city limits. The neighborhood is bordered by the Swannanoa River. We are a short drive to parks, attractions, breweries, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and downtown Asheville. Please drive 25 mph or less in our neighborhood, and watch for pedestrians.
  • We had a wonderful time at Miriam's place. The apartment is located in the lower level of their home, in a very quiet neighborhood in Asheville. It's about 10-15 minutes to downtown but it feels like a mountain get away. The apartment was very clean, cute, well equipped and had amazing views of the forest, mountains and a stream down below. We slept very well, the king sized bed was very comfortable and Miriam even bought us bagels with cream cheese, and orange juice as a welcome gift! There were a lot of thoughtful touches throughout the apartment that made our stay feel like home. We loved it here and you will too if you visit!

    Matea2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is PERFECT for a secluded getaway in the mountains! Between the comfy bed and the hot tub, we almost didn't want to leave for daily activities! Highly recommend!

  • I cannot say how much we enjoyed staying at Miriam's lovely space enough! It was truly a magical trip and I wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else. I hope to stay here again on our next visit, which I hope is sooner than later!

  • Wow, this is a gem. I felt so comfortable in this bnb. The views were outstanding and the proximity to Asheville and the Blue Ridge parkway are excellent. Our hosts, Miriam and Patrick take a great deal of pride in this property. I knew They wanted us to feel right at home.

    Ellen2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Miriam's place was excellent and I highly recommend staying there if you're traveling to Asheville.

  • Awesome view from the hot tub. 15 minute drive to downtown but this location feels totally private which is nice. This apartment is very spacious too. We definitely enjoyed our stay. :)

  • Overall, the place was amazing and Miriam was a wonderful host. The only reason I gave it four starts for the pictures being accurate is because it was actually bigger AND nicer than expected. Thank so much for a wonderful place to stay!

  • Our stay was absolutely perfect! This was our first time traveling with Airbnb and the hosts were amazing! Communication was excellent. The apartment had all the necessities plus more. Highly recommend!

Sweet, serene studio w private entry, big arched windows and deck. Located in a friendly, mellow neighborhood in west Asheville, walking distance to funky shops and restaurants.
Private entry to your own space, featuring comfortable queen bed, bathroom with shower, beautiful arched windows with blackout shades, sitting area with coffee, large ceiling fan, air conditioning. Attached to our home but private. Access to sitting area on deck, gardens and parking. Bed and bathroom both new in spring 2017 ;)
We live on 1/3 acre with large oak trees in a beautiful neighborhood. There is a park 5 minutes walk away and the West Asheville downtown is less than a mile walk away. Downtown Asheville within 10 min easy drive or uber. Bent Creek, the Arboretum and the Parkway are with 15 minutes for hiking and biking options.
  • Pictures are slightly misleading as the surrounding area outside the gorgeous windows show neighbors, didn't feel very private. Although we were there when no leaves were on the trees and Im sure this makes a huge different! We got in late and didn't meet Kathie but she was very quick to respond and seemed very nice!

    Whitney2017-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay! The house was conveniently located in west asheville, close to a number of shops and restaurants and a quick uber ride to downtown. Kathie and her husband were very sweet and gave us many suggestions of places to hike and eat during our stay.

    Jane2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Kathie's place was perfect for my quick stay- she met me the night of check in and was always prompt in replies. We even had a brief chat about local spots to visit. I appreciated the warmth of the welcome, and the arched windows were beautiful! The bed was also supperrr comfortable. Thanks for everything, would highly recommend to other travelers.

  • We had a great two night stay. The accommodations were clean, bed comfortable and it was in a quiet area. It was an easy drive to downtown and Biltmore Estate. Coffee was provided as well as drinking water, plates and utensils. There is a refrigerator too.

    Linda2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and cozy room with location central to restaurants and Biltmore. Before our stay, we did not realize that there was no air conditioning (listing did not mention A/C so I should have known) but there was a tower fan that helped lessen the July heat. Great view from the room and a beautiful porch. All basic amenities were provided!

    Upasana2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • No need to set your alarm in this suite, the big open windows will wake you up with the beautiful rising sun and glorious picturesque view of green. Loved staying here, could have not been more perfect!

    Julie2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Arch Suite! It is so conducive to relaxation. Kathie is a wonderful host and has thought of so many little details to make guests feel welcome. I am looking forward to my next stay!

