  • My brother and I decided to make a trip to Portland/Seattle for a fun vacation, and the opportunity to see the other side of the country. Lance's home did not disappoint. We have been in Portland a few days now and the view from the treehouse is the absolute BEST in the city. We spent our first night there and it was a breathtaking way to begin our trip- and see all of Portland before diving into the city. Lance was an awesome host, great to converse with, and had the sweetest cat you will ever meet (this is coming from a dog person). We had such a wonderful time and are looking forward to visiting again soon!

    Jessica2016-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house in a unique area of Portland. Lance was a great host and I would recommend his place for a quite getaway. The view is breath taking from the tree house too.

  • Lance was kind, accommodating and most importantly responsive. He was always available when I messaged him through Airbnb. He also gave us his phone number to text him in case we needed anything. When we got there, he gave us a tour of the house and welcomed us to wine and water. The house is mid-century modern style and has some pretty cool pieces if you are into interior design. The room itself had the most amazing view, as you can tell from the pictures. However, it was definitely a delightful surprise when I woke up in the morning at 7 am, I saw a breathtaking sunrise. The room is perfect for 2 people. We had our own bathroom and towels were provided. You will need a car if you want to stay here as the house is up some winding roads. For a quaint relaxing weekend, I would recommend the tree house! Plus, how many times will you get to say that you stayed in a tree house in Portland.

    Delia2015-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This treehouse is one of the most unique airbnb stays that we've had. The view is absolutely incredible. Lance was easy to communicate with, and everything was as described.

    Megan And Brendan2015-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great house with an awesome view of Portland. Lance was very accommodating. We had a great time!

    Myles2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Tree House exceeded expectations: Lance, our host, extended his wit, implacable taste and a telescope for us to view the Blood Moon eclipse.

    Sean2015-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • This house was absolutely beautiful and Lance was an awesome host! The view was better than we could have hoped for. Would definitely stay here again.

    Brittany2015-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • This treehouse is truly all its cracked up to be. It has spoiled me, and it will be vwry hard to stay in a less cool airbnb now. The gorgeous Devon Rex cat snuggled with us all night, and we were in heaven, high above the treetops!

Unique hand built cob cottage next to lg. pond w water feature. Lg. fenced and gated yard. Gentle, curving space-made from sand, straw, water and earth . Featured in multiple international publications. The floor is also earthen clay with added radiant heat. Beautiful natural light. It's truly a magical place.
It's a curvilinear earthen structure hand sculpted from water, sand, straw, and clay earth. It features a radial roof with a central pagoda-like skylight. When building the Cob, we used reclaimed and natural materials when ever possible. The insulation in the ceiling is made from pulverized reclaimed blue jeans and the floor is made from the same earthen clay. It has a Dutch door, so you can open the top part for additional ventilation. It also has air conditioning available in the warmer months and a radiant heat floor. The bed is a very comfortable double with a memory foam mattress topper. The bathroom for the cottage is in the main house, about 40 steps to the back door. Inside you’ll find a large sitting room and full kitchen as well as your bath with claw foot tub and shower. These spaces are shared with 2 Airbnb rooms in the house. If you find the bath busy, our full bath is available upstairs on the second floor.
We are located in a sweet older neighborhood in inner SE Portland, built around the turn of the century. The neighborhood is extremely walkable/bikeable, and just two blocks from one of Portland's great restaurant rows, filled with unique locally owned restaurants, coffeehouses, bars, food carts, pot shops, ice cream vendors, pizza joints, clothing retailers, yoga studios and yes, even an old-school hardware store.
  • This is an amazing property, especially given the rate and the location. It's about a 15 minute walk to great coffee shops and restaurants on Division and Hawthorn-- definitely check out Quarterworld while you're in town. The cottage is just beautiful-- the bed looks small at first, but trust me there is plenty of room, and it is so comfortable. One of the best night sleeps I've had in a long time. And for the structure, the space stays very warm- we didn't even need to use the heaters provided (although much appreciated) during our stay in February! And to top it all off, the cats are great! So friendly, and a fun surprise. Definitely consider staying here-- I know I will every time I'm in town.

  • It was a very nice place in a great neighborhood. It is very clean, quiet and beautiful.

    Saed2016-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • I loved this place so very much! I kept making my friends drop me off or pick me up so they could see the glorious tiny hobbit house. I loved the waterfall & the fish in the pond, and the resident kitties were so very friendly! Mundane informative stuff: everything was clean, it was super quiet at night, the bathroom & sitting room were cute and well-stocked. Would absolutely come back and will be recommending it!

    Kelly2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing and cozy little cottage only blocks from hot spots on SE Division. Jack and Cris were very welcoming and had excellent coffee from one of their stores waiting for us. I would absolutely recommend this place and I would stay there again in a heartbeat. The bed was very comfy! Bathroom is in the main house, but it is private for air bnb guests and is well equipped. They have two cool cats that hang out in the backyard near that large pond.

    Matt2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Unique and lovely stay in Portland Oregon near lots of local restaurants and stores. Very quiet and safe area. The bedroom is very private and unique. The space heater came in handy this winter! There is a short walk to the bathroom which can become a fast run after the shower. Really clean and the bed was very comfortable. I got to meet Jack who was very kind to recommend a stellar breakfast spot called Roman Candle.

    Peggy2016-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is THE spot to stay at if you're visiting Portland! Aside from the quiet coziness of the hut, there's so many great places within walking distance to eat and drink at. Jack was also available to greet us when we arrived in the dead of night and offer great recommendations, as well as show us the facilities. We loved the experience and would definitely stay again!

    Travis2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • My partner, our 4 month old baby, and I stayed at this adorable cob cottage for one night while visiting Portland. The house is situated on a lovely, quiet street lined with heritage homes, only a few minutes away from cuts stores, cafes and restaurants. The cottage is located in the backyard by a pretty pond and garden. The kitchen, bathroom and sitting area are at the back of the main house, and are shared with one other bnb suite. We loved all the thoughtful touches and the interesting decor. The price was very reasonable, and everything was just as it looked in the photos! We would definitely recommend staying here next time you visit Portland.

This wonderful, private little gem is just a few easy walking blocks from plentiful drinking, dining, dispensing, yoga & coffee spots. You will be one block from Woodlawn Park, 2 blocks from a bus and a 5 minute drive from the Alberta Shopping and Arts District. It's all so comfortably close by, but not close enough to disturb your relaxing, sweet retreat. Come have it all while living small in this tiny, artsy home away from home!
This space was built as a Model T Garage in 1926 behind a 1915 bungalow but it has had a face lift and has taken on a new life as a cozy, warm freestanding studio made mostly from reclaimed materials. A "tiny house" if you will, sweetly positioned between fruit trees and a garden sitting area. The sleeping loft comfortably sleeps two and there is a futon below the loft where one can enjoy a book while the other naps above. Occasionally you will hear the trains in the distance which adds a touch of nostalgia and you get to wake to the relaxing clucking and cooing of the neighborhood hens as this area has a nice spattering of urban farms and lots of mature trees. For your comfort, this as a "pet dander free" space. No pets, thanks. The table pictured here has been replaced with a "garden shed" counter that houses a small, removable basin sink. There is also a rustic, rough hewn armoire to hang clothes and tuck away your backpacks. The little kitchenette corner is stocked with utensils, a two burner cooktop, a mini fridge, a microwave, coffee and a coffee press. The studio's setup is more akin to a cabin, and as many cabins go, there is no bathroom. You will be given a key to the main house so please feel comfortable enough to come in and use the facilities. By the way, it is insulated, well heated, and stocked with plenty of blankets so it is a wonderful, warm hideaway in the fall and winter months as well. Yep, snuggly wifi too. The yard is plentiful with flowers and fruit bearing trees (figs and delicious yellow plums) in the summertime, as well as an array of veggies in the gardens where you can sit amongst the trees and regroup after a hard day at Powells Books. It's within a 5 minute walk from the heart of Woodlawn which has some fantastic spots to shop, drink, dance, and dine: -Firehouse Restaurant, somewhat romantic with good service -Woodlawn Coffee House, for plenty of people watching -Breakside Brewery, to grab a bite and catch up on the game -Grand Army Tavern, have some pork with your...pork : ) -Good Neighbor Pizza, laid back & late night too -P's & Q's Market serves yummy meals and a few grocery items -The Village Ballroom, for Square Dance and Special events -Uptown Cycles, sales and repairs -Portland Girl, spa day anyone? -Greener Grasses, well-rated dispensary -Koken Market, for almost any beer you want, snacks -Café Eleven, art, coffee, lunch & some pastries -Oregon Public House, the nation's 1st nonprofit pub -The Highwater Mark, rock pub with pool & hip hop on last Fridays -Tamale Boy, authentic & delicious with lots of outside seating -Bassato Gelato, 12 rotating flavors+bagels in the morning -HighWheel Mead, open Thurs-Sunday -(Seasonally) Woodlawn Farmer's Market at Woodlawn Triangle, Sat. 10-2 Downtown is a 15 minute drive. The Alberta Arts District is also just minutes away so you can hop on a bike and be right in the middle of the jam-packed Last Thursday Art Walk or make a day of it with shopping, dinner and some delicious ice cream from the infamous Salt & Straw. Then come "home" to your quieter retreat where you can just relax and lay in the hammock.....ahhhh. And as the area is well surrounded by beautiful, mature trees, you may decide to enjoy dinner in the love seat swing under the pergola and watch the evening sky. It is a wonderful theatre for watching small bats do their sky routine in the distance. Flying in? This spot is only 10 minutes from the airport. And while in Portland, you may want some wheels! Well, this location is very close to Zipcars and you can sign up with them or Car2go on their sites in advance of your stay. Check out Turo or Getaround to grab a vehicle to tool But if you want to explore the city on two wheels, Everybody Bike Rentals or Ebikes ( electric bike rentals) are the spots to hit first (10 min. by bus). They provide helmets and locks too! ***If you don't see the dates available on the calendar that you had hoped for or if you are traveling with more than two people, please check out my other listing (#95313) which is also a private studio at the same location. It is larger and complete with a private entry and bathroom. Just ask me! Parking is close and the livin' is pretty easy. So please get that profile completed, then contact me and come kick up your heels and stay a while! Oh! P.S. Please read the description, house rules and post a pic of you in your profile beforehand just so that everyone is on the same page. Much appreciated. Cheers!
  • Andree s little lodge was perfect for what we needed. She was super accommodating and very flexible and willing to even meet us early in the morning upon our arrival. She's very outgoing and friendly and will make sure that you feel at home as we did. We loved our stay and loved the location.

    Andrea2016-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Andrée is awesome and her space is amazing. She is very friendly and accommodating! I would absolutely stay here again and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good Portland experience.

    Marissa2016-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Andrée was a generous and kind host and her space was exactly as listed. High, high recommendation! I would definitely stay here again and enjoy her sweet garden studio. It was very clean and extremely cute, and the only bugs that got in were when we opened up the door (meaning: totally pest-free on arrival, which is better than expected for a space that is literally in the garden!) She also had 2 fans in the space to keep it cool on those hot summer nights. It was private from the main house. Her kitty, which will greet you outside but not come into the studio, is very friendly and soft. Her neighborhood recommendations were on-point and very helpful, and it was a beautiful neighborhood to wander around in and explore. Enjoy!

    Katherine2014-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Andree was very friendly and accommodating. The house and backyard was charming and fun. Andree gave us good tips during our stay on where to eat and how to get to various places through public transport. We enjoyed meeting her pets too! We would stay at her house again if we ever return to Portland again in the future.

    Tina2014-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was a really neat space in a great neighborhood, close to lots of good food and drink. Andree was a very warm and accommodating host. She knows a ton about Portland, and can make suggestions about what places are worth checking out.

    Esther2014-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Andree was friendly and easy to coordinate with, and the barn studio was exactly as described.

    Mackenzie2015-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Andree's was lovely. Andree was accommodating, communicative, and it was nice to chat with her. Our stay was cozy and in a convenient neighborhood. Very enjoyable!

