It's also ideal for kayakers or walkers. The bothy is next to the host's artist’s studio which it is possible to see by arrangement. With rocky coast and woodland behind, and the sea almost lapping at the front door, this simple but stylish bothy has everything you could need for the most restful of breaks.

Am Bothan - a cosy retreat on the Isle of Skye

Am Bothan (translates from Gaelic as Wee Place) is on a former croft on the Isle of Skye. This is an ideal place for couples or singles wanting simple accommodation in this beautiful part of the island. Built just for two, feel free to kick off your shoes and coorie in after a bracing walk in the sea air or though misty glens.

Garramor Cottage is a modern, one bedroom house . The living room is bright and airy with french doors leading out to the deck and woods beyond. Surrounded by trees, it is a very calm and peaceful setting. It is a 5 mile drive to Mallaig where you can get the ferry across to Skye. Local beaches such as Camusdarach Beach with their white sands are great to explore and just a short walk away.