    Stephanie2017-06-18T00:00:00Z

  • Jennifer's tipi is imaginative, fun, beautiful and a lovely place to spend a day or more. We were on a longer road trip staying in very rustic places and the tipi was like the Ritz in comparison. The bathroom especially! Highly recommended as a place for relaxing and having an adventure. Marshall is also a super cool town. Take a flashlight for climbing the stairs at night.

  • Such a cool place in a great location. Host were amazing a responsive to any questions.

    Charity2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Tipi was awesome!! It was a fun experience! The hosts had everything you could need and were super nice! 10/10 highly recommend! Thanks for an awesome experience!

    Paige2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • This teepee is awesome! It has a beautiful bathroom and comfy beds. It gets a little hot during the day, but cools off quickly at night. It’s secluded from the world, but close enough to Asheville to go see it for the day. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

    Heidi2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the Tipi it reminded us of camping and we miss camping. It is cozy, stylish and very quiet. The bathroom is roomy and clean. The Tipi itself was cozy and we enjoyed sitting by the fire pit. The hike up the hill and steps to the Tipi would be challenging for someone that was older or someone that has trouble with walking uphill. The door does not lock. That did not bother us so much but for some you may not feel secure. I slept great and would recommend this place to anyone that wants quiet serenity and just that camping feel.. loved it.

    Melissa2018-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Went here for a bachelorette weekend and had the best time! We went hiking, love the nearby downtown, and had so much fun in the tipi. It had a lot of extra stuff that we didn't at all expect and when communicating, the host was extremely helpful and kind. We have all decided that we will be coming back again and again for this unique experience!

    Hannah2018-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! We will definitely be back and we are telling all of our friends to come! It was chilly while we were there but the radiators kept us toasty. The fridge was big enough for the essentials, and although we were five women and a baby, we never felt cramped! Wonderful time!

Keyless entry with a door code, so you can check-in without host's help! Full kitchen, queen bed, living area and private outdoor patio - all within a 10 minute walk to the best of West Asheville. Just a 5 min drive to downtown. Basement apt.
Studio apartment in the heart of West Asheville. Private entrance and private space. Walking distance to Sunny Point Cafe, West Asheville Yoga Studio, The Isis, West End Bakery, Westville Pub, The Admiral, the new Biscuit Head, the tailgate farmers' market (on Tuesdays), grocery stores, and much more. 15 minute bike ride and a 5 minute drive to downtown. Even closer to the River Arts district! Full kitchen, bathroom, queen bed with high quality linens, comfortable living area, including a long, comfy couch (great for 3rd guest), oversized chair, and a private patio. New construction, unique, funky, retro, clean and convenient. I can offer a sleeping pad or air mattress for a 4th guest. Expect a relaxing environment, comfortable accommodations, mini-split heating/cooling, dehumidifier, knowledgable, friendly, and helpful hosts, a big back yard, and a safe, lovely, and interesting neighborhood. We love Asheville, and we're happy to tell you why and help you find your way around. Or leave you alone. Whatever you prefer. Y ¡Hablamos Español! (So does our dog, Fina.) The public bus runs right by our house, so it's easy to hop on if you don't have a car or a bike. Note: The apartment is below our living area, so you may hear footsteps and/or other signs of life above you, despite high-quality soundproofing insulation between the floors. We make every effort to walk softly and protect your peace and quiet, especially between 9:30pm - 7am.
Walkability is the best feature of my neighborhood. So many fun restaurants, shops, and night spots are within a 10 minute walk of the studio, as well as quiet neighborhood strolls if you prefer. Biscuit Head for breakfast and The Admiral for dinner are my two top recommendations. If you love to walk, this is your spot! And downtown is just a 5 minute drive. (See my guidebook for other recommendations.) Walkable evening venues include The Isis, The Mothlight, Westville Pub, and Oyster House Brewery. Other favorites are Nine Mile, The Universal Joint, Sunny Point, and Dobra Tea.
  • We had an excellent stay in Kari's basement flat. It was all the room we needed for two people, and was a short walk away from some great restaurants. Ubering to and from Kari's spot to the center of downtown Asheville was $12 total at the max, which made going out cheap and safe. Absolutely recommend Kari's listing!

    Aaron2017-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • I greatly enjoyed staying in Kari's apartment. Private and close to town.