    Danielle2016-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in Andree's garden loft was a VERY special experience. The loft is so charming and uniquely decorated, with lots of thought put into it. We probably spent an hour looking at all of the art and nick-nacks present in the cabin. Andree has great taste, and knows how to make the most of a small space. Not only was the loft beautifully decorated, but very functional as well. The bed was comfy, the linens were soft and cozy, and candles are situated throughout the cabin for some good glow at night. The kitchen was fully equipped (sans oven), and Andree even provided us with coffee beans, bananas, and cold bottled water. She was always available when we needed her, and around when we wanted to have some good chats. Andree is super friendly, and we had plenty of awesome conversations with her. She also knows tons about Portland and shared lots of advice with us. Great location in NE Portland. STAY HERE! It was fabulous!

With lots of space and light, this studio has everything that makes a house feel like a home: a fireplace, a full kitchen, King Memory foam Bed, oak floors, handmade furniture, cable tv i, and a private entrance.
This studio is a welcoming space in the center of an historic neighborhood that offers a unique perspective on the city of Portland. Ask me for in-depth info on where to go and what to see in the Irvington neighborhood, the Alberta Arts District, and other parts of Northeast Portland! Over the years, I’ve gotten to know quite a few incredible places to eat, drink, shop, and explore here. Located at the hub of some of Portland’s most interesting neighborhoods, this studio places the whole city at your fingertips. But adventure can be tiring, and the studio offers ample opportunity to put your feet up. Portland can get nippy at night, and a real wood fireplace, stocked with firewood from locally harvested and dried urban hardwood trees, is the perfect way to warm up and feel at home. The apartment has high ceilings and a great fireplace; it’s minimally decorated but has all the important things: a king bed, a couch with a coffee table, a small desk, a dresser and extra shelves, and a kitchen table. The kitchen comes fully stocked with the essentials for cooking a real meal, and the bathroom always has towels, soap and shampoo. The space is located on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen.
The Irvington neighborhood, now only a ten minute bike ride from downtown, was once a trolley-car suburb to the just-fully-developed West side. Designated a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, Irvington is filled with early 20th century homes that have been preserved in their original states. Irvington has become a livable hub of Northeast Portland as a whole, with shops and restaurants of all kinds, within walking distance, surrounding the neighborhood. Irvington proper boasts more than a few community and culinary destinations of its own.
  • Great location. Really cool neighborhood close to cool restaurants. Place is nice but dated. Pictures make it appear more bright and modern than it actually is.

    Daniel2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jason's place was perfect for my work trip. Efficiency was very clean in a pretty and quiet neighborhood. Well furnished and equipped. Hot week in Portland, so I didn't use the fireplace and had no need for the kitchen but it was well-equipped had I needed to. Quiet for sleeping. Private entrance was nice. Comfortable bed.

    Lori2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • If going to Portland this the area and this is the place to stay.

    Roy2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy and central location! Kitchen was well equipped to make simple meals. Bathroom/shower is VERY tiny and we could have used an extra wash cloth and towel. Overall good experience!

    Kendra2016-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Hannah was very responsive and accommodating leading up to my trip. There is a good amount of privacy. The fireplace was a really fun touch

    Krystal2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice quiet neighborhood. I am private and independent and appreciated the option to come and go with little interaction from host. I knew he was available and was given resources to be very comfortable and informed. I loved this place. It was the best AiRBnB experience I have had in Portland!

    Elizabeth2016-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Hannah and Jason's beautiful and spacious studio apartment was a fabulous place for my friend and I to stay as we explored Portland. The neighborhood is great--pretty houses and trees, and very close to tons of fun shops, bars and restaurants. Street parking was never once a problem. The apartment itself is super comfortable and nicely decorated with all of the amenities you need. Special shoutout to leaving cream in the fridge for our coffees in the morning! We got to meet Jason's two amazing french bulldogs when we arrived--110% good boys. Thank you Hannah and Jason for a wonderful stay in Portland!

    Sara2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jason was great! He checked in with us to see when we were going to arrive to make sure everything would be smooth for us. He was available to let us into the space when we arrived in Portland. The fireplace was amazing, and Jason provided ample firewood and resources to get the fire going. The studio is a perfect size for 2 people. I have allergies and loved having access to a full kitchen to cook in a smaller space. It is harder to come by so we really appreciate that. The location is wonderful. The neighborhood is quiet residential and the bus stop is 5 minutes away. Its less than a 10 minute walk to many restaurants, bars, coffee shops, etc. Great location and loved the quiet at night when we came back to the flat. Portland was frozen over and cold when we arrived so we didn't get to take advantage of his cheap bike rentals but its a great perk!

The space is well-lit with two windows and has a back door to a beautiful garden and patio in the backyard as well as a side door to the courtyard. The location is Laurelhurst - one of Portland's oldest and most beautiful planned communities on a quiet, tree lined street within 10 minutes of the city and 15 min. from the airport. Major shopping, wonderful restaurants and one of Portland's most beautiful parks are all within walking distance. This ideal location is only two blocks from a major bus line and 5 blocks from the MAX train. Our home has also been in "Better Home and Gardens" magazine and has been twice on the cover of "Old House Journal". If we are home when you arrive, we will be happy to give you a tour of our home and offer you a cup of tea or a glass of wine while you have complete access to our English gardens, courtyard and barbecue during your stay. Laurelhurst is an historic old Portland neighborhood with beautiful homes, street trees and a huge park a few blocks away designed by the Olmsted's who designed Central Park in NYC. You will see how homes in Laurelhurst are each very different and unique from craftsmen with large porches to smaller bungalows with beautiful gardens.
  • Sue and Bob were amazing. It is such a shame we could only stay 2 nights but we at least know about this magnificent home and gracious hosts the next time we are in Portland. My partner and I could not find one fault - we arrived at 1am on the Saturday morning and Sue and Bob were accommodating and fantastic communicators. The apartment itself is just gorgeous - if you love retro and vintage decor` it is THE place! Snowball (the cat) was also very friendly which suited me well - we got to know each other in the back garden as I gave him a nice long head scratch. There was ample of information on Portland, where to eat, where to shop and hike - Bob and Sue should be getting paid commission from the city of Portland for all of the references and tips they give. The house itself is gorgeous and my partner and I were lucky enough to get a tour from Sue and Bob - so much history and quirky architectural designs. Our advice: Don't keep looking on AirBnB - You've found the best!!

    Natasha2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • It was a pleasure staying at the quaint english cottage! Bob and Sue are very hospitable hosts, and they love having guests and giving advice on where to go and visit. They even have a whole binder of their recommendations for their guests to use, which was quite helpful since we had never been to portland. There were only 2 of us using the apartment during our stay, which was plenty of space. They have a washer and dryer, which was very helpful since we were traveling for about a week. The bed was comfortable and the space gets plenty of natural light. We highly recommend the cottage and staying with Bob and Sue!

    Chris2015-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Simply put, a wonderful place to stay, with wonderful hosts. Bob and Sue made us feel not just at home, they made us feel like old friends, even restraining their laughter when we related driving miles in the wrong direction in an effort to cross the Willamette River to downtown. (As Bob said, “I’ll bet you saw a lot of things you didn’t want to see.”) Laurelhurst is a gorgeous neighborhood of established homes with good access to Portland’s excellent public transportation system or an easy drive to anywhere you need to be. And the apartment really is a separate residence that even has its own patio. The “English garden cottage” is lovely and an unbeatable value. This was our first trip to Portland… a wonderful city to explore and, with the beautiful Pacific Coast just 2 hours away and the Columbia Gorge just a half an hour, we will need to return… with even more items on our list. A word of advice, any recommendations from Sue and Bob, be it for a restaurant, a “must see” site or just the best way to get somewhere are golden. The apartment, comfortable and cozy… the hosts, the absolute best.

    Janice2012-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely experience in Portland. The cottage is well situated for access by car into the central city, north and south on the East Side, and US 84 east into the Columbia River Gorge. There is a lovely front patio and a back garden with a fountain. The shared space is downstairs, just off the garden, with its own entrance. We ate out most of the time, but the kitchen has everything you need for cooking in if you want. We enjoyed the spaces inside and out for morning coffee and a bagel. The bedroom has a very comfortable bed and plenty of storage space for clothes. The bathroom is large and well appointed. The neighborhood is one of the best in Portland, quiet, pretty, a safe place to take walks. Parking was always easy in front of the house. A peaceful place to be after a busy day, in preparation for a fun evening out.

    Richard2015-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful home! This cozy apartment is so adorable. It's nestled in a beautiful neighborhood which is lovely to walk around. We were greeted immediately by our friendly housecat Snowball, who appreciated lots of good ear scratching. A great stay in Portland. Only wish we had more time!

    Katie2016-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Bob were very welcoming and more than happy to help us to enjoy our stay to the fullest. The space was accommodating, clean, and provided plenty of room. The home is in a great neighborhood, walking distance to Hawthorne Boulevard and Laurelhurst park, as well as bus lines and the Max. The only thing I can say in the negative is that the listing stated the apartment as being "downstairs." I took this to mean on the first floor when it is actually in the basement situated underneath the kitchen. This is not a huge deal, but the sounds from above were intensified without carpeting on the floor. Other than that, we loved our stay in Portland!

    Christine2016-11-13T00:00:00Z

The loft is located in our backyard in Southeast Portland. While we are only steps away if you need us, the space is very private. In fact, guests report that they forget they are in the middle of the city when they stay in our space! We live in a desirable and fun neighborhood, and parking can be tight! Guests usually find parking within a block or two of our house. At night or during busy times of the day, parking can be found within two short blocks. Guests may feel free to use our driveway for loading/unloading. We do not have a TV in the guesthouse, but offer excellent wifi access.
Our neighborhood has everything you will need, mostly within a five-minute walk! And if you want to visit a different part of the city, there is convenient public transportation around the corner. Check out excellent coffeeshops blocks away (Good Coffee and Stumptown), delicious and intimate restaurants (Bete Lukas, Mi Mero Mole, The Woodsman), or walk up to Mt. Tabor Park. If you're into yoga, there's an awesome space (Yoga Union) around the corner.
  • Very convenient to main avenue with many restaurants and shops within walking distance. A clean , well equipped home. Nice bedroom in a loft setting with very comfy bed!! No TV but excellent Wi-Fi Highly recommended

  • Beautiful and well thought out. Tons of light and a convenient location for the SE. Parking was no problem. Would stay here again and recommend it to anyone!

  • We had a great time staying in this lovely guest house, it is a bright, comfortable and well designed loft space -- my parents got lots of inspiration for their dream home after staying in it! It was the perfect space for our group of four. Laurel & Brian are friendly and helpful hosts -- when we arrived they showed us a spot to park and took us to the guest house. The location is fantastic, we loved being able to walk to so many great places plus it was easy to take the bus into downtown. It was a great comfort knowing that we would be relaxing in such a welcoming space after walking all around Portland -- I highly recommend it!

    Jillian2018-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Lauren & Brian's place was amazing! We were able to explore the Division/Hawthorne area and had a wonderful quiet place to come back to just a walk away. Check-in/out was super easy and everything was exactly as listed.

  • really open & airy & new

  • Laurel and Brian's place is great! My wife, son, and I stayed for 2 nights. It is centrally located so that it is easy to commute quickly anywhere around Portland. The neighborhood is beautiful! The back home is warm, inviting and was done tastefully. The loft has the bed and it has a great open feeling ! We loved our time there!!

  • Beautiful place. Exactly like the pictures. Great location!! Washer/ Dryer in the house. Absolutely perfect.

  • The hosts were great communicators and pleasant to interact with. It was a beautiful clean and open space. The hosts were environmentally conscientious. Their place was in a convenient location with cool restaurants nearby. There were nice amenities with some chocolate. Loved it. Would come back next time we're in Portland.

Where Bali meets Portland. Come relax in this newly, beautifully designed, private mixed use accommodation. Just five short blocks from Portland's hip N Williams district. A rooftop deck.
I have a total of five rooms, each listed separately in this unique mixed-use building where I also live and work. You will enter just past the Ned Ludd front patio via a private, secure, gated entrance off of MLK at NE Failing street and follow the stairway up to the second level. This is the larger of the three rooms. Each room is newly refurbished and furnished with beautiful, responsibly sourced tropical salvage out of Indonesia and locally re-purposed wood/trim doors and windows. Your private room comes with a window, a wall-mounted flatscreen t.v., small refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, free wi-fi an armoire, an ornate sink carved out of stone, down pillows, down comforters, a king-sized posturepedic mattress and zen colored walls that might just make you think you are in... Bali?
NEPO (aka NE Portland) is hip and cool and like so many hip Portland neighborhoods–it is ever-expanding and reinventing itself. New restaurants, shops, boutiques and businesses are popping up all over. Whether you are looking for a place to lay your head for the night while you get out and explore during the day, or you are just looking for a place you can hole up and relax, we've got you covered. The options and amenities you will find here in your little oasis in NEPO are plentiful.
  • Great and easy stay - thanks!

