Casa do Rio Alva is a very special place with private access to the river! Our country house is located in the village of Secarias in the heart of the nature of central Portugal, 4 km from the village of Arganil and 55 km from the city of Coimbra. Exploring the Alva River from our home is a unique experience, where the following stand out: avocets, bees, kingfishers, crows, swallows, foxes, field mice, frogs, toads and snakes, numerous fish such as bass, bogas and carp, but also trout and eels.

You will stay on our lovely farm, sharing with no other guests. Close to The Serra da Estrela Mountains, lots of beautiful river beaches and historical cities. It is a traditional, cozy and private granite cottage situated in a quiet river valley surrounded by woodland, birds and wildlife, with EXCLUSIVE use of our salt water pool. the house is good for couples, families (with kids) we do not charge more during holiday times, same great price all year, and pets (but please check first).

This small granite house is the result of merging the original farmhouse with an old wine cellar. Consisting of a spacious room, with fire-stove, kitchenette and 2 single beds, a large double bedroom with a baby cot, with an overhead mezzanine, with 1 double bed, and one full toilet, plus an outside toilet, "Casa do Lagar" comfortably accommodates 2 adults and 4 to 2 teenagers/children. 1 extra travel cot can be added for a baby.