    Sarah2013-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place, very private, and a short walk to W. Asheville. Kari made sure we got situated, and checked in throughout the weekend. Quiet and has everything you could need for a weekend in Asheville.

  • We had a very short but sweet visit to Asheville and this property was ideal! It is very well maintained and absolutely adorable on a gorgeous property! The place was very clean and the bed was SO comfortable! We didn't get to physically meet Kari but through our communications we were given all the necessary information and then some. We couldn't have had a better experience and time in Asheville. Thank you Kari! Cait & Austin

    Cait2015-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our 5-night stay at Kari's studio in Asheville. Not only was the price right, but she was very accommodating and easy to communicate with — we always heard back from her very quickly. Her studio is just as it appears in her photos: clean, comfortable, private, and nicely decorated. Parking was simple and always available. Keyless entry meant one less thing to remember/carry — always a plus. We found that the location was convenient for everything we did while visiting Asheville and would definitely stay again. One note for the always-connected: The studio is below the main house, and that seems to negatively impact cell service (for AT&T, at least). Kari makes up for this with a strong wifi signal, though, so it was never a problem for us. Overall a wonderful stay. Thanks, Kari!

    Ryan2014-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic value with easy walkability to the many amazing restaurants, bars, and bakeries in West Asheville. Also super easy to pop into downtown Asheville from here. The apartment was exactly as pictured and perfect for two people (we brought our 3 year-old daughter, but we knew what we were getting ourselves into sharing a studio with her) The kitchen was well-equipped, plenty of space for relaxing and Kari was a responsive and thoughtful host. The only downside is the loud noise made by flushing the toilet, but we got pretty used to it. Again, fantastic value for this area.

    Lisa2014-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kari was very nice and friendly in the sense that she had reached out during our stay to make sure we felt welcome in the space. The space did technically match the description, however there were a few caveats that made our stay less than ideal. The place was tidy and neat as promised, but the smell of mildew was extremely evident within this basement space. Although trapped moisture is a fairly common issue that happens in a lot of basements, this served as very uncomfortable for me sleeping as I woke up with an allergic reaction to my skin (eczema flare) and a slight sore throat. I had never experienced this before, but the symptoms seemed to have disappeared after a few hours of being outside the space. For this main reason, I believe the price that was asked was not worth the experience.

    Alexi2015-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Kari was very sweet and communicative. The studio was clean, quite and cool. Having access to a full kitchen was really helpful... as well as nice bedding and bathroom linens. We didn't really use any of the outside area, but having a nice little backyard and private entrance makes the experience a lot better. The bathroom water tank was pretty loud, as she explains on the page, but it wasn't a huge issue. We saw Kari (and met her cute dog), only briefly in the evenings - it was nice to know someone was nearby in case we needed anything.

A newly built insulated 10ftx10ft treehouse all wood construction. Many operable windows. Entry point is on the high end of the hill onto a deck that looks over a running creek. There is a small refrigerator and lights. Cook outside on gas grill. No running water but there's a drinking water dispenser inside. Rainwater is collected for cleaning up. The outhouse and primitive shower is 50ft away. Climb a ladder to the sleeping loft which is comfortable enough to stand up in.
The outhouse is a primitive compositing toilet system and the shower is gravity fed from holding tank pumped with well water. The hot water is a solar heated 30 gallon tank mounted in an insulated box on top of the outhouse. The treehouse experience is a good place for conscious environmentally friendly people.
Snowbird road is a state maintained gravel no outlet road where guests can enjoy a walk.
  • Such a cool Airbnb! I’ve always wanted to stay in a treehouse and this was everything I wanted and more. The kitchen has everything you need. The outdoor shower is wonderful. There’s a great record player I enjoyed listening to. It was a great time!

    Jaclyn2018-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse is so beautiful and well thought out. I would highly recommend staying here for a unique experience.

  • Adorable/romantic getaway into the woods. Be aware of no shower and only an outhouse.