    Michael2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Timothy's place. We loved the location- a quick walk to Alberta in one direction and a quick walk to Mississippi in the other direction. We had everything we needed. The bedroom was huge and we enjoyed the patio! We would definitely stay here again when in town.

    Kara2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We booked Tim's place so we could be close to the Moda Center for a game. The room was very cozy, and the bed was huge and honestly more comfy than most beds I have slept on. It's very central to lots of shopping, food, and breweries in NEPO. Very pet friendly!

    Lauren2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed our stay at Timothy's place. The room itself was very clean and comfortable and the location is fantastic. Communication with Timothy was great.

    Kevin2016-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Timothy was a very welcoming host. The room was very nice and in a convenient location.

    Seth2015-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful and convenient stay in Portland. The room was lovely, clean and quiet. We will be back without a doubt!

    Emily2016-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent value. I booked the room becausee of the location next door to Ned Ludd Restaurant. I needed a place to stay, as I was a quest at a wedding reception at the restaurant. When I arrived, I found that I had forgotten to print the instructions, I sent Timothy a text and he responded immediately met me downstairs and let me in! He gave me a quick tour and let me settle in. The facility was secure, the room was clean, light, nicely furnished and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. The bathrooms were clean. The street was a bit noisy, but not too bad. I parked on the side street, with no problem. I had to leave early the next morning, so I didn't visit with Timothy or other guests.

    Laurie2016-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed the stay here in Portland. Parked my car and never turned it on until I was leaving due to the great location. Nice walk to Burnside on the east side of the river, Moda Center, etc. Bring your good walking shoes, but it is worth it.

Relaxed + modern one bedroom basement apt. Bright + spacious with a handmade Portland touch. Comfortable for two, it's a great home-base for the traveler wanting to explore PDX! Located in charming Woodlawn neighborhood. Near the park, bars and bus lines.
Handmade by us! We're a craftsman and an interior designer who are not afraid to get our hands dirty. Stay in this remodeled basement where every detail was thought, planned and carefully constructed. We value high-end, conscious design. Our motto is maintain, reclaim and sustain. All of the exposed wood was salvaged from this 100 year old home! We love our house and hope that you do too. It's a great, peaceful place to crash at the end of the day. A plush queen sized bed, a huge doorless walk-in bathroom (ie. divided by a wall), glass walk-in shower and a tiny but efficient kitchen were top priorities when we made this place. The kitchen has dishwasher/fridge/oven stocked with all the pots/pans and plates to make a nice meal at home. Its always a shifting art-installation, so don't be surprised if the art in the listing photos change. We like to collect art and objects during our travels.
We're one block from 2 major bus lines (the 8 goes to downtown) and our neighborhood market, P's & Q's. 3 blocks from Woodlawn park + 5 blocks to our neighborhood hub: breweries, dance hall, coffee shop and restaurants. Woodlawn is a great area and closely located to Alberta Arts District, Mississippi and Kenton.
  • Wow, what a beautiful apartment. This was our first trip to Oregon and we are so thankful that we stayed in such a cozy, fun apartment. It was pretty cold out during our stay, but it always seemed to be the perfect warm temperature inside. And being from Hawaii, where the temperature never drops under 65, we were very thankful for the warmth. Anna was incredibly helpful and gave us plenty of insight about the beautiful city of Portland. She greeted us once we arrived and made sure that we had everything that we needed. Every part of the our stay was wonderful! Thanks again so much Anna and Jeremy! Love Corynn and Jesse

    Corynn2017-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremy's space was clean, cozy, and well-designed - it's a gorgeous space! The home is a short walk from a few bus stops and in a quiet and safe neighborhood. They provided a long list of things to do and places to eat. We were thankful that they let us pass by and drop our bags off before check in since we had an early flight! We would love to stay here when I visit in the future!

    Gayle2018-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house, even nicer in person. Super clean and comfortable space with everything you need. Easy ride/drive to downtown and fun areas and also easy access to the airport. I was only there for a quick overnight, so didn't get to meet the hosts but check-in was easy and they were super communicative. Great spot!

    Jonny Bruce2018-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Anna was great about communicating and showed us how everything worked when we arrived. The apartment was very lovely and had everything we needed. We'd love to stay here again!

    Adrienne2016-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Such an adorable space in the perfect location. Anna & Jeremy are easy to get ahold of and ready to help. Plus, they had a whole book of recommendations for food, drinks, and places to see, organized by proximity to the space - which was so helpful when you get home from a long day and are hungry and exhausted. Staying here made our trip to Portland just perfect! Thank you Anna and Jeremy!

    Kearci2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great space and neighborhood! We had a bit of trouble reaching our hosts for check in, but apart from that it was smooth sailing. Highly recommend.

    Dash2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in Anna and Jeremy's basement studio apartment. The space is amazing! We loved the neighborhood as well. This was only our second time in Portland and Anna gave us many recommendations in her neighborhood as well as on the east side. The arts district is walking distance and our new favorite spot! Thanks Anna & Jeremy! We will be back!

    Davia2015-06-14T00:00:00Z

Our private detached garden studio sits in the heart of a quiet residential neighborhood and is a short stroll to top restaurants, food carts, and shopping in hip SE Portland. The space is compact -- about 240sf -- but cozy, bright and a great place to unwind after a day of exploring Portland!
Our cozy studio includes a comfy queen bed, vaulted ceilings, full bathroom, kitchenette, and small sitting area. It's fully detached from the main house, so offers complete privacy. Skylights, french doors, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows provide views of the west hills and flood the room with an abundance of natural light, even on the greyest of drizzly Portland days. It's small --about 240sf-- but the space is well utilized with many amenities such as wireless Bluetooth speaker, Portland maps and guides, and comfy pillows and blankets to make it feel like home. The space is best suited for guests seeking a cozy place to relax and recharge after a day of exploring Portland; It's quite small, so if you're needing more of a "hangout spot" this may not be the best fit. The studio has a full bathroom with shower (no tub). The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, sink, instant hot water, coffee maker, microwave and everything you need for reheating leftovers from the many restaurants and food carts nearby. Complementary tea and coffee are provided along with a long list of restaurant recommendations. There’s a growler available for filling, which you can do at The Imperial Bottle Shop on Division Street and at many local breweries and grocery stores nearby.
We love living in the heart of the Richmond neighborhood! Nestled on a quiet, residential street, we're a short stroll (about 1/3mi) to two main restaurant and retail districts of SE Portland. A 4-block walk brings you to a bus stop that can get you most anywhere else in town. A short walk from the studio brings you to food, shopping and entertainment (to name a few of our favorites): PokPok, Salt & Straw, Ava Gene's, Bollywood Theater; Food Cart pods, Little T Bakery, St Honore; A myriad of boutiques, shops and independent movie theaters on Hawthorne, Clinton and Division streets. You'll likely meet some friendly neighborhood cats during your stay, but due to severe allergies, our studio is pet- and allergen-free. You may also spot our eyepatch-wearing, kung fu-performing neighbor (and good friend) practicing in the street, sometimes alongside his 4yo daughter. He’s a world-renowned martial artist and teacher, is super friendly and adds some true Portland character to our otherwise sleepy neighborhood.
  • Words won't even do this place justice, but ill try. From the moment i walked into the studio, i was in love. Head over heels in love. Beautiful, natural light flooding in and touching every corner. The decor and design are so lovely. Melissa has everything you could need - toiletries, kitchen goodies, towels, extra blankets, etc. The bed was so comfortable - i slept a little too long both mornings. The studio is spotless - super super clean! And the location is perfect! absolutely PERFECT! That part of town has quickly become my favorite - such kind people every place i went. The studio is in a really nice, safe neighborhood - perfect for a morning walk. Parking on the street in front of the home is so easy if you have a car. A ton of restaurants and shops are only a few minutes away (easily walkable to a lot of fun places). Melissa had WONDERFUL communication! She was so helpful, kind and attentive to any needs i had (although i had NONE, she covered everything!!). She left a food guide of her favorite dining spots which was so helpful for me. Harlow was my favorite place to eat :) Honestly, i wish i could just rent this studio and live here - it was that incredible! This place was such a sweet haven and the garden area was so picturesque and perfect. I wish i could have spent more time in the little garden nook on the side of the studio. It was the perfect spot for morning tea and just feeling inspired by the space and the beautiful feel of the portland air. This place is an absolute treasure and had such a warm, healing touch that i wasn't expecting. Waking up to the beautiful view from the french doors is something that i will always remember! Thank you Melissa for creating such an incredible space for me to feel relaxed, refreshed and inspired. Please please please don't miss out on experiencing the beauty of this place! You won't regret it!

  • Great place to stay, good location. safe and easy to walk to a lot of neat and varied eateries. As advertised the place was sunny in a beautiful garden setting. We could not have stayed in a better place or had nicer hosts. Overall great experience definitely recommend this as the place to stay in Portland.

    Lois2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • First Airbnb experience and it was amazing!!!! Place was exactly as described and shown in the pictures. Melissa was more than helpful with everything and thought of the tiniest details that made our stay so comfy. The area was great lots of nearby shops and restaurants to walk to. Hope my future Airbnb's lodgings are as great as this one.

    Ale2016-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a treat to have landed such a beautiful space. My husband and I were amazed how Melissa provided so many special details from the welcome letter, fresh flowers, Portland coffee and chocolate bar, great reading material and a special Bristol garden where we had dinner. What amazed us the most was how clean the place was and I am talking from baseboards to the top. The location was absolutely perfect. We parked our car and used public transportation. What a beautiful place. No need to check any other place to stay in all of Portland.. Doesn't get any better than this. Be sure to book more days than you originally plan to because you will not want to leave this little slice of heaven

    Devorah2016-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lives up to all the 5 star reviews. Great location, easily accessible, quiet and private but also close to restaurants, shops, bars and nightlife. Would definitely return for another stay!

    Matt2017-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • The space is beautifully decorated, cozy, and fully stocked with all the amenities you need. My favorite part of the day was sipping some delicious local coffee that Melissa graciously provided while soaking up the morning sunshine on the private back patio. The charming neighborhood is quiet yet within walking distance to several shops and restaurants. It's also easily accessible to the TriMet bus system. I highly recommend this space to singles or couples traveling to Portland. You won't be disappointed.

  • This place was one of the best AirBNBs I have stayed in! Perfect sized studio with high ceilings that help to make it not look like a studio. The location was perfect. I could get great coffee, food, and spirits all within a 2 minute walk from the place. The toaster oven was great, blender was amazing and the French press was a perfect touch. Anastasia is a great host, I did a 60 day long term stay and she was always attentive, thoughtful and quick to respond. If I come back to Portland I'll be trying to stay here again!

A quiet, cozy bedroom & bathroom on the ground floor of a beautiful, modern new home in a verdant, friendly Southeast Portland neighborhood. Enthusiastic greeting by very friendly dogs & cat comes standard!
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE REQUESTING ACCOMMODATION. As a courtesy to our guests, our check-in time is 2:00 pm; however, as we both work weekdays, we cannot have the rooms ready until 5:30 or so. What this means is that our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in their living room or just drop their bags off and head out exploring, but they won't be able to rest their weary heads or hit the showers until we've had a chance to get home and tidy up. (PLEASE NOTE: This listing highlights the primary guest bedroom available, but for parties of 3 or 4 people, we do have a secondary bedroom that also features a queen-sized bed. If you are making a reservation for two people and you wish to book both bedrooms, PLEASE EXPLICITLY TELL US SO, as the default for two guests is ONE bedroom; for a two-guest reservation, the cost will be the listed room rate + $30/night. All guests share the same bathroom.) There is almost an entire floor available in our newish home smack-dab in the heart of fun, accessible Southeast Portland! This means that our guest(s) get not only their own quiet bedroom, but also a private full bathroom AND their own nicely-appointed living room (please note: the first-floor living room is NOT private, as it does not have a ceiling and is the way between the front door of the house and the stairs to the second floor). We are steps away from a frequent-service bus line, a terrific sandwich shop that's open for breakfast, lunch AND dinner, a pizza joint, a Starbucks, and, best of all, a Trader Joe's! The house is about two miles south of the trendy Hawthorne district, one mile south of nationally-recognized Division Street, and about four miles east of downtown Portland. The house itself is a beautiful, soaring Doug Fir- and hemlock-constructed dream home decorated with one-of-kind glass art pieces and potted succulents. Our guests have access to our fabulous kitchen in addition to their own first-floor amenities. We have a very friendly housecat you will likely meet during your stay, but the guest bedroom and guest bathroom doors are kept closed for the comfort of allergen-sensitive guests. We also have two friendly dogs who will greet you eagerly upon your arrival, but who otherwise spend their time hanging out with us and don't wander much to the guest floor. Lastly, to our guests during the colder months: the guest floor tends to be the coolest in the house, and we provide space heaters and afghans for your comfort, but we figure we should let you know ahead of time that if you run cold, ours may not be the ideal place for your stay.
Our neighborhood is so great! We are really close to several cool Portland hubs, but we're on a relatively quiet residential street so we truly have the best of all worlds.
  • My husband and I stayed with Brad & Becca for 4 nights, having arrived late the first night. Getting in was easy and the room is exactly as described. Parking is ample on the street. Carlos, their dog, was super friendly and greeted us every time we got home. The bedroom door was a little creaky, which made me feel bad when I used the bathroom at night, but that's an easy enough fix. Would stay again!

    Christina2014-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca were welcoming hosts, I appreciated the use of the kitchen for a light supper. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. Brad's mixed media map of Portland is a wonderful welcome, and helpful to plan a visit! Thank you!

  • Becca and Brad were very welcoming to their lovely home. The space was exactly as described - clean and cozy. They had a really cool crafty map of the city with their recommended restaurants/treats/locales. Carlos the dog was very friendly and adorable. We highly recommend their home for anyone looking to stay in Portland. Thank you, Becca and Brad!

Buckman is a close in SE Portland neighborhood which is an increasingly popular place to live. The apartment is at the eastern end of the neighborhood. There are parks, a picturesque cemetery, good restaurants, wine bars, craft brewing pubs and the Laurelhurst movie theater, all within walking distance. The #15 bus line runs to downtown on the other side of the cemetery (6 blocks). A little further afield (just over a mile) is the Hawthorne district where there are some off beat shops and more places to eat and drink. Downtown is 2 miles away. The apartment is part of a new build and is situated at the rear of the property next to the garden It is one story up (over the garage) and receives a lot of natural light. It is fully self-contained, all appliances are new which makes self-catering very easy. What it lacks in history it more than makes up for in convenience! There is also ample free street parking directly outside the house. Buckman is pretty close to downtown while still having a residential flavor. It also contains a number of agreeable restaurants, wine bars and brewpubs. Everyday shopping needs such as grocery stores are also well served. Additionally it is pretty easy to get to the major freeways for travel purposes. Buses run to downtown and back a few blocks over.
  • Lovely stay. The studio was beautifully appointed, quiet, and super clean. Was in town for a week long business meeting and this was the perfect place. Wireless network worked super fast. I wish I had had more time to explore the neighborhood. Will likely be back in Portland again this year and hope to stay again.

    Claire2016-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience at Cara and Roger's studio was great! The place was immaculate yet cozy, and the location was perfectly central in SE. They even went above and beyond to accommodate our exceptionally early check in, which made things that much smoother. Would absolutely stay again!

  • Nice neighbourhood, walking distance to lots of restaurants. A short drive or über to downtown made it super convenient! Place was well equipped with everything one might need. Would definitely stay again!

  • We found the neighborhood to be pretty centrally located in a quiet residential area. There are some restaurants nearby but you'll have to walk, drive or ride to the more busy stretches. We didn't have a car so it was a 30 minute walk to Hawthorne Street and about an hour walk to Downtown or Alberta Arts District. The apartment was set up with all the amenities you could need on your trip (washer/dryer, dishwasher, umbrellas, maps, guide books, wifi) and is very lovely in appearance. To note, the apartment is above the garage so be prepared to hear a fairly loud mechanical noise several times a day, including earlier in the morning. All in all, we would definitely recommend your stay here!

  • This place is beautiful, immaculately clean and very convenient.

  • My boyfriend and I LOVED our stay at Cara's apartment! It was a very clean, comfortable space equipped with new-looking fixtures and appliances, and we really appreciated the thoughtful, homey little touches like fresh ground coffee and cream waiting for us upon arrival. Because the apartment was over the garage and separate from the house, we really felt like we had our own "space" to relax while we were there, which is always nice when you're exploring a new city. Additionally, it's located in a beautiful residential neighborhood fairly close to the fun shops, restaurants, & bars of the Hawthorne district. In short, it was perfect for us! I would book this place again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone!

  • This was absolutely the best possible place to stay while in preparation mode for my daughter's wedding. If I'm lucky enough that this lovely, sparkling new & clean studio apartment is available on my visits to Portland in the future, it will be my go-to place for a home-away-from-home. Everything that I needed was provided - GREAT kitchen! TERRIFIC bed! - and Cara and her husband were welcoming hosts. MANY THANKS! Su (Phone number hidden by Airbnb)

  • We had a great time in Portland and Cara was an excellent host.the area is very convient with great parking and the apartment is lovely. Cara and Roger have provided everything you could possibly need and were very attentive. It was especially helpful to have a washer and dryer in the studio apartment.

Bright and clean private bedroom just one block off of Mississippi St. district in N. Portland. Minutes from downtown via bike, light rail or car. Easy access to/from the Airport too! Five years in and our five star rating is going strong!
This home is clean, quiet, creative and perfectly situated for an amazingly rich and convenient Portland experience. With a comfortable Queen bed (fits 2), wood floors, ample closet space, garden views and adjacent shared bathroom, you'll feel right at home. Please note that we ask our guests to limit bathroom visits to 15 minutes (especially in the morning) as this space shares a bathroom with an additional Airbnb room. Full access to kitchen, living room with fireplace, and landscaped garden patio with raised beds and seating. The home is full of plants and art from around the world. No pets/Allergen free! The Mississippi St. district is the place to be! Amazing restaurants, food carts, bars, breweries and stellar music venues are literally a minutes walk from the front door. NOT an easy place to get bored! Parking is easy in this safe neighborhood. The MAX light rail system has a stop just minutes away (walking) that can shoot you downtown or drop you off from the airport. Please note that our close proximity to the I-5 freeway does provide some background noise (not really noticeable inside the house). PLEASE NOTE: Arthur and Adam live in an adjacent building on the property. Audra is our house manager and good friend - and lives on the top floor of this home.
Portland's Historic Mississippi District is definitely where you want to stay when visiting the city. A gorgeous and funky stretch full of great shops, award-winning restaurants, an incredible music venue and amazing bars with outdoor patios and inspiring craft cocktails. SUPER easy to get to other parts of the city from here too!
  • A stylish, arty place in a cool and lively neighborhood.

  • Adam and Arthur were very welcoming. Staying at their home genuinely felt like I was crashing at a friend's house. Everything was very clean, and their home was beautiful. The room had lots of resources like reviews of nearby food places, bike maps, transit information, etc. Overall I had an awesome time exploring Portland, and was very glad to come back in the evenings to such a cozy place.

    Milo2015-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • These guys were so helpful and friendly! When I arrived there was a sign on the door with my name on it :) the house is really clean, cute, and super accessible to downtown. It really contributed to my falling in love with Portland.

  • We absolutely loved every minute of our stay here. The host, Rebecca gave us such a lovely warm welcome and made us feel right at home. It’s immaculately clean with a comfy bed and lovely outdoor seating area to enjoy the sunshine. It’s location is perfect for access to the city by public transport. Portland itself is so quirky and unique and we will definitely be coming back. Thanks you Rebecca, Adam and Arthur for such wonderful hospitality and we hope to return again in the future.

    Martine2018-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Adam and Arthur are so well organized and communicated throughout the whole process. Loved the water fountain sound right outside of window of this Bright and Creative room. Details of this place is very cozy and thoughtful. Had a wonderful night having a drink at the patio at the back. 5minutes walk to Blue Star Donut in the morning for one of the best donuts in town! Highly recommending this listing to everyone on the run!

  • Adam and Arthur are responsive hosts, provide a clean and secure home, and the location is great. Thanks A&A for hosting me!

Light-filled, private 2 story apartment, parking in the driveway, two major bus lines, walking distance to restaurants/bars, shopping & grocery. Separate office area, high-speed internet, great for business travel.
A well-stocked gourmet kitchen, lots of windows to let light in (blackout shade in bedroom to help you sleep!), new comfy pullout sofa, full size washer & dryer, courtyard space outside to chill out, park in the driveway right next to the apartment
The Albert Arts neighborhood has award-winning restaurants, bars and shopping all within walking distance. The apartment is on a major bus line that can get you where you need to go quickly.
  • This place was perfect. Clean, very well designed, walking distance to great restaurants and shops on Alberta. We really enjoyed it.

    Dakota2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place with great location. It’s near Alberta which is an up-and-coming area but it’s in a residential area which makes the place quite peaceful and quiet. Downtown Portland is 10 mins away by drive (without traffic). New Seasons Market (it’s a local Whole Foods-like supermarket chain) is 10 mins walk from the house. Communication with Tommy is easy. We have a problem with the a/c and he got the repairman to fix it right away.

    Natthita2018-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • The place was modern and very clean. The sofa bed was much more comfortable than expected. Check-in was easy through lock code.

    Monica2018-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tommy’s house is super clean. The house is bright and everything is perfect. I’ll definitely stay again if I come back to Portland.

    Qi2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Tommy’s place is amazing! Great value, very close to everything! We did rent a car but found that most uber trips into Downtown and other hot spots were under $10. The apartment looks just like the pictures, very bright, clean, and stylish. Checking in was a breeze! I would highly recommend it and stay in it again! Thanks Tommy!

    Paloma2018-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and clean, great amenities, well-appointed. Fantastic host - quick to respond to messages, had great suggestions and allowed me to make changes to my reservations (I added a guest after I had booked). Great location - easy check-in and check-out!

  • Tommy's place is wonderful. Very charming and new. He is very responsive and attentive. Definitely would stay there again

  • Tommy’s place was so cute and clean, I can’t recommend it enough. It seemed like a very safe area that was close to a lot. It was definitely one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in and I am VERY picky about beds. I even snapped a pic of the tag from the sheets because I WANT THEM!

The bunk room has been created as a nod to the hotel's creation as a safe place for sailors. You'll find the same thing in this space with 18' ceilings- cozy, strong, and comfortable triple bunk beds.
At The Society Hotel, we believe in making every traveler feel authentically connected to our community so they are ready to enjoy our beautiful city from day one. We offer three ways to experience our unique hotel: bunk rooms for the affordable community experience; private rooms with shared bathrooms for comfort without excess; and suites for a bit of affordable luxury. All of our rooms come with plush beds, 10-foot windows, high speed wifi, and a hospitality experience unlike any other.
Old Town is Portland's oldest neighborhood - the original epicenter of Portland, Oregon. It has a colorful history and an equally colorful present! We are the epicenter of Portland's street fashion scene, the nightlife district, as well as a social services haven for those most in need. So expect an eclectic mix from Old Town, and hopefully love it as much as we do!
  • very friendly hosts. the bed was very comfy and the room was quiet. amenities are superb! the location is just perfect. relly enjoyed the stay!

  • I had a really nice stay at the society hotel. For a hostel style sleeping arrangement it was very comfortable and clean. The location in Portland was convenient and the staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again!

    Mia2016-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Was fun! Cool idea/nice set up. Went as a single female and never felt uncomfortable! Would go again

    Kaki2018-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience! Thanks.