    Grant2018-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beth's Treehouse is awesome. Just a short walk up a trail and you are greeted by a gorgeous deck, complete with a gas grill and nestled under the canopy of trees. The design is amazing, beautiful stained glass windows and everything you can imagine you will need. Keep in mind, you are in the woods, so, there may be a spider, moth or curious lightening bug flying around inside, so keep doors closed at night. The treehouse is well insulated, so you don't hear much outside at night. If you like camping, then this is a perfect place for you as it is the best version of "glamping" I have seen. Beth's house is a short walk down the road. She has a gorgeous garden, goats, chickens, a donkey and a new cute pup. Beth had a lot of great suggestions on where to eat and where to relax. She is such a neat lady, intelligent and easy to talk to! We did end up going downtown, stopped at the brewery, very cool spot with great homebrew, homemade pretzels and brats. You will have a blast. It doesn't get quite as hot in this spot of the moutains. However, if you are sensitive to heat, I would suggest bringing an extra fan. My cellphone had decent service, I have Verizon. Go visit the Treehouse, you won't regret it.

    Christina2018-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was sad that our stay was only one night because it was perfect! Beth was wonderful despite not ever getting the chance to meet her. She responded quick with questions and gave us wonderful suggestions of places to go right in town that fit our interests. We will be back again if we are welcome! What a wonderfully unique space!

    Carlyle2018-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Beth's treehouse was a beautiful place to stay! Everything you need for a peaceful getaway.

    Theodore2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • This treehouse was great! Everything you need was there to cook. The shower was amazing & the right temperure. Wish we could stay longer.

    Mariza2018-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beth's treehouse is beautifully crafted with stained glass and aesthetic tree branches on which to hang your coats and towels. The location is a beautiful, short, mountainous drive away from the cute town of Marshall, NC, and is a 30-40-minute drive from Asheville, NC. Overall, great location, fantastic hospitality, and a beautiful retreat from it all! Be sure to give a warm welcome to Beth's friendly animals.

One bedroom, one bath private basement apartment in beautiful mountain home. Private entrance, incredible views and tons of outdoor space including fire pit.
Finished basement apartment. The bedroom has a queen bed, cedar lined closet and vanity closet with sink. There is no window in the bedroom. Some people really like having a very dark bedroom, for others it can be unsettling. Both the kitchen and the bathroom do have windows. The laundry room has washer and dryer that you are welcome to use, along with a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and toaster. This kitchen is not set up for heavy duty cooking (no pots and pans, stove top or oven) but it gets the job done for casual meals or reheating leftovers. Dishes are provided. The bathroom is small but has excellent water pressure. Please note that there is no internet or cell reception indoors, although you can get a clear signal outside. There is a tv with a dvd player and movies, no cable. Also note that you must walk through my garage to get into the basement apartment. The house has beautiful views and loads of space to roam. There's an outdoor fire pit that you are more than welcome to use, and hammocks for lounging in the summer. Very private location that feels like you're far out in the woods but you're really only minutes from Asheville and Black Mountain.
The best thing about this neighborhood is that there isn't really one! The house is fairly secluded but still only a short drive to Asheville or Black Mountain. The roads close to my home are very windy, so you may want to add a few minutes to your expected commute if you're not used to mountain roads.
  • Nice, secluded little mini home. Check in was a breeze and Ellie was a great host! Location has phenomenal views. Close to downtown but far enough away to enjoy nature. We saw turkey and deer in Ellie's yard one morning. Be prepared to put your phone down and enjoy your company. We weren't there a whole lot, but when we were there it was comfortable and quaint. Bedroom has no windows so it's super easy to oversleep ☺ would definitely stay again!

  • Ellie's Place was super adorable and a nice quiet stay. She was very responsive and helpful.

  • This basement apartment is awesome. Ideal for a single person or a couple. There was plenty of room for two of us. Stocked with everything you need. Felt like home. Ellie responds almost instantly and is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Would definitely recommend if you're in need of a place to stay.

    Darrell2017-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Although we only stayed for one night and did not meet Ellie in person, we had an excellent stay. Ellie provided us with clear, thorough directions to access our apartment and was highly responsive to our e-mails. The apartment itself is very spacious with a cozy, beautifully decorated bedroom that provided us with a great night's sleep after a long day's drive. While certainly in a secluded setting, downtown Asheville was also readily accessible, so it was a great location for exploring.

  • Ellie - thank you for sharing your home - an awesome mountain spot for visiting Asheville or Warren Wilson College - or just getting away from it all in the hills. The basement apartment was great in itself but allows for sharing upstairs / main house if traveling as a group. Must be spectacular in autumn!