    Marcos2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • I could not have been happier with my experience at The Society Hotel. Everyone was just so unbelievably welcoming, helpful, and friendly. I got there before the check-in time but they allowed me to check my bags in. One of the ladies who immediately noticed that I was carrying a high-end travel/duffle bag, reassured me that it would be kept safe. She was so sweet. Transportation from airport to hotel: - It's super cheap and easy to get to the hotel from the airport. You take the MAX red line straight to Chinatown and you walk about 2 blocks (like 2-3 minutes) to the hotel. I think it was about $2.50? The room: - I was in the bunks. I fell in love with their beds. Hands down, one of the top 3 MOST COMFORTABLE BEDS I've ever slept on. For a room that accommodated so many people, I was surprised that it was so quiet. Location: Because it's close to a homeless shelter, it's not the safest part of town, but as long as you have common sense, and you're not wandering about on the streets alone at like 2am, you're good. During the weekends, there are a lot of people walking around (going and coming back from bars/clubs) so it feels pretty safe. If you don't mind doing some walking, I was able to walk to Powell's Books, Rose Test Gardens, Japanese Garden, Saturday Market, and lots of eateries in the Pearl District(?). If you don't like to walk, you can get to all those places for probably less than $5 with Uber or public transportation... and a lot of other places on the other side of town for a $7-8 Uber ride. If you have some time, get a cocktail at the cafe and head to the rooftop. I got myself an old-fashioned (SO GOOD) and just chilled on the roof for like 30 minutes and it was really relaxing. Like I mentioned before, the entire staff is INCREDIBLY NICE. If you need advice on where to go, they're there to help you. If you're traveling solo and you just want someone to talk to, they're there to talk. If you're hungover and in dire need of water, Ty (I believe that was his name) is there to cover you. I felt like I was going to die Sunday morning and Ty was just SUPER sweet. He brought me a cup of water to my bunk. I was so touched. Anything else you need to know, I believe it's all covered in the other reviews. I'm pretty sure I don't need to mention this but this place is just all kinds of amazing and I will definitely come back to to this hotel if I'm ever in Portland again.

    Christina2016-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • The bunk house was a great value. Bed was very comfortable. Bedding and towels were clean and new. Other guests in the bunk house were respectful and quiet at all times during the day. Bathrooms had toiletries and a built in hair dryer. There is a large fridge to store food. A sink to wash dishes and also a small faucet that has very hot water for instant coffee or oatmeal. Great location close to everything in the city aside from the many homeless people in the area.

    Marci2017-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • I was overjoyed with my stay! I was confused with the Air BnB method of listing the bunks by letters and not by top/middle/bottom bunks, but that was quickly solved at check-in... They simply gave me a choice from what was available! Had a top bunk, but I don't think there's a "bad" spot in the place. Each bunk is roomy, but cocoon-like in its comfort. The headboard storage compartment was a surprise and a delight! Bring two padlocks if you feel you want to keep stuff stored in both the headboard and the assigned cubby. The staff are incredible, and it felt like going home each night, rather than going back to a sterile hotel room. Will definitely stay at the Society Hotel again.

The housing was very beautifully updated, comfortable, and large for 1-2 people. I highly recommend staying here! It was a perfect location and a great way to experience Portland! I definitely hope to come back again soon!

  • We had a very enjoyable stay. Jere's place is spacious and cozy for a couple. Good location (within walking distance to the Nike factory store, about 10min-drive to downtown, and with some nice restaurants nearby). Would stay here again if we have the pleasure to return to the Rose City.

  • Excellent value. Big room, double sink, awesome shower. So many toiletries , snacks , coffee, little fridge, microwave. Bed was comfy, room very clean. Location was perfect. Walking wasn’t a problem for us, maybe too long for some into downtown... but Uber’s were only a couple dollars around town and we rented a car (street parking not a problem). Room has separate entrance in Home ... Jere was traveling so her sister Susan accommodated our needs and she was super nice and responsive! Highly recommend!

  • Sara's small house was a great spot for me and my partner to stay while we spent the weekend in Portland! It was well stocked with the necessities and we had great communication up to and during our stay. The house is at an intersection so we got occasional music from people's cars, but Sara also had earplugs readily available beside the bed.

  • Ok if you’re looking at this space just book it!! Amazingly beautiful space and close to everything you’d want to do here! Trust me when I say this place is worth much more then you’ll spend! You’re walking distance to Mississippi street and Alberta art district which are the newer up and coming places to be. A 10 min Lyft or Uber ride to downtown, and close to much more! On top of that we stayed there at the hottest weekend in Portland and that you to the hosts for putting central ac in the studio and bonus we could control the temp on the nest!!! Y’all are amazing! Would definitely recommend this location, and hope our next Portland adventures brings us back here!

This 3rd floor loft is located in the N. Williams District, on a main bike route, across the street from a bus stop, close to the street car and light rail. It is an eclectic 900 sqft self contained unit with amazing views on the top floor of a 1900's Victorian. This stretch of Williams Ave has a more industrial feel but we are just a few blocks from eateries & libations. Walk to the Convention Center, Moda Center and the Pearl District.
-The view is amazing. -Efficiency style open kitchen with 2 stove top burners, toaster oven, french press, cookware, full dishware & glassware plus a real fridge with freezer. -comfy queen bed & nice Egyptian cotton sheets -new heating system with Air Conditioning! -2 wifi networks -a slew of information & maps on Portland & surrounding areas such as the Columbia Gorge, Oregon Coast, wine country etc. -Walk to the heart of the Williams District -Walk to the convention Center & Moda -Walk into the Pearl District (20min.)
Building on its reputation for bicycles, beers and brunch, the Williams District has evolved into a dynamic, must-see destination for locals and visitors alike. With its broad array of eateries, breweries, characters, shops and services, the district is a veritable composite of all the best Portland has to offer. The Williams District includes more than 150 businesses and is also defined by its rich cultural history. In the 1940s and ’50s, Williams Avenue was teeming with jazz clubs and speakeasies. Today located just down the street is the historic Billy Webb elks lodge. On a Friday or Saturday night it is not rare to sit on the deck and hear the DJ spinning.
  • I had a great stay at Tyra's loft. The place was clean, had lots of character and the bed was very comfy. The location was fantastic and communicating with Tyra was smooth and hospitable.

    Jasmine2014-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Tyra was the perfect host! From the moment we confirmed our reservation, Tyra was quick to respond, super communicative throughout our stay and sent me a bunch of recommendations without me even asking! She even left a local cider chilling in the fridge to welcome our arrival - talk about hospitality :) The loft is a dream and the view from the patio is gorgeous - just like the pictures! Tyra left plenty of local magazines and guides to help us find the cool things to do around Portland. On the night we arrived, we walked a quick 10 minutes up the street to the Williams District and grabbed a drink at a cozy lil cocktail bar called Box Social (highly recommend their grilled cheese & tomato soup!). I'd stay in Tyra's loft again, without hesitation. Thank you Tyra for being a great host!

    Gina2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • It was a pleasure to stay at Tyra's place. Her communication from the beginning was thorough and clear. We had no difficulty finding the place, parking, and getting in, thanks to the clear instructions. The apartment itself was excellent: large, very clean, and well appointed. Small details were taken care of: clean towels in the bathroom, good directions on how to use the heater, a french press and coffee grounds, tons of maps of the area. It's a pity we arrived at nighttime, because the view from the deck is wonderful. Enjoyed having morning coffee out there despite the cold and mist. VERY convenient location for quick and easy access to downtown, and walking distance to the Wonder Ballroom, where we took in a concert. Checkout was simple and convenient. We would certainly stay here again.

  • Though we did not get to meet Tyra, she was very quick to reply to messages. The loft was as described, well located and comfortable. Thanks for providing us an enjoyable stay in Portland !

  • The space is great! The loft is secure with a private keypad and it looks nice. It is about 10 minutes to downtown Portland and 15 minutes to places further south. I would recommend using Lyft or Uber because the area can be a bit sketchy, but the place itself is safe. Would stay again!

    Hunter2018-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • We highly recommend Tyra's place. She had everything we needed. The loft has an amazing view of the city and is a good central location.

  • Tyra's place was such a great find - it was super close to the convention centre and convenient for getting to the city and airport. It was also much cheaper than local hotels, with lots of home from home touches. It was so easy communicating with Tyra and she always responded quickly and with the info and help, I needed! Tyra has clearly thought about what visitors will find useful, from a couple snacks on arrival to LOADS of magazines and brochures for trip planning. She also had fab recommendations for local eats/drinks - Sizzle Pie and Rev Nats Cider were big hits for me. I never heard the neighbours and the construction next door really didn't bother us but she left us ear plugs in case! Definitely recommend to solo, business and couple travellers! (Unless you can't live without a TV - there isn't one, just great magazines, books and WIFI!)

  • Perfect location (about a 10 minutes drive from Pearl). Cute loft with a comfortable bed and quirky furniture. The heating system worked great; kept us nice and warm during the Portland winter.

I'm offering a comfortable clean bedroom in the best neighborhood in Portland. Self check in so late night arrivals are no problem. On all major bus lines. New Seasons market one block away and 20+ restaurants in a 15 block radius. Free street parking. LGBTQ friendly. 3 small dogs live here so if you don't love dogs, this is not the place for you.
I'm offering a bedroom in my four bedroom home on the main floor right next to the shared bathroom. The bed is a comfy queen size. My home has a back porch with a cozy deck for eating breakfast and sipping coffee and a picnic area under the arbor for dinner and relaxing. The dogs can be a bit intense, but Rocky is always down for a head scratch.
Dozens of excellent restaurants within walking distance of the house. Two grocery stores within 4 blocks. Major bus lines will take you downtown in ten minutes. Our neighborhood is quiet and clean in the heart of Portland's biking community. We're also within walking distance to the Aladdin Theater so come see a show while you're here!
  • Kara was a great host. She over communicated, provided great suggestions on things to do, and was very friendly. The bed slept well and the room was more than enough space for what I needed. Good experience

    Sal2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Kara’s place was exactly how you would imagine. My late check-in was no inconvenience to her. She was very helpful with local tips, hot tea, and an umbrella for the freezing rain. I would recommend her to any and all lonely travelers!

    Marica2017-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Very pleasant house in a nice neighborhood. Kara was welcoming and even let me store my bike in the garage.

    Brandon2015-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a marvellous time at Kara. We arrived after a long transatlantic flight and were warmly welcome. Kara was full of information about places to go, eat and drink. Our room was spacious and comfy. The area was pretty and felt safe. I loved the little dogs! Thank you Kara for hosting us- we will definitely stay with you again next time!

    Heike2015-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Kara's house was great - the picture's didn't do it justice! It was very clean and comfortable. We didn't stay long, but Kara an inviting host, and her cousin Sara was very helpful with advice about the city.

    Becki2015-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • The host had a binder that had the perfect amount information you could ever need for the immediate area. Parking was readily available, plenty of places to eat/drink within a short walk.

    David2016-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Kara was very accommodating and welcoming. My friend and I appreciated her accommodations. Everything was super easy. Tons of wonderful places to explore by foot! Definitely recommend!

    Jessi2016-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Kara's location really is perfect - walkable to many locations, close to public transportation, and quiet at night. Hawthorne Blvd nearby was my favorite area of the city. Kara is wonderfully nice as are her other roommates, though our interaction with them was limited. The house was clean the the bed was extremely comfortable, leading to us getting a great nights sleep most nights and being ready to explore the city in the morning. I was 100% satisfied with my stay and would come back in a heartbeat. The only caveat I feel compelled to include is that the house can be a touch noisy during the day, mostly on account of the dogs. They are fine and sweet once you are inside but they do bark at anyone who walks by, so they could be a disturbance is you are a daytime napper. Overall this is a minor complaint, though, and the rest of the conveniences make up for it.

Seen on the TV show "Tiny House Nation", CNN, Food & Wine Magazine, and the NY Post, the 350 sq ft Rustic Modern Tiny House was designed and built by us, your friendly AirBNB hosts. Guests call it "completely charming" and "the perfect urban getaway". Welcome! M+J
For years we've been daydreaming about building a little house one day. Then we finally made it happen - using our own two hands (DIY! The Portland way!) and with the help of some great friends. We had a vision in mind, but a lot of the details came together as we built, based on what materials we had available to us. Downstairs is the kitchen, living room with convertible couch, and bathroom with tiny clawfoot tub. Access the upstairs via STAIRS (not a ladder), where you'll find our loft bedroom with comfortable queen sized bed. Sustainable design is important to us, and the house is constructed and furnished from an eclectic array of reclaimed materials - squirreled away over the years, and now creatively reused and repurposed. See photo captions for a detailed walkthrough of the house. A PARTIAL SNAPSHOT • The trim and shelves are reclaimed from an old shed that used to be on the property. • Teak hardwood flooring, cedar shake siding - salvaged from high-end construction jobs. • The wood-clad windows salvaged from a horse farm in the Oregon countryside. • The kitchenette stove/refrigerator sourced from the Hood River History Museum. Instagram: @rusticmoderntiny
We love our walk/bike friendly N. Williams Ave neighborhood - it's been getting a lot of media attention as one of Portland's hottest neighborhoods. You are one block from the main corridor, bustling with award-winning restaurants, bars, coffee shops, wine bars, bakeries, yoga studios, and indie boutiques - it seems there's something new every week. Sunset Magazine loves its “low-key urban vibe", past guests call our neighborhood "awesome", "amazing" and "full of things to do". Our street has even made an appearance or two on the TV show Portlandia.
  • I had a lovely stay at the tiny house. The location was perfect, a short walk to the office and a block away a street full of restaurants, bars, and coffee, but still quiet and private. The house had everything I needed. There's no extra space, but it's a comfortable spot nonetheless. The hosts responded to questions quickly with friendly notes.

    Matt2016-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful little house! It was absolutely perfect for us as a home base to explore Portland. Great location and oh so cozy. Thanks so much for letting us stay here!

    Tyler2013-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house was a unique little spot for a weekend in Portland. Things we loved: 1. The neighborhood! Walking distance to all the essentials - good lunch spot (Lardo was extra yummy), organic grocery store, coffee lounge and cocktail spot. 2. The character of the place. The design and charm made it truly one of a kind. 3. The availability of bikes and outside patio. Like Jenny and Michael describe, the place is called the tiny house for a reason. There is certain functionality that is lost due to the size. I would recommend a weekend but no longer. Thanks for a unique portland experience Michael and Jenny!

    Adam&Jax2014-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Rustic Modern Tiny House was a perfect place to stay in Portland, close to nice streets for eating and shopping and easy to get downtown on the bus. It had everything we needed for our week-long stay and was very comfortable. Michael and Jenna gave us all the information we needed before we arrived so everything went smoothly. Thanks! It's a fantastic place and I would definitely recommend it!

    Kirsten2016-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • I would absolutely recommend this tiny home! My husband and I came to Portland for a much needed vacation. The neighborhood and city are great, but we primarily wanted a place we could hang out and watch a movie and avoid work stresses. This is the perfect place. It was quiet, comfortable, had all the amenities of a hotel, but felt like home. I would absolutely recommend!

    Lindsay2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing stay. If you are looking for a great experience in an amazing neighborhood I highly suggest using Michael and Jenna really great Tiny Home

    Jon2017-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • After spending a week in this rustic modern tiny house, I am absolutely in love with it! It was a perfect place to stay in so many ways: easy walk to several awesome areas, easy to get to public transport, good practice for tiny living (since I was in PDX for a workshop to learn about building tiny houses!), so cozy and well stocked for daily needs, such thoughtful beautiful house details. As a first-time visitor to PDX traveling on my own, I especially appreciated Michael and Jenny's heartwarming hospitality--so many great recommendations, plus thoughtful check-ins to make sure my stay was going just right. They rock, and the tiny house rocks!

    Jessica2013-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is as beautiful as it looks in the pictures. We loved it here and would stay again. Michael and Jenny were communicative and helpful hosts.

  • Great little place to stay! Clean comfortable and a quiet. A safe residential neighborhood very quick walk to bus lines/ public transport.

    Hilary2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a wonderful experience! Everything from the adorable private entryway, to the amenities, and the walkability of the neighborhood was as described in the listing- and even better! We truly enjoyed the space, which was aesthetically pleasing and spotless. Perfect for two people. The bed was really comfortable and the 3 heaters worked perfectly and kept us warm and cozy. Loved the travel guide books that were thoughtfully provided. Can not think of a single negative thing to say about our stay. The neighborhood is beautiful and one of the nicer ones in the area. I felt very safe walking around by myself while my husband was off skateboarding. Quick walk to Hawthorne and Division, great nightlife and food. Did not see the owners at all and we were happy with the privacy afforded to us. Honestly we were sad to leave!

    Erin2016-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our host emailed instructions for entry, since we arrived in the evening. He also emailed us during the visit to ask if we needed anything. We met Sari on the last day as we were leaving. The hosts were very unobtrusive, but we knew they were close by if we needed anything. The apt. was exactly as listed, and we literally did not need to contact the hosts for anything during the stay.

    Susan2016-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Ed and Sari's place was very well kept, beautifully put together, and they were very accommodating. We enjoyed our stay very much, and will be back again!

Ed and Sari's studio helped make a special weekend for us even better. Would highly recommend Ed and Sari's place to anyone visiting Portland!

Our home is beautifully situated across from a quiet park. We are located just a couple blocks walk to restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and bus stops on trendy Hawthorne and Division streets.
Our one bedroom, 500 square-foot basement apartment is lovingly decorated in the Northwest Style with touches of Scandinavia. The apartment has separate entrance for your privacy. The bedroom has a queen bed with cozy, fluffy featherbed comforters. The living room has a sofa that converts to double bed with bedding provided. We also have a queen futon available for parties over 4 people. It’s a bit tight for 6 people, but it is possible! We have a little kitchenette with sink, refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker with complimentary coffee. The bathroom has a bath/shower combo with all the essentials provided. We have a television that picks up a few stations, but we do not have cable. Our location is ideal for foodies who want to walk to popular restaurants on SE Hawthorne and SE Division streets. We are directly across the street from a park. The Hawthorne bus (#14) is just 1.5 blocks away and will get you downtown within 10 minutes. We also are walking distance to grocery stores, movie theaters, shops, breweries and pubs. Our neighborhood is quiet at night, so we ask that there be no noise after 10:00pm. We are an early-to-bed, early-to-rise family (up at 5:00am) so you may hear us above in the morning.
We are ideally situated between the popular Hawthorne and Division streets. We are 2.5 blocks from the nearest bus stop and are walking distance to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, movie theaters. Best of all we are located right across the street from a park. There is ample parking as well.
  • Jennifer's place is located conveniently off SE Hawthorne Blvd, where there are many shops and restaurants. The house itself is in a quiet neighborhood, with a nice park just opposite the house! The place is super clean and quiet, just as described. Check in was easy. Definitely recommend!

    Sara2018-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer's spot was perfect for us -- great location near a bunch of shops and food that we wanted to check out. It was super clean and a perfect basement apartment with a comfy bed and everything else you'd need. Check-in / out was easy and Jennifer was very communicative. Thanks!

    Jordan2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer's apartment is situated in a very nice neighborhood of beautiful Portland. We walked less than 5 minutes to the next restaurant and grocery store. The apartment is very nice and upscale. We loved staying there.

    Jan2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our two night stay. Apartment looked better then the pictures. It was very clean and we had enough space to store our luggage. Havibg a washing machine and a dryer was a big bonus: after traveling around for more then a week, we were happy to do some laundry. By foot and bus, it took us 30 minutes to get downtown (2.50 each, no change), but we mainly stayed close to the house, Division St and Hawthorne St were the best for eating, drinking and watching the locals. One thing to keep in mind: the apartment upstairs is rented sometimes and you can hear these guest's footsteps and talking. Not a problem, just something you should know. Would definitely return, highly recommended!

    Femke2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • The room is spacious, bright and in a quiet neighbor. The bed and linens are super comfy! The bathroom is modern and clean. Jennifer was quick to respond to any questions. We had a great stay and recommend.

The restaurants and shops of Alberta St. are in walking distance (about 20mins, or a few minutes on the bus), and it is close to the airport. Melissa provided great suggestions on what to do in the city and was quick to help us with any problem. She is everything we could wish for in a host, highly recommend!!

    Alexander2017-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a beautifully designed and comfortable space! It's full of thoughtful aesthetic touches, and plenty of amenities that add extra comfort and convenience. Check-in was simple and instructions and communication were clear. My partner and I spent most of our time exploring the city so we didn't truly get to take advantage of all of the amenities, but it was great coming home to this place with all of its style and comfort. An easy walk to some great bars and shops as well. Would love to return!

  • I had a wonderful stay at Roland's loft. The location is close to fantastic eateries and shops, in a safe and friendly neighborhood. The space has a lovely balcony and had all the amenities I needed and more. Roland is a very welcoming and easy going host, I would definitely stay here again!

    Valerie2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Roland was a great host! He was so sweet to take me in with such short notice. The loft picture he has posted does not do it justice. It was a very cute and comfortable room with a balcony upstairs. Thank you again Roland!

    Karen2015-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is an older classic home, with the attic masterfully converted into sleeping/living space. We especially appreciated the jacuzzi tub and outside balcony. Roland made us feel like we were part of his extended "family", and we're looking forward to next time!

    Don2018-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Nice loft apartment, very private. Roland is one of the nicest guys I've met through Air BnB or otherwise. Friendly and helpful. Location convenient to downtown, I walked it a couple of times. Close enough if you have the time, three miles...I didn't have a car, but there is off street parking. Loved the Jacuzzi tub, used it daily! Really nice stay, will stay again if the need arises. Thanks, Roland.

  • Roland was an incredibly nice and friendly host! He had a pool in the backyard and I had a nice evening relaxing in the pool after a long day. His place is located SUPER close to Division st. where there is a lot happening. When I was leaving, I had an extremely tight schedule and was not sure if I would make my flight, so Roland was nice enough to drive me there! Really nice person and will definitely stay with him again, next time I'm in Portland.

Lovely 2 br. cottage nestled beside a pond w water feature. Kitchen, open sleeping loft with skylights, bath w shower and washer/dryer. Lots of natural light. Can accommodate an entire family comfortably. Private entry on lg. lot through gated backyard.
Nestled in the back corner of a large lot under the canopy of a beautiful mimosa tree, this private cottage offers a full kitchen with sit-up bar, a full bath with a washer/dryer, and a sleeping loft with crow's nest. It's perfect for a couple, two couples, or a small family.
And all of this just 15 minutes from downtown.
  • Cute place in a great location for our needs. Host was nice and communicated promptly.

    Lorraine2018-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our hosts were reliably communicative in the time leading up to our visit and accommodating to any requests we made. The cottage was perfect for us in terms of space and allowed for a bit of privacy. It was nice to come 'home' to after a long, busy day.

    Yvette2016-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was such a cozy place to stay during the cold, icy Portland winter conditions that we stumbled into during our stay. The cottage was super cozy and private. The beds were comfortable and the coffee left for us was delicious!

  • The cottage was so cute and comfortable and relaxing! We wish we could have stayed longer!

  • My husband and I and our 5 year old had a great stay at this charming little cottage. Lots of character and the beds were especially comfy. Cute little neighborhood and a great location for our time in Portland.

    Samantha2018-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Serene Cottage is a great place to stay, full of privacy and beauty, centrally located in one of Portland's most family based neighborhoods, and just a few blocks in every direction from great restaurants and things to do. Jack and Cris are wonderful hosts dedicated to making every stay enjoyable. We would love to return to the Serene Cottage.

    Matt2018-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jack and Cris are fantastic at communicating. I never got a chance to meet them, but check in was smooth upon our late arrival. The cottage is situated in the most dreamy setting and has top knotch amenities. Stay for a night or a week, you won't regret it!