Great apartment above the garage. Very private, with large windows looking out into the woods. Small bathroom and kitchen, but a perfect, quiet, secluded space for couples or solo travelers. 10 minutes from downtown Asheville and the Parkway, 20 minutes to Black Mountain and a stone's throw from Warren Wilson College. No Wifi, please be prepared to unplug!
This is an awesome apartment above my garage. It has hardwood floors, big windows, and a small kitchenette and bathroom. There is one queen bed and a futon mattress that can be rolled out for additional guests.
You will be next door to my house (as you're on the top floor of the garage) and you will also be able to see the neighbor's house. Otherwise it's woods all around.
  • Ellie's place is perfect. It's like a small home away from home.

Sunny. Clean. Welcoming. Safe. Beautiful. Easy check in and private access. Very pet and kid friendly. Shared bathroom and hallway, microwave, mini-fridge, self-serve coffee/tea and cereal available. Walkable to so many great W. Asheville restaurants/cafes, 5 minute drive to beautiful downtown, 10 minutes to Biltmore and central to hiking.
Reserved parking. Separate thermostat in room. We purposely do not have a TV in the room but do have wifi. This room shares a hallway and brand new bathroom with our other room- kind of like a private-room, very nice hostel. It is in our walk-out basement, so you will hear the sound of footsteps and pipes from above. Fenced in backyard and deck available any time. Available for your use is a pack and play, toys/games, playground and trampoline (adults are also welcome to partake!) We are a legal Asheville homestay, so you will not risk having your stay cancelled due to City prosecution. If you are looking for a place for a larger group or want to stay with us but prefer a private suite, this room is rentable with our other room. (Check out the listing: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/12600829 )
We are in a prime West Asheville location, easily walkable to Sunny Point Cafe, Isis Music Hall, The Hop ice cream, Ingles supermarket, Westend Bakery, Odd's Cafe, Westville Pub, Universal Joint, King Daddy's, Nine Mile (and more!), but also on a safe circle of single family homes. Urban West Asheville is quintessentially "Ashevillian", but is still "up and coming" in some parts. If you don't like up and coming, downtown is just a 5 minute drive- it's gorgeous.
  • We had a wonderful stay at Alisha's place. Her home is less than a five minutes drive from the shops and restaurants in West Asheville. Alisha spared no details in making us feel right at home. We arrived late at night to the her place, but everything was easily navigated and explained ahead of time. We had no issues. Overall great stay!

    Josillia2017-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Alisha’s place was very clean and the most organized Airbnb I have stayed in. She had a binder with ideas and itineraries for staying in Asheville. She was a welcoming host and the place was perfect!

    Hannah2018-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to stay! We were sad that it was only one night: The house is very clean and the organization of the basement where we slept is thoughtful and very kind! They offered coffee and breakfast. I highly recommend this room!

    Anni2016-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a place that is relatively close to everything (8 minute drive downtown), space for yourself and kind hosts, definitely stay here! As my first AirBnB stay, I would say that I got spoiled a bit. The bed was wonderful (stayed in the Lavender Room), we had a mini-fridge for our food, a bathroom (shared with one other room, but was never an issue for us); honestly, very content with my stay! Alisha has great tips for where to go and what to check out. I would definitely recommend staying here for comfort and for closeness to the city.

    Alyssa2016-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Alisha's home was beautifully decorated and incredibly clean. Entrance to the basement is private. Walkable to West Asheville and a 7 minute drive from downtown- great location! Room specific temperature control, a sound machine, and pour over coffee are a few of the added amenities. Would highly recommend!