Spacious bedroom with clawfoot tub/shower bathroom in a beautiful 1927 craftsman home. Located a quick 5 miles north of downtown, we are 10 minutes miles to the Yellow Max & across the street from #75 bus both of which have you downtown in about 30-35 minutes. Parking is very easy to find on the streets that surround the house. We are LGBTQ and 420 friendly (outside only). A friendly, quiet dog lives here.
Our home runs on 100% renewable energy but we even provide a portable A/C when high temps exceed 80 degrees. Guests have told us the queen bed is extremely comfortable and the blackout blinds make it feel like you could sleep all day. Seasonally adjusted duvets keep you comfortable year-round. Extra seating gives you space to enjoy the TV equipped with Netflix, Hulu Plus and Amazon Prime or maybe even read a book! This bedroom is on the main floor of our home and has a bathroom with clawfoot tub and shower with hair dryer, basic amenities and room for your gear. You may have light use of our kitchen (easy breakfasts and warming leftovers - no frying or baking).
Our neighborhood is diverse and friendly with quaint vintage shops, quirky bars and excellent restaurants. It is conveniently located near I-5 and public transport. We have a 87 point walkscore and are considered a biking paradise! Just 5 miles north of Downtown and nestled in the historic Kenton community close to shops and dining, we are within easy walking distance to public transit (Yellow Max line and several buses) and a 10-30 minute car ride downtown with great N/S-bound freeway access (depending upon traffic). We are 25-35 minutes away from downtown by bus or Yellow Max train line. Both are within six blocks of the house with a bus stop less than a block away.
  • We felt comfortable and welcomed. Maylene and Charity were great and clear with communications and although we arrived late, no problem accessing our room. Despite the heat wave the weekend we were visiting, we still were kept comfortable with the overhead ceiling fan. Our room was very homey and although we didn't watch tv, we were impressed that we could have access to Netflix. We would love to return again when coming to visit Portland!

    Mercy2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed with Maylene and Charity already the second time - and there is a reason for this. We just feel super comfy at their place, the ladies are friendly and helpful, easygoing and openminded and absolutely on top of things when it comes to providing a cozy home for a few days in Portland. They even organized snow and a lovely winterland for us this time!! Their house is located in a sweet little neighborhood, close to public transportation and a couple of lovely breakfast places and cafes. We had a wonderful time and will be back for thirds!

    Katia2013-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Charity and Maylene have a beautiful home and they were very helpful and organized with house instructions. Their home is in a great location in Portland and they were very easy to talk to!

    Karissa2014-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home. It was clear to us that Maylene and Charity pay attention to detail, very clean, organized and thought out. We were greeted by hosts upon arrival which made us feel welcomed. My partner and I appreciated access to the kitchen and an open line of communication. Maylene and Charity were very responsive to our texts, within 15 minutes or less. The house guidelines and parking instructions were placed on the dresser in the bedroom. The sheet was easy to miss, which resulted in the neighbors complaining about where we parked. Whatever you do, don't miss reading that sheet! We didn't know it was there until we were asked via text, to move our car. That part was uncomfortable.

  • Excellent stay

    Corey2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • What an awesome stay! Charity and Maylene's home is absolutely gorgeous and welcoming. The comfy beds make it hard for you to get up in the morning and explore~~you could be just as happy sleeping the day away..The home is in a nice neighborhood and very close to public transportation, and bonus~~ this awesome Cajun soul food restaurant just 2 blocks away that serve the best hushpuppies, fried chicken, and red beans and rice :) I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

    Stacy2013-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Maylene and Charity are very friendly and welcoming hosts. The accommodation was very clean, comfortable and situated in a good location just a few blocks from a streetcar station. I would come back any time!

    Andreas2013-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Maylene and Charity are incredible hosts. Not only was the room exactly what I expected, but the house is beautiful and so comfortable. I immediately felt at home. They were warm and welcoming, offered some suggestions for places to walk for breakfast and coffee, but offered enough space to the guests that it still felt private. I will absolutely stay here on a return visit to Portland. Oh! And I highly recommend walking 4 blocks to Posies for your coffee and morning snack. A perfect way to start each morning.

Private and Modern. Studio bungalow sleeps three with full kitchen and bathroom. Laundry en suite makes this a great space. Located through a fenced yard. Conveniently located near MLK and a short walk to Killingsworth andAlberta streets.
  • Eduardo's property was amazing and had everything we needed. The kitchen was definitely useful for prepping our food for our camping trip right after!

  • Great place to stay! Loved it! Thank you.

    Hannah2016-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Eduardo’s place is spectacular. All the amenities you’ll need and fun walks to thriving neighborhoods make it a must stay place.

    Tracy2018-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed in Eduardo's tiny-home/bungalow for a ten-week clinical rotation at Legacy Emanuel hospital in NE Portland. The house and Eduardo's hospitality exceeded my expectations. He was sure to consistently check-in on me and ask if there was anyway he could make my stay better. The house is exactly as advertised. Actually, it's more spacious than the pictures portray. 10/10 recommend staying in this home and renting from Eduardo no matter how long your stay is.

    Ryan2018-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This home was by far the nicest and cleanest place we've stayed in. What we expected is what we received. Eduardo was a great host. We didn't have any issues finding parking and the home was a short Uber/Lyft into downtown. Would recommend and stay again.

    Sasha2018-04-26T00:00:00Z

Cute little Tiny House! It used to be our boys' fort when they were young, now it is a comfortable little retreat for adventurers exploring Portland!
Cute little back yard "granny flat" cottage located near Mt Tabor park in very desirable neighborhood! The cottage is "Portland Style" construction with excellent insulation (R30), new windows, etc.. Great host, free internet, parking, furnished living space that is quite private.. The cottage contains an upstairs bedroom & sitting area. Note: There are steep stairs, so please take that into account ~ if you have joint pain, etc. this might not be the best choice of places to stay... The QUEEN size mattress is new and comfortable. Downstairs there is a small kitchen with stove, microwave and under the counter fridge. Also downstairs is a full bath with ceramic tile shower. Coffee maker and freshly ground coffee provided in the cottage as well as complimentary muffins. At times a made to order hot breakfast is available, message me to see if it will be available during your stay :-D. Guests are welcome to use washer/dryer in main house. Guests have use of the back yard with fruit trees and some berries when in season. Also the cottage is within walking distance of Division street shops, Pizzicato pizza, the 52nd & Foster street Food Carts and much more. The # 4 bus is just a block and a half away, which can take passengers west directly downtown. The TRI-MET app or website is easy to use & can help you get you anywhere from the airport, to downtown, to Powells Books, The Chinese Garden, and so on.
South Tabor Neighborhood is a quiet eclectic little neighborhood with many avid gardners, friendly neighbors, and gobs of dog lovers. We have community get-togethers, work parties, and holiday celebrations! If you are used to neighborhoods where no one knows each other or even speaks to each other this is definitely NOT the neighborhood for you :-D
  • We had a great time at Lisa's cottage. It was small and cozy, just like we wanted. We were greeted with the lights on and a warm, sweet-smelling atmosphere. Lisa also provided us with breakfast fixings one morning and served us delicious breakfast paninis the next morning. The price was reasonable and I would stay there again.

    Jennifer2013-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great cozy little cottage in close proximity to Tabor Park. Lisa was very nice and accommodating , making me feel right at home. Loved the verdant setting, privacy and nice shower. I would definitely stay here again!

    Matthew2016-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • We've used Airbnb all over the world and this one takes the cake! We LOVED our host, the cottage was cozy, clean and just the right size and breakfast was phenomenal. I would definitely recommended breakfast in the main house with Lisa if you get a chance. Not only is she a great cook, but has wonderful advice about the area and is an all around fabulous person. Great location, close to good restaurants and bars. We loved our visit to Portland and we hope to come back again soon!

    Alisha2013-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful, convenient and relaxing stay at Lisa's cottage! Lisa is a generous and responsive host and really made our visit to Portland special. The cottage was conveniently close to bus lines that could get us downtown in less than half and hour. It felt like a TARDIS, bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside! At no point did we feel cramped or confined, rather it was quite cozy and comfortable. The kitchen was great for making meals or preparing a picnic to enjoy on nearby Mt Tabor. It's a great way to experience Portland! Would love to visit again.

    Ross2013-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time at this little Tabor cottage. Lisa is accommodating and friendly. The bed was comfy and warm on a cool, gray Portland weekend. We loved it, and would recommend it to anyone!

    Brina2015-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is really adorable and a perfect size for two (and even fit our one extra four legged friend). The location was great for us--we went to nearby Mt. Tabor park one morning which has a great off leash dog area and beautiful trails and views of the city. Lisa's breakfasts are also to die for--I HIGHLY recommend the vegan burritos. Thanks again Lisa!

    Olivia2015-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • My son and I enjoyed our stay at the cottage very much, it was cozy and comfortable and we slept soundly. The cabin is quiet and in a good location from which to travel all around Portland. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious!

    Elvira2013-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay! Don't miss out on Lisa's breakfasts, whatever you do..... yummmm. The bathroom has the great luxury of a heated fan, wow.

  • Had a great stay at Paul's funky pad. Paul is very welcoming and his place is Ina great location for getting to many different neighborhoods around Portland. As others mentioned you walk through his living room to get to the door to the apartment. Once upstairs it feels very private. Definitely recommend!

    Nikki2015-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is as nice or nicer than what you see in the listing. Paul provides so many amenities -- he'll pick you up from the airport, he offers bike rentals, he's happy to make recommendations, and he even has a little "travel store" where you can buy a toothbrush or other item by leaving a dollar in the basket. The beds were extremely comfortable -- even my clueless teenagers commented on that. We can't wait to come back!

    Galen2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Paul's place is the perfect place to relax! Everything was as it was described and Paul was super nice. Theres a great little park across the street and a bus stop just outside of the house. I would definitely stay here again!

    Megan2017-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • The place is very clean and cozy. It has everything you'll need. Paul is very helpful, he greeted us upon the arrival and gave some good tips about the restaurants and other things. We are definitely recommend this place for staying and we''ll be back!

  • We had a very comfortable stay at Funky Pad Suite. The beds were great, everything was super clean, fresh and well-appointed, perfect for a two night weekend get-away in Portland. Paul and Carolyn Daigle are very thoughtful hosts. It's a great place to stay!

    Lisa2014-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the cutest places we stayed and awesome that it is our "own" suite and not just a private room. The small room with the bed is very cool and nice to have a second bed. The TV and couch was nice to have as well and everything about the stay was great. We enjoyed it and would stay there again for sure. They also have THE MOST comfortable beds we've ever slept on before.

    Darin2014-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I had a fine 2-day stay at Paul's place in Portland. As other reviews have described, this apartment is impeccably clean and well-appointed. Paul is a great host and available if you have any questions about the city. It was my first time visiting Portland and I found the public transportation to be a convenient & fun way to get around and see various neighborhoods that you would not experience if you stayed down town. There is a convenient bus stop a few yards down the street from Paul's place and from there you can get anywhere. I recommend downloading the PDX Bus app for your phone to plan out your trips. You can also buy single day or week-long passes for your smart phone which are good for all buses, light rail and trolley lines for a mere $5 per day.

This bright studio in the heart of Portland's historic Irvington neighborhood is not to be missed. Tree lined streets with big beautiful homes nestled in the heart of North East Portland. Comes with a full kitchen, a private bathroom, Wifi, cable tv, and a platform Full Bed with access to a hot tub in the back yard! Plus! Plenty of free street parking in front of our home if you have rented a car. A home for every travelers needs.
Arts-and-crafts architecture, handmade redwood tables, and a minimal but comfortable style give this bright studio a true Portland feeling. We always keep the kitchen and the bathroom stocked with the essentials. There is a table with high chairs in the kitchen, perfect for eating a home cooked meal. The Full bed lies under a North facing window, letting in lots of light throughout the day. The apartment is on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen. After a long day out on the town, you’ll come home to an always ready hot tub in the backyard, a plush full bed, a big TV, and blazingly fast Wi-Fi.
  • Really cute place, great location. Jason was very accommodating.

    Monica2015-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was an awesome find for a little weekend getaway to Portland. The room was clean, the location was central to everywhere we wanted to explore, and the hot tub was the cherry on top.

  • Great location & value! Hannah was a responsive host. Cute neighborhood.

    Megan2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Apartment was not what I expected. Quiet hours started at 10 pm but upstairs neighbors were loud all night. Was difficult to fall asleep, and then we were woken up again at 1:30 am when it sounded like furniture was being rolled across the floor. After that people were in and out of building and could hear every thing, even with a fan on. Bed was also very uncomfortable. Rock hard mattress. Apartment needs some updates. Other places in the city are for a similar price point, and are closer to restaurants.

    Emily2017-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • There are already prepared stuff in the house. Good location to connect center of the city. When you take bus 8. You can go anywhere in the city.