This is the latest in a series of profiles highlighting the City of Asheville’s vibrant and diverse neighborhoods. The City of Asheville maintains a list of neighborhoods who have registered as official organizations. Name of group: Five Points Neighborhood Association Formed when: Formed in the mid 1990s Location: Five Points neighborhood is situated about a mile north of the city of Asheville. It sits between Merrimon Avenue and Broadway and continues north to North Street near UNC Asheville. What qualities make your neighborhood unique? Many of the houses are historic and beautiful wooden bungalows and craftsman 4 squares built between 1900 and 1925. The neighborhood is centrally located, and great for walking or biking into town, Montford, UNC Asheville, and local schools. We have sidewalks on most of our streets. Who are the people that make up your neighborhood? There is an eclectic mix of people living in Five Points–the neighbors generally know each other and help each other out. Some folks have lived in the neighborhood for generations, but now we are seeing more young families moving in, as well as recent retirees looking for a walkable neighborhood experience. We have professionals, craftsmen, teachers, professors, students, chefs, acupuncturists, health care workers, many artists, activists, musicians, photographers and fantastic gardeners. What is some of your neighborhood’s history? The neighborhood was one of the first bedroom communities in the City of Asheville. The streetcar service used to run up to Mt. Clare Avenue and end at Hillside, an area we call Little Five Points. That is why that street is wider than any of the others. The estate of Mr. George Pack, of Pack Square fame in Asheville sat where the new Harris Teeter site sits today. The estate was called Many Oaks and there was a large mansion there with a grand stone wall encircling it.
  • The space was perfect for a couple! It was the perfect amount of comfort to enjoy our time at the place but when we wanted to leave we didn't feel like we were tied to the place. The perfect landing spot for a nice long weekend in Asheville. The area was VERY quiet and led to a really relaxing feeling. You are walking distance to downtown and a cool coffee spot halfway in between downtown and the airbnb. $6 uber ride from the heart of the action. Also, we left a speaker there and the host was able to call me, let me know, and get it back to use in a really convenient way. Overall a fantastic experience!

  • I'll start this by advising that my group left a day early as we were not comfortable at that cabin. I have reached out to the host/administrator and it seems that I'm just waiting for something but after the comment implying that 3 women suddenly broke a faucet, my hope for them doing anything to rectify the situation was quickly diminished. For starters, I have indeed driven off-road in my vehicle but the cabin was a tad more difficult than I as lead to believe. So much so that the 2nd half of our party I advised not to come as they wouldn't have made it and I couldn't in good conscious ask them to risk that ride. Upon entering the cabin we quickly realized that the rest of the group would not have been able to walk up and down such a narrow spiral staircase at all, would have likely resulted in an injury so it was it another confirmation that it was best they did not come. In addition it appears that there are some chairs missing from that dining room table so we wouldn't have all been able to sit at the table. The place seemed to be a mix of several items just left all over. I don't recall them advising that there was no seating at all on such a large deck but I must have missed that information from you, it was quite surprising that the deck of that size had no seating. We found the cabin was not very clean, the floors seemed as though they hadn't been swept, there was a vacuum cleaner left directly beside the spiral staircase, the trash cans seemed out of place, the fan in the dining/living room was full of dirt build up, there were black long hairs in the sinks of 2 of the bathrooms (the master up & the one closest to the 2 bedrooms on the main floor), there was a bar of soap left on the floor of the shower stall, which furthered our belief that the place hadn't been cleaned, the sheets were all not fresh (it wasn't a stale mountain smell, it was more that they hadn't been washed in a long time, maybe months), the toilet paper holder in one of the bathrooms came off as soon as it was touched, it seemed as though all the left items by other renters were left exactly where they were (for example in the master bath there was 6 shower gels on the bench, not together or put away just left there), before we left one of us tried to take a shower and could not get the water to stop running... and then there were the bugs. There was an infestation of red bugs, so much so that we couldn't eat or cook because they were dropping from the ceiling onto the island, they were in every room but very heavily in the kitchen... literally landing on my friend's face as...

  • We had a wonderful stay! Ten of us stayed, and the accommodations still felt spacious. The rooms were very clean, and the upstairs rooms, in particular, were well-appointed--one was even luxurious. All were comfortable. The environment was peaceful. Great advance communication. While I wouldn't advise arriving and having to navigate the dirt road the first time after dark, none of us had difficulty in driving it. Great lodging!

    Gail2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful and comfortable. The space has great energy and we felt at home while we were there. The beds were VERY comfy. The house is in a very isolated, peaceful place. We really felt like we were “getting away from it all,” yet the WiFi still worked great. We enjoyed hiking to the waterfall on the property. My kids are already asking when we can go back.

    Rosemary2018-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Pictures and descriptions do not do this place justice. It is an absolutely marvellous retreat location. All the amenities you need, quiet, peaceful, and beautiful surroundings can only be matched by the attention of Colin and Rob. We were 11 faculty members/graduate students on a writing retreat and had absolutely the best and most productive time in this space. We will all be returning again next year.

    Corey2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is the best place to relax. Amazing views, and the House has everything you need and more. They offer even hiking boots. We loved it.

  • This peaceful place was the perfect setting for our Christmas vacation for our family of 12. The Wheel of Bliss Retreat house was spacious and comfortable and had room for a lot more people. The bunk beds with queen beds on the bottom were a very nice touch, and the rooms are beautifully decorated. The host and caretaker took extremely good care of us and the kitchen is well stocked with anything you will need to make a special meal of your own. It is located on a gorgeous property and not too far from Max Patch Mountain, a highlight of our trip. Our teenagers had enough wi-fi to still text and (Hidden by Airbnb) , yet we still had family time to unplug and unwind and enjoy jigsaw puzzles and games together. Plus, the star gazing is AMAZING!!! I highly recommend this property to get away from it all in a very nice space. We look forward to visiting again.

Come enjoy seclusion and mountain views in this sweet little cabin tucked back in the woods of our 125 acre private gated mountain top escape which backs up to Pisgah National Forest. Hike 150 yards down a flat gravel road to get to the cabin for a retreat from your normal day to day life. Although we still have cell phone coverage, we encourage you to disconnect and enjoy the mountain view, nature and solitude. Bring your dogs. Bring a book. Enjoy the simpler things.
This cabin is located on 125 acres of private land that is gated and backs up to Pisgah National Forest. It is 4 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway and to the top of Mount Pisgah. It is close to all of our favorite hiking spots and swimming holes on the Blue Ridge Parkway! An easy 25 minute drive to Asheville and all of it's amazing food and breweries. We moved this cabin from Abingdon, Virginia and reassembled with some major embelishments. The cabin is 100% off the grid: that means solar panels for limited electricity needs, propane heaters help keep the cabin cozy during the winter, and our seasonal outdoor shower uses a rain water collection system. Enjoy our 3 burner propane cook top for cooking, granite countertops, a sink with a water dispenser for drinking water, board games and a very comfortable queen size bed with nice bedding. The shower is heated and is fed by our rain water collection system. It is open seasonally...between April-October. We close the water lines to the shower during the winter months so our pipes don't freeze. There is a back up solar shower (5 gallon shower bag) that can be heated in the sun and used any time including during the winter months (mind you the shower is still outside!). The cabin has mountain views through the trees and is tucked back in the woods on a flat gravel road that you will have to walk on to get to the house. You will stop and park near the out house. We provide a wagon to help get your things to the cabin. The outhouse is about 150 yards from the cabin with floor to ceiling glass windows looking out through the tree tops...definitely the best view you have ever seen from an outhouse! The outhouse is cleaned out weekly on Mondays. Our Goal Zero solar generator provides limited electricity to run our solar lights inside the cabin. If it has been cloudy, expect to need to use lanterns for lights inside at night. The cabin is tucked in the trees during the summer and doesn't get a lot of sun (which is great since it stays cool inside during the summer!). During the winter, the space is heated with a propane heater and can stay pretty warm. If they are calling for below freezing temperatures, I would recommend bringing some extra blankets or sleeping bags. Bring some wood and make s'mores in our fire pit! Bring a cooler for your perishables since we do not have a fridge. We love all dogs of any size and welcome them to come on vacation with you! They will need to be left in crates if left indoors while you are out adventuring in town. We prefer they don't get on our furniture. Bring dog beds along for them. We are happy to be able to provide a dog friendly space since we too are dog owners and lovers....we just request you clean up after them, relocate their poops to the woods, and be sure to sweep up their extra dog hair before you leave.
Our mountain top escape is at the foot of Mount Pisgah and backs up to Pisgah National Forest. The roads are steep, but amazingly paved and engineered. This property was originally intended to be a housing development, but we have purchased it and put it into a Forestry Management Program with EcoForesters. Future plans include a trail system, and bath house. We have one other Airbnb on this property but they are very far away from each other.
  • We spent 5 days at Haley’s cabin, and it was amazing! The space is secluded and only a short drive to half a dozen great hikes. Haley has clearly put a lot of thought into making sure everyone’s needs are met, and we enjoyed the thoughtful details. (Games and books for quiet/rainy days, books to read, and extra seating for an outdoor meal) Our trip was a quiet and peaceful slice of heaven for us and our dog, Kima. Thank you again Haley! -David and Justine-

    David2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my stay at Haley's place! The view is beautiful and it felt very secluded. It's definitely off the grid--no electricity or shower (though it sounds like the plan is to add one later), but there was a generator that I used to charge my phone and lanterns and a propane heater, so it's not exactly roughing it either--a nice balance for someone like me who wants to get away but isn't too hardcore. :) The cabin was cute and cozy and the area surrounding was amazing! I hope to go back again soon!