  • Actually, our hosts virtually welcomed us at the front door. They happened to be decorating a Christmas tree with their little daughter and the tree was in the foyer. They let us in, gave us keys and pointed the way to our apartment.

    Ed2014-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice location, with excellent host. The studio apartment is new to the airbnb market, so our observations (not requests at all) to the host about possible additions the furnishings (microwave, fan, small shelves for the bath) became near instantaneous events. Host is most discrete, but very available and convivial. Good choice for a couple. Bath is snug but adequate. Comfy down platform double bed. Hot tub looks like a winner in cooler weather. Very well stocked small kitchen. Plenty of light. Will stay again. Fairly priced, if not a steal.

    Steven2014-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We didn't get to meet Jason (or anyone) but everything was where it was supposed to be, when it was supposed to be there and any issues we had via email were responded to quickly while we were out. The room gets a little cold (we went in December) but there is a space heater to help out. And yes, the hot tub is where you want to be.

Private room in this newly remodeled single level, 1500 sq ft home with stunning Mt. Hood / valley views! Stroll 10 minutes to super-hot Montavilla (look online: "10 hottest US neighborhoods right now"). Perched on Mt Tabor, just a few blocks from hiking in beautiful Mt. Tabor Park, we're just a few minutes from Hawthorne District, Division St, Belmont, Jade District, and hundreds of pubs and restaurants. And only 20 minutes from stunning Columbia Gorge, (the best hiking in the portland area).
This is one of the few Airbnb places on Mt. Tabor that really offers GREAT views. The space is the main floor of a Mid-Century Modern, set up to feature the view in all the living areas (the bedrooms have views of Mt. Tabor Park and forest). Take some time to relax with a bottle of wine on the peaceful deck which has INCREDIBLE views of the Willamette Valley, the Gorge, and Mt. Hood! It's an excellent location: A safe, quiet, neighborhood, just out of the fray of busy streets! Your private bedroom has a double sized bed with a SUPER COMFY 3 inch memory foam topper, (Guests have told me that this bed with it's memory foam pillows gave them the best sleep they've had in weeks!) And of course fresh bedding, pillows, extra blankets and even more pillows... 2 people would comfortably fit here, though arrangements can sometimes be made to accommodate more. There is a ceiling fan, and a dresser and a work desk for your use in your room. There is one shared full bathroom. The house is comfy warm in the winter, and has A/C for the summer. There is a cozy gas fireplace in the living-room. I pride myself on Value, so you'll be provided with... ~Free High-Speed Wireless Internet ~Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash), towels and washcloths, blow dryer, (to save space in your suitcase!) ~Two phone charging stations (on the nightstand on each side of the bed, right where you need them). ~Dresser, if you feel like taking time to unpack and relax ~Rack for your luggage (so you're not tripping over it or cluttering up the dresser top) ~Individual Fan and Heater in the room, so you can control your own temperature, or in case you need some white noise while you sleep :-) ~Work table in case you need to spread out your work, if you brought it :-( ~Cozy gas fireplace for ambiance while you sit and watch the world go by in the city below! ~Portland Picks and Information, dining and sightseeing guides, and my special LOCAL PICKS, arranged in an easy way to see the most exciting things that this area has to offer. ~My handmade MAPS (these things took HOURS to create) with Restaurants, Pubs, Breweries, Food Carts, Hiking, and Public Transportation marked! ~Plenty of (bookmarked) Portland Travel Books and pamphlets, local menus... ~Large Screen TV monitor with Netflix and Apple TV, and free Wifi. ~Your personal 24 hour check in/out ACCESS CODE so you can come and go WHENEVER you please, without worrying about me needing to be there to let you in, or having a key to keep track of! ~Pet-free environment, in case you have allergies or a dislike of being covered in pet hair. ~Free parking, right outside the house ~Free Coffee, lots of tea, and breakfasty snacks (so you save some money on breakfasts, although there are some pretty darned great breakfast places nearby that you may not want to miss). We're located in a VERY QUIET neighborhood just steps from Mt. Tabor park (Portland's most wonderful urban park, and one of only four volcanoes within a US city's limits), 5-10 minutes walk to Restaurants, Food Carts, various Pubs and a Brewery, Vintage Shopping, Farmer's Market , and take Public Transit downtown from just 6 blocks away. We are close enough to the airport to make this a super convenient sleepover to get an early jump on tomorrow's early departure, or for business travelers. Or, if you are heading East to Mt. Hood, or the Columbia Gorge, this is the perfect jumping off point, just 25 minutes from the Gorge. Also, we're just over a mile from the 205 bike path, and from there a couple miles to the Springwater Corridor, the well-known 21 mile long car-free bike path that connects with countless other parks and bike paths. Although Check-in and Check-out times are listed, they are just guidelines, and I can usually accommodate other times if reasonable, and worked out in advance. In addition to routine cleaning, we wash EVERY piece of bed linen between EVERY guest stay because that's what we would want if we were guests. We used to charge a cleaning fee, but we don't want to penalize clean guests because of a few that left the space dirty, so we eliminated the fee. So if you don't mind, we'd appreciate it if you would take your shoes off at the door. We hope that by making it cheaper for you, you might make it easier for us. Morning coffee or tea, and snack bars, are included! Please Note: in compliance with Portland regulations, there is a maximum of 5 short term guests at any time, staying in 2 bedrooms, in the entire house.
When visiting Portland, where you stay is critical. You may not to be on a super busy street, but you still want to have easy access to everything. We have that here. The neighborhood is Mt. Tabor, you can look it up online and see why it's such a great place to be. We are literally surrounded with great food and pubs. Two James Beard Nominated restaurants are within walking distance! Walk 5 minutes to the Coquine Cafe, or 10 minutes to the Montavilla pub area with restaurants, pubs, dive bars, a cocktail lounge, a brewery, coffee and tea houses, the best Pizza in town, vintage stores, and a theater where you can have Pizza and Beer while you watch a current movie for $4!! Walk 5 minutes to SE 82nd Ave (the Jade District), which has some of the most authentic Asian food in the city. Walk to the other side of the park and you end up on Division St.(one of the 10 hottest food streets in the country), or Hawthorne Blvd (TONS of different ethnic and pricing options). Portland is not called "Beervana" for nothing, it has more brewpubs per capita than any other city in the United States, and believe me, some of them are astounding! I am a homebrewer myself, and have spent a lot of time testing out the local scene, and love to give ideas of good beers or bars to seek out, or places to eat. Portland is also famous for its food carts, and there are nearly a hundred food carts within walking distance of the house. And we're just minutes away from the bus that will take you right downtown. This house is at the foot of Mt. Tabor Park, a wonderful park situated on an extinct volcano (it's the only volcano within the city limits of a major US City), filled with beautiful walking and biking trails, 3 picturesque reservoirs (which are listed on the National Historic Register), an amphitheater within the cinder cone of the volcano, tennis and basketball courts, views of Mt. Hood, Mt. Saint Helens, and downtown Portland. The park is also a local bird watching hot-spot, being visited by 143 species of birds! The hill has 300 feet of elevation gain for a good workout, if you head for "the steps", or you can meander your way around on countless trails. This home, although fairly modest, is nestled up with the million dollar houses in the higher part of the hill, so it is fun to stroll around and look at the amazing modern architecture, and the beautiful traditional craftsman style homes surrounding us.
  • Great apartment. The view from Mount Hood itself was worth the stay. Scot was amazingly responsive, and the apartment itself was clean, with great recommendations for nearby attractions and restaurants. It was our first time in Portland, but wouldn't hesitate a bit to stay with Scot whenever we're back.

  • If you book here you'll be getting exactly what you see on the site. That may sound underwhelming, but it's true and when coupled with the affable and helpful host, makes for an extremely pleasant stay and interaction. The entire stay exuded a certain sense of crispness and professionalism while still being warm and homey. It's the best of both worlds in that you get your own little airbnb'ish (and gorgeous) place to stay along with a certain hotel/concierge like attention to detail and service. I can't say enough good things about the experience.

  • My Stay with Scott was top class. Scott has a beautiful home with great scenic views. Scott was extremely welcoming and a great host. I'd recommend Scott's house to anyone coming to Portland.

  • Scot's house was perfect for our stay. He was responsive to messages and flexible with our arrival time. The house has a stunning view and gets great light. It's also in a convenient location and near a nice park. The room is good sized, quiet, and has a ceiling fan which I found to be a nice touch. Scot's place worked perfectly for our last night in Portland.

  • Scot did a great job communicating and seems to care about his guests. Everything was clean and just as described. The neighborhood was nice and safe. Fresh towels, clean living area, coffee and snacks. Wifi worked perfectly. Nice time.

  • Staying at Scot's Light & Bright room was my first AirBNB experience. I didn't know what to expect, as is probably the case with most first-timers. Scot made the experience seamless and very-low-stress. He anticipated my questions and emailed me ahead of time with instructions on how to get in to the house and where to park. We did share about 1-hour of time together on a Sunday morning, sitting in the living room and chatting about all things Portland, as I was on a house-hunting trip due to an upcoming relocation to the area. Other reviewers have made very accurate claims as well. Some other comments that I haven't necessarily read from others: 1) Scot has a couple, single-room AirBNB's in his house. This was a small surprise to me, but probably just a rookie oversight on my part. He clearly has multiple rooms listed on AirBNB, it's just that I didn't notice this until after I was staying there, and eventually encountered another couple that was staying in another room. Not a big deal, just an fyi. 2) I had a car rental the entire time, so didn't attempt accessing public transit from Scot's place. I can say that parking is extremely easy and we had access to an off-street spot on the driveway, additionally, there was plenty of street parking available right in front of the house. 3) The pictures on the listing are all very accurate. However, due to weather conditions I did not get to see Mt. Hood at all over a three day stay, from Scot's living room, the view was too cloudy/foggy. It's not always clear and beautifully sunny in PDX! The Yin to this Yang is that upon our arrival to Scot's on a late afternoon, there was a beautiful rainbow in the sky looking eastward.

  • My girlfriend and I had a terrific time staying here. His house is in a cute neighborhood in SE Portland, so it is a relaxed, uncrowded, and kind of suburby area but there's still a number of great bars, restaurants, coffee houses within a mile of it. He had over a dozen sheets of information laid out on the kitchen table when we got there with details on some great places to eat and places to see. In addition, once he got home he sat down with us with a map of Portland and walked us through the city, gave us some additional suggestions of what to do and see, and answered all our questions. Scot was terrific, and I couldn't recommend him more, I wish we had been able to stay longer! Make sure to check out Oneonta Falls, it's worth it!

The place was very nice and is as described. When we first arrived we were greeted with cookies and a booklet of things to see and do around Portland and the surrounding area. It is centrally located to a lot of local restaurants and places to go grab a drink. It is a short trip to get downtown. If we ever come back to Portland this will be the first place we look to stay again.

We went on a long backpacking trip and made the road trip up to Portland to explore for a week. Jeff and Katie's studio was the perfect little space for us! It's clean and cozy, and made us feel right at home and cared for. They are thoughtful and helpful and were very kind and accommodating throughout our trip. We will recommend this cozy nest to anyone traveling to Portland, just a few minutes away from awesome cafes and eateries, and a short drive from downtown!

Genie and George are cool artsy people, and they welcomed us warmly when we arrived at Portland from Mt Hood, cold and tired. It was totally a surprise for us because the house is so beautifully arranged and decorated. There are lot's of paintings on the walls all over the house, some of them are ultra-modern, while others show Eastern flavor with Japanese style or Thai mystery. Genie recommended some places to eat, and we tried, and one of them is really good. The neighborhood is very creative, with lots of fancy shops and cool bars. We really liked the one with fish tanks full of tropical fishes and Sea anemones, etc. The bathroom is very modern and comfortable, and I would say it is already quite luxury for me. When I first open the room door, I can hear classic music flow gently out of the bathroom. Genie even opened the radio for her guests, what a taste! The bookshelf corner is an extra, with lots of interesting books, but apparently I didn't have enough time to read them. But I did researched those maps of Portland carefully, and they are very helpful. Check it out if you are going to stay there. We only stayed two nights there and our time was limited for explore the city, not to mention to talk with Genie and George. We had some short conversations and we can tell they are very knowledgeable on art, music, and local attractions. I wish I could have more time staying there, and talk with this cool couple with a cup of wine.