    Janeen2017-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Haley and Jason did a great job with this place! Really cool off grid systems for the shower and lights, very tastefully decorated and an awesome location. A super comfy bed too! We hiked some great trails off the blue ridge pkwy, only a few miles away. Will definitely stay again for longer next time we're in the area.

    Jen2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay! The cabin and outhouse were both super clean and well stocked. Unfortunately it was chilly and rainy the whole time we stayed, so we didn't get to try out the shower or fire pit, but the cabin was cozy and comfortable and the propane heater works great! We can't wait to stay again sometime in nicer weather :)

    Ginger2018-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Loved how secluded the cabin felt - it's a great cabin if you just want to unplug for a bit.

    Sweta2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is an incredible mountain house, equipped with everything you need for the weekend. The space is well thought out and every inch is used efficiently. I took my wife and 4 month old and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The heater inside was absolutely critical and kept us all warm at night. However, I will say, I wouldn’t use a pack n play for the babies (unless it sits higher) because of heat rising we found it didn’t keep our little one super warm. The house manual is perfect and everything that’s said is very helpful. I would highly recommend arriving during the day - nighttime would have been very difficult to navigate. There are beautiful views that rival any other house in the Asheville area. Loved our stay!!

    Cody2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay for an adventure in the mountains. Although being off grid, it definitely had some creature comforts and style. Highly recommended.

    Daniel2018-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful experience! We felt taken care of from the second we made the reservation. The cabin is spacious, homey, and extremely well kept. Who knew using an outhouse could be so exciting!? Definitely hope to return.

If you are looking for a secluded mountain getaway this is not the place but if you looking to be in the heart of downtown festivities then our loft is the perfect place for you. Our loft has local art, full window view of College St., high ceilings, exposed brick. We are right in the center of all of the downtown action. Downtown is lively especially at night where you can enjoy craft cocktails, amazing food and live music.
Luxury 1 bedroom loft located in the heart of downtown Asheville
Downtown Asheville is energetic and we are right in the center of the action! Lots of cool spaces to explore, amazing restaurants and nightlife. Award winning restaurants including sushi, Indian (north or south), Korean, Italian, BBQ, Southern, vegan, charcuterie, farm-to-table, pizza, Spanish, gluten free, French, Chinese, Ethiopian, Himalayan, bakeries, coffee houses, tea, four chocolateries, twelve breweries (and counting…) and food trucks galore. Art galleries feature openings every weekend in downtown and nearby and keep daytime business hours to explore artists from the area and from afar.
  • Great location great hospitality

  • We loved Krista's apartment on College street. It was centrally located and really lovely inside. It was spacious and had everything we needed plus Krista was super responsive when we needed to ask her questions - we really appreciated that. Even though we had lots planned we often just sat in the living room and relaxed. There is noise at nighttime but we didn't find it to be an issue even though my husband is a very light sleeper. We would recommend this apartment to anyone!

    Alejandra2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • I booked the apartment for the weekend to teach a photography workshop - the location was PERFECT and the light was amazingly amazing! The apartment is so beautiful and Krista was so accommodating making for an absolutely stellar weekend. My husband came up to see the flat and we both agreed, if we're ever staying in Asheville, THIS is where we're staying!

    Danielle2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as pictured, perfect location, clean! One note for those sensitive to cigarette smoke: this is an old building with old windows. One of two nights a large group of people was smoking on the street level, and quickly the loft smelled of cigarette smoke because the group was right below the windows. It wasn't terrible, but it was enough that it couldn't be ignored.

    Scott2014-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Really remarkable loft in an excellent location. Every creature comfort available. Krista left a very helpful information book which pointed us to the best places in Asheville.

  • Great place. Will stay here again when I visit Asheville again

    Laura2017-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • This space looks and feels wonderful! It has great style and feels very welcoming and spacious. I was worried beforehand that street noise might make it hard to sleep, but my partner and I used the provided noise machine and closed the pocket doors to the bedroom and it was absolutely quiet. Staying here locates you right downtown, and there are two big public garages on the side street that provide easy, reasonable parking ($12/day, as I recall).

    Suzanne2018-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • I'd certainly stay here again when in Asheville; the location can't be beat for exploring downtown and the place is roomy and comfortable. Thank you!
